Recently Romney has been saying he has the momentum and he will win on November 6th. Yesterday Governor John Kasich also predicted that Romney would win in Ohio. These are more empty words and wishful thinking from team Romney. The belief is that actions speak louder than words so let's look at their actions.

1.Their actions have become uglier in the last 4 days as the Romney camp has injected race into the national dialogue. John Sununu played the race card saying Colin Powell is supporting President Obama because they are both of the same race. Thanks to Sununu's race baiting, what should have been a one day story has now become a four day story.

2.Sarah Palin goes racist with her "shucking and jiving" comments. For the uninformed, it is an old term when black slaves were shucking corn and teasing one another with clever lies. Today we might call it "talking trash".

3.Now we are seeing Billboards near Atlanta with President Obama depicted a Hitler and words like "communist".

4.Ann Coulter called the President "retarded".

5.Romney is now avoiding the mainstream media as he does not want to answer questions on abortion, Richard Mourdock's comments about God's will involving rape victims, his tax plan, his position on equal pay for women, the Ryan budget, and the list goes on.

6.Romney is spending even more money with more ads in the swing states. If he were winning, there would be no need to buy more ads.

7.In a stump speech in Defiance Ohio, Romney attempted to scare onlookers saying that Jeep was moving all their production jobs to China. Romney never attempted to verify the story and it was a lie. Romney was completely insensitive to the impact his comments had on Ohio workers. Chrysler immediately reported that the story lacked any measure of truth.

What we are seeing is not words and actions from the fringe right, but from top-down mainstream Republican thinking. These actions are clear evidence that the GOP is losing this election and they know it. While it is very close in the swing states, the polls are shifting toward the President and Obama will win Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Hampshire, and yes, Virginia. Willard Romney lacks integrity, has lied way too many times and rational voters simply cannot trust him.

In my world, you don’t get to call yourself “pro-life” and be against common-sense gun control — like banning public access to the kind of semiautomatic assault rifle, designed for warfare, that was used recently in a Colorado theater. You don’t get to call yourself “pro-life” and want to shut down the Environmental Protection Agency, which ensures clean air and clean water, prevents childhood asthma, preserves biodiversity and combats climate change that could disrupt every life on the planet. You don’t get to call yourself “pro-life” and oppose programs like Head Start that provide basic education, health and nutrition for the most disadvantaged children. The term “pro-life” should be a shorthand for respect for the sanctity of life. But I will not let that label apply to people for whom sanctity for life begins at conception and ends at birth. What about the rest of life? Respect for the sanctity of life, if you believe that it begins at conception, cannot end at birth. That radical narrowing of our concern for the sanctity of life is leading to terrible distortions in our society.

Respect for life has to include respect for how that life is lived, enhanced and protected — not only at the moment of conception but afterward, in the course of that life. That’s why, for me, the most “pro-life” politician in America is New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. While he supports a woman’s right to choose, he has also used his position to promote a whole set of policies that enhance everyone’s quality of life — from his ban on smoking in bars and city parks to reduce cancer, to his ban on the sale in New York City of giant sugary drinks to combat obesity and diabetes, to his requirement for posting calorie counts on menus in chain restaurants, to his push to reinstate the expired federal ban on assault weapons and other forms of common-sense gun control, to his support for early childhood education, to his support for mitigating disruptive climate change.

Now that is what I call “pro-life.”

Romney's statement was a whopper lie to instill fear just as was Mitt's message to company heads encouraging them to tell their workers they could lose their jobs if President Obama is re-elected. That is gutter politics in addition to blackmail and being anti-democracy. In his Ohio Chrysler comment, Romney took the words of a right-wing blogger as fact; Romney and his team are so incurious that they do not even check if an article was factual. It is an example of why Romney should never be elected president; he would likely make his decisions on incomplete information in both domestic and foreign policy. That is a scary thought.

At a campaign rally in Iowa last week at a company named Kinzler, Mitt Romney lied again and said the stimulus did not work yet Kinzler received $689,314 from the stimulus--it saved many of those workers' jobs.

