2012 Election Book from NBC News

The NBC News Political Unit has put together a briefing book for Election Day; a guide for users to better understand the upcoming  presidential, Senate, House, and gubernatorial contests.

This nearly 150-page guide offers the NBC News battleground map, information on the most important ballot measures to watch, ad spending tallies, voter turnout history, and past election results.

It also includes an hour-by-hour viewer's guide to the top races in each state, and ponders the question, "What if there's a tie?"

Updated as of 11:40am EST on Friday, November 2 (October jobs report day!):

Real Clear Politics (RCP) consistently has been the go-to source for accurate averaged daily polling data for both FOXNEWS and NBCNEWS. With only 84 hours left to go in the 2012 presidential campaign, RCP continues to report Obama leading in eight of their 11 toss-up states with Romney leading in three.

In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged numbers from RCP as of 11:40am EST together with the most recent FiveThirtyEight election night probabilities of victory for either candidate:

In WISCONSIN, with 10 electoral votes, Obama's lead has jumped to 5.0%, up from 3.7% yesterday afternoon. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 91.2% chance of victory here, up by a significant 5.5% from Tuesday.

In PENNSYLVANIA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead is holding at 4.6%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 96.2% chance of victory here, up by 2.0% from Tuesday.

In MICHIGAN, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead is holding at 3.0%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 98.6% chance of victory here, up by a slight 0.5% from Tuesday.

In NEVADA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has risen to 2.7%, up from 2.4% yesterday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 87.7% chance of victory here, up by an astonishing 8.0% from Tuesday.

In OHIO, with 18 electoral votes, Obama's lead today settled at 2.3%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama an 80.5% chance of victory here, up by a substantial 7.2% from Tuesday.

In IOWA, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has settled at 2.0%, up from 1.3% yesterday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 78.8% chance of victory here, up by a significant 4.9% from Tuesday.

In NEW HAMPSHIRE, with 4 electoral votes, Obama's lead has risen to 2.0%, up from 1.3% yesterday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 77.8% chance of victory here, up by a substantial 7.5% from Tuesday.

In COLORADO, with 9 electoral votes, Obama's lead has risen to 0.9%, up from 0.5% yesterday. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 64.6% chance of victory here, up by an astonishing 9.2% from Tuesday.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

In VIRGINIA, with 13 electoral votes, Romney's lead is holding at 0.5%. Interestingly, FiveThirtyEight increased Obama's chance of victory here, and NOT Romney's, to 66.4%, up by an astonishing 8.2% from Tuesday.

In FLORIDA, with 29 electoral votes, Romney's lead is holding at 1.2%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney a 55.1% chance of victory here, down however by an astonishing 9.6% from Tuesday.

In NORTH CAROLINA, with 15 electoral votes, Romney's lead has risen to 3.8%, up from Tuesday's 3.0%. FiveThirtyEight currently gives Romney an 80.0% chance of victory here, down by a slight 0.2% from yesterday.

So...

In order for Obama to win re-election the least complex route would be through maintaining his current lead in the five toss-up states where his existing margins are widest (Wisconsin at 5.0%, Pennsylvania at 4.6%, Michigan at 3.0%, Nevada at 2.7%, and Ohio at 2.3%). Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271. In this scenario, Obama could still surpass 270 while failing to hold Iowa, New Hampshire, and Colorado.

However, should Obama fail to hold Ohio, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently forecasting Obama victories:

Path #1: Obama loses Ohio but wins the remaining three states where he currently leads, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Colorado resulting in 272 electoral votes.

Path #2: Obama loses Ohio but steals Virginia while also taking New Hampshire, Iowa, OR Colorado resulting in 270, 272, or 275 electoral votes, respectively.

Interestingly, with Romney's lead having diminished significantly in Florida over the past two weeks and with Hurricane Sandy forcefully highlighting the stark contrast between the candidates regarding the value and necessity if not the mere existence of FEMA in a state which has perhaps the greatest dependence on federal storm relief efforts in the nation, a 3rd path (albeit remote) has now emerged which could provide for some interesting election night television:

Path #3: Obama comes from behind to win Florida. This scenario would require only that Obama win the three states in which his present leads are widest (Wisconsin at 5.0%, Pennsylvania at 4.6%, and Michigan at 3.0%), resulting in 276 electoral votes.

