The pace of creation of jobs in the private sector during the current administration is now greater than the pace in either of President George W. Bush’s terms in office.

With the relatively strong October numbers, and the upward revisions to August and September, the economy has now created an average of 157,000 jobs per month so far this year. This may be a slight underestimate, in fact. The government has announced, but not yet officially incorporated into the numbers, its estimates of annual benchmark revisions, which would add to the jobs numbers in January through March.

Those revisions would bring average jobs growth throughout the year to about 165,000 jobs per month.

However, some of the difference results from the fact that Rasmussen is polling likely voters, while many other polling firms are polling registered voters.

In our view, that is somewhat beside the point. What matters, rather, is that the methodological shortcuts that the firm takes may now be causing it to pay a price in terms of the reliability of its polling.

Bush, not unlike Romney, felt superior to others, even many in his own administration, due to his life of priviledge and the power that comes with it. Romney still sees himself as a CEO of a major corporation, who demands respect, refuses to be questioned or criticized, feels he is entitled to hide his tax returns from the American people, as they are so inferior to him and who displays absolutely no moral character, despite running as a Republican, which is the party that proclaims to be the one of high morals and family values. A Romney Presidency would very likely destroy an economy, that is just barely starting to show signs of recovery and growth, further expand the distribution of wealth to the richest 1% and send our best and brightest young men and women into a war, with little concern about their well-being or a war only being a major recruiting tool for the Muslim extremists, who we have made so much progress in controlling, under President Obama. I hope my anxiety is found to be unfounded and our President wins in a landslide.

Average unemployment over four years under Obama, 9%. Average unemployment over eight years under Bush, 5%. I wouldn't mind returning to that. But I'm sure that Romney can do even better.

On average, I feel pretty healthy when I'm home but pretty sick when I'm in a hospital. Therefore, whenever I feel sick, I'm better off staying home; clearly, Western medicine doesn't work. And neither does my sense of causation.

The article says Tagg Romney invested in the co. that has machines Ohio, Colorado, Virginia, for a total of 8 states. There are 8 battleground states. What a coincedence! But since the mob gathered so fast and took action before help arrived, the ambassador lost his life for this great country, but CIA help did save most others' lives, otherwise the situation would have been worse.

This should be enough to refute right-wing nuts' assertion that the administration didn't act fast enough.

Look at the sampling and the Dems are over sampled by 4 to 8 points. And they are assuming turnouts the same as 2008 and that won't happen. And it isn't happening. BO won Ohio early voting by 2 to 1 in 2008. He is only leading by a 5-4 margin now in early voting according to Associated press. That was important because BO actually got less votes than McCain on actual voting day in Ohio in 2008. Dems usually come out heavy in early votes and that isn't happening anywhere near 2008 levels.

It's not my fault that you're too lazy to go see for yourself the line-up of polls at RealClearPolitics that show Rasmussen and others having the race(s) much closer than NBC does.

Gallup, Gravis, ARG, Ohio Poll, ABC News, We Ask America, all show races closer than NBC. NBC has Obama ahead in Iowa by 6% If you believe that then you'll believe anything.

In fact, ABC News' latest national poll (released Friday, November 2nd) has Romney up by 1% nationally. Gallup has had the number at 3,4,5, even 6 points in favor of Romney nationally (before Sandy knocked them offline for the last five days).

NBC's polls are out-of-line with most other polls, giving Obama a larger lead in many states where most other polls show dead even or even Romney ahead.

My evidence is indeed anecdotal, but I think it's quite telling.

In the 8+ years I've spent in Ohio, I've not seen more support for a Democratic presidential candidate, let alone Democrats seeking state and local offices.

Driving through rural Coshocton County, lawn signs supporting President Obama outnumber those for Citizen Romney by 6-1 or 5-1, depending on proximity to the county seat. The president lost in the county to Mr. McCain by a margin of 8-7 in 2008, and the reflection of Republican-leaning lawn signs was roughly 4-1 or 5-1, again dependent upon county-seat proximity.

