Automated polling organization, (Rasmussen, surveyUSA, and PPP, for example), are precluded by law from auto-dialing cell phones, and so have addressed the issue by sending out email blasts to pc's and smartphones. Again, typically this is 40% of their sample- how accurate this method is remains to be seen.

First, bcwc, your categorical statement about "most polls" not using a cell phone component was, categorically, wrong.

Second, the "EC" polls you reference are done, for the most part, by the same organizations that do national polls.

Third, state polls are not as accurate as national polls- and even those are not as accurate as they should be, because most of them have no idea what turnout will be.

I'll give you just one example of how inaccuracy wends its way into state polls- Marist, which polls states for NBC.

Their last poll of Iowa showed a slight Obama lead, based entirely on the "fact" that Obama was winning early voters by some ridiculous number. The problem? Well, according to Marist, 34% of Iowans had already cast votes. Unfortunately, the actual fact is that only slightly less than 30% of Iowans had even requested early voting ballots- and of that number, less than 20% had returned said ballots.

By the way, Romney was winning those who planned to vote on election day by double digits in that same poll.

When you have a wildly inflated number of people claiming they've voted already, and do not weight that down to the easily obtainable, factually based number of early ballots returned, your poll is pretty worthless.

So far as I know, nobody is bothering to do that. They'd all fail statistics if that question was on the final.

Well, we're hearing that Romney has kind of seen the writing on the wall in Ohio and he told his fundraisers they need to send him more money as he wants to "widen the map". I wonder if this is so.

As a Buckeye I have watched gerry mandering by the governor's GOP thugs which the people responded with a vote to a bipartisan panel to decide on how to draw districts. Our wonderful governor tried to push through a bill ridding Ohio of public unions for teachers, firemen, police officers and other lower level public servants only to have it thrown out when brought up for a vote. The GOP thugs of Ohio tried to get Kasich to ramrod through a Right to Work law and of course after his last beating Kasich declined. Now we see Kasich declaring Mittwit taking Ohio which once again is a hopeful dream on his part. Kasich is running for his political life here in the Buckeye state due to his underhanded bully tactics.

In reality Kasich is done as a governor as it is he that is a one term governor. Kasich has shown the people of Ohio he is not fit to govern just like his boy running against Sherrod Brown, Mandel. I can't speak about the Des Moines Register, but the Cincinnati Enquirer? The ONLY thing that dominates that paper is sports, sports on the front paper - sports as the main headline, sports in EVERY section to the extent that it leaves little left to put in the "Sports" section.

NBCNews predicted that the Ohio election would come down to Hamilton county (Cincinnati & suburbs)....Cincinnati will be for the President but the suburbs....my guess is Romney (avg. home price in Boehner's area $700,000+)...

There has been a great push in Ohio for absentee voter ballots - if the state is close, they will not be able to count those on election day (you can mail them up to the day before the election - and the mail does not move at the speed of light). I hope OHIO doesn't ruin yet another election with uncounted votes, etc... -

I do not write this endorsing either candidate - I will have to live with whomever wins, however, I want the winner to win unequivocally - not under the auspices of corruption/mistakes/dead voters/etc.

This post is about OHIO. I think if I paid a Republican Polling organization to declare Mr. Romney the leader that is what I would get as a result. NONE of the other creditable polls show Mr. Romney winning unless the poll is isolated to the south east corner of ohio. I am not sure what those folks see in Mr. Romney but it is their loss if he somehow gets elected.

Kasich is counting on those Tagg Romney voting machines in Hamilton County carrying the day.

This is the biggest unreported story of this election. Romney spewing out lies like the mighty Columbia River at flood tide- that would only be a story if it wasn't happening. No, it's the Rethuglican's widespread voter-suppression and fraud campaign that isn't being reported by the lapdog corporate media.

I'm not going to belabor the points Tank raises (nice work, mate, and I hope to see you here more often!) but just remind the audience that in 2004, something on the order of 40,000 votes were either declared invalid or simply went missing in Ohio. ALL of these votes had these things in common:

1. They were from precincts that were expected to, or traditionally had, slant heavily Democratic, and

2. The votes were tabulated (or deleted!) by the brand- new Diebold voting machines that had just been installed by a company whose owners were big contributors to the Bush and several other Republican campaigns.

