With 13 days until the election, President Obama tried to fortify his support in Ohio and Florida; meanwhile, Mitt Romney is distancing himself from Indiana senate candidate Richard Mourdock after he made controversial comments about rape and abortion. NBC's Peter Alexander reports.
Obama and Romney embark on battleground blitz… First Read’s Electoral College scenario of the day: How Obama could get to 270 without Ohio… Mourdock pulls an Akin?... Why Mourdock could matter to Romney… Obama and that second-term agenda… Des Moines Register editorial chides Obama’s off-the-record conversation… And Quinnipiac poll shows McMahon trailing by six in Connecticut.
President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney crisscross the country Wednesday, with a new urgency – though the campaigns are still fighting over a slice of undecided voters. The Daily Rundown’s Chuck Todd reports.
*** Battleground blitz: If you want to know where the presidential campaign is being fought, just look at all the candidate travel. Yesterday, President Obama hit Florida and Ohio. And today, beginning his whirlwind tour on Air Force One, he heads to Iowa, Colorado, and Nevada. Meanwhile, Romney yesterday was in Nevada and Colorado. And today, he returns to Nevada before heading to Iowa. And all of this occurring with 13 days until Election Day (a little over 300 hours until the first polls close, but who’s counting). By the way, as we mentioned earlier, NBC’s Brian Williams will be accompanying Obama on his battleground-state blitz.
"There is a fairly legitimate path for the president to win without Ohio," NBC News' Chuck Todd tells the Morning Joe panel this morning in discussing the last-minute grab both Obama and Romney are making for the swing states.
*** Electoral College scenario of the day: Between now and election day, we’re going to delve into the various scenarios which are semi-realistic. Today’s: Obama could still lose Ohio and get to 270 electoral votes, and the path is not a nutty path. He does it by winning Wisconsin (a state that hasn’t gone GOP since 84), Iowa (a state Gore carried), New Hampshire (a state Kerry carried), and Colorado. That gets him to 272. Sorta stunning that with all of our focus on FL-OH-VA that they all three could get rendered meaningless by the Rodney Dangerfield of the battleground: Colorado. And this is why, despite some national polls showing Romney either tied or slightly ahead, the narrative has never held that Obama is behind – due to all of his different paths to 270. And isn’t it inevitable that it’s a NEW state that keeps us up, not an old one? In the last three presidential campaign cycles, we in the media have looked backwards at an old battle for a swing state, and it ends up being a new state that becomes THE story. In 2000, it was Florida (which no one believed before October). In 2004, it was Ohio (again, no one believed it until October). In 2008, it was Virginia (which ended up reflecting the national vote). So why not Colorado in 2012? And keep an eye on Maine, too: The pro-Romney Super PAC Restore Our Future is up with a TV ad in the state trying to win the state’s one EV in the 2nd congressional district.
*** Mourdock pulls an Akin? This isn’t a story the Romney campaign wants to see just 13 days before Election Day. Just days after Romney endorsed and cut a TV ad for Richard Mourdock, the GOP nominee in Indiana’s competitive Senate contest, Mourdock walked into controversy on rape and abortion. Describing his opposition to abortion – even in cases of rape – Mourdock said at a debate: "I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen." Despite that recent endorsement, the Romney campaign distanced itself from Mourdock’s remarks. "Gov. Romney disagrees with Richard Mourdock's comments, and they do not reflect his views." And even Mourdock walked back what he said at the debate. "God creates life, and that was my point,” he said in a statement. “God does not want rape, and by no means was I suggesting that He does. Rape is a horrible thing, and for anyone to twist my words otherwise is absurd and sick."
*** Why Mourdock could matter to Romney: Even though the Romney camp quickly distanced itself from Mourdock’s remarks, the story could matter to Romney. Why? Because just as Romney is trying to move to the middle -- on domestic policy, foreign policy, and social issues -- the Mourdock story is a reminder how the conservative bent of this Republican Party has been a drag on Romney. While Romney’s fav/unfav inched up in our latest NBC/WSJ poll to 43%-44%, the GOP’s own fav/unfav is at 36%-43% (compared with the Democratic Party’s 42%-40% score). It’s been the under-reported story of this campaign. So this becomes a fundamental question for Romney: Can he win over voters in the middle, even if these same folks have reservations about the party he now leads? Consider how the party will react if Romney loses; they’ll blame him for all sorts of things. But if Romney loses, it’ll likely be because Obama over-performed with Hispanics and women. Will that be Romney’s fault, or will blame lie with the perception of the party?
*** Obama and a second-term agenda: And here’s a fundamental question for Obama: How does he convince the public he has a second-term agenda with less than less than two weeks before election day? Yesterday, the campaign unveiled a new booklet outlining that agenda, and Obama held it up as he campaigned yesterday. (A little hiccup: Per NBC’s Ali Weinberg, the booklets, as of yesterday, had arrived only in Florida, where Obama was yesterday. They were not available at his Ohio rally!!) Here’s the irony in all of this discussion about Obama’s second-term agenda: He definitely has one; in fact, it was the subject of most of his convention speech in Charlotte (100,000 new teachers, investment in infrastructure, tax breaks to families that create U.S. jobs, tax cuts to middle-class families, balanced deficit reduction). But because much of his campaign has been oriented to hitting Romney, there is the impression that Obama doesn’t have a second-term agenda. And that is something the Obama camp is trying to fix. But it’s clear the Obama campaign didn’t expect Romney to fix his image as fast as he did with that first debate because the pivot by the campaign from disqualifying Romney to re-qualifying Obama has been, um, sluggish.
*** Des Moines Register chides Obama’s off-the-record conversation: Meanwhile, the editor of the Des Moines Register, NBC’s Carrie Dann flags, wrote an editorial about a private, off-the-record phone conversation Obama had with the editor and publisher -- in an effort to win the paper’s endorsement. In the editorial, the editor chides Team Obama for not making the conversation on the record. “The conference call lasted nearly 30 minutes and was an incredibly informative exchange of questions, answers and an insightful glimpse into the president’s vision for a second term… Just two weeks before Election Day, the discussion, I believe, would have been valuable to all voters, but especially those in Iowa and around the country who have yet to decide between the incumbent Democrat and his Republican opponent.” The paper makes its endorsement on Saturday night.
*** On the trail: Obama campaigns in Davenport, IA at 11:10 am ET, in Denver, CO at 4:55 pm ET, and Las Vegas at 12:35 am ET… Romney stumps in Reno, NV at 2:45 pm ET and in Cedar Rapids, IA at 8:00 pm ET… Biden hits Marion, OH… Ryan makes a stop in Cleveland, OH… And Ann Romney visits Florida.

