The Daily Rundown's Chuck Todd talks about the heavy campaigning in the Buckeye State and why it's important to the 2012 election.
Focusing on Ohio -- and Colorado… New NBC/WSJ/Marist polls show Obama and Romney tied in Colorado at 48% and Obama up 50%-47% in Nevada… Ohio’s proxy battle: Brown vs. Mandel… Talk about an October surprise: Here comes Hurricane Sandy… Sununu: Powell endorsed Obama because of race… And the battle for perceived momentum.
The latest NBC News/WSJ poll shows a tie in Colorado between Mitt Romney and President Obama and Obama maintaining a slight lead in Nevada. But how much will the female vote impact the election? And will Ohio continue to stay in the president's favor? Can Romney turn that state around? "Meet the Press" moderator David Gregory and NBC News' Chuck Todd discuss.
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- As Ohio goes, almost everyone thinks, so goes the presidency. And it almost seemed yesterday like both President Obama and Mitt Romney were running for the presidency of Ohio, with Romney making three stops in the state and Obama’s Air Force One making an appearance at a rally in Cleveland. But while all of our attention might be on Ohio, the closest race in the country could very well be Colorado and its nine electoral votes. According to brand-new NBC/WSJ/Marist polls, Obama and Romney are deadlocked at 48% among likely voters in Colorado, while Obama holds a narrow three-point lead in Nevada, 50%-47%. (Among the broader sample of registered voters, Obama is up by one in Colorado, 48%-47%, and he leads by six in Nevada, 51%-45%.) And what’s going on in Colorado could signal what happens in Florida and Virginia: Romney has made gains with suburban women, while Obama leads big among Latinos. Remember our “scenario of the day” watch regarding Colorado earlier this week: If Obama wins NV/WI/IA/NH and Romney wins FL/NC/VA/OH, both would need Colorado to go over the top…

Kevin Lamarque / Reuters
A boy cheers while others chant "Four more years" as President Barack Obama speaks at a campaign rally in Cleveland, Ohio October 25, 2012. Obama is on a two-day, eight-state, campaign swing.
*** Ohio’s proxy battle: If we learned anything from last night’s Sherrod Brown-vs.-Josh Mandel debate here in Cincinnati, which one of us moderated, it’s that the race is essentially a proxy for the presidential contest on Ohio. You had Brown touting the auto bailout, an improving economy, and balanced deficit reduction, while Mandel was casting himself as a change agent, campaigning against Washington, and opposing any kind of tax increases. The one big exception was Mandel not saying if he would vote for the Ryan budget plan. Most Republicans, including Romney, have embraced that plan. And although Romney has tried to blur his opposition to the auto bailout -- NBC’s Garrett Haake wrote last night that surrogate Rob Portman told Romney’s audience that the GOP presidential nominee had proposed government guarantees (but that was only after bankruptcy) -- Mandel simply said he opposed it because it cut pension benefits for some 5,000 Delphi retirees, and he made the original case Romney had made against the bailout that it was unnecessary because a private bankruptcy could have worked. While Romney has tried to alter his answer a tad, Mandel did not.
NBC's Chuck Todd and David Gregory weigh in on the candidates' closing arguments as the presidential race comes down to the wire. Their messages: Mitt Romney promises change while President Obama argues for trust.
*** Talk about an October surprise: After weather disrupted both the GOP and Democratic conventions over the summer, Mother Nature appears to have one more surprise in store for the two campaigns: Hurricane Sandy. With that storm approaching the East Coast, it raises a host of questions. What happens to Obama’s events with Bill Clinton on Monday in Florida and Virginia? Does it snow in the Midwest, where both Obama and Romney are set to campaign later next week? Does the hurricane even hit Romney’s campaign headquarters in Boston? These are a lot of questions, but we don’t have any answers. This puts a MAJOR wrench into the final week of travel plans for both campaigns; And of course, how the government responds will get extra scrutiny and, well, ya never know. Now we have our October surprise.
Paul Beck, Ohio State University professor, describes the importance of winning Ohio, a battleground with a large number of electoral votes. It's a diverse state with liberals and conservatives matching a cross section of the nation.
*** Top Romney surrogate: Reason Powell backed Obama was because of race: Colin Powell’s endorsement of Obama yesterday had the potential to be a one-day story, given that Powell had backed Obama in ’08. But a top Romney surrogate on TV, John Sununu -- who served with Powell while working in the Bush 41 administration -- made sure that the endorsement stayed in the news. “[F]rankly, when you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder whether that’s an endorsement based on issues or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama?” Sununu told CNN’s Piers Morgan, per the Washington Post. When Morgan followed up what that reason might be, Sununu replied, “Well, I think when you have somebody of your own race that you’re proud of being President of the United States, I applaud Colin for standing with him.” (Meet the Press' Press Pass dives into military issues with Tom Ricks and Michael Gordon.)
*** Romney camp walks back Sununu’s comment: Late last night, per NBC’s Peter Alexander, the Romney camp released this statement from Sununu: "Colin Powell is a friend and I respect the endorsement decision he made and I do not doubt that it was based on anything but his support of the president's policies. Piers Morgan's question was whether Colin Powell should leave the party, and I don't think he should." (But when you see the interview, Sununu clearly questioned whether Powell’s endorsement was based on issues and policies. Honest question: If this was the statement the Romney camp was going to send, would they have been better off sending nothing? ) This, of course, isn’t the first time that Sununu words have sparked controversy -- and caused some Obama supporters to accuse him of dog whistling on race.. He earlier said he wished Obama "would learn to be an American," and called Obama “lazy” after the first debate. This is a Romney national campaign co-chair; this isn’t simply some unknown supporter. The last thing the Romney campaign wants to introduce is the idea that endorsements are based on race. Did Ross Perot back Romney because he’s white? What would the outrage have been had some Obama national campaign co-chair insinuated that?
*** The battle for perceived momentum: So what’s going on in Minnesota? Is the Romney campaign buying TV ad time there to create a narrative that the map is expanding? Do they really think they have a chance in Minnesota, or do they just have money to burn? If they were serious about expanding the map, wouldn’t they be putting this money in Pennsylvania? Just a few questions worth asking and thinking about.
*** On the trail: Obama is off the trail, but he conducts a series of interviews, including with MTV’s Sway Calloway, radio host Michel Smerconish, and Urban Radio’s April Ryan… Romney delivers an economic speech in Ames, IA at 1:10 pm ET and then hits a rally with Paul Ryan in Canton, OH at 7:15 pm ET… Biden stumps in Wisconsin… And Michelle Obama is in Las Vegas, while Ann Romney is in Virginia Beach, VA.
*** On the trail over the weekend: On Saturday, Obama holds a rally in Nashua, NH… Romney stumps with Marco Rubio in Florida… Biden hits Virginia… Ryan begins a bus tour through Ohio… And on Sunday, Romney holds three rallies in Virginia.

Vote for President Obama because the TIGERS need a win!
Where are your tax returns Mr. Robme? What are you hiding?
4 MORE FOR 44!
Are the women in this country going to vote for a liar that will take away their ability to make their own healthcare choices?
Do you want the Supreme Court to overturn Roe vs Wade? Vote for President Obama to protect your right to chose!
Incredible coming from one of Willard's TOP & most respected surrogates!
Nope!
There is NO racism alive in the GNOP!
None at all...
*snark off*
In reality, it oozes out of that fat bastards pores, like much of the Grand Old Prejudice party!
If you are not rich, white & male, there is no place in the once big tent party!
PERIOD!
To the GOP congressional obstructionists, spinners, and naysayers: Economists predict a robust economic comeback for America.
The International Monetary Fund finds that over the next four years, the United States will be STRONGER THAN ALL of the other major world economies. And stronger than Canada, Germany and France.
1. U.S. growth is projected at around 3%. Meanwhile China and Europe are expected to shrink.
2. Due to new rules and Wall Street reform, U.S. banks are healthier than European banks.
3. Housing is back, with optimistic data on new housing starts.
4. Corporate profits are at an all-time high. (I think we knew that.)
5. Manufacturing is back in part due to clean & renewable energy. More than 500,000 jobs created - and the President's goal is to create twice as many by the end of 2016.
6. U.S consumer confidence is back to September 2007 levels.
7. President Obama set a goal of doubling exports by 2014. U.S. exports are at an all-time high - up by 45% over the last 4 years.
Although Mitt Romney likes to variously blame and threaten Ben Bernanke, the European Central Bank averted a near-collapse by switching to Bernanke's policies - proving Romney wrong on fiscal matters. Again.
We have a great President in Barack Obama. He hasn't talked enough about his accomplishments, but the record will show President Obama is on the right side of history, while GOP has careened way off the charts.
The Mystery is Over
The time for mystery is over MYTH Romney will try and sneak into the White House with sociopath, war profiteer, and new heart transplant who lives another day to torture US.

Obama/Biden 2012
Tearing America's Fabric:
A few weeks ago the jobs report was released by the Bureau of Labor stating that the unemployment rate had fallen to 7.8 percent. Conservatives did not like the numbers and were furious as they began discrediting the Bureau saying they provided false information.
The Congressional Budget Office frequently evaluates budget proposals and when Romney's numbers don't add-up, the budget office says so. It is their job to provide unbiased analysis in financial matters. When the arithmetic does not add up, Romney and Ryan attempts "smoke and mirrors" and claim the CBO is wrong.
We have Republicans working to suppress voting from various segments of the population. It mattered not that soldiers fought and died for this freedom. The right to vote is as sacred as freedom of speech. Republican governors from Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio, (just to name a few) believe it is more important to keep their party in power than have fair and just elections. Ohio Secretary of State Husted is continuing to limit voting by shortening the hours the polls can remain open.
The President of the United States has been the target of disrespect. Birthers like Donald Trump and Tommy Thompson's son promote conspiracy theories that President Obama was born in Kenya and is not an American citizen. They lie about his religious beliefs by calling him a Muslim. Hateful anti-Obama billboards are popping up in Florida and other swing states. John Sununu said Obama needed to learn "how to be an American". Ann Coulter called our President a "retard", and Sarah Palin talked about Obama in racist terms of "shuck and jive shtick with these lies about Benghazi must end". All of these actions weaken who we are and attempt to sway the undecided voter. Don't conservatives realize that the undecided voter is a thoughtful, rational voter?
Paul Ryan, Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock and Mitt Romney are the faces that threaten a woman's right to control her own body. Attempting to disallow economic equality for women, denying healthcare for all Americans, suppressing American's right to vote, and cutting funding for education are right-wing conservative positions.
One has to wonder if the conservatives realize how damaging their efforts are as they rip and tear at the fabric of who we are. It is apparent that America is more vulnerable from those living within our borders than from foreign influences. The hate-filled conservatives have become America's Taliban.
Yesterday, Jody Lots-a-Numbers wrote that President Obama should produce a transcript of his grades because her employers have requested transcripts of her grades. This left everyone scratching their heads. Perhaps she has confused transcripts with a diploma? More likely, she’s a high school student applying for a job at McDonald’s, and there is an agreement between the school and McDonald’s that students must have grades better than a “C” to be eligible for employment. Based on the intellectual acuity she displays her in her posts, I suspect she didn’t get the job.
What did Lindsey Graham say at the Republican Convention—that there aren’t enough “angry, white guys” to sustain the GOP? http://gawker.com/5939404/sen-lindsey-graham-not-enough-angry-white-guys-to-sustain-gop Angry white male Republicans are foaming at the mouth over this video: http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/10/lena-dunham-talks-first-time-in-obama-ad.html
Trust Matters
That looks like it's becoming the president's closing argument. Folks are supposed to vote for Obama because they can trust him. And folks are supposed to use that trust to empower the president to take us "forward" for another four years. The audacity of this man just takes your breath away.
Trust? Trust?? How can you expect voters to trust a serial liar like you? You lied when you told us about those "shovel ready" jobs. You lied when you told us we could keep our health insurance if we liked it. You lied when you said you would tackle immigration reform in your first term. You lied when you told us you would cut the budget deficit in half. You lied when you told us the health care negotiations would be televised on C-SPAN. And you lied when you told the middle class you wouldn't raise their taxes -- or do you think they are magically exempt from all the new taxes in Obamacare, including the TAX associated with the individual mandate?
You lied every time you implied that millionaires and billionaires pay taxes at a lower rate than middle class families when the fact is the CBO reports the effective tax rate of those rich folks is nearly three times as much as middle class families. You lied every time you implied rich folks don't pay their "fair share" in taxes when in fact the CBO also reports the top 1% of earners paid 39% of all federal income taxes even though they account for only 13% of national income. You lied when you told us federal spending on your watch has increased at the lowest rate since the Eisenhower administration. And you shamelessly lied when you told us your mother spent the last months of her life fighting with health insurance companies that sought to deny her the health care coverage she needed for treatment.
You lied when you told your union pals you would join them on the picket line if their unconstrained bargaining power was ever challenged – some folks in Wisconsin are still waiting for you to show up. You lied when you kept telling us you've never apologized for America's behavior – Mr. President, it's not necessary to literally use the word "apologize" to convey the apologetic sentiments that you did, so stop trying to parse your way out of that accurate criticism. And you lied through your teeth for WEEKS about the cause of the Benghazi attack, to include giving an embarrassing speech at the UN where you apologized for America yet again by pushing the false narrative of blaming the violence on a video six different times.
Your litany of whoppers was on display as recently as the last debate. You lied about Romney's position on the issue of the government providing support in the auto bankruptcies – even David Letterman is calling you out on that one. You lied when you said Republicans proposed the looming sequestration when in fact it was YOUR negotiating team led by YOUR chief of staff who originally put the sequestration idea on the table. You lied when you suggested that Romney's position on wanting to keep some troops in Iraq after the withdrawal date was substantially different from your own position. Because the fact is you tried to negotiate an agreement with Iraq to keep some troops in country – and it was Iraq that rejected YOUR proposal. And you lied about Romney's position on tracking down bin Laden by taking an old quote completely out of context and ignoring Romney's broader argument that the threat posed by Islamic terrorism won't be neutralized by taking out one man – as the Benghazi episode has so painfully reminded to us.
There's a lot more examples where those came from, yet even in the face of your persistent history of calculated deception you have the unmitigated gall to ask for our trust? How dare you sir, how dare you! The electorate of this country gave you their trust in 2008. But you took that gift and abused it in the extreme, and the country is in no mood to make that mistake again.
So you're right Mr. President, trust does matter. The problem is that when it comes to trust, you have no case.
The only time John Sununu was worth listening to was in the Naked Gun movie. This man is vile and any association picks up his stench.
OPEN YOUR EYES AMERICA!!!!! In 10 days we have an opportunity to right a wrong. I find that when someone screams liar and bulls##ter at another, it generally means they are the guilty ones.
http://www.therightsphere.com/2012/04/president-flip-flop-barack-obamas-broken-promises-policy-reversals-and-continuous-flip-flops/
Today’s WSJ Potomac Watch column by Kim Strassel details a HILLARYOUS diagnosis of “stage 10 Obamanesia” citing Barry’s many, many significant policy flip-flops.
My personal favorite is his pledge that "If I am the Democratic nominee, I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election” and then flip-flopping when he realized he could raise and spend enormous amounts of $$$$$ if he DIDN’T take public financing. The irony of him being the FIRST Presidential candidate in history to opt out of public financing of his campaign, and his and all the lefty liberals whining and complaining about Citizen’s United is just too FUNNY for words.
Hypocritical MORONS all.
Nobama 2012 Really, Things Could Be Worse-
Give Me Four More Years and I’ll Prove It
From the WSJ:
With 10 days until the election, Barack Obama's latest strategy is to claim that his opponent has developed "stage 3 Romnesia." Mitt Romney, the argument goes, is conveniently forgetting his real agenda, flipping his positions to better appeal to the electorate. Since Mr. Romney's conservative base would surely disagree, this raises the question of whether the president isn't himself suffering from a psychological malady that experts call "projection."

President Obama's support of the Auto Industry, reform and restructuring has been key to American recovery. The President should be acknowledged & appreciated for bringing us to this point, from the depths of a financial meltdown of catastrophic proportions. It is no secret that since January 2009, our President has been obstructed by GOP leaders and associates at every turn.
Republican congressionals turned away, just when we needed them the most. America needed their help. Instead GOP focused vehemently for four years on the 2012 election. In a more perfect world, Romney and GOP leaders would apologize to our extraordinary President, for his courageous and dedicated work - in the face of their relentless lockstep obstruction.
At the Convention, President Clinton explained that our President has laid a strong foundation. He said we'd actually begin to feel the recovery soon enough. President Obama has earned the right to continue with this recovery process, and reap the rewards of his relentless work on our behalf.
Calling your opponent a "bullsh##er" shows a definite lack of character and control and can no way exemplify the character of the President of the United States. Giving him a pass on this and the lie after lie on Libya is just plain wrong! Close your eyes and just consider the Libya situation and the knowledge we have now that they did NOTHING as the entire event played out before this administration's very eyes and finally that stationed there was your son, daughter, family member and/or friend. Now open your eyes.
I thought you all would like to see this, from The Obama Diary:
French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault has broken with diplomatic protocol by openly expressing his hope that Barack Obama wins the upcoming US presidential election.
“If I was an American citizen I wouldn’t hesitate to vote for Obama,” he told a radio interviewer on Wednesday.
While it is hardly surprising that Ayrault, a Socialist, would support the Democrat candidate in a US election, prudence normally restricts politicians from making such remarks given the possibility they will
end up having to deal with their Republican rivals.
Ayrault is not however the first French minister to offer public support for Obama in his neck-and-neck battle with Republican Mitt Romney.
On Tuesday, Bernard Cazeneuve, the European affairs minister, said: “As far as I’m concerned, I totally support it (Obama’s re-election) and I would be astonished if the government had any other wish.”
Idiots
A bill introduced by a group of Republican state lawmakers in Pennsylvania this week set off alarms at the Children’s Defense Fund, which told Raw Story on Thursday that the proposal boils down to “starving children” in order to punish women for giving birth while on taxpayer-funded welfare.
“This is absolutely outrageous,” Patti Hassler, spokesperson for the Children’s Defense Fund, told Raw Story. “Children do not choose their parents and should not be punished for whatever their parents’ actions are. Starving a child, no matter the circumstances of birth or actions of the parents, is always wrong. It’s just outrageous.”
Update: Pennsylvania Republican withdraws ‘starving children’ bill following Raw Story report
About an hour after this story’s publication, Pennsylvania State Rep. RoseMarie Swanger (R) called to announce that she is withdrawing H.B. 2718 and will “work on a better bill for next year.”
She added that the bill that ultimately got submitted “was taken from Pennsylvania law that was introduced in the past,” and explained that she didn’t actually mean to include an exception for rape or incest at all.