Backhouse, in China, Sensata will pay its workers less than $1 an hour, they will work 10-12 hour days with ONE day off per MONTH, sleep in crowded dormitories. That is slavery under the guise of capitalism. Bain Sensata actually receives a tax break for the cost of shipping Senata equipment to China. Romney claims to love this country and hate China yet Bain and firms like it continue to fuel communist China at the cost of American jobs. Romney, Bain are the "Ugly American".

I have every faith that the majority of Americans are not falling for Romney's shell game. We can't afford another 4 years like these past 4 years!

Rasmussen (the most accurate and least biased pollster in the 2004 & 2008 Presidential elections - average error of 1%) has Romney ahead by 2% (49% to 47%), and Gallup (who had a distinct pro-Democratic bias in 2004 & 2008 - average error of 3.05%) has Romney ahead by 4%.

More importantly, Rasmussen has Romney ahead in the 'Swing States' by 4% (50% to 46%).

Obama can't seem to get above 47%, which is probably where he will end up Nationally.

The most important States are Ohio and Wisconsin where they are essentially tied - Obama must win both States, while Romney just has to win one of them.

On foreign policy Romney has gravitated toward Obama’s caution, and I tend to believe him, if only because whoever is president will have his hands too full at home to embark on a war in Iran or Syria as long as it is avoidable.

Obama scrapped his campaigning plans because of the hurricane?  Well, good for him.  Maybe he IS capable of learning occasionally- after all, he jetted off to Vegas to campaign on September 12- so the deaths of four Americans sure didn't slow him down.  Then again, he was supposed to be down here in Florida- where my husband and I are grounded until at least Wednesday, due to the storm-and Obama knows he doesn't have a prayer of carrying this state, so why waste the effort?

Ask yourself, what kind of a President would lie, repeatedly, about such an event?  From the beginning, when we were told that this arose from a bunch of rowdies upset about an obscure video, (which turned out not to be true), to today-weeks later- we have not been told the truth about anything that happened in Benghazi.  

Then, ask yourself this question:  what kind of Commander in Chief would order people trying desperately-at the the cost of their own lives- to "stand down" from protecting other Americans?

We were told that there was no way to know what happened- then learned that the administration watched the attack in real time-film you just saw, if you clicked the link.  So, Obama was not in the dark about what happened- he watched it- or would have, if he had been engaged.  So, he lied about what he knew.

He lied, and continues to lie, about his actions while the attack was ongoing-  on October 26, while campaigning in Denver, Obama said this

Of course, it has been revealed that not only was no help dispatched, but those doing the protecting were ordered to "stand down".  The CIA, through Gen. Petraeus, insists that no one at that agency gave the order to stand down. 

More disturbingly, on October 25, in what can only be described as a garbled statement, Leon Panetta, Secretary of Defense,  stated that troops could not be sent into harm's way, because, well, you never know- it could be dangerous.

Are we to believe that the SoD countermanded the orders of the Commander in Chief- and is still employed?

Are we to accept a president so flawed that he cannot tell the truth about an attack that cost the lives of four Americans?

I cannot.  

Funny how the Obama toadies don't want an investigation into the Benghazi fiasco.

Have we heard about GE touting themselves as champions of the factory worker? Of course we have. GE has also recently closed more than 20 factories, shifted avionics and radiology businesses to China according to Reuters, and pushed for public policies that will allow them to continue that course.

GE is self-identifying "core" manufacturing interests, as though its other manufacturing interests simply vanished from the books. The truth is, they closed many of those plants here in America. According to GE's own records and statements, it had 125,000 U.S. manufacturing jobs in 2000 compared to 50,000 in 2010.

Government records show at least 38 events since 2001 in which workers at GE plants in the U.S. were made eligible for trade adjustment assistance due to outsourcing or import competition.

Immelt has referred to China as GE's "second home market"

Does it bother you that Apple, the manufacturer of iPod’s, iPad’s, Mac’s or other products you probably own, employs over 200,000 in China and Europe?

There are many scenarios that can take place with the electrical votes. Romney actually doesn't have to win OH or WI for that fact if he wins Pennsylvania. No one is watching PA (20) and this is a State that might just be the deciding factor in this race, not OH. If Obama wins OH, but loses PA, he loses. If Romney loses OH he can still win. But if he picks up PA, he wins.