/
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama speak in Ohio, Sept. 26, 2012.
*** Down the ballot: Meanwhile, looking down the ballot, a new Quinnipiac poll shows Chris Murphy leading Linda McMahon in Connecticut by six points among likely voters, 49%-43%... And Politico writes that the pro-Senate Democrat Super PAC Majority PAC is going up in Indiana, Nevada, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania. Yes, Pennsylvania, that’s right; Casey in more trouble than perhaps folks realized? The Republican there is a self-funder and has been relentless.

Don't buy into the cheap enthusiasm crap Team Willard is selling, it's counterfeit!
Just last night right here at First Read they posted not one but TWO threads highlighting the hypothetical "confidence" & "momentum"! lol
This is a bluff which has Karl Rove's filthy hands all over it; he used it in 2000 and has revived it in hopes no one would notice!
We won't be fooled again!
Good Morning Feisty what a great way to start the day off.
What Youth Gap?
One of the great mysteries of this election season is how the media keeps lying about our enthusiasm. We are running early voting circles around Romnesia in NC, IA, OH and even up 5 in the absentee battle in Florida.
I'm posting this poll because they clearly indicate NO, NADA, no slack in our enthusiasm. Check it out: http://www.scribd.com/...

BTW: At The Last Presidential Debate: Romney Told 24 Myths In 41 Minutes
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2012/10/23/1070781/at-the-last-presidential-debate-romney-told-24-myths-in-41-minutes/
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can anyone vote for a person like MYTH who stands for absolutely nothing? I'm believing they know the truth but because it's a Black man in the White House and their fear of a Black Planet that is the reason. They'll never admit though. They are all Big LIARS! The Caucasian presidential candidate, MYTH Romney, can say anything damn to terat the USA down and it has a ripple effect.

