Romney says he's the candidate of 'big change' while barnstorming Ohio

While stumping in Cincinnati, Ohio, GOP candidate Mitt Romney stressed that his campaign was about 'big things' and promised he was going to bring the 'big changes' that Americans want.

CINCINNATI, OH -- Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said he was the candidate of "big change" at the outset of three-event bus tour of battleground Ohio on Thursday.

The former Massachusetts governor cast President Barack Obama as a figure of the "status quo," and made clear that the Republican ticket represented "big change" by contrast -- repeating that phrase throughout his speech.

"This is a critical time for our country and the choice of paths we chose will have an enormous impact. We have huge challenges," Romney said, ticking off issues ranging from job creation to education. "These challenges are big challenges. This election is therefore a big choice. And America wants to see big changes and we’re gonna bring big changes to get America stronger again.”

Romney repeated his mantra of "big change" more than 10 times in his roughly 30 minute remarks, hammering the point home again and again and melding it into his broader critique of Obama.

"The Obama campaign doesn't have a plan," Romney said. "The Obama campaign is slipping because he's talking about smaller and smaller things despite the fact that America has such huge challenges and that this is such an opportunity for America, and that's why on November 6th I'm counting on Ohio to vote for big change!"

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney speaks during a campaign stop at Jet Machine, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in Cincinnati.

A senior Romney adviser said that the focus on "big change" would continue in the race's final days.

"Highlighting our campaign's focus on big issues and contrasting that with the smallness of President Obama's campaign will be something we make clear with voters today and through the rest of the campaign," Romney senior adviser Kevin Madden told NBC.

“Here’s the ‘big change’ Mitt Romney is offering: going back to the same failed policies that caused the economic crisis and empowering the extreme voices in his party like Richard Mourdock," Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith said in a statement.

Romney also continued to highlight how his policies might be better for individual families than Obama's,

Thursday's Deep Dive featured a look at Ohio's key counties and their election histories in 2004 and 2008. Which way will they vote this year? The Daily Rundown's Chuck Todd reports.

"This election is not about me. It’s not about the Republican party. It’s about America. And it’s about your family," Romney said after running through a series of scenarios like caring for an aging relative or getting a good education for a child, and how those experiences would differ under a second Obama term or a Romney presidency.

The GOP standard-bearer also launched into an extended riff this morning about how a voter's hypothetical daughter -- a play toward prized women swing voters -- might suffer from Obama's proposals.

Interviews with female voters at Romney's event suggested this strategy could be part of the right prescription to close the gender gap with women in Ohio.

"I don't think that women are any different from any other voters in particular, and I think that what women are concerned about is they have a dual concern," explained Romney supporter Emilia Pater, a homemaker from Cincinnati who attended this morning's rally. "They're concerned about the economy and their families, because most women are caretakers of their families and they are the ones that are looking toward the future and saying what's going to be left for my children?"

Bush gave us a big change. From the economy we had in 2000 to the economy we had in 2008. That was a really big change.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell on Thursday endorsed Barack Obama in his bid for re-election, citing the Democratic president's efforts to wind down the war in Afghanistan and tackling terrorism.

"And so I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on," the Republican, who also backed Obama in 2008, told "CBS This Morning."

Big change? I think he means 'big money'. Like what he has stuffed in all those offshore bank accounts he won't let us see his tax records on account of. Holy magic underpants!

At least he's being honest.  Wait a bit and you'll see a BIG CHANGE from whatever it was he said about most any issue from the last time.

Honesty and integrity? Is that what Faux News convinced you flip-flopping means? How much integrity can there be when he believes the man who had 50 wives- including a 14-year old girl he told must sleep with him or she'll go to hell- is a prophet of god who wrote his own bible? If it was a democrat Mor(m)on you'd be plotting revolution and crying the country is going to hell! Off shore bank accounts? You'd be stockpiling more weapons if it was a democrat. Bunch of hypocrites. Santorum was right (never thought I'd say that)- you'll never have the smart people on your side- we don't fall for bullsh*t!