Regular readers of this space will recall that for as long as I have been posting here, I have been beating the drum and uttering dire warnings that there was no way the Reptilicans were going to allow our President to be re-elected, that their machinery of deceit and theft was cranking into high gear, that the stakes are probably high enough that they're no longer all that concerned with maintaining an appearance of legitimacy, and that if it becomes obvious that Obama is winning in spite of all their criminal actions to prevent it, that a coup d'etat is not entirely out of the question; after all, it's their supporters who have all of the firepower, and quite a number of those poor ignorant deluded chumps (including, I'm ashamed to say, a couple of members of my immediate family) truly believe the absurd lies about our President being some kind of foreign-born Muslim sleeper agent, and would welcome a chance to live out their Rambo fantasies on the streets of your hometown.

Although cellphones reach people who do not have a land line or are constantly on the road, cell phone area codes mean less and less as to where you live. I've seen cleveland area codes fro people who live in Iowa, and Colorado numbers that live in Akron.

RCP on Thursday returned North Carolina (NC) to the status of "toss-up state," and in so doing, reduced Romney's likely electoral vote tally from 206 to 191. However, Romney still holds a strong although softening lead of 3.8% in NC and remains the favorite to capture that state in the upcoming election.

However, should Obama lose the critically important and highly-contested state of OH, the loss could effectively be neutralized by any of the following combination of wins from states where FiveThirtyEight is currently predicting Obama victories:

Path #1: Obama fails to hold OH but wins IO, NH, and CO resulting in 272 electoral votes.

Path #2: Obama fails to hold OH but wins IO and VA resulting in 272 electoral votes.

Path #3: Obama fails to hold OH but wins CO and VA resulting in 275 electoral votes.

However, regarding Path #1, there is some question as to the accuracy of the RCP polling numbers in NH which includes in their average a recent 'outlier' finding from UNH which has Obama leading by an overwhelming 9.0%.

For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the two states in which he presently leads, FL and NC, bringing his electoral vote total to 235, but also steal victories in CO where his lead fell from 0.4% on Friday to that of dead heat, in VA where his lead fell from 1.0% yesterday to another dead heat, and finally with OH where Obama's lead fell today to 1.9%. By so doing, Romney's electoral vote total would reach 275.

Should Romney take CO and VA but fail to take OH, he could overcome this shortfall by stealing WI and either IO or NH, resulting respectively in an electoral vote total of 273 or 271.

With only nine days of campaigning left, this one may come down to the wire…. and to the October jobs report.

Let's hope that Election Day is free of both voter fraud and voter intimidation and that eligible voters who have registered in good faith over the past six months are in fact able to vote on November 6; let's also hope that vote tabulation itself is performed honestly and accurately by both the election commissions and private corporations to whom this essential role is being entrusted.

In any case, it will be interesting to watch as election night unfolds.

What we know is that in the last 2 weeks people who prefer to leave an incumbent in are now deciding if they are really going to do so. So why would anyone vote for Romney?

1.He's a man without character,that changes his policies at the drop of a hat.During the Primaries he's an arch-conservative.Then during the debates he portrays himself as a moderate. During the campaign he runs on an almost war policy.Then during the last debate he morphs into a peacemaker to confuse the voters. First he still wants the troops in Iraq,and thought pulling them out on schedule from Afghanistan was a horrible idea.Then during the debate,he totally agree's with the Presidents policy to remove the troops from Iraq,and supports the Presidents plan to withdraw from Afghanistan on schedule. This back and forth flip-flopping is the reason our foreign policy military planners don't trust him to be Commander in Chief.

2. He claims to be a "job creator",yet his record is anything but. His whole business career is made up of failed companies looted,and workers fired. With the jobs outsourced or made into low wage jobs making him more money. Twenty-two percent of the companies he invested in went bankrupt. His record of saving the Salt Lake Olympics involved getting a Federal Government bailout of hundreds of millions of dollars. Making that small Winter Games,the most expensive Olympic Games in American history.Paid for by the taxpayers. His "job creator" skills while governor of Mass. was so bad that Mass. won't touch him with a ten foot pole today. He cut taxes for the wealthy in Mass. and balanced the budget there by cutting education and increasing fees on all government services.On the backs of the middle and poor people.

