DOSWELL, VA -- Once again throttling back on his most vociferous attacks on President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney continued his effort to paint the president as a partisan without a plan, and pledged to work across the aisle with Democrats if elected president in his second event of a three-stop Virginia campaign day.

Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney greets supporters at a campaign stop at Meadow Event Park, in Richmond, Va., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.
"I'm going to meet regularly with Democrat leaders and Republican leaders. I won't do that once a year, when I say regularly I mean much more frequently than that, because we're going to have to work together," Romney pledged. "These are critical times. This is an election of consequence."
Democrats immediately seized on the irony of Romney delivering these remarks while standing next to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., whom Democrats have long accused of using his power in the House to act as one of the "chief architects" of GOP obstruction to President Obama's agenda.
“For the sole purpose of political gain, congressman Cantor and Republicans in Congress, like Romney’s running mate congressman Ryan, have blocked efforts to achieve a balanced deficit reduction deal and to pass legislation to create jobs now," read a statement from Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith. "The American people need someone who will move us forward, not just serve as a rubber stamp for the right wing.”
Romney, who has dialed down his criticisms of President Obama in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and as the campaigns move into the closing argument phase, continued to ding the president for what he said was a lack of an agenda and a campaign based upon attacks alone.
GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney hits the campaign trail in Roanoke, Virginia criticizing President Obama's economic and energy policies.
"For a while there he was talking about saving characters on Sesame Street, and then it was word games with my name that he was playing, and then of course he got very anxious and went out there and just attacked me day in and day out," Romney said. "Attacking me does not create an agenda for him."
Romney makes one more appearance in Virginia today: a rally in Virginia Beach that was originally planned for Sunday night, but had to be rescheduled due to the approach of Hurricane Sandy.

Yeah he will meet with Democrats as long as they are willing to push Norquist and his agenda forward. Romney and Ryan remind me of Hitler and Gering. Have Rove and Norquist head up bransches of the SS and America is canceled.
Obama-Biden 2012!
Romney and Republicans further down the food chain for the first time began
imagining another four years of Democratic rule in the White House.
First, a handful of Republicans battling for election in close Senate races
in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Nevada publicly distanced themselves from Romney’s surreptitiously videotaped comments that “47 percent”
of Americans think of themselves as victims, pay no income taxes and are
dependent on government support. ”That’s not the way I view the world,” said
Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., who is struggling to fend off a challenge by Democrat
Elizabeth Warren.

In the unlikely event he is elected president, Willard promises to have weekly meetings with Harry Reid--at church.
ROMNEY will SAY ANYTHING to get ELECTED! There is a reason that he was a one term governor in Massachusetts and he will not carry the sate in this election. People are comparing him to Bush they need to compare him to Nixon who also did anything to get elected.
NO ONE should TRUST ROMNEY, he is a chameleon who when he has the chance will do what ever he wants, his ONLY loyalty is to his "church".
Mitt Romney has staked his candidacy on the idea that he knows "how jobs are created and how jobs are lost." He touts the years he spent as a corporate buyout specialist, where he bought and bankrupted companies, laying off workers and putting profits for himself and his investors first.
But you rarely hear Romney brag about his record as governor of Massachusetts—those four crucial years when he took his 20 years of experience as a corporate buyout specialist and applied those lessons to governing. That's because when it came to the economy, Romney failed to deliver on the major promises he made to the people of Massachusetts.
Jobs: Under Romney's watch, Massachusetts plummeted from 36th to 47th out of 50 in job creation. Manufacturing jobs fell at twice the national rate—which was the third-worst record in the country. When Romney came into office, the Bay State's unemployment rate was lower than the national average—but higher than the national average when he left.
Debt and deficit: Romney left behind a $1 billion deficit, making use of what his successor, Gov. Deval Patrick, called "all kinds of patches and plugs" to hide the extent of the shortfall. Massachusetts' long-term debt went up by more than $2.6 billion under Romney—a 16 percent increase in just four years. On top of that, Massachusetts had the highest per capita debt in the country.