Ambassador Stevens and other Americans were quickly hurried into the "safe haven" in the consulate. A room seemingly impenetrable with iron bars and no windows. But one minor detail was left out. It was not impenetrable to smoke and fire that forced our brave Americans into the open. Maybe Mr. President you should have reviewed history well documented in movie archives back in the "horse and bayonet" days to see how savages forced settlers well fortified into the open. Where was the rapid response team? Where was the contingency plan? Why is your story "all over the map?"
Transparency. Why would President Obama after asking the Des Moines Register for its endorsement -- giving the editorial board an interview and then ask the newspaper to NOT PUBLISH the interview??? What information given to newspaper editors is not the right of the people to know as well? Does that bother anyone else?
Ask yourself a question: Is Obama's plan working anywhere close to like he promised in his 2008 campaign? No matter what "excuses" and "blames" one wants to come up with, the answer is to anyone with an ounce of logic is NO! Next go back to the "excuses" or "blames" and ask yourself this question: Will anything change if Obama is re-elected? After analyzing those points the answer has to be another resounding NO! Should the American people be forced to have another four years of gridlock and/or the unthinkable that the president will "skirt" the Constitution and bypass Congress? NO! If you disagree with that final point, then IMHO you are not truly an American nor are you putting the best interest of this country first.
Now as to how Gov. Romney will govern and your questions of where he stands -- in detail -- a look back at his history can provide you the end result of his leadership. Gov. Romney has never failed any one that has counted on him. No his record is not perfect and there examples of things not going as planned but overall he has never failed his family, those who elected him, those who hired him and those who asked for his assistance as a volunteer. He has always found a way to work with everyone to avoid gridlock and get the job done. He has always found a way to overcome, adapt and improvise to get the job done to the overall benefit of those counting on him. Looking at the two records -- Romney's overwhelming success and Obama's overwhelming failure with no other hope in sight -- where do you really want to put your faith in getting the job done? President Romney WILL NOT FAIL AMERICA! He is like Harry Stamper – Romney doesn’t know how to fail.
NEWS BULLETIN: This just in. The Obama administration has called Hollywood Soap Opera writers to the WH to see if there is any way possible to bring Bin Laden back from the dead and see if he can be killed again in the next 10 days!!!!!!
Finally, we learn that tagg romney has apologized for wanting to beat the president... too bad his father has not apologized for disparaging 47% of the nation....
I don't even think Romnesia fits what we know as Mitt Romney... the guy's a shape shifter... you don't know what you get... is this how he'll negotiate with Foreign leaders?
He is simply very dishonest... I didn't like Bush that much, but Romney is absolutely outrageous... I can't even begin to discuss his numerous lies. Yesterday about the Auto bail-out, FACT: GM and Chrysler would not be around today...
it's one thing to tack to the middle during the general election, it's another thing to completely become the opposite of the person you've been the last 5yrs... judging by the polls, some American's are actually buying that this is normal. It is not normal, and its been disingenuous at its finest.
I say this man is not fit to be commander in chief. No way, now how!!!! Journalist haven't done a good job on this one. He can say anything he wants...and the media gives him a pass because they want to seem fair. How in the world can someone change all their positions 2wks before a general election and the electorate believe that this is the person they'd get in the white house.
I can honestly say that if Romney wins... we don't know what we are getting... the moderate, the severely conservative... of someone who just blows with the winds of the likes of Sheldon Adelson, Koch bros or Sheriff Arpaio.... I think its the latter and its bad for the country.
"Romney has never failed anyone who has counted on him. "
Wow, Bennie, pretty delusional even for you!
Did you want to go talk to the Sensata employees about that, as well as all those other people who lost their jobs because Mitty wanted to make a buck for himself?
He has to buy Queen Ann a new Warmblood now and again, or she tantrums!
WARNING to Women of America:
The Romney way is to get elected first - then govern as he pleases.
Romney pledged to "get rid of" Planned Parenthood, ending basic and preventative healthcare to millions & rural America. Despite Romney's waffle in the 2nd debate, he supports the Blunt Amendment that allows employers to refuse birth control to women.
Denying women access to family planning/spacing, creates families with too many mouths to feed. Surely anti-contraceptive Romney was joking in the 3rd debate, when he held forth on "greater participation on the part of women in public life?"
Romney said he'd reverse Roe v. Wade & appoint Supreme Court judges to do the same.
Romney was pro-choice before he was Governor, and then he wasn't. He continues to flipflop. Paul Ryan is the most extreme candidate imaginable on women's health. Ryan's co-sponsored 33 anti-abortion bills with ("legitimate rape") Todd Akin.
Ryan said women impregnated by a rapist, should bring their pregnancy to term.
Romney would reinstate "the global gag rule" reversed by President Obama. The gag rule blocks government aid to international family planning groups, who work hard to end poverty in the world. So for all his prating on Monday about "peace" & helping women abroad, Mitt Romney would block such aid.
Privatizing Social Security has been on GOP's crisis-manufacturing agenda for a long time, even though it does not add to the deficit. Millions of elderly women depend on Social Security to stay above the bread-line, and to stay warm.
RomneyRyan would gut safety nets.
On Monday, Romney reinforced that he'll repeal the Affordable Care Act. RomneyRyan plan to voucherize Medicare, costing senior women $6,400 a year - and leaving them to haggle with insurers. Medicare cannot survive without Obamacare beyond 2016. RyanRomney will cut Medicaid by one-third.
Romney health plan = Go to Emergency, or just DON'T get sick.
Mitt Romney's lie that he'd cover pre-existing conditions, (debate #1) was negated by the Romney campaign the next day.
Mr. Binder Romney has NOT supported equal pay for women. (Debate #2)
Romney would install (see website) the same Supreme Court Justices, who denied Lily Ledbetter the right to sue for decades of unequal pay.
And for all Romney's binder talk, only 4 out of 49 Bain Capital partners are women.
This opinion piece in WaPo by Meyerson sums up what would happen if Republicans win.
The recent news that Obama was told within only two hours that the attack in Benghazi was by the terrorist group Ansar al-Shariah and lied about it for two weeks should kill his chances for re-election.
Obama was a total failure on all aspects of the Benghazi attack. He didn't anticipate it. Our Ambassador did anticipate it and requested more security. Obama turned him down. While the attack was underway, Obama was hiding under his desk, afraid to send any support.
But now it comes out that Obama knew it was a terrorist attack. Had he told the truth at the time, everyone would have known that he had committed a huge error in judgment not to grant the consulate's security request on the anniversary of 9/11. To prevent that, Obama deliberately mischaracterized the attack as a “spontaneous demonstration.”
And now his lie and his incompetence are exposed!
What is Donald Trump's October Surprise?
Whatever it is; it's going to backfire and set that FOX TAIL on his head on fire. Remember, this is the chump who was supposed to dispatch a team to Hawaii to prove our President is not a USA citizen!!! He failed.

