McCain rips Obama on Libya at relief event

 

ONTARIO, OH — Arizona Sen. John McCain delivered a stinging rebuke of President Barack Obama's handling of the terrorist attack on an American consulate in Libya, saying the commander in chief is either "engaged in a massive cover-up" or is "grossly incompetent."

The 2008 GOP presidential nominee focused his remarks on the Sept. 11, 2012 attack in Libya rather than Hurricane Sandy at an event in battleground Ohio that had been billed as a "storm relief and volunteer appreciation" event.

"This president is either engaged in a massive cover-up deceiving the American people or he is so grossly incompetent that he is not qualified to be the commander in chief of our armed forces. It's either one of them," McCain told Romney volunteers gathered here at a Victory Center.

Though the mention of the attacks has faded from Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's stump speech, it remains a hot button for conservatives who feel the death of four Americans was a result of negligence on the part of the White House. Democrats have condemned the accusations as an attempt by the right to politicize the tragedy, a notion McCain dismissed when speaking to reporters.

"I think it's interesting to note that when there was a success, such as when, thank God, we were able to get bin Laden, the administration poured out every single detail, even details that put American lives in danger," McCain said. He later added: "It is my obligation to the men and women who are serving to get the full story out to these four brave Americans have families. They deserve to know why their sons were sacrificed in the needless fashion."

As McCain motivated volunteers at Romney's Ohio headquarters, the GOP nominee held a relief event to collect supplies for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Obama cancelled campaign events on Tuesday, and Romney scratched an earlier event in this state, a move McCain called "appropriate."

The 2008 presidential candidate said he believes the storm "froze everything in place while this terrible tragedy fixated the attention of the American people. Now i think they're ready to get back into this campaign."

Also joining McCain was Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, who encouraged Ohioans to bring supplies to Victory Centers throughout the state. They are two of many surrogates who will be hitting the Buckeye State between now and Election Day. The focus now is turning out the base and getting as many early votes as possible before Nov. 6.

Asked to compare conservative enthusiasm now to at this point four years ago, McCain said, "I hate to admit it but it's much stronger than in 2008. That's just a fact."

The Franklin County Board of Elections reports that 4,432 people voted Monday on a nasty rainy day at the county’s early voting center in a vacated department store, making it the busiest day yet for early voting.

That exceeded the 4,228 people who voted on Oct. 9, the last day to register in Ohio, when the polling place remained open until 9 p.m., two hours later than Monday.

It’s unclear if voters were getting their civic duty out of the way in anticipation of the weather worsening, and it’s possible early voting will drop off Tuesday.

You know at one time I really like Senator John McCain. And was excited about him running in 2008. Then I listened closely to his campaign speeches and felt that this was not the same person. The President said that he would pass on any information about the action in Libya as soon as he got it. We have heard quite a bit about the action but not from the President. The UN Ambassador came our and made formal announcements about the action to the American people on TV even though it is not her responsibility to do so. She was talking as the administration's spokesperson. Most of what she told us has turned out to be false. We, the American people want to know who gave her the orders and who told here to say what she said. Either the President knows and will not tell us contrary to what the said that he would, or he is completely incompetent, or both. We would like the truth.

I find it interesting that McCain chooses to make his incompetence remarks about Obama at this time, with the terrible hurricane situation in the east. Obama had met and planned with those needed to be prepared to deal with Sandy when she hit and is being kept updated. The mayors and governors can contact him directly without having to go through others, he's accessible to them.

That surely doesn't sound incompetent.

Christie, a republican, has praised Obama highly today, multiple times, for all Obama has done in this situation, that in itself is quite impressive, crossing party lines.

I have no doubt that "MYTH" will try to execute what is stated under the "Stealing Votes and spreadsheet" used. This proves that this is what "MYTH" intends to do in the upcoming election.

But as the spreadsheet shows, the larger the precinct, the numbers start to change dramatically.

“If percentages did not change from one precinct to the next, we would see a flat line, but what we are seeing is sloped lines downward for Democrats and upward for Republicans (or, in the case of the Presidential primary, upward for Romney and downward for his opponents), said Duniho.”

In every election contest, the trend lines dramatically crossed for no apparent reason. It was revealed that votes were being systemically bled off for Rick Santorum and Ron Paul and then being credited to Mitt Romney.