Taxes: In just his first year in office, Romney raised fees more than any other governor. In all, he raised taxes and fees by roughly $750 million per year. He raised fees on Massachusetts residents 1,000 times on things like hospitals, nursing homes, vehicles, buying a house, the blind, disabled people, and getting married. When he left office, the tax burden had increased $1,200 per person, yet he demanded a tax break that favored the wealthy—giving 278 of the wealthiest citizens more than $75 million.
Size of government: Instead of streamlining government as promised, state spending under Romney increased by 6.5 percent each year. And under Romney, state government jobs grew at six times the rate of private-sector jobs.
Romney economics didn't work then, and it won't work now.
Ah yes, Romney’s bipartisanship as governor of Massachusetts. Like the 844 bills from the legislature that he vetoed and the 750 of those bills that the legislature passed anyway with a 2/3 majority. The democrats in the legislature got a good laugh at Romney taking the elevator closest to his office and blocking it off so nobody else could use it. When he talks about reaching across the aisle, he must mean that he actually knew 2 or 3 of the people’s names who were in the legislature. At least their first names. As hard as he tried, his approval rating was so low that he didn’t run for a 2nd term. Must have been hard to give up his private elevator. I guess it isn’t a big surprise that Obama has a 30 point lead in Massachusetts as those people had 4 years to get to know Mitt Romney.
Few people knew or even suspected that the election of George W Bush would lead to war and economic collapse. To illegal wire taps and violations of international law. To Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice lying to congress, the UN and the American people about WMDs so Bush could settle his family score with Saddam and Cheney could repay Halliburton. At least there is no suspense with Mitt Romney. He has professed his dedication to Bush’s economic policies and is getting advice from Dick Cheney on how to lie your way into a war that nobody wants. Romney has also hired most of the foreign policy advisers from the Bush administration. Bush had a real problem when he took office. A booming economy and a budget surplus. So it took his entire 8 years in office to destroy the economy and to double the national debt. Romney will have the big advantage of a fragile economy and one of Bush’s wars is still going on. Many think that with a little help from congress, he can create a depression equal to the one we enjoyed in 1929 in his first year in office. Another war in the middle east might be a little trickier as many people remember the lies from the Bush administration. The big advantage he has is that Iran actually does have nuclear material and says that they are using it for peaceful purposes. He just has to convince us that they are using it to build a bomb and will shoot it at New York when they develop a missile that will go that far. Dick Cheney should be very helpful in working out a plan.
B.S.! Yet another lie...Romney will outsource bipartisanship to China.Work...Mitts NEVER done an honest days work in his life!
FONEY
well now, ain't that just dandy. Mitt is gonna be a bi-partisan POTUS. well if this S>O>B> wins along with the younger S>O>B>, then I pray that both houses of Congress are Democratic controlled, and they can stick it right in his arse as they did with the sitting president. Democrats, find a will cheap shot artist like Eric(the Judas)Cantor and stick him the face of Mitt and just disrespect the office of the President, yelling, challenging, divisive, obstructionist in a all ways and a coward to boot.
make it so tough on this newbie that he goes home and cries in Annes arms, has a yogurt with raisins and goes to sleep sucking his thumb, knowing that he doesn't have to be presidential, just let karl rove, grover norquist and the koch brothers tell him when to eat, sleep and suck his thumb.
GOP/Tea Party whining, one dimensional, mendacious fools.
Obama/Biden 2012
the thought of this ma and this party in that revered office makes me ill with anxiety issues, kinda of like a dry puking episode
If you're white and a rich man's toady, then you too can be bipartisan.
Romney = Idiot.
Grover Norquist said it best, "Mitt Romney will be a perfect puppet for the Right Wing Extremists of the Republican Party". "All they need is a puppet who can sign his name." I have checked every state election ballot, and for some reason I cannot find Grover Norquist's name on a single ballot. I am guessing that the best approach is to vote for anyone who is not a puppet for Grover Norquist.
New York city’s independent Mayor Michael Bloomberg made a surprise endorsement of President Obama today. Although Bloomberg had earlier declared he wasn’t endorsing a 2012 candidate and derided both Obama and Mitt Romney for “gibberish,” he came out for Obama, he wrote in a piece on Bloomberg.com, because “we need leadership from the White House” on climate change – and he believes Obama has provided it.