There is no such provision in the IRS Tax Code. All business expenses are merely tax deductible - including moving a factory from Seattle to Colorado - or China. There is no 'special tax advantage' to moving any operations overseas - actually, it's usually far more expensive to 'move' operations than to just open up a new operation - anywhere.

Well it appears that the taxpayer bailed-out Chrysler is looking back and now considering cutting costs by shifting production of all Jeeps to China, which has a strong desire for Jeeps.

In a Bloomberg interview, Jeep's president said the automaker plans to restore Jeep production in China, suspended in 2009, and is considering making all Jeeps in China. "Fiat SpA, majority owner of Chrysler Group LLC, plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country, according to the head of both automakers' operations in the region," reported the business wire service.

Mike Manley, chief operating officer of Fiat and Chrysler in Asia and president of the Jeep brand, told Bloomberg, "We're reviewing the opportunities within existing capacity" as well as "should we be localizing the entire Jeep portfolio or some of the Jeep portfolio" to China.

Chrysler builds Jeep SUV models at plants in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Manley said the firm is in talks with China's Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.

Obama handed over billions of dollars in loan guarantees and stimulus awards pursuant to his goal of putting one-million electric vehicles on the road by 2015. Much of that money ended up leaving our shores. A $2.4 billion stimulus program to support battery production sent nearly half of its money to foreign firms, including two South Korean companies that used their awards to hire foreign nationals in Michigan to do work that Americans easily could have done. In the end, despite all the money Obama handed out, electric vehicle sales have lagged and The Washington Post deemed his goal of one million electric cars "overly optimistic."

Obama's stimulus included over $8.5 billion in grants for wind farms that flowed overseas, despite Congressional criticism from both sides of the aisle. In total, over half of the money went to either foreign developers or foreign wind turbine manufacturers, creating thousands of jobs overseas with money that was supposed to create jobs within the United States. Even worse, hundreds of millions of dollars went to wind farms that began construction before the stimulus was passed. The end result of all this spending: the wind energy industry lost 10,000 jobs last year.

Manufacturing TaxCredits

As Obama was doling out over $2.3 billion in clean energy manufacturing tax credits that were supposed to create jobs in America, $880 million went to foreign firms. Worse still, some of those same recipients are now closing up shop and shipping jobs overseas.

Remember Solyndra? The problems with Obama's loan guarantee program don't end there. The largest recipient of Obama's program to jumpstart green energy projects was the Spanish Company Abengoa, which took in $2.7 billion in loan guarantees for three of its projects. My guess is that when President Obama wins Iowa, the Register will rethink its decision about a year ago which changed the editorial page from nonpartisan to leaning conservative.

The pundits in their infinite wisdom don't seem to have picked up on the fact that newspapers might switch parties because of changes in the composition of the editorial boards. The Houston Chronicle endorsed Obama in 2008 but it endorsed Romney this time, which is what I had expected since the opinion columns and letters to the editor have been increasingly dominated by right wingers since 2008.

Of course, the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune might have become more progressive in the recent past, although I don't know of any evidence that they have. To the small extent that newspaper endorsements have any significance at all, maybe it's better to examine the reasoning or lack thereof behind their endorsements rather than making a big deal out of a few papers switching from Democrat to Republican or vice versa.

A package of disaster relief funding worth $7 billion was blocked from coming up for a vote by Senate Republicans on Monday, drawing sharp condemnation from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) who lambasted the conservative party for abandoning Americans in need.

“Last night, Democrats tried to move forward on a measure that would have granted the Federal Emergency Management Agency additional funding to help communities devastated by natural disasters,” Sen. Reid said in an advisory.

“This ought to be the least political issue going – whether to reach out a helping hand to our friends and neighbors in their time of need,” he continued. “They have lost friends and loved ones. Their homes, businesses and livelihoods have been destroyed by acts of god. Their communities are under water or reduced to rubble.

“It’s in our power to help them. But last night Republicans overwhelmingly voted to prevent us from coming to their aid. They prevented us from getting disaster aid to American families and businesses that need it now.”

The vote was 53-33, with Republicans uniting against measure that would have brought the aid package to a vote and put a rush on some emergency funds. A 60-vote majority was required to pass it.

“They don’t need help next week or next month,” Reid railed. “They need it now. They need it today.”