@newday -- As I said his record wasn't perfect, but he wasn't working for Senesta. He was working for Bain Capital and the 10s of thousands of middle class and senior citizens who had invested in the company. I will not parse a few isolated incidents. He did his job and he did it well. PRESIDENT ROMNEY WILL NOT FAIL AMERICA -- HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FAIL.
Romney didn't fix his image. He lied frequently during the debate. A debate he lost in a big way. Just this past Monday.
This is the same Romney who protested for a draft in Vietnam, yet didn't serve. This is the same Romney who assaulted a classmate. This is the same Romney who didn't know the names of politicians he worked supposedly side by side with here in MA. Can you imagine? He didn't bother learning their names. Both Republicans and Democrats here say that during his time as governor he was distracted and uninterested.
This is the same Romney who signed a pledge to Norquist. He is the man who is going to cut taxes for the rich, while cutting programs helpful to the 47%. This is the same Romney who was against the auto bailout.
He hasn't fixed any image. This is who Mitt is. A liar. A bully. A man running for the presidency yet couldn't be bothered to seek out his own vision of our foreign policy and decided to hang on to the Bush's neocon's visions. This is the man who is talking about peace. He certainly didn't talk about peace during the Vietnam years now did he? He is the same man. The only difference is he's being called on it now that he's in the national spotlight. So he has to lie.
Having the neocons back in power will be crippling for America.
President Obama's presidency actually means something. America is a better place because of him.
Romney hasn't contributed a thing.
Feisty,
Can you tell us about the Duckworth vs. Walsh-UNWORTH odds?
Man does SHE have him pegged as the loser he is, or WHAT?
If Romney 'won' the first debate, he did it by lying. He told very big, consequential lies in these debates.
The way it works: Romney tells his giant litany of lies on-camera, or on tape. After aggressively pushing his lies, he seeks to blame whoever is around him for his own failings.
Next day, the Romney campaign does negations, admissions and corrections. It is a lot of work because Romney has made an entire CAREER out of lying.
At the last debate, Romney immediately told 21 lies. Debate #2, Romney told 31 lies in 41 minutes. And 27 lies in 38 minutes at the first debate.
Strange!
Willard couldn't bring himself to mention Benghazi during the debate so instead he sends his gofers out to do his dirty work!
Even though the families of the fallen have pleaded to NOT politicize the tragedy, it doesn't stop these clowns from barreling full speed ahead!
And YOU slobs have the nerve to call yourself real Americans!
4 more years - of what? That was the headline on one of the MS-DNC shows this morning. Valid question.
More people on welfare and food stamps
Job rate that has remained stagnant - a President who boasts that he formed a council and then did nothing to boost it along or participate
Me. I did this. Yeah I'm a little weary of the narcissism. THEY all work for us.
Now he comes up with a booklet after Romney goads him about not having a future direction. Where was this during the whole election period? Only come up with this because now because you are losing the election?
Yes the SEALS got Bin Laden; then you and your staff try to turn it into a bumper sticker, inciting the extremists even more. And what is the result? 4 people who died on the anniversary of 9/11 and an obvious attempt to deflate it so as to not damage your re-election campaign.
A country so divisive right now, almost hateful toward each other. He has done nothing to defuse the toxicity - rather he promotes it being his best angle toward re-election.
No, not any more. I and many others are weary of this present status of our country and will not be plugging another 4 years of it.
Ben: good try. The employees of Sensata asked Mitty to come visit them and he ignored them. Not in HIS best interests, and the only thing MIttens is concerned about is getting what HE wants at the expense of everyone else.
He and Queen Ann are two of the most reprehensible people that have ever tried to force themselves on the electorate.
It is notable that one of the "home states" he claims, MA, will be voting against him in landslide numbers.
You, Ben, are deluded. He HAS failed, many people. All of them hardworking Americans, who found themselves without jobs when Mitty "harvested" the companies that they worked for.
On the other hand, Mittens does pretty well for the Chinese workers. They make their pittance, living in squalor, in companies surrounded by barbed war and guards so that they don't run away.
That your image for America, Ben?
Glad you asked GF!
The dead beat daddy is currently yowling like a scalded cat!
Tammy has unleashed a devastating & TRUTHFUL new ad, highlighting old Joe having his Congressional wages garnished for his back child support!
It also includes how Joe went on lavish vacations while owing money to support his children and loaning his campaign $35K.
As of last night, he was demanding she take it down!
Tammy refused and told him basically to eff off!
I noticed the dingbat who lives on the corner by me, has taken down her 2 Walsh yard signs...
Newday: Your lack of knowledge as to how business works is astounding! Your hatred is below reprehensible. Your opinions come out of your a$$. Have a good day.
Are you one of the 47% that Romney thinks is a parasite on the body politic? I would like to vote for someone who has a better opinion of all Americans. Sure, now he says he was wrong. Do you believe him?
Andrea Mitchell, MSNBC, to Jim Talent (R-MO):
"Excuse me, Senator. I have fact checked the so-called 'apology tour' and it just didn't happen."
President Obama has a plan for his next term. It's in print and available to all to read. Romney has a plan. But it's only in his head. You don't need to know about it right now. "It's a good one though. "I'll tell you all about it after I'm elected." "You don't need to worry. TRUST ME."
Can you believe this phony? Vote for someone who's open and you can trust. PRESIDENT OBAMA.
OBAMA IN 2012.
GOTV.
Interesting Senate race in Maine. I read Karl Rove is putting a lot of money up there. What I read is that the independent candidate is ahead. He is the former governor and the republicans believe, are afraid, that he will vote with the Democrats.
Did you guys see this?
MORNING MINDMELD: As an antidote to the (perhaps) irrational Republican exuberance that seems to have seized D.C., we pause for the following public-service announcement.
To be President, you have to win states, not debates. And Mitt Romney has a problem. Despite a great debate and what The Wall Street Journal’s Neil King Jr. on Sunday called a polling “surge,” Romney has not put away a single one of the must-have states.
President Obama remains the favorite because he only needs to win a couple of the toss-ups. Mitt needs to win most of them.
A cold shower for the GOP: Most polling shows Romney trailing in Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Hampshire and Iowa – by MORE than Obama trails in North Carolina.
Glenn Thrush and Jonathan Martin reminded of us of the 2008 primary analogy: Whatever else Hillary Clinton had, Barack Obama had the math. And math, not momentum, gets you the big house, the bulletproof car, the cool plane. We now resume our regularly scheduled Playbook.
http://www.politico.com/playbook/
To paraphrase Mary McCarthy and attribute her accusation to Romney: Every word out of his mouth is a lie, including "and" and "the".
My question to the Right-wingers this morning is: How can you support him when you don't know what he stands for?
Have you seen the new RNC commercial called "Big Bird, Binders & Bayonets"?
OMG, it's their best! Check it out:

Obama lost the election on October 3rd, the evening of the first debate.

Romney/Ryan 2012
My lack knowledge of how business works is astounding, Ben? I think I gave a pretty good outline of what Mittens has been up to all these many years.
What is astounding to me is that you believe that feckless Mitt created jobs. He didn't. He created money for his partners. And he had a HUGE head start doing that, given who is daddy was.
The kindest thing one can say about you Ben is that you are totally naive. The more accurate assessment would be that you are blinded by the right.
In any event, the American you want is the America that the rest of us fight against.
Romnesia
From the article above:
Romnesia isn’t limited to just the Governor.
The entire Tea Party congregation has Romnesia.
For a political philosophy that prides themselves on “personal responsibility”, they sure dismiss it when it happens with one of their own.
The constant denial from the right on how President Bush and Republican policies have tanked our economy that caused enormous hardship on the Poor and Middle Class is truly hypocritical.
Denial, Blame, Demonize.
Those are the symptoms of Romnesia.
The Majority of Americans are sick of Romnesia.
The Majority of Americans want to put Trickle-down economics in the past.
Re-electing President Obama on November 6th will solidify the message that Americans have had enough of the failed Tea Party, Faux, and Karl Rovian propaganda and want to move FORWARD with our lives.
Salud
Rape is good, Rape is right, Rape cuts through and captures the essence of the Repulican Party. Don't get raped in November.

Romney/Ryan - Because we need LEADERSHIP.
Jack - We have had poor white presidents in the past. We have a poor black one now. We need to fix the problem and not worry about color. But it seems the left can't get over the color of a mans skin. It is time you lefties get involved in the civil rights movement that the republicans started in 1964.
Romney says "I know how to create jobs". Does he? As Governor of Massachusetts, his record there tells a different story. According to nonpartisan Mass. Budget and Policy Center's 9-3-06 report:
Romney failed as a job creator in his only stint in government as Governor of Massachusetts.
OBAMA 2012

i am wondering if any of the left regulars will say something as to why we should consider obama for a second term. what we generally see, and today seems no different with your statement -- "Don't buy into the cheap enthusiasm crap Team Willard is selling, it's counterfeit!" -- Remember personal attacks are not a vision.

Jack -- It's a matter of trust for me. I cannot trust him. He's metamorphosed so many times, I don't know who this guy is or how he would govern or lead. There's no details on things such as his economic policies and at the debate, he completely changed ALL his positions on foreign policy. Unbelievable that anyone would vote for this guy. You can't trust him.
Did the President's travelling press secretary just dismiss the Governor on the basis of him being a white male?....is that not the height of desperation? Wow, the water's coming up, and we are seeing the rats do what rats do....