3.He claims he can work in a bi-partisan manor in Washington. Yet as governor he vetoed hundreds of bills by his Democratic Statehouse.Most of which we overturned despite him. He is in the pocket of the most right-wing elements in the Republican Party.Sworn to do their bidding,as well as the bidding of his billionaire donors. A sure recipe for conflict in doing whats right for average Americans.

4. Maybe its his economic plan why we should vote for him? Except,we don't really know much about it. And what we do know about it,non-partisan economists say is a disaster. Coming out of the worst economic collapse since the great depression. He wants to take us back to the Bush polices that brought on that disaster. The main part of his part is to cut taxes by 20% and at the same time add 2 trillion dollars in military spending,not asked for by the military.Adding a 7 trillion dollar hit to the budget. He says he will balance it out,but gives no details on how. He says he'll tell us after the election. He wants the American people to vote for a "pie in the sky" plan,which economists say can't be balanced without adding thousands of dollars to the average American family's taxes.All to pay for tax cuts for the richest Americans.

5.Even if we were foolish enough to buy him as President.We would have as his Vice President,Paul Ryan.A heartbeat away from a 65 year old Romney,himself in questionable health. Paul Ryan comes from the most right-wing crazy part of the Republican Party. A man infamous for his budget plan that his own Catholic Bishops denounce as a horrible attack on the poorest Americans.And plans to replace seniors medicare with vouchers A man that is so far on the crazy side,that if a child was raped he would work to deny her the right to terminate the rapists fetus. A man that heads the list of Congressman with a record of voting against the middle-class.And who wants to cut to the bone the social safety net of our poorest citizens.

These are just a few of the reasons we should reject the Romney/Ryan ticket in this election.We could add Romney's attack in private to his donors on almost half the American people.And that as the poster boy for the richest plutocrats they have no concept of the life of Americans.But these are more than enough. 1) the voting screwups in Ohio were not large enough to have affected the outcomes.

2) Taggart and his capital company own less than 20% of the voting machine company. This means they have little voice and no day to day control of the company. Furthermore, Ohio has only 2 of 88 counties that bought those machines AND the voting machine company does not program the machines for reading the the ballots, the local board of elections do. Cincinnati in a tie, but Obama is campaigning in Youngstown? Youngstown is a dead lock for him, a Republican couldn't get elected as dogcatcher there, but Cincinnati in a tie, that city normally would support a Democrat. It's crazy, there is no way I would NOT be campaigning in Cincinnati if I was tying there, and go to Youngstown instead. Read the internals on the polls, not just the results. Obama to many supporters is only getting a yes because they had not fully decided yet.

A good example of this was the Minnesota poll released this morning. Obama 47 - 44. Inside the poll it tells you that the voters trusted Romney more with the economy, and not as much with Foreign affairs. The Poll used a couple points over 2008 levels of Democrats and well below 2008 in Republicans.

I just saw a poll where it shows the president up in VA. Tim Kaine is doing well in VA. Bob Kerrey, the democrat, is inching up in Nebraska. I saw an article this morning that stated the president has a 98% chance of getting re-elected.

While it is true that Kasich cut funds to local government, the cut was not aimed specifically at Police, and Fire. It was the local governments that chose to cut Police and Fire personnel. And while Kasich cut the funds to local governments, he also won their ability to hold down the costs of the rising health care costs and Pension costs which are rising at 20% - 30% annually.

With these two budget items (half of local and shool budgets) in place no police, fire or teacher would have needed to be layed off. But the Citizens of ohio overturned that issue last fall. After the citizens voted this down, and the local government and public schools added new levies and layed of teachers and staff to try to get down to the revenues.

So, let me get this straight. Bloomberg writes a story saying Chrysler is so happy with its Jeep sales that it is planning to expand output to China. Some right wing blogger interprets this as saying they are going to move their production of Jeeps to China, lots of right wingers start spreading the story. Romney repeats the story at a campaign stop in Ohio. The CEO of Chrysler writes a letter saying the story is bunk, it has never had any plans to move its production to China, and nobody ever said that. In fact, they say, they are expanding production here at home, with over a thousand new jobs planned.

What is Romney's response? To cut a new ad for Ohio saying that Chrysler is moving its production to China.

I would be very interested in seeing the credible information you found. I have not found any that I would call anywhere near credible. The information that I DO find credible is 23 million Americans are without work and 3.4 million more women are living under the poverty level than four years ago.

