While stumping in Cincinnati, Ohio, GOP candidate Mitt Romney stressed that his campaign was about 'big things' and promised he was going to bring the 'big changes' that Americans want.
CINCINNATI, OH -- Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said he was the candidate of "big change" at the outset of three-event bus tour of battleground Ohio on Thursday.

The former Massachusetts governor cast President Barack Obama as a figure of the "status quo," and made clear that the Republican ticket represented "big change" by contrast -- repeating that phrase throughout his speech.
"This is a critical time for our country and the choice of paths we chose will have an enormous impact. We have huge challenges," Romney said, ticking off issues ranging from job creation to education. "These challenges are big challenges. This election is therefore a big choice. And America wants to see big changes and we’re gonna bring big changes to get America stronger again.”

Romney repeated his mantra of "big change" more than 10 times in his roughly 30 minute remarks, hammering the point home again and again and melding it into his broader critique of Obama.
"The Obama campaign doesn't have a plan," Romney said. "The Obama campaign is slipping because he's talking about smaller and smaller things despite the fact that America has such huge challenges and that this is such an opportunity for America, and that's why on November 6th I'm counting on Ohio to vote for big change!"

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney speaks during a campaign stop at Jet Machine, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in Cincinnati.
A senior Romney adviser said that the focus on "big change" would continue in the race's final days.
"Highlighting our campaign's focus on big issues and contrasting that with the smallness of President Obama's campaign will be something we make clear with voters today and through the rest of the campaign," Romney senior adviser Kevin Madden told NBC.
“Here’s the ‘big change’ Mitt Romney is offering: going back to the same failed policies that caused the economic crisis and empowering the extreme voices in his party like Richard Mourdock," Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith said in a statement.

Romney also continued to highlight how his policies might be better for individual families than Obama's,
Thursday's Deep Dive featured a look at Ohio's key counties and their election histories in 2004 and 2008. Which way will they vote this year? The Daily Rundown's Chuck Todd reports.
"This election is not about me. It’s not about the Republican party. It’s about America. And it’s about your family," Romney said after running through a series of scenarios like caring for an aging relative or getting a good education for a child, and how those experiences would differ under a second Obama term or a Romney presidency.

The GOP standard-bearer also launched into an extended riff this morning about how a voter's hypothetical daughter -- a play toward prized women swing voters -- might suffer from Obama's proposals.
Interviews with female voters at Romney's event suggested this strategy could be part of the right prescription to close the gender gap with women in Ohio.
"I don't think that women are any different from any other voters in particular, and I think that what women are concerned about is they have a dual concern," explained Romney supporter Emilia Pater, a homemaker from Cincinnati who attended this morning's rally. "They're concerned about the economy and their families, because most women are caretakers of their families and they are the ones that are looking toward the future and saying what's going to be left for my children?"

In a way, Willard may be right on this!
If you want BIG change as in a pathological serial lying sociopath occupying the Oval Office, then Willard is your guy!
How about you stop the fantasies Willard, and tell us some specifics for a refreshing change of pace?
“Here’s the ‘big change’ Mitt Romney is offering: going back to the same failed policies that caused the economic crisis and empowering the extreme voices in his party like Richard Mourdock," Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith said in a statement.
I don't think Romney is going to win Ohio. He's the guy that rapes companies, profits from them and send the jobs overseas.
"Insanely" huge crowd for President Obama in VA.

If has campaign has been any indication, we could expect big changes from Romney on a weekly basis..
That would be hilarious if it wasn't so frighteningly true, Irving.
I think we are going to need a big white board for all the changes. Who wants to be the scorekeeper on all the "big changes"? I caution the volunteer who accepts this challenge! You will definitely need hair implants from all the hair pulling you will be doing trying to keep up with the flip-flops that man will inflict upon this country. At the end of the day I don't think a one of us will know which end is up!
None of the anti-Obama posters ever say WHY they support Willard!..They say nothing positive about him!
If you classify putting someone in charge of your country who was head of Bain Capital, a company that bought and stripped companies, put communities out of work with no healthcare, retirement, college funding and homes...and sent their jobs overseas.
Yes, that would be a change.
Having someone in charge who refuses to show more than 2 sketchy years of Tax Returns, would be a change.
In a week or two, Bain's Sensata will send a hightech factory to China.
Big Change as in giving more power to the 30+ states who give rapists parental visitation rights.
Big Change as in a rape victim has to spend months and thousands of dollars fighting in courts to have an abortion. If the Republicans on the court drag it out long enough, they can prohibit an abortion all together.
Romney picked "forcible rape" Ryan as his VP.
Romney one did ads for one senate Republican and that was Mourdock.
Big Change Romney will take away a woman's rights.
Big Change Romney will take away worker's rights.
Big Change Romney promoted a Chinese Company who used barbed wire to keep their slave labor workers in.
Fiesty,
You are spot on!
Change has been Mittens speciality. He has had more changes in postions then Imelda Marcos had shoes. (probally giving my age away there).
How can anyone with a modicum of sense feel that they could support this shape shifter is beyond me? He has either Romnesia as the President suggests, or is a diabolical liar who will say anything to win a vote. Seems there is no real core values with this man.
Big Change? There will be nothing new with Romney at the helm; we've already been through the constant lies of Tricky Dick Nixon, we've already been through epic failures in foreign policy vis a vie BushII, and we have seen first hand the disastrous fiscal failures of Reagan and BushII. With Romney at the helm, it will be a Rinse/Repeat cycle - a true Romney Tsunami of epic
proportionsdestruction.Willard has that right. When he is done turning Social Security into a profit center for his Wall Street buddies and Medicare for a voucher program, expect mom, pop and Uncle Artie to move in with you as they can no longer count on Social Security and Medicare to live independently.
He will also return the student loan program to one in which the government takes on all the costs, risks, and expenses and the banks get all the profit. I guess this is what "running the government like a business" looks like. Of course Pell Grants would be cut and education funding cut and chopped up into block grants.
I don't really understand why Governor Romney thinks we want Big Change. When Obama took office, the deficit was 1.4 trillion. He's reduced it to slightly less 1 trillion. Which is still huge, but it is going down and is projected to go down further. Obama turned the economy around. We have had 30 months of dropping unemployment. At this point, as many people are employed as when Obama took office. Which isn't great, but we are headed in the right direction, as opposed to losing jobs, when he took office.
Obama has finished two wars.
He has provided Obamacare, which should provide for a healthier workforce; which in turn will both aid the economy and close the deficit further, as healthy people work harder, make more money, and also pay more taxes.
Why would we want to upset all that?
President Bush took a surplus and turned it into the biggest deficit the country has ever seen. He started two wars, one needless, the other horribly mismanaged.
Why do we need Change, when we are finally headed in the right direction?
Hey Willard we'll keep Obama in the White House and you can keep your "big change".
Calling your opponent "Romnesia" and "Robme".
What a Fine example for a President of the United States to set. The top Representative of all U.S. Citizens and the U.S. stooping down to such petty tactics making up names to call his opponent.
For the sake of the Office of the President of the United States, and the United States itself, so it wont be dragged down any lower than they already have, please help vote Obama out.
We need a President that represents our values. Our values are not to ridicule, call people names, and be disrespectful of people we don't agree with.
Romney proposes Big Change, he just can't remember which of the Big changes he'd committed to last.
Yeah, just give him a minute and he'll change to your views at the drop of a hat. :)
After 4 years of Obama's failed leadership, we can only "Hope" there will be some "Change" left in our pockets when he's done.
Median family income is DOWN under Obama while energy costs have risen !
Our National Debt has risen about $5.2 trillion+ under Obama ... without Obama ever having a BUDGET !
Unemployment has failed to improve and the "shovel-ready" jobs were actually just Obama "shoveling it" to the gullible.
We need a President to stimulate manufacturing jobs here in the U.S. again. Obama has stimulated manufacturing overseas and Obamacare will further that trend.
Lord knows, if Obama gets re-elected, he will inherit an even bigger mess than the guy who was elected in 2008. Hope and Change only go so far when you have a clueless President like Obama in office.
I will admit that this mother f'er changes alot.
He already made a big change. He changed his entire belief system to try and get elected. (except for the magic underwear). That reminds me.
"Under My new regime, people will have to change their underwear every half an hour. From now on, all underwear must be worn on the outside so we can check. All persons under 16 years old, are now 16 years old......."
David Noah ...
From that statement, it's pretty obvious who shares "our" values and that is President Obama. Mitt's core set of values are nothing close to middle class Americans. We don't need to give them a "turn." Don't know if you saw this yesterday, but the rest of the world tends to agree with the Democrats ...