Jody-1593626---That ad seems a little muddled and may persuade some voters to vote for the President.
Think Progress:
On Tuesday night, during a debate with challenger Joe Donnelly (D-IN), State Treasurer Richard Mourdock (R) said that women who had been raped should not have access to abortion services, explaining that pregnancies resulting from the violent act are a “gift from God.”
“The only exception I have for to have an abortion is in the case of the life of the mother,” Mourdock claimed. “I struggled with myself for a long time but I came to realize life is that gift from God, even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape. It is something that God intended to happen. “
Sadly, Mourdock — who Mitt Romney endorsed just days ago — is one of a growing number of (mostly) male Republicans who are seeking to roll back women’s access to legal abortion services, particularly in cases of rape.
ExitO,

You can't fix stupid.. ya know! ;o)
Jack,
Notice how quick they become defensive? lol
Terrific articles and excellent comments, liberal friends. I see the right-wingers are visiting "Fantasy Island" again--"the plane, the plane".
The media keeps pushing this lack of enthusiasm for President Obama; I keep wondering if the media also took a trip to "Fantasy Island". Either that or they buy the "pious baloney" Karl Rove and Romney are selling. Romney's poll numbers began declining about a week after that first presidential debate; he never gained much momentum anywhere. Even the toss up states where he leads, the margin is slim; often close to or within the margin of error. National polls at this stage are nice to discuss but really do not tell the story.

"Even though the Romney camp quickly distanced itself from Mourdock’s remarks, the story could matter to Romney. Why? Because just as Romney is trying to move to the middle -- on domestic policy, foreign policy, and social issues -- the Mourdock story is a reminder how the conservative bent of this Republican Party has been a drag on Romney."
Yes, 13 days before the election is bad timing. It reminds Americans of the extremist views of the American Taliban Party. Women, if this is not the clearest clarion call signalling an attack on you, I don't know what will alert you to the importance of defeating this guy, Romney (who just endorsed him days ago) and Todd Akin.
Throw them all out.
Yes we know dumb fux, you can't fix stupid. Not even with a few days suspension.
TomasGrande - Have you seen the voter registration facts this year? Dems down everywhere.

Ben is a Liar. He is suffering from Romnesia in the 3 stage and bigotry. It would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic MYTH cannot win his own state. MYTH left his state broke, he wasn't bipartisan.
Romney took drastic measure to isolate himself and his office from legislators and constituents. He consistently failed to show up for work, let alone work with legislative leaders on the issues important to the people of Massachusetts. We saw what happened in the Bay State under Romney: the state sank to 47th out of 50 in job creation and he left his successor with a billion-dollar deficit. America can’t afford a Mitt Romney presidency.” – Massachusetts Representative Jeffrey Sanchez
http://www.politicususa.com/massachusetts-officials-release-statements-disputing-romneys-claim-bipartisanship.html
In 2006, his last year as Massachusetts’ Governor (in which he was absent more than half of the year), Romney issued 250 vetoes, all of which were overturned by what the Romney camp dubbed a “hostile” legislature. It’s not just Democrats who didn’t get along with Romney, though.
Most of Romney’s vetoes were overturned, sometimes unanimously. Romney used the vetoes to claim he was a budget hawk, but in addition to his budget vetoes, he also vetoed
a bill to raise the minimum wage
a stem cell bill and a bill to make the morning after pill available over the counter
The Concord Monitor, observing Romney’s “frosty relations with legislators” noted in 2007 that this, “effectively remov(ed) Romney from the final stage of the state’s budget process.

Hmmmmm...so Tropical Storm Sandy is gonna make a somewhat close pass to Florida. Should stay safely offshore by 100-200 miles. However, the wind field is going to be pretty big. And we are forecast to get wind gusts in the 50-60 mph range. Let's see, 50-60 mph wind gusts + 100 shoddily built signs in each grassy median at each intersection...that'll be interesting...LOL!!
How can anyone vote for this Romney guy. I believe he meets the criteria for Anti-Social Personality Disorder, or, if you prefer, he's a sociopath. I am a recent graduate from a 4 year university and my major was psychology.
Romney fits the criteria for a sociopath to a tee.
1. A lack of empathy for others
2. A willingness to say anything for his own benefit.
3.Thinking that the rules do not apply to him.
I could go on, but there is no need, all one has to do is look at this individuals actions.
I'm scared to death if this guy gets elected
Kannin
Why don't you wingnuts give it a rest? Romney has backed away from trying to exploit the deaths of Americans for his own benefit since the whole thing blew up in his face during the second debate. Get with the program. You're supposed to be praising Mitt's moderation, now.
another Republican moron.
Dont_carry_it_all
Exactly.
But we do know Mittens first big desicion as candidate was to choose Ryan as VP. And we definatly can see which direction Ryan wants to take this country.
Romney hasn't won anything. Romney has lied about everything. Romney now meets the required criteria of about half the American electorate. Romney has established Himself, along with them, as a proud La La Lander. Democrats must vote in large numbers or Romney could win. The US is not the US of our Grandparents. Lunacy is rapidly becoming our most basic national trait.
Beverly: There is no question that Mitty was a failure as Governor. The only people that can't see that are those that are blinded by hatred for their President.
Frank: stay safe in the storm!