For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the three states in which he presently leads, Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia bringing his electoral vote total to 248, but also steal victories in both Colorado where Obama's lead rose yesterday to 0.9% and in either Ohio (where Obama's lead settled late yesterday at 2.3%) or in Pennsylvania (where Romney's campaign believes Obama's significant lead of 4.6% is vulnerable). By so doing, Romney's electoral vote total would reach 275 or 277, respectively.

Should Romney fail to steal either Ohio or Pennsylvania he could overcome this shortfall by capturing the four other states in which Obama's current leads are smallest (Colorado at 0.9%, New Hampshire at 2.0%, Iowa at 2.0%, and Nevada at 2.7%) resulting in an electoral vote total of 273.

FiveThirtyEight this morning estimates the chance of Election Day victory for each candidate as follows: Obama 80.9% (up from yesterday's 79.0%) and Romney 19.1% (down from yesterday's 21.0%).

FiveThirtyEight now also projects that on Election Day the final electoral tally will be as follows: Obama 303 (up by 4 from Wednesday's 299) and Romney 235 (down by 4 from Wednesday's 239).

Lastly, although it makes no difference in terms of the final result which can only be determined by the Electoral College, FiveThirtyEight currently predicts a national popular vote distribution on Election Day as follows: Obama 50.5% (up from Wednesday's 50.4%) and Romney 48.4% (down from yesterday's 48.6%).

With only 84 hours of campaigning left, and with this morning's published October jobs report playing to predictably mixed reviews (economy adding more jobs than expected; unemployment rate ticking up one tenth of one percent to 7.9%), holdout voters may now be left to nothing more than the proverbial 'feel in their gut' as Tuesday approaches.

TGIF, America.

Increase in unemployment from 7.8 % to 7.9% is not the number Obama wants, is hard to cook more positive numbers. We are going BACKWARDS.

The spin is now , unemployment rose because more people are looking for job, however when the unemployment went down , Democrats never mention that it was because more people were leaving the work force.

23 million unemployed

3.5 million lost job in the las year

40 week average to find a job

+ 60% of the new jobs are part-time or seasonal

250,000 New jobs needed to turn the economy and Obama is failing big time.

Romney 45 , 44 is out.

I miss Tim Russert too. He was a straight arrow, right down the middle. He was fair and hit both sides hard when appropriate. He was working for the viewing publlic, something that scemes to be missing today. David Gregory's political leaning is obvious and Chuck Todd, while subtler about it, also leans right. They are both 1% ers who have forgotten that their duty to the viewing publilc, supercedes their personal interests.

Not to be mean, but I think the biggest loser this election is the credibility of the political media.

I saw a clip pf Mark Halprin used in an anti Obama ad. Don't networks own their video? How could Crossroads use it without the journalists' permission?

CBS uses Frank Luntz, a Republican pollster, as their political expert. He talks about a Romney win as if it were a GOAL, not just a possibility. Charlie Rose grilled General Powell over his endorsement of Obama to the point Powell snapped "what Party do YOU belong to?" Meanwhile, Donald Trump gets more airtime than all of the Democratic surrogates put together. Donald Trump - what qualifies him to question the President's birthplace, exactly?

I am mortally sick of listening to over-paid political pundits on the Sunday shows. Their opinions don't seem anymore informed than mine! David Gregory is clearly a Republican - I don't trust his moderation.

Worst election cover ever. People still don't know what the Affordable Care Act does!
Journalists have covered this election like its entertainment, and entertainers have covered it like they are journalists - weird.

Nevada's largest newspaper, the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

Benghazi blunder: Obama unworthy commander-in-chief

U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three other Americans died in a well-planned military assault on their diplomatic mission in Benghazi seven weeks ago, the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. So why are details surfacing, piecemeal, only now?

The Obama administration sat by doing nothing for seven hours that night, ignoring calls to dispatch help from our bases in Italy, less than two hours away. It has spent the past seven weeks stretching the story out, engaging in misdirection and deception involving supposed indigenous outrage over an obscure anti-Muslim video, confident that with the aid of a docile press corps this infamous climax to four years of misguided foreign policy can be swept under the rug, at least until after Tuesday’s election

To get anything real outta them, one has to peep between the splayed legs only to generally find the presented gender is opposite of what the garb purports. Damn shame too. A free and unbiased press is essential to a representative democracy. I expect they have given in to the pursuit of money like most institutions in this country.

More evidence that the GOP eats it's own...and is losing again...

