Updated 4:32 p.m. - DAVENPORT, IA -- President Barack Obama kicked off a swing state barnstorm with a rally Wednesday in Davenport, Iowa – the state he credits with giving his 2008 campaign its first big boost.

“This is the first stop on our 48-hour fly-around campaign marathon extravaganza,” Obama told a crowd of 3,500 at the Mississippi River fairgrounds.
“We're going to pull an all-nighter -- no sleep. We're starting here in Iowa; we're going to Colorado, then we're going to go Nevada, then we're going to Florida, Virginia, Ohio. I am going to stop in Chicago to vote,” he said, urging the crowd to vote early in Iowa, as he will in his hometown.
Obama also continued to hit a theme of “who can you trust more,” saying that, unlike Romney, Obama’s positions on issues over the past decade have been consistent.
“You could take a videotape of things I've said 10 years ago, 12 years ago and you'd say, man, this is the same guy, has the same values, cares about the same people - doesn't forget where he came from. Knows who he's fighting for,” he said.
The Romney campaign responded to the president's event with a statement from campaign spokesman Ryan Williams: "President Obama proved once again today that his campaign is getting smaller and smaller as Election Day approaches. Another four years of President Obama’s policies will mean lower incomes, higher taxes, and more debt. A glossy brochure full of the same policies that haven’t worked over the last four years is no substitute for a real agenda that will help grow the middle class and restore America’s strength. In two weeks, Americans will choose Governor Romney's positive agenda over President Obama's increasingly desperate attacks.”
After the rally in Davenport, the president was headed to Denver, CO for another campaign event.

By contrast, President Obama has been consistent in his views going all the way back. You can look at what President Obama said as a Senator, and it is the same. We know who and what he is fighting for. We know what Barack Obama stands for, and his consistency has earned our trust.

Obamacare's Hidden Switcheroo
The law plans to cut $200 billion from Medicare Advantage to fund Medicaid.

If Obamacare remains the law of the land, its planned cuts to Medicare Advantage will force many seniors to go back to traditional Medicare at greater expense. The Florida Association of Health Plans found that because Medicare Advantage plans have more benefits and lower co-payments than traditional Medicare does, patients in that state could see their overall Medicare costs rise significantly — from $2,214 to $3,714 a year, depending on the insurance market they are in.
All this casts doubt on President Obama's infamous statement that under Obamacare, anyone who likes his current health-insurance coverage will be able to keep it. Tell that to the 13 million seniors who are about to see their Medicare Advantage benefits dismantled or transformed beyond recognition. No one expects HHS to comply with Issa's subpoena in time for voters to know the whole truth. But the outlines of what we do know are bad enough, and critics of Obamacare should do all they can to point out the law's hidden costs and uncounted victims, as states begin to implement Obamacare, piece by awful piece.
This is in addition to the 716 billion he's stealing from medicare... woohoo!!

Romney says he knows how to create jobs. His record as Governor tells a different story. According to the nonpartisan Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center's 9-3-06 report:
Romney cannot claim he knows how to create jobs from his record as Governor of Massachusetts.
Romney's claim about his Bain experience should be "I know how to make money from eliminating American jobs. If any jobs were created by Bain during my tenure there, it was only an accident as our main strategy revolved around creating wealth for ourselves." This would be an honest answer, but as we know by now, Romney can only lie about creating jobs.
Romney does not know how to create jobs in the public or private sector. He knows how to make money and minimize the taxes he pays on it.
Romney's failure as a job creator as Governor of Massachusetts is clear. His record on education there is even worse. He cut aid to education resulting in college tuitions rising 62% there in his 4 year stint as Governor. it is no wonder he trails by 20 points in his home state. Massachusetts know Romney's record there and they don't like it.
It'll be close in Iowa. More than half the people who come out today to see the President will vote, and about half of those will vote for Obama. Same for Romney. The game is to match crowd for crowd. The federalists (Tea Party) will no more support ObamaCare two weeks from now than they did in the 2010 midterm elections, and I predict they will be out stronger this time around. Is there a Tea Party in Iowa?

Yeah, I've wondered why the jobs thing hasn't been more often reported. The 12 million jobs number comes from three nonpartisan sources. Macroeconomic Advisors has predicted the current economy is set to add 11.8 million jobs in the next four years, if everything stays the same. Moody's Analytics is on board with that, coming in at 11.84 million jobs in the next four years. The Congressional Budget Office came in a bit below that, at 10 million jobs in four years. All of them say their predictions are based on the last four years. As Moody's guy said:
"...the economy’s fundamentals are much improved, as households deleverage, the financial system re-capitalizes, and American businesses become global competitive. Moreover, the construction cycle is on the verge of turning up significantly, which by itself will create a boat load of jobs, particularly in 2014-15."
As we've seen now with everything from the auto bailout to foreign policy, Romney's MO is first to criticize, then - if the policy works - to take credit for it. I can see why Romney is trying so hard to win 'low information voters'. He's going to need them.