WAPO/ABC POLL: INDEPENDENT VOTERS MOVING TO ROMNEY

The latest Washington Post/ABC tracking poll shows voters moving toward Romney since the third debate:

As Romney hits 50, the president stands at 47 percent, his lowest tally in Post-ABC polling since before the national party conventions. A three-point edge gives Romney his first apparent advantage in the national popular vote, but it is not one that is statistically significant with a conventional level of 95 percent confidence.

Results from the tracking poll were first released Monday evening, and had Obama at 49 percent, and Romney at 48. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the results were flipped, with Romney at 49 and the president at 48. All of the results are among likely voters.

Two of the four nights reported here include interviews conducted entirely after Monday's debate in Boca Raton

THE POLL SHOWS ROMNEY WINNING INDEPENDENTS BY 19 PERCENTAGE POINTS!!!

Should that advantage stick, it would be the sharpest tilt among independents in a presidential election since Ronald Reagan's 1984 landslide win. (Reagan won independent and other unaffiliated voters 63 to 36 percent, according to the exit poll). Obama won them by eight in 2008.

        BYE BYE OBUMBO!!!

Benghazi lasted over 7 hours. A drone was sending back live video to the White house. Who in that house so white decided to let our guys die?

We had military assets that could of had boots on the ground within 1 hour.

The last email sent sent from the Safe house was 6 hours after the fight started.

Who in that house so white decided tio let our guys die?

That is the question I ask all Americans.

Democrat or Republican someone in that house so white let our boys die and watched it on live video.

Do any of you have a brain from yourselves? Or a life of your own? 10 minutes of reading talking points like you all sound intelligent. The truth of the matter is Bush and subsequently Obama have our great nation so polarized that posts like the ones here abound everywhere. You're doing exactly what they want people. Wake the eff up. Start supporting real candidates, those with heart and brains and yes, little money to campaign. Washington is so messed up and you are all towing the same garbage lines. I pray you one day wake up.

What about the GOP member who stated that rape was the Will of God?

              http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/25/when-gods-will-rape-and-pregnancy-collide/?hpt=hp_t2

Is this the real GOP that we are finally seeing come to the surface?

GOP members endorsing rape? While the rest of the GOP members turn the other direction and brush it under the rug as if it never happened?

The comment made by the GOP member should be brought to bear on the GOP Party and Romneys campaign.

After all Mourdock is a GOP member just like Romney is.

So is rape the will of god or a frenzied attempt to create a media stir to keep American bouncing back and fourth between GOP candidates?

Rape is not the Will of God. Rape is the will of absolute evil. Evil that is present within the GOP Party. How far such evil has spread will only surface if Romney is elected.

Here's another one of those Repub men voicing his opinion on rape. What's the matter with these neanderthals! And then there's the Wisc. PAC that supports him.

"Prominent Republicans in Wisconsin quickly dropped their support for state Rep. Roger Rivard (R-River Lake) after he told a newspaper that "[s]ome girls rape easy." But much like after Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) made his controversial comments about "legitimate rape" and lost the backing of the GOP establishment, social conservatives and at least one "family values" group are rushing in to help.

On Wednesday, the Wisconsin Family Action PAC -- which bills itself as committed to "strengthening and preserving marriage, family, life and liberty" -- endorsed Rivard."

What to expect from the GOP if Romney is elected.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock stirred controversy during a debate in Indiana Tuesday when he said pregnancies from rape are “something that God intended to happen.” The instant reaction in political circles was predictable: Democrats decried him, and many conservative Republicans defended his position as steadfastly “pro-life.”

Since Romney is Pro-Life then he would have to support such a notion as a president otherwise it would make Romney a proponent of Free-Choice because the rape that occured was not based upon the woman making a pro-choice determination to become pregnant or not as well as a pro-choice decision in keeping a child conceived through rape.

This GOP member is being kept around just to stir the pot so people will have something to talk about.