Trust does matter Bill in Fairfax. I don't trust Romney. Read this:
Is that why Willard & his son Tagg bought up the voting machines which will be used in OH?
CNN says Obama's math does not add up. Get out from under your security blanket, libs, and watch this link.

Obama did:
Here it is, in all its horrifying simplicity - "I am astounded, far more than I should be, at the inability of some people to consider circumstances beyond their own experience." These are the words of a victim of her father's "attention". Here is this young woman's full story: http://littlegreenfootballs.com/page/287973_At_14_It_Was_No_Gift_From_God_
Each and every day, it's the same thing here. Romney good, Obama bad. Obama good, Romney bad. We argue about meaningless statistics, imagined slights, and we harp on issues as though they occur in a black and white world, as though they are events that occur in a vacuum.
This young woman has brought the real difference between the ideologically-driven left and right and the slavish identity-driven Democrats and Republicans into a blinding light. There is no difference. They march to battle as the cannon fodder they are, and blindly follow leaders whose real agenda turns on gaining power and accumulating wealth.
The real contest is at the center of the political spectrum between REAL conservatives and REAL Democrats and where they meet in moderate solutions. Each forsakes talking points, hollow sloganeering, and meaningless mantras as valueless noise.
The centrists must draw from their experience, and as the young woman so clearly writes, it needn't be their own. These people understand that "there but for fortune", or "there but for the grace of God, go I".
From narrow and harrowing tales of grief like this young woman's come the seeds of insanity that lead to arguments about "legitimate" rape or "forcible" rape. No, a thousand times no....rape is rape.
Justification for extreme positions based on a belief in a god or gods is every bit as evil. No person using their belief in a god can show they have been in contact with this god. They have not heard him/her, they have not seen him/her. Yet, in the absence of any proof, they insist that you must live by the tenets of their god, and books they have most likely never read.
This isn't simply about the horrors of rape. This is about being able to understand YOUR life is only YOUR life. YOUR experience is only YOUR experience. Some times you have to open YOUR mind and understand there is a world of experience which you have never seen or touched.
Life goes far beyond Me, Me, Me. I don't have to see it, to know it's real.
Things are a little strange.
We have a hurricane possibly heading this way. As Kenny Rogers would say, you picked a fine time to greet us Sandy.
Last nite after work, I was so busy reading the news on my phone at the train station, that I got on the wrong train and ended up in Dawchessta, which is miles out of my way.
I put my lovely soothing radio station on this morning at work, plug in the ear phones and the first song I hear is Dean Martin and Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. They have gone 24/7 XMAS songs, before Halloween, before Thanksgiving, and before the election.
I have substituted healthy meals for junk. And that means crap food, something I never ever ever eat.
Sleep? What sleep? Who needs sleep?
Meanwhile the President keeps keepin' on. I don't know how he does it. Smiling, relaxed, full of energy, a hoarse voice yet sparkling eyes.
I suspect this campaign would have killed me if I were a part of the president's campaign. A long time ago. haha
President Obama won by 6 points in 2008. Close actually. He won against a poor candidate, with a poor vp choice, with a poorly performing economy, with a poorly rated incumbent, with an electorate ready for 'Change'. He won because he was 'different', he was black, a minority, one who gave lofty speeches about lofty things, like stopping the rising of the seas, one who played on ones emotions who talked about the Hope of a better future, and the Change of the Washington DC culture. He talked of doing big things, huge things, to be a transitional leader that would get things done. Yes We Can. People here and abroad loved him, he was the Messiah, the one to lead not just the United States, but the world into peace and harmony, into fairness and prosperity.
Four years later, all that has collapsed. Now Obama is this weak and petulant man. One who snipes at his opponents with middle school level zingers, he is this mean and isolated aging man that is so out of touch with the voters he has to drag in the old war horse Clinton in a weak attempt to try and reconnect with the voters. Obama is a little man about little things. Raising taxes on the 'rich' by 3%, paying off the Greens with a few million dollars, making up silly names to call his opponent, using a puppet from public television as a central theme to his campaign. Small stuff. One could say Obama shrunk, but no he did not. He's always been this small, he's always been this petty, he's always been this arrogant fool. The voters saw it at his debates with his opponent, Obama is this tiny and disinterested man, a man who looked like he was inconvenienced with being on stage with someone that disagreed with him, that had better ideas, that had a superior vision. Obama looked awful, changing his strategy of "attack" for each debate as if that filled the void for his lack of results and his lack of any fresh if ideas.
Now we see the true Obama. A insignificant man more concerned about his legacy than about anything else, one that places the race card, the gender card, the minority card, all the standard liberal talking points, all of which divides the country, but he doesn't care, because it's win at any cost to Obama, because to him, it's all about him.
Romney sure surrounds himself with a lot of radicals.
Ryan..."forcible rape"
Akins (Ryan's only other forcible rape author)...women's body prevents them from getting pregnant from rape.
(Only Senator Romney runs ads for) Mourdock ... child from rape is God's will
Sununu...race is the only reason General Colin Powell supports Obama.
The list goes on and on.
Romney's friends tell the clear picture of who he is and what he believes in.
Romney himself said he enjoys firing people who don't do what he says. Romney hired and supports them, so clearly they are doing EXACTLY what Romney wants. Otherwise, he would fire them.

The better question is why women would vote for a party that wants to execute them for making a basic "life" choice. Abortion is no easy choice, but it is a fundamentally necessary option for women. Yet the GOPTP want to crucify and execute women for using this option. The GOPTP are so sick, they will mandate a 12 year old child carry to term a pregnancy after dear old dad and brother Billy Bob spend a night tossing back beers and then decide to sow their wild oats. And if she attempts to gain an abortion, it is off with her head. What type of sick society promotes familial gang rape and then forces the daughter to continue the legacy by insisting she birth the product of that disgusting act? I'll tell you who, it is the gang raping GOPTP party.

Ron I glad you called them out.
They know what they stand for hatred, bigotry and fear mongering is all they have. They figure since they are 75% of the population they have to do a lot of "Ethnic Cleansing" to get the White House. In Spanish neighbor hoods they are sending out filers with the wrong dates on them.

Well JAS1, that ought to get your "stalkers" a bit riled up this morning.
Nice Job.
Hi Beverly, Thanks for the shout-out. Some truths just have to be said.
Nah. Meaningless drivel with no basis in fact. The product of fantasy.
Well, it could always be you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille.
Obama believes he has a great new campaign theme: Â Trust.
I'm not kidding. Â Obama really is so arrogant that he believes that, despite lying to the American people for over two weeks about the cause of the Benghazi attack that cost four American lives, he can campaign on "Trust".
He then compounds that arrogance by blithely lying about Romney's auto-bailout stance, going so far as to tell people to look up the article published in the New York Times. Â I'm sure the Times will send him a thank you note, since they've never had so much traffic on their website- but Romney's thank you note ought to be in the mail, too. Â Even Letterman was appalled to see the president of the United States bald-faced lying about something so easily checked. Â That may be why the new ABC/WaPo poll has Romney up by three- and at 50% for the first time.
So, "Trust" is not working for Obama. Certainly, CNN isn't buying it
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/25/cnn_talks_with_obama_camp_and_says_obamas_math_still_doesnt_add_up.html
That could explain this
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/25/obama_at_campaign_stop_wheres_my_plan_i_couldnt_find_my_plan.html
So, what? Â They just put out a twenty page glossy of whatever was laying around?
On another note-I think we can safely identify a few people who will NOT be voting for Obama
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/25/father_of_seal_slain_in_libya_obama_and_clinton_apologies_not_sincere_didnt_feel_right.html
Given that Obama has resorted to gutter language when referencing his opponent, I assume he will have a few choice words for this father, as well.
Desperate times, they say, call for desperate measures- but the desperation in the Obama camp has led them right off the cliff into Crazyville

Obama finally has an explanation for his failure on the economy that does not include blaming someone else
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/25/obama_on_doing_homework_with_kids_the_math_stuff_i_was_fine_with_up_until_about_7th_grade.html
One problem- his difficulty does not start with seventh grade math-he doesn't get second grade arithmetic. Â If he did, he would not continue to say that $200,000 equals a million- let alone, a billion.
Ah, well. Â Better get to work on that satellite link, guys. Â Obama will be sailing off to Hawaii- and probably will not bother coming back for Romney's inauguration.
Aloha, Obama.
Where did you get the impression anyone reads her crap?
You, Mr. Me First Broccoli Bill, the idiot from Albany & Snookie-Joe are useful idiots, whose sole purpose here is to strengthen our scrolling finger! ;o)

BTW, Have a nasty day.
Once again we see Mitt Romney or his campaign staffers walking back statements made. Whether after the first presidential debate when the Mitt Team walked back most of Romney's statements or now walking back John Sununu's race-baiting remark. Who in the world would even have Sununu on the campaign staff; the guy was discredited and disgraced while he held office? He's a cranky, nasty old goat. Any candidate worthy of being considered for the presidency wouldn't just be walking back Sununu's comments, said candidate would never have brought the numnut on board in the first place, let alone make him a "top surrogate". Romney's campaign staff is filled with disgraced and discredited republicans. Romney held another fundraiser in Texas with Dick Cheney and Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck, it's a joke right? Dick Cheney, the lying war monger? Dan Senor, the discredited foreign policy expert? John Bolton? 17 of 24 Romney foreign policy "experts" are Bush/Cheney war mongers, they are the disgraced and discredited neocons who long for the next war. Mitt Romney's foreign policies will be a regurgitation of Bush/Cheney. Seriously.
Fairfax Bill, yes, trust matters. How can you trust Mitt Romney who has yet to reveal what he believes, who has flip flopped his stand on every issue multiple times; who threatens war for months, threatens to bomb Iran and whoever else gets in the neocons way, then embraces every single foreign policy position of President Obama; REFUSES to release his tax returns; REFUSES to provide details of his 20% across the board tax cuts; REFUSES to give details of his plan for creating jobs. Sorry but Mitt Romney is a pathological liar, a man with no core principles, a man who tells YOU, BILL, exactly what you want to hear.....and you lap it up like a puppy because you desperately want to believe.

Democrats for Romney 2012!!!!!!!!!!
WAPO/ABC POLL: INDEPENDENT VOTERS MOVING TO ROMNEY
The latest Washington Post/ABC tracking poll shows voters moving toward Romney since the third debate:
As Romney hits 50, the president stands at 47 percent, his lowest tally in Post-ABC polling since before the national party conventions. A three-point edge gives Romney his first apparent advantage in the national popular vote, but it is not one that is statistically significant with a conventional level of 95 percent confidence.
Results from the tracking poll were first released Monday evening, and had Obama at 49 percent, and Romney at 48. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the results were flipped, with Romney at 49 and the president at 48. All of the results are among likely voters.
Two of the four nights reported here include interviews conducted entirely after Monday's debate in Boca Raton
THE POLL SHOWS ROMNEY WINNING INDEPENDENTS BY 19 PERCENTAGE POINTS!!!
Should that advantage stick, it would be the sharpest tilt among independents in a presidential election since Ronald Reagan's 1984 landslide win. (Reagan won independent and other unaffiliated voters 63 to 36 percent, according to the exit poll). Obama won them by eight in 2008.
BYE BYE OBUMBO!!!

Open question to all those posters who like to criticize the size of the national debt.
What would Republican leadership have done to end the Great Recession?
Growth was at -8.5%
We were losing almost 800,000 jobs per month.
The banks had just received a $700 billion bailout.
The stock market was plunging.
The world was in recession.
It is easy to criticize someone else's policy when it doesn't solve 100% of all the problems we have, but what would you have done? How would that have worked out?
I'd like to hear your plan for ending the Great recession. Obama's stimulus stopped the recession in 6 months. How would your plan

It was beyond strange to talk in a heartfelt manner to right winger. Normally, I would have dropped the phone. This time I went further to ask why; I was curious. The person being was strictly republican said the tax MYTH won't release is ugly. But, he repub. Oh well
Great post Bill. This line exemplifies the class warfare aspect of the Democrats and Obama's "reasoning". Rather than celebrate hard work, rather than recognize successful individuals, rather than showing people that they too are equally able to achieve great success by their own hard work, Obama instead ridicules the successful, says they didn't build what they built, all but calls them evil, uses the populist notion that these people aren't paying their fair share in taxes. None of it is true of course, but it sounds completely right to the Leftists of the country, like to the Obama's, to the Pelosi's, to the Schumer's, to the Biden's, to the Native Americans represented by Lizzy Warren. To them, being critical of successful, hard working, and dedicated people is a simple and easy way to show that they "care" about the "working man/woman".
But Obama and his klan don't care. What they want is people to not depend on themselves, but depend on the government. Riches don't come from hard work and dedication to your craft, they come the government Obama's klan argues. A successful person that is an expert in their chosen field to the Obama types knows less than a government bureaucrat in Washington DC. To Obama, it's all about control, and in the end, all about power. Obama isn't interested in the American Dream, he's interested in his own self centered, egotistical, narcissistic dream. That gives you a good idea why the economy is doing so poorly.

In Florida, early voting starts tomorrow and continues thru No 3rd. Polls open 7am to 7pm.
Voting is being held in most Public Libraries, some Town Halls and at the county Supervisor of Elections and any branches they may have.
During early voting only, you can vote at any of your county locations no matter where you live in that county. A photo and signature IDs are required, for most people their driver's license will suffice. If you cannot provide either of those IDs you can vote by provisional ballot. Workers are trained to make sure, if you are a registered voter, you can do so, and will make every effort to ensure that right.
Vote for your choices, your voice does count......make it heard.

How is the economic equality of women under Obama? Why don't you check his immediate female employs just to make sure....
Denying healthcare to all Americans? ACA is horrible, it's driving up insurance costs on those of us employed, it's driving doctors out of the business, it's adding taxes on the middle class, it's going to hurt Medicare. I have two parents on Medicare and they are heavily against ACA. My wife, who works in the health insurance industry, finally got a raise, along with a health premium increase. Her net paycheck is now LESS than before the raise by a good amount. F**k ACA.
Suppressing American's right to vote?? Lol, get a friggin id card, most states give them away for FREE! No one is trying to stop any American citizen from voting, it's passed the Supreme Court.
Cutting funding to education... you ever notice that we keep dumping more and more money into education and our kids just keep getting dumber? Maybe it isn't the money that is the issue... Get rid of the DOE and this whole No Child Left Behind bs. Let those that are smart move ahead.

A simple question for Bill, Joe, NJNB, JAS1, et all:
I challenge any of you to cite a single issue on which Romney has not completely reversed his position.
Should be simple, right? If you trust a man enough to vote for him to lead you and your country, surely he should be a man of conviction, and you can name just ONE issue on which he has stood firm.
Romney campaigned for the Senate in 1994, then for Gov. of MA, then at least two attempts at the presidency. Plenty of things to choose from.
I dont need another list of Presidnet Obama's supposed lies or flip/flops, almost all of which are just unkept campaign promises anyway. In return I wont post the incredibly LONG list of Romney's complete reversals on all major issues.

All- Have you heard the interview with one of the fallen Bengazhi Navy Seal's dad? Look it up and spread it around. Fairfax Bill:
YOU lie, Bill. Obama did say he'd join union workers on picket lines under certain circumstances, but he never said he would do it if their "unconstrained bargaining power was challenged," or anything remotely similar. Fairfax Bill lies about Obama while he rattles off accusations of lies that Obama never told. And of course, it's OK with Bill that Romney gets away with vicious race-baiting lies like the one he told about Obama removing work requirements for welfare.
I'm still undecided on Romney, though. Is he a pathological liar, or merely a bullsh**er like Obama said? There's a deep philosophical issue underlying that question. During Bush's misrule, a professor of philosophy wrote a treatise called "On Bulls**t", in which he argued that the distinction between a liar and a BS-er is that a liar has enough respect for the truth that he takes care that his lies don't contradict observable facts in any obvious way. But a BS-er just doesn't care whether his BS is easily debunked or not, as long as there are enough gullible people eager to swallow the BS. Romney seems to be in the BS-er category to me.

Then, as a committed Obamabot, you don't deserve an answer to you question on Romney.
When we were faced with the World Trade Center attack, Americans rallied around the President to deal with the crisis. Democrats and Republicans together supported the War in Afghanistan. We didn't ask how much it would cost. We just went ahead and did what we needed to do.
Now, after almost 11 years of war there. How much did it cost? How much did it add to our national debt? Was it worth it? Could we have pursued another, cheaper solution?
My point here is you don't read questions like the ones above much. We don't discuss it, because we agree that we needed to get Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. We needed to do it.
Now, think about the Great Recession we faced in Jan 2009. Things were getting worse despite a bank bailout, a stimulus of $120 billion in Spring 2008, and Fed interest rate cuts of over 4% in 2008.
We had to do something to stop this recession from getting worse. Millions more people were on the verge of losing their jobs and their businesses. Sales were plummeting. Banks were not lending. Millions were defaulting on their mortgages. Personal finance experts were recommending consumers stop spending until their rainy day funds were replenished.
What to do? Would Republicans and Democrats rally together to save our economy in a time of need like we did to fight Al Qaeda after 9-11?
Obama stepped forward with a stimulus plan. It got 3 republican votes in the Senate to override a Republican filibuster. It was a watered down version of what Obama and economic experts wanted the stimulus to be. But that is what was needed to get 3 Republican votes.
The worst financial crisis since the Great Depression and only 3 Republicans stepped forward to try to save our nation's economy from much worse damage.
A -8.5% growth rate in a $10 trillion economy is lost output of $850 billion per year in the first year. A longer recession just reduces the output of our economy even more. 2 years at this rate is $1.7 trillion lost output and any growth in the future is off this lower base.
Realistically, if nothing had been done to stimulate the economy and it returned to its normal growth rate of 2-3% in 2 years, we would still be absorbing the -$1.7 trillion per year lower output for years to come. Over a decade at just a 1 year recession at -8.5% growth rate with no stimulus would cost our economy $8.5 trillion in lost output. A 2 year recession at -8.5% growth rate with no stimulus would have reduced our output by $17 trillion over 10 years.
Stimulus works because it replaces money lost from recession with money borrowed from investors who have nothing else to safely invest it in. It stimulates growth of consumer and business spending. It ends recessions quickly and returns our economy to higher growth rates. It works and size matters. Bush's $120 billion stimulus in 2008 was not big enough to stop the recession from getting worse. Obama's $785 billion stimulus ended the recession in 6 months and increased the growth rate to almost 4% before it ran out. A smaller, second stimulus would have kept this economy growing faster. Republicans blocked it.
Stimulus works. Obama ended the recession. What did Republicans do to help in our time of need?
Nothing, but criticize and obstruct and plot to make Obama fail.
Great description of an Obama supporter, I couldn't have written a better one.
You know I am starting to think that Romney and Koch brothers and friends have taken control of NBC. John Sununu told the press the reality of the modern Republican party. This election has a very large component that is ALL about the RACE - of the candidates.
The very real fact is that the old line Democrats who controlled the South from the end of the civil war up to 1965 all became Nixon/Reagan Dixiecrats in the 1970's and then proceeded to become the amoral minority and now the Tea Party. The only thing missing from the GOP conventions are the hoods and the burning crosses.

