NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro discuss the possibility that even after all the money spent and ads aired during the campaign, this may be a status quo election with few changes in leadership. Turnout in many parts of the country could also impact the race.

Mark, Domenico: the worst thing about a status quo election is if the House Republicans read that as permission to continue obstructing progress in the country.
Let's hope the tea baggers get defeated at least, so there is some hope of moving forward.
Get out and vote Democrats! Vote for president Obama!
We want a country for 100% of the people not 1% of the country!!!
Obama/Biden 2012
Alaska Girl, not just for Obama but for Democrats in Congress too or we'll likely have the same gridlock we've had the last 2 years.
Dom and Mark have a weird take on the election...are they saying, it was a waste of money because nothing "changed?"
I agree it was a waste of money, because it boughts hours and hours of negative advertising, which ruined my TV watching...however, there was supposed to be more to this than one guy or another winning a seat...elections are supposed to be a national conversation. It is supposed to inform the public so we know what our challenges are...so, yeah, in that it was a waste of money, in that the media turned it into a game show. Worst coverage ever, in my opinion.
Donald Trump on my TV every week, really?
Adler when I say vote Democrats I guess I presumed people would understand vote Democrats for everything, even for a janitor! Hahaha!
Okay, here how's this:
Vote a complete Democratic down ballot!
Why vote for the same person that has been a failure the last four years??
Vote Romney/Ryan!!
Money?? Mitt's obscene money? if this is still a democracy - Mitt's money makes no sense. If this is pluto's pigotry (or plutocracy), then money buys elections.
Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, JK, but IMO you must not have paid attention to what president Obama has accomplished in just four short years. It really bothers me that people were so willing to abide by the 8 years of carnage from Bush, but are so quick to throw Obama under the bus. You can't expect things to improve overnight when this country was practically on its knees, and the things that he did do to try and stabilize this country and get it moving forward again took some time. The results have been showing for the last year, especially over the last 6 months or so. Do the research.
Why would I vote for Romney? We have no idea which Romney would show up if elected. I know one thing is for certain. It actually wouldn't matter which Romney showed up because Grover Norquist, who isn't even an elected official, yet seems, no, DOES have Republicans by the balls, has clearly stated that he and the top Republican leaders already have an agenda in place so all they need is a front man to sign whatever is put in front of him. That tells me that THEY will be calling the shots and Romney will get the title, which truth be known, is all he is really after anyway. The prestige of being called Mr. President. That is not what I want sitting in the Oval Office.
Alaska,
Perhaps you were asleep during most of the Bush years as we experienced a great deal of growth and very low unemployment. If you recall we started the downfall in 2007, NOT during the whole 8 years Bush was in office. SO, Obama has been at this for FOUR years and has eeked out just a minor job gain.
Just to also remind you, we didn't know ANYTHING about Obama four years ago. He made cheerleading speeches and made promises that believed he could attain. Instead he has broken promises left and right...
Yes, I'm entitled to my opinion and my right to vote for whom I believe is the right choice to move our country forward and given Obama's record over the past four years AND that he has been just as vague about his agenda for his vision for the next four years in speech after speech, I'm surely NOT voting for him.
Judging from the amount of ads being run by the GNOP Super-Pacs here in the Chicago market the last couple of days, it only confirms my belief that these gazillionaires have money to burn!
They will flip Chi-Town red when pigs fly out of their flabby white butts!
Feisty - I was watching tv last night and literally saw 8 nasty ads back to back! Tuesday CANNOT come soon enough!
Joe Biden did Letterman's top 10 last night about why people should vote early. #1 Aren't we really all ready for this to be over? OH YES!!!!
Obama/Biden 2012
Tell me about it!
I forgot to add, these SP's are now running attack ads against President Obama, talk about desperate! lmao
Real Clear Senate Map No Tossups
54 Democrats * NET CHANGE DEM +1 Republicans 46
What do Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Governor Chris Christie, President and SoS Clinton, have in common?
They all have their own private polling done.
YEAH THESE 2 NIMRODS ARE CREDIBLE...
Domenico Montanaro thinks there's going to be 131+ Million people show up to vote. What a joke!
1:10 to 1:15 into the video
There were 69+ Million that voted in 2008
ROMNEY FTW!!!
Ticked,
In 2008:
69+ million for Obama/Biden.
59+ million for McCain/Palin.
Obama/Biden 2012!
My bad...didnt get all the info, I got the numbers from another post...that'll teach me for not checking
A man would have apologized for calling people NIMRODS based on his own mistake...
Exactly right...I do apologize for the nimrod remark as well!
Thank you...
The super pac money did make a difference - it meant that some of us had to donate more money to the Democratic campaign that we would have otherwise. That hurt during this recession.
Ah, thank you so much for that intellectual interlude, Domenico & Mark
Voter turnout ALWAYS impacts an election!
This is anything buta status-quo election.
However, that's what FIRST READ and the crew over at MSNBC want us to think.
So you and they are going to report it that way, in order to make us think the outcome is inevitable.
Well, I got news for you fella's.....get out your sleeping bags, and bring your pillows to work Tuesday night. 'Cause this one's going down to the wee small hours of Wednesday morning (perhaps beyond), and it just might not turn out the way you're trying to convince us that it will.
But ah, I have a feeling you already KNOW that, and won't admit it.
DEMOCRATS FOR ROMNEY!!!!!!!!!!
A hill of beans may still not be worth much but politicians seem to be worth over one billion dollars. Will we get what they pay for?
The Kochs, for example, expect and get about a 5x return on the millions they invest to get their candidate elected. There is a lot at stake for them. Unfortunately, for the rest of us, we make up the difference.
It would be great if most people just voted against a candidate because he or she garnered the most monetary support of unlimited spending. Do this enough times so the big spenders and the Supreme Court will get the message "money can't buy our votes", "our democracy is not for sale".
Voters should always decide elections, and nothing else should matter America!