Things are so bad that Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal columnist and conservative Queen of Reasonableness, freaked out and called for a campaign intervention, then decided to issue a correction days later: “This week I called [the Romney campaign] incompetent, but only because I was being polite. I really meant ‘rolling calamity.’” Rush Limbaugh has gone into full-on panic mode (his only other mode is “pharmaceutically indisposed”): “If Obama wins,” he cries, “It’s the end of the Republican Party. There’s going to be a third party that’s going to be orientated towards conservatism—or Rand Paul thinks libertarianism.” Liberals smell blood. “GOP Civil War Is Coming,” the Daily Beast’s Bob Shrum says, looking forward to a series of defeats for “the party of angry white men.”

Bill, after all the endless investigations are over and it is found that the president and his team responded correctly to Benghazi, that part of the reason for the confusion is a lot of the information was classified and the other part was you refused to listen, could you ever admit you are wrong? Or are you one of the few that still think the president is from Kenya, he is a Muslim, he was given his law degree just because he is black and actually flunked out of school? It is a good thing for you that President Obama will be re-elected. It will give you something to hate for another 4 years. Better him than your neighbor, but then it is possible your neighbor is an Obama supporter. Too bad for you.

Given all the information from unofficial sources, hearing in Congress , memos, etc, etc. The Obama administration fail to provide help before and after the 9/11 attack perpetrated for terrorist in a planned attack, which is not an spontaneous protest for the Mohammad film , like this administration want us and the whole world to believe. The political decision made for this administration was to protect the foreign policy of Obama and make us believe that with the killing of Osama everything was fine, nothing more far from the truth. Before or after the election we will have the answer unless Obama decide to keep all information secret like he did with the information of Fast and Furious. There is no transparency in this administration it is a shame that 4 Americans died because this administration FAIL.

Or the 1,000's that died and 10,000's of thousands maimed in Iraq. OK.

Tell me, why was the Ambassador in Benghazi without proper security at an unguarded outpost in the first place? On Sept 11th?

The demonstration over the film was trumped up by the terrorists as a cover. Those people over there are really very re-active and can be led to demonstrate over anything because they fear if they don't, they themselves will be killed. Remember the spread of demonstrations during the days after? Also remember after the people of Benghazi realized what happened, they took it upon themselves to attack the terrorists who did this. This story has been way over-played friend.

Just think...if Romney wins...the Smithsonian will one day have a pair of magic underwear on display.

Most likely 'soiled' due to 'The Mitt' crapping in them because he didn't really want to win.

All this is in just fun 'n game...I KNOW he won't win....because America really does not want a Ward Cleaver to be their President. After all...the 'Ideal American Family' portrayed in the 1950's never existed. But just in case you right wingers did not know it...what DID exist in the 1950's is a top tax rate of 90% ...now THAT is one thing I can embrace from then...and the President was a Republican!

They are our very first line of defense before troops go in.

Interesting factoid about this "election book":

    Romney: Mentioned 104 times

    Obama: Mentioned 189 times

    Jill Stein: Mentioned 1 time

Gary Johnson: Polling near 5% and not mentioned once!

This largely speaks to a fear among the establishment of voters actually choosing someone who would end corporate control over the mechanisms of government.

Page 1 - Report every story as fact if it hurts the Romney campaign

Page 2 - Do not report or comment on anything Obama does or says that could be viewed as negative toward his re-election

Page 3 - Hire bloggers to downplay anything negative about Obama

Page 4 - After election, continue to print only positive propaganda for Obama & the Democratic party to assure the complete over-throw of the Constitution by 2020 election

The selfish-right are out in full force today...pushing there meatless rhetoric just like their candidate. No REAL offerings as to how to improve, because they know their positions have all been debunked, like: trickle down, "job creators", too much regulation, ....

Get out there and vote dems. Let's keep the presidency, the Senate, and then start calling out Norquist and the republican house for their inability to compromise. That Tax Pledge MUST BE RESCINDED. And Norquist should be ostracized from meddling in American politics. It is the number one issue facing this country, when one of our two parties cannot compromise. And yet it's not mentioned EVERY DAY by the president and the media. Hopefully Obama will have the guts this time since he can't be elected again.

Then we must attack that Citizen's United ruling, else the Plutocrats will continue to buy elections and we'll never get our political system back in the hands of the masses.

My beloved George W. Bush will never relinquish the "worst President of all time" to anybody. Even Nixon. Even Hoover.

