Romney pledges regular meetings with Democrats in pitch for bipartisanship

DOSWELL, VA -- Once again throttling back on his most vociferous attacks on President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney continued his effort to paint the president as a partisan without a plan, and pledged to work across the aisle with Democrats if elected president in his second event of a three-stop Virginia campaign day.

Charles Dharapak / AP

Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney greets supporters at a campaign stop at Meadow Event Park, in Richmond, Va., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.

"I'm going to meet regularly with Democrat leaders and Republican leaders. I won't do that once a year, when I say regularly I mean much more frequently than that, because we're going to have to work together," Romney pledged. "These are critical times. This is an election of consequence."

Democrats immediately seized on the irony of Romney delivering these remarks while standing next to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., whom Democrats have long accused of using his power in the House to act as one of the "chief architects" of GOP obstruction to President Obama's agenda.

“For the sole purpose of political gain, congressman Cantor and Republicans in Congress, like Romney’s running mate congressman Ryan, have blocked efforts to achieve a balanced deficit reduction deal and to pass legislation to create jobs now," read a statement from Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith. "The American people need someone who will move us forward, not just serve as a rubber stamp for the right wing.”

Romney, who has dialed down his criticisms of President Obama in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and as the campaigns move into the closing argument phase, continued to ding the president for what he said was a lack of an agenda and a campaign based upon attacks alone.

GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney hits the campaign trail in Roanoke, Virginia criticizing President Obama's economic and energy policies.

"For a while there he was talking about saving characters on Sesame Street, and then it was word games with my name that he was playing, and then of course he got very anxious and went out there and just attacked me day in and day out," Romney said. "Attacking me does not create an agenda for him."

Romney makes one more appearance in Virginia today: a rally in Virginia Beach that was originally planned for Sunday night, but had to be rescheduled due to the approach of Hurricane Sandy.

President Roosevelt said it best about men like Romney.

Let me warn you and let me warn the nation against the smooth evasion that says

"Of course we believe these things.

We believe in Social Security.

We believe in work for the unemployed.

We believe in saving homes.

Cross our hearts and hope to die, we believe in all these things.

But we do not like the way the present administration is doing them.

Just turn them over to us.

We will do all of them.

We will do more of them.

We will do them better.

And most important of all, the doing of them will not cost anybody anything."

LOLOLOLOL!!!! The IRONY of it all. A Republican mentioning the word "bi-partisanship." Wow! This from the party who within 8 days of Obama being sworn in as President that they would make him "a one term President." Within two weeks of the inauguration, Mitt the Switch was on Faux News calling Obama's presidency a failure! My God, Romney has no plans, no memory and no ethics. He knows only one thing, how to screw Americans for money! Check out how he stands to make millions from his old Company Bain Capital as they send Sensata Technologies in Freeport, Illinois to China! It's happening right now! They guy is a two faced POS!!!

HOW DID ROMNEY THE LIAR GET $101,000,000 IN HIS IRA?!?
Especially when was allowed to invest only $30,000 a year into it?

This great mystery seems to have troubled others, as well. On July 3, Current TV host Jennifer Granholm, a former Democratic governor of Michigan, invited Edward Kleinbard, a law professor at the University of Southern California, on her show to discuss how Romney could have accomplished this remarkable feat. There were "only two possibilities," Kleinbard told Granholm. Either "from a little acorn, a mighty oak grew very, very quickly, extraordinarily so," Kleinbard explained, causing Granholm to interject, "What little acorn could grow to be $101 million? I want to get some of that acorn!"

The other possibility, Kleinbard suggested, was not dissimilar to what [Mark] Maremont theorized: that Romney contributed limited-partnership interests in Bain's buyouts to his IRA. What was "quite troubling" to Kleinbard is that he suspected Romney may have contributed these interests to his IRA at a fraction of their market value -- "pennies on the dollar" -- and well below what he might have charged you or me. When the buyouts became successful, Kleinbard proposed, the pennies on the dollar were suddenly worth real dollars.

"What's very frustrating to me about all this is that we can only talk in abstractions and generalities because, again, of the lack of disclosure," Kleinbard said.

Lack of disclosure is the hallmark of Willard's career. His suspicious activities are always cloaked in secrecy. Willard will stonewall, lie, BS, hem and haw but he will NOT disclose his financial activities.