Obama 4 more years of Hell. Because libs think you can pick up a turd by the clean end
I do not live in a "city" or an inner city either. I work for a living and I believe in the American dream that you can do anything you set your mind to in this country. I do not know anyone who works for a living or wants better for there children who will even think of voting for Obama. My question is where are these people coming from and why do they hate America so much that they desire four more years of failure?
back -- it is unfortunate that the party who considers bill clinton the best it has still clings to his nit-picking while clearly lying to America -- "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."
the words obama used did not include the word apology which is what all the lefty fact checkers are stating but it did contain
derisive -- exhibiting lack of respect; rude and discourteous; "remarks disrespectful of the law"; "disrespectful in the presence of his parents"; "disrespectful toward his teacher"
dismissive -- showing indifference or disregard
arrogance -- the manifestation of scorn and contempt
obama called all Americans, he speaks for America, disrespectful, indifferent and scornful.
he should apologize to all of us.

There was an article in last week's NYT about Romney's term as Governor of Mass. In his four years, he spent over 420 days out of the State leaving most residents to conclude that the Governorship mattered nothing more than a credential to seek the Presidency. Romney's popularity in the State is extremely low. Credit was given for Romney care but the positions he took on gun control, abortion and many others were just a means to an end and have all been reversed or denied.
The man is a snake oil salesman whose allegiance if, God forbid, he attains the role of 'Most Powerful Person in the World' will be to Sheldon Adelson, the Koch Brothers and the small cadre of anonymous billionaires hiding behind Karl Rove. To put this man in charge of this Country's purse strings, military, education and future would be a colossal mistake for all but the aforementioned few.

The only thing Romney has never failed at is telling a big WHOPPER!! Latest count is he is over 1000+ lies, and we still have 14 days to get in another 1000 lies. Unfortunately, the only single failure Romney will ever have is telling a truth. I'll bet anyone $10k that we will not see one truth from Romney between now and election day.

As a resident of Mass myself, and one that had the "pleasure" of having Romney as my Governor, I can tell you this: most of us are happy that Romney was gone as much as he was. We fear that the damage to our state would have been much greater had Mitt given 100% of his time to his actual job.
Romney will shamelessly say anything to get elected. If he gets in, watch out. Most of his advisors are ex=Bush neocon warhawks. The very same advisors that pushed war with Iraq since 1998 are pushing for war with Iran. Romney's willingness to tell whatever lies that will advance his agenda combined with the push for war, will get a lot of people killed, your sons and daughters.
Don't be fooled by Romney's recent shift to a more moderate position. With so many Bush people on his team, America will be driven into the ditch again just as we were climbing out.
Moody's predicts 12 million new jobs in the next 4 years leaving everything that Obama has done in place. Why is it that Romney's tax cut plan will only give the same 12 million jobs?(and only if everything goes the way they hopes it does).
In Romney's plan, they constantly refer to what happened in other recessions, yet they never reference the the crash that most resembles the one we are climbing out of, the Great depression of the 30's. It took 10 years and a world war to get out of that one.
Romney is cherry picking the economic theories to present his rosey vision of tax cuts balancing the budget. Reality will not be kind to such wrecklessness. Just as Bush's advisors cherry picked information that fit their agenda to go to war with Iraq, the same advisors have cherry picked the economics of recovery. America cannot afford the same Iraq like fiasco happening to the economy. Romney's numbers don't add up unless some segment of the population,(everyone but the rich), will be paying a lot more.
Think about it and vote.