This, my friends, is a sea change from 2004 and 2008.

And a very surprising, but nonetheless welcome one at that!

So if the polls say 49/47 +/-2.5 it could actually be 51.5/47 or 49/44.5 or 49.5/49

For those of you wondering why the NBC/WSJ/Marist numbers are so out of line with other polls, this latest poll samples 8 points more Democrats than Republicans which shows their expectation that there will be no change in turnout from 2008 for either party. Currently in early voting, Democratic turnout is down markedly from 2008 while Republican turnout is way up--an interesting development since on election day turnout always favors Republicans.

Another oddity in the NBC/Marist numbers are how they are accounting for independents. Last week I noticed they had independents breaking evenly for each candidate. This week they were generous and gave Romney a 2 point advantage despite the fact that everybody agrees Romney is winning with them by a larger margin. Some polls show Romney winning independent voters by double digits.

A group of workers have set up camp across from the factory -- calling it “Bainport” -- and some supporters have tried to block the trucks hauling equipment out of the plant. According to Dave Johnson, there have been several arrests.

Sensata workers have asked to meet with Mitt Romney and hoped to enlist his help keeping their jobs in the United States, but he has refused, instead remaining on the campaign trail where he speaks often about “getting tough” with China.

The most important part of the story is that Sensata Technologies is profitable operating in Illinois. Net income last year was $355 million, up 16 percent from 2010. The company reported total revenues of $1.8 billion in 2011, up almost 19 percent from the year before. According to a company financial statement, “both 2011 net revenue and adjusted net income represent record levels for the company.”

So this has nothing to do with “making hard choices” in the process of turning around a failing business, which is how the Romney campaign describes Bain's corporate raiding. Bain's partners are looking for a modest boost in profits by locating the plant closer to the booming Asian automotive market (Sensata makes high-tech automotive parts). They'll get a small tax break for relocating the plant – the one Mitt Romney insisted did not exist during the first debate – and possibly defer taxes on some of the income the company generates.

Reading the actual poll for Ohio. Sample 9% more democrats than Republican. Up by 6. I know it's hard for Liberals to do math, but that actually means the Dems are down by 3. On Wednesday, we will be dancing in the streets celebrating Obama's defeat.

President's rhetoric on the debt does not match his actions

We have now had several presidential debates, and I, along with many other Americans, have been struggling to figure out what, exactly, President Obama is proposing to do to get our great country back on track to fiscal sanity. So I thought it might be useful to go back and look at what President Obama has said and done over his term in office to, perhaps, clarify the picture. After all, the true measure of leadership is the ability to meet one's rhetoric with corresponding action.

During his Feb. 24, 2009, address to a joint session of Congress, President Obama emphasized that “there is, of course, another responsibility we have to our children. And that is the responsibility to ensure that we do not pass on to them a debt they cannot pay.” That was followed up by his Jan. 27, 2010, State of the Union address, wherein he said that “if we don't take meaningful steps to rein in our debt, it could damage our markets, increase the cost of borrowing, and jeopardize our recovery — all of which would have an even worse effect on our job growth and family incomes.”

Likewise, in his Jan. 25, 2011, State of the Union address, he said: “We are living with a legacy of deficit spending that began almost a decade ago. And in the wake of the financial crisis, some of that was necessary to keep credit flowing, save jobs and put money in people's pockets. But now that the worst of the recession is over, we have to confront the fact that our government spends more than it takes in. That is not sustainable. Every day, families sacrifice to live within their means. They deserve a government that does the same.”

In the first debate against Gov. Mitt Romney, Obama stated that “budgets matter, because budgets reflect choices.”

So what choices has President Obama made to make sure we do not pass on a massive debt that our children and grandchildren are stuck having to pay, to stop our growing debt from damaging our markets, increasing the cost of borrowing, stifling job growth and family incomes and jeopardizing our fragile recovery?

Surely his budget proposals, over which he has sole control, must reflect budget choices that will address these serious problems, right? Indeed, he refers to his budget as the “balanced approach.”