Romney's idea of giving someone 'big change' is to toss a quarter to them as he drives by in his Cadillac, complete with rooftop dog carrier.
Romney is for Big Change every hour on the hour. Figures if he keeps his supporters dizzy enough he can keep fooling them!
Obama/Biden 2012
Is it that time already? We have to change the clock from Hope and Change to Change and No Hope?
Mitt has outsourced more jobs overseas - just real BIG (sarcasm)
Mitt supports Richard 'The Dork' Mourdock and Todd 'The Toddler' Akin - thus -

Updated as of 1:30pm EST on Thursday, October 25:
Real Clear Politics (RCP) is consistently cited by both FOXNEWS and NBCNEWS as a current source for
reliable averaged polling data at every level of American politics.
RCP continues to consider the following ten states as "toss-up": Florida (FL), Pennsylvania (PA), Ohio (OH), Michigan (MI), Virginia (VA), Colorado (CO), Wisconsin (WI), Iowa IO), Nevada (NV) and New Hampshire (NH). With only 12 days left in the 2012 presidential campaign, Obama leads in seven of the toss-ups and Romney leads in three.
In descending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Obama, followed in ascending order of 'percentage of lead' in favor of Romney, here are the published averaged polling numbers from RCP as of 1:30pm EST on Thursday, October 25:
In PA, with 20 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 4.8%, down from a longstanding lead of 5.0%.
In MI, with 16 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 4.0%, down from 5.0% for most of the past four weeks.
In NV, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 2.7%, down from 2.8% yesterday.
In WI, with 10 electoral votes, Obama's lead is holding at 2.7%.
In OH, with 18 electoral votes, Obama's lead has risen to 2.1%, up from 1.7% yesterday.
In IO, with 6 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 2.0%, down from 2.4% yesterday.
In NH, with 4 electoral votes, Obama's lead has fallen to 0.8%, down from 1.4% yesterday.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In CO, with 9 electoral votes, Romney's lead is holding at 0.2%.
In VA, with 13 electoral votes, Romney's lead is 1.4%, up from a longstanding tie.
In FL, with 29 electoral votes, Romney's lead has fallen to 1.7%, down from 1.8% yesterday.
So…
For Obama to win re-election, the easiest route still appears to be through maintaining his existing lead in the five toss-up states where his current margins are widest: PA, MI, NV, WI, and OH. Doing so would bring his electoral vote total on Election Day to 271.
However, should Obama lose the critically important and highly-contested state of OH, the loss could effectively be neutralized by combined victories in IO and NH, while stealing CO where Romney currently leads by 0.2%, resulting in an electoral vote tally of 272.
For Romney to unseat Obama, he not only would have to hold the three states in which he presently leads, FL, VA, and CO, bringing his electoral vote total to 257, but also steal a victory in OH where Obama's lead rose today to is 2.1%. By so doing, Romney's electoral vote total reaches 275.
With only twelve days of campaigning left, this one may come down to the wire…. and to the October jobs report.
Let's hope that Election Day is free of both voter fraud and voter intimidation and that eligible voters who have registered in good faith over the past six months are in fact able to vote on November 6; let's also hope that vote tabulation itself is performed honestly and accurately by both the election commissions and private corporations to whom this essential role is being entrusted.
In any case, it will be interesting to watch as election night unfolds.
"BIG CHANGE"
That's what your paycheck will have in it if Rob-Me wins. It won't however be big change in the workers favor, but big change in the PROFIT of the Corporations that will be sending even more of your jobs to China.
It will be "BIG CHANGE" in your out of pocket expense for health care costs.
It will be "BIG CHANGE" in the SCOTUS when Rob-Me gets to appoint MORE Republican judges so he and his rotten PACS can push more garbage on the American people like "Citizens United" so they can BUY our government COMPLETELY and toss aside the citizens of the United States ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! A vote for Obama will insure moderate judges that will be able to overturn "Citizens United"!!! If you LOVE AMERICA, Vote OBAMA!!!
It will be "BIG CHANGE" if Rob-Me wins and gives MORE tax breaks for the rich and puts MORE of the burden on the middle class. His math doesn't work and never will. You will be SUCKER PUNCHED by the Republicans if they get in power.
Only one question I have for Republicans...If Romney is so great, and such a great American and job creator, then why has he and his buddies moved all their capitol OUT OF AMERICA??? You can't create jobs when your capital is working OUTSIDE AMERICA!!!
One last thing...OHIO, VOTE NOW!!! Don't let Mitts kid and the company he funds that makes your voting equipment (That can change votes with a simple cell phone) STEAL YOUR VOTE!!! Go to your local Supervisor of Elections office and vote on a paper ballot and don't forget to sign your ballot. Don't let what happened in Florida where they used $100 Million in taxpayer money to buy DIBOLD equipment to STEAL THE VOTE and change the outcome of a presidential election.
romney's idea of change is to change america back to the 1850's
no women and minorites voting. no civil rights . no medicare. no social security.
and the workers working for the man at wages that only keep you fed enough to be able to go to work.
It will be big change all right.
Bread lines and vouchers.
He's says he's willing to be a one term President.
He's willing to let the far right plunge this country into the a recession AGAIN with
their draconian austerity measures from the 1920's, along with their social policies from the "Mad Men"
era of the 1950's and their very reckless foreign policy plans from the 80's.
NO THANKS Romney, keep the change.
We had big change under the last republican President. Yes, we're still feeling the pain.
Vote every republican out of every office every chance yoy get. Vote!
Does history repeat? Richard Nixon had a "secret" plan to end the war in Vietnam. Mr. Romney has a "secret" plan to boost the economy. Those of us over 50 remember the consequences of Nixon's plan. Pity those under 40 particularly the working male demographic have been dumbed down to the point where they are swallowing Mr. Romneys garbage!
What projections?
Because we all believe that these changes will really occur?
An open letter to undecided voters:
An open letter to undecided voters:
No past President would slingshot us backwards faster and farther. This is not the change we need. We want to continue moving forward. How difficult is that to understand for some Fox folks? Practically impossible.
Yes, Obama shares your values if you have none.
Romney is all about "big change" alright. If you don't like his position, he'll change it, daily, hourly, heck, even in the same sentence.
When Romney talks about 'big change,' he is talking about 10,000 bucks.

Dammit Mitt! Sh^t creeks current hasn't changed! You just turned around from the bow of the boat to face the stern! Thataway Mitt! No! T'other Mitt! Noo! Not you Mitt! The Boat! The Boat! Ahhhhh!.. Ummmmm, aaaaaaaa, ummmmmmmmmmmmmm.........................................................
God please save us from Robme/Lyin' Ryan, and their "big change"!!! . . . a BIG CHANGE to:
* Ryan's "person-hood amendment"
* a fertilized egg having the same 14th Amendment rights to *Life & Property* as the woman in whose uterus that egg sits
* that fertilized egg having at least the same, if not greater rights, than the woman in whose body it sits;
* all abortion outlawed & criminalized - government "pregnancy police"
* a return the the coat-hanger & back-alley abortions of 40+ years ago*vaginal probes*
* if you carry a pregnancy to term, after you have been raped, in *most states* the rapist has the same parental rights as you, the mother, and you will be "negotiating" with your rapist over child support & visitation for the next 18 years. . . . WIC, food stamps & TANF will be gone
DID YOU KNOW THIS???
~ if you are female, there is a 25% likelihood that you will be raped at some point in your life
~ 80,000 rapes result in pregnancy every year
~ nearly half of all rapes happen to children, under age 18
***WOMEN (AND THE MEN WHO CARE ABOUT THEM) PLEASE VOTE DEM! ***
***YOUR LIFE - YOUR SISTER'S/DAUGHTER'S/GRAND-DAUGHTERS - DEPEND ON IT! ***
O & JOE!!! 4 MORE, PLEASE!
Nice letter - Kaybee Toys. I'm a partisan but I still can't see how someone can be undecided when there are such differences in policy. Even despite Romney's cunning strategy to muddy the waters and "etch a sketch" how does his radical changes in philosophy/statements not send off alarm bells.
By "big change", does he mean paying for a cup of coffee with a hundred dollar bill since that's the smallest he has on him?
Mitt's change is just as President Obama said during the debate: banking and finances back to the 1920's, social issues back to the 50's, and foreign policy back to the Cold War.
That's not change, that's regression. We can't compete in the 21st century if Romney walks us backward into the early and mid-20th century.
Everyone here on this board is afraid of "big change" it seems like.
I guess that would mean that people here would have to get up and get a job, since their unemployment benefits would run out when Romney becomes president. Which is a change from those who troll the boards here quite often.
Big change to me means a better economy (Obama's "change" and "direction" is going downward, he keeps preaching that Romney will "go the other way" and "go backwards" from the direction Obama is going. Well, I want to go backwards from Obama's vision because Obama's vision is free falling from the sky!).
Big change to me means a better education system that will not allow unions to dictate if children gets an education or not! Don't believe me? Then look at Chicago!
Big change to me means a stronger leader. Obama's weak leadership not only is shown on the domestic front, but on the world stage also! How many times have Obama screwed up relations with our allies in favor of those who's interests are against ours? Bengazi is just an example!
Big change to me means better medical care. Obama's health care plan is just a glorified insurance scheme. It will not only increase the cost of medicine, but also decrease the total care we recieved before he came into office and increase the total time it takes to see a doctor! Don't believe me? Look at Canada!
Big change to me means a complete reversal of ideology that we have today. Man up for our own mistakes, don't blame others for our own situations and our own ideas. The response should not be "It's Bush's fault!"
I am hoping for big change come November 6th!
IT'S OK FEISTY (JEN PSAKI) THE ASS SWEATS WILL GO AWAY AFTER NOVEMBER 6TH.
IT'S JUST A SYMPTOM OF DESPERATION....
BYE BYE OBUMBO!!!!
Dude, you guessed wrong. Try again, without assuming.