As I was commenting on a friends post I did a bit of "cyphering" as Jethro would say. There are approximately 311,591,917 people in the US, and around 24%, 74,782,060, of those are under the age of 18, and there are around 11,000,000 undocumented workers, making the total number ineligible to vote about 85,782,060. In 2010 only 37% of those eligible to vote voted in that election that gave the Tea Party control of the House. Meaning that out of 311 million people, only 83.5 million people voted, and out of those just over half or about 42 million people or 14% of the population voted for the wingnut Republicans like Todd Akin who thinks women have magic vaginas that can repel rape sperm. On another note, according to the CDC 1 in 7 people have some form of mental illness, or approximately 14% of our population. So, no matter how little you think your vote matters, no matter how horrible you think our choices are, no matter what your plans are for November 6th, GET YOUR ASS DOWN TO THE VOTING BOOTH AND VOTE OR YOU ARE GOING TO LET 40 MILLION CRAZY WINGNUTS, WHO BELIEVE THE EARTH IS ONLY 6000 YEARS OLD, PICK OUR NEXT PRESIDENT AND FILL OUR CONGREE WITH EVEN MORE IDIOTS. You don’t have to vote Democrat or Republican, you can choose to vote for the Green Party or the Libertarian Party or you can write in your favorite Muppet if you like, but not voting at all will assure that the worst possible people will win because that is who crazy people vote for. You can rest assured that those 40 million insane morons that gave us the likes of Michelle Bachman and Todd Akin are going to exercise their right to vote,. so exercise your right to vote and help bring some sanity back to America.
WHEN AMERICANS SAW THE REAL OBAMA
We all say Ohio, Ohio, Ohio. But it's all still Denver, Denver, and the mystery that maybe isn't a mystery at all.
If Cincinnati and Lake County go for Mitt Romney on Nov. 6 it will be because of what happened in Denver on Oct. 3. If Barack Obama barely scrapes through, if there's a bloody and prolonged recount, it too will be because of Denver.
Nothing echoes out like that debate. It was the moment that allowed Mr. Romney to break through, that allowed dismay with the incumbent to coalesce, that allowed voters to consider the alternative. What the debate did to the president is what the Yankees' 0-4 series against the Tigers did at least momentarily, to the team's relationship with their city. "Dear Yankees, We don't date losers. Signed, New Yorkers" read the Post's headline.
America doesn't date losers either.
Why was the first debate so toxic for the president? Because the one thing he couldn't do if he was going to win the election is let all the pent-up resentment toward him erupt. Americans had gotten used to him as The President. Whatever his policy choices, whatever general direction he seemed to put in place he was The President, a man who had gotten there through natural gifts and what all politicians need, good fortune.
What he couldn't do was present himself, when everyone was looking, as smaller than you thought. Petulant, put upon, above it all, full of himself. He couldn't afford to make himself look less impressive than the challenger in terms of command, grasp of facts, size.
But that's what he did.
And in some utterly new way the president was revealed, exposed. All the people whose job it is to surround and explain him, to act as his buffers and protectors—they weren't there. It was him on the stage, alone with a competitor. He didn't have a teleprompter, and so his failure seemed to underscore the cliché that the prompter is a kind of umbilical cord for him, something that provides nourishment, the thing he needs to sound good. He is not by any means a stupid man but he has become a boring one; he drones, he is predictable, it's never new. The teleprompter adds substance, or at least safety.

Independent Thought
you base your opinion on booklets and silly one liners.
I base my opinion on the fact that as a Mass resident under Romney's tenure, I witnessed hikes in property taxes, state college tuition increases, hikes in fees such licensing, registrations, marriage certificates, realestate transactions, and many many more. In 2003 alone, Romney imposed more than $500 million in fee hikes, more than any other state.
You say you don't trust someone who uses silly one liners but you trust someone who has flipped on every issue once, twice, three times, sometimes from morning to the afternoon?

You do of course realize that AF-1 is most likely better equipped as an office than is the Oval one.
133 million working Americans when Bush left office
127 million working Americans today under Obama
6 million fewer jobs yet the administration says unemployment % numbers are the same as they were in 2009. Talk about smoke and mirrors.
A vote for O is a big fat zero
Romney/Ryan 2012 bringing jobs back to Americans.
billybob -- One who thinks just cuz Bill in Fairfax says something it's true...
Bill would believe in unicorns if Romney thinks they are real.
I countered Bill's thoughts in post #1.69 on what Romney thinks, billy.
So Barry's re-election is in trouble pretty much everywhere, right? He's done such a stellar job of leading this country over the past four years one would have to wonder, "Why is he having so much trouble getting re-elected?"
Guess it has to do with his OWN RECORD............
Not going to able to blame Bush for this one Barry.........
Romney/Ryan express coming thru.... ALL ABOARD.........
Obama hasn't had a chance since day one... not that liberal propaganda sites like NBC would ever admit it to their gullible sheep.
Romney Hits the 50 Percent Mark in New National Poll
"Romney's gains are clear especially in results on the economy."
"Equally important, Romney has erased Obama's customary advantage on which candidate better understands the economic problems of average Americans."
"There are other signals of Romney's gains...."
"By a broad 47-10 percent, independents say the debates left them with a better rather than a worse impression of Romney. In the same group, by contrast, just 17 percent say their impression of Obama improved - and 26 percent say it got worse."

Obama's debate performances repulsed over %50 more people than they impressed!.... and liberals still think he won the last one.
Good Morning everyone. I just wanted to stop by and say hello. It's cold and dreary out here on the prairie this morning. A typical late Fall type day. It's mildly depressing.
I'm tired of politics.
OH yes, I'm concerned about the future of this country, more so than I have ever been in my 62 years. But I'm bone weary of politics and all the pointless political sniping.
I want to buy a new Jazz Guitar and retreat to my nice snug little house with my snug little wife of 33 years and my dogs, play some smoooooooth, relaxing jazz on my news guitar and tip a few cold ones.
Well, the guitar will have to wait until I see how the election turns out. I may not be able to afford it if the Rominator wins. I may need all my cash for my relocation to Costa Rica. So, I guess I'll go play my 30 year old Martin HD35 (sweet old box) and hope for better times.
Have a nice day everyone, and I mean everyone. Life is too short for all this vitriol and hairy eyeball stuff today. I just want to play "Autumn Leaves" on my guitar and mellow out. Why don't we all give it a rest, huh?
What you say and do today is not important and will not make any difference in how the election will turn out. It's locked in, we're now on auto-pilot. Barring a major catastrophe or mis-step by the President or the former Governor, the election has been decided and you should all chill out and start to rebuild your relationships because what you are all doing is now totally meaningless and totally counter-productive. You're just stirring the pot.
I'm going home and play my old guitar, go out for some Sushi tonight and wait for November 6. When the President is re-elected I'll feel secure enough to to celebrate and drop the two grand on my new Gibson ES 137.
Have a great weekend everybody.
Obama/Biden 2012
Wish I could join you skip. Sounds lovely. Greet the family for me!
Bill, Fairfax VA
And Obama thinks Romney will be a disaster for the country. So what? Your failure to come up with a single issue where Mittens hasn't flip flopped underscores what an unprincipled scoundrel he is.
@NDD
Because in the event of a tie the new House of Representatives elect the President, one vote per state delegation and it is still likely the Republicans will have a majority of the state delegations.
The Senate elects the Vice-President and it is possible the new Senate will still have a majority of Democrats.
Why do mock someone when you are obviously the ignorant one?
Hi Skip...
Meant to thank you for the kind words the other day!! Have a great weekend!!
Alan...
Even crazier would be the situation where the new Senate is 50-50!!!???
Good luck with the storm headed your way. :-)
I hear conservatives brag about how much they love America,
they have made in China flag decals all over their cars and they wear their
patriotism on their sleeves just as they do their religion, rubbing it in
everyone’s face all day long. But do they really love this country or is it just
plastic patriotism, all show and no substance?
Let’s take a look at America and exactly what the
conservatives like and dislike about. Back in the 17th century the
Pilgrims came to America seeking freedom from religious persecution, so one can
say that freedom of religion is one of our founding principles. Do the
conservatives believe in freedom of religion? NO! Well only for Christians,
they believe that this country is a Christian nation and only that only
Christians should be free to practice their religion openly, and that is not freedom of religion. Okay so that
is one aspect of America they don’t like and are always trying to change.
Our Constitution states that all men are created equal. Do
the conservatives believe that all men are created equal? NO First of all they
do not believe that non-Christians should have the same rights as Christians.
George H. W. Bush said, “I do not believe that atheists are patriots and they
should not be considered citizens.” They also don’t think that the indigenous
people of this land are equal, nor do they think they should have the right to
practice their own religion or speak their native language. The same goes for
the descendants of the slaves they brought over from Africa or the migrant
workers who pick their fruits and vegetables and clean their houses. Strike
two!
How about the Frist Amendment of the Constitution, "Congress
shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the
free exercise thereof." Well obviously they don’t like that, they are
constantly trying to get Congress to pass laws that would respecting the
establishment of Christianity in our public schools, our places of employment,
our courts, etc. Throughout the 20th century they fought to erode
the separation of church and state by sneaking the word god into our national
anthem, onto our money and even into our electoral system which Article VI,
paragraph 3 of the US Constitution clearly forbids, “no religious test shall
ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the
United States”. Strike three!
What about Freedom of Speech? Only if it applies to their
speech, when anyone else tries to speak out they call them traitors and
“anti-American”. What of Freedom of the Press? Again, only Fox news can bad
mouth Democrats, if anyone of the other news agencies says something bad about
a Republican president then they are committing treason in the eyes of the
conservatives. Strike four and five!
Do they like our natural spaces? Our scenic beauty? Our
forests and lakes? Well only if they can exploit them for a profit, if anyone
even mentions conservation the conservatives call them tree hugging hippies or
label them “eco-terrorists”. Strike six!
How about our neighbors to the north and south, Canada and
Mexico? LOL, I don’t even think I need to address this one; the conservatives
want to put a big wall around this country so none of “those people” can get
in. Strike seven.
So what exactly do the conservatives “love” about America
other than the made in China plastic flag decals they plaster all over their
made in Japan cars?
John Snoozaroo needs to wake up and join us in the 21st century.
Obama will win with 304 electoral votes.

Bottom of recession March 14th 2009 . Stimulus signed into law on February 17, 2009
His stimulus didn't have time to work. We had a downward spike in the market and unemployment and the market bounced off the bottom. Obama had no control over that.

Oh wow a real treat. One more story to share which I just remembered. I was in the chain store that took over Dominick's about three weeks ago. The cashier noticed my President Obama born in America button on my coat and told me how sad and ashamed she was of the GOP. I told her about the Obama Photo Diary and recruited her as a volunteer for OFA.

Bill, Fairfax Va:
This is a convenient distortion of the facts, frankly. The CBO reports the effective tax rate of those rich folks was based on quintiles, defining the 'middle class' as the middle quintile, and those 'rich folks' as the top quintile. The middle quintile is comprised of people earning from about $18.5k to about $35k - basically the working poor. The top quintile is everyone making more than $88k - which actually includes most of the real 'middle class', and accounts for 85% of all wealth in the country - not just income, but all assets.
But the top 1% accounts for over 50% of all investment assets in the country. Finally, since the CBO report is based on results in the 2008-2009 timeframe, when the stock market was tanked, and since the vast majority of income for the top 1% comes from capital gains, dividends and carried interest, their relative income for that time period is not particularly relevant.
Romeny was asked by the Boston Globe about a letter he wrote the New England Gay and Lesbian paper, Bay Windows, “I think the gay community needs more support from the Republican Party and I would be a voice in the Republican Party to [support gays and lesbians]."
Romney's answer began, "You have to consider who the letter was directed towards..."
That, in a nutshell, is the character of the man that conservatives would elect president. Romney will say whatever he thinks needs to be said to close a deal. He has no moral compass other than "I am willing to do whatever, say whatever." That is one reason that Massachusetts is voting for Obama by a 25% margin - they know Mitt better than the rest of the country.
Feisty FishSmelling Redhead, your up early to defend your freebees we see. At least go wash your odor off. You continue to smell up the board with your skanky self. You can't help yourself though we know. Your drivel is worthless and you know it. Obama is done and so are your foodstamps!
Seriously, feisty deadhead - talk about being racist re-read your post - kinda like the pot calling the kettle black don't ya think! You are a troll!

His stimulus didn't have time to work. We had a downward spike in the market and unemployment and the market bounced off the bottom. Obama had no control over that.
Response: The stimulus was signed into law 2/17/09. The recession bottomed out one month later. 6 months after signing, we went positive on GDP and hence technically ended the recession. 10 months after signing, we bottomed out on unemployment at 10.2%, and have seen slow but steady improvement to 7.8% ever since.
Many, many smart economists credit the stimulus with this turn around, and the timing sure supports it.
Incidentally, top CEOs from all across the nation signed onto Obama's common sense tax plan yesterday (cut spending, increase taxes, both in modest ways as the fiscally responsible path to controlling the deficit).
This is the amazing thing to me - Obama is the fiscal conservative here, preaching common sense, and supported by CEOs and economists. Yes, there is still a deficit after 4 years, but it's been shrinking by at least $100b/year for 3 years. Romney is wildly irresponsible, wants to cut revenue and increase spending, and doesn't talk about improving the deficit at all in his first term (in fact, they acknowledge that they will make things worse for the first 4 years!!!). How anyone can support Romney is beyond me.
The minimum tax rate of anyone making less than $100,000 is about 13% - that's where everyone starts. That's the tax rate for Medicare taxes and social security.
According to Fox News, yes, Fox News, http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/25/fact-check-is-romney-tax-rate-really-lower-than-yours/ , IRS data from 2010 shows someone making between $50,000 and $75,000 on average pays an effective rate of 7.8 percent - on income tax.
That is the Federal tax rate on income. Add up the total taxes, and you have an average rate of 20.8%, which is about 50% greater than Mr Romney's rate.
Look at your own paycheck. Do the math. You are paying more per dollar than Mr Romney did.
There is no doubt that Republicans can do math. No one can be that stupid. This is willful, deliberate lying.

Obama 49, Romney 49.
News from liberal Key West. . .
Lots of Romney signs. Thought I saw some Obama signs- but they turned out to say "Nobama".
My favorite? The yard sign that said "I'm voting for the Mormon; not the Moron".
My best friend down here also has a home in Ohio. A staunch democrat, she's completely resigned to the outcome of this election. In addition to all the Romney signs here-to say nothing of the dearth of Obama signs- she says that the polls showing Ohio close must be polling the populace of Ohio, Mars.
Nothing BUT Romney signs everywhere.
She buys the NY Times explanation- its Clinton's fault.
Only if your opponent is not such a person. I would rather have a President who just tells the truth. Wouldn't you?
Sure would like to know why Obama is so worried about releasing his college records, transcripts, and other information? Now he could do it and have a charity of his choice get $5 million dollars from The Donald! Maybe Barry really has something to hide, eh?
Or maybe Barry thinks he can name himself a charity after the election!
Lovely Michelle Obama is in my Town of La Jolla Ca today at a Breakfast fund raiser, and from what I can tell there is a long line and a Ton of Patriotic 1%ers who are supporting President Obama, Now if we could just get the Una-brow Cave-Dwellers from the American Taliban party out of Office we can finally move this Country Forward for Prosperity for ALL 100% of Americans
also There seems to be more Registration Fraud from the GOP in Indiana where They was supposed to take off 800 names from voter registration and instead they took off 18,000 Mainly people who voted for POTUS Obama in 2008
Obama/Biden 2012 The GOP are running our Country like Joseph Stalin
Fairfax Bill, nope, you're flat out wrong. I stand behind President Obama because I trust him, see that he has moved this country from the depths of near depression, see his accomplishments. President Obama is running on his record, he kept the country from falling off the cliff, saved the American auto industry, has fought China's unfair trade practices, ended the war in Iraq and is ending the one in Afghanistan, he passed health care legislation, passed the Lilly Ledbetter fair pay law which allows women to sue employers for discrimination with no time limits, ended DADT, etc etc etc. Those promises he hasn't kept are not because he didn't try but because Congress is dysfunctional thanks to republican obstructionism.
You still didn't name one single issue on which Mitt Romney has maintained the same position. What you posted doesn't count because that's just party talking points. Shoot, Bill, Romney even denied his tax cut plan existed in the first debate and the next day, he back tracked and said it did; then this week, flip flopped on his foreign policy to embrace President Obama. Not to mention the dozens and dozens of other flip flops from Mitt. Jon Huntsman is absolutely right--Romney is nothing more than a "well-oiled weather vane".
OMG, here we go again with the college transcripts. Did you demand Bush release his? Why no demand that Romney release his college transcript OR BETTER YET his tax returns? What "pious baloney" from the naybobs.
DB,
The last 17 polls in Wisconsin since mid-August Romney leads in NONE

Biddog, anybody who would twist a politician's comments so horribly... is someone with a twisted mind! What punks you libbies have shown yourself to be!
If 95% of whites supported Romney people would be SCREAMING racism, but when 95% of blacks support Obama everyone thinks that's normal. Do you really think race isn't a factor here? If you don't think race is playing a factor google Stacey Dash and see what happens when a black woman tries to endorse Romney over Obama.
Why is that a problem? Obama having a legacy means that he did good for the country. Mostly, this means that he saved the economy that his predecessor had left in ruins, but also healthcare, ending two wars and restoring America's status in the word.
It's interesting listening to the Republicans who harp on about "Obama's legacy." Listen closer and you can hear the truth - they don't want Obama to have a legacy and in order to do that, they are willing to hurt the country so that they can defeat Obama. To hurt the President is to hurt the country.
THAT is the real reason you hear so many complaints about Obama's legacy.
I heard that Donald Trump could make an easy 1 Million, I will add an additional 1,000.00 to that Million, and all the Donald has to do is let Colbert put a couple of Nuts in the Donald's Mouth, Why not Nuts for a Nut

How much of the United States of America is voting in Ohio? Seriously, if you vote for the candidate who logs less hours in Ohio, and send them a letter why you voted for them, you might be doing this country a favor.
Campaign in Ohio on your way around the country? No problem. Campaign only in Ohio?