What is he hiding from us?

What is it he doesn't want us to see?

WE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW.

He already blew it by incorrectly calling them Democrat leaders instead of Democratic Leaders. It's the Democratic Party, not the Democrat Party. Clearly, he is not bipartisan.

What is Romney hiding from us? Mitt Romney's Father George Romney 12 years of tax returns. George H.W. Bush 19 years of tax returns. Bill Clinton 16 years of tax returns. George W. Bush 13 years of tax returns. President Obama 12 years of tax returns.
Romney's 2011 tax returns constitute 813 pages – more than 65 percent of which deal with his overseas investments, including substantial investments in a Chinese oil company, dozens of foreign bank accounts, millions of dollars stashed away in notorious tax havens, ownership of stocks in the Russian oil giant Gazprom, and bets against the American dollar by investing in Norwegian, Australian, Swedish and Canadian currency.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. With just two years of returns on the table, Mitt Romney still falls way behind longstanding precedent – failing to match other Presidential candidates. When faced with today's shocking revelations, the American people rightfully demand to know why, because the American people still want to know what he's hiding.

Mitt Romney Cofounder and CEO of Bain Capital and CEO of Bain & Company Profession Management consultant, Venture capitalist, Private equity has sold 50,000 American Business overseas and to China in the last 28 years.

How many Millions of Americans and American Families did Romney sold us out to the Chinese? Right now as he is running for office, its business as usual selling us out.

Mitt Romney is on the podium preaching the line that he would create jobs, while his buddies at Bain Capital the company he founded — are outsourcing jobs to China. But that is just the tip of the iceberg … The larger picture looks even worse and is happening right now as you read this.

These greedy bastards are not only pulling jobs out of Freeport, IL — where there are no good jobs to replace them — but they are actually packing up the Sensata Technologies factory and shipping the equipment … along with and our specialized American technology … to China. They are not even sneaking around like spies selling the technology to China, they are brazenly taking the technology and handing it, gift-wrapped, to the Chinese.

It is no secret that the Chinese have been breaking all our patent laws and stealing American designs and technologies for years, but now Mitt and his greedy cohorts are actually taking the technology to China themselves. This technology is worth far more than the plant is and will be able to generate billions of dollars for the Chinese economy while robbing America's economy in the process.

To make matters worse, they brought Chinese engineers to the plant between May and July of this year and forced the Sensata workers to train them, before losing their jobs to the Chinese. Usually a company is sold when it is not making a profit, but in the case of Sensata, the company made more than $500 million in the second quarter of 2012.

Aren't there laws about selling secrets to foreign governments? This Sensata plant produces high-quality sensors, which they sell to various car companies. The technology is uniquely American and is of the highest standard worldwide. The Chinese are just salivating over the prospect of acquiring the new technology … something they would take years to develop on their own.

FREEPORT, Ill. - The 170 remaining workers at the Sensata plant in Freeport, Ill., who will lose their jobs to China thanks to Mitt Romney's Bain Capital, will star in a new film about their struggle, to be released Oct. 26. Behind Your Back, to be available from Stone Soup Studios on DVD, and especially to unionists and their allies, portrays "the heroic struggle of the Bain/Sensata workers to preserve their honor and dignity amid this sad assault on their wellbeing and livelihood," producer/director Alder Lakish told the United Auto Workers. Lakish's film is the second pictorial revelation of the closure of Sensata at Bain's orders. On Oct. 10, the Steelworkers posted a video on YouTube highlighting not just the closure of the Freeport plant and shipment of its machinery and jobs to China, but low pay - 99 cents-$1.35 an hour - and terrible conditions that Chinese workers at Sensata suffer.
Romney has run his whole campaign on one lie after another.

Ohio's voting machines – brought to you by the Romneys. Mitt Romney's campaign has been hit by his links to a firm providing the voting machines that will be used to tally the ballots in the crucial state of Ohio, as concerns of voter fraud increase in the tightly fought race. Ohio is traditionally seen as the closest and most important state in a presidential election. The close contest between Mr. Romney and President Obama could easily come down to the counts in Ohio and Florida – the latter was the scene of a bitter struggle in 2000 between the Democrat Al Gore and George W Bush. President Obama still has a narrow lead over the Republican challenger in Ohio, according to polls, while Florida is tilted towards Mr. Romney. extensive corporate ties to the Mitt Romney camp" of Hart Inter Civic, the voting-machine provider that will be used to count the votes in Ohio, and the other key swing states of Colorado and Virginia. Reports in the US media since the end of last month have linked the company to Mr. Romney's campaign donors and his son Tagg.