So much for Liberal media. Has anybody noticed how MSNBC is covering the Romney Ryan speeches with live coverage every day of the same speech, while the Obama campaign is getting nothing. Most of the news is about what Romney thinks as well. Yet nobody is calling him out on his fallacious lies, liberal media my a**.
"Big change"? You betcha, Mitt! But THIS change is going to be Bush III" ... but on steroids. Some of the "changes" which come immediately to mind, just going by Mr. Romney's own words and promises during the primaries and general election campaign:
* Goodbye thousands of lives of American service men and women. Preemptive first strike and War with Iran; and a probable painful conflagration in the Middle East because Iran is not impotent like Iran and Afghanistan, but has the military might to hit back HARD!
* Goodbye to our already strained and tenuous relationships with Russia and China
*Goodbye to our guarantee of health care coverage "On Day 1," before any discussion about any sort of replacement has even started!
* Goodbye to Social Security and Medicare as we know it, and have come to rely on for our old age security and well being.
* Goodbye to middle class/middle income tax deductions while the wealthy class will be rewarded with the elimination of capital gains taxes and estate taxes and grow vastly more wealthy as millions more American families slip into poverty.
* Goodbye Roe v Wade and equal protections for LGBT Americans, minorites, the aged and disabled. Appointment of at least 1 more very "conservative" Supreme Court justice: Goodbye to women making their own sexual health decisions; goodbye women's control over their own bodies.
* Goodbye to American worker's protections. Goodbye to collective bargaining rights. The only rights will be held by business owners and corporations.
* Goodbye Environmental Protection Agency. Goodbye clean air and clean water.
* Goodbye Securites and Exchange Commission and regulations and oversight of the Wall Street robbers.
* Goodbye Dept. of Energy and protective regulation of energy producers. Goodbye alternative energy research.
* Goodbye Department of the Interior and Bureau of Land Management. Wholesale rape and exploitation of public lands by the corporations and plutocrats.
* Goodbye Department of Education. Goodbye American public schools classrooms with less than 35-40 kids per classroom.
* Goodbye Civil Rights, equal rights and voting rights protections.
* Goodbye public access to and protections of our public lands as the strip mining and oil and gas exploration in every corner of America destroys our last pristine preserves of unspoiled beauty. Millions of acres of our Federal lands sold off to the wealthy for exploitation of timber and mineral exploitation.
* Goodbye scientific research funding, and goodbye climate change research as Congress just legislates climate change out of existence.
Oh, and I almost forgot ....
* Goodbye Big Bird. Goodbye National Public Radio & Goodbye Public Broadcasting as we know it.
Hmmmm, big change? Then why is everything the same old tired crap we got from Bush? It really has nothing to do with unemployment benefits which no one would have needed in the first place if Bush had not trashed the economy. No, Romney's "big change" involves the same old thing - reduce taxes, spend more and count on the economy growing enough to pay for all of it. Sorry, been there, done that, still paying for it!
Big change to me means a better education system - but not to Romney. Have you read Romney's education plan on his site? Just what concrete ideas does it espouse? None! Lots of words, lots of lofty goals, not one solid action anywhere.
Here's Romney's plan for higher ed:
Strengthen And Simplify The Financial Aid System. How? By strengthen you mean...? I am all too afraid I know what he means by simplify. George W. Bush simplified the mortgage loan process in an effort to spur loans to minorities... that led to a housing bubble and millions defaulting on loans because no one had to be qualified for a loan anymore.
Welcome Private Sector Participation Instead Of Pushing It Away. Now this one definitely needs some explanation. The implication is clear - presently, the system is pushing away private sector participation... how? And how will you welcome private sector participation? By making sure everyone pays big money for every hour of class? Yeah, that will guarantee private sector participation, all right - while making already expensive higher education completely unaffordable for all but the rich!
Replace Burdensome Regulation With Innovation And Competition. I am just all too afraid I know what this one entails. Once again, I am reminded of George W. Bush - from one of Bush's mortgage speeches in 2002:
“One of the major obstacles to minority home-ownership is financing. Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac (who I will bail out in 2008) have committed to provide more money for lenders, they committed to meet the shortage of capital available for minority home-buyers. Freddie Mac just began 25 initiatives around the country to dismantle barriers (like income requirements) and create better opportunities for home-ownership. One of the programs is designed to help families with bad credit histories to qualify for home ownership loans (by faking their income) . You don’t have to have a lousy home for first time home-buyers. You put your mind to it the first time low income home buyer can have just as nice a house as anyone else (till those adjustable rates go up). “
The "burdensome regulations" that George W. Bush eliminated in the mortgage industry led to the housing bubble and what we now call the "Bush Recession". What new hardships do Romney's policies point to. In five years will we be talking about the "Romney Recession". Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? The Romney Recession!

There will be a lot of change, none of it for the good (of the common people) and whens that's done he'll run for re-election promising that he'll get it done with four more years. After that, the last one left in the country after China repossess' it please turn off the lights.
We don't need to worry about Al-Qaeda, we've got Romney/Ryan.
Wake up America! Vote Democratic and vote out the Tea Party/ Koch/GNOP.
I was a beneficiary of the economic safety net that the Republicans are out to destroy. In the mid-seventies I moved to California, jobless, because my son had a birth defect-related need for surgery. Although I had health insurance I needed temporary financial assistance. I was given food stamps and general assistance (welfare) for a couple of months during which time I became employed and began paying taxes. I finished graduate school on the GI bill and advanced. Long story short, I payed substantial taxes over the next four decades on family incomes in many cases well over $100,000, and now pay taxes on my IRA savings as I withdraw them.
Republicans campaign on the notion that "takers" are lazy and undeserving of assistance. I am proof that the economic safety net works. Those who would destroy that safety net are uninformed (lazy), mean-spirited, divisive and undeserving of our votes. Obviously, we need constant vigilance to ensure that our economic safety net is not creating a class of takers, but accusations that current recipients of aid, especially during this economically trying time are disgusting.
Perhaps he means "big pocket change" because that would be all he left us with.
Yeah, Romney is the candidate of “big change” alright….. He changes his position on every issue so often; it can only be described as “big change”.
Anybody that actually trusts this pathological liar must be brain dead.

Romney 2012
So what is President Obama’s solution? He is actually president, not just a candidate, and therefore in a position to do something. His approach is explicitly detailed in his 2013 budget proposal, available on www.budget.gov. This is an excellent source since nothing says more about a president’s priorities than his budget. It is not just a campaign document, it is what he actually proposed to Congress.
The document is rather long, but a helpful summary table can be found on page 205, presenting the projected revenues, outlays and deficits for a 10-year period. It is frightening. It projects deficits totaling $6.6 trillion over 10years, starting at $901 billion dipping to a low of $575 billion, then rising to $704 billion. That’s right: the deficit actually starts increasing again, digging us deeper into the hole. Clearly the president has no credible plan for reducing, much less eliminating, the deficit. This is not leadership.
Our nation’s economy is its most valuable asset with everyone’s livelihood depending on it. President Obama may prefer to focus on other important problems such as health care, education and the environment, but without a robust economy to generate the money to pay for his programs they are just empty promises. America can do better.
Harry Dolan served on the Marshfield Board of Education from 2004 to 2009 including three years as chairman of the Finance Committee.
And kids just because Obama team gives you a ride to vote you don't have to vote for him remember that.