It's typical that a liar like Fairfax Bill responds with grammar school taunts when he's exposed as the liar he is.
Just to set the record straight for all you dreamers who think Obama is great. Romney will be our next President. now stop crying and wipe your tears away and go find a job and stop asking for those who work hard to pay for you free loaders.
New Public Policy Polling survey in Virginia, conducted on behalf of Health Care for America Now, finds Barack Obama expanding his lead in the aftermath of his debate victory Monday night. He now has 51% to 46% for Mitt Romney, up from a 49/47 advantage last weekend.
Key findings from the survey include:
-Obama’s seen a 7 point net improvement in his favorability rating among Virginia voters from a -3 spread last week (48/51) to now +4 at 51/47. Romney’s numbers have headed in the other direction. He’s dropped 7 points from a +2 spread on our last poll (49/47) to now -5 at 46/51.
-Voters trust Obama more than Romney on several major issues in the election. Those include who voters think will stand up for the middle class (52/44) and who they think will do more to protect Medicare (50/46).
-Obama leads 57/41 with women, 88/8 with African Americans, and 53/42 with young voters. Romney has a 50/45 advantage with men, a 57/41 one with whites, and a 57/41 edge with seniors. Obama’s moved from being slightly behind with independents last week at 45/44 to now slightly ahead at 47/45.

DB, I've also seen polls with the president leading in ALL battleground states, including Colorado. We don't know what to believe at this point, however, if these VA's hold for the president, game over, assuming he nails Ohio, which seems pretty likely considering all the early voting that has gone on in that state, with the democrats having a huge edge in voting there.
But like I said, we just don't know. Polls are all over the place.

Good facts on tie breaking procedure in House. You do good facts on most things as you nitpick through our President's policies.
My question to you is what would you and your representatives in Congress have done to end the 2008-2009 Recession? It is easy to nit pick what has happened already. I could write 10 pages on Bush policy failures, but also on how I would have done it better. Hindsight is 20/20 fro some of us.
What would you have recommended to end the Great Recession? How would it have affected our nation' output of goods and services? How would it have affected our national debt?
These are big questions, but all I hear from you and other Republican posters is criticism and little else. What would you have done?
Debt - 4 more means 20+ trillion of debt, Mideast including Libya disaster, Fast and Furious, Big Bird, Over spending, Unemployment and underemployment, Nationalizing Auto; Green and other industries, lack of leadership to move congress, blame game, divide and conquer approach to everything, continued wars, gas prices, inflation, quantitative easing, tax the rich, make more poor - especially women, health care, Executive orders, no Budget for 4 years, apology for US, Israel, Russia, China...it goes on and on...
I know how I'm voting in Ohio.
Wish you all the best
Noncoms on what planet did you get that. The CEO's in no way endorsed Obama or his tax plan. The quote from the LA Times is below about the CEO's. They want increased revenue through eliminating exemptions and deductions NOT TAX INCREASES. They also want to reform Medicare and Medicaid. They also said our current trajectory is unsustainable. They are much more in line with Romney's plan and are saying the direction were heading now is wrong. I don't know how you could have gotten it so wrong that they were backing Obama. In fact they actually didn't back anyone. They just backed Romney's idea on taxes, changes to Medicare and Medicaid etc.
To John Sanunu,
Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.
Tired calls for tax return releases that have already happened (showing Mitt Romney to be the most charitable Presidential candidate ever!) and the race card in the first two post. It's going to be a good day!
Funny, I live in a part of Ohio that leans Republican in every election, yet the yard signs in my neighborhood are almost even.
Unscientific count of car magnets and bumper stickers favors Pres. Obama - but in Romney's defense maybe some of his supporters don't want stickers or magnets on their fancy foreign cars or Cadillacs!
Polls are just polls, but Romney has yet to show a lead in ANY poll in Ohio. Obama has the better ground game, early voting is significantly in his favor, and Dems are still organized and fired up about the attempt by Gov Kasich to "bust" the public unions.
Romney won't be getting too many votes in Ohio from Teachers, Firefighters, Police Officers or Auto Workers.
Worked for Ted Kennedy!
I just wanted to say thanks to Dawn, Frank and Chilled for the nice response and well wishes.
Frank, you are my favorite Republican and I find your words thoughtful and respectful, always.
Dawn, thanks, I wish you could join us. You would like my wife and I hear this new Asian fusion restaurant we're going to try is wonderful.
Chilled, thanks a lot and I sure hope I get to go ahead and buy that new guitar instead of going to Costa Rica. But we'll just have to see.
Everybody else, give it a rest kids.
It is, what it is and it will be what it will be.
Speaking as someone who has worked in politics and run two successful campaigns I can tell you that we are now on auto-pilot. Barring a honest to goodness October/November surprise or a big honkin' mistake by one or the other candidate the election is in the bag.
Nothing you do or say will change anything so you might as well sip a cold one and wait for the outcome on November 6. You're not accomplishing anything here except raising your blood pressure.
To all my Republican and Democrat friends and even spineless Independents like myself, have a great weekend.

his sterilized tax returns? Even the one that he manipulated to show a higher rate? Did Mitt overpay in taxes on purpose or are his accountants incompetent?

With Romney as President, freeloaders like her will have to learn that getting welfare also means looking for work! A foreign concept to obamamites! And I don't think trolling truck stops in N Illinois counts as work dear feisty! :)
Averon1,
The depth of stupidity underlying this statement is breathtaking. . . .

Until 2008, 100% of white voters, and 100% of black voters, supported a white guy every single election. Does that mean that the US was racist until 2008?
But seriously, 78% of Jewish voters, 67% of Hispanic voters, 62% of Asian voters, 56% of women, 66% of (18-29) voters, and 69% of first time voters also voted for the black guy? You're going to call them racist, too?
Any poll that shows Colorado as a tie is way off. I live here and most polls have Romney up by more then two. Rasmussen has Romney up 4 in Colorado.
I have also seen polls where Romney is tied or ahead in Pennsylvania and Michigan (blue states)
Polls are junk, the election is what matters!

After reading the first 4 or 5 postings I felt like I needed to take another shower. There are some people on here with some severe issues.............I don't mean political I mean mental. They just sort of feed off each other in a deranged sort of way

@LogicRequired
Excellent posts and spot on.
Christine Romner stated in her proposal for the stimulus that the only way to get money into the economy fast enough was through tax cuts. Instead of tax cuts I would have argued for a 4 year infrastructure fund that would have financed long-term capital projects rather than shovel-ready "quick-fixes". I also would not have sent the money to the states so that they put off the day reckoning for a couple of years.
Borrow for Investment yes, borrow to cover current expenditures no.
Money for basic research yes, money for commercial ventures in the market place no.
Money for math and science yes, money for all education no.
We need realistic goals and then a plan to achieve them. The stimulus was simply throwing money at every problem at the end of the day it did not achieve it's stated goals of keeping unemployment under 8% (don't yell at me its in the proposal), nor its long term goal of achieving unemployment under 6% today.
Something Strange is going on with the MSNBC site, what's up with that ????
Are they destroying one of the best sites, hope not ????
Liberals were accusing him of paying no taxes or even worse cheating on his taxes. What he released showed he has paid taxes every year. The one year he didn't claim his full charitable givings so his rate was over 10%, had he claimed them all he still would of paid taxes but his rate might have fell under 10%. The two points to remember are one - Democrats lied when they said he cheated or didn't pay taxes, and point two - that his returns showed he and his wife give millions to charities, over 10% of their earnings which should be applauded not scorned. You liberals talk about caring for the poor, but when it comes to your time and money you're very cheap, the Romney's have for decades now given much of their time and wealth. Actions speak louder then words.
You liberals talk about caring for the poor, but when it comes to your time and money you're very cheap, the Romney's have for decades now given much of their time and wealth. Actions speak louder then words.
Do you think removing food stamp assistance and undermining unemployment benefits amounts to caring for the poor?

President Obama and Mitt Romney are now tied in the critical battleground state of Wisconsin.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Wisconsin Voters shows the president and his Republican challenger each earning 49% support. One percent (1%) likes another candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
This race remains a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections. Obama carried Wisconsin by a 56% to 42% margin in 2008.
BYE BYE OBUMBO!!!
...
Quite a few here are saying media outlets are saying Obamas numbers do not add up, yes they do,if you have not checked them for your self please do so.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/tax-policy-center-spotlight-romney-173604062.html
This is an unbiased report that will show Romneys numbers do not add up. And the effects his tax plan will have on America. The gyst of the report to Romney is nice try, but your numbers do not work.
The important thing for those of you saying Obama should be out because he did not deliver the last 4 yrs need to understand that it is much more important to look to where we are going now, more than where we have been. Remember this when you are in the booth.
Romney has already lost the respect of some world leaders. I will show you here with source that his tax plan does not work,(according to the experts) numbers do not lie. Why take a chance on going backwards, when we are already moving FORWARD.
Vote FORWARD not BACKWARD.
Obama/Biden 2012
So now liberals are mad Romney paid to much?
This back and forth bickering over "lies" and "flip-flop" politics aimed fairly equally at each candidate for President of the United States - well, it's getting old, literally.
First, I dare say that not one of us NV posters could truthfully say, "I have never lied in my entire life." Moving on, I also say that not one of us NV posters could ever truthfully say, "I have never changed my mind about an opinion I had."
Yes, you are going to tell me - so what if every person lies, the President (or even a Governor) is NOT supposed to lie or flip flop their opinion. Why not, they were humans before they took the oath to be an elected leader, and they are humans after.
Some say President Obama is a narcissist, some say Romney is - I say, you probably have to be to get this high in our political system. There are plenty of people who are smarter and more humble than either candidate - do you honestly believe they would ever be elected? Of course not, this country likes superhero's - "He quickly rose through the ranks while Senator," or "The Governor inherited a state with a huge deficit and worked tirelessly to balance the state's budget." Ummm....what lovely statements, especially when "He did his job adequately," would be the truth and more to the point.
How quickly WE THE PEOPLE completely forget and/or fabricate the past.... the lists below are BARELY THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG! Just a sampling - I haven't even touched corruption, false flags, etc....
Name a US President (or even a few Senators) who did not lie during their term in office - or flip flop or make (to the still Puritanical United States a "moral" mistake. You should be having a very hard time...because they all have, here are some of those:
We all know Clinton and Nixon lied publicly, Bush 1 & 2 also both lied (Bush 1 had an Ambassador's (from Kuwait) daughter say that Iraqi soldiers were killing babies in the ICU in Kuwait - of course, that was a lie - but one Pres. Bush 1 used for months in speeches in order to make the case for Operation Desert Storm. http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~marto/aip/mcohen.htm
Bush 2 and WMD's - go to 5:05-6:04?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvliUuXjbL4&feature=related
Presidents do lie when they want to go to war : http://www.lewrockwell.com/higgs/higgs10.html
1898: Pres. McKinley
1916: Pres. W. Wilson was re-elected with the slogan, "Keep US out of the War" (WW1) - he won, and promptly asked Congress for a declaration of war (which he did get)
FDR - literally pushed the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor, during re-election in 1940 he said: I have said this before, but I shall say it again and again: Your boys are not going to be sent into any foreign wars." He was lying when he said that and soon the US was engaged in WWII.
Lyndon B Johnson 1964 election: "We are not about to send American boys 9 or 10,000 miles away from home to do what Asian boys ought to be doing for themselves." In 1965 - committed 500,000 to the "war" in Vietnam
Pres. Reagan and his involvement with Iran Contra scandal
We have history books rewritten - such as Pres. Lincoln, the great Emancipator. Was he, no - he didn't care about "colored people" - as he wrote in his letter to Horace Greeley: http://showcase.netins.net/web/creative/lincoln/speeches/greeley.htm Actually, this letter shows the extent as to how much Lincoln could FLIP-FLOP
"I would save the Union. I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution. The sooner the national authority can be restored; the nearer the Union will be "the Union as it was." If there be those who would not save the Union, unless they could at the same time save slavery, I do not agree with them. If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time destroy slavery, I do not agree with them. My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union. I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause. I shall try to correct errors when shown to be errors; and I shall adopt new views so fast as they shall appear to be true views."
In a report - EVERY President has been human and lied, etc... http://www.theonion.com/articles/report-presidents-washington-through-bush-may-have,20/?ref=auto
Elected officials and secret "love" children: Pres. Grover Cleveland, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Pres. Thomas Jefferson (6 children), Senator John Edwards, NY Rep. 13th Dist. Vito Fossella, Pres. Warren Harding, Senator Strom Thurmond - I'm sure I'm missing some, but I don't have all day to look them all up...
http://www.businessinsider.com/schwarzenegger-secret-love-child-2011-5?op=1
Affairs in the White House? Only 7 are documented as having affairs while in the White House...everyone knows that list... http://nolanthomas.hubpages.com/hub/Sexual-Affairs-by-US-Presidents
So, what I'm saying is - lying, cheating, arrogant - that is what get's one elected...from either party...the same goes for who sits at the table of the worlds largest corporations... look at Jack Welch (GE), Rudy Giuliani (ex NYC Mayor) ... they didn't get to the top by being nice or truthful.... Pres. Jimmy Carter was honest - and he gets bashed (still) at every turn.
While we are talking about liars in office - let's include every President and every official associated with the Bureau of Indian Affairs - the number of treaties broken by the White House from the countries inception to now, is in and of itself staggering.
No matter who wins this election - they will make a mistake or disappoint some voters during their term. However, the world is becoming a trickier place than it was 100 years ago...having people hurdle insults such as "libtard" or "right wingnut," does nothing to help this "Republic." The more we argue, the more our leaders get away with because we are not holding any leader responsible for their actions - yet we pay their salary, we pay for whatever they decide to do....we are not powerless, unless we bicker with each other like children!
It's easy to be generous with others money, the Romney's are generous with their own money.
Besides Romney is not for removing food stamps assistance or undermining unemployment, he is for getting people jobs so they don't need these programs
The only Money to charity Romney gives is to The Church of the Mormon Cult, and unless you are a member of that cult Romney gives you nothing
Wall Street Gaming Romney Win: 'Trillions at
Stake'

Wall Street is beginning to game
out what will happen to Federal Reserve policy and interest rates if Republican
Mitt Romney is elected president.
Mitt Romney speaks during a campaign rally Tuesday in
Morrison, Colo.
With Romney drawing even in recent
polls, markets are taking more seriously his vow to replace Fed Chairman Ben
Bernanke as well as his criticism of Fed policy, creating the potential for what
one fund manager calls "a monetary cliff."
"The
election may impact everything from mortgage costs to the cost of financing the
U.S. debt. Trillions are at stake, as well as the fate of the U.S. dollar," said
fund manager Axel Merk.
Sorry Pat, Boston #1.12 but Ayrault is hardly a glowing endorsement. I believe he lead the socialist party in France for many years. Next you are going to say that Chavez and Castro have given their endorsement for Obama...wait, what?
Randy
How do you determine the bottom of recession to a specific date? It is beyond the ability of Bureau of Labor Statistics to do this. Do you have some magical source you'd like to share with us. The date you cite is the low point of stock market, which is not a gauge of growth in our economy, but of future expectations and immediate investor cash needs.
The passage of stimulus told Wall Street and Main Street that help was coming. Aid to states of $200 billion prevented layoffs of 600,000 + state, local, and school district employees in each state' next fiscal year budget. Aid to long term unemployed kept them form defaulting on their mortgages and continue some consumer spending, albeit at a lower level. In Pa, we would have had to layoff in June 2009. Other states on the same July-June fiscal year would have had to do same. Many other states without rainy day funds would have had to layoff their workers in 2nd quarter 2009 when they saw their tax revenues declining more than expected since passage of last budget. The shovel ready projects put 750,000 to work in 2nd, 3rd quarter 2009. All these things ended the recession in Summer 2009. It would have dragged on much longer and had the potential to get much worse without Federal stimulus.
You are so ignorant of the effectiveness of stimulus.
What do you think Reagan did to end his recession? Stimulus spending and tax cuts (which is also stimulus, although it has the least impact on economy of any stimulus and frequently, those tax cuts add billions to the deficit every year until they are repealed.)
What did Bush II do to end his .com recession? Stimulus spending and 2 rounds of tax cuts (which still add billions and billions to our deficit every year).
Businesses could delay tough cutbacks temporarily in anticipation of Federal stimulus helping economy. Consumers could see light at the end of the tunnel, so they did not have to completely stop spending to replenish their rainy day funds.
You are the one who cannot see the reality of our desperate situation in early 2009.
Again, all you Republican posters offer NO alternative solutions to ending the Great Recession. Although, you sound as if you would have recommended doing nothing. I wonder how the stock market would have reacted to that? I wonder how many more millions of people would have lost their jobs and homes. I wonder how man tens of thousands of businesses would have closed their doors forever.
OBAMA 2012....his stimulus ended the great Recession and put us on the rod to higher growth (now 2%, despite Republicans blocking his second smaller stimulus).
Right. A statement from a real genius. Under Romney unemployment will drop to 0% and everyone will make a living wage and no one will need Food Stamps. Only someone who believes in fairy tales would insinuate such a thing. Only someone who has never known an individual or family who has genuinely needed this kind of assistance for a period of time after an illness or loss of a job would believe this. Logic Required--you really do require a healthy dose of logic.
@black kettle;
Umm it is an election year sir, yes it is old over 300 yrs old.lol
I challenge you to find anything in my post I have said about Romney or Obama that is not true. You might find a wrong but I doubt it. If I say someone is lying I can usually back it up more than once, because I check myself, and my post for truth before I post them. I am not the Romney campaign that reads information and statistics off speeches without checking them. That is no lie sir.
If you wish more people to read your post I would shorten it up sir, there is not enough time in the day for this.lol

First, thank you for your response.
No numbers, but at least a framework.
Second, when stimulus was proposed growth rate # for 3rd quarter was -5% and 4th quarter # came in end of Jan at -3.5%. The unemployment projection figure you cite of under 8% was based on these latest figures.
However, in Summer of 2009, BLS released revised numbers. Check it out. You do good research. These revise numbers were -7.5% for 3rd quarter 2008 and -8.5% for 4th quarter 2008. In other words, the economy was shrinking at more than double the rate than the experts knew when the stimulus passed.
It takes awhile for accurate numbers to be gathered in a time of dramatic economic change. Some say they used to do a better job at this before budget cuts reduced their effectiveness. Perhaps, you'd like to look into this as well. I know you are a smart guy and you do good research from what I've seen.
Thanks for your reply.
"Calling your opponent a "bullsh##er" shows a definite lack of character and control"
Hey Ben -- you remind me of that kid in the 5th grade -- the one nobody liked and for good reason -- the one who ran inside during recess and whined -- teacher, teacher -- Billy said a bad word. The one lacking is character Mitt Romney. He lies constantly, has no spine, no backbone, no core and will take any position any issue just to gain a vote.
Well, I received this junk email today.....sounds like the Democrats know they are losing and getting desperate
This is disturbing:
Republicans and their Super PAC allies have outspent Democrats by $131.6 million, and they’ve got $169 million in the bank to drop the hammer with before the election.
All the polls show this race is tied – but Democrats have got to close the spending gap if they’re going to get their message out in the final days of this election.
The DCCC needs to raise $300,000 before tonight’s ad buy deadline to respond to the Republicans’ dishonest attacks and get the facts out to voters. They could really use your help.
Will you chip in before tonight’s ad buy deadline? Donate $3 or whatever you can right now to the DCCC Rapid Response Fund.
There’s 11 days left. What you do today could determine the outcome of the election.
So stand up and fight back:
Now let’s go win this thing!