This is one reason why I will never vote Republican.

                http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/25/when-gods-will-rape-and-pregnancy-collide/?hpt=hp_t2

The GOP are evil animals who do things that are evil to one group so that another group within the GOP will denounce the evil drawing support for the person who denounced the evil act of the other GOP member.

When is the last time that you heard of a Democrat endorsing rape as being God's will?

Trash every single one of them.

After reading Romney's NYT op-ed on managed bankruptcy, it's clear that President Obama intentionally misrepresented Romney's proposal. Romney's article could have easily been tagged "My Plan to Save Detroit". It's sad but President Obama has become what he once ran against – a typical politician willing to use false and dishonest attacks to save his job.

THOMAS PETERFFY - The facts about a BILLIONAIRE BOZO... with lots of money to spend:
                  by TennesseeEd

I know everyone has been seeing the "sad-droopy-eared-hound-dog-boo-hoo" type ad that the sorry LIAR republiCON, THOMAS PETERFFY, has been running, day and night, to degrade, demean and harass our president, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, LIBERALS and the DEMOCRATIC PARTY. It seems to bring a fleeting tear to the eyes of those who do not know the facts behind THOMAS PETERFFY; but I am here to clear up the details concerning this sorry, sloth, LYING, self righteous and enormously wealthy "scoundrel putz". I call it "THE SECRET mitt romney - thomas peterffy FIVE POINT PLAN" for a better WEALTHY PERSON ECONOMY :

FACT and POINT # 1 : THOMAS PETERFFY was born in Hungary, a COMMUNIST country, not a SOCIALIST country. He fled Hungary to escape COMMUNISM, not SOCIALISM. There is a BIG difference; COMMUNISM is a POLITICAL system and SOCIALISM is an ECONOMIC system found in many political systems (even in the USA). So, Thomas Peterffy's painted scenario of a NATION OF POOR PEOPLE because of SOCIALISM is a pure LIE. Communism holds the responsibility for making the poor poorer and in forcing these "ad-pictured-poor" to work like dogs for the VERY RICH.

The ultimate DREAM of every USA republiCON is to have only TWO CLASSES of citizens; THE VERY RICH and THE VERY POOR. Of course the VERY POOR would be forced to work like a dog for the VERY RICH !!! This is COMMUNISM....(LOOK IT UP)

Monarchies like The British Isles, France and many other countries have a SOCIALIST government; they are doing GREAT and are NOT COMMUNIST !!! We already have MANY socialized economic structures here in The United States of America; they include the post office, schools, libraries, FBI, CIA, Secret Service, police , fire departments, parks, TVA dam hydro-electric systems, roads and highway departments, health departments and many other organizations you don't even know exist !!! These structures are SOUND because the government regulates and watches over them to keep them that way !!! So... what is the big deal and the BIG SCARE about OBAMACARE ??? Could it be that the wealthy has trillions invested into the INSURANCE and HOSPITAL INDUSTRY, much like the OIL INDUSTRY, and they are afraid of losing a Rolls Royce or two ???

FACT and POINT # 2 : THOMAS PETERFFY made this statement about how to be a CEO of a major manufacturing company that provides millions of JOBS : PETERFFY SAID, "I think the way a CEO runs his company is a reflection of his background. Business is a collection of processes, and my job is to AUTOMATE those processes so that they can be done with the greatest amount of efficiency.". In addition, during his financial career, as a RICH MAN, he consistently worked to replace MANUAL processes (requiring a human worker) with more AUTOMATED ones (no human worker) that he called more efficient !!! What a slap in the face this is to most of the middle class and all poor people who make up the working class of our nation !!! This is another way for a republiCON to become MORE and MORE WEALTHY, the MIDDLE CLASS becoming poor and the POOR becoming devastatingly POORER !!!