Obama/Biden 2012
Who would someone going in and making "big changes" as to be unsettling? It makes me nervous to hear a goof ball like Mitt Robme say something like that.
No thank you Mr. Robme. I'll keep the President we have. He does good work, and he's an honest man that we know we can trust.
Obama/Biden 2012
To EENGINEER--If the words Romney Recession has a nice ring to it then how about Romney, Ryan, Recession. The three R's would stand for Romney-Ryan-Recession.
As far as remarks that President Obama makes about Romney and some people don't like it or they think it is below our President to make. Let me just say that Romney can run all over and LIE about President Obama, and change his positons on every issue. I see nothing wrong with picking on remarks that Romney makes.
And one other thing. I think the Attorney General needs to look into those voting machines that the Romney's bought. I think this is a conflict of interest.
From Pennsylvania, lets vote Obama/Biden 2012
Why arn't Romney's suporters like Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld out campaining for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan? After all, they have alot to gain if he is elected.
And what is this I see that Romney wants one term? How can he get anything done when he said it would take 8 years or 12 to fix the budget.
Obama/Biden 2012
""The Obama campaign doesn't have a plan," Romney said. "The Obama campaign is slipping because he's talking about smaller and smaller things despite the fact that America has such huge challenges and that this is such an opportunity for America, and that's why on November 6th I'm counting on Ohio to vote for big change!""
This another lie Obama does have a plan. Romney has a plan that was Bushes plan, Reagan's plan. Look where that has taken us. This man is complete and udder phony.
Honest men don't spend MILLIONS of dollars hiding their college records
Something to think about
David Noah The president has the right to call mitt Romney a liar if that is what he is. The president has the right to call mitt Romney a flip-flopper if that is what he is. Our politicians need to be held accountable for the words they speak and that includes the president as well. By comparison Romney lies and flip-flops much much more than Obama ever thought about doing. WE DON"T NEED ANYMORE BIG CHANGES RIGHT NOW. When Romney says that he will create 12 million jobs, He is lying, The economy will create 12 million jobs no matter who is president. IF you don't believe it check it out, It's true. This man is a complete phony, he is talking head that says nothing except what people want to hear. He does not stand behind his word. After all business is business and the end justify the means. What a crock.
Randy Honest men don't withhold showing their tax returns for the last 10 years. It is clear that they both have something to hide. Quit your arguement all one sided. It does not work. Something to think about
I think it needs to be stated daily - none of the teabagging trolls above have given any specifics as to why they feel Miss Mittsy is the better choice. No ideas, no specifics...not even a heartfelt assumption.
After reading the disgusting posts about Colin Powell's endorsement and the vapid "I hate Obama" here, my only conclusion is that the teabaggers are completely racist. Period. They will (obviously) lie, cheat and steal to remove the man from the White House that they think is of an inferior race. They will whore themselves to the Mormon (completely against their evangelical brainwashing) simply because they hate African Americans more than they hate Mormons.
Miss Mittsy panders to these neo-nazi evangelical scum and it is a refelction of his own character. He will either sell his morality for a vote, or his beliefs correspond with theirs. If he was half a man, he would stand up to this trash, but he won't. Miss Mittsy is a liar and a coward.
Yeah. Big change, alright. Mittsy doesn't even know who he's sold his soul to.
Romney's campaign is like that old schoolyard comeback: "I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you," except this is how Romney must say it: "You're rubber, I'm glue, whatever you say ... I use in my campaign."
Point taken but

What is it about Romney articles that the Liberal spammers find so attractive. They blow up every thread that even mentions his campaign. They must be really scared, especially with the recent poll results.
Randy, The point in wanting Romneys actual returns is to answer questions about Bain and when he left. Summary doesn't do that.
John, which "recent polls results" are you referring to? The ones marketed on Fox News that fail to mention that they randomly survey only conservative voters in certain regions or districts, plus or minus a few points?
Instead of polls, I rely on other sources in prediction-making.
How Gamblers -- History's Most Accurate Election Forecasters -- Are Betting on 2012
As of this writing, betting at the three biggest prediction markets is as follows: Betfair has Obama with a 64 percent chance to win to Romney's 36 percent; Intrade has the president at 58 percent; and the Iowa Electronic Markets have the president at 59 percent. Oddschecker shows bookmakers to be even more bullish on Obama.
"Gamblers have more experience with cheaters. They take voter fraud into their metrics. Polls don't. Nor do polls take into account intangibles like how each state's secretary of state factors in or systems within a state designed to eliminate voters."
In 2008, 90 percent of gamblers correctly forecast an Obama victory. They were also on the money with 48 of 50 states.
Gamblers' success in this arena is nothing new. In presidential races beginning in 1896, the New York Times, Sun, and World provided daily betting quotes. The papers' sources were bookies who had agents at every stump and whistle-stop to gather intel and quantify popular sentiment. Between 1884 and 1940, the bettors erred on just one of sixteen elections, Wilson's 1916 upset of Hughes.
Ironically, polls sent gamblers to the sideline. "Prior to Gallup's introduction in 1936, newspapers had little to report about the election horse race other than the betting markets," Strumpf explains. "When scientific polls came along, newspapers had something to report other than markets they were oftentimes uncomfortable with."

I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. ... corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed." 80 top CEOs tell Obama, Romney to slash social spending
By David Walsh
26 October 2012
The chief executives of 80 large US corporations have issued a “Deficit Manifesto,” calling on the next president to “fix America’s debt” by making substantial “changes in the federal budget.” The statement was published by the Wall Street Journal on Thursday.
Behind the innocuous phrases is the demand by some of the richest individuals in America for the slashing of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security and a general offensive against the working class.
The CEOs’ letter, signed by a “Who’s who” of CEOs at giant US banks, financial firms and industrial corporations, calls on politicians to acknowledge “that our growing debt is a serious threat to the economic well-being and security of the United States.” It calls for Washington to adopt “an effective plan [to] stabilize the debt as a share of the economy, and put it on a downward path.”
The plan should be enacted now, “but implemented gradually to protect the fragile economic recovery and to give Americans time to prepare for the changes in the federal budget.” In other words, their proposals would worsen life for wide layers of the population, who need to “prepare” themselves for a drastic decline in their conditions.
Making no reference to the trillions of dollars made available to the banks during the financial bailout nor the trillions more that go toward imperialist war and the global defense of their economic interests, the company heads insist that the target of a plan to “fix America’s debt” should concentrate on the programs that assist tens of millions of working people, the poor and retirees.
They argue that a plan must “Reform Medicare and Medicaid, improve efficiency in the overall health care system and limit future cost growth” and “Strengthen Social Security, so that it is solvent and will be there for future beneficiaries.” These are code words for gutting these programs, which the wealthy consider an intolerable drain on resources…

Big Change? I think he wants to be America's first boss. He wants to turn American into a Corporation. He is right about change. America will change into China, where the government tells everyone where to work, where to live, where to go to school, what to learn, and how your wife will bow to your every whim. His church still believes Polygamy is the right thing but at this point they understand the majority of American's don't feel that way so until he is able to change things (become President) he and his church will live by our laws. He believes Latin America is the answer to our success and the reason he feels that way is because with his Mexican families help he wants to turn Mexico into China. A country we can exploit. A country where there are no labor laws and a man will still work for $5 a day. There is one thing I like about him I will admit, he won't give Driver's License to illegals. There is just one problem with that though; Driver's License is a state authority not Federal. Where he came off saying that in one of the debates blew me away. Does he really think we are that stupid? Oops I really didn't' want to get into the way he thinks of us but since I did, does he really think we are so stupid we don't know Iran has beaches? Does he really think not raising taxes is the way to go?
http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Blogs/Fiscal-Cliff-Notes/2012/10/25/CEOs-Pressure-Congress-to-Make-Debt-Deal.aspx#page1
He has already signed a pledge to Grover Norquist not to raise taxes so I don't see how he can fix our debt.
Does he really plan on day 1 to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act? What is going to happen to all those people that have pre-existing conditions? How about the people in the hospital that will lose their insurance? With out this health care police who will pay for these insurance policies if insurance companies decide to keep them on a plan, remember it's funded by the policy. I would like to know how Governor if you can call him that plans to lower the price of coal so it is more compatible with natural gas and then convince the energy companies to buy it. One other thing about coal, if the price drops does the price drop also to China? It seems China is buying up a lot of our coal so it would seem to me if anything we would want the price of coal to remain high. I love the new Google pictures it just added to its maps, you know the ones that show all the mountain top removal that is going on to get at the coal. It really makes such beautiful landscape.
Wouldn't that just be the kiss of death? Hasn't anyone else noticed just how absent most of the "movers and shakers" from the last Republican administration are? The last thing Republicans want to do is remind voters of the f'ing mess they left the country in at the end of the last Republican administration. But I remember... and I am gonna remember for a loooong time!
Be aware that most of Bush/Cheney's advisors and staff have been hired by Mitt Romney. The very same people behind the scenes, who didn't get nearly the kicking around they deserved for their asinine economic and foreign policy advice to Bush, are now advising Romney. You can expect more wars that benefit only Halliburton and another, deeper recession as Republicans double-down on stupid with their "voodoo economics".
I voted for Bush the first time. I voted against Bush the second time when I saw just how everything he ran on was the exact opposite of what he did. Oddly enough, Romney is running on pretty much the same platform that Bush did - hell, with the same advisors that Bush had! I expect we will get the same results if he is elected.
There is no change. Romney is and always has been a lying weasel. Take the recently released court testimony, keeping in mind he is under oath:
At a Staples board meeting in September 1987, Romney and fellow board members agreed to set the value of the company’s common shares at one-tenth of one cent, the transcript shows. Romney acknowledged on the stand that he previously testified that he believed the value of the common shares at that time was roughly $1.30 a share.
“You voted in favor of that, did you not?” an attorney for Sullivan Stemberg asked of the board vote for a one-tenth-of-a-cent valuation. “But you’re telling the court that on the same day the share was really worth $1.30?”
“That’s correct,” Romney responded.
“Now, was it your true belief when you voted on September 22 that the value of the stock was one-tenth of one cent?” the lawyer asked.
Romney answered: “It was my true belief that one could justify one-tenth of one cent as the value of the common stock but that the stock was probably worth more than that.”
They voted to say the company was worth 1300 times less than it actually was, so that the CEO could appear to have less money. This was simply a scam to make sure his assets were devalued.
Romney was called in the divorce trial to testify about the likely value of Staples, and some have alleged that he gave a misleadingly low estimate, which helped Tom Stemberg, a friend, avoid paying a larger settlement.
Romney says this is nothing at all. I say that a board of directors that conspire to purposely represent a company at a ridiculously low value in order to cheat a woman out of a fair divorce settlement is fraud.
That's what you would get with Wrongme. Backroom, closed door deals, cheating and lying.
WAPO/ABC POLL: INDEPENDENT VOTERS MOVING TO ROMNEY
The latest Washington Post/ABC tracking poll shows voters moving toward Romney since the third debate:
As Romney hits 50, the president stands at 47 percent, his lowest tally in Post-ABC polling since before the national party conventions. A three-point edge gives Romney his first apparent advantage in the national popular vote, but it is not one that is statistically significant with a conventional level of 95 percent confidence.
Results from the tracking poll were first released Monday evening, and had Obama at 49 percent, and Romney at 48. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the results were flipped, with Romney at 49 and the president at 48. All of the results are among likely voters.
Two of the four nights reported here include interviews conducted entirely after Monday's debate in Boca Raton
THE POLL SHOWS ROMNEY WINNING INDEPENDENTS BY 19 PERCENTAGE POINTS!!!
Should that advantage stick, it would be the sharpest tilt among independents in a presidential election since Ronald Reagan's 1984 landslide win. (Reagan won independent and other unaffiliated voters 63 to 36 percent, according to the exit poll). Obama won them by eight in 2008.
BYE BYE OBUMBO!!!
...
Romney will bring change all right and many of you posters have already elegantly said how this change will "benefit" the middle and working classes...............I can't add anything other than to hope there is a God that will punish all of the Romney lies and Ryan hate for women
"Big Change"? Well, he's right about that. there's a "Big Change" in his positions depending on who he thinks is listening.

