Subscribe to RSSVice President Joe Biden earned ridicule from foes Saturday when he twice referred to the Democratic Virginia Senate candidate by the wrong first name.
Biden began his remarks to an enthusiastic crowd of about 1,500 at the Lynchburg Armory by praising former Gov. Tim Kaine with the correct name but later declared two times that he is "a big Tom Kaine fan."
Kaine is running against Republican George Allen for the seat vacated by Democrat Sen. Jim Webb, who is retiring.
The vice president went on to offer similar compliments for ex-Rep. Tom Perriello, whose first name is Tom.
A Mitt Romney campaign spokesman immediately highlighted the error.
“Vice President Biden forgot the name of his own Virginia Democratic Senate nominee and he wants voters to forget about President Obama’s failed economic policies and lack of a real agenda for a second term," Ryan Williams wrote in a campaign statement.
In Lynchburg, Biden also accused Republicans of hoping for lapses of memory.
"They're counting on the American people to have an overwhelming case of amnesia on November the 6th," he said.
Obama campaign spokesperson Lis Smith also responded.
"Once again, Mitt Romney’s campaign is showing their focus on the big things — like one letter in Tim Kaine's name," Smith said. "If they put as much time and effort into their policies, maybe we'd finally have an answer for how they'd pay for $5 trillion in tax cuts weighted to the very wealthy."
Kaine, the victim of the flub, responded in a tongue-in-cheeck tweet later Saturday.
"Thanks to the VPOTUS for the shout out today. I love Jay Biden!" he joshed via Twitter.

Isn't it funny how much the Left Wing of the media made Palin to be out some airhead soccer mom - yet their own Biden has a much worse track record when it comes to idiotic soundbytes - yet, when criticized, they say the right is being foolish?
And on the same page, recall how during the ENTIRE 2008 elections, the left kept fear mongering that "Oh, if McCain dies - Palin will be President!" - and yet, McCain is still alive to this day. So let's put the shoe on the other foot - imagine if Obama is assassinated during a second term, and BIDEN becomes President! Now that's scary!

I can only imagine Obama cringing every time Biden speaks in public. The man is a moron. I am still wondering why Obama picked him for his VP?
Because he wanted somebody less qualified/ inferior than himself to be in charge, should the opportunity (gasp) present itself?
He picked him, as noted in #250, because he's Obama's perfect "life insurance policy." No sane American would ever want to see Biden ascend to the Presidency under any circumstances.

Both candidates have had errors in their speeches and some of them may have been intentional but what you should be looking at is their past successes and failures, who has the best experience and knowledge to put this country back on track and; if those "lies" that you are continuing to repeat across these blogs are better off letting go of and concentrating on the more important things that this country needs real answers to!

What I don't understand is that no one ever took joe(bite me)biden seriously in the higher levels of the political atmosphere, ole joe was usually buried some place where he did the least amount of harm, then all of a sudden he's vice president. That tells me that the obama administration is on the level of intelligence of a biden who truly is a two bit politician who has NO scruples, and no self respect. He has a filthy mouth, a racial infested speech for every ethnic group, biden is a what I call a typical DC grown crooked political big mouth who is up for hire to the highest bidder.

It will not be a tragedy if Mitt does not win. I voted for him however I think within two years the country is going down. The world econmy will collapse under all this debt and I would just as soon have a Dem in office when it happens=that will be the end of the whole lot of them. I am sure we will never be able to pay it. Obama has us too far in the hole. Either way he will go down as the worst president in history.
The citizens of the United States have been lied to by their president at least twice before. Richard Nixon lied about his cover-up of the Watergate break-in, leading to his decision to resign before he was impeached. William Clinton lied about his sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky and was ultimately impeached. While the conduct of both of these presidents was despicable, their conduct pales by comparison to that of Pres. Barrack Obama. Biden has always had problems speaking and coming up with answers. That little skeleton in his closet 'plagerism' from the past...No wonder he was stealing other people's words all those years ago, he still cannot come up with a thought on his own.
Biden will occasionally say something he doesn't mean, and he gets rightly zinged for it. Republicans keep getting embarrassed by saying things they do mean, but are supposed to keep quiet about while they are campaigning against Democrats. Then they say it was poorly stated.
