MARIETTA, Ohio — Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan echoed Mitt Romney’s call to vote for “love of country” not out of “revenge,” seizing upon a line of President Barack Obama's
“Mitt Romney and I are asking you to vote out of love of country,” Ryan told a crowd at Marietta College. “That's what we do in this country. We don't believe in revenge. We believe in change and hope.”
Ryan was referencing remarks President Obama made Friday, also in the battleground state of Ohio, that voting against the GOP nominee is “the best revenge.”

Romney’s running mate added Saturday morning, in the heart of coal country: “Look, in 2008 President Obama made all these lofty promises, it sounded so good. He said that we would have bi-partisanship, that he’d bridge the gap. He said he’d cut the deficit in half, that he’d get people working again, and he’d create jobs. You see all those jobs here in Marietta? Look, it sounded good and when he got elected people naturally expected him to deliver those results but it didn’t happen and look what we got.”
The Obama re-election campaign, in an email statement, claimed the GOP ticket is “willing to say anything to win, but their rhetoric just doesn’t match reality.”
With just three days to go before Election Day, it’s the final push for both campaigns and the state of Ohio is center stage.

According to the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll released early Saturday morning, Obama holds a six-point advantage over Romney among likely voters, 51 percent to 45 percent, in the Buckeye State.

Romney and Ryan held their final campaign rally together before the Nov. 6 election in Ohio Friday night. They will both make several more appearances separately to the state over the next 72 hours in hopes of securing Ohio’s 18 electoral votes.

Here’s why…
He wants to provide insurance for the rest of the country another way.
He wants to cap the Medicaid dollars at whatever the state received last year, add 1%, and then let us on our own to fend for ourselves. Or in his own words “manage your poor the way you think best”.
You must understand people…that’s a cut to Medicaid to the tune of more than 600 billion dollars. This differs greatly from the generous deal that MA got.
He opposes giving money for healthcare at the federal level, and also refuses to give it at the state level.
That, on top of Romney’s reportable care act (Romney care) pushes Medicaid cuts to well above 1 trillion dollars.
Why is this important…?
It means that the rest of the states will not have the generous benefits that Massachusetts had.
This means that he will be “pulling up the ladder” so no other state can achieve healthcare the way MA has.
Under Romney’s plan, there is no way to achieve universal healthcare.
Indeed, if Medicare is cut, even the current healthcare plan in Massachusetts will not survive.
The only reason Massachusetts healthcare plan has continued to survive, is from a generous waiver, first from the Bush administration, and yes, wait for it…
…then from the Obama administration, for billions and billions of dollars.
Massachusetts…your own worst enemy…? Yes !
Mitt’s cut to Medicare will put the burden of healthcare solely on the state’s tax-payer dollars.
They can not afford that, and the healthcare plan will wither away.
Furthermore, the Romney care plan, will cut Medicaid by 700 billion dollars.
More facts…By the year 2022 ( only ten years down the road ), Obama care will have 33 million more people under health care coverage.
Romney care will have 18 million fewer Americans with health care coverage.

The Jobs report today is hogwash. A trickle of people found work while 23 million people can’t find work to match their job skills. Guess they are running out of new ideas. The fact is they don't have any. Voting for Mitt the Twit and Lyin' Ryan is a vote for a return to the policies of GWB. I am sure there are those who will criticize him for the massive amounts of money that will have to be spent cleaning up and helping citizens regain their lives after Hurricane Sandy. Obama added over $6 trillion to the national debt in less than 4 years.
Obama hired Bush's economic adviser Bernanke and stayed the Bush economic course of Bailouts, stimulus and tax cuts to the rich.