If the right wing isn't racist, then how come they ran Herman Cain out of town nearly 5 months before they ran Newt Gingrich out of town? They were basically guilty of immorality in relationships and proclivities, yet it was easier to forgive the big fat white guy. And the foreign policy debate? Mitt flat out endorsed the president. "Everything he said, but from a white guy" was Mitt's strategy. And we're supposedly leaders as the most powerful country in the world?! How embarrassing!

Yes, short, flip uneducated opinions get a lot of votes, as does name calling.
I realize as a nation the US has ADHD - I guess I'm writing for people who read the news and don't just hear it from 30 second sound bites.
Meanwhile NBC buries the Benghazi emails story. Obama and his Cabinet said, "We have no information to suggest it was a pre-planned attack." These emails prove otherwise - (They keep stripping the URL - remove the spaces) nbcnews.com /id /49528091
NBC you're a disgrace to real reporting. If this had been a republican president you'd be hammering this down our throats. Come on show some gumption.
You're so willing to jump on a any indication of Romney 'lying', but when the President and his cabinet do it. You BURY it. Seriously Shameful.
Wheres the article talking about how they had LIVE FEED of the attack while it was happening? Where's the article about the CIA requesting to help 3 times and being told to stand down? They watched our citizens being murdered and didn't lift a finger. This should be front page news!! Seriously Shameful. Boo NBC!
@ Jack,
You are havng a tough time with reality and have now began putting words in my mouth since you have no case. The PROGRAMS you list (Food Stamps & Unemployment) will still be available under Romney, they will still be used under Romney, he has never said he wants to eliminate these programs! Under Obama's bad policies these programs have been growing, with record numbers of Americans needing them because Obama and the democrats have FAILED to create jobs, and have FAILED when it comes to wages and costs as well. Romney will work to improve the economy so that less (NOT ZERO) people need them. The Republican goal is to create an economy that allows people to work and supply for their own needs, the Democrat goal seems to be destroy the economy, get as many people on government programs as possible so you can scare them to vote for you or lose their hand outs. I don't for one minute think you didn't understand this, but again since you have no case you resorted to attacking a stawman instead.

You mean the black Herman Cain they were supporting before the media began attacking him for having affairs? I remember those vines and it was democrats pushing Herman Cain out of the race with yet another "hi-tech lynching" as Clarence Thomas once said.
Newts problems were outed years earlier and was a different set of circumstance. Besides many Conservatives (like Ann Coulter) were against Newt for those reasons.
Barack Obama has continued many of Bush's foreign policies which is why Romney didn't disagree with many of them. Drone attacks, Guantanamo, Surge in Afganistan, ect... They didn't agree on everything, which I'm sure you know but you push this talking point anyway. Maybe you should ask Obama why he is so in line with Republican foreign policy stances instead of asking Romney why he supports Obama who has continued Bush's policies?
Logic Required,
Am I putting words in your mouth here?
This is pure stupidity--or ignorance--or both. There is not a liberal poster on this site who would agree this is the "Democrat goal". Your remark ties in with the video FedupwithFed posted. His logic apparently goes like this:
A. The woman in the video touts the best place to obtain federal/state assistance.
B. She receives federal/state assistance.
C. Therefore everyone who receives federal/state assistance is like her.
Anyone who knows anything about logic knows it's a false argument.
There are freeloaders in every society. Don't condemn everyone for the actions of a few.
The personal trait that seems to unite the Right is cynicism. And Me Me Me-ism.
I'll start reading articles from the liberal Boston Globe when you start reading articles from Drudge Report, & Breitbart.com.
Logic --- let me correct this sentence you wrote:
Republicans MESSED UP this country so bad, millions of people were harmed economically and forced to take a hand up, to temporarily help them get through that VERY difficult time.
@ 1.169 Magic Tonic Kills Brain Cells
I don't know who, if any, are being paid to be on here, but I do agree that there is a tremendous amount of them on here lately, and like today, during the week, when most people are working, so you may be correct. Some seem to know each other personally but it may be that they're paid bloggers or it may be just from being on the blogs for quite a while, pre-election.
The readers of these comments should take the time to fact check to see what is, or isn't true, so they can wisely decide who they want to vote for as everything on here is not reliable, but a lot of it is.
I think by now most everyone has made of their minds.
Obama/Biden 2012 - Democrat All The Way!
CrossRoads GPS is a SuperPac operated by Karl Rove.
To date 90% of the money received through that SuperPac has come from 16 donors, of course they shall remain nameless because they do not have to disclose who they are, thanks the neocon Supreme Court that believes "Corporations are people, my friend.
You put words in my mouth when you stated, "Under Romney unemployment will drop to 0% and everyone will make a living wage and no one will need Food Stamps. Only someone who believes in fairy tales would insinuate such a thing." I never said or insinuated anything of the sort, I said Romney wanted to create jobs so people would not need them, BUT THAT "Romney is not for removing food stamps assistance or undermining unemployment", which insinuates he is for keeping these programs as is.
I agree that no liberal would agree that this is the Democrat goal, but the FACT more Americans are now having to use these programs under Obama and that you are telling people Romney wants to eliminate these programs when he has never said anything even close to that makes me wonder if what you say and what you do line up. Stop lying to people about Romney cutting programs he has never talked about cutting, and I will stop believing that you are using these programs to scare people into voting for your party.
LogicReguired
for a well educated man, Romney has alsways failed to use FEDERAL INCOME when refering to paying taxes. Does he fail to understand the difference or is he doing that on purpose? Both Mitt and Ann Romney have never said "we've paid federal income tax every year." Why is he avoiding saying that like a VD?
so you are admitting that Romney sterilized his tax rate so that he wouldn't look like he pays less than than most Middle Class families. Thanks for clarifying something we already knew.
Tell me, why was it ok for Romney to demand that Kennedy realeses his taxes saying that the public has the right to know? Why doesn't Romney play by his own rules?

More feedback for you.
Job losses in Jan, Feb, Mar, April 2009 were about 800,000, 750,000, 725,000, and 750,000 respectively.
Our economy shrunk at -8.5% in 4th quarter 2008. If this rate of decline had continued for a year, we would have lost an additional 7 million jobs above the 5 million we lost in 2009. Job losses generally lag behind growth numbers as business and consumers react to bad economic news that covers previous period of time.
Thus, to spread infrastructure spending over a 4 year period (while a good idea for long term growth), would in the short run not have halted the recession, but only slowed its rate of decline.
Most opponents of stimulus spending ignore the consequences of not doing stimulus spending. Hoover did some stimulus spending, but the effect of it was cancelled out by cuts in state and local spending. The net effect was no stimulus in the early years of the Great Depression. Unemployment rate of 25% resulted from essentially no stimulus spending by all of our governments. This was the last time we ever dealt with a recession by not doing major stimulus spending.
As I have more time, I will review other points of your plan. It is complicated, but important to do so.
They messed it up how? The housing bubble caused by The Community Reinvestment Act, written and passed by Democrats? Maybe it was the unregulated Freddie and Fannie that Democrats said were solid that Republicans tried to regulate that made the difference? Maybe it was the two years Democrats controlled the House and Senate before the downturn that made the difference. You silly liberals always say it was Republican policies but you can never explain how Tax cuts passed in 2003 caused a housing bubble burst in 2009. Another silly talking point that no one buys. You can you tube Barnie Franks and Maxine Waters and get hundreds of hits with them pushing the buttons that caused this crisis.

Herman Cain lost to Santorum and Romney. And Herman Cain lost because the more he spoke, the more he sounded incompetent. Don't blame it on the media, blame Herman Cain for losing the Tea Party support.
Logic,
See, if you possessed even the slightest bit of logic you would know why this came about. (Hint: It didn't occur because it is Obama's "goal".)
Mitt Romney don't have a clue what it takes to be president, he's is going to destroy everything Obama has worked hard to get and the middle class will suffer the most and why is it racist for black to vote black, when white vote white it's okay but why do you hate us for supporting our President and republican always using the race card when they are trying to win, but if we try to win using the race card its wrong, why is it so wrong to support Mr. Obama when you are supporting Mr. Romney are you really that hateful and mean, i feel sorry for those that are voting for Romney especially if you don't make over 250 thousand you're wasting your vote he doesn't care about you, just like he don't care about me we are the 47% he's talking about wether you're black, mexican, latino and white we are all in the same boat and when the boat sinks you're be there with me and color won't matter Romeny only support the rich in the end! Obama/Biden 2012!
This silly little tax return attack is old and tired and has not changed a single mind in the country, so you'll have to excuse me but I'm bored with it. We can do the release your tax returns, release your college records, release your college application game for days but it is all nonsense and not worth any more of my time. Bottom line is Romney BROKE NO LAWS, has paid taxes, and has also been very charitible with his money(much more then Obama or Biden). If you think you are going to change someones mind by saying a man who has given tens of millions of dollars to charities and broke no laws needs to release more tax return info - well good luck with that!

Ben 636050 I hope you are one of those making over 250,000 salary, if not you better join the rest of us Romney don't like you, I really liked Backhouse and Dave 537731 comments they are men with intelligent and knows right from wrong unlike you, everything you say is negative toward the president and you sound like a little child that can't have its way, go grow up and get a life you sound like a complainer! Obama/Biden 2012!
Well they weren't forced but they were pushed, and pressured.
Sounds good but you had politicians pushing them to do more..
Banks didn't care about making high risk loans because they had insurance and guarantees through Freddie and Fannie, government backed institutions, so they thought their risks were limited.
Regulations are like everything else in the world, some are good, some are stupid, and there is such thing as too much. I trust Romney more then Obama to make those calls.
Romney/Ryan 2012: No more name calling, silly one liners, days seeing a President on The Views couch, a national economic policy headed in the right direction, two parties working together, a leader that exhibits leadership traits, and finally a country that is "Proud to be an American," again.
"United" we must stand!
1.) There was more to my post.
2.) A politican that is quilty of hypocrisy!!!! I've never heard of such a thing! (Sarcasm Alert) LOL
3.) Like I said before, he has released some tax information for the last decade that showed taxes paid, no broken laws, What else do you want? Get over it all ready.
Logic -- Your arguments are always concentric, in nature. Here's the deal though. Republicans had control of ALL THREE branches for 4 and a half years. THEY DID NOTHING to stop the housing bubble. WALL STREET, predator LENDERS, BANKS etc. share much of the blame for that financial meltdown. That's the truth.
I noticed you didn't even MENTION any of those institutions. NOPE. Here's a thought I'll leave you with:
Just because alcohol is legal it doesn't give me a right to go out, drink and drive and possibly harm someone. Wall Street, banks, and lenders got GREEDY and HARMED our entire country. Sickening, isn't it?
@Tired in Ohio who wrote:
I admit I didn't watch the entire "news" piece, but I heard it would be sent to voters in Swing States - I'll most likely get one as I am a voter but my label is "unaffiliated or independent" not Rep. or Dem.
The only thing I want to mention is that Pres. Obama's mailing is something that people have to READ. He at least gives registered voters some credit that they will take some personal time and read his proposal.
The other day I received a DVD from DFMRF, LLC - its title "Dreams from My Real Father - A Story of Reds and Deception." Apparently you can buy it on Amazon - however, those of us in swing states, who are "unaffiliated or independent" voters all got a copy - 1.83 million in OHIO alone, the most mailed to any state...
The DVD jacket - claims that Frank Marshall Davis is Pres. Obama's "real father" and "a Communist Party USA propagandist who likely shaped Obama's world view during his formative years." [...] "Was the goat herding Kenyan father only a fairly tale to obscure a Marxist agenda, irreconcilable with American values?"
So - the Romney camp is mailing out millions of these DVD's just before the election - Romney is not mentioned anywhere on the mailing BUT it's obvious, not only because of who the targeted swing state voters who receive this are (the "undecided") but also it's the Romney mantra taken a step further from calling Pres. Obama a Socialist to now a Communist.... I haven't watched it but as I have a knee surgery planned, perhaps I will for fun....
MY point being - that Romney can't put his name on something (flip flop king) & Romney's camp apparently feels that Americans need to be herded through their television set.... they are too stupid to read...personally, I like to see things in print, it's easier to research the points asserted rather than keeping a notepad, pen and remote in stop and start mode to check facts when the 95 minute video is over.
If anyone has watched his video - do tell, I seriously doubt I'll have the patience too (I can't sit still for 95 minutes of BS - I could if I could argue with the TV and it could make sentient arguments back, but we all know that is fairy tale land).
LogicReguired
so where is it????? where does it state that banks HAVE to give their money UNWILLINGLY to those without sufficient income? I'm being redundant on purpose because you keep missing the point!
LogicReguired
which failed to answer why Romney doesn't live up to his own DEMANDS from others? Why doesn't Romney play by HIS OWN rules?
Romney is a textbook hypocrite. It doesn't get worse than Romney.
prove it. You know as much about Romney's tax returns as I do so YOU KNOW NOTHING. Stop stating something as a fact. Prove to me that Romney broke no laws. Or just prove to me that he didn't take advantage of the tax amnesty.
Do you know why I care about Romney's tax returns? He claims that rich are overtaxed and that is why he wants to cut taxes for them. He needs to prove it. With his own tax returns, he needs to show how overtaxed he really is. But Romney is so "overtaxed" that even YOU admit that he fix his rate to look like he pays more than he really does. HYPOCRITE.
Logic required
You pick one small part of cause of financial crisis. You ignore all those fraudulent mortgage application banks approved. You ignore all those fraudulent mortgage securities, hedge funds and banks created and sold to investors around the world. You ignore that 1/3rd of 2 million homes built in 2007 were sold to speculators and to others who already owned a home. You ignore the huge flows of excess investment money that flowed into our housing market. You ignore that our government regulators allowed people to purchase balloon mortgages that they could not afford. You ignore that the rich gave consumers loans rather than a higher wage. You ignore that the Fed continued with an economic expansion policy in order to prove that trickle down economics' tax cuts could actually produce enough revenue growth to offset the lost revenues of the tax cuts. You ignore that Bush ran up budget deficits even as our country was experiencing decent growth. You ignore that entrepeneurs sought to increase their profits by exporting jobs even though this weakened the consumer market for their goods in America. You ignore that banks made record profits in lending to Americans and speculating on mortgage securities, credit default swap, and other derivatives without properly assessing the risk. You ignore that allowing fuel mileage standards to lapse made our economy more vulnerable to gas price spikes on the world market.
You ignore so many causes of our near financial collapse.
@Alan NJ who answered this question:
Alan's response:
Your premise is 100% correct IF neither candidate reaches the 270 needed Electoral College votes to win the Presidency, but there are two possibilities depending on the type of "tie."
There is "wiggle room" if you will - if the candidates tie in the Electoral College on Election night at 269-269...it doesn't necessarily mean there is a tie. The Electoral College doesn't cast votes until the 2nd Wednesday in December. Some states say that their EC votes must go with popular winner, half the states have no such law. It is possible that a single Electoral can change their vote to the other party & therefore change the election (giving a candidate the required 270 win - no House or Senate involved).

