Subscribe to RSSSARASOTA, Fla. -- Promising to give a Sarasota audience "the whole load" of his GOP criticism, Vice President Joe Biden unloaded a barrage of derision Wednesday over a Romney campaign ad alleging that American automakers are planning to move manufacturing overseas to China.
Calling the Jeep ad "one of the most flagrantly dishonest ads I can ever remember in my political career," Biden called the allegation - which has been widely disputed by fact checkers and by the auto companies themselves - "an outrageous lie."
"All my time I have never heard an American corporation in the waning hours of the campaign engage with that kind of description of what a presidential candidate's doing," Biden said after quoting a General Motors statement calling the Romney ad "campaign politics at its cynical worst."
Responding to Biden's criticism, Romney adviser Kevin Madden said "We've got an ad out that we believe makes the case for why Gov. Romney would be stronger for the auto industry and why the auto industry's an important part of a strong economy. They've got an ad that they're using to make their case to the public, and we'll leave that with voters."
In Sarasota, Biden claimed that auto workers in Ohio have been frightened about losing their jobs because of the ad, calling United Auto Workers representatives to ask if its allegations are true.
"Folks, the president's job is not to show confusion," he said. "It's to plant the seeds of confidence."
The vice president's remarks to a crowd of over a thousand came 1100 miles away from the rust belt cities where the Romney ad is on the air, emphasizing how strongly the Obama team hopes to push back against the commercial and make its claims into a character issue for Romney. President Barack Obama is not on the campaign trail today, traveling in New Jersey with GOP governor Chris Christie to survey damage from SuperStorm Sandy.

Will, I'd say greating 100-150k jobs a month is far better than sheding 800k jobs a month.

I am saying that this administration's policies have slowed down the recovery while putting the government in businesses that the privet sector should be running. Not to mention the burden of debt piled on Americans with such little progress.
My mistake. Byt we do agree that the economy is far better than 4 years ago, right? What policies has Obama implemented that slowed down the needed increase in demand for goods and services for a recovery?

His intrusion into American businesses has hindered the recovery and should have been left to the private sector to manage.
Dose anyone wonder just were these republicans get there information from? I mean there is an investigation going on right now and miraculously the republicans already know what happen. They claim to have the situation room footage where the president is watching footage from a drone that was over the embassy, along with the cries of Ambassador Steven as he called the White House for help and the President told him he couldn't do anything for him or told those who could help him to stand down. So my question is, if all of this @!$%# is true why are they even bothering with an investigation? Who leaked all this incredible information to the public,... oops I ment Faux Noise. We live it daily. We don't need anyone to tell us how the economy is doing? Everytime I read the layoff notices, everytime I fill up my car, everytime I get my tax bill, everytime I buy groceries, everytime I look at how much my house is worth, everytime one of my family members goes to the doctor, etc, etc, etc.

I need a good, shysty lawyer or two to spearhead a new campaign:
Class-action suing political contestants for false advertising - all the campaign promises they fail to deliver on, all the fact-twisting without fine print and the outright lying. I think $100b is good starting point for a class-action.
I agree 100%, that there should be a minimum of a $100k fine per commercial ad aired that doesn't tell the truth, twists words around, takes sayings out of context, doesn't tell the whole story. Ads that do everything they can to mislead the American public is disgraceful. The fine money can go to charities or to help pay down the debt. The amount of money spent on this election is obscene, and is a slap in the face to everyone in this country. People in the world are laughing at us, what a joke we have become!
No politician would ever admit to false advertising even if you have two groups that seem to be polar opposites. Twisting words around where something is technically correct but is misinterpreted leaves the question of intent. Intent cannot be proven if it is denied but if something is technically correct but easily misunderstood then whoever says the technically correct statement is telling the truth.
If I say "Barack Obama will not admit that he ate my puppy!", that is a true statement. If someone claims that I said that Barack Obama ate my puppy they are wrong - I never said that.
They also don't admit to "hav[ing] sexual relations with that woman." even when the writing is all over her dress.
The problem is they never admit anything, or actually state anything, but rather talk in circles, filling hours with the sounds of their own voices, but their words have no meaning when they're done.
Watch the debates, it's like the verbal version of a Russian Circus - contort, backflip, slide in a barb and say nothing that means anything.
This Blog proves that the Liberals do not want to face the truth or the facts. I posted several times articles proving information that Jeep may indeed outsource to China. Both Fiat and GM indicated they may do that but the liberals on this site have no comments on it. Only one who asked if I believed an interview with the President of Fiat or what the CEO said which has no documentation except that not all of jeep will be moved. I guess the fact is that all who do not agree with the left are labeled LIARS. In my mind that is what is wrong with all our Politicians. They all seem to have tunnel vision and do not concern themselves with the truth and needs of Americans and then there are those Americans who take every word a politician such as Biden says as the gospel. The real question in this election is not who lied but who lied less.