Once Duniho completed the spreadsheet, he pumped in actual vote totals from other Arizona election contests.

He looked at every 2010 race in Arizona from Governor Brewer to Senator McCain and Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. The trends lines all did the exact same thing. Someone had manipulated the election outcome, most likely one person inserting a programme inside the system’s central computer… that flipped votes.

The results were astounding.

They showed that Governor Brewer actually lost her election and Gabby Gifford’s razor thin less than 1% point re-election victory over Tea Party Conservative Jesse Kelly was closer to a 20 point victory for her.

Duniho added, “We need to have strong hand count audits to confirm the integrity of these elections. This means comparing hand counts with official reports of the election.”

Since the most vote tallies will be in the heavily large democratic precincts and MYTH's son Tagg Romney owing voting machine and companies linked to Romney’s investment control in voting machine maker Hart Intercivic and Diebold’s with close ties to George W. Bush; MYTH could easily FLIP at least 10% of votes from those precints.


I just hope MYTH's plan is not executable. Yes, we should have hand ballots like in the UK.

AP: Obama close to 271 electoral votes

As it stands now, the AP says that Republican challenger Mitt Romney "continues to have fewer state-by-state paths than Obama" to reach the 270 electoral votes needed to win, because he is seen as trailing the president in the key state of Ohio.

"Without Ohio's 18 electoral votes, Romney would need last-minute victories in nearly all the remaining up-for-grabs states and manage to pick off key states now leaning Obama's way, such as Iowa or Wisconsin," says the AP.

They are already putting the victory centers ahead of the red cross. What if people don't want to donate to the mormon church.? They are a cultist orginization and alot of people won't support that. Freedom of religion is a great concept but it becomes wrong when religion is forced upon the public. The Romney campaign was asked to not give donated goods. That would hinder red crosses relief efforts because it takes extra time to process those goods before they can be sent out.

A paper published by Francois Choquette (Aerospace Engineer, Statistics, California) and James Johnson (Senior Quantitative Financial Analyst, California) outlined anomalies found throughout the United States in the Republican Presidential Primary that always favored Mitt Romney. The favoritism correlated strongly with precinct size, and did not correlate with any other logical choices (such as population density, income levels, race, etc). The paper asked readers to confirm their analysis and report on findings.

I analyzed the 2012 Presidential Preference Primary in Pima County and confirmed their analysis. I also analyzed two 2012 Board of Supervisors Republican primaries and found no apparent anomalies.

I analyzed many 2010 races and found anomalies in all statewide races, always apparently favoring Republicans (except for propositions). I found no anomalies in the LD28 State Senate race.

The correlation of Republican (or in the case of the Republican Presidential Primary, with Mitt Romney) strongly suggests vote count fraud, which would occur in larger precincts because it is easier to hide it there.

Pima County has persistently refused my requests to sort early ballots before doing the state-required hand-count audit because they say it is too much trouble. These statistics suggest another reason: they may be hiding vote-counting fraud.

If the contention of vote-counting fraud is correct, we could be victimized by vote-continuing fraud in the November election, affecting not just the Presidential race but also state-wide races and possibly county-wide races.

OK I worked out a more detailed solution to beat electronic voting machine fraud.

Print a blue ticket for Obama and a Red ticket for Romney when done.

Have the Voter insert the numbered ticket with thumbprint and signature in a blue or red box.

At 1 gram per ticket, put them in a scale and weigh them.

1000 grams = 1000 tickets.

Biggest pile wins!

ZERO counting.

Compare against voting machine total.

With this system programmers cannot change the outcome.

All we need is a scale and compare numbers in a flash.

The problem with today's manual recounts is the actual work related with counting.

Too much room for human error and takes too long.

A scale can count 100,000 votes in a flash.

This can be done RIGHT NOW.

Just go get those tickets.

Or even a marked penny or token can be used.

Weigh them if needed.