But, upon submission of his proposed budget to both the Senate and the House, he was unable to garner a single vote in favor of it. And a look at his proposed budget tells us all that no responsible legislator would vote for Obama 's budget. Sadly, President Obama's actions don't come close to meeting his words.

Budgets proposed by Presidents typically span a 10-year period. For the 10-year period starting with 2012, Obama's budget calls for continued, record-pace deficit spending for a total year-end debt of $16.3 trillion in 2012 (fiscal year just ended), $17.5 trillion in 2013, $18.5 trillion in 2014, so on, up to $25.9 trillion in 2022.

In other words, Obama 's budget calls for raising the national debt from its present record high of $16 trillion to a massive $26 trillion by 2022. And those numbers include the revenue Obama hopes to raise by increasing taxes on single taxpayers making more than $200,000 per year and couples earning more than $250,000. There is simply nothing balanced about it.

In fact, President Obama's proposed budget goes in the exact opposite direction of a balanced budget. It is a recipe for fiscal disaster. Those wishing to see the numbers for themselves can go to the WhiteHouse.gov website and click onto the “Budget.” Table S-15 provides a summary of the debt being proposed by President Obama. And remember, they are his numbers contained in his proposal.

Clearly his actions have not met his rhetoric. He has failed to offer leadership by putting forth a budget proposal that leads to a secure future for us, our children and grandchildren. We have already experienced an unprecedented downgrade of our national credit rating on Obama's watch. We cannot afford any more.

It appears voters are interested in learning more. As a New York Times spokesperson noted on Twitter, Romney's original Nov. 18, 2008 op-ed, skyrocketed Tuesday to the top of the list of the most-read stories on the Times website.

So they could all see for themselves that Romney told the truth and Obama lied.

GM: repaid $23.1 billion of the $49.5 billion it got from the U.S. Treasury, including all of its outstanding loans. But Treasury still owns 500 million shares, or 32%, of GM stock. To recoup its full investment, GM stock needs to hit $52.80 per share. It's currently trading around $21. GM also received a $106 million matching grant to build a battery factory in Brownstown, MI, where it is assembling battery packs for the Chevrolet Volt plug-in car using cells imported from Korea.

Chrysler: repaid $9.2 billion, fulfilling its debt obligations to the U.S. and Canadian governments, and is now owned by Italian automaker Fiat (58.5%) and a health care trust for UAW retirees (41.5%). Overall, taxpayers lost $1.3 billion on the Chrysler bailout. In full recovery mode, Chrysler is currently the fastest-growing carmaker in the world.

Ford: used its $5.9 billion loan to convert two truck plants to small-car production and to develop more fuel-efficient vehicles like the Ford Focus EV and C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid, on sale this fall. Loan repayments start in September. Ford says it will spend $14 billion over the next seven years on advanced-technology vehicles.

Nissan: received a $1.4 billion loan to build a battery plant and modify an existing car factory in Tennessee to produce the electric Nissan Leaf (currently imported from Japan). Production of battery packs begins at the end of September; Leaf production follows in December. Though it has sold only 14,000 Leafs in the U.S. since December 2010, the company hasn't backed off its U.S. sales target of 150,000 Leafs per year. A spokesman says Nissan will start repaying its loan after U.S. production begins.

Tesla: used its $465 million loan to build a battery plant and retool part of a former Toyota-GM factory to build the Model S, its second electric car. So far, only 100 of the cars have been built, well shy of its 2012 goal of 5,000. But the company says it's on track. Loan repayments start in December. Tesla, which went public in July 2010, hopes to break even by 2013.

Fisker: received only $193 million of its $529 million DOE loan because of missed milestones. Its first plug-in hybrid, the $100,000 Karma built in Finland, suffered quality problems. Its next model, the Nina, and a new factory in Delaware, are on hold while the company sorts out its problems and seeks alternative funding sources.

Vehicle Production Group: used a $50 million DOE loan to add a compressed natural gas version of its MV-1 handicapped accessible van. So far, 300 of the 2,100 vans produced at a plant in Indiana run on CNG. As fleet sales rise, the start-up company expects at least half to be natural gas vehicles. VPG began repaying its loan late last year.

