First Read reported just nine days ago that spending on radio and television ads had crossed the $800 million threshold.
Total spending, including the campaigns and outside groups, has now climbed to $907 million, according to an NBC analysis of data provided by ad-buying firm SMG Delta.
Ohio is now the top state in overall ad spending at $185 million, surpassing Florida which is at $182 million.
Just this week, $84 million in ads have been booked, a record for any single week this election. But next week already tops this one with $86 million in ad buys already booked. Ohio tops all states with $18 million of that money this week and $20 million next.
“Team Romney,” the campaign and outside groups supporting him, are far outpacing “Team Obama” this week -- $54 million to $30 million.
In overall spending, Team Romney is outpacing Team Obama $531 million to $375 million.

I can't help but wonder when I read about the billions and zillions of ad money spent, just what this money could have done, could have fixed, could have paid for, could have educated, could have alleviated the suffering of so many had this money been available for humanitarian aid right here in the USA, the country that all the Super PACs and other political entities have managed to tear apart. I truly hope that others are as shocked as I am......just look at all the Americans without healthcare, Americans without money for college, Americans without jobs, American roads and bridges needing repair, American schools needing supplies and repair, and then look at the wasted money so lavishly spent by wealthy people of both parties. Shocking beyond belief!

Almost a trillion dollars... that makes it a stimulas package for the economy by itself <laughing>... too bad it didn't go towards last years budget shortfall by Congress and Obama's approval. That would have been a far better use of the money...

I think that during the Obama presidency the first thing he did was to continue what President Bush started and that was to take care of the upper class. Yes, large corporations, banks and insurance companies to mention a few. They are all in better shape after they were bailed out and shed jobs totaling in the tens of thousands. (I don't know the exact number)
For the middle class citizens looking for work what would have helped them is a job but those number have barely moved. After the 2008 election the Dow Jones average was on a solid climb from January 2009 and is doing well while the Unemployment numbers have been flailing along.
He says if we stick with him he will create jobs. He says that Mitt Romney will take care of the upper class but that looks like thats what has happened so far during his term. If he is re-elected it will be his last term so it's a promise he won't have to keep. I think he cares but he has his own agenda.

Both sums have to be repaid, so the real amount borrowed is the $415 billion nominal deficit plus the $150 billion from Social Security or $565 billion.

I think this means one can buy the office of President if one spends enough money. I cannot imagine why anyone would want this job at this time. Bad economy, unemployment at highest levels ever, broke Social Security system, Health Care Crisis, Terror everywhere in the world and showing up here, foreign relations at low, dollar devalued, drug wars, college grads can't find jobs, on and on...why would anyone want this? One could say all we can do is get better, it can't get any worse. One could say "for the power"..I would not do it for either reason.