Actually, as Governor of MA Romney let a sizeable previously-enacted Capital Gains Tax increase take effect, then increased hundreds of fees and added new fees. Governor Romney also approved massive increases in Property Taxes, and declined to sign Nordquist's "No Taxes" pledge.

The Obama campaign has finally, the day after the debates, come up with the President's economic plan for the next 4 years. The plan is devoid of detail and budgetary information but is full of wishful thinking. Obamanomics is really impossiblenomics. This is one of the parts that I like the best"
Four years ago, without conditions of any kind to include any act of congress, the President promised that the 2012 federal deficit would not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet in fact it exceeded 1.1 trillion dollars. That says a lot for the President's fiscal planning and sense of budget. For the past 4 years the President has been proposing a tax increase on the "rich" that congress has yet to pass. This increase in taxes would at most divert 100 billion dollars per year from the private sector to the public sector. The federal government has been trying to spark the economy by injecting more money. This move will have the opposite effect and will do little to solve our debt problem. so using 2012 figures the federal government will still have a trillion dollar debt to deal with.
According to the President's nomination acceptance speech, the troops will be coming home in 2014 so by 2015 the peace dividend will be in full effect. According to the President's plan, he is expecting to net more than 2 trillion dollars per year by bringing the troops home. It will take at least 1 trillion dollars to balance the budget and of course that has to be done before we can start running a surplus. Balancing the budget is done with just half of the peace dividend. That is why the peace dividend will have to be greater than 2 trillion dollars per year. So the President is claiming that we are spending more than two trillion dollars per year on the war on Afghanistan which is less than true. If the federal government cut out all defense spending that then cut the rest of the budget in half it would not generate the required savings. The President's plan is fantasy economics. The President's plan is mathematically impossible. It is the President who needs more math education.

However, the additional 7+ Trillion added to the debt in 3+ years , and another projected 4 Trillon in Debt over the next four years, is ALL OBAMA.. The buck stops with Obama!

The document did not, however, mention the possibility of planes being flown
into buildings.
An agent in the FBI's Arizona office did, however, speculate about that, writing in his case notes about Zacarias Moussaoui that Moussaoui seemed like the type of person who was capable of flying an aircraft into the World Trade Center.
It was the observation of an agent taking notes as he thought about his case - an observation whose significance simply did not register at the time.
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer says that while President Bush was told last summer that bin Laden's al Qaeda network might hijack planes, he did not receive information suggesting that airplanes might be used as suicide bombs, as they were on Sept. 11.
Fleischer emphasizes that "until the attack took place, I think it's fair to say that no one envisioned that as a possibility."
The revelation about the president's security briefing comes as House and Senate Intelligence Committee investigators prepare for public hearings beginning next month on whether an intelligence community which spends $30 billion a year should have been able to provide a more specific warning in advance of Sept. 11.
The New York Times reports that an FBI agent in Arizona warned his superiors last summer that bin Laden might be sending students to U.S. flight schools.
Investigators have since Sept. 11 suspected bin Laden's al Qaeda network of masterminding the terror attacks on America, which killed more than 3,000 people.

Yes, the out of pocket premiums are quite a bit lower but if a senior gets sick and has to see a doctor or many doctors or goes into the hospital and has tests and sees numerous doctors, then they will incur many costs that could amount to thousands of dollars that they would never have on traditional Medicare with a supplement. Medicare Advantage is good is you're relatively healthy with no medical problems. As a senior gets older and sicker Medicare Advantage will actually cost them way more than the security traditional Medicare and a supplement that will cover EVERY cost. The only cost a senior would have would be their premium on traditional medicare. They can go to any doctor, any hospital, have any test and never see a bill. That's not the case with Medicare Advantage. Medicare Advantage is private insurance that pretends under the guise of the Medicare banner but it is a very different program. Seniors need to be informed before they make such an important decision as to relinquish their right to Medicare and take a private health plan called Medicare Advantage. One more thing that should tell you something. If a senior decides to take a Medicare Advantage plan or switch from traditional Medicare to an Advantage plan, the government will allow them to switch back within a year if it doesn't work out for them the way they expect.

There was an article today about the possible hazards of energy drinks to America's teenagers.
Sadly, some youths have died from ingesting too much within a short period of time.
Most these drinks are stimulants and cause increase heart-rate and lead to cardiac arrest.
Judging from the veracity of the hate-filled tone of the Rovian-Drudge-Rush-Lying-Tea-Party-Psycho-Bloggers, I’d say they are consuming dangerous amounts of Kool-Aid.

The only thing the democrats would agree to was the cuts being heavier on defense or no deal. After the bi-partisan committee failed to produce an agreement focus went on talks with Obama. Obama layed out his demands and the republicans huddled and decided to give everything Obama wanted and returned to the White House agreement. Obama then procedes to demand even more concessions and the Republicans said, forget it.

There wereno demonstrators and Obama knew it; he lied for political expediency and should be impeached both because of the non-action taken prior to this tragedy and for the action, deception, and intentional lying to the American people afterwards.