Not to sound too sappy, but what do I tell my teenage daughter? That this administration is fighting this so called GOP war on women? The truth is, theyre not. This White House was labeled a hostile workplace for women, and females in this administration make an average of 18% less than their male counterparts. I find that information credible. Once again, a place where this administration does not follow its own mandate.

It wasnt but a couple of years ago, an investigative reporter discovered that many members of this administration owed back taxes, and the only reason they were payed is because of the political ramifications...if that reporting wasnt done, these people would still owe.

Unemployment numbers are SOFT, and the true unemployed is over 10%, that information is credible. I find this administration did not take advantage of having control of the House or Senate during its first two years...instead of tackling the economy, or job creation, it went after healthcare, and we all know how effective the Federal Government is about running healthcare (if you have any questions about that, ask a Veteran on Tri-Care). It is a fiasco.

Now I am hearing information (not all of it credible) about the Ambassador asking for additional security and it being turned down. I researched and found that 9/11 was NOT the first time the compound was attacked this year, but yet Marines were ordered out of the area. I am curious why not all news agencies are not all over this. I would bet every dollar I have, had this happened under a Republican President, every comment on these message boards would start with the words Impeach him/her.

Democrats do their own secret polling too. That is how both sides determine where dollars need to be spent and how they must address issues to gain maximum support.

I have driven all over the area in Akron on a daily basis. Wendy is correct, there are less Obama signs than in 2008. Only in the most die-hard democrat neighborhoods is there close to the number of Obama signs. I too, am starting to see people talking about being somewhat disappointed with Obama. In yards I know to be avid democrat supporters, I see every democrats sign, except Obama.

For you to say it is solid, you must be in a very solid Democrat area, but I too am in a very solid Democrat area.

According to the latest Special Inspector General for TARP's Quarterly Report recently submitted to Congress , GM, Chrysler, and Ally Financial have repaid only $35 billion of the bailout funds to date. This leaves $44 billion of taxpayer funds unpaid.

In theory, some of that will be paid back when the Government liquidates its 32% share in GM, its 6% share in Chrysler, and its 74% share in the former GMAC. The problem is, if those shares were sold at current market prices, the net proceeds--about $20 billion--would saddle American taxpayers with a $24 billion loss. Did you see how the market opened today? I think the 24B loss is a conservative estimate. Will these companies pay back the losses? I dont think so, because they have 'paid back' their loans early. Remember that lie? The bailout was not structured to allow the American taxpayer any coverage. There was no incentive for GM or Chrysler to improve their stock prices. Actually, the exact opposite...keep the stocks low, so when the Government sells their shares at a loss, they can be purchased low, and then when profits come back up, they have made more money.

I think we can all agree, that a 24 BILLION dollar loss is not good. It didnt do any of us any good. In fact, GM is outsourcing more jobs to China every day. As for running away, the early reports form the left was that all Ohio machines were affected. There were also early reports that Ohio had NONE, but once I got the state statements, I missed that Ohio had two counties that bought the machines.

The big thing you really have wrong is that Bain is run by Romney and it is not. Romney has a large amount of shares that was given to him in lieu of a retirement plan. He has no voice in the company and even if he did, his shares are in a blind trust, so he cannot even sell them if he wanted to.

However, if you care to take a short second look at my post, you just might see that I never mentioned or inferred anything about Tagg Romney, his stake in Hart-InterCivic, or anything of the sort, now did I? No...YOU did.

What I do question is the fact that the importance of the integrity of vote counting could be handled in such an obviously slip-shod method by a company charged with the responsibility for accuracy. Would you want similar verification errors in the calculation of your paycheck? Your property taxes? Any mortgage payments you may have? I think not.

Pat Boston MA. clb, to be quite honest with you, I don't know what to make of these polls. I just know they seem to be pretty consistent if you're paying attention to the electoral college count. And the consistencies point time and time again to an Obama re-election victory.

Not exactly sure which polls you are referring to. But A poll from a consortium of Ohio newspapers released today, Sunday, showed Romney and Obama tied at 49 percent support. A CNN/Opinion Research poll Friday for Ohio put Obama up 4, which is within the margin of error. If you dig deeper into these polls they are polling 8% more democrats then Rep & Ind. This based on the 2008 election demographic turnouts. This election is not going to have democratic turnout as it did in 2008. The young people and the blacks will probably vote as they have in prior elections, not as they did in 2008. There is not the enthusiasm there as in 2008. So that is why I say these polls are really not something we can go buy.

