CELINA, Ohio – As Hurricane Sandy makes its way up the Eastern Seaboard, GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign has decided to not only cancel all events in the storm’s path but also stop sending fundraising appeals in several states that will likely be affected.
The Romney campaign will halt fundraising efforts in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the duration of the storm, adviser Kevin Madden told reporters following a rally here.
This news comes just a day after Romney himself was forced to cancel stops in the battleground state of Virginia Sunday so that emergency personnel could focus on storm preparations. The Republican presidential nominee headed to Ohio instead, meeting up with his running mate, Paul Ryan, for the conclusion of a two-day bus tour across the Buckeye State.
"Our top concern is safety and security and making sure that people who are in the presumed track of the storm are safe and that we're not taking away from response efforts, that's why we cancelled our events there today," Madden said.
Romney spoke about Hurricane Sandy while in Findlay, Ohio Sunday evening, telling the crowd: "I know that right now some people in the country are a little nervous about a storm about to hit the coast. And our thoughts and prayers are with the people who will find themselves in harm's way."
The campaign announced that Romney's event in Milford, N.H. on Tuesday is now cancelled due to the impending weather.
Ryan also discussed the storm and those in its path at the top of his remarks today.
“Look, first let me start on a slightly different note. Let’s today when we get home put in our prayers the people who are in the east coast in the wake of this big storm that’s coming. Let’s not forget those fellow Americans of ours,” Ryan told a crowd of roughly 2,000 supporters.
Thousands of people have already been ordered to evacuate along the East Coast as Hurricane Sandy begins to make landfall. States of emergency have been declared in nine states and D.C.
Romney-Ryan and Victory offices across Virginia are collecting donations in preparation for storm relief efforts and Madden told reporters the campaign is in constant communication with their regional offices and indicated that the campaign may have to cancel more events, depending on the storm's impact.
“Our folks in headquarters are staying in contact with folks in the states to get the best assessment on the storm and how it’s impacting the states, so we're just continuing to get updated on it,” Madden said.

Chrysler, responding to presidential nominee Mitt Romney's remark that Jeep was "thinking of" moving to China, says Jeep production will stay in North America.
Ranieri said Chrysler "has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China," but is "reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China for the world's largest auto market."
He said U.S. Jeep assembly lines will remain in operation.

They didn't deny that they were looking at operations in China. Just that they won't stop operations here. Just like GM, if it wasn't for the manufacturing and sales in China, Toyota would still be number one.

Real Clear Politics (RCP) is consistently cited by both FOXNEWS and NBCNEWS as a current source for
reliable averaged polling data at every level of American politics.
RCP on Thursday returned North Carolina (NC) to the status of "toss-up state," and in so doing, reduced Romney's likely electoral vote tally from 206 to 191. However, Romney still holds a strong although softening lead of 3.8% in NC and remains the favorite to capture that state in the upcoming election.
In sum, RCP now considers the following eleven states, listed in descending order of electoral votes, as "toss-up": Florida (FL), Pennsylvania (PA), Ohio (OH), Michigan (MI), North Carolina (NC),Virginia (VA), Colorado (CO), Wisconsin (WI), Iowa IO), Nevada (NV) and New Hampshire (NH).
With only 9 days left in the 2012 presidential campaign, Obama leads in seven of the toss-ups, Romney leads in two, and in CO and VA as of late yesterday the candidates are now tied.
In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged numbers from RCP as of 4:37pm today together with the FiveThirtyEight election night probability of victory for either candidate:

In PA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 4.7%, down from 4.8% on Friday.
However, FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 94.4% chance of winning PA, up from yesterday's 94.0%.

In MI, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead is holding at 4.0%.
FiveThirtyEight currently gives Obama a 98.2% chance of winning MI, up from yesterday's 98.0%.

So…
For Obama to win re-election, the easiest route still appears to be through maintaining his existing lead in five of the six toss-up states where his current margins are widest: PA, MI, NV, WI, and OH. Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271. In this scenario, Obama could still surpass 270 while failing to hold either IO or NH.
However, should Obama lose the critically important and highly-contested state of OH, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently predicting Obama victories:
Path #1: Obama fails to hold OH but wins IO, NH, and CO resulting in 272 electoral votes.
Path #2: Obama fails to hold OH but wins IO and VA resulting in 272 electoral votes.
Path #3: Obama fails to hold OH but wins CO and VA resulting in 275 electoral votes.
However, regarding Path #1, there is some question as to the accuracy of the RCP polling numbers in NH which includes in their average a recent 'outlier' finding from UNH which has Obama leading by an overwhelming 9.0%.
For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the two states in which he presently leads, FL and NC, bringing his electoral vote total to 235, but also steal victories in CO where his lead fell from 0.4% on Friday to that of dead heat, in VA where his lead fell from 1.0% yesterday to another dead heat, and finally with OH where Obama's lead fell today to 1.9%. By so doing, Romney's electoral vote total would reach 275.
Should Romney take CO and VA but fail to take OH, he could overcome this shortfall by stealing WI and either IO or NH, resulting respectively in an electoral vote total of 273 or 271.
With only nine days of campaigning left, this one may come down to the wire…. and to the October jobs report.
Let's hope that Election Day is free of both voter fraud and voter intimidation and that eligible voters who have registered in good faith over the past six months are in fact able to vote on November 6; let's also hope that vote tabulation itself is performed honestly and accurately by both the election commissions and private corporations to whom this essential role is being entrusted.
In any case, it will be interesting to watch as election night unfolds.