The evidence is that while that philanderer Bill Clinton is running around the country reminding folks how good a job Barack Obama has done in reversing the Bush trainwreck, George W. hasn't even been asked to show up in Utah or some other safe territory to tell us that Romney isn't a total liar and flip flopper. W has gone into hiding. He's persona non grata EVERYWHERE...except maybe in Saudi Arabia...

50,000 plus Americans died in the Vietnam War, a War Romney says he supported our waging, but that he spent ringing doorbells in France, and you think President Obama has done a bad job as Commander-Chief?

George W. Bush inherited a budget surplus, a booming economy, and bipartisanship support after 9/11, and he left us with a huge deficit and a cratering economy...and you think President Obama is the "worst ever?" Really?

History will look back on Obama as a far worse president than Bush, as he was in charge of the tipping point that turned America from an energetic, hard-working, entreprenurial nation into a bunch of lazy socialists who feel entitled to depend on a debt-ridden gov't to support them.

Bush will be looked at as a guy whose every gaffe was constantly aired on every mainstream media outlet. Has anybody ever youtubed Obama's gaffes when the teleprompter went out? Honestly, do it - it's hilarious and sad at the same time. Yet now we have news anchors splicing bits of Romney's speaches together to compile a sentence that Romney never made (the automated ordering system at Wawa, as one example).

So basically, it's the media of the early 21st centure that history will frown upon, and the primary basis for the scorn will be its left-winged bias.

Then a Grilled Rib-eye Steak, grilled over hot coals until it is a perfect medium rare topped with caramelized onions along side a twice baked potato and Grilled Asparagus drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice sprinkled with sea salt and fresh cracked pepper. Everyone in here speaks like they are clairvoyant but the intelligent statement would be otherwise.

The lies and fake moral outrage is pretty rampant in here. It is pathetic to see the articles being written like this and NOT see that it is from a BIASED individual.

I would think that the "supposed" reporters would want to have some kind of credibility but when I "simple joe citizen" can see the bias from their reporting, they do not. This is why the print paper is DYING and the TV new shows are DYING as well.

Get your political slant out of the reporting and we the people will come back as readers but until then I don't trust the bias nature of the news media. I do my own research to form my own opinion, do you.

You are being played by the media and you just don't see it. Pretty sad people.

Spinning 171k jobs is a positive, when it will take a steady dose of 250k jobs to turn our economy around?

Spinning 7.9% unemployment rate as merely due to more people entering the work force, yet when the unemployment number went down it wasn't due to more people levaing the work force?

No, I have stopped reading anything that NBC authored. I refuse to support such a biased network by even downloading their free stuff. By branding themselves as a news network, NBC is creating a fraud on America, and I would prefer not to be complicit. I have mixed emotions about supporting their online site such as these, but I see it more as entertainment with an opportunity to spread my views to the sheep who have bought in.

Its simple statistics and math Realist. It lays out all of the election scenarios, and goes state by state talking about who is up for election, who is currently in power by state, and what the voting has been the last two years. Its pure stats. Its not biased. Of course, your own "unbiased" self would know that.

CBS News has learned that during the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Obama Administration did not convene its top interagency counterterrorism resource: the Counterterrorism Security Group, (CSG).

In the days after the assault, counterterrorism officials expressed dismay over what they interpreted as the Obama Administration's unwillingness to acknowledge that the attack was terrorism; and their opinion that resources which could have helped were excluded.

Counterterrorism officials from two agencies said they concluded almost immediately that the attack was by terrorists and was not spontaneous. "I came to this conclusion as soon as I heard the mortar rounds were impacting on top of the building our people were occupying," says one. "The position of the mortar must be plotted on a map, the target would have to be plotted, computations would be calculated that would result in the proper mortar tube elevation and the correct number of powder bags to be attached to the rounds."

A White House official says President Obama immediately acknowledged the assault was a terrorist attack. However, there was confusion as White House spokesman Jay Carney said three days later, "We have no information to suggest that it was a preplanned attack."

On Sept.16, US Ambassador Susan Rice told CBS' "Face the Nation" and other talk shows that the assault appeared to have grown from a spontaneous protest over an anti-Islam video.

CBS' Bob Schieffer asked Rice whether she thought "that this was something that had been plotted out several months ago?"Rice answered, "We do not have information at present that leads us to conclude that this was premeditated or preplanned."

In an interview last week, President Obama said "the minute" he became aware of the Benghazi attack, he directed his staff to "make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to do."