He added that because of the increased number of natural disasters this year, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has just over $300 million left. President Barack Obama has issued disaster declarations in 48 states since the beginning of 2011.

The funds are so low, Reid said, that FEMA has stopped rebuilding the town of Joplin, Missouri, which was practically destroyed by tornadoes earlier this year. It withdrew funding for the Joplin rebuilding in order to provide food and shelter to the victims of Hurricane Irene.

We have mentioned before (here and here) about how Eric Cantor has said he will block relief funds without offsetting cuts. He threatened to do it with funds for relief in Joplin, MO after their devastating F5 tornado, and again with Hurricane Irene. Apparently, the outcry about his positions did nothing to change the Republican mindset, and last night they voted to block a FEMA funding bill, never allowing it to come to a vote. Via Raw Story:

So – flooding victims aren’t getting the funds, and the people of Joplin are being victimized again, not by an act of God but an act of Senate Republicans. Keep in mind that this wasn’t a vote to deny the funds. It was a vote to deny the funding ever being considered. Maybe they thought that if it didn’t come up for a full vote, they could sweep it under the rug. I have a hunch those folks who have lost homes, businesses – even family members – won’t be so eager to see this swept away without full consideration.

Disaster relief is one of the things that government is best suited for. But as the constant drone from the right tells us, we should have no government. That somehow, these people should be able to fend for themselves when these disasters happen. As Ron Paul said in the CNN/Tea Party Express debate, that’s freedom.

In this case, it’s the freedom to lose everything you own and care about, and not get any help in recovering. I hope the folks in these hard-hit areas remember who pulled the rug out from under them when the 2012 elections roll around.

Since Obama was watching the attack in Benghazi in 'real-time' via a drone camera, and the attacks lasted for about 7 hours (plenty of time to send rescuers), I'd like to know who issued the orders to 'stand down' (don't try to help) to those who repeatedly asked for permission to assist the Ambassador and his staff. The real heroes in this were the two ex-Navy Seals that ignored Obama's order to not help the Ambassador and went to try to rescue him anyway.

How is Rasmussen Poll so accurate. In 2008, his Poll had Mccain and Obama tied in OH, Mccain up by 1 in FL. And what was the outcome, Obama won but states by more than 2 % points. If you wanna talk stats, you need to look at State Polls not somebody's National Poll. State Polls in VA as of this morning has Obama leading by 5 points in VA. State polls in OH has Obama leading by 4. FACTS. Early Voting in OH, Obama leads 60% to Romney 30% and these are from people already voted not some silly national POLL. I'm a US manufacturer. For an employee starting at $15.00 per hour, the wage accounts for 40 of the cost of that hire. And when we compete against product made in China we cost our product at $0.00 per hour just to see if we can compete. China financially subsidizes their manufacturers, all of them. They tariff US goods in terms of fees. In 2010 we lost a $500K bid supplying a US company working in China. First we had to argue that we we manufactured could not be sourced in China. We won that, but in return China slapped us with a 55% import fee. The US company cancelled the purchase order.

For me, I'd rather sell to 400 million people in a nation with a healthy employed working class, than a country that has over a Billion people that make $.90 per hour. I mean, really. What are they going to buy from us?

Trade wars don't work for countries that manufacture and export. They do work for those that no longer have net positive exports and are non-manufacturing importers.

Romney is crafty enough to know that a misleading insinuation is sometimes more effective than an outright lie.

Romney/Ryan 2012 for a new financial direction

No kidding. Mr Romney keeps talking about "turning the economy around." Let us take a closer look at what a new financial direction and turning the economy around means:

The deficit - Obama has cut the deficit by 21% last year and it is projected to keep dropping in the years ahead, thanks to his policies. A new financial direction means a much larger deficit.

Unemployment - we have seen a steady drop in unemployment due to Obama's policies. A new financial direction means a rise in unemployment.

GDP growth - when Obama took office, the economy was contracting severely. Obama turned that around. Turning the economy around means making it smaller again.

Wall Street - the market is nearing record highs. During Obama's term, it has almost doubled. This is justified by the fact that US companies are very competitive now - they have near-record profits. A new financial direction means going back to the Bush years where the market was dropping a rock.