Johnson Controls: the leading lead-acid battery maker for autos used a $300 million DOE grant to build an advanced-battery cell plant in Michigan, and is shifting work here from Europe. It predicted slow acceptance of EVs, and is instead supplying batteries for other fuel-saving technologies, like microhybrids, which shut down when the vehicle stops. The plan was for 680 jobs at full capacity. Today, it has fewer than 100.

A123 Systems: drew $129 million of a $249 million DOE grant to build two battery plants in Michigan. But demand didn't materialize, resulting in unused capacity. Meanwhile, A123 is replacing early batteries that had quality issues. Its resulting financial distress attracted China's Wangxiang Group, which agreed to invest up to $450 million for an 80 percent stake in the company. A123, which employs 1200 people in the U.S., says it will continue to manufacture batteries in America, focusing on other markets like grid storage and hybrid buses and trucks.

Dow Kokam: the joint venture between Dow Chemical, a Korean battery maker and a French engineering company used its $161 million DOE grant to build an advanced-battery factory in Michigan. It started production in June, with 120 employees. With EV demand slower than expected, it is targeting other customers like delivery fleets, the Defense Department and tug boat operators.

LG Power: U.S. subsidiary of Korean battery maker used its $151 million DOE grant to build a battery plant in Michigan to supply cells for the Chevrolet Volt and others. But with demand lower than expected, the plant, which has 200 employees, hasn't yet started production.

EnerDel: drew $55 million of its $118 million DOE grant to expand battery production in Indiana. An investment in Think, a Norwegian EV customer, turned sour, and EnerDel's publicly traded parent, Ener1, filed for bankruptcy in January. Co-founder Boris Zingarevich, a Russian timber tycoon with ties to the Russian government, took control by investing another $86 million. That set off alarm bells in Washington because EnerDel's batteries are used in some military applications. After exiting bankruptcy in March, EnerDel installed new management and moved its headquarters to Indiana. It currently supplies battery packs for the Volvo C30 electric car but is shifting its focus to making batteries for mass transit, grid storage and industrial uses.

If you didn't get to see Piers Morgan last night, hope you can catch a rerun of his interview with Rudy Guiliani. Mr. Guiliani was dissing the President for allegedly mishandling the Benghazi attack, and suddenly during his interview, General Wesley Clark (who had been interviewed earlier), asked if he could address Rudy, and the show's producers put him on. It was priceless to watch.

Rudy Guiliani was obviously stunned to suddenly have an honored military expert like General Clark appear on screen and contradict everything that Mr. Giluiani was saying, and the General also pointed out how wrong it was for people to politicize the Benghazi attack, and how the Democrats did not politicize a tragedy like 9/11 on the day of the attack, or the day after, or the week after, or the month after ... etc.

Rudy shot back his same rhetoric and then pulled his earplug out and walked off camera.

He knew he was outmatched!

Hopefully, after President Obama is re-elected, the majority of Americans can boycott any advertisers associated with FOX and its tabloid news. I saw this strategy work back when I was involved with the Parents Television Council when my children were young and concerned parents wanted to keep tv shows with mature themes off of family hour. Thousands of letters and emails were sent to the sponsors of these shows and it was encouraging to see how many sponsors quickly dropped those programs that were not suited for family time. The FOX channel was the worst as I recall.

It is unhealthy for anyone to be subjected to the brainwashing of FOX news. That agency and its one-sided, biased reporting is the equivalent of the National Enquirer news rag and the scariest part is that some intelligent people are actually falling for it. It has already caused enough disruption and unrest in this country.

Time to boycott its sponsors.

For all the right-wing nuts out there, published news came out today (based on official CIA records) to prove that CIA in Libya sent in help to Ambassador Stevens within 25 minutes of receving call for help in Benghazi. But since the mob gathered so fast and took action before help arrived, the ambassador lost his life for this great country, but CIA help did save most others' lives, otherwise the situation would have been worse.