    Still amazing the endless politicizing of the embassy attack in Libya. The 4 Americans who were serving there after the summer of extreme violence and the government being overthrown and with the death of Kadafi knew only too well how extremely dangerous their job was. Eleven years after 911 and after the start of the Afghanistan war and nearly 10 years after the Iraq war started, the situation in the region is as volatile as ever.       The latest news is that the prez has stated that he gave orders for the military to take action while the Benghazi attack was taking place. However, SecDef panetta and the military generals never acted on those orders. Surely our prez wouldn't lie to the whole world when he made such a public statement. The question remains - why did the commanders and SecDef defy the prez's orders or is he throwing his administration under the bus?

      I find it interesting that McCain chooses to make his incompetence remarks about Obama at this time, with the terrible hurricane situation in the east. Obama had met and planned with those needed to be prepared to deal with Sandy when she hit and is being kept updated. The mayors and governors can contact him directly without having to go through others, he's accessible to them.

      That surely doesn't sound incompetent.

      Christie, a republican, has praised Obama highly today, multiple times, for all Obama has done in this situation, that in itself is quite impressive, crossing party lines.

      McCain today just showed what an A$$ he is to go off like that with Obama demonstrating how competent and prepared he is dealing with Sandy.

      Romney previously stated he wants FEMA to go to the states, how stupid. But, considering the source is a stupid and arrogant person who feels he's entitled to be president, not surprising.

      Can you imagine what a fumbling idiot Romney would have proved to be if he had been the one who would have been dealing with Sandy.

      That is one very scary scenario.

      It seems to me that conservatives in this country have a short term and flawed memory. As I recall on March 23, 2011 President Obama's leadership skills put together a NATO Alliance to take over the no-fly zone over Libya in the time frame that the President talked about in the previous week.

      Question: What role did Mr. Obama's Cairo speech have in the spread of the democratic aspirations of the Arab and Northern African peoples now known as the Arab Spring?

      It appears that the President is not merely adequate, but prophetical and superior to many past presidents.

      President Obama and Madame Secretary Clinton developed an outstanding diplomatic effort that formed a coalition and consensus in the U.N. and NATO that stopped a slaughter of thousands of innocent civilian Libyans and that brough the tyrant, murder of Americans (see Pan Am flight 103) and a long time supporter of terrorist, Gaddafi, to his knees.

      That sir is true Leadership. The actions of a few dead enders in Benghazi pales in comparison and God rest their souls when President Obama finds out who and where they are.

      He was a lawyer, writer, and community organizer for most of his life. Those are real jobs.

      Writing and community organizing rely on soft skills, though, so I know what you mean. But, then, that means that he was in touch with the living conditions of people in a way that a "boss" can never be.

      In the end, we're not electing a new owner, foreman, general, or even lawmaker. We're electing a leader for our society. Every president will be good at some things and bad at others. Obama's strength (though he hasn't had much opportunity to exercise it) is his ability to speak to us about our society, give comfort to the disenfranchised, and give hope for a more civilized and just world. Romney's strengths are likely a set of (no less important) traits.

      I want the people of other nations, and the working poor of our nation, to look at our country as an egalitarian society. I want them to see that our leaders aren't afraid to be with the people, to speak their mind, and to hear the minds of others. I want them to see that the social bonds that tie us together are more important than any economic or military capability.

      Right at the moment, the President is the closest to fulfilling that. I like that union workers and the poor feel that they have someone in their corner. I really like that foreign people see the US as a more respectful country than before. I like that people still have the faint hope that social justice will be done.

      That's why I'm voting for Obama. I don't expect others to see it the same way.

      I'm sorry about your flight; but what is all the shouting and malice going to accomplish. It doesn't help me, it doesn't help you, and it's not going to help the country.

I believe the phrase "act of terror" was mentioned quite a ways down in the speech and was spoken in generalities and not directly at the Benghazi attack. Show me where the President made the statement that this was a TERRORIST ATTACK or an attack by Islamic Terrorist, he never mentioned those phrases.

            Now if you have your head out of the sand answer me this: Why did the UN Ambassador go on 5 talk shows to blame the Video, why did Obama mention the video 6 times at the UN Speech and why did the Presidents Press Secretary continue to blame the video? When military and diplomatic personnel sign on they know the risk but they also have the expectation that, if necessary, their government will do everything to come to their aid regardless of the circumstances.

            GM just built their new plant in Mexico while they owe American taxpayers billions of dollars loaned by Obama......