Think carefully about what "turning the economy around" means. So maybe it's just a nice phrase that Mr Romney uses. But then, do we really want to be led by someone who has such a poor understanding of where the economy is?

If you listen carefully, you will note that Mr Romney is a man who really doesn't pay attention to what's going on - with his own country. The very country that he wants to lead. He didn't know what had happened in Ben Ghazi. He didn't know that Chrysler is NOT shipping all of its production to China.

It would be insane to trust him with the country.

Here's an idea, the medicare tax should be a paygo. Whatever medicare costs should be the amount taxed. So, if in the next few years the costs go up as expected then the tax should rise automatically. That way if people see the actual effects of government spending. The same should be true for Social Security.

And if Harry Reid wants more funds for FEMA he can divert them from his Cowboy Poetry competition first.

Actually, the House voted for $376 million in cuts. The Senate was able to restore almost $80 million so the total cut ended up being around $300 million.

When Romney left Bain his stock was converted to a retirement plan in lieu of a pension. When you do that you have still have ownership, but NO say in what the company does. Today, these are called an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). They are a retirement plan.

I have one of those for the company that laid me off three years ago. If I tried to tell them to this or that they would laugh at me, because all my rights of operating the company were transferred to the chief operating officer. At Bane that is Matt Levin. He is the managing partner and the one calling the shots at Bain Capital since 1999 when Romney took a leave of absence that transferred his Responsibilities to Matt Levin.

Here is a little something on the S Corps-- It was posted by a Senior Revenue Agent.

The loop hole (tax avoidance) kicks in when the S Corp is owned by an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). If the ESOP is the sole owner of the S Corp, all income flows to the ESOP which is exempt from taxation as a qualified retirement plan (IRC 401(a). Exempt entities such as retirement plans and other exempt organizations are supposed to own and operate businesses; if they do, the income is "UBI" (Unrelated Business Income) and the entity (ESOP) has a liability for UBIT (Unrelated Business Income Tax). The Tax Reform Act of 1997 eliminated the UBI and UBIT problem for S Corps owned by ESOP's ONLY. The code section born from the TRA of '97 is IRC 512(e)(3). The effective date of the TRA '97 was 1/1/1998; many of these setups were born that day, some new and others where the company went private (bought back publicly held shares) or bought the shares from the owners and amended an existing ESOP to take advantage of this new IRC section.

The end result is a corporation owned by a retirement plan and neither entity paying any income taxes. Some large multi-national corporations are doing this and practice or setup is growing like a weed. Your congress authored this mess and kept expanding on it. Now they want to enact the possibility for an IRC 1042 tax free sale of the owners' shares t the ESOP. Why? It's simple -- the sale of the shares is not income to the owner if they replace the shares with "like kind" or "similar shares" within 36 months. Several things happen at the conclusion of setting this up. Corporation pays no tax --owner has no reportable income from sale of his shares to the ESOP and therefore no income tax hit here either and in some cases, if done from publicly held corporation (converted to privately held with fewer than 100 owners or just the 1, the ESOP) no more reporting to the SEC either. All other taxes still apply, such as payroll (withholding of federal, state, local, SS and Medicare). Interesting indeed!

Predictably, some sensitive souls charged that the former Alaska governor's use of "shuck and jive" smacks of racism. But quite frankly, if all racism were this mild, I think we'd have a much happier world.

I am much more concerned about Palin's central charge. "Benghazi lies" has become like "Obama's phony birth certificate," a bundle of allegations based less on a desire to find the truth than to feather one's nest as a five-star foe of the president.

Republicans and other conservatives have alleged that Team Obama tried to protect the president's re-election chances by blaming the attack on a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Muslim YouTube video, made in the USA, that touched off violent protests in Cairo that day.

Palin's outrage was set off by a newly reported State Department email that indicates the Obama administration knew while the consulate was under siege that an al-Qaida affiliate, not a spontaneous uprising, claimed responsibility.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and two other Senate Republicans also wrote this past Wednesday to Obama, saying: "These emails make clear that your administration knew within two hours of the attack that it was a terrorist act and that Ansar al-Sharia, a Libyan militant group with links to al-Qaida, had claimed responsibility for it."

But not quite. Closer examination reveals that the email may only have been one of several inaccurate spot reports on a chaotic, confusing and rapidly changing situation.