Yeah. Mitt the Big Change...
he is too big...because he wants to get rid of BIG Bird..that's big.
He doesn't care about the bottom 47%...he is a BIGOT - Many GOP candidates are like that, but no one dares to say it..that's BIG chaange.

Would that be ANYTHING at all like Nancy Peelousy saying "You'll have to pass the bill to see what's in it." ??
Byron - now be fair - you can go to his website and see the plans someone posted for him that he may or may not read prior to the election. But don't expect him to discuss them because, well, he actually has no clue what they say!
Obama/Biden 2012
I guess that is why Obama has been tanking in the polls since his 1st debate and an over capacity crowd of 12,000 people in Denver showed of at Red Rocks Amphitheater to enthusiastically endorse Romney.....don't worry it will be all over soon......just read a poll.........any poll......if Obama is so good....why isn't he leading the polls instead of fading away in them?
ElectionDay - try having someone read them to you - correctly. President Obama is gaining in the polls every day!

I am really going to enjoy your lack of "snarkiness" after 11/6/12 assuming of course that you actually find something genuinely CONSTRUCTIVE to do rather than hang around here all day................
A lot of people on here aren't from Ohio. I've lived in Toledo, Mt. Gilead, Marion, Columbus, Cleveland, Youngstown, and Cincinatti. I've voted for the Democratic candidate for President since Adlai Stevenson.
It's time to get rid of Obama. Sorry.

Romney admits he opposes President Obama's support for the Veterans Jobs Bill that Republicans are blocking.
Romney admits he opposes President Obama's Farm Bill that is vital to farmers in American. Republicans are blocking.
Romney admits he opposes President Obama's Wind Energy that is vital to Iowa and Colorado.
Romney admits he opposes President Obama promoting natural gas. US companies are building a natural gas to diesel conversion plant that will open in 2014. Thanks to President Obama's support for greener energy and using technology. The plant can produce diesel for far less than than oil converted to diesel.
It's a good thing President Obama supports science and math. Without science and math, this natural gas to diesel plant in the US would not be built.

Mitt Romney"I'm the candidate for BIG CHANGE". Here is one of his "Big changes", it is a quote from a public address he made on Feb.23rd of this year; " If I become the President of the United States, I will curb the practice we have in this country of giving union bosses an unfair advantage in contracting. One of the first things I will do, actually on day one, is I will end the government favoritism toward unions and contracting on federal contracts, and end project labor agreements, and I will fight to repeal Davis-Bacon. I also of course will make sure that workers have the right to a secret ballot, and I will fight for right-to-work laws." He is gonna be one BUSY BOY on day one isn't he? The ONLY thing right-to-work laws do, is allow employers to pay their workers whatever they damn well please, they don't have to pay them even minimum wage if they don't want to. OH YEAH, that will REALLY get the economy moving again, won't it? I know that alot of you on the right are probably cheering, because of what he stated about the unions, but let me give you a reminder, and you can take it or leave it. It is because of the UNIONS, that we have a 40 hour work week, it is because of the UNIONS, that we have saftey in the workplace, it is because of the UNIONS, that we get paid holidays and vacation time, it is because of the UNIONS, that we are paid FAIR WAGES (most of the time). It was the Unions that FOUGHT for all of these rights for the American workers. The unions are why we have these rights today, and this CLOWN wants to get rid of them! Mitt Romney, CLEARLY the wrong choice for America.
Mitt changes his postions everyday so whats the big deal?
See where Robme . . .
REFUSED TO CHANGE . . .
was petty . . .