On the day before an election that's supposed to hinge on jobs, taxes and the middle class, Bain Capital, the company Mitt Romney founded, will close the doors of a factory in Freeport, Illinois, and ship 170 good, high-tech jobs to China.
The employees of Sensata Technologies were forced to train their Chinese replacements, and the American flag that long flew over the factory was reportedly removed while the Chinese engineers were visiting the site. A group of workers have set up camp across from the factory -- calling it “Bainport” -- and some supporters have tried to block the trucks hauling equipment out of the plant. According to Dave Johnson, there have been several arrests.
Sensata workers have asked to meet with Mitt Romney and hoped to enlist his help keeping their jobs in the United States, but he has refused, instead remaining on the campaign trail where he speaks often about “getting tough” with China.
The most important part of the story is that Sensata Technologies is profitable operating in Illinois. Net income last year was $355 million, up 16 percent from 2010. The company reported total revenues of $1.8 billion in 2011, up almost 19 percent from the year before. According to a company financial statement, “both 2011 net revenue and adjusted net income represent record levels for the company.”
So this has nothing to do with “making hard choices” in the process of turning around a failing business, which is how the Romney campaign describes Bain's corporate raiding. Bain's partners are looking for a modest boost in profits by locating the plant closer to the booming Asian automotive market (Sensata makes high-tech automotive parts). They'll get a small tax break for relocating the plant – the one Mitt Romney insisted did not exist during the first debate – and possibly defer taxes on some of the income the company generates.

Chrysler is a foreign corporation now owned by Fiat of Italy.

Before I came to the Romney side, I checked out the Biden storm article. The posters are talking about organizing relief efforts to give aid and campaign for Obama. Is there nothing the left won't do to promote itself. Talk about astroturf!

Obama has the lowest violent crime rate of any president in the last forty years.
Violent crime rose sharply under Reagan after he cut programs for the poor. Reagan has the highest crime rate of any president in the last sixty years. It peaked and fell under Clinton, but the momentum was Reagan's. All he did was cut some programs and crime spiked.
Romney wants to eliminate all safety nets leaving tens of millions of people desperate with nothing to fall back on. Only the work-ready people will get jobs.

The first time Wrongme tried the scare Ohio about jobs, it was his typical 'shoot first; aim later' combined with limited reading comprehension. Chrysler is an American company, Fiat owns a 60% stake in the company, the other 40% is STILL American owned. The United Auto Workers healthcare trust that owns the remaining 40 percent of the company
Jeep have just added 1100 jobs to the American market, they plan to expand have jeeps built in china for the Chinese market.

What is Obama doing? 23 mil. unemployed, substancial increases in poverty and food stamps, upset in the Middle East and on and on and on. I agree with you completely that Mormonism is not Christianity. It's weird for those who try to make that claim. For Christian voters this go-around, they aren't voting for religious denomination labels, but rather their Christian principles. The Christian church has failed in so many areas- as it is made up of people who are far from perfect. I'm hoping this election will fire up the church - bring the point home that the job of the church is to show love to everyone regardless of the cost. The Bible is very clear that followers of Christ are strangers in this world. We are never once told in the Bible to mold the world to our beliefs, but are instead told to hold firm to our beliefs in spite of the world and that our testimonies can allow Christ to move in ways we could never accomplish on our own.

OK, I don't believe that this is happening. Mitt is a salesman. He sold Bain Capital for those that wanted to get rich. Salesman tell you what you want to hear. President Reagan increased government spending that balanced the loss of revenue in the private sector. Mitt will not do that. So the end result for decreasing the taxes for the rich is to increase taxes for the midddle class. All of you under 200,000 per year. 80% of the American Public. Then Mitt will balance his crazy budget. Oh, 20 million jobs he promises. He is saying that to get votes. Governor Scott said the same thing and hundreds of voters believed him. We are going into the third year and we are not even close to jobs as promised. MItt cannot get additional jobs because the rich company owners don't want to spend the revenue. They want the cash. Da. Mitt said he would get us higher wages. How? Corporate American WANT THEIR CASH. They are reducing wages to get more cash. Mitt, need economics 101 before he runs for President. He is a salesmen.