            More than 75% of GM's manufacturing facilities are in the US and Canada and accounts for around 14% of auto manufacture jobs in the US. As a result, we have a shrinking trade deficit with Canada and Mexico. It was well worth the loan, and I'd much rather the government be a creditor than a debtor.

            I might remind you of the awesome amount of money the US taxpayer owes to their fellow citizens, foreign citizens, and investment banks. If they were as rabid about getting their due, the US would be bankrupt.

They think if they make it bad enough for the working people, that these same people will elect Rep's. There wrong. Maybe the rich need to take all there money and move to China.             Politics makes strange bedfellows.

            A Vietnam War hero supporting a guy who gung ho for the War, but spent it proselytizing in France for the Church.

            A moderate Republican,smeared in a political campaign by conservatives, supporting a "severely conservative" right winger.

            A Senator who said we should stay in Iraq "as long as it takes" to make it stable, criticizing a President who dared to set up an embassy in Libya to support a fledgling democracy.

            Amy..This is the Republican hypocrisy. Not one single conservative has ever answered the question regarding the call to war from those who never served like:

            Romney..Special ministerial deferment.

            Cheney..5 Deferments

            Bush....National Guard deferment

            Rush...Medical Deferment

            Bolton...Deferment

            and so on..

            They like to deflect to Clinton. But when reminded that he answered the question as to why he asked for a deferment on the grounds that he opposed the War, All you get is crickets from these guys. His 1 hour interview with Ted Kopple was forthright and extensively covered by the press. No hypocrisy there.

            Not that one has to serve in the military. I get that. But these guys are unbelievable. John McCain is an American Tragedy on many levels.

O and his administration have gotten away with murder -they refuse to provide crucial information to the families whose loved ones were murdered in a planned terrorist attack, and they are being protected by an unethical, complicit and pathetic media. Not to mention they purposely misled the American people for days and weeks after the events in Libya occurred. O, himself, said he takes full responsibility for what happened. He needs to MAN UP and be HONEST with the the families of those who were killed and with the American people, something I do not believe he is capable of doing because he lacks integrity and moral fortitude.

Now those are just the unclassified emails, what the hell do you think was being sent in TOP SECRET transmissions to Washington. It is apparent that you don't know the first thing about the military or the immediate messages by several means when any American military or diplomatic personnel come under an attack. There are contingency plans in place to address these situations immediately, somehow, for whatever reason, someone failed to execute the proper response to try and save these Americans.

I think President Obama may have gotten his top secret scientists to play with the environment and have a horrific storm hit the entire eastern seaboard so that he could cause a distraction, move the voting places and thus cause wide cries of foul when on election day the president is declared the winner.                     Just as John Kerry never was able to get along with President Bush, McCain will never get along with President Obama.

                    Politicians are, by there very nature, very self centered, egotistical, and narcissistic. In order to run for President of the United States, you have to believe that you are the very best person in the world to run a country of over 300,000,000 people; which is the strongest country in the world and that you can convince 50%+1 of the voters in the country that you are the one.

                    When someone convinces the country that you are not the one to be President, you might just have some bitter feelings toward that person. Typically when an elder statesman loses an attempt at the Presidency, they retire from public office. Bob Dole, Al Gore, Dan Quayle, are few examples.

                        There is a difference there in that military personnel know that they can face death at any time, as do their families. The ambassador was the representative of our government and not a military person (neither were the students in Grenada for that matter) and should have been protected by our government as best as possible. Removing security at the embassy and telling the military to stand down tells the entire world that this administration is not interested in protecting its representatives.

                          The world in 2012 is alot different place than it was 30 Years ago. The "Cowboy Diplomacy" of "Brainless Bush" does not work at all. Especially in the Middle East the Unitied States does not want to do anything reckless. The information so far is indicating that the events in Libya happened very quickly. Who was attacking? Where were they attacking from? What group was attacking? Was it a random mob attack? Was it an organized group attack? No one knew at the time! One does not use military force in a reckless manner. An individual needs to know all the facts first, and then carefully react. To just bomb blindly at any group or building is dangerous. The last thing we need to do is stir up the Middle East anymore than we need to. This would be dumb! The example of Grenada is a bad one. This island was in our area of influence, and no other nations are directly next to it. The situation in Grenada was formed over a very long period of time, and the Intelligence Services had the time to figure out the issue correctly. President Obama will collect all the information needed. Our spies/sources will supply him with the correct information needed. The President will discuss all information with his advisors, and then he will pull the correct trigger. Just ask Bin Laden how this works? Oh! That's right! He is dead already. This President loves to kill terrorists every chance he gets. Better yet he really enjoys killing the terrorists truely responsible.