FACT and POINT # 3 : THOMAS PETERFFY has donated AT LEAST $60,000.00 in campaign contributions to the republiCON party, even though he claims to be an Independent. His other secret campaign contributions may be in the billion dollar range !!! This would hold true for a republiCON, because the sloth gop seething viper will do anything, say anything, tell any LIE and drop to any LOW to hold on to their RICHES !!! They would sell their souls and their own disabled mother to the devil if they thought it would make them the richest man on the planet !!! Speaking of souls; could these wealthy seething vipers be claiming to be GODLY(for religious righter votes, but really working for evil); being veiled members of the self righteous, corrupt mormon, baptist or other religious cults ??? Joining CHURCH and STATE is their ultimate goal; to kill off who they do not like....in the name of GOD and JESUS.

FACT and POINT # 4 : THOMAS PETERFFY has PERSONALLY paid MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to CNN, CNBC and BLOOMBERG TELEVISION for these anti-socialism ads. This is a lot of money for a poor little "boo-hoo" refugee from a so-called socialist and communist country to spend, isn't it ???

FACT and POINT # 5 : THOMAS PETERFFY, as of September 2012, is worth over 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS ($4, 600,000,000.00). His favorite POLITICIAN is mitt romney and his worth is over $190 - 250 MILLION ($250,000,000.00) !!! Does this tell you who's side those two rich boys are on ??? Do I need to spell it out ???

Now I ask you, "Who do you think THOMAS PETERFFY and MITT ROMNEY supports; ..... the hard-working poor and middle class.....OR THE VERY LAZY NON-WORKING WEALTHY???"

PLEASE VOTE FOR OBAMA / BIDEN : The people who support the poor and hard working people of AMERICA !!! TennesseeEd

Why are so many so surprised that Myth Romney stood in front of 67 million voters
and lied thru his teeth??? That is the GOP way!!!

                    George
                    H. W. Bush "Read my lips no new taxes"!!!

                    George
                    W. Bush "Republicans will be compassionate conservatives"???

                    Mitt
Romney "I never said I was going to give the rich an additional 10 percent
                    off on their taxes"&&&

                    I'm
starting to think I like the idea of Romney winning. And when he gives he and
his rich buddies more tax breaks and takes this country's economy over the edge
of that cliff that President Obama has worked so hard to pull us back from with
nothing but treasonous opposition from the idiots on the right, I am going to
                    love it.

                    Then
when the right pulls out the second trick in their three trick pony act, I
might actually weep for you idiots when he sends your kids into war so he and
his rich buddies can get even richer while your kids come home in boxes.

                    And
the third trick is to deregulate everything, banks, insurance companies,
utility companies and its "bend over middle class"!!!

Look at CNN's "snapshot" of Obama's economy with any kind of a sensible time smoothing and it's obvious that a turnaround and gradual recovery is underway. It is also clear that Federal spending is coming under control, and that debt as a fraction of GDP is stabilizing. The CBO also shows a number of studies concerning the stimulus' beneficial effects and the provenance of the recent additions to the national debt.

In contrast the empty suits Myth Robme and Lyin Ryan have a empty shell based on bad arithmetic, and phony Wish Economics. Now in the Sensata tragedy we see the real Robme voodoo economics at work, these are his real plans for all of US!

                      Check out [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cO1F7EcGFAc&feature=relmfu ]

Is this the economy we want? Looks to me like a textbook case of masturbatory (trickle down) voodoo economics guaranteed to feather the nests of the 1%rs and screw the rest of US. When pressed on details ol' Myth just babbles about his (vulture) business experience. He's like Rudy Giuliani, but instead of "noun, verb, 9/11", you get "noun, verb, businessman". He has whole Federal agencies scheduled for "creative destruction" with no idea of the real impact on anyone else (just like at Bain Capital). He wants to save defense programs, but lower taxes (only on his fellow 1%ers of course) and the numbers just don't add up. You'd think some of these self-righteous monkeys would have the integrity to get that Lyin' Ryan budget scored by the CBO? Nah, not a chance. Whereas Mr.Obama's plan has recently been further supported by the CBO.