It’s another piece of evidence that establishment figures consider Romney a likely loser. Bloomberg’s official endorsement comes on the heels of New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie embracing the president for his handling of the storm.
Also, Bloomberg’s backing, just like Christie’s warmth, could conceivably swing undecided voters and independents concerned about partisan polarization.
New Obama ads are touting his endorsement by Republican former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
President Obama is doing a great job to curb America's impact on global warming. Manufacturing continues to decrease. High gas prices lower consumption. Higher food prices reduce trips to the supermarket. Clean coal regulations have virtually priced new coal plants out of the market.
This has been the worst election year. Too many negative ads. Mostly from the Republican party. It doesn't take a smart person to see that Romney is not a man of his words. He says whatever people wants to hear. He doesn't mean what he says. He talks before he thinks! Obviously, he is NOT ready to lead the country and be a commander in chief. I would really be worried if he wins this election. It would show that this country is going to be built by one party. He will not be working for the people of America. He will be working for the powerful Republican Elites, the Big corporation. People wake up! If you think Mitt Romney is going to give you a job? forget about it! His first agenda is to give the already rich a tax cut. When he said he didn't care about the 47%? he meant it. He's preaching, "I love everyone!" it would be hard for me to believe that because he has already been caught in his misleading ads by Fact finders.
The way I see it. Its election year, a lot of the big companies who are Republican owners will not hire, but rather layoff employees to make Obama look bad. I wouldn't doubt it if they all had a private meeting or emailed each other to do that just that. What America needs to do is Fire all those GOPs in office! In the past 4 years, the Republicans goal was to fail the president. They decided from the beginning that they were not going to work with him in any terms! Do you call that a bipartisan? Romney talking bipartisan? If Romney is elected as president, his employers will be the GOP in office and The Republican elites. That is to look out for themselves.
Get real People, think about it! It doesn't take 4 years to bring back the economy back the way it was when President Clinton was in office. There is still a lot to be done. Be patient. The pressure should be on those GOP in office right now! THEY FAILED AMERICA! These guys are some kind a different Republicans, more of an extremist! No compassion. They are just in for themselves. And I think Hurricane Sandy came in just that to wake up the people of America, that all the things you have don't matter! they are just things, that can be replaced. That there are more important things in life than getting Rich with all the pretty things. Sandy showed it that the pretty things can be taken away in a blink of an eye!. We need to open our eyes on taking care of the earth, take care of each other, be compassionate, be patient, don't take things for granted.
I've voted Republicans and Democrat in the past. This year Im voting for Obama. He is more passionate to take care of America than that of Romney!
Obama had four years. First 2 years he had full control of House, Congress and Oval office. He could have and should have behaved like a President for ALL Americans by working with Republican minority. He assumed that he had a mandate and ignored the Republicans. He forgot that at least 30% Americans hold the same view as Republicans. Another 20% have some form sympathy for the Republicans, let me qualify: on issue based policies. So Obama divided the country and try to follow the old British doctrine of divide and rule.
In 2010, the Americans sent a message to Obama by electing Republican House. Yet Obama noR his handlers took notice. Instead they became arrogant and insulted the American people's intelligence. Had Obama listened in 2010, he would have by now stitched up the election. Obama at heart is an angry semi Black man. That was exhibited when he accused the white police officer of racism while the Black professor was the culprit. Obama demeaned the white people by inviting the police officer for a beer when in reality he should humbly offered an apology. This Obama is the real Obama!
If Obama wins and if the House is still controlled by Republicans, you can bet nothing will be done. Obama will waste another 4 years. On the other hand if Romney wins, he will move towards the center and many decent Democrats will work with him. What I foresee is a Romney Presidency that is right at the center with many angry Republicans and happy Democrats! So a vote for Romney will be a vote for the bright future of America!
You are correct. Obama had a Democratic Congress and the only mistake he made was trying to work with Republicans during those first years. In retrospect, Obama should have crammed all of his initiatives through with an attitude of screw the Republicans, bur he didn't do it. He tried to work with a Republican Party who put their Party before the coumtry.