                          I don't know how important honesty is to most people in terms of a characteristic Americans would like in their President, but the statements by Romney in this ad in regard to the Chrysler moving Ohio factory jobs to China is clearly untrue. While I don't like the fact that Obama is as unconcerned with the massive damage to freedom, liberty, privacy, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as Bush, Cheney, and Romney with all this "national security before freedom" illegal "laws" passed to perpetuate a never ending war and clamp down on democracy in America, the balance for me comes down to a politician who will say or do anything, including lie, change positions on a whim and tell half the nation, mostly retired folks, veterans and the disabled that they are just a bunch of "takers" just because they no longer need to pay income tax. This ad shows that Romney has an "ethics be dammed" approach to power and that isn't what America needs.

                          Joel............This is NOT old news, but it is the very least that NBC could report without taking the chance of embarrassing Obama.

                          What NBC did NOT include was that the attacks in Benghazi went on for over 6 hours! That during that time, our two Navy Seals at a nearby CIA building were denied permission to assist the ambassador's compound under attack. An hour later those same Seals were again told to "stand down", but this time they disobeyed orders and rushed to the compound and rescued those they could find and went back to their CIA building.

                          Up to that time 2 hours had passed since the first shots were fired. At their CIA building the Seals fought on for over 4 more hours during which they tried in vain to get the military to send helicopter gunships that were only 2 hours away so that the Seals could mark targets for the missiles with their lasers. The Seals were killed by mortar fire.

                          All that time a drone with video capability recorded the fighting and was later replaced by a fresh drone. The video had to have been on display in Washington, and our yellow bellied Comander in Chief did absolutely nothing! And then Obama lied for a week saying that he didn't know if it was a terrorist attack.

                          THAT piece of ****...........That is YOUR president.

                            Timing not the greatest, but facts that need to come out on Benghazi. The the mortar tube was "painted" as a target, but no missile came. Reinforcements were nearby, but never given orders. C-130 nearby , never given orders. All of this is coming out. Not by the White House, but the media.

                            Mitt Romney has lied 533 times in the past 30 weeks. That's not an estimation, Steve Bennen has meticulously documented each one. All of Benen's documentations are verified and sourced. Romney is a proven pathological liar.
                            Well okay, Romney is a two faced, but so what, we all know presidents are nothing without their VP and cabinet. I'm sure his running mate has some honesty tucked away in his bulging money clip right?

                            It appears Paul Ryan is attempting to set the record for the most blatant lies a national figure has ever uttered.
                            Truth be told, I'm not a fan of republicans, or democrats. They are all time tested liars. It boggles my mind that these men and anyone who remotely resembles them are allowed anywhere near a decision making role.
                            Seriously, what scuzzy fraternity do so many of our politicians crawl out of and how do we not see their fake smiles and smell their crisp $100 bill lined pockets from a mile away?

                            McCain is a bitter old man who can't get over his Presidential loss 2008. His mantra was "Country First" and that's why he picked a "Hillbillie from Wasilla to be his running mate - I'm sorry but he needs to retire and spew his hatred in a retirement home in the desert.

                            McCain would not have been my first choice last election. I think this country wanted hope and change and Obama promised that. But, I'm not better off as an independent now.. My kids are not better off. and Obama PROMISED he would cut the deficit and that if he couldn't get it done in 3 years then he would be a 1 term president.. He said that.. I can't trust him anymore.. He tried, but I believe he has failed. I'm voting Romney this time around. Obama IS lying to the American people about the Lybia issue and I can't trust him anymore.

                            Doc, that's gimp. You know full well that he had underestimated the racial hatred residing in the Republican party and had no idea they were planning to break all records of obstructive actions to hamper any progress during his administration.

                            You can fault him for underestimating the filth in the Republican closets, but you ought to give him a break for the herculian failures and treasonous acts of the party you're about to mistakenly vote for again.