logic is busy right now looking for his imaginary proof that poor banks were forced to give out mortgages by EVIL Democrats...
I love when righties blame the Dems for the financial crisis because of deregulation while bitching about President OBama for imposing regulations on banks so they don't continue down that path again. Hypocrisy in its purest form.
I just have two questions Mr. President. One, if your wife were the one in the compound in Libya during the attack, would you have still refused to send in military help when you were called in the Situation room and would you have still ordered the troops on the ground to stand down? And two, why don't you do something honorable for once in your life and step down as President? Our brave Americans serving their country deserve much better!
LogicRequired,
Unlike the Drudge Report & Breitbart.com, reading the Boston Globe requires one to have logic! Pun intended!
You see, the Drudge Report and Breitbart.com play to Republicans fears (often producing and providing false information on scandals etc.), and true enough, cynical people like you really believe in the garbage spin that's produced. There isn't one Republican leaning commentators, news contributor, donor, surrogate, or poster on this site that can talk about Obama without referring to his race, place of birth, academics, that he's a socialist, a communist, or one of those "Chicago Guys" etc. Republicans wonder why we bash and lash out at Romney in such an aggressive manner, because people like you can't stop lying, hating and deceiving the undecided voter about your candidate's agenda or party's referendum. That is why I left the Republican Party. That's why Colin Powel endorsed Obama. That is one reason, amongst many, that I'll vote Obama again in 2012.
@black kettle;
I did not think you were posting directly to me, but talking about all on the vine in general. My point was to show you not to generalize about others because you are wrong to do so.
So in the same breath you demonize others for name calling and being uneducated ,you insult the whole nation as not being able to pay attention? lol You also insult those that truly have ADHD.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.lol OH,wait a minute this would be the black kettle calling the pot black.lol face palm, shakes head.
Concerned America
A security team was sent to Benghazi form Tripoli. According to 9-12-12 Reuters report:
Sometimes, after $300 million in security cuts, you do not have the resources to do the job. His wife would not have gotten any more help than this 8 man team that was in the area.
Where do you get your information? Do you just make it up?
soundbite,
Right there with you. I already voted for Obama but I laughed when I heard he called Romney that. Anyone running against Romney would be driven to use that word if Romney displayed the same level of Alzheimer's and claimed that he did not have certain past positions, that he never said some things, that he was always this or that, or in some other way trying to worm out of his past commitments and statements.
Republicans are in for a rude awakening if mitt wins because the first day in office he is going to change his ind again, keep parts of Obamacare and raise taxes on everyone. Even Saint Regan raised taxes seven times are running on a campaign stating he would not raise them and Romney has no where near the street cred. that Regan had.
concernedamerica,
What you've just presented to the American people is a no win scenario for the President:
1. If Obama doesn't send troops in to Libya, people get killed and Obama is suddenly a failure as Commander in Chief.
2. If Obama sends troops in without notifying Congressional and receiving approval, he's in violation of the War Powers Act.
So, what the hell do you people want or expect...because all Republicans have been able to prove is that you are capable of moving the target...never reachable!
Coral, really? Way to take my words out of context to suit yourself. This is how you responded to my first post:Everything beyond that was you berating me - and my response is directly to you, not a general post.
First, the US is less than 300 years old.
Next you DID think I was talking to you when you said "I challenge you to find anything in my post I have said about Romney or Obama that is not true."
I started my post, completely unrelated to you, only noticing the bickering between posters...I addressed that with the first sentence and with that sentence also added that the bickering is as old as the US Presidential election (i.e. the use of "literally").
For some reason, you chose to write back to me that you always check your facts when posting....OK, that's great, but that has no bearing on my second sentence which - put simply - states that no one is perfect, no one can state that they have NEVER IN THEIR LIFE LIED (white lies included) OR CHANGED AN OPINION they held. Yes, I included persons from birth to the time of their death but you managed to twist that into something about YOU alone - you failed to realize that I included myself as someone who has lied at some point in my life and someone who has evolved and changed my opinion on a subject, by saying "that not one of us NV posters..." (that includes me).
Then you attack my post for it's length with this comment:
I am not in control over who reads or doesn't read what I post, if someone doesn't read it because it is long, that is their choice. Apparently its length made you lol. To each his own.
Then you decide to split a sentence of mine to make me look bad and then berate it:
I said:
First - I did not "demonize" opinions, but at least if I make a statement, I can give a link - wild accusations about candidates with no link showing that it could be true - that is uneducated writing. Yes, I do find name calling - no matter the side, unproductive. Name calling simply implies the lack of sentient conversation or opinion.
I insulted the entire nation? No, only those who can't think for themselves and need to be given glib sound bites, the opposite of European style news (they stay on the same story (whatever it may be) for 30 minutes - that gives a bit more insight into the topic at hand. I said I was writing for people who could handle more than a sentence - no one has to read what I say, they can just skip over it. Actually, I said the nation had ADHD - it's a generalization that has been made many times, not an insult (and again, I can be included in that generalization). For those who suffer from ADHD - they can stay focused when the subject interests them - some of our best scientists have ADHD, they are excellent at what they like - they are bored with the mundane, as am I.
I apologize to anyone reading this reply to Coral Taxi as it is completely "off-topic" - as was Coral's 1st & 2nd unprovoked attack of the day - and the strangest thing, I believe we will be voting for the same person, so there was no need for this vendetta about my "lol" long post.
Coral - just add me to your "ignored" poster list...then we won't be wasting other people's time with your attacks and my rebuttals.
@black kettlle
Show me where I berated you, I berate noone.
You were genralizing about people on this vine, which would include me. You just got caught doing the same thing you were blaming others for, just accept it,this is why I called you out. You did not have to go these lengths sir,lol did you not notice the LOL after my statements, this would mean I am not that serious about it.
I put noone on ignore. I respect all opinions unlike you sir.
@ black kettle;
Jamsetown,1607, I never said how old the U.S was, but if you wish to get technical it is over 400 yrs old,my point was that political debates and spirited arguments over politics have been giong on for hundreds of year on this continent, is that better sir.lolYOu need to take a chill pill will.
Arguing politics sir not the U.S, you see even in Jamestown they were hashing it out against the motherland sir.
We are on the same side, I did not "attack" you sir. Just called you out on your hypocrisy, and I even made a joke at the end. This vine is about dead we are not bothering anyone.
@Double Jeopardy - you are correct in your response to concernedamerican - it IS a "no win scenario" for the President.
There are many news reports about the attack on the Consulate of Libya which resulted in the deaths of four Americans.
@concernedamerican - the death of anyone at the Libyan Consulate was/is tragic, however, it was not the fault of the "Commander in Chief."
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2220153/Christopher-Stevens-Ambassador-pleaded-extra-security-Libya-hours-killed.html
I hear your anger concernedamerican but I believe that Double Jeopardy (and myself) is also angry at the deaths that occurred - but blame must be placed in the correct place. The President (no matter who) cannot micro manage EVERYTHING - guarding the U.S. Consulates and Embassies is the job of the State Department. Hillary Clinton is in charge of the State Department as she is the U.S. Secretary of State. She has admitted that there should have been more security at the Libyan Consulate: http://www.npr.org/2012/10/16/162986917/clinton-im-responsible-for-consulate-security
Of course, she does have to take responsibility but it is not her responsibility alone: The State Department works with the Pentagon. It's true that Ambassador Stevens asked for more security - something the Pentagon denied the State Department - yet the Pentagon also says the State Department must make security requests - either way, the consulate in Libya was not well guarded.
This is interesting:
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2012/10/marine-corps-state-department-assess-embassy-guards-benghazi-libya-102412/
The Pentagon and the State Department let down the consulate in Libya .... if people need to be fired, they need to be in those places, it is their job to keep overseas Americans protected.

Bill, Fairfax
That was my point, Bill. You didn't provide all of the facts about the CBO report, resulting in your conclusions as presented being a distortion of the complete story because it's misleading.
What you said about the tax rates of the rich depends on how you define 'rich' - which according to your interpretation of the CBO report means everyone making over $88k. Nobody defines the 'rich' as such. Nobody.
That's ridiculous at best, and disingenuous at least.
Here are a few things to remember when you vote this week.
16 TRILLION in debt, and going up.
Government spending $1.40 for every $1. that comes in via taxes (Credit card from the bank of china)
More people on food stamps, welfare and gov assistance than EVER BEFORE
the most people out of work for the longest sustained period of time since the depression (What’s that three letter word? J O B S )
4 Americans murdered in Libya, and obama knew what was going on and then lied about it.
Boarder patrol agent murdered with gun from failed obama/holder op, fast and furious
535 Million tax payer dollars to Solyandra
Tax payers money to ABC Battery
This is NOT what recovery looks like
To the GOP congressional obstructionists, spinners, and naysayers: Economists predict a robust economic comeback for America.
Thank you for this post. I agree that President Obama has done a great job managing the crisis in our economy when he first took office. Our country is on the right road to recovery at this point as a result of the way he has steered the country. If he had any cooperation at all from the GOP the recovery would have been even quicker and stronger. I hope everyone here reads your post and votes to reelect President Obama for a second term.
Backhouse + Dave = Two stupids don't make a right.
Backhouse, well said. Dave, too.
Colin Powell, a republican, agrees; President Obama has done a great job managing a near depression and getting the economy moving FORWARD again; agrees with President Obama on foreign policy, etc.

Backhouse + Dave = Two stupids don't make a right.
Benny, there is an old African proverb that says... "A roaring lion catches no game".
Sssshhhhhhhh, everyone knows you are not wise. Furthermore, after Nov 7th when President Obama gives his Inaugural Address, you can throw all your mathematical calculations out the window.

Obama/Biden 2012
But Ben is upset that the Pres called Romney a Bser? But he's OK that Romney's son said he'd love to reach out and punch the President because he called out his dad at a Debate?
Really Ben? You are delusional as usual. Your OK, with threatening violence against your President by your candidate's son no less and your OK that your candidate cant remember from one day to the next as to what he'll support or what he will say to try and get elected.
Ben,
Must you be such a troll?
I would like to tell Romney's son. Talk is cheep. Things are not the same when your dad was a bully and had his gang to pick on someone when there is 5 of you and one of him. If Mitt was in my school when I was there I would have singled him out when he didn't have his gang, and I would have kicked his rich ass all around the school. I would do the same with his gang. You see people like him can't fight one on one. Mitt has to have his buddy's hold the one guys hands so he can't fight back. I can tell you one thing, I would have never stood my and watched that kind of thing happen. I might get my butt kicked but I would have jumped right in the middle of that.
Gingerbread Mamma
I'll bet Ben was even more upset when G. W. Bush's VP, Dick Cheney told a US Senator to "go f*** yourself" on the floor of the US Senate, where decorum and refraining from foul language are considered obligatory signs of respect for the institutions of government and for the United States of America.
Thanks Barack, for!
Allowing our Consulate, in Benghazi Libya. To be attacked by Islamic radicals on 9/11. The attack lasted 7 hours, our Ambassador was murdered, three other Americans were murdered. And you did nothing. But lie to the American people!
In the same group, by contrast, just 17 percent say their impression of Obama improved - and 26 percent say it got worse."
http://news.yahoo.com/romney-hits-50-percent-mark-clear-edge-economy-210032956--abc-news-politics.html
Obama's debate performances repulsed over %50 more people than they impressed!.... and liberals still think he won the last one.
Jody, Iowa
Romney agrees with President Obama on all foreign policy issues too.
He has agreed with him wholeheartedly for the past 4 days, never mind the 2 years prior to that.
bigdogg,
That is one very Big reason why Romney is dangerous for America.
And the world.
Romney Ryan Bush Cheney plan, yes that's right BUSH CHENEY plan, kill Social security, Medicare, Medicaid, Post officeThe plan to pay for taxbreaks to the rich 1% are cut foodstamps to starving children and families, and cut benefits to veterans.
Romney Ryan Bush Cheney plan, ship more American jobs overseas in order to profit from being able to put profits in offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes in America.
ROMNEY/RYAN UNAMERICAN AS CAN BE.
November 6, 2012 late night as results are in, Obama loses both popular and electoral votes.
Obots Fiesty and lackeys committed to mental hospital for severe depression, excessive crying and lots of hair pulling. They shamefully retire from Newsvine until the next Presidential election..........................
You crazy liberals just don't get it. The first debate was a knock out blow for Obama. An absolute TKO. The American public does not allow for make-up tests for the leader of the free world. When Obama got his ass handed to him that was it. Game over.
Nov 6th will be a landslide. The polling numbers are proving it.
Americans don't like a bullsh!+er and when Obama tells these women he is on their side as they spend 100 bucks to fill up their tank, pay double for food and 30% more for healthcare and co-pays... They just know whatever Obama says is total BS.
Drill Baby -
Please provide a link to any swing state polling that shows a logical path to 270 electoral votes for Mitt Romney.
Alan: thanks for you post.
I stand by what I said. The trail of "what ifs" that would cause the scenario of a Romney/Biden team are between slim and none.
Ohio Polls

President Obama 60%

That's right you racist President Obama
The More you say the N-Word the more black vote, due to the fact we were slaves at one point and we can see the films and read history
I have watched the debates. I have researched both sides. I was disappointed that Romney was unable to win my vote. As a life long Republican I will be voting for the other guy. Voted for the Bush clan every time (I have always voted Republican president). The country is better off than it was 4 years ago and getting better all the time. In my opinion Obama has earned his re-election, when I voted for "W"s second term it was so he could clean up his mess of lies and injustices. It is very sad that Americans really only have a choice between bad (Obama) and just plain stupid (Romney). When we get rid of this out dated two party system only then will Americans really have a choice. When politics quit being profitable, real leaders and America's future will appear.
You people that think the stimulus helped the recession are wrong, all it did is prolong the depression. If Obama is allowed 4 more years, you will see our country fallen from within. First of all he has taken it on himself to change our constitution, allow the government to begin to take over our lives, and made us vulnerable to our enemies. If he stays in the government will totally control us and there will be an open door for the middle east to overtake us. You are going to see our currency devalued, gas and food are going to be so high you wont be able to afford them. We are headed for a full scale depression if he stays in. He is going to raise taxes, cut medicare, and break down America. When this happens I hope all you Obama puppets are hit with the knowledge that you were told and decided to have blinders on.
Do you know what's ironic?
Romney, Ryan and their TeaBagNutSac's are all calling President Obama a "Socialist" and scaring all the Repub's into thinking he want's the government to "take away their rights" while at the same time Romney, Ryan and their TeaBagNutSac's are all pushing for the very same government to take away "All women's rights" to their own bodies and measures for planned parenthood. Now what's wrong with that picture?
And just who is the "Socialist"?
Where do you get that they want to take away womens rights?
@menofmenoseeno -
It's called an absentee ballot -
The President has a personal residence in Illinois that he owns (same would apply if he rented it)....the White House is not "owned" by the President.
The White House is owned by the United States Government, so by the American people. There is not mortgage on the White House, it is tax free, all expenses are paid for by the budget of the executive branch each year.
Black Kettle & Sand Creek...lest we forget - Thank you.
Risk1 - I hope you're not spewing the same lie over and over in hopes of it one day becoming reality. Here's a helpful hint: if you follow the rainbow to the other side...you won't find a pot of gold. If you're doing it to sway the undecided voter...you're barking up the wrong tree - all you're really doing is solidifying the hate that's consumed the entire Retarded Party...ooops I meant Republican.
To Conservative Republicans - I really can't wait to see the exit poles...I'm very currious to see how many moderate Republicans will abandon the Republican Party on November 6th. Now for the kick in the balls...Republicans will lose control of the House and Senate...again. How's them apples?
Let's not forget that those Romney controlled voting machines are in Colorado as well as Ohio.

One way to understand what a presidential candidate might do if elected is to look at his advisers. Here are nine advisers who are shaping Mitt Romney's views—and could end up shaping his presidency. You may not have heard of them, but you should know about them.
Cofer Black
Position: Foreign Policy Adviser
His Qualifications: Black was head of the CIA's Counterterrorism Center when Al Qaeda brought down the towers and is a former executive for the "private security" company Blackwater.
What You Need to Know: Black has long been associated with the Bush administration’s "dark side," including torture and extraordinary rendition.
Walid Phares
Position: Foreign Policy Adviser
His Qualifications: Phares has worked as a professor, counterterrorism adviser, author, and pundit for Fox News.
What You Need to Know: As Mother Jones first reported last year, Phares "was a high ranking political official in a sectarian religious militia responsible for massacres during Lebanon's brutal, 15-year civil war."
Robert Bork
Position: Judicial Adviser
His Qualifications: Bork was a failed Supreme Court nominee under President Ronald Reagan and played a controversial role in the Watergate scandal.
What You Need to Know: Bork, then solicitor general, agreed to fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox, who was close to cracking open Watergate. (Bork's colleagues, Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus, had refused to fire Cox and resigned on principle.)
Kris Kobach
Position: Immigration Adviser
His Qualifications: Kobach is the secretary of state for Kansas.
What You Need to Know: Kobach is the intellectual architect behind harsh Arizona-style immigration laws all over the country. Kobach has flirted with birtherism and even sought to abolish birthright citizenship. But illegal immigration isn't Kobach's only hobby horse: At the GOP convention, he dipped his toe into Shariah panic by urging the adoption of an anti-Shariah plank to the GOP platform.
Paul Ryan
Position: Domestic Policy Adviser/Vice Presidential Candidate
His Qualifications: Ryan is a Republican congressman from Wisconsin and the chairman of the House Budget Committee.
What You Need to Know: Technically he's the veep pick, but in choosing Ryan, Romney tied himself to Ryan's policy agenda. In the past, that agenda has included turning Medicare into a voucher system so that seniors have to pay more for their health care, slashing Medicaid so that states have less money to cover medical services for the poor, old, and disabled, and all while cutting taxes on the wealthy. Where does Ryan's plan make up that extra revenue? In part by raising taxes on the poor. There's no one on Romney's team who embodies the "half the country are moochers" mindset expressed by Romney on that 47 percent video more than Ryan does.
John Bolton
Position: Foreign Policy Adviser
His Qualifications: Bolton is a lawyer and diplomat who served under George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush.
What You Need to Know: It's never a bad day to bomb Iran if you're John Bolton, the walrus-mustachioed Bush-era ambassador to the United Nations. Bolton has been pushing for an Iran strike for years, he recently said he thought the Israelis should have bombed Iran "three and a half years ago." A favorite of anti-Muslim activists like Pamela Geller, Bolton likes a good conspiracy theory himself, recently warning that a UN small arms treaty could take Americans' guns away.
Tommy Franks
Position: Military Adviser
His Qualifications: Franks, a retired commander of the US Central Command, led the 2003 invasion of Iraq…and came in at No. 4 on Foreign Policy's "worst general in American history" list.
What You Need to Know: It's hard to know where to start with Franks: He didn't tell the American public he was planning on invading Iraq and then he helped spread the big fat lie that there were actually weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Once the war was over, he had no plan to deal with the aftermath. Oh, and he lost Osama bin Laden.
Harold Hamm
Position: Energy Adviser
His Qualifications: He's a self-made American oilman worth $9.7 billion, as of September 2012.
What You Need to Know: Hamm would end federal control of drilling on government land, a policy Theodore Roosevelt ushered in to help protect wildlife and America's most beautiful places. Instead, states would have the authority to frack and mine government lands. The New York Times calls this "a radical shift from decades of policies under both Democrat and Republican presidents." According to Rolling Stone, Hamm has also given nearly $1 million to Romney's super-PAC.
Kevin Hassett
His Position: Economic Adviser
His Qualifications: Hassett was a senior economist for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
What You Need To Know: Hassett is your typical right-wing economist: He favors stimulus when Republican presidents are in office and austerity when Democrats are in office, and in that sense he's kind of a perfect adviser for Mitt Romney, who is known for changing his mind on big issues when it's convenient. Hassett is most infamous, though, for writing (with James K. Glassman) the 1999 book Dow 36,000, in which he predicted an ever-rising stock market. "Stocks are now in the midst of a one-time-only rise to much higher ground," Hassett and Glassman wrote, which is true if you ignore subsequent downturns including the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. With a track record like that, how can Hassett's assertion that Romney's jobs plan will create "millions of jobs" possibly be wrong?