George Carlin said once (I think), "Whenever you hear some businessmen discussing what policies are good for America, don't bend over!" Here are their central errors in thinking:

                      1. Fantasy: Lower taxes on job creators actually create jobs. No, demand creates jobs, and over 50 years of data there is no correlation between income tax rates (steady decrease) and unemployment (wildly oscillatory).

                      2. Fantasy: Success in American business is due solely to the heroic entrepreneur and corporate leader. No, it ain't, all the help given by legal or physical market infrastructure, as well as the hard work from your employees is an essential, big part of any successful business.

                      3. Fantasy: Business tax breaks and minimal regulation are necessary for a healthy economy. Horsescheiss — Love Canal, BP Horizon Oil Spill, Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, Wall Street crisis # (well you pick one), etc.

                      4. Fantasy: Debt is out of control and we GOP are the only ones who care. Wrong, but it certainly is a serious question and far too serious to get emotional about. Revenue and spending can balance and have been successfully balanced in times past. Never mind a $5T tax cut to the rich, a tax base of $2.7T AGI is an available resource every year from the highest 2% fat cats. There is clearly room for a balance approach and clearly room for the fat cats to should a fairer share of the burden they have in great measure created by squeezing the middle class for decades.

5: Fantasy: Defense spending needs to increase. Horsehocky. We outspend our five nearest competitors combined, and that top five list includes some of our allies! What needs to increase is creatively synergistic and leveraged R&D on new energy technologies and other sources of export trade. Some of this will be defense relevant anyway — learn to fight the next war, not the last war.

                      6. Fantasy: Entitlements are dominated by a culture of dependency. The core of Myth Robme's 47% LIE. Fact is that most of those entitlements arise from veteran's service, social security, and medicare — all of them earned benefits from a lifetime of paying into the system with your blood or treasure or both.

Your choice, follow Myth "Sensata" Robme and run America like a bankrupt business; or

Stick with Mr Obama and run America like the family it really is!

Romney is a millionaire and he has been unemployed; he hasn't cared about the middle/poor classes before the presidential election nor stood up for the 98% Americans when his party, Republicans in the Congress, reluctant to increase the top 2% wealthy population, to be fair to the rest of the taxpayers who have paid at least above 15% which is higher than Romney's income tax in 2011.

Romney has also multiple bank accounts oversea, and his children, of course, do not need to worry about anything. He has not been changed, at least, his own conscience. If it is not because of the presidential election, he should not pay above 14%, but below 15%, this year. And this year, he said that he has paid too much, for it is just for the show of the presidential business.

Romney is not going to change, when all these years, he has been unemployed, very indulgent in his investment, and he is already a millionaire. And he has refused to say anything to fight for us after his term of governorship in MA, such as healthcare reform.

Romney could have said something about the improvement or the innovation of our left-behind transportation system, such as a speedy rail system, in which we are completely left behind when we compare to our Europe allies, after the end of his governing at MA.

Romney could also teach the technique of his investment skill to our social welfare programs after his presidential campaign lost in 2008, but he has no where to be found, and he just pops up in 2012. Does he really care about USA and its people? Or he is just for the seat in the White House, for it is going to be his lifetime goal.

Please we need a president who care about the majority of the USA population, 98%, which they are middle/poor classes, but also to be fair to the top 2% of the USA population, such as the tax rate. President Obama can guarantee for that. Please elect President Obama again in 2012.

It's dejevu... Adolph Hitler and Josef Stalin debating on who's better qualified to run the World. And, their ideologies are the same, 'Socialism' vs 'Fascism'. Wow! Is this what it felt like?

I don't know if I should click my heels or go get my hammer and sickle... of course, I do want to be on the winning side.

Many people of minority religions are becoming very uncomfortable with the GOP's new identity as the party of Christ. We never have had a religious party in this country and that should be the rule. The ultra religious right wing seems determined to change this country into a theocracy based on one religion. Jack Kennedy when he ran for the the presidency had to give a speech explaining he would not let the beliefs of his catholic religion and the pope effect the way he governed. That should hold true right now.