I just saw a poll where it shows the president up in VA. Tim Kaine is doing well in VA. Bob Kerrey, the democrat, is inching up in Nebraska. I saw an article this morning that stated the president has a 98% chance of getting re-elected.

A Washington Post poll released Saturday had Obama up 51 to 47, (within the margin of error) while a Gravis poll the same day showed a 48-48 tie. Rasmussen had Romney up 50% to Obama 48%. So polls in Virginia show a similarly close race.

I have no magic anything. I'm not pulling this info out of thin air. These polls are supposed to be done by professionals. We'll know next week if they are were accurate. In the meantime, we follow polls closely.

Two Professors at the Univ of Colorado have a forecasting model which has predicted every presidential election correctly since 1980. This includes predicting that Gore would win the popular vote in 2000 and Bush would win the electoral vote. Many election forecast models are based on the popular vote, the model developed by these two professors is based on the Electoral College and is the only one of its type to include more than one state level measure of economic conditions. They included economic data from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

There analysis in August showed Romney winning the electoral college by a 320-218 margin and winning 52.9 percent of the popular vote. They published an update this month. According to their updated analysis, Romney is projected to receive 330 of the total 538 Electoral College votes. President Obama is expected to receive 208 votes. Of the 13 battleground states identified in their model, the only one to change in the update was New Mexico which now seen as a narrow victory for Romney. The model foresees Romney carrying the swing states of New Mexico, North Carolina, Virginia, Iowa, New Hampshire, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. Obama is predicted to win Michigan and Nevada.

By predicting elections accurately since they started in 1980 they certainly have more creditability then most other polls who have not been able to accomplish that. IMO, if history stands, and solely due the economic conditions, I will be very surprised if Pres Obama get re-elected. But in the end we will find out on early Wednesday morning, hopefully without any drama like in 2000 which I don't think our country needs.

That legislation got overturned because the unions told Ohio citizens that teacher jobs would be eliminated if they lost the right to bargain for class size.

Guess what, after the law was repealed, the layoffs of teachers began. Thousands lost their jobs. Hundreds more lost their jobs when more tax levies failed.

If the law had been left to stand, almost no teachers would have been laid off!

Early voting in Ohio.

There of course are two Opinions.

Democrats are crowing that they are up in every that voted for Obama, we have polled people exiting and found that they are voting 64 - 30 Democrats.

Here is the problem. Real numbers are saying that 220,000 less democrats have voted and 30,000 more republicans have voted.

Who to believe. Who to believe.

Well, let's start with counties won by Obama and counties won by McCain. First, there is no way to say in Ohio who is and isn't what party, unless you get the lists of people who signed in and figure out who is Democrat or Republican. What they are hoping is that because the Obama won counties are up that their numbers are way up. NOT NECESSARILY TRUE.

First, Being Republicans are polled to be more motivated, they are up, not down.

Second, in absentee ballots, republicans requesting ballots was up 7 points and democrats off 6 points. Democrats still have a lead there, but it is greatly reduced.

Third, about 6 counties the democrats are counting as democrat territory were won by Bush in 2004. One of those counties is Hamilton, which is typically the most conservative county in the State of Ohio. In 2008, the republicans turned out low, and some voted for Obama. When you follow the counties being up, those should be either not counted, but more likely be counted toward Romney. Once those are put in the Republican column, Democrats only enjoy a 10,000 vote improvement.

This state is a toss-up because of all the variables.

It's amusing reading the little Libbies comments about Barrack Hussein saving the "auto industry".

He didn't save an industry.

He saved 2 auto manufacturers that by all rights should have been allowed to collapse. Chrysler already suffered bankruptcy in the 80's and never had more than its fan base support afterwards.

GM had been hemorrhaging since 2000 under incompetent leadership and distorted vision. Rick Wagner single handedly drove the company to insolvency by methodically selling off its assets to fatten up the bottom line to insure his, and his cronies, salaries and performance bonuses didn't suffer.

The auto industry was doing fine otherwise. Obviously Ford, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, KIA and others were affected by the recession but not to the level of GM and Chrysler who were simply results of incompetent management and bad marketing decisions.

Today we are no longer just the "Big Three" in its historic sense. The US auto industry is an amalgam of domestic and foreign manufacturers. The Big Three is not even a true description as Chrysler is now a foreign company owned by Italy's Fiat.