Romney is a liar to Ohio! And to all Americans.

I don't know why Romney/Ryan don't just get down on their knees on public television, raise their hands and eyes toward God and say, "Please, please, please let me be president and vice president". Romney has been running about as long as Pat Paulson and Paulson did it as a joke. It is Ryan's job to attack government spending while he has lived all of his life as an adult on the public payroll. Republicans and tea party people are well known for their bipartisan spirit and I am sure Romney will fit right in. Unlike Bloomberg I am not endorsing Obama but I think a little honesty from both sides in the closing days of this campaign would be refreshing.

That is something that is truly needed in this country but I fear it is easier said than done. President Obama talked about working with the Republicans when he was running. That effort in my opinion never went very far because Congress didn't think they had to since it was Democratically controlled for the first two years.

The President could have accomplished more if BOTH sides had cooperated with one another.

The system is set up in a way to encourage debate but compromise as necessary to draft legislation that is good for the country. But since either party wants that, they would prefer to go to great lengths to gain total control.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard a politician say they had to work out the differences, and didn't.

The GOP/RNC "Pathological Liar and Chief" is not able to tell the truth. The GOP/RNC "Outsourcer and Chief" is not for supporting the American Worker at all. Just ask the Sensata Workers that will be out of work in Freeport Illinois. One wonders what these US Workers would say? The GOP/RNC "Intervert and Chief" never reached across the isle to work with others as Governor. Instead he was a Governor that was total 'intervert.' The GOP/RNC "Intervert and Chief" liked to hide in quiet rooms and elevators. Many individuals from his state still think he is rude. a bully, does not listen, a pathological liar, greedy, and is a spoiled child. America is seeing this right now from the GOP/RNC "Outwourcer and Chief!" Progressive Power Think Tanks are laughing aloud!

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan Are the World's Biggest Liars: That's a Fact
Mitt Romney has lied 533 times in the past 30 weeks. That's not an estimation, Steve Bennen has meticulously documented each one. All of Benen's documentations are verified and sourced. Romney is a proven pathological liar.
Well okay, Romney is a two faced, but so what, we all know presidents are nothing without their VP and cabinet. I'm sure his running mate has some honesty tucked away in his bulging money clip right?
                        Wrong.
It appears Paul Ryan is attempting to set the record for the most blatant lies a national figure has ever uttered.
Truth be told, I'm not a fan of republicans, or democrats. They are all time tested liars. It boggles my mind that these men and anyone who remotely resembles them are allowed anywhere near a decision making role.
Seriously, what scuzzy fraternity do so many of our politicians crawl out of and how do we not see their fake smiles and smell their crisp $100 bill lined pockets from a mile away?

Romney will lie 666 times before he is done

The sad part is, the Democrats would work with him. They wouldn't treat him the way that the GOP has treated President Obama. They certainly wouldn't pledge to make sure he fails by obstructing everything he does. Democrats are such sissies, always playing checkers when their opponent is playing chess.

I cannot believe that any Obama supporter in the world would dare open his/her mouth on this subject.

Romney has a crystal clear record of bipartisan work in Massachusetts! It's not even arguable!

And Obama has been the most one sided, get-nothing-done, absolutely unwilling to reach across party lines president we have ever seen!

How can you be so blind to this!? Even with his super democrat majority he got nothing done. I'm embarrassed for all of you!

Watch out now, I predict this: For the next 120 hours, if you think you've heard everything from Myth Romney, he will say anything and everything under the sun and moon, he'll promise heaven and earth, he'll move mountains, swim oceans to try and get your vote. The guy's an idiot. He really thinks Americans are that stupid. Oh to be sure, PHuckednoose types ARE, but he's underestimating the rest of America. C'mon November 6!!!!!!!!!!

You're so fooled by Obama's shifty campaign. He is the great promiser but not deliverer. When Romney says he'll do something, he does it. When Obama says he'll do something, he doesn't, then he blames someone else for not doing it. That is what the last 4 years has taught anyone willing to open their eyes and not just regurgitate the lies the Obama camp spews.