This should be enough to refute right-wing nuts' assertion that the administration didn't act fast enough

Just to remind you. More protedtion was asked of the President several times BEFORE the attack on 9-11 and fell on deaf ears.Even the response that was sent was so far out that the fighting was over before they ever reached libya so did absolutely nothing to help those who were killed. Just go on poking your head up Obama's skirt and hide from the truth on his record on forgien affairs and domextic policy. When unemployment reaches 10% in a year from now because of his greatest accomplishment (Obamacare) you will go on blaming the Republicans just as he has for 4 years for his failures.

If Obama wins, we will have 4 more years of gridlock and partisan politics, no government budget because Harry Reid won't submit one and we will have higher taxes with higher spending. It's what Obama says he wants to do. How can anyone support this man for re-election.

You cite stats like 160,000 jobs created. But that doesn't keep pace with population growth therefore, while we are starting to see people hired, it's not near enough. This man has maintained $1 trillion plus deficits every year and no change in sight. He inherited a bad economy, duh. But how has his policies improved our position? They haven't. How has he led, from the back (his own words). How does he intend to operate in the next 4 years? The same as the last (his words). This won't get it done. You people need to wake up. It's time for a change.

What it comes down to is that on every single day of Bush's 8-year presidency, there were more people going to their jobs than on ANY day of Obama's presidency.

I don't think you can back that up with any facts... why not try?

But even if you could, at what cost was it achieved? Here's some excerpts from an article in Vanity Fair by Nobel laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz, publiahed in Dec, 2007 - long before the worst of the Bush Recession hit:

The damage done to the American economy does not make front-page headlines every day, but the repercussions will be felt beyond the lifetime of anyone reading this page.

The predictable result was a consumer spending spree. Looked at another way, Bush’s own fiscal irresponsibility fostered irresponsibility in everyone else. Credit was shoveled out the door, and subprime mortgages were made available to anyone this side of life support. Credit-card debt mounted to a whopping $900 billion by the summer of 2007. “Qualified at birth” became the drunken slogan of the Bush era. American households took advantage of the low interest rates, signed up for new mortgages with “teaser” initial rates, and went to town on the proceeds.

All of this spending made the economy look better for a while; the president could (and did) boast about the economic statistics. But the consequences for many families would become apparent within a few years, when interest rates rose and mortgages proved impossible to repay. The president undoubtedly hoped the reckoning would come sometime after 2008. It arrived 18 months early. As many as 1.7 million Americans are expected to lose their homes in the months ahead. For many, this will mean the beginning of a downward spiral into poverty.

Between March 2006 and March 2007 personal-bankruptcy rates soared more than 60 percent. As families went into bankruptcy, more and more of them came to understand who had won and who had lost as a result of the president’s 2005 bankruptcy bill, which made it harder for individuals to discharge their debts in a reasonable way. The lenders that had pressed for “reform” had been the clear winners, gaining added leverage and protections for themselves; people facing financial distress got the shaft.

The soaring price of oil is clearly related to the Iraq war. The issue is not whether to blame the war for this but simply how much to blame it. It seems unbelievable now to recall that Bush-administration officials before the invasion suggested not only that Iraq’s oil revenues would pay for the war in its entirety—hadn’t we actually turned a tidy profit from the 1991 Gulf War?—but also that war was the best way to ensure low oil prices. In retrospect, the only big winners from the war have been the oil companies, the defense contractors, and al-Qaeda. Before the war, the oil markets anticipated that the then price range of $20 to $25 a barrel would continue for the next three years or so. Market players expected to see more demand from China and India, sure, but they also anticipated that this greater demand would be met mostly by increased production in the Middle East. The war upset that calculation, not so much by curtailing oil production in Iraq, which it did, but rather by heightening the sense of insecurity everywhere in the region, suppressing future investment.

Anyone willing to blame the current high prices of gas needs to give that paragraph above a second read. The seeds of higher oil prices were planted long before Obama took office and will continue long into the next term of whomever takes office in Jan, 2012.