By the way, I hope all you "anti-outsourcers" appreciate the level of outsourcing these foreign companies have done to bring all these jobs to the United States. Maybe someday you'll understand the need and benefit of outsourcing in the 21st century economies.

GM should have and could have gone through a LEGAL Chapter 11 bankruptcy under the rule of law. The fact that first Bush and then Barrack Hussein abrogated the purpose and structure of the TARP bailouts should be alarming to even the staunchest Liberal Constitution haters. Barrack Hussein, being an alleged Constitutional scholar, should have seen this and disallowed it. His Constitutional usurpations have been many unfortunately.

The notion that credit was "frozen" is nonsense. As Romney stated, all the government had to do was to back the investors that would have been screaming to be a part of restructuring 2 companies like GM or Chrysler and the process would have been complete. If it was so impossible, how did Fiat buy Chrysler? They would have done it with government money or money from banks backed by the government.

The big difference would have been the fact that in a legal bankruptcy, the laws established would have been enforced. Rightful creditors and bond holders would have been made whole rather than crony unions and their bloated pensions. Maintaining contractual agreements is one of the federal governments Enumerated Powers. This was not only ignored, it was violated.

Yes, George Bush and Barrack Hussein saved GM, they DID NOT save an industry. Ford is the better company, Chrysler is a foreign company now and GM will continue to struggle under the mandates of government ideology rather than market forces. The abysmal failure of the Chevy Volt is proof of the governments incompetence. Forcing "green" products on uninterested consumers will never fix GM.

GM, still owes US taxpayers over $42 Billion. $27 billion is owed on the nearly $50 billion it received from the auto bailout and Ally Bank, the company’s lending arm, owes $14.7 billion of the $17.2 billion taxpayer-funded bailout it received.

GM has posted profits of $4.7 billion in 2010 and $7.6 billion in 2011, where is the tax-payers portion of those profits? When will GM start repaying its outstanding debt? Profits have fallen 41% this last quarter. GM’s developments of models that will reach the new CAFÉ standards are less than promising.

GM shares are currently trading at $23 a share. In order to recover our investment GM shares need to trade at greater than $53. This could take decades.

An auto company wasn’t saved, it was given a second chance. History is not on GM’s side. The question is, how badly taxpayers and future Constitutional decisions will be affected?

The simplest solution is to not give Barrack Hussein any further chances to abuse the rule of law for his cronies and the unions.

I can certainly understand why people are against either candidate. Neither one is perfect, and our nation is clearly in a state of crisis.

What I can't understand is people who a absolutely assured that their candidate will win on Nov. 6. All of the polls I've seen show the two men running neck and neck, with scarcely a percentage point between them. Obama, at the moment has a very real lead in terms of probable electoral college votes. But that could change.

For the rest, I think people are being misled by their political views and personal loyalties, thinking that the intensity of the feelings they, themselves feel must be shared by the majority of right-thinking Americans. Well, there has seldom been a time when a vast majority America agreed on anything, and this Nov. 6 will not be one of them.

In 1920, the women were allowed to vote. In around 1965, the Black were allowed to vote. But in 2012, the poor and minorities are not allowed to vote, esp. in FL, Ohio, PA, AZ, WI, NV, Texas, AL etc., etc., etc., etc. And it's not the Republicans or Independents that are being suppressed, either. I can see that math is not one of your 'strong points'. The official 2008 deficit was only $458 Billion and the Unemployment Rate is 7.8% and likely to go up next Friday.

Here is what Romney actually wrote in the NY Times op-ed;

So you see "financial guarantees" equating to "provide funds"? There was no private money available to guarantee. The controversial part of what Obama did, which is what Republicans, you, and Mitt said should never be done was to actually provide the funds to enact the bankruptcy and to get directly involved in the restructure.

Providing the guarantee without having private money and being unwilling to go any farther than that is tantamount to "let them fail".

No Civil rights leader was imprisoned by a Republican mayor or Governor.

It was the Republicans who fought to break the 8 democrats from filibustering the Civil Rights act of 1964.

It was the Republicans voting 80% for the Civil Rights Legislation in a congress that barely 60% of democrats in both houses supporting it wasn't even close to passing it.

What happened that the Democrats became so pro minority? In 1963, MLK SR got an audience with JFK to beg for the release of his son, Dr King. After that meeting, Kennedy threw his support behind civil rights legislation. Previously JFK had NO position on it.