Sadly, it is not the only Romney, as his campaign for the White House has made abundantly clear, first in his servile courtship of the tea party in order to win the nomination, and now as the party’s shape-shifting nominee. From his embrace of the party’s radical right wing, to subsequent portrayals of himself as a moderate champion of the middle class, Romney has raised the most frequently asked question of the campaign: "Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?"
The evidence suggests no clear answer, or at least one that would survive Romney’s next speech or sound bite. Politicians routinely tailor their words to suit an audience. Romney, though, is shameless, lavishing vastly diverse audiences with words, any words, they would trade their votes to hear.
More troubling, Romney has repeatedly refused to share specifics of his radical plan to simultaneously reduce the debt, get rid of Obamacare (or, as he now says, only part of it), make a voucher program of Medicare, slash taxes and spending, and thereby create millions of new jobs. To claim, as Romney does, that he would offset his tax and spending cuts (except for billions more for the military) by doing away with tax deductions and exemptions is utterly meaningless without identifying which and how many would get the ax. Absent those specifics, his promise of a balanced budget simply does not pencil out.
If this portrait of a Romney willing to say anything to get elected seems harsh, we need only revisit his branding of 47 percent of Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, yet feel victimized and entitled to government assistance. His job, he told a group of wealthy donors, "is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
Where, we ask, is the pragmatic, inclusive Romney, the Massachusetts governor who left the state with a model health care plan in place, the Romney who led Utah to Olympic glory? That Romney skedaddled and is nowhere to be found.
And what of the president Romney would replace? For four years, President Barack Obama has attempted, with varying degrees of success, to pull the nation out of its worst financial meltdown since the Great Depression, a deepening crisis he inherited the day he took office.
In the first months of his presidency, Obama acted decisively to stimulate the economy. His leadership was essential to passage of the badly needed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Though Republicans criticize the stimulus for failing to create jobs, it clearly helped stop the hemorrhaging of public sector jobs. The Utah Legislature used hundreds of millions in stimulus funds to plug holes in the state’s budget.
The president also acted wisely to bail out the auto industry, which has since come roaring back. Romney, in so many words, said the carmakers should sink if they can’t swim.
Obama’s most noteworthy achievement, passage of his signature Affordable Care Act, also proved, in its timing, his greatest blunder. The set of comprehensive health insurance reforms aimed at extending health care coverage to all Americans was signed 14 months into his term after a ferocious fight in Congress that sapped the new president’s political capital and destroyed any chance for bipartisan cooperation on the shredded economy.
Obama’s foreign policy record is perhaps his strongest suit, especially compared to Romney’s bellicose posture toward Russia and China and his inflammatory rhetoric regarding Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Obama’s measured reliance on tough economic embargoes to bring Iran to heel, and his equally measured disengagement from the war in Afghanistan, are examples of a nuanced approach to international affairs. The glaring exception, still unfolding, was the administration’s failure to protect the lives of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, and to quickly come clean about it.
In considering which candidate to endorse, The Salt Lake Tribune editorial board had hoped that Romney would exhibit the same talents for organization, pragmatic problem solving and inspired leadership that he displayed here more than a decade ago. Instead, we have watched him morph into a friend of the far right, then tack toward the center with breathtaking aplomb. Through a pair of presidential debates, Romney’s domestic agenda remains bereft of detail and worthy of mistrust.
Therefore, our endorsement must go to the incumbent, a competent leader who, against tough odds, has guided the country through catastrophe and set a course that, while rocky, is pointing toward a brighter day. The president has earned a second term. Romney, in whatever guise, does not deserve a first.

Gee, now why did that happen?
Oh yeah, because our Republican Congress made making President Obama a one-term president it's top priority rather than helping the American people. Even going so far as to adjourn early instead of at least trying to work out the differences.
We cannot afford a return to Republican economic theories that do not work any longer. Robbing from the poor to give to the rich is not an acceptable plan. Neither is allowing polluting the environment by relaxing EPA regulations and government oversight.
Romney, through his constant changes in position on multiple issues has shown he has no core values and simply can't be trusted. We do not need another Republican puppet for the 1% running the country.
I used to appreciate both Republican and Democratic ideas. There were plenty on both sides that were valuable. The two groups could usually find a way to blend their ideas together to gain an effective result. Think of the intellectuals who used to populate both parties: James Baker, Scoop Jackson, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Richard Lugar, and a host of others.
Now I couldn't support any Republican ideas because of the vast baggage that comes with them. If you want to support the Republican brand these days, you need to swear to a) lower taxes (especially for the wealthy), even if that means massive cuts to all other government services; b) refuse to raise taxes, even if taxes as % of GDP are well below the 18% yearly average; c) cut the government, without any thought as to the value that gets cut at the same time; d) cut the deficit at all costs, even if the costs outweigh the benefits; e) increase defense spending in our time of economic problems, even though we spend more than the total of the next dozen countries; f) oppose any thought of climate change or evolution, despite any evidence presented; g) support an oil-based economy and reject any alternative energy sources, although the competition for alternative energy is increasing daily (think China and India); and h) resist any call for compromise on any topic that is supported by a Democrat.
That's not the fundamental worldview that I want to support. I want politicians who solve problems (and we have plenty). I want politicians who work with their peers and find solutions. I want politicians who don't sign off their individual ability to think when they take office.
I no longer see any of those qualities in most of the Republican candidates seeking office. Until I do, no Republican will get my vote.
Romney said, "let GM go out of business." . His running mate wants to institute an 8.5% national sales tax. (value added tax) Romney puts his money in the Cayman Islands and invests in Chinese companies that do business in embargoed Iran. None of those sound good for the country. According to Romney campaign statistics the Obama is responsable for the creation of over 5 million jobs, reducing unemployment from over 10% to 7.9%, causing the stock market to be up 75% from almost 8000 to over 13000, and ending both deficit causing Bush wars. This economic recovery is occurring in spite of 271 republican filibusters.