No, as the president corrected him, by simply citing the transcript, available on the White House website, of his speech in the Rose Garden on Sept. 12.

Obama also could have cited the transcript of his campaign speech the next day in Golden, Colo., where he was even more specific about the "act of terror" that "killed our fellow Americans."

Or he could have cited a CBS "60 Minutes" interview he recorded just before he stepped into the Rose Garden on Sept. 12, in which he discounted the video and instead suspected "folks involved in this who were looking to target Americans from the start."

United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice aroused the political right the following Sunday by mentioning the anti-Muslim video on TV talk shows. But she also added that "soon after that spontaneous protest," the best information indicated "extremist elements" joined the mob "with heavy weapons."

U.S. intelligence had uncovered evidence that same weekend that discredited earlier reports of a video-inspired protest, but the new information did not get to Rice before her talk show appearances, CBS News and Washington Post columnist David Ignatius reported Oct. 19.

All of this needs to be investigated, but investigations take time, especially when even the FBI has had trouble getting in and out of the crime scene.

Unfortunately, the worst time for a slow-moving investigation is during a tight presidential race, but it's a great time for paranoid politics.

On the matter of tariffs, generally I consider them a last resort when dealing with a grossly uneven, government-controlled playing field. Not the same, but on a par with currency manipulation. The Chinese are buying from the U. S., but clearly there is an imbalance. On that note, last year they imported $104B, and are in that ballpark again, so far, this year.

Don't Carry it all

It is probably more sickening for the person who has one. I have to wait an plan stipulated amount of time from parting ways to apply for the value, and then the plan has 5 years to begin to pay whether in installments or by lump sum. If I were to die or retire, then the waiting period is waived.

I get an annual statement that gives me a clue as to the financial state of the company. The first couple of years the value declined slightly, but last year, the value dropped to about 74% of what I had accumulated.

The plans have advantages in that as an active employe, the ESOP holder does get a share of the company profits and a share of the shares not vested when people leave, but the company basically only has to make good on what the value is when people make a claim.

I'm probably not going to use and ESOP once I get rolling.

It's amusing reading the little Libbies comments about Barrack Hussein saving the "auto industry".

He didn't save an industry.

He saved 2 auto manufacturers that by all rights should have been allowed to collapse. Chrysler already suffered bankruptcy in the 80's and never had more than its fan base support afterwards.

GM had been hemorrhaging since 2000 under incompetent leadership and distorted vision. Roger Smith single handedly drove the company to insolvency by methodically selling off its assets to fatten up the bottom line to insure his, and his cronies, salaries and performance bonuses didn't suffer.

The auto industry was doing fine otherwise. Obviously Ford, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, KIA and others were affected by the recession but not to the level of GM and Chrysler who were simply results of incompetent management and bad marketing decisions.

Today we are no longer just the "Big Three" in its historic sense. The US auto industry is an amalgam of domestic and foreign manufacturers. The Big Three is not even a true description as Chrysler is now a foreign company owned by Italy's Fiat.

GM should have and could have gone through a LEGAL Chapter 11 bankruptcy under the rule of law. The fact that first Bush and then Barrack Hussein abrogated the purpose and structure of the TARP bailouts should be alarming to even the staunchest Liberal Constitution haters. Barrack Hussein, being an alleged Constitutional scholar, should have seen this and disallowed it. His Constitutional usurpations have been many unfortunately.

The notion that credit was "frozen" is nonsense. As Romney stated, all the government had to do was to back the investors that would have been screaming to be a part of restructuring 2 companies like GM or Chrysler and the process would have been complete. If it was so impossible, how did Fiat buy Chrysler? They would have done it with government money or money from banks backed by the government.

The big difference would have been the fact that in a legal bankruptcy, the laws established would have been enforced. Rightful creditors and bond holders would have been made whole rather than crony unions and their bloated pensions. Maintaining contractual agreements is one of the federal governments Enumerated Powers. This was not only ignored, it was violated.

Yes, George Bush and Barrack Hussein saved GM, they DID NOT save an industry. Ford is the better company, Chrysler is a foreign company now and GM will continue to struggle under the mandates of government ideology rather than market forces. The abysmal failure of the Chevy Volt is proof of the governments incompetence. Forcing "green" products on uninterested consumers will never fix GM.