Obama2012
And another misconception in your post, Romney will be a puppet for the right-wing in his Party and will not be governing as a Centrist. Who are you kidding? He did pick Paul Ryan didn't he?
Well, since I want President Obama to be reelected, and I want the TEA Party extremist to go, I will be voting straight Democrat. I can only speak for myself. (and my family - since both daughters will be voting straight Democrat, & my 88 year old mother-in-law will be voting straight Democrat, and my husband, a moderate Republican, will be voting for Obama & no Tea-Party idiot) I hope when I wake up on November 7th with no Mitt and No Tea Party!
Obama may have had majorities in both houses for 2 years but in the Senate you need 60 votes to break a filibuster! There have been a record number of filibusters since he took office, some of the same Republicans who sponsored the legislation later tried to block it. One of the more recent examples of this was a JOBS BILL FOR VETERANS!
He tried hard to work with the double dealing Republicans giving them what they wanted and then like Lucy they pulled the "football" out when it came time to vote. People who supported him wanted him to stop trying to play nice and kick some butt.
Mrs. Pelosi appeared to disagree with you folks...
Dear Mitt, EFF U...EFF U...EFF U....good and hard.
The ONLY party who has been trying to work across the isle, naively, are the Democrats. Only have it ALL ignored and slapped down.
STFU!
If I were a Tea Party member, I would be very upset that Romney wants to work with Democrats. I would be joining the Tea Party for Ron Paul and voting for Paul as the write-in candidate. That's what I would do. Romney is not one of us anyway. He instituted Romneycare in Mass. and Obama copied it.
Romney is for:
I read an article, "The Meaning of Mitt", Vainity Fair, 2012. He was described as the "Imperial Governor". There was You and there was ME. There were ropes to keep people out and tape on the floor to tell everyone how close they couldn't get. He controlled his environment. Romney, as we all know, says one thing this week, and another the next. He tells people what he thinks he needs to do to get elected. I was watching some political talk show on the BBC channel, and even they say the same thing. "He just wants to be a President". I believe it and could never vote for Romney.
That is a funny avatar. It represents truly what will be a pounding all across the nation for dems. 2012 will be a doubled up trouncing compared to 2010. The country is ready for work and Prosperity, not the shiftless party all the time b/s we have been subjected too for the last, nearly four years.... .....
Why? we keep experimenting with euro-socio/governing mad scientists is beyond me. Hopefully we can embrace our future wholeheartedly this time. The domestic energy Renaissance is upon us I'm sure we will be able to use it to the betterment of the USA.
No one need be left behind even BHO will have a book or two and some speaking engagements but sorry no more Airforce one.
Sorry Barry, please go home "Quietly"
Yes he can fister, Illinois is known for self-cannibalism....Especially..... Chicagoland
Palms 2012
Obama is the messiah I do not want.
He leadeth me beside still factories
He restoreth my faith in the Republicans.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party’s sake
Yea, though I walk through the valley of free cheese and bread line, I shall fear no
hunger, for his bailouts are with us.
He has anointed my income with more taxes. My expenses runneth over my income.
Surely poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life.
The Democrats and I will forever live in government housing.
But I am glad that I am free.
Amen.
VOTE ROMNEY/RYAN 2012

This so called,"Leader" Presidebt Barack Hussein Obama, WILL be seen in History books as a Corrupt Liar, and the, Biggest politically elected mistake America has ever made.
I've never seen a man less presidential than potus 44 in modern history. ie. rolling stone interview "bullsh1ter" remark going on the record like that is a sure fire sign of a power mongers desperation.
The blame & shame Campaign of BHO is nearly at an end "thank goodness" Now, hopefully he won't completely destroy The USA during his lame duck Months out of spite for being fired.
I'm on record for saying "I told you so" long before this, as a matter of fact on August. 20th 2008 I said he would destroy free market capitalism if given the chance.
I'm so glad this nightmare is nearly awakened from. Now for the heavy lifting of putting this country back in order every one must pull together to save the "Shining city on the hill"
All credible help will be Needed & rewarded.... .....
Thank you, in advance for your support !!!
VOTE Romney & Ryan
In a few days our county will be deciding who will be our next president. The
vote will determine the fate of our country for years to come.
