First Read reported just nine days ago that spending on radio and television ads had crossed the $800 million threshold.
Total spending, including the campaigns and outside groups, has now climbed to $907 million, according to an NBC analysis of data provided by ad-buying firm SMG Delta.
Ohio is now the top state in overall ad spending at $185 million, surpassing Florida which is at $182 million.
Just this week, $84 million in ads have been booked, a record for any single week this election. But next week already tops this one with $86 million in ad buys already booked. Ohio tops all states with $18 million of that money this week and $20 million next.
“Team Romney,” the campaign and outside groups supporting him, are far outpacing “Team Obama” this week -- $54 million to $30 million.
In overall spending, Team Romney is outpacing Team Obama $531 million to $375 million.

- Iowa $71 million
- North Carolina $69 million
- NV $55 million
- NH $49 million
- WI $40 million

The President has nothing to do with the day to day operations of embassies across the world.Nor does he have anything to do with the security of those embassies. he has other agencies that do that for him.

The height of hypocrisy was Obama crying crocodile tears the other day on just how "ridiculous" the level of spending on this Presidential election has risen to. He was the one who refused to take public financing and the spending restrictions that came along with it in 2008, as we went all out outspending the Clinton's juggernaut and then the McCain campaign with his treasure trove of contributions, that included nearly half a billion from Wall Street. Now he want's to act as if he is offended by this type of spending this go round! LOL! Get a life!
I imagine Foxs News was saying Obama was crying and lying and everything when they apparently have no idea what truth and respect and values even are. They have no clue. And when you lie, why? Is that the only way you think you can win. Then don't bother even to lie because then you will guarantee you are Losers with a capital L. I think all the republicans including voters have completely lost their minds. I wouldn't vote for any of them if they were the only ones on the ballot. They ALL APPEAR TO BE LYING. BTW lying is not telling the truth in case you think it is something else. Obama better win or woe to America. The republicans have simply lost their way. And their minds. And if you lie and win you really lose in more than one way. You still lose and you are losers morally. Winners never lie or cheat no matter if you think you do or not. I agree with President Obama that Donations from Corporations, Lobbyists, Special intrest and PACS are corrupting the politics of our nation and perverting the electoral process.
When it's Big Labor pouring millions into a political campaign, it's "free speech". When it's evil corporations, it's "buying the election".

Well think of this. When big labor is pouring money, I doubtmillions ,into a campaign, it is for themselves and their workers. To make their jobs better. When republicans are pouring money in who are they pouring it in for. The workers? The Chinese? The executives who are making millions and doing nothing to begin with? Have you ever watched how busy an executive is. What would they do without workers and secretaries. limos and perks? Same thing they do now. Basically nothing! Except rake in money they didn't earn. And have you ever wondered how Romney has ever made a decision and stuck with it about anything? What Powell said was exactly what Romney does. Why would you support that? I just simply do not understand it at all. . And notice lost his mind Sununu didn't say that is not what Romney stands for did he? No he said Powell said that because he was black???? I have sympathy foryou guys! Especially when you have no clue about anything apparently. You have no clue what Romney stands for because it isn't the same as yesterday or last week or last month, no clue what Fox News does to you and no clue what Democrats do or stand for either. Such a waste of money and paper. This money could have been put to better use than plastering us with all of these ads. Guess what I do when the ads come on TV (I mute it) and put all the ads they send me in the mail in the recycling box. There are many children who go hungry every day, how about we fix our problem instead of throwing good money after bad!

I said that at first. Save the money and reelect Obama. What have we learned about either candidate with all that money? Nothing. Romney cant even run a convention let alone a country. What if he hires Eastwood to talk to a foreign leader or someone like him. He did to talk to America and represent him.Think of his first foreign trip. Think of the way he treats people. Think of his nice steady had with things. Not. He has no qualifications to be president except having money which he woudn't even have if his dad had not been successful. Having money is not a problem but if that is the only asset you have it is big problem. And how could a ceo of anything be uncomfortable in front of a group? CEOS are in charge people not whiners, they are usually people persons. If you compare Romney with every Ceo you know of he will fall short. The only thing he has going for him is that he can buy people and influence. And be bought too. That is not a qualification for president. He will be working with countries not money. Money is only a little teeny tiny part. What would he do when he had to deal with people not money? Nothing. That is actually what he said but he can't do that. He would have to do something and hopefully it wouldn't be having a nervous breakdown.

Layoff Firefighters, Police, Teachers cut funding for many needed programs across the country but let's spend 1BILLON on getting a new President elected. Wonder what the total would be if you included Senators, Congressmen, Governors and other state elected officials. Probably could take a nice chunk out of the federal deficit. Come on people let's start sending these people a clear message, it should be an honor to serve the people not a way to get rich. I just watched the weather on TV. To all of you who live on the East Coast, please take care and I hope the effect of Sandy is minimal. I also hope you are prepared for the worse just in case. Although I disagree with the liberals on this or any vine, we are all Americans and you have my best thoughts with this upcoming event of mother nature.

Terribly wrong. Each candidate should be allowed to spend only $250M each and be allowed to campaign only 6 months prior to the election date (they need to work at least 3.5 years of their 4 year commitment). They need to understand they have a budget and timeframe. When running the Country, they need to understand BUDGETS and TIMEFRAMES. If they don't understand, then they will run the Country into the ground, over budget and spend way too much time campaigning. Oops, isn't that the way the Country is run now? We need lots of changes in Washington.
Wouldn't it be great if Obama and Romney tied at 269 electoral votes each? We would have a Romney/Biden administration. Never mind the Mayan calendar, that would really be the end of the world.
All that money on the Republican side have made Romney and Ryan acceptable to the voters who consider themselves anti-democratic even though in the primary it was anyone other than Romney.