"Deliberations about the policies, including dozens of exchanges about the marriages and births of individual families, are recounted in e-mails and legal memos sent between the governor's office and lawyers at the Department of Public Health, which oversees the Registry of Vital Records."
A vote for R & R is a vote for a government that micro-manages YOUR LIFE!
VOTE: O & JOE - 4 MORE, PLEASE!!
At a early Halloween party last night I did something I KNEW would be a lesson in frustration. I joined in on a discussion on why these 5 people were proclaiming at anyone within ear shot as to why they were voting for Romney.
I could not get 1 intelligent response from them other than "FOR CHANGE". NOT ONE of them could outline WHAT change other than almost getting one of them to blurt out that they wanted a white man in the office. He caught himself mid sentence, and said that if he said what he wanted to say that I would probably be offended.
Know what? NOTHING I can hear from a Republican can offend me anymore. I have heard it all.
I just think it is funnier than hell that anyone can be so prejudice in a group of like individuals but not have the balls to share their views with those OUTSIDE the click. I really tried to press him to finish his statement and even asked him to lift up his pants leg to see if his while robe was showing.
And this wasn't in the south unless you count the south being Southern California. Most at the party were very comfortable in life to so it just helps prove that money does not relate to intelligence.
I at least pissed him off. Goal accomplished.
God help our country if this clowns candidate wins office.
I think the change Romney is talking about is changing his lucky magic underwear he', refuses to change till after the election. They were lucky for him during the Rethuglican nomination, why change now.
Romney is out there saying he is for the middle class and people really believe it?? Give me a break people. He is all about wealth and his wealthy friends period. He is not there for the middle class. He and his friends wants to bring their billions home from overseas tax free. They want us the middle class to compete with wages they pay overseas. Can you pay your house payment, car payment, electricity, taxes etc on what kind of wages they pay overseas in some cheep country?? Romney wants to get elected and he will say whatever he has to say to get your vote. Now come on, don't be so stupid and give the wealthy your vote so they can take away all the different programs and we pay more taxes as they celebrate. We must vote for the person who has our best interests at heart and that is PRESIDENT OBAMA.
Obama/Biden 2012
I guess Mitt and the neocons would represent a "big change"... from four years of our allies liking us again, from dictators being deposed without American troops involved, from gay, African American, Asian and Hispanic Americans being made to feel on equal footing with the majority, from the auto industry being treated as important to the whole country, from four years of a functional administration, without scandals, infighting or disgruntled staffers leaking stuff. It's been a nice change from the Bush administration, I must say.
God, Amy, you are so right. President Obama has made such great strides in cleaning up America's image after 8 years of Bush and the Republicans. Unfortunately, Romney and the rest of the Republicans are already causing a gray pallor to envelope this nation. I fear that with a Romney presidency all that President Obama has done with respect to our standing among other countries will go completely down the drain. That in itself will weaken this country and put us at great risk of being attacked.
Amy & Alaska Girl ...
Not sure if you saw this yesterday but is very fitting for Amy's statement about our allies.
http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/10/23/163473712/if-the-world-picked-u-s-president-obama-would-win-by-a-landslide
Looks like the only country that likes Romney is Pakistan! What the he!! is wrong with the people in this country putting him anywhere close to the President?
Obama/Biden 2012
If you want to believe we can apologize our way as a means of foriegn policy, then yes, Obama has cleaned up our image and now we are the weaker nation.
Layton ... I think they oversampled me ... :-)
Paladin, that apology bs is so old, it's staler than your party! 100% totally untrue as well. You want to chit chat about foreign policy? Seems Mitt totally agreed with pretty much everything the President stated on Monday.
Look at the poll I posted above. We're not weak. The Republican party is.
Obama/Biden 2012
BCWC - you always make me laugh! ;-)
If you want this country to be blown out of the water, then vote for Obama. Because a vote for Obama is a sure vote for more violence against this country from those who believe he is weak.
Paladin..Apology my A$$. If you are such a patriot please report to your nearest USMC recruiting station and sign up for combat duty in the AFG. Oh wait I forgot, you are a republican like Mr. Romney and his 5 sons who are beneath serving in the US Armed Forces OR the Peace Corps for that matter.
What do progressives fight against? Fox News, the crazed Christian far-rights, 98% radio station rush-types, fear, fear and more fear, racism, greed, Koch Brothers, hatred, Americans for Prosperity, Diebold voting machines, smear campaigns, voter suppression, Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell and Boehner, $$$$$$$$$$$$$in politics, elitist uber rich, ...hearts of stone
Never give up the fight for righteousness, honor, goodness, integrity and fairness for all in politics.
Thank you Obama for believing you can help all Americans regardless of color, race, creed, religion, sex, preferences or socio-economic level and support of the 99% !!!!
give it a rest Torp. Patriotism isn't defined by military service. So Torp we're both Marines and have differing opinions and views politically. You gonna call me unpatriotic? Go for it, come on do it.
Did you have a problem with Bill Clinton not serving and dont give me this Rhodes scholar crap either
No Prob CA..But let's not forget that Obama never Apologized and that was central to Paladin's argument. The problem is that many conservatives on this site have called the President un-American, treasonous, and have gone so far as to cal for his impeachment. As far as Clinton is concerned his views on The War were well publicized and I would refer you to letter he wrote asking for a deferment AND his hour long interview with Ted Kopple on Nightline before the election. Clinton was honest about his views on the war. Romney or Bush 2 not so much. That said, Is Bill Clinton any less of a Patriot than Bush or Romney?
Torpedo
I done that and Paladin is exactly correct with her statement.
Semper Fi Dumb A
RU..Done what? In the mess hall? Semper Fi back to you screw!
lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololo
Nice deflection but I never questioned anyones patriotism. including yours and past presidents/canidates.
seriously. well there's a no shlt sherlock for ya but tell me torp with that said how many have called Romney treasonous or W Bush? Calling for impeachment has nothing to do with unAmerican. Clinton was impeached, is he less than American? How many call to this day for Bush's imprisonment on war crimes and wanted his impeachment then? betcha all those things were by Liberal posters. you're pissin in the wind my friend
floridamom1: why is it that everyone forgets what party was in the Whitehouse when the worst attack on the nation took place. Here's a Hint: 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11.
Deciding not to go to war is not a sign of weakness, its a sign of intelligence. Something the Republican party is lacking.
CA- Don't recall anyone calling for Bush's impeachment, but even you have to concede that republicans love to wear the patriot mantle and call democrats unfriendly to the military which is simply not true. look at the funding for the VA Hospital System and specifically how many billets existed for the treatment PTSD from 2004-thru 2008 and compare it from 2009-2012. The Clinton Impeachment was political theater instigated by radical conservatives and a waste of resources. No one really cares about that anymore. The fact that you seem to paint all "liberal" posters with the same broad brush speaks to the close mindedness on the part of some of the more radical conservative posters on this site. I never called Romney treasonous. I do believe he is a hypocrite.
Are you going to call Colin Powell's endorsement of the President rascist? Just askin.
WTF?
because all Liberals are the same. There is a difference between Liberal and Democrat.
war crimes yadda yadda yadda.
its a small issue dude. I mean that is all you have and this is all Obama has then he FAILED. Because there is more to this country then just us Vets. There is more to this country than just Gays or blacks or women. These are all the things LIBERALS like to break people down into and champion for their 'cause'.
I am betting that the Republicans are going to cheat in this election any way they can. That is why Romney says that they have their own data and that he is going to win.
Colin Powell is a soldier and is thruogh with the chickenhawk republicons. Powell's chief of staff is a life long republican and is voting for Obama also.
Soldiers will not follow chickenhawks like Romney.
Romney proposes big change - that's why he agreed with the president so many times during the last debate.
Romney is talking about the economy where Obama has clearly FAILED !
They can only complain because they have nothing to stand on and they stand for nothing.
It WOULD be a big change going back to the Bush years. Do you really want to re-live those days all over? War, greed, and stupidity would rule the day once again.
17 out of 24 of Romney's advisers worked for Bush and supported the Iraq was and their easter egg hunt for WMDs, even though they knew they didn't exist.
It shows that Mitt Romney has class when he can give credit where credit is due. The fact that Obama just glared at him the whole time with obvious distain, proves that Romney is the better man. And, Obama wouldn't give credit to anyone but himself for anything.
floridamom1
That Obama "death stare" was awesome! I am one viewer who thought the President won the first debate, but, then I was listening to the substance of what was discussed and didn't much care for Romney's aggression, which I found unpersuasive. Most people seemed to think Romney's aggresion signaled strength, so I guess that's why Obama looked at him, instead of down throughout the second and third debates. It also creeped out Romney : )
floridamom1- not only is Mitt not a better man, he is barely a man at all!
Obama/Biden 2012
President Obama has created more jobs in less than 4 years than Bush did in 8, that's a fact.
Now, now, Jody. Let's all try to remember that Republicans don't like to deal in facts. It's in direct violation of the RNC platform.
That was constipation. He was trying to pass a little gas until the break.
Romney will delegate every decision to his VP and recycled Bush/Cheney advisors, because his mind will take at least 4 years to stabilize after all his flip flopping, etchasketching, gyrating and spinning at NASCAR engine rpm levels. He will be a FIGUREHEAD, and start the MONARCHY that republicans always wanted to rule the earth with. That is why Harry Reid hates him so much, being in the same church to think of him as their first pres. Maybe that is why the main Salt Lake City newspaper advises their readers to vote Obama/Biden.
Remember that Norquist said that they don't want a leader. They just want someone who can hold a pen.
What Norquist said has been one of the most frightening things I have ever in my life heard.
Obviously, you never heard Obama say he was going to redistribute the wealth.
You are correct, I have never heard Obama say he is going to redistribute the wealth.
One question. What ever happened to the Progressive Wing of the LDS Faith. Morris and Stu Udall come to mind here.
Well Jim...You might want to take a civics class. Every TAX you pay is a form of "wealth redistribution." I mean where do you think the money comes from to pay teachers, prosecutors, judges, public defenders, prison guards, roads, bridges, our military, cops, firefighters and other first responders. Jeeeez. Are you really that ignorant.
No, he will delegate most of his decisions to the Mormon Church Apostles (12 to be exact) who get their orders directly from God!
Let's look at it in context.
Here's the conversation between Joe (Sam) the Plumber (not actually a licensed plumber)and candidate Obama.
Source: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2008/10/spread-the-weal/
Gosh, Obama sounds like some secret socialist muslim kenyan scary guy who wants to take all your money and give it to the lazy black people and illegal immigrants. /snark
Seriously, do you think Romney would even have that lengthy a conversation with someone whose last name wasn't Adelson?
Rock on SailorGirlSoCal you got the goods today...they all seem to overlook the norquist statement!
w/grace - they love to pretend Norquist doesn't exist.
Obama/Biden 2012
They are scared to death of the looming fiscal cliff. Push them over that cliff! Why? Because going over that fiscal cliff frees the republicons from their party over country pledge to Emperor Norquist.
Only then will we get any real progress on our economy.
They both have been raising some big change...but congress will stay the same collegial and cooperative body no matter what. Either man will have scant "political capital" to spend and will be left with "small change" when the house flips again in 2014...
NOBODY-
Can bend the legislative body to his will!
NOBODY 2012
Thanks Governor, but I dont want to be propelled back into the dark ages. Keep your change.
When you consider that 17 and out Mitt's 24 foreign policy advisors are from the Bush administration, it's obvious that "change" means something entirely different to him.
War in Iran is "change" compared to war in Iraq and Afghanistan....isn't it?
Here's a quarter Mr. Romney. Go buy yourself a clue.
"Big Change!!"---but what we should be asking ourselves is "would it be for the better????"
In answer to your question: HELL, NO!
do you really have to ask yourself that question ? I think we already know what his priorities are and they do not include 47% of America - they only include 1% ultra rich
A resounding YES! 4 more years of Obama and this country will collapse entirely.
Mitts big change would be a Mormon theocracy - the very name of his church is LDS Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That actually means that eventually the U.S. will be ruled by the Mormon's and Jesus after Armageddon. Their founder, Joseph Smith tried to become President but was kiilled by a mob, Mitt's grandfather George Romney also tried to become President but lost to Nixon for the Republican nomination and now Mitt is trying to take the helm. Why doesn't he ever talk about his strange religion? Because he would NEVER have a chance, if people really knew the real truth of his ambitions. Read about the White Horse Prophesy. Read an article written by ex-Mormon James Martin and why he believes Mitt Romney should NEVER be President.
The craziest factoid from this election will be that many of that 47% will vote for Romney and the GOP. If it weren't for that bizarre phenomena this election would be over.
"floridamom" can you give us an example of one policy of Miss Mittsy's that you feel passionately about? After that, can explain how the President's position on that same policy will destroy the United States of America?
Can you, at least, do that? Can you provide documentation that doesn't come from Fox or the National Enquirer?
Yes, he is the candidate of BIG CHANGE. He is the changes we don't need - unless of course, you are Donald Trump.
timshelbp-1 - could he get Donald Trump to change that dead animal he wears on his head????
Obama/Biden 2012
You sure that thing is dead? It seems to be ever evolving!
Obama/Biden 2012
Aw hell yeah you'll see big change in his position from day to day!
Obama Biden 2012
Ask yourself this, if Mourdock is what Romney wants in the senate, who do you suppose he wants in the Supreme Court?
great logic - I can only imagine how bad it can get.
Roy Moore would probably be on the short list for a seat on that court. I wonder if Bork wants another shot at it. How about Judge Hatch, the AZ judge who blamed a victim who was groped by a very drunk off-duty cop in a Flagstaff bar?
Your imagination is exceeded only by the absurdity of your post.
On the chance that your post was directed at me, Jim, I really didn't think I needed to hang a snark tag there. While Romney might not tap judges that notorious, I have little doubt that he'd nominate judges who share their views.
John Bolton as Secretary of State is an actual possibility (the world shudders). And Stephen Hadley, well known neocon at Defense (or State) is another. If Romney prevails the Far Right is going to steer him around by the nose. They will be writing all of the legislation. And if you have been following what they have been doing since 2010, that's some really radical stuff. Should the GOP do slightly better than expected I truly believe we are also going to see them attempt anti-American hearings, McCarthy style. What a fiasco that would be!