Why the Change? For the first time, the democrats saw minorities as a huge voting block that could be bought if they support what the minority leadership wanted. When Lyndon Johnson signed his "Great Society" legislation he said "I'll have those N-gg-rs voting Democrat for 100 years".

To have to write this shows how bankrupt and slanted our politcal system and our politically driven education system has become.

Romney's bankruptsy plan was a giveaway to vulture capitalists, if by some miracle they had found the 80 Billion with credit frozen. Shedding pension responsibilities would have hurt millions of retirees. They are contractually owed that money and the President's plan lived up to that promise.

If Romney had been in charge, the factories would be being reassembled in China by now. Bain would have made a huge windwall profit managing the sale to the Chinese.

The dirty work being done on Romney's behalf, buying up the (easy to hack if you have access) voting machines is being done by Ex-Bain employees who owe him their success, (and his son Tagg with money from the Romney's "blind" trusts). The HID installed Board members of HART intercivic are personally writing large cheques to Romney's campaign. HID is the 10th largest contributer to Romney's campaign.

In America, there are lots of great companies to invest in. Why choose a voting machine company locked into such a limited market with little growth potential. It only makes sense if you include the potential benefit of controling the machines and voting software, which is proprietary and not available for scrutiny. It is most troubling that all the 'errors' in Ohio voting machines in the last 3 cycles went 100% to the republican candidate.

Why would any decent American not vote for Romney/Ryan? Those who had any negative thoughts towards Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were the victims of the extensive negative Democrat's propaganda that attempted to demonize these very fine individuals before Americans had had an opportunity to get to know them. Obamacare stopped a forward momentum eh, yet not one statistical or researched fact to show that statement as remotely true. In fact, since the passage of Obamacare, the economy has continued to move forward. Unemployment has dropped, stock market has improved, consumer confidence is up. If Obamacare has stopped economic improvement, we would have seen negative territory vs. positive movement.

I cant stand the Tea party and I cant stand the far left liberals,, they are both a total waste of political opinion. I think Romney has done whats necessary to get the Republican nomination. GOOD JOB! it appears he is a right of center politician. and has the plan to get America off its ass and back to work.

believe me when I say, if you take a huge amount of entitlements off the table. the unemployment rate will drop. I believe to get people to work there must be incentive!

I can only hope that the government bread and cheese program will be enough for all those who cant find work. We should feed our hungry!

but see how quick the unemployment rate drops if the provisions are basic staples, I for one cant stand seeing a fat ass in line in front of me with a cart loaded up with all those wonderful foods that I have to work my ass off for, and see him/her pull out the electronic food stamp card! and I know by paying taxes I have just enabled this behavior to continue!

So now the lazy asses in the red states will actually have to pay for their medical care instead of using everyone else's federal tax dollars to pay for it? This IS the only reason red staters are so vehemently against healthcare reform...these are the people who suck up to the HMOs that bilk Medicare and Disability so they can get more profits from the red state taxes. Who's BSing whom?

If we don't reform healthcare and stop using our premiums to help HMOs like those 7 HMOs in TX that bilked Medicare out of $350 million from 2006 until this year when the Justice Dept. got after their asses, our premiums will eat up half of our paychecks. Right under Bush and Cheney's nose. How exactly does a former TX governor not know 7 of TX biggest HMOs were bilking Medicare or is this the new cowboy economics...pilfer Medicare other people pay for?

Anyone who thinks a vulture venture capitalist is pro-labor is nuts. The only thing that lines the pockets of venture capitalists is buying and selling businesses. How nutty is it to think that the major value to a company, in the view of venture capitalists, is the employees who lose their jobs when these companies are sold?

Then, there's a darker side to venture capitalism in the US...take a good long look at how many of the Bain Capital companies Romney bought and sold left tens of thousands without jobs. The remaining employees are only kept on to train foreign cheap labor. Then, the Americans are given the heave ho while Mr. Rip Van Romney, the icon of Father Knows Best, pockets billions in profit.

An America that only buys and sells companies cannot hope to increase jobs in THIS country. Americans who allow vulture venture capitalists in the White House deserve the unemployment he'll wreak on what's left of our jobs. Women will be the first to lose their jobs because Romney reads directly from his 1950's Father Knows Best script.
