DOSWELL, VA -- Once again throttling back on his most vociferous attacks on President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney continued his effort to paint the president as a partisan without a plan, and pledged to work across the aisle with Democrats if elected president in his second event of a three-stop Virginia campaign day.

Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney greets supporters at a campaign stop at Meadow Event Park, in Richmond, Va., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.
"I'm going to meet regularly with Democrat leaders and Republican leaders. I won't do that once a year, when I say regularly I mean much more frequently than that, because we're going to have to work together," Romney pledged. "These are critical times. This is an election of consequence."
Democrats immediately seized on the irony of Romney delivering these remarks while standing next to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., whom Democrats have long accused of using his power in the House to act as one of the "chief architects" of GOP obstruction to President Obama's agenda.
“For the sole purpose of political gain, congressman Cantor and Republicans in Congress, like Romney’s running mate congressman Ryan, have blocked efforts to achieve a balanced deficit reduction deal and to pass legislation to create jobs now," read a statement from Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith. "The American people need someone who will move us forward, not just serve as a rubber stamp for the right wing.”
Romney, who has dialed down his criticisms of President Obama in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and as the campaigns move into the closing argument phase, continued to ding the president for what he said was a lack of an agenda and a campaign based upon attacks alone.
GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney hits the campaign trail in Roanoke, Virginia criticizing President Obama's economic and energy policies.
"For a while there he was talking about saving characters on Sesame Street, and then it was word games with my name that he was playing, and then of course he got very anxious and went out there and just attacked me day in and day out," Romney said. "Attacking me does not create an agenda for him."
Romney makes one more appearance in Virginia today: a rally in Virginia Beach that was originally planned for Sunday night, but had to be rescheduled due to the approach of Hurricane Sandy.

Mr. Romney was hardly bi-partisan as governor, issuing over 800 vetos. He now seems to decry bipartisanship, with his advocacy of extreme right wing positions and his disappointment in Governor Christie for working with the President. He criticizes the President for not having an agenda, though the President has put his in writing, and though he only lists aspirations without any specifics (e.g. "I'll close loopholes" without identifying them). He knows he's lost momentum to the President due to good economic news on all fronts and to the President's excellent and acclaimed leadership in dealing with Sandy. The President is leading in early voting and now in most all polls. The handwriting is there.
In my view here is the sad reality. I don't believe it makes any difference who wins, the parties will not work with each other. I don't think the politicians realize how badly they have polarized this country. If President Obama wins what make anyone think the Republicans in Congress will suddenly decide to cooperate with the Democrats. If Gov Romney wins he really thinks the Democrats are going to sit down and negotiate Social Security and Medicare away while increasing Defense spending? ...won't happen.
What will happen is a lame duck session in Congress. It will do what lame ducks do...nothing but make noise. Then on the 2nd of January Sequestration will automatically cut the government by 20% across the board. Then shortly after that we hit the debt ceiling again with the same Tea Party in the Congress.
Suggest you all buy gold and a few large caliber weapons.
That is a funny avatar. It represents truly what will be a pounding all across the nation for dems. 2012 will be a doubled up trouncing compared to 2010. Obama is the messiah I do not want.
He leadeth me beside still factories
He restoreth my faith in the Republicans.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party’s sake
Yea, though I walk through the valley of free cheese and bread line, I shall fear no
hunger, for his bailouts are with us.
He has anointed my income with more taxes. My expenses runneth over my income.
Surely poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life.
The Democrats and I will forever live in government housing.
But I am glad that I am free.
Amen.

Go Forty Five 2012
let's face it boldly, It is what American's Want....
And YOU, my little Rep attack dog, may now go back under the porch for four more years!
Republicians are like the religious right wing nuts. They vote for a president based on religious related issues like. gay rights, abortion, and condoms. None of that crap is going to help america. But they cannot do anything else because of blind faith. They hear all these issues from the churches. But nothing is in the bible that would relate to our time in history and these issues. The churches change god's words to push these issues.
Then you have many voters who will not vote for Obama because he is black. This type of voter is the same as the religious nuts. They will never change their mind because of the hatred of anyone who is not white.
Then the rich and the corporations will vote republician because of the issues like no tax on rich, no regulations on corporations, and no taxes on corporations. That leaves the middle class and the poor to pay taxes.
@convenientliesyoubelieve -
Sounds like you are conveniently believing in your own and the Rep/TP lies. Your first post was witty. Inacurate, but witty.
The final day.
No Mitt fans remain. He's a doof to his supporters.
The GOP brand is in a shambles. Tea Party is circling the drain, taking the last stench with it.
Paul Ryan? A marathon liar, and a fraud. He never finished a mountain climb (Prove he did).
Get ready to see former Republicans eating some humble pie. How's Sarah?
GAME OVER.
Now crawl back under the rocks you came from,
TEA PARTY.
Good Riddance GOP as well.