GM, still owes US taxpayers over $42 Billion. $27 billion is owed on the nearly $50 billion it received from the auto bailout and Ally Bank, the company’s lending arm, owes $14.7 billion of the $17.2 billion taxpayer-funded bailout it received.

GM has posted profits of $4.7 billion in 2010 and $7.6 billion in 2011, where is the tax-payers portion of those profits? When will GM start repaying its outstanding debt? Profits have fallen 41% this last quarter. GM’s developments of models that will reach the new CAFÉ standards are less than promising.

GM shares are currently trading at $23 a share. In order to recover our investment GM shares need to trade at greater than $53. This could take decades.

An auto company wasn’t saved, it was given a second chance. History is not on GM’s side. The question is, how badly taxpayers and future Constitutional decisions will be affected?

The simplest solution is to not give Barrack Hussein any further chances to abuse the rule of law for his cronies and the unions.

Also, has anyone noticed that those celebs, entrepreneurs, politicians, who are now supporting Romney, are the exact same wealthy elitist, who do not want to pay more taxes than what the Middle Class Americans already pay? Many of those wealthy supporters pay no taxes at all. Prior to Romney announcing his candidacy and adjusting his taxes to present a better picture to us, he paid around 2.9 % in taxes, which is the reason he does not want to show us anything prior to 2010. Why else would he hide the facts when all other candidates including Obama have shown 10 or more years of tax reports??? That's just more of the Republicans so called idea of transparency. His wife claims that, "YOU PEOPLE don't need to know our taxes! That's none of your business." Now doesn't that sound just like Bush when he announced that we would be told about the wars, economic plans, etc. on a NEED-TO-KNOW BASIS? Does the U.S. need a lying flip-flopping crook with no transparency for a Pres. so that he can have everyone below him pay more taxes to cover his tax short comings, spend more money on the military expansions for preparation for going off to more unpaid for wars just like Bush did???? Do the wealthy elite need more tax breaks as Romney declared in his National TV Debate? I'm willing to bet that 3/4 of the whiny radical right wingers on this site did not watch both Convention anymore than they watched ALL 4 of the National Debates, plus one more with the Independent Candidates. I'm willing to bet with 100% certainty that those same blind, whiny complainers have spent no time of their own researching the candidates. Instead, they lazily parrot spew back the false campaign ads. How ignorant they are?!?! Our economic progress has been slow, but yet still moves forward in spite of the hateful Republicans plans from day one during the Inauguration to block all Democratic Policies, etc. Just take a close look at their voting records. Look back just 3 weeks ago when the Republicans voted down the Veterans Assistance Bill. It's about time for everyone to face the true facts that Republican politicians have no concerns or problems with sending the young people off to unnecessary/invalid/unpaid wars, and they could care less about the Veterans after they return back home. They could care even less to the facts that many of these soldiers are homeless after losing their homes to foreclosure that was caused by the wealthy crooks on Wall Street. They same elitist have known for some time about Obama's intentions to reform the tax structure which would mean more taxes out of their own pockets. Why else do you think that they are paying such exorbitant amounts of money to the campaigns? Isn't it funny that these exact same people didn't have this money to show some patriotism by hiring workers? Plain and simple. Romney, in the G-O-P primary debates, said that using federal money (adding to our national debt) for FEMA disaster relief is immoral. That we should leave disaster relief to the states..

The private sector. Because when we think of millions of lives possibly being destroyed and Americans in desperate need for help, of course the best option to provide that assistance are organizations who operate for profit.

And for those who don't believe he said this, here's his response when asked about FEMA assistance and should the federal government leave it up to the states (leaving out federal money):

The whole purpose of quoting the latest polling from Ohio and the 'swing states' (Post #1.219) was because they are critical to the Electoral College.

In Virginia, polling indicates that Obama leads among the college educated and college attendees. Romney leads among the non post secondary educated group.

The problem with your survey Roy, is that people who have already voted, and the number is somewhere in the 25% range and they appear to be highly Democratic, are no longer considered likely to vote and therefore drop out of the equation. So you post a right leaning slanted poll number.

Remove the bias from your poll if you are going to post it.