For those that didn't see the car ad...
Our country is in desperate need of leaders who can guide us in more or less the same direction and give us some common inspiration. We need to get out of this rut of partisanship and lose the idea that one party or one person has all the answers, and no need to listen to anyone else.
It perplexes me that with the millions of eligible adults we can’t come up with anything better than choosing between the lesser of two evils for president. I guess, though, I can understand why any really wise person would not want to subject themselves and their family to the media circus that goes along with it.
In 2008 I reluctantly voted for Obama. Very likely I would have voted for McCain had he selected a different running mate. I haven’t been happy with many of the things that have happened in the meantime, but I give Obama some credit for dealing with a these very difficult times with some degree of success. I don’t know that McCain – or Palin – would have done much better, especially when the sole aim of the parties seems to be to shoot down the other party.
I was very concerned about Obama’s limited experience. Coming from Illinois, I saw how he more or less lucked into the Senate, after his stronger opponent, Jim Ryan, was forced to drop out as a result of a sex scandal. I was really disappointed when they were unable to convince former governor Jim Edgar to run for that seat against Obama; I believe Edgar would have won handily and could have been a great senator. Not to say Obama would have disappeared from the national stage, but he would have had more time to mature.
At any rate, Obama is there and now has had the experience. To this point I haven’t been convinced that Romney offers a compelling reason to change horses. If the election was held today, I would reluctantly vote for Obama again, or more likely for a third party candidate, as I have often in the past. We just have to get off of this treadmill.
I am just so tired of seeing vote after vote in congress strictly along party lines. Can none of our leaders think for themselves anymore?
One final thought – I am very, very, very unhappy that it doesn’t matter who I will vote for, because Illinois has already been “decided” for Obama. In fact, none of the votes I’ve cast since 1968 have mattered because of this antiquated Electoral College system. We need a true One Man, One Vote system.

The economy is stagnate at best 120,000 new jobs a month will take us 8 years to cut the 23 M in half, Benghazi a disaster and nothing but excuses from the White House. While no president can be expected to stop a terrorist attack no President should be throwing out distractions hopeing this will go away, it was the video, it was demonstrators with RPG's it was the budget, it was poor Intel, to bad Obama didn't lead, it would no longer be news, we'll never know until after the election, as planned from the start of this sad mess, no leadership.

TWO EXAMPLES of misleading information distributed by the Romney Campaign:
CLAIM: Page 8 lists 10 items as "The ONLY acceptable forms of "Proof of Residency".
FACT: The list is incomplete. There are many other documents people can use to prove residency that are not included, such as letters from public schools, student loan papers, correspondence with a Native American tribe in WI, vehicle registration, and food stamp correspondances. In addition, the list fails to mention that homeless voters may use an affidavit froma public or private social service agency as proof of residency.
CLAIM: If a handicapped voter is unable to come to the polls to vote, an assistant can deliver the ballot to the voter if the CEI verifies the elector's proof of residency.
FACT: Under Wisconsin law, the CEI (Chief Election Inspector) does not have to verify proof of residency so long as the voter is registered.
The Romney campaign knows that confusing & inaccurate information on Election Day slows down the voting process, discourages voters who wait in line, and drives down turnout. GOP voter suppression has been HUGE in this election cycle. Citizens have the legal right to vote. Election workers should be forwarding this right, not creating obstacles to voting. Forwarding disinformation is an attempt to eliminate our voices, inhibit progress and maintain the status quo.
And all this brought to you by the party of "less government". Anybody wonder why they like to beat that drum so much? As the old saying goes, "when the cat's away the mouse will play."

We can fall for the garbage being portrayed on Romney, but the facts are that our US Constitution is under threat, our military is being cut, Obama health care is a smoke screen for raising our taxed to death economy now, and I don't want deals with Russia, Iran, which jepordizes our safety.