CBS News is actually who initially covered up Benghazi and protected Obaba, while at the same time throwing Romney under the bus. Read this - it's another amazingly pathetic example of a liberal biased media outlet.

And the fact that Benghazi isn't completely covered up is what's annoying you, Reddev? If it were your family that was killed, would it be newsworthy? If it were your family that was murdered when there was not only advance request for enhanced security for a month prior to the incident, it should have already been suspected since it was 9/11. If it were your family would you be horrified that the attack, filmed by drones, went on for 7 hours with no help from the CIA or anyone else?

You are happy being uninformed about Benghazi. You are happy being uninformed about Fast and Furious. You are happy being uninformed about Obama's ineptitude. You should be blissful because NBC isn't going to keep you informed.

BTW - if the Senate Foreign Relations committee thinks this is worthy of investigating, why wait until 9 days after the election? http://hotair.com/archives/2012/09/27/bipartisan-senate-foreign-relations-committee-wants-answers-on-libya-attack-from-white-house/

Update, last I saw it was 98 killed in Sandy. Most of who did not listen to the dire warnings to evacuate.

The president is moving power line crews into position, even using the military to get them and the equipment there quicker.

Romney still denies FEMA is a needed agency of the US government. He refuses to answer any questions about his past comments on the issue. One of the few times he refuses to flip-flop so one has to assume he means he wants to disband FEMA.

former: You're missing the point - or deliberately avoiding the point as most liberals do. The point is that we had navy SEALS in harm's way, we knew it at the time, and we affirmatively instructed would-be reinforcements to stand down, and NOT to take action to rescue them. This is the first I've ever heard of our military abandoning soldiers in need, and it disgusts me. Yes, I want answers - and can't believe that you don't.

Under your logic, why not say that millions die from cancer, so why should we care about Benghazi OR Sandy?

It makes complete sense to tell the others to stand down.

The information that they were receiving was sketchy, was it coming from Romney? You do not send additional troops into an area if you do not have good intel. They did not have good intel. If they send more in, more die.

They had a drone taking real-time video that was being fed directly to the White House. That is a fact.

Our SEALS also had their infrared devices aimed at the source of the mortars to give guidance to air support to take out those locations (low/no-risk mission that would have cost no American lives). That is a fact.

The reason the battle lasted 9 hours is that the attackers quickly dispersed when fired upon. That is a fact.

So there was plenty of intel to conclude that an air strike on the mortar sources would have given our SEALS who were left to die an escape rout, whether you choose to come to grips with it or not.

And while I'll admit that there is room for some debate about the intel (though that room is closing as the more facts come out, in spite of the mainstream media's refusal to report on it), there can no longer be any debate about the fact that Obama flat-out lied when he represented that the attacks were in response to a youtube video.

                          just why does it...

"Make complete sense to tell the others to stand down?"

Why is that? In a former post you called me a troll, and while your "expertise" here telling others on Newsvine is relatively new - you're a member for less than a month, I must say - you sure have a whole lot to say about a whole lot of things. So, why is that it makes sense to tell them to stand down when fellow Americans are under attack?

Of course, the patriotism and sense of responsibility to help fellow Americans these men showed - rather than mouthing platitudes and throwing taxpayer money at the situation is probably befuddling a lot of folks; maybe you too? So, why does it make sense? And who came to help in the 7 hour attack? The fact that you'd rather call names than discourse with civility makes any name you call me meaningless.

Peas-on - Let's see if you are able to comprehend facts. Yes, more people are on welfare because this country has gone through the worst recession since the Great Depression. We as a country have a history of helping those less fortunate so we are assisting those who need help while we move out of the recession. As more jobs are created, fewer people will be on welfare.

The idiotcy you spout about anyone "loving" being on welfare is your own stupidity - nothing more.

After this election is over and President Obama wins as shown by Nate Silevr at fivethrityeight, I want NBC to can Chuck T. I am disgusted with his so called analysis and projections. If I wanted a Fox News perspective like Chuck T gives, I would watch them.

Perhaps Obama should hire Pigotry to attend the next ogre's banquet in Libya but rember what happens to the last pig at the table. Or given the new wolf hunting season in the North, Pigotry could hire on as a Little red Riding Hood wannabe and warn the big bad wolf to vote for Obama.

The October Unemployment Rate Went Up to 7.9%, Meaning it is Worse Today Than it was When President Obama Took Office 4 Years Ago! What a Pathetic Loser!