But that is all past history, right? WRONG! We are still paying for it and will continue to pay for quite a while. Worse, the Republican presidential candidate is more than willing to double-down on Bush's stupidity! Having hired more than 3/4 of Bush's old economic advisors Mitt Romney is touting the same "voodoo economics" that George W. Bush did. Isn't there delicious irony in the fact that George W. Bush's father is the one who coined the term "voodoo economics"? Mitt Romney is poised to lead this country into another recession even deeper than the Bush Recession. If Mitt Romney is elected, then 5 years from now we will all be bitching about the Romney Recession. Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? The Romney Recession!

I think it will be easier the next four years for the President because hopefully we will have voted out most of the treasonous Congress that refused to work toward compromise to help our nation during a time of crisis, and hopefully we will have crippled the Tea Party enough to keep it from voting against America's recovery again.

The House of Representatives will be essentially the same as now after the election, with Republicans in control with about 240 seats.

This means that a vote for Obama is a vote for several more years of 'GRIDLOCK', since Obama has demonstrated that he is either unwilling or unable to compromise with the Republicans.

Unlike Reagan and Clinton, who worked closely with an opposing Congress to get lots of good things done, Obama has made only one attempt to meet with the Republicans (on the Debt crisis), and even then he reneged on the 'deal' he made with Boehner.

With Romney as President, we will at least have some cooperation between the White House and Congress, and avoid more GRIDLOCK.

The problem with Gridlock is because Obama refuses to even TRY to compromise with the Republicans. He has met with the Republican leadership to try to craft a 'compromise' only once in 4 years - the Debt issue, and even then, when Boehner thought he had made a 'deal' with Obama for a combination of spending cuts in return for $800 Billion in new revenues, Obama had to 'run it by' Pelosi and Reid, who said no. Then the 'Grand Bargain' fell apart.

The GRIDLOCK over the last 4 years is squarely at Obama's doorstep, as will be the GRIDLOCK over the next 4 years if Obama is reelected.

My analysis of the election prospects indicates that the race boils down to just two States - Ohio and Wisconsin. Obama must win both, or Romney must win either one of them.

Rasmussen (the most accurate and least biased pollster in 2004 & 2008 - see Post #1.92) has them tied in both States at 49% each.

So what that comes out to 64%-36% in a state whose electorate runs Democrat over Republican by a margin of 76%-24%? I would say that 28% difference is very good considering the partisan divide is 52%.

Only Iowa and Nevada are the only two original swing states with Absentee requests and earlyvoting far enough ahead to call for Obama. This is not to say that Obama wins, he is just in a good position to win.

In all the other states the democrat early voting is down and the Republicans voting and absentee have closed the gaps beyond what they lost by in 2008. The biggest shockers are Florida and Colorado. Democrat early voting down 70%. Independent and Republican counts are both up, and according to all polling Romney is winning the independent voting.

Coshoctan County went for Bush in 2004 with 52% of the vote and McCain in 2008 with 51% of the vote. Coshoctan County early vote is down from 2008. What the sinage may be indicating is that the core of the democrat party is very motivated, but all across Ohio The democrat precincts are down 2 - 11% and Republican precincts are up 4 - 14%.

The Secretary of state released his numbers of who was up and who was down a couple of days ago. In Ohio the Democrat majority precincts are down 230,000 votes over last year, and the Republican doomated precincts are up 40,000 votes.

Obama won by 258,000 votes by the strength of a 49% - 22% early voting record. this year that appears to be 40% - 29%.

Obama is not likely to win Ohio.