SIDESTREET- I think you are right. I believe that is because politicians are people who are elected by people that have the time and money to work for them and are enthusiastic about their political positions. They all feel like they have very simple solutions to very complex problems. The way the system works now is that I can blame you if we fail but I get all the credit if we succeed. Means more years in office. If Romney's belief system of no unions, lower taxes and fewer government regulations were the key to success then we would not have had 1929 or 2008 for that matter. Liberalism does not work or Europe would not be in trouble. It takes the right combination and people who are intelligent enough to recognize that combination. Both parties seem to have neither.

Obama promised the same thing in 2008 and that turned out to be a bogus promise.

In an era of finger pointing and blame storming, why would we expect anything less from Romney?

I will vote for Romney, but it is only because he represents the lesser of two evils.

Most Americans Still Credit Obama for Bipartisan Efforts

                              September 18, 2009

PRINCETON, NJ -- President Barack Obama may have failed to achieve much bipartisan agreement on his major policies since he took office, but Americans give him credit for trying. Sixty percent say Obama has made a sincere effort to work with Republicans, down from prior measurements but still the majority view.

"Already, the Obama administration has taken great pains to embrace parts of the Republican Party's agenda. Cap-and-trade, for instance, has long been championed by Sen. John McCain. And the president waited for months as the Senate health bill, modeled on the reforms Mitt Romney implemented in Massachusetts, was molded to accommodate the policy demands of Chuck Grassley and Mike Enzi, two Republicans who nevertheless withdrew their support for fear of conservative reprisals.

If that is not evidence of collaboration amid the new landscape, what else can anyone demand? If Republicans are willing to vote against their own proposals, how will congressional votes remain proxies for bipartisan collaboration? No matter how senators from either party vote, if a bill incorporates the best ideas from each side of the aisle, its champions should be credited for their willingness to reach out. And that should be the new standard of bipartisanship."

FACTS: The Republican Party no to the Rebuild America bills! Why? Because of Political Power and Corporate Control over the God given rights of true American Freedom. President Obama give this bill to Congress two years ago. this one bill will make up to 60 million good paying Americans jobs here at home for the next 20 years! Unemployment would be at 4.3% right now! Share it, use it or loss your Freedom to the American dream. Please do not take my word! Look yourself before you vote!

We were born in the same hospital. We went to all the same schools and we started dating, she we 14 years old. I am sick over this, my wife is sick over this.

Do you think it is a joke for us? Do you think we are having fun? Who did this to my family and me? The two face low life liar,
Mitt Romney Cofounder and CEO of Bain Capital! That's who!

Bain is closing Freeport on Nov. 4, two days before the election.
Lakish and his crew were filming during protests in front of the Sensata plant loading dock earlier in October, when three people were arrested for blocking trucks that carried Sensata's machinery away for shipment to China.
Bain, owned by GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, owns Sensata. Romney denies knowledge of the closure, but documents disclosed in the prior sale show Romney-owned funds invested heavily in Sensata - and that Bain's purchase of the firm depended on closure of the Freeport plant and shipment of its machines and jobs to China. The protesting Freeport workers set up a tent city, called "Bainport."
In preparation for the closure, Bain sent Chinese engineers to Freeport to be trained by the remaining U.S. Sensata engineers. The Chinese told one Freeport engineer that when the machines arrive in China, the first move there would be to remove worker safety devices, to allow speedier production.
"In political and economic journalism, a story like the struggle of Sensata workers to keep their jobs from being outsourced to China often is communicated as numbers-in this case the 170 workers who are losing their jobs," Lakish told UAW. "But as a narrative filmmaker I am interested in the human side of this story. Who are these people? Especially, who are these brave few who are willing to risk the repercussions of standing up and confronting this huge corporation called Bain Capital who owns Sensata?"
He also is using the film to document the impact of outsourcing on the personal lives of the Sensata workers and their families. Closure of Freeport is "great political treachery and betrayal of these long held American values that seems to be engrained into the very DNA of a corporate raiding and asset stripping structure like that of Bain Capital," Lakish said.

Now do you thing what the Republican Party and Romney is doing to us is a JOKE?