Barack Obama's Presidency, Net: from 7.8% unemployment to 7.9% unemployment Hahhahahahahha.

Elliott 302- Why do you read this page if you find them so biased? for the record- all national media but CNN are controlled by conservatives- good at the Board of Directors of each company that control them. The only thing liberal about the media is they hire people from all backgrounds to report the news.

for the record, you're an idiot, and the old "but the board of directors at Flaming Liberal News Outlet X are business guys so they must be rightwing" has never held any water, and doesn't today.

The media are businesses, yes, and they're mostly flaming liberal. Doesn't matter who owns the stock, doesn't matter who's on the board. Doesn't matter that they make a profit.

You can rattle off 100 news people who never would have had journalistic careers, Bryant Gumble, Katie Couric, Dan Rather, etc who never would have been hired if rightwingers controlled day to day operations of news divisions at the major networks.

I read it because I want to learn what the other side is thinking, unlike the narrow-minded left who won't watch FOX News because it sets forth the other view - never mind that Fox actually presents these pesky little things called FACTS.

Using Fox and Facts in the same sentence is completely laughable. I used to watch Fox and is nothing more then comedy. Fox has been shown over many times to present flat out LIES and in some cases have purposely fabricated stories or headlines.

How about a few nights ago, when every other news channel was covering the after effects of Sandy, and Greta was on Foxnews discussing Benghazi. (because of course, they wouldn't want to discuss real news..Oh, and the ticker below was almost constantly scrolling about Solyndra) After sitting there making up anything she/they could about the Benghazi story, she came out and said that they were making stuff up, but thats the presidents fault because he wasn't telling them everything they felt they should know, so they had to make up their own info

To be fair, I gave the propaganda a cursory overview. It is clearly slanted left. I was especially amused at the candidate profile "notable" notes. On the Dems candidates, the items involved wonderful facts of their lives, heroism (military exploits, purple hearts, charities, etc.), and the Reps recieved notes of failed election bids, paper routes, and in one case, "had an early bought(sic) with polio." All generally mundane.

I can already hear the comments akin to the reason the notable notes are as they are is that the Ds are wonderful and the Rs suck, therefore the "guide" is the truth.

I'll be glad when this BS is over.

Obama has extra "Baraka" because he is wearing his magic ring enscribed with the words, "there is no god but Allah.." and his "Down Low" buddies in Chicago are covering his backside while the Saudis and Soros are filling his re-election coffers with depreciated dollars.

Tagg Romney is just another Gangster like his father so what's your point? The only difference between the gansters of yesteryears is: Yesteryears the had Tommy Guns to get money, and today they have money to do their dasterdly deeds. A gangster is a gangster Capone or Romney all the same.

I'm sure NBC endorses that activity. Now of course if a group of people were outside of the polling booths to intimidate those voting for Obaba, I'm guessing it would be on the front page of NBS's fairy tale.

6dogs made it clear that his guns (see the 2nd amendment) were for the purposes of defense. As much as it pains you democrats to admit it, defense doesn't equate to terrorism.

@liberal, 3 days is nothing, I've made it through worse for longer. I guess that you've never been to any of the Bourghs. It is not what you may think it is in your community. The trouble with people now a days is they don't truly prepare for an event of this nature even when they are being told to leave. These people had an oppertunity to leave earlier. They were warned of higher than normal tidal and wind conditions. There is a big difference between listening to what the warnings are and thinking they have said this in the past and nothing happened. The national guard was on it's way yesterday and I'm sure they are there in mass today. So what is you point? nothing. Remember this if you want to drive or walk down the street and there are 50 fallen trees going clear across it you can't go that way until the trees are cleared one tree ata time.

Obama will say anything and you fools are stupid enough to continue to believe........The future is set for more failure and huge taxes. Taxing the rich more and more will not make a dent. I'm sick and tired of paying the tax for everyone who thinks the rich aren't paying enough. Why don't you complainers work harder and pay more. Quit having children that I'm contributing partially for. I don't get a tax deduction for not having children. This is my choice and I'm forced to pay more in taxes for your deductions. Oh, I forgot this knowledge is probably beyond your thinking.

My father always said not to under estimate the stupidity of the voter. Don't vote for a party, but for who will do the least amount of damage. In this case, Obama has damaged US enough with his lack of knowledge and it is time for a change and if Romney can't come through it will be time for another change....