Before Obama I was laid off work and lost my health insurance. One of the 800,000 that were losing their jobs a month at the end of the Bushwhacker era. I now have a job and have had one for a long time, no foreclosure notice anymore, and my investments in the stock market have doubled. Inflation has been less than 2% a year and my neighborhood has homes selling again making my home worth more. Independent Floridian here, I will be voting a straight DEMOCRATIC ticket on Tuesday, won't even be voting for the Republican sheriff I voted for last time after some of the anti second amendment actions he has tried to take. I live in a small precinct so as long as I avoid the early morning rush I have never waited more than 15 minutes to vote, so for me it is faster to vote on election day. Guess what, I agree there is a certain segment of the 47% that is lazy and has a "you owe me" attitude, and I have been complaining about them and the need to better manage our safety net programs for years, but you are delusional if you think the majority of that 47% has that attitude. I was in the 47% briefly when I was forced out of my job because upper management in my company screwed the pooch, but I was able to eventually find employment again. I also know people in the 47%, they want work, but realistic work, you can't support a family of 4 on McDonald's or Burger King pay. Your rants show a lot of callousness for a supposed "Christian".

We as a nation are NOT better off than we were four years ago. Obama himself said if things weren't better in his first three years, he wouldn't deserve re-election. David Noah...I am not going to call you names, but I am going to point out some errors in your logic.

First off, one paper written by two sociologists does not represent the views of all "on the left" No one is carrying around the paper at the DNC and saying that this is a strategy. I assure you of this. This is not the true adgenda of the democratic platform, after all the parties are made by delegates elected by the primary voters in each state. If this was true, I would be just as afraid as you are, but don't worry its not.

You ask why those on the left are not talking about welfare and poverty, but they are, just in different terms than on the right. The left is talking about the wealth distrubution of this country. That is a fudemental flaw we have in our society. Look back about 40 years ago, and compare it to today, and you see the middle class, which is a large part of the greatness of our society, economy and electorate, being shrunk and hurt. Not by washington ( I wish it were that simple), but by changes in our economy and the global economy. Take education for example, how many families were able to afford college for their kids 40 years ago? 20 years ago, you could get through college with some loans and part time jobs. Now, young adults come out with ridiculous amount of debt, and how can they, do what their parents did and buy a house, new car, and afford children with that hanging over their head? I am not saying that democratic or republican plans are better than each other, only that this is how the democrats are viewing problems with our economy, while republicans tend to focus on job availablity, no matter what job it is.

You complain about being called names, but that is a symptom of the greater problem in our government that has to do with how we are viewing governing ourselves. The name calling, the paranoia, the pointing of a minority of views within a party as the whole philosophy of the group, that is making american turn against american. It is making out the other side, which should be viewed as the loyal opposition, as Evil. It makes us feel better when we think we are good and against evil, but that leads to the paralyzing we have in Washington when we have to address fundemental propblems within our country.

I implore you David, to sit down and really chat with someone from the other side of the political spectrum as you, keeping in your mind, that although you might disagree, both of you want the best for the country. Find things in the other side that you agree with, even if its only 10% of the platform. Support the best policy and champion polticians that come together to solve, rather than stand their ground and let Rome burn. Find things that you believe are correct, and when your side does it, call them out on it too, show the same outrage from when you saw it from the other side. In the end, we can disagree with each other on policy, but if compromise doesn't happen, well, just look at the death toll from the years 1861-1865. That is really the only time in US history where both sides villified each other so much, that no middle ground was able to be found.

Poverty during Reagan grew by 2.2% in his first term to 15.2%. Obama's poverty rate grew from 14.3 to 15.1 by the end of 2010 & dropped .1% in 2011. 0.8% in a recession.. Another fact, with Bush Sr the rate went up by 2% in 4 years to 15.2, Clinton dropped the rate down by 4% to 11% in 8 years. Bush Jr. moved poverty rate up 3.3 % to 14.3% in 8 years. Clinton's presidency dropped poverty down to the lowest it’s been since 1973. When Bush took office some 31 million people living under the poverty line, in 8 years it increased to 45 million people. 14 million people in 8 years, and people call Obama the Food Stamp president.. CNN Money report 46.4M in June 2012, tallying Obama at 1.4M increase by 2011 and dropped .08 by 2012

He is the guy who created the hugh mess there. And now he is back to doing movies, which I will never go see because he is a piece of trash.

California is doing better than many red states. We recently saw the most jobs created anywhere here and we have seen unemployment claims drop.