A man is known by the company he keeps: Aesop
The Ass and His Purchaser
A man wished to purchase an Ass and decided to give the animal a test before buying him. He took the Ass home and put him in the field with his other Asses.
The new Ass strayed from the others to join the one that was the laziest and the biggest eater of them all.
Seeing this, the man led him back to his owner. When the owner asked how he could have tested the Ass in such a short time, the man answered, "I didn't even need to see how he worked. I knew he would be just like the one he chose to be his friend."
Yesterday, when Gen. Powell endorsed President Obama for a second term, he had some sobering observations and comments on his fellow Republican. A man of many experiences, General Powell, knows the horrors of wars and their aftermaths, he also knows the diplomatic world and how the interaction of our interests and other nations affects our overall well being as a nation. Voters should heed his observations and reasons for endorsing President Obama.
Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama for president
(CBS News) Former Secretary of State Colin Powell broke with the Republican party during the 2008 election, to endorse then-candidate Barack Obama for president, calling Obama a "transformational figure."
With 12 days to go before the presidential election, Powell publicly endorsed President Obama for re-election on "CBS This Morning" Thursday
"I voted for him in 2008 and I plan to stick with him in 2012 and I'll be voting for he and for Vice President Joe Biden next month."
Powell explained his choice to Charlie Rose and Norah O'Donnell:
When he took over, the country was in very very difficult straits. We were in the one of the worst recessions we had seen in recent times, close to a depression. The fiscal system was collapsing. Wall Street was in chaos, we had 800,000 jobs lost in that first month of the Obama administration and unemployment peaked a few months later at 10 percent. So we were in real trouble. The auto industry was collapsing, the housing was start[ing] to collapse and we were in very difficult straits. And I saw over the next several years, stabilization come back in the financial community, housing is now starting to pick up after four years, it's starting to pick up. Consumer confidence is rising."
Summarizing the past four years under Obama, Powell said "Generally we've come out of the dive and we're starting to gain altitude." He acknowledged that problems remain, saying "The unemployment rate is too high, people are still hurting in housing but I see that we're starting to rise up."
Turning to foreign policy, Powell said he saw "the president get us of one war, start to get us out of a second war and did not get us into any new wars. And finally I think that the actions he has taken with respect to protecting us from terrorism have been very very solid. And so, I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on."
Powell expressed his concern about Republican candidate Mitt Romney's changing positions on international affairs. "The governor who was saying things at the debate on Monday night ... was saying things that were quite different from what he said earlier. I'm not quite sure which Gov. Romney we would be getting with respect to foreign policy."
"One day he has a certain strong view about staying in Afghanistan but then on Monday night he agrees with the withdrawal, same thing in Iraq. On almost every issue that was discussed on Monday night, Governor Romney agreed with the President with some nuances. But this is quite a different set of foreign policy views than he had earlier in the campaign. And my concern ... is that sometimes I don't sense that he has thought through these issues as thoroughly as he should have."
Powell also said that he has given close consideration to Romney's domestic policies. "As I listen to what his proposals are especially with respect to dealing with respect to our most significant issue, the economy, it's essentially let's cut taxes and compensate for that with other things but that compensation does not cover all of the cuts intended or the new expenses associated with defense."
Powell said that he did not give either candidate early notice of his endorsement, but that he has "the utmost respect for" and spoke to Gov. Romney several weeks ago, and speaks to President Obama regularly.
He added that with this endorsement, he "signed on for a long patrol with President Obama" and that he feels more comfortable with Obama's stances on climate change, immigration, and education.
Powell also criticized congressional leaders for not living up to their responsibilities, mainly around resolving the approaching fiscal cliff.
"The major problem faced either by Gov. Romney or President Obama, whoever wins the election, is going to be what to do about the fiscal cliff we're about to fly over," Powell said.
"This is something that was put in place by Congress and while we're talking about the two candidates for president let's not forget that Congress bears a lot of responsibility for many of the problems that we have now. They're the ones that write the appropriations bills. They're the ones that pass the legislation for more spending and for the various entitlement programs that people have trouble with."
Gen. Powell last joined "CBS This Morning" in June, and at the time remained noncommittal about his support for either candidate in the race for the White House. "Whatever judgement I have right now would be incomplete. I haven't seen everything that Mitt Romney is going to do. I haven't seen how our economy is going to play out," he said in June.
And, despite his endorsement of a Democratic candidate in two presidential elections, Powell says he remains a Republican. "I think I'm a Republican of a more moderate mold," he said before adding, "That's something of a dying breed I'm sorry to say."
We've been down this road before with disastrous consequences. George Bush outsourced Presidential decisions to Dick Cheney and the neocons and look where that got us. He wanted to be the President but didn't have any ideas, intellectual curiosity or interest in actually running things. Romney would be worse because he doesn't care about anyone other than the 1%. So the same thinking will stand no chance of being tempered with compassion.
You judge a man by the company he keeps.....

IR, excellent summary of what Mitt Romney represents for America; perfect added IR pearls of wisdom.
Romney must be judged by the company he keeps because they are who he is and will be.
GBM, thanks for repeating what Colin Powell said; he speaks the truth to those willing to hear.
The sad part is that in response to Gen. Powell's reasoned and thoughtful analysis of why he was supporting Pres. Obama over Mitt Romney, what did we get from the Romney camp?
Romney's main surrogate John Sununu claiming Gen. Powell was supporting Pres. Obama only because they were both black.
WOW. Just WOW.
Romney, when he was running for the Senate, sent gays letters telling them how he would fight for their rights to marry, etc. Remember Mitt's remarks that he would be more liberal than Ted Kennedy. Afterward, when asked about the letters, Romney indicated he said what he did because of who they were. I don't recall the exact quote but what Romney responded was that he simply spoke what the group wanted to hear. THAT should tell every voter all they need to know about Mitt Romney. It is something we have observed since he first started running for president in 2007; he panders to the audience saying only what that audience wants to hear with no intention of sticking by that position. Romney is a liar, incapable of honesty and not to be trusted.
I posted that piece on Gen. Powell's endorsement before I learned what John Sununu had to say. (I've a storm going on here, mother nature is having an event).
Regarding Sununu, he's the epitome of the angry white male that Lindsey Graham said the Republican Party needed more of, and judging from some of the posters here, that is all that party is filled with. I'm sure Gen. Powell is smiling to himself, when the pompous windbag let's his true colors known. The powers that be within the GOP are only willing to share power and promote anyone whose black, so long as they stay in line with the Party. They are nothing but hypocrites and bullies who rule through intimidation and veiled or implied threats also have any values other than their own self absorbed agendas.
Thank goodness for upstanding people like Gen. Powell who will have their principles twisted for party gain or favor.
Thanks for posting this @Independent Redneck. Lots of good posts today, I'm very encouraged!
The more I learn about some of these "behind the scenes" guys (old, white), the more anxious I feel about those who's agenda is completely different then mine.
These clowns think nothing of putting us in harms way by either using our troops like little plastic army men/battleship game, or trashing our fragile environment. All because of greed!
We worked hard to hang on to Roe vs Wade these last 40 years, as well as trying to level the playing field for women in the workplace. There's more to do, of course, but reversing any of the progress that we've made DOES trickle down, and women and families will suffer badly.
I'm preparing to evacuate within 24-48 hours as Sandy's coming to Delaware and I live on the Delaware Bay. During this time I'm in contact with friends far and wide. I pledged to myself this morning that I will FIRE UP every female I know to get them out to vote. They will bring others, and so on. Fortunately, I slept like a baby after reading the 538 blog last night and noted Obama's projected 294 electoral votes.

United as the Coast Guard says it's "Time to take all necessary steps to protect life and property" Above all else I hope that all my friends and neighbors keep themselves safe and dry so we can get together again next week. Thanks for the shout and know that I've got your back on preserving all the gains that the Ladies have made over the last forty years 'cause as far as I can see you'll deserve them.
Patronizing racism from Sununu----are they so desperate for the win they see slipping away that they've given up their dog whistles?
In America you can go to jail for hurting, an animal, rightly so! But a mother can have her baby riped from her womb, and, it's called a choice
the left's fascination with tax returns has been obsessive for months. he is not going to do what you want him, time to move on.
on a related note, the president rejects donald trump's -- and yes i know this was a typical trump stunt -- offer to send $5,000,000 to the charity of the President's choice if he would share hidden information. but $5M is $5M and would have helped many that obama constantly tells us he cares about. and this was an opportunity to use someone else's money as he is so fond of doing and yet...
pretty sad that many suffering folks will not receive this great donation because the president is selfish.
United We Stand, and others in the path of the storm--stay safe! Don't take any chances; that old saying is wisdom--better safe than sorry.
billybob, the right-wingers's obsession with President Obama's birth certificate and college transcripts has been going on for more than FOUR years. Never mind his Hawaii birth has been certified over and over and over. Odd, how conservatives demand college transcripts from one candidate while giving their own candidate a pass on tax returns when said GOP candidate's own father, George, set a precedent for transparency because as he said, one or two years of returns could be a fluke. It's beyond me why republicans aren't demanding to know exactly what Mitt Romney is hiding--because he is hiding something, yet conservatives think that's just a-okay.
billybob - pretty sad you're willing to give an obvious cheat - Mitt Romney - a pass on releasing what every other Presidential candidate in our lifetime has but you are trying to force the President to release what no other Presidential candidate has EVER done. Can you say HYPOCRITE?????

Hilarious comments:
Barbara Walters to Donald Trump
Stop making a fool out of yourself!
President Obama on the Jay Leno show:
When asked by Jay Leno what's up with you and Donald Trump, it's like me and David Letterman.
President Obama answered:
It all goes back to our days while growing up together in Kenya.

In America you can rant and rave about the supposed rights of a zygote or embryo but they better be born with some wealth or they quickly become "entitlement seekers" or worse, hand out babies... what a choice! Why don't you go out and commit the proper definition of "rape" today while it's all the rage with your tea-baggin' party?
aww... give the publicity whore Trump a break! After all, he just wants to see what a college application/transcript looks like if it hasn't been bought and paid for by a rich father. And besides, he knows if he has to pay off his offer of "5 or more million dollars" he can just use his government entitlements and file for bankruptcy again... for the 3rd or 4th time. No problem.
Sununu is not a angry white male he is Haitian
It is Still the ECONOMY, Stupid!!! NOW we can add the murder of Americans in BENGHAZI!!!!!
--Sources on the ground in Benghazi during the attack on the US consulate tell Fox News that CIA operatives twice asked for permission to help Ambassador Chris Stevens and his staff, and twice were told to 'stand down' -- while a later request for military backup was denied.---
No wonder obama is trying to blame it on a video!! These are impeachable actions!!
ON THE ECONOMY: Are you willing to learn the facts, and not FAUX?
Look at the third post today.
The International Monetary Fund is predicting that America will be the STRONGEST ECONOMY among ALL the richest WORLD ECONOMIES.
Due to the "dynamism of the U.S. economy but also because of the timely and intelligent actions of the Fed and the Obama administration." (Fareed Zakaria)
Risk, you have misrepresented and misstated the point. What we're fighting for is the right of the mother to make her own choice. What do you call it if someone else makes that choice for you over your objections, Risk?
When you murder someone others make the choice for you. You dont get to say its alright. Having an abortion is murder.
Seeing as I am to be relegated to downtime, i.e. no shovel work, shortly my fanciful remaining synapses have been sputtering to a slow ignition over the possibility of further academic pursuit. Having already drunk my way through the various institutions within a stagger home radius the idea of looking further afield has taken root over much demented discourse of late concerning an Electoral College. Setting research into motion, the where is it and all that stuff … I mean it is not like Harvard where all one needs is the right ties, and by that I do not mean dress code.
I was shocked to learn that this College is and has always been an online institution; has no campus grounds surrounded by quaint pubs; a staff whose abilities need not surpass simple counting and envelope licking and a woeful sports program that seems to incur much getting on and off of buses.
Tuition fees are insane at a billion bucks considering the low graduation rate although I have been led to believe that one can stagger the course load over a number of years as in the case of Romney.
There are but three degrees possible to achieve, those of President, Vice President … and … Loser.
The course structure though heavy is sparse. Courses offered are Stand Up Mendacity, Tautology, Sweaty Palm Avoidance and the latest techniques in Bull@!$%#ting, which alas seems to require a shovel. CRAP!
LOL!...I would like to apply for a part time position, as I am fully qualified in
STAND-UP (mendacity I can work on)
And the one thing this "college" truly lacks and need more than anything well maybe an enema?) is a string of quaint pubs to stagger from punch-drunk form waste of almost 2 BILLION dollars...
BCWC, thanks for the laugh this cold but sunny Friday morning.
Jody, you are welcome. We are having an unseasonably warm day up here and my neighbor is threatening to open his tiki bar this evening ... :-)
Obama's failures, to date!
An anemic GDP, of 2%, this quarter.
2.3%, fewer Americans working today then when Obama took office.
Manufacturing down by 1.2%, this year.
Mediam Household income down, 8.4%, since, 2009.
19.9%, of all female vet's returing from war, cannot find a job.
Fewer women working today, then when Obama became President.
23 million Americans unemployed, or under employed. Waiting for all those shoval ready jobs, Obama promised.
1 in 6 Americans live in poverty, in America.
The US deficit now stands at 103%, of our GDP. Unprecedented in American history.
Obama creats 4 billion dollars in new debt, every single day.
US debt under Obama, 5.6 trillion dollars and rising fast.
No budget from Obama or fellow Democrats in four years. Violating US law.
Obama created backdoor amnesty for illegal aliens. Violating US Immigration law.
A gallon of gas has doubled, since O and Joe, took office. Mom's cannot bring their kids to soccer practice.
Obama has a jobs plan, same as the old plan. Four years to late.
Obama continues to lie about Libya!
Risk1 - the failures of the Republican Congress have been legendary and have contributed to our President not being able to accomplish as much for the country as he would have liked. Your post - of course - doesn't address that. You choose to put a good President because of the obstruction of the Republicans in Congress. the post about Libya is a damned lie and you know it!

Hey pal, this was a Friday comedy post ... lighten up will ya!
Risk, since you have so much energy and so many talking points, why not tell us what Romney WOULD do?
Why is Romney hiding Ryan? Why is Romney himself hiding from the press? Paul Ryan is not to be seen anywhere near battleground state microphones the last couple of days. Seems Mitt wants to hide him as much as he wants to hide his taxes and his actual policies. Ryan's been relegated to those safe red states which think just like Ryan thinks. Mourdock's latest revelation of the GOPTP's anti-women's views lines exactly with Paul Ryan. There is no difference between Mourdock's belief that a woman's pregnancy resulting from rape is "what God intended" and Todd Aiken's "legitimate rape" and Paul Ryan's "forcible rape" as well as Ryan's belief that "the method of conception" doesn't matter--women must be forced BY THE GOVERNMENT to give birth regardless. For those who think Mitt is now really a moderate, think again. He will be a rubber stamp of the GOPTP because he must be. There is NO Moderate Mitt. The truth is, there never was a Moderate Mitt. The only time Moderate Mitt appeared was when he was running in liberal-leaning states.
Media & Poll Madness. This election was always going to be close for obvious reasons. But the media feeding frenzy and near hyperventilation over the vast array of polls is overwhelming. For several weeks, I have felt the media's goal is to keep this race close; others have made that comment on FR. The media grabs on to a poll showing Romney ahead when others show President Obama ahead or vice versa. The local newspaper editor wrote a nice column yesterday. His last paragraph sums up what a lot of people feel right about now, myself included. "The always on, 24-hour news media wants close elections and stirs up the pot to keep things close. I don't know how to prove this, but cable news needs viewers and needs talking points and the best way to keep people coming back is to manipulate the news to keep the election close. I'll be glad when this election is over. I hope, whatever the results, that it compels people to ask for changes in the process. But I'm guessing that we'll be starting the race for 2016 in early January or Nov 7." Cheers to the local news editor who, without proof, state what most of us think except, it isn't just cable media, the mainstream media is doing the same thing.
Ignore the polls, ignore the media hype, tune them out and VOTE instead. Polls mean nothing without the votes cast.

He will be released post Halloween as there are far too many Draculas running about as it is over the next several days.
Jody, great points.
Paul Ryan is on the same page as Mourdoch and Akin, on Women's Reproductive Rights.
The Romney campaign shipped Ryan off to Syberia (Alabama), where he won't be asked too many questions.
Ryan co-sponsored 33 anti-abortion bills with Todd Akin. Forcing women to have the babies of their rapists, is what these guys are about.
Ryan said "The method of conception doesn't change the definition of life".
Jody, thankx for the blurb on the media and this election. I know it's what everybody is talking about.
And when this campaign is over, I hope someone reputable writes a books specifically honed in on the media's role in this election. Was it unfair? Did they purposely stir the pot? Is it only about getting viewers?
Lots of people are saying with the new ownership, things have gone down dramatically at NBC/MSNBC. We all had a feeling it was going to happen.
I love the ads on MSNBC by the hosts. They are quite inspiring.
But something is definitely amiss here in this election with a lot of the media. And the polls as well. People are now wondering if they're just a scam.
The media seems to spend all its time going on each other's TV and radio shows, talking about the same stuff. When do they get out and do actual reporting?
I think the Romney campaign is trying to spin that they are ahead to discourage turnout from Obama supporters. They better watch out----their own supporters (who we know aren't in love with Mitt) might think their vote isn't needed. I didn't think I could be more motivated to vote for President Obama but I am.
Ben: Thank you for reminding people of your misogyny and racism. This is exactly why people reject what you have to say, and will vote for your President.
Paul Ryan is campaigning in NJ which means NJ could actually go R for the first time since Carter. Also was in NY and I think he will be in New Hampshire this weekend too.
But speaking of hiding Paul Ryan, hmmm. Where is Joe "The Brain Trust of the Democrat Party" Biden been the last week or so?
"Crickets"
Uh-huh just like I thought.
Ben-
Thank god this poster is too ignorate to attract a lady.
We are all better off that he won't be able to reproduce.

Jody,
I saw that pattern a long time ago. It reminded me of Sharon Palin and Sharon Angle. It's so hilarious to me. Not speaking to the media unless it the hacks @ FOX NOISE only makes their antics more noticiable

halo: I realize that it is too much to expect for you to keep up with current events, but your Vice President was most recently in South Dakota representing the nation beautifully at the funeral of Senator George McGovern.