The most critical factor to use in the election is the integrity of President
Obama compared to Mitt Romney. Romney has consistently demonstrated his lack
of integrity on many issues.
Romney was a strong supporter of the war in Vietnam but dodged the draft, got
a deferment by being appointed as a Mormon missionary and spent the war in
Paris. I question the integrity of Romney who was willing to see others go to
war but was unwilling to go to war himself. Look at the DEFACED AMERICAN FLAG he wears on his lapel!
I question Romney's integrity when he said he would get rid of universal
health care early on the campaign trail. He is now flip-flopping to garner
votes.
Romney has clearly stated he would get rid of programs protecting women's and
children's health programs. He has vowed to get rid of Roe v Wade that protects
women.
Romney now supports senatorial candidate Todd Akin of Missouri. Akin believes
that women's bodies can prevent a birth after rape. Romney at first disavowed
Akin's statement but has flip-flopped to gain votes.
Integrity? Romney said in a recent debate he would be tough on China
regarding trade, but at that instant Rom ney's Bain Capital was dismantling an
Ohio company called Senasta and is shipping its machinery and technical
knowledge to China with the loss of many American jobs.
If you believe in Romney's integrity, I have some beach front property on the Jersy shore I can sell you.
Romney was against the bail-out for GM and Chrysler. He now says he helped
save them. His integrity is lacking.
The worst case scenario if Romney is elected is that he may appoint right
wing justices to the Supreme Court. This will be devastating for our citizens
who depend on Medicare and Social Security.
President Obama has consistently done what he has promised and stands head
and shoulders above Mitt Romney's say anything to get elected policy.
The conservatives keep yelping about bipartisanship...how the President didn't go out and have a beer with them. How he didn't have them in for sandwiches and conversations about common ground. How they felt left out and all alone in DC....poor things! Obama said it best when he went to the CPAC - went into the Lion's Den and faced the people who were standing up one after another, promising to cause his failure at every turn, mocking him (as much as his policies), calling him Satan, Communist, Nazi, ....every name they could think of. He told them (I'm paraphrasing), "You've demonized me so much there's no way we can work together because your constituencies will now question your integrity....how can you negotiate with the devil???" Bipartisanship in an atmosphere like the Teapubs created has been virtually impossible! The only Republican who came close was Boehner and he got slapped down by his caucus for even discussing a Grand Deal...any wonder why John was so teary all those months? I think he saw what his party was doing to THE PRESIDENCY (not the President) and knew his name would be forever linked to how they had diminished THE PRESIDENCY (not the President). Shame on them for having so little concern for this country and so little respect for our way of government! Joe Wilson's "You Lie!" in a nationally televised joint session of Congress is the most iconic moment for this bunch of self-serving hooligans and what they've done to this country... can you imagine that happening with Roosevelt? Eisenhower, Reagan, ....? Oh yeah, they were white!
President Obama has strong shoulders. He can take it. He stands his ground. He has integrity.
If Romney says he is bi-partisan today what will he be tomorrow???
He has changed position on:
Choice
Gun rights
Gay rights
Climate Change
Stimulus
TARP
Trickle Down
Auto Bailout
SS/Medicare
Balanced Budget
Foreign Policy
Sanctions
As Ted Kennedy put it: "People want pro-choice, not multiple choice".
Oh, that made my morning...."Multiple Choice" can we call him "Multiple Choice Mitt"?

Used to call a prior president the "teflon president"--if you allow this guy to get in he will be the ultimate "teflon president" as as there is not an idea or position that will stick once he is challeged about it.
Ha. Republicans have proved they don't know the meaning of the word bipartisanship. To Mr. Romney I quote from one of your own -- "You lie".
Yes, Mitt. WE know what GOPer bi-partisanship looks like. Three to four hundred fillibusters in the senate over nearly four years and a GOP house that hasn't passed a single meaningful piece of legislation, good, bad or indifferent, in nearly two years. And, yes, let us not forget the credit downgrade. The GOPers own that one too. MY-way-or-the-highway doesn't cut it. Let's try OUR way and vote the GOPers out next week.