He is the "Candidate of Change" alright, changing positions that is, but you can tell what is going on by those around him. The selection of Ryan shows where he is headed economically. That means the same old supply side, trickle down failure.
I truly believe whoever wins is going to enjoy a term with positive economic growth. It is that time on the business cycle for demand to rule. Unless you choke off the middle and throw the cycle into a lurch. That's why you hear all of the scare tactics. But no doubt I am voting for Obama. These Republicans are INSANE! And they never look deeper under the surface of a problem or issue.
I've finally narrowed it down to two possibilities, re: Mitt Romney's stance on the issues. Number 1. is: He is going to be a model in a fashion show and is undecided with respect to footwear. That's because he doesn't know which flip-flops to wear. Possibility number 2. is that he is really practicing for the gynnbastics team which is why he is doing so many flip-flops.
Of course, he is juggling all this business with flipping Burgers and selling them on E-Bay. He has actually outdone Burger King, because their Whoppers are nowhere near the size of his.
He, of course, wants to demonstrate to Environmentalists that he is one of theirs, so, Mitt actually recycles his Whoppers. The people from Politi-Facts throw his Whoppers in the garbage and he pulls them out, cleans them a little bit and uses them again. What a guy !!!!!! Is there a vaccine for him,........no, wait, I meant against him ??? ........oh well, whatever !!!!
If Romney gets in, all we will be left with is some loose change in our bank accounts.
Obama/Biden 2012!
IT all adds up.
Romney is for big change - no doubt about it - he changes his mind everyday and sometimes more than once in the same day. he is a sever conservative, no wait, a moderate, no no wait for it - bless pat he is a liberal. he loves women, trees, grits, cars, but he would throw a women in jail for a legal procedure, grits he probably never ate, trees get in the way of bain and cars - just let them go bankrupt - oh yeah, he is for big change alright
Relax everyone - go cast you vote and wait for the outcome. I think you will all be surprised what the people of America really want. Sorry to say it's not what you guys want - its what the people what - that's what living in America is all about. So stop writing terrible things about people who you don't even know. Just stop telling us how to vote
So, the people of America want their reproductive rights changed?
So, the people of America want the top 1% to have lower taxes?
So, the people of America want our jobs outsourced?
So, the people of America want to subject their women to "God intended Rape"?
So, the people of America want to fire more teachers, police, firemen?
So, the people of America want to engage in another war?
So, the people of America want to let thousands die off because they can't afford health care?
So, the people of America want America's poverty stricken children to not have access to food?
Wow. If those are the things that the people of America really want, Canada is looking like a great place to live, because MY America has gone away.
Asinine Post AK GIRL. Please provide the links to the diarrhea coming out of your mouth.
Alaska girl, you have no idea what you are talking about. Your beliefs about Romney are so misguided. If you actually believe a man who spent 10 years of his life working with the members of his congregation and elsewhere to feed and clothe them and make sure their needs were met, would actually want children to starve, or not have health care, you are grossly mistaken. You have no idea who Romney is or what he has done aside from the lies put forth by the media. Find out who he really is.
Paladin & floridamom - you two are so far out in right field you've totally left the park. You just spew drivel over and over again. Typical Republicans!
Obama/Biden 2012
floridafreakshow, I know all I need to know about Romney, Hell, the man has been running for president for going on six years now. I think those of us who choose to do independent research, not just watching FOX Entertainment or listening to Lush Limpballs, have learned and we know what a Romney presidency would do to this country. So, floridafreakshow, I guess you also support Mourdoch, just like Romney does? If you have a girl, and someday she is tragically brutally raped, you will support that child, because God intended for her to be raped and then become pregnant with an animal's child? Oh, and you will also be happy to let the Rape Daddy be a part of your life, your daughter's life, and your grandchild's life? Oh, happy days.
AlaskaGirl You Go Girl Stand up to these people that say the mormons are good. Their core beliefs are not good.
http:// cowboygrandpa.newsvine.com/_news/2012/10/14/14429358-what-does-mitt-romney-believe-in-comparison-to-christians-the-differences-are-vast-and-they-do-matter-to-true-christians
Yep. Hussein ran on hope and CHANGE.....yet, he keeps a buttload of Bush's policies in place.
And since Romney's foreign policy advisors are mostly from BushCo and we know that we're going to go back to those policies under a Romney presidency, WYFP with Obama?
By the way, Obama delivered loads of change. Americans can travel overseas and not have to disguise themselves as Canadians. We're winding down wars. More Americans have health coverage now. Between the Lilly Ledbetter act and the acknowldgement that women should be able to control their reproductive destinies, I'd say there's change and hope right there. We're not losing over 700,000 jobs a month now and that's an awfully nice change.
Someone obviously graduated from a liberal, government run school where education is the last thing on their minds.
FLO-mom, and sounds like someone else graduated from Rush Limbaugh U. LOL
Speaking of Lilly Ledbetter, Robme still does not know where he stands about equal pay for equal work. But he is all for exporting American jobs to China! How very patriotic of him..................
Romney and the GOP party of 'Big Changes' is dangerous to the American People. Say NO to the GOP Freak Show!!!
VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!
Funny, the bailout went almost exactly as Romney said it should other than the union vote-buying by giving preference to union Cadillac health plans for retirees ... while ignoring bankruptcy law, and screwing GM bondholders in the process !
Give Obama credit, he bought those votes and the U.S. taxpayers were stuck with the tab ... GM stock worth substantially less than what was paid for it !
Charlie,
Your infantile lack of understanding amazes me. With a bk, you clean out much of the unneeded fluff in any organization and restructure.
Throwing money at a company who has already proven they cannot survive as they are currently being run is F-ing ludicrous, yet Obama thinks we can throw sh%t on the wall and see what sticks.
And Joe Biden is not a "freak show?"
So, hardworking Americans are fluff? Hmm. Secondly, what you just said is exactly how Romney runs Bain Capital. He loads up a flailing business, or a start up, loads them up to the hilt in debt, then he strips all the assets, lays off most of the workers, strips pensions. And, then when he is finally done raping the company, he ships it overseas, all the while sitting in his cozy mansion counting all the green he made. Funny how the word "rape" seems to be associated with Republicans these days.
No, foridamom, Joe Biden is not a freak show, but you sure have shown that you are.
Only 12 days to go
From the article above:
“Good Grief, Charlie Brown!”
Tea Partiers like Siberia Sarah Palin have been mocking the President’s Hope and Change “Thingy” for four years.
Now the Romney Campaign has adopted the Presidents Rally slogan?
My lord they are so desperate.
The Governor’s new campaign strategy (today at least) is to do everything President Obama does.
The Governor’s slogan should be “NO CHANGE”, because if you vote for him, he’ll take every last dime you have.
It’s really getting pitiful for the Governor.
Then again, it’s the Governor.
Salud
Here Robert Reich explains what Robme means when he talks about change.
Robert Reich Explains How Mitt Romney Got Obscenely Rich | MoveOn.Org
He's the candidate of big business. This guy's so bought and paid for it's ridiculous. Soon to be the USK. United States of Koch.
Which is better than the United States of Soros? Or perhaps the United States of Jeremiah Wright? Or maybe the United States of Saul Alinsky? Or maybe the United States of enslaved freeloaders? Or maybe the United States of my way or the highway? I could keep on going......
There you go again, "floridafreakshow". You continue to show your tea party mentality.
OK, Floridamom, I'll play.
We can have the United Plutocratic States of the Cayman Islands, where your President is Mitt Romney, Kochsucker-in-Chief and whose VP is Grover Norquist. After all, Norquist, to whom most GOPers have sworn fealty, has stated that they don't need a leader. All they need is a guy who can hold a pen and sign their legislation.
How about the Plutocratic States of Adelson. You know who Sheldon Adelson is, right? He's the gazillionaire who has pledged 100 million dollars to get Romney elected and the tax break he stands to gain is well worth his investment.
How about the United States of the .1%, by and for the .1%?
How about the United States of "I got 98% of what I wanted"? Yes, that was Boehner.
Maybe we can have the United States of ALEC!
I could keep on going....
SailorGirl: you will have to give floridafreakshow a few minutes. She has to look up the word "fealty". Nice choice of words, by the way. Excellent post. I especially like "Kochsucker-in-Chief"! Funny girl!
Thanks, AlaskaGirl! ;-)
We need to know who the corrupt people around Romney are,and what they want from him.
Sheldon Adelson the Vegas casino mogul who is also the hardline moneyman for Netanyahu. He's looking for war with Iran, and bankrolling Romney to make sure it comes to that.
The Koch brothers, whose father, after a career helping Stalin and Hitler's oil industry, helped found and bankrolled the "John Birch"society. One of Americas most important fascist groups in the 50's and 60's. The brothers drank deep from the fascist spring, and in today's world helped found and bankrolled the Teaparty thugs. They never met a right-winger they didn't like.
All of these guys are looking for billions in payback if Romney wins. Romney promises to abolish the estate tax,cut capital gains taxes, give them a 20% tax cut. These guys will literally make a bundle if they can buy the election for Romney.
Yep. Hussein ran on hope and CHANGE but recently admitted that "you can't change Washington from the inside" .......read it again, Hussein admitted he was a FAILURE. There has been NO CHANGE with Hussein.
I bet you think you are really clever using the name Hussein - it is a way to twist the racist slur even harder. you know why people use inflammatory words like you do? I will tell you why. it is because there is no substance to their words, no intelligence in their position and certainly no class or character. so you go right ahead and tell everyone who you really are
for ever dem, why do you perceive "Hussein" as inflammatory? It IS his name, is it not? Do you berate the people who use "Willard??" Because, you see..... "Willard Mitt Romney" is his full name, preferring to be called "Mitt", yet a lot of people who post use "Willard." Conversely, "Barack Hussein Obama" is HIS full name, perferring to be called "Barack", yet I use "Hussein." IT'S THE SAME THING. Yet you choose to berate me and not the Willard-using folks.
No it is not. Spin it anyway you want, typical of your ilk. President Obama even mocked himself in last week's charity event in NYC and said he wished he could use his last name. He is aware, as are all of us, what the intention is when his middle name is used. One other thing, that man IS the President of the United States of America. Show some goddamned respect. Don't come back at me with some lame ass excuse that "we" don't show respect to Republican presidents. I am talking specifically to YOU and your actions.
Take your meds Alaska Girl, Oskar is right and you are wrong.
In the 2008 election, Barack Obama and the lamestream media that adore him avoided his middle name like the plague. On inauguration day, however, Barack Hussein Obama was sworn into office.
You libs continue to use the name "Willard" as a sign of intended disrespect, when he has been commonly referred to as "Mitt" for many years. You can't have it both ways without declaring yourself to be a total hypocrite.
AKGirl, so you're saying even Hussein is embarrased of his own name???? Then why, oh why, did he change it from Barry Soetoro to Barack Hussein Obama, if he is embarrased of it??? Did he change it for the sole reason of attacking anyone who uses it?
And, please tell me, I'm dying to know, what is "[my] ilk?" Since you know me soooooo well.
Oh, and AKGirl, I'll take that as a "no" that you don't berate the people who use "Willard." Double Standard, MUCH????????
The both of you are deluding yourselves, so I won't interrupt your little party of moronic statements. Jim, "take your meds"? Really. Is that the most your intellect will let you come up with? Oscar, I did not say that the president said he was embarrassed. I said he self mocked, and he did so because he knows that his middle name is often used in a derogatory manner intended to make similarities to Sadam Hussein. You know it, Jim knows it, I know it. And, Oscar, like I said, spin it anyway you want to.
Oh, and Oscar, here's a clue: I always call him Romney, he at this point does not deserve my respect in calling him by Mitt. Another clue: Romney IS NOT the President. Won't be.
Hey AlaskaGirl, MITT Romney is a good man and your constant nastiness toward him only shows what kind of person you are. At the last debate, Obama did nothing but attack attack attack while the only adult in the room, which was Mitt, acted like an adult and was able to have a conversation without constantly attacking Obama. Glaring, sneering, weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth - those are the very things Obama did in his last debate while Mitt sat perfectly calm and answered questions. Who do you want running the country? A whining, angry, glaring man, OR, a man who has the ability to remain calm under pressure and who won't spend his entire time blaming someone else for what happens on his watch. A vote for Romney is a vote for a calm and steady ship.
Wow, floridafreakshow, you certainly watched a completely different debate than I, and many others, did. You actually described Romney in the first debate with words like attacking, gnashing teeth, sneering. President Obama has shown true leadership. Romney wants to sell off the entire country.
AKGirl - We don't have to show respect to President Stinky (BO). Respect is earned, and Stinky......well, he's just Stinky and hasn't earned any! It's strickly because of the BO. We've been told it's racist to refer to him as BHO, so BO it is!
No matter where you go, BO *is* stinky! He's also a liar, and the BS (Barry Soetoro) king!
You're also mistaken about Smokin' Joe. He *is* a freakshow!
1st grader, huh? Does your mommie know you are playing on the internet?
You've been spot on AG- and they still haven't come up with any policy reasons they want Willard in...just empty insults and mindless personal slurs...juvenile comes to mind
Thanks, w/grace! I have to admit that I get a little tired trying to set these people straight! LOL Oh, well, we fight the good fight so that good may overcome evil, i.e., the Republican party.
Robme is a good man?????? You are unbelievable.
Here Robert Reich explains what robme is.
Robert Reich Explains How Mitt Romney Got Obscenely Rich | MoveOn.Org
Hussein: Status Quo is thy name. 2nd term, same as the 1st (i.e. FAILURE)
Hey Oscar!? You saying that Obama's second term is going to be a disaster. No doubt, there will be many who will agree.... As they eat their crow and worry about which idiot they can convince to run against Hillary.
I can see a Jeb Bush v. Hillary Clinton race in 2016
Hey campdog, if Romney gets in we will all be eating crow, literally, I mean legit literally. I hear that crow tastes a bit like chicken.
Hahahahahahahahaha! Oh, wait, are you serious?
If the Republican party ever nominates another Bush for president then I will truly believe that humans are devolving and that Republican intelligence, at least, is decreasing.
Romney says he is the canditate of "big change"
That is the most honest think out of Romney's mouth in months. I don't want "big change"
Obama/Biden 2012
romney wants the presidency because he has been trying for a lot of years, it is something he wants and he gets what he wants because he is romney - the presidency is something he wants to try out and he thinks he has a right to it.
Yes, I think the term is "egomaniac".
AlaskaGirl - egomaniac, narcissist, they both work!
Obama/Biden 2012
his wife said "its our turn".