Benny, you need to stop pulling stuff out of your rectum.
Ah, NDD, give ole Benny Boy a break. Those ears in his avatar aren't natural, they are formed that way from years of his pie-hole being used by his brother Billie-Bob as a mouth piece.
Paul Ryan was quoted as basically saying Rape was a form of conception.
Todd Akin claims a woman cannot get pregnant from "legitimate rape".
Ryan & Akin proposed a law outlawing abortions except for "forcible rape".
Richard Mourdock claims a pregnancy resulted from Rape is "God's will" and a "gift from God".
At least 12 Republican candidates for Senator agree that if a Woman is impregnated by her Rapist should should be forced to carry the baby to term.
I am a Man, but I fail to see how any Woman would be comfortable with voting for any of these idiots and willingly give up the right to make her own decisions about her body.
Exactly, RedDev.
Lord! Ben, the closer we get to re-electing our President, the more desperate you sound................slow down on the Kool Aid, you're beginning to sound like John Sununu and that's not a good thing.
Why was Bennie's post deleted? Those of you who voted to do that ought to recall that others need to see the thought process behind the hatred of women and this President from the right wing.
Don't delete posts.
Pat, agree about the book. I haven't noticed any change in MSNBC's afternoon and evening line-up hosts coverage; they still lean left and their shows remain fact-based. I enjoy Martin Bashir when time permits. I rarely watch Morning Joe, not because he is a conservative but because his incessant whining and interruptions annoy me to no end.
Tomas Grande, good one.
If only we could delete Sununu. Of course, as you say, we do need him, as a premiere spokesman for the GOPTP Party, to remind us of how ugly the party is - the party that supports gang-rape, bigotry, and racism.
I think it is the best advertising the President can get, RedDev.
tnsevol--the whole problem is that these angry white men are really not believers in the sanctity of life--they are believers in control. Women control reproduction biologically and this pi$$es them off, so they try to control reproduction by any means possible--in this case legislatively. This way they also get to control women as well. If they truly believed in the sanctity of life--they would not be pushing death by wars, neglect, capital punishment, destruction of the environment, or any other of their creative ways to create death and destruction. If life is sacred, then all life is sacred--not just the unborn. We should respect all life!
"We have met the enemy and he is us!" Pogo by Walt Kelly
Christian men hate abortions?
They are the first to offer $$ for an abortion if they find themselves with an accidental pregnancy on their hands. Particularly if they are already married, which happens quite often.
___________
Jody, no problem with me with the evening MSNBC hosts. Nor with afternoon host Martin Bashir. He should be in prime time. He's that good.
My MSNBC favorite is the intelligent, lovely, talented and passionate Rachel Maddow.
Jody,
"The only time Moderate Mitt appeared was when he was running in liberal-leaning states."
There's something about that, that makes this one want to barf.
Mitt the Twit was speaking at Ames, Ia at noon today. They never once panned the crowd and when he spoke there were only a few people clapping other than the that the cows mooing and crickets chirping made more noise than any of the attendants.
CNN says Obama's math does not add up. Get out from under your security blanket, libs, and watch this link.
So scream-queen Nancy Grace wannabe Erin Burnet can't add. Why is that a liberal problem? Sounds to me like more of the GOPTP mentally challenged trying to showcase themselves, but the Price still isn't Right.
well it's finally Friday, so let's enjoy a joke shall we? It's somewhat applicable, considering the political mentality of our "Neo-Con" friends here:
This little old lady calls 911. When the operator answers she yells, "Help, send the police to my house right away! There's a damn Democrat on my front porch and he's playing with himself." "What?" the operator exclaimed. "I said there is a damn Democrat on my front porch playing with himself and he's weird; I don't know him and I'm afraid Please send the police!" the little old lady repeated. "Well, now, how do you know he's a Democrat?" "Because, you damn fool, if it was a Republican, he'd be raping somebody!"
Math errors are a liberal problem????? Along with spelling, grammar, logical cognitive thought...etc. What ever pops in your train of thought you spew. This is very interesting really, considering R&R want to cut funding for public education, cut back teachers, resulting in unmanageably large class room size, effecting the very education we WANT OUR children to have. On top of that, the right seems to glorify stupidity, look at their heroes. By cutting education, while giving tax brakes for private schools, we are told only the wealthy are "in titled" to higher learning, the rest are to shut up, take orders, and be thankful for that stale loaf of bread and the cardboard box you call home, that you have to "rent" from "Master". ( An ignorant populace is a controllable populace )
Keep up your witty put downs, giggle at the brilliance of your superior cognitive ability to spew non sense. It's actually fun to watch. Only sad part is you actually seem to believe your own BS.
"Ignorance is Bliss" is fine for the GOP/TP, and Valley Girls, but should not be the norm for a nation.

Liberal Denial Will Only Get Worse

Ok idiot, 1 little ABC Poll say romney up 50 to 47 in a national poll have right wing idiots saying Game Over. Go ahead fool, let that 1 poll rock your world. On Nov 6th you gonna pee your pants when Obama is re-elected around 10PM.
Name calling eh? Another liberal retard.
How's this? RCP average has Romney AHEAD.
www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html
And I'd rather let a poll rock my world than let this sorry excuse for a president continue to rock my wallet, the people I care for most, and the unemployment numbers for another four years. You are a FOOL. Put the koolaid down and walk away slowly you liberal troll!
JustAnotherGuy -
How is Romney doing in the latest swing-state polls? We do have something called the Electoral College.
When you look at Romney's Electoral College path, the math doesn't add up - just like his economic plan.
Thank you TNSEVOL, the latest swing state polls Obama is leading in most of them. But idiots like Justanother look at 1 or 2 polls that has their guy up and they think its Over. Electoral College Map is in the president favor. If the president wins OH which I'm sure he will, and win VA. Game over.
There will be more polls today, and they will be breathlessly reported and analyzed, more endorsements and more of the same rhetoric from both sides.
Tigers are down 2-0, despite a gutty performance by Doug Fister. Can they get it together and get back into the series as it moves to Detroit, or will they be looking for the license plate of the truck that ran them over?
We have hot button issues today, rape, racism, religion (and all Benghazi all the time!) ...which will be the outrage du jour?
One thing is certain...Kirsten Gillibrand is probably going to eke out a win in NYS...
Well Dangerfield, I have crunched the numbers …
Of roughly 240,000,000 potential voters Obama and Romney will split about 56% with each amassing 28%. NOBODY will garner the remainder winning with 44%. These percentages could change upon wasting enormous time factoring in NOBODY’s running mate DIDDLY but the end result I believe would be SQUAT.
N.B., NOBODY’s Electoral College strength is exemplified by being the only candidate not spending a dime in Ohio.
NOBODY’s victorious acceptance speech can be found at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRI-A3vakVg
Well,
It is true that after crunching the numbers, NOBODY seems to have the math. After all NOBODY has been running a fact based, policy oriented campaign that has avoided wedge issues and demonization of the opponent's positions.
Nobody will continue to run an ethical, honest and TRUTHFUL campaign and counts on the American people. That in their wisdom they will look at the choices, consider the past 12 years of American politics and make the right choice, the logical choice, the obvious choice...
NOBODY-2012
Not going well for the home team DF. Gonna be near freezing here for Sat and Sun games. Glad I'll be home on the couch.
Did you see the shot Fister took off his bean last night?
Dude, just got up and pitched three more innings of shutout ball. Pretty tough for a 6'8'' 200 pound string bean.
They'll be showing that one on highlight films for years.
Obama takes OH, PA, MI WI, NV, NH, IA, VA and it is a landslide.
In Unicorn land? Because reality is not on your side lib..
I've never heard of unicorn land, is that where you come from?
You know, you are the perfect example of a desperate liberal.
You talk from emotions with no basis in either reality or facts. I come at you with actual new posts from credible sites like abc and this comeback is the best you can do??
Unicorn land fits you perfectly liberal! Time to pack...someone is moving back to Chicago soon!
Unicornland- (3 imaginary EV's with tiny little wings)
The place where you both think the other person lives. It is many miles from Respectland and Adultland, but within striking distance of Orlando...
And where do you stand again dangerfield? That's right, no where in particular correct? And I've seen plenty of your posts to at least assume that.
If you have nothing to offer that leans in any particular direction, then why offer anything at all? Things that make you say hmmm....
But unicorns are not real so there can't be unicorn land, except in your imagination. As far as the election goes Obama is in complete control and leads in the important battleground states. Wait until Obama runs his ads setting forth the crazy republican position of outlawing abortion for rape and incest pregnancies.
You just proved my point, thank you. You are an ignorant fool who should be locked away, let alone given the opportunity to vote. As I said in another post, only the young, misinformed, uneducated or fanatical liberal would vote for Obama. You fit in that bubble nicely.
Reality is Obama is losing...get use to it.

If you want to find the worm, ya needs go to the middle of the apple. There is my fine fellow a perspective from all directions. Alas many seem to spoil the view.
With not a single one of the general election polls outside the MOE, trash talk, and guarantees of landslide victory are the province of the Larrys and Curleys.

Hi Ginger, and Feisty. Are you both Black? If you are why are you always reffering to Angry White male? Are you racist? Being black myself I would detest if someone would call me Black Angry female, so why do you use this term so often?
Can we agree to change it to angry American, after all are we not all Americans?
Just like our President lowers this statue when he insults his oponent, we also lower ours when we use such language. I know that the race is very close even if it shows Romney as taking the lead, it is no excuse to use the race card and you folks seem to use it more often.
Folks have had enough of Obama's lies and incompetence. Funny how sycophants on MessNBC and Brian Williams haven't even mentioned Benghazi in the last week.
Williams, with kneepads for Obama, hasn't asked him one tough question during their honeymoon.
Between Williams and Obama, I wonder who "catches"
When did we allow marriage to goats?
Williams don't have to ask Obama a tough question, he been steady with his answers for a long time. Anyone with a lick of sense knows Romney flip flops like a fish out of water on a dry bank. All I have to do is look at the man and tell he's lying. If you can't see that your blind. Every time Romney lies his face turns red as a beet. His eyes blink a 100 miles an hour. A rich mother ...........r like that don't care about anyone but himself, and his rich as.........h......le friends. I never seen a rich person, yet care some poor person. So people vote for a rich guy and see what you get. We'll get f.........ed again. Not me I'm working in China now. I had too because of George Bush not Obama. Bill Clinton is right when he said no one could fix this economy in 4 years not even him. I believe that. I hoping Obama wins the presidential race. Maybe I can move back to America, my home land. My ancestors lived there since 1740. We have more jobs if the corporations wouldn't have sold his out, just because of greed. I see it everyday, I'm living in China now. I got a first hand view.
Because Faux Noise doesn't get it that a Benghazi investigation is underway and we should wait for the results. Most reputable news organizations know that and are reporting on real issues - not the but-our-party-needs-the-outrage-and-hate-against-Obama reporting they do 24/7.
Colbert tore Faux Noise a new analpore the other night - you should watch it.
We're down to poll baiting. Romney's running toward the trap. Bang! Dead rat and nary a bite. It's all yours Mr. President.
Come on people of Ohio and Colorado save us from another four years of Obama.
Jen...I think only the young, uneducated, misinformed and fanatical liberal would vote for Obama.
If the polls up to now prove anything it is that Obama is on a sinking ship. No credible polling site has Obama in the lead. I can't wait until we can say goodbye to this sorry excuse of a President for good!
Unicorn land???
I don't know what to believe about this polling. You see one thing that says Romney's ahead and another that says Obama is. I have a friend in Ohio (former Obama supporter) that says for every 1 Obama sign you see that there are 6 Romney signs. She said four years ago it was all Obama signs so she said she wouldn't be shocked if Ohio goes red. I'm hoping that's the case.
Same here Jen.
Jen,
In the 10 most recent polls in Ohio between 10/12 and 10/24 including Rasmussen and Fox, Romney leads in ZERO

The people that vote in Nevada...CHECK YOUR BALLOT before submitting it. The ballot is auto programmed to check Obama.
That was happening in another state as well, forgot which one.
North Carolina. A few times at the same polling place. One Lady voted Romney three times before it took. They have since reset the machines According to the poll manager.
Every one look before you confirm your vote and lock it in.
you must be stupid or rich he he
How is that possible when Romney owns all of the voting machines?
blearyeyed - How is that possible when Romney owns all of the voting machines? Clearly Romney programmed them. He doesn't get a damned thing right!!!
Obama/Biden 2012
I can't wait to hear from our liberal friends the day after the election. Let me see, I betting we hear voter suppression, voter fraud, raciscm over and over again.
I just will say that if the polls in Ohio and Colorado are tied as most say and there is 5-6% still undecided do you really think they are going to break for the President. They know everything they need to know about him and I will dare say if they say they are undecided the are not voting for him!
Republicans are already complaining about voter fraud, see the comment above yours.
I love Christmas lights! They remind me of.....
"the people who voted for Obama......."
They all hang together; half of them don't work,
and the ones that do, aren't all that bright!
USA=#One - as opposed to the Republican lights where absolutely NONE of them work!!! Plus, they're all falling off the right side of the tree!
Obama/Biden 2012
It is Still the ECONOMY, Stupid!!! NOW we can add the murder of Americans in BENGHAZI!!!!!
--Sources on the ground in Benghazi during the attack on the US consulate tell Fox News that CIA operatives twice asked for permission to help Ambassador Chris Stevens and his staff, and twice were told to 'stand down' -- while a later request for military backup was denied.---
No wonder obama is trying to blame it on a video!! These are impeachable actions!!
I'm with you, border joe. I'd like to get my hands on whatever the Nobama supports are smoking, then maybe I can have some idea of what they see in this horse's ass. Visions, that's all they see, pretty visions. It's inconceivable to me that they'll vote for a complete fool, one that denounces our country, one that lies every time his lips move, and one that did absolutely NOTHING when the US Ambassador and staff were in harms way. No, he would rather hopscotch all over the place making appearances on t.v. shows and taking vacations. What a piece of work!
border joe, Fox News? Seriously? You could read this, and learn what REALLY happened in Benghazi:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/09/13/us-libya-ambassador-assault-idUSBRE88C02Q20120913
Whats wrong with being rich if you worked for it. Most rich people worked hard all their life to make it so. Why would peonies worry if they are rich or not? Could it be that they have never hit a lick and expect it handed to them?
It seems to me that there are only 3 types of people in the U.S.
Type 1... People interested in the truth that seek it out for themselves and base their important decisions on their findings.
Type 2... People who like the taste of rumor and controversy whether it be true or not and like their "truths" maleable and fed to them like babies playing airplane in high-chairs.
Type 3... People who like to impart their "truths" on others whether they be true or not and wield their spoons saying "open wide little baby".
Type 1 should get the right to vote.
Type 2 should get a life.
Type 3 should get trounced by Obama in the coming election.
It's so very easy to see who fits into what group.
and i read an interview with one of the dad's who lost their navy seal son in Benghazi. Obama wouldn't look him in the eye when they met and Biden said so how does your son have balls the size of cue balls? Ya, like its a laughing matter, really? and hillary just flat out lied to him. Nice huh?
Let Mr. Obama be president of Ohio and let Mr. Romney be president of the U.S. Problem solved.
Don't you mean the Cayman Islands. silly boy!!! Romney's got all his money there , people who vote for this idiot must be off their rocker.
l wonder if the Obama administration demanded that the banks and auto industry implement structural reforms before bailing them out. If not, using taxpayer money to bail out struggling industries can hardly be called "accomplishments."
They should, because if Obama wins, he may be looking at GM going bankrupt all over again.

New Romney slogan: Change, but Without the Hope.
New Obama job training mantra "Want fries with that?"
It's Romney's barons of the small business that own the sandwich and pizza shops and who Romney holds out as models of the American employer. In Romney's world, we will either all borrow money from our parents to open a fast food restaurant, or if our parents are poor, we will work there.
Why is Ohio not going to count the provisional ballots until Nov. 17th.? If it is a close race in Ohio and could affect the Electoral College outcome why wait so long? GOP Gov. and Election officials in control again.

Nice list - mostly full of distortions or unkept campaign promises, not lies or reversals of positions though.
Now try and name a single issue on which Romney has not completely reversed his position - JUST ONE.
Didn't think so.
Now try and name a single issue on which Romney has not completely reversed his position - JUST ONE.

Hey A.R. Pasco, WA They just don't like him because he black, and I'm white and I'm not Racists. You think they'd got over the Race issue by now. People need that medical coverage. People bitch when can't pay and then they bitch when we can pay. I think people just want to bitch about something.
This is not a "Gotcha" question - seriously, if you vote for Mitt Romney how do you know who or what you are voting for?
Supporters of his Senate campaign in 1994 voted for a ROmney who said he would be to the "left of Kenedy" on Gay Rights. Who knows what he would have done if elected?
Supporters of his gubernatorial campaign in Massachusetts voted for a "moderate" who by the end of his term had reversed his positions on Abortion, Stem Cell Research, Assault Weapons, Gay Rights, and Taxes in advance of a run for President. ALL IN FOUR YEARS!! His approval ratings plummetted as people got to know him, ending up around 30%!
Romney has subsequently reversed his positions on Coal, Blind Trusts, and Healthcare; and after campaigning during the Republican primaries as a "severe conservative" has switched to moderate positions on many issues - including taxes and foreign policy - with just a few weeks remaining in the campaign!
How does anyone thinking about voting for Romney have any idea of how he will truly govern?
So at worst, Romney could change his mind. At best Obama will either lie, or change is mind, sorry Evolve (since he doesn't change his mind). My Vote is for Romney, even playing Vegas odds he would be the better choice, we already know what Obama would do, and it wouldn't be good for the country.
God Bless President Obama.

Yes, he will win Ohio, b/c they are using voting machines owned by his son.
Democracy? Are you kidding yourself???
Mr. Romneys son will not win this state or any other for him. Mr. Obama will win it for Romney, to wit; (1) He has tried and almost succeeded in forcing a socialistic health care model on Amereica. The same type model is failing miserably in Europe right now. (2) He has declared that he will take over 700 BILLION dollars from Medicare to pay for it. Hows that for you seniors ? Huh? (3) He gave 'stimulus' $ to 'green' companies that spent the $ then went bankrupt.(4) Under his watch a really bad idea called 'fast and furious' was implemented, austensibly to sell guns to drug runners then track them to the 'big dogs'. One of those guns was used to murder a federal agent in the border area that should have beewn closed LOOOONG ago. NOBODY in this administration has EVER took full responsibility for this fiasco. (5) He talks constantly about how to give illegal aliens who meet certain criteria a 'path to citizenship'. But he will NOT get behind any sensible effort to close the American border in order to stop people from comming here illegally.(6) I teach my sons to obey the rulles at home, at school, at church, et al. And I cant even point to my government as an example of enforcing their own rules re immigration. What kind of example is this? And you want THIS kind of leadership for ANOTHER 4 years? REALLY??? Well, not me. Nope...nada...nyet...I will vote for change, and change is comming, Yo. In less than two weeks. Get ready for it. A government that thinks it can make my life decisions better than I can will never get my vote....never! Just another voice....
Please tell me you're not that ignorant Steve? But then again you're a Obama supporter. Ok, you are but nevertheless. Let's think through the statement you just made. Do you really, honestly believe Obama would not make sure those machines were replaced if for some reason it were true about Romney's son? He would be much, much dumber than I even thought if that were the case!!!!! But I guess if Obama perpetuates that myth, then he can explain to his gullible koolaid drinker voters why he lost!! Duh!!!
And early voting in NC has proven that a vote for Romney was changed to Obama.....so both sides cry foul...
Oftentimes you can determine the validity of an argument (or a campaign) based upon the cross-section of the people who espouse it. Colin Powell, for example, articulated what I thought was a very candid, honest and simple analysis of why Obama should be re-elected as opposed to his opponent. But I can honestly say that in my numerous years on this planet, I have never seen a bigger collection of fringed knuckleheads than is the current Republican leadership and opinion leaders. John Sununu has had his foot in his mouth the entire campaign. Which is particularly difficult considering where he has his head. Toss in the "Rape is OK" brothers, Michelle "The Muslims are Coming! The Muslims are Coming!" Bachmann, Herman Caine, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Ann Coulter, Flush Limbaugh, Glen Beck (and numerous other right-wing radio flap mouths) and the entire management and staff of Foxed-up News and I'm surprised this country hasn't returned to the gold standard (Beck would like that). Ironically, the only one who comes off as halfway intelligent is George W. Bush because he's sitting on the couch at his ranch keeping his mouth closed. Yes, sure, the Dems have their share of loudmouths and ideologists and boneheads. But the righties are currently fielding an all-star team. We will never again see this kind of self-promoting, damn-the-47% firepower again. We hope.