And who has an entitlement mentality? I don't believe people are voting for HER...
Obama is a "Narcissist". He has been running for re-election since about 12 months after his inauguration. He refers to himself as "eye candy" on The View.... while many in America had to run for their Barf bags.
that is all he has been doing is the talk show circuit. The view was his way to woo women.
I about fell off my chair when Ann said that. I also wanted to smack her face when she referred to Americans as "you people" as if we are their minions. Screw that witch.
Jim, when I read your comments I have to run for my barf bag.
Jim - Obama said it once himself, it is above his pay rate.
Big mistake I made in 2008 was to vote for Obama. Being black and a woman myself I want it a black president or a woman to win. I voted for Hillary in the primary, we know were that went. I voted for a black man running on Hope and Change and where did that get us.
The way that this President conducts himself is an embarrassment for people of my background. I voted on feelings and not with my brain.
All he does now is call his opponent names and preaches just like any Dictator on the planet. Is too late for Obama, my President to change, so my vote is to change the occupant in the White House.
I do take accountability for my mistake but this President never does.
Romney/Ryan 2012. Mr: President you are FIRED!
Constantly retelling a lie doesn't make it true. Mitt Romney was NOT going to run this time, but his wife Ann convinced him to reconsider.
I never listen to Fox News until I came to this site and saw the wacko Libs (just the wackos) talking bad about Fox News, so I figured if this crowd had nothing good to say about Fox, then it might be better to listen to them more that to MSNBC or NBC (what ever you call yourself) So for the last 3 Month I have been surfing the Left and the so called right media.
In my view and in those with an open mind, Fox came on top. Yes, you have the wackos on both sides, but the worse one of all Rachel MADDCOW lol and Mr: chill up his leg Chris Mattews.
Concern Citizen - Congratulations! You've stopped drinking the kool-aid, and the effects are wearing off. You sound like my wife, supported Clinton in the primaries, voted for Obama as for the hope and change. She's finally coming around, and amazed at how the media she trusted (CNN in her case) is so devoid of any responsibility towards that amazing power the press is granted under our Constitution. Does that give them the right to ignore what's going on? Today, she heard from the father of one of the people murdered under our President's watch in Libya, and what they were told by Obama and SoS Clinton. Should she ignore it because they don't cover it on MSNBC or CNN? ABC took TWO YEARS for their FIRST report on Fast and Furious!!
Thank you for waking up!! I'm hopeful that there are a lot of you out there!!
Concern Citizen, you really need to stop with the lies you are telling. Not going to be good when you go to meet your maker. Your lies will cast a "black" mark on your record of truth.
How nice, 'Concern' Citizen. Here you come, channeling Donald Trump.
Whatever happened to The Donald's big bombshell that was going to change the election?
Never trust anyone who can't spell his own name, my friends.
Here is how Robme got his money. this is the big change he is talking about as he ships your job to China.