In matters of foreign policy, Mitt Romney, stated he wants to have a 'peaceful planet', he has in recent days developed a dovish streak, somewhat reminds me of GBW, who in a debate for the 2000 election, swore up and down, being a compassionate conservative, he would not use our troops for nation building.
Three years later, we are on our way to Iraq on the pretext of WMDs are lying around for the taking and nation building soon started, we are still in Afghanistan for 12 yrs also nation building.
Mitt Romney, is very much like GWB, he has no sense of the world, its many cultures and histories including our history with them. Both of them exhibit the lack of curiosity and interest needed to interact with the various governments we must work with and negotiate to mutual benefit. George Bush was pushed and prodded by Neo Cons who had an agenda that he couldn't visualize and in effect became their puppet with disastrous results, 17 of the 24 Romney advisors are left overs from the Bush administration.
Mitt Romney showed during his fundraising tour of Europe and Israel, he is unsuitable to represent the US on the world stage. Having the same lack of understanding of how diplomacy, history work in our dealings with other countries as GWB, we do not know what he would do or what he would be to schooled to do in any foreign policy situation.
In a recent BBC poll of a number of nations as to who they would like to work with as President, President Obama was overwhelmingly the winner. A replica of GWB they do not want.
The costs of the two wars alone have set us in a financial hole, these decisions alone account for over 5000 of our troops killed and countless more damaged for life. Leaving their families to deal with the aftermath with little or no help from the republicans as they have repeatedly refused in Congress to make funds available to help them as they did to the first responders at 9/11.
Once again we have an astute comment from that font of intellect, CA.
Attention right-wingers: Follow CA's lead, for this is what you say when you have nothing to say.
Grimey: Yes, that would be funny, wouldn't it? On the other hand, somebody is going to have to clean them up. Personally, I'll be glad when all those signs are gone--remember Lady Bird Johnson's efforts to rid the country of those large billboards? They seemed to have spawned millions of tiny critters!
I have known several men who thought they were "God's gift to Women", but before this I have never heard a man say RAPE was God's gift to a woman. Unbelievable.
I freely admit my Liberal bias - but I am still astounded that ANYONE could with a clear conscience vote Republican after Romney's "47%" speech and perpetual flip/flopping, Todd Akin's "rape" comments, Paul Ryan's "personhood" amendments, and the way the Republican campaign has completely ignored facts and fact-checkers.
Talk about "drinking the Kool-aid", and blind fealty to a political party!
About the "Apology Tour". That is what conservatives and Romney called a series of 5 separate foreign speeches where Obama pointed out that Americans in the past were wrong.
You don't have to say I'm sorry, or I apologize.
One of Obama's statements
"there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive."

you are prasing Romney for his D- job because under Romney:
1. Massachusetts' unemployment was higher than the national average
2. the 0.9% drop in unemployment during his 4 years was mostly due to the decreasing population. Many left to seek employment in other states.
3. Mass' total job growth (0.9%) was well behind other high-wage, high-skill economies in NY 2.7%, CA 4.7%, and NC 7.6%
4. Mass witnessed the 2nd labor force decline in the nation
5. Mass lost 14% of manufacturing jobs
6. Mass piled on more debt than any other state
7. Romney presided over a 15% cut in spending on unrestricted aid to cities and towns; he also cut funding for local schools. Because of this, the average local property tax bill increased by 24%
8. Romney also increased fees on his residents from marriage certificates, to car registrations, to licensing.
9. While claiming to work with the other side, Romney forgets to mention he issued about 800 vetoes including vetoes on funding for elevators for the disabled.
You also bring up the fact that the state was 28th last year he was in office. So tell me, when you talk about your school grade point average (high school or college), do you talk about your last term's average or your overall GPA?
DB Akron,
So what's wrong with admitting the truth? Societies are not unlike individuals, with attributes and faults. We cannot grow as a society if we do not recognize where we have gone wrong in the past.
CA,
You just prove my point, over and over and over again.

You are full of it. Just because you lefties spew that crap about all the democrats in 1964 left the party for the republicans doesn't make it true. Strom Thurmond did, I'll give you that. Did KKK Rpbert Byrd? Did Al Gore Sr.? Give me a break. You lefties made a saint out of KKK Byrd. Did you know he was over 50 years old in 1964 when he pulled that longest fillibuster in history against the Equal Right Act? Go ahead and give a list of those racist democrats who left your party, if you can.
So I heard a rumor about what Trump is releasing. Supposedly he is going to release documents showing the First Lady had drawn up paperwork for a divorce about 10 years ago, but never filed them. Now, I wonder if Trump will also release the instruction manual to Romney's eWife-9000, because I would be interested to know if she was manufactured in the US or China. (Also, Trump may want to remember he is twice divorced).
Mourdock is the republican senate candidate from IN that Romney has personally endorsed.
Romney and the GOP as a whole seem to look upon women with little to no regard for what is in their best interest. From another article:
Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock said pregnancies resulting from rape are part of God's plan, tearfully explaining that he only supports abortions when a mother's life is in danger.
"I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen," Mourdock said during Tuesday's Senate debate, choking up. Mourdock's opponent, Democratic Rep. Joe Donnelly, opposes abortion except in cases of rape and incest.
How does any clear thinking woman support anyone from the GOP? They all seem to share this thought until someone objects to their spoken word, then they try to back-peddle faster than humanly possible.
Let me see if I have this straight:
DEMOCRATS: Have a desire to cover up the terror attack in Libya
REPUBLICANS: Have determined that rape is an act of god.
This is one awesome election!
By the way, only 300 responses, today? Where are all you extremists? Out on the campaign trail arguing with people whose minds you can't possibly change because you are too busy breathing fire?
"there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive."
And what part of that statement isn't true during "W"'s reign??? axis of evil? Old Europe?? Appointing Bolton to head the UN?????
It defies reason to expect that any leader or system of government can make everything wonderful for everyone, all the time.
President Obama is a realist. He set goals to make us a stronger, more prosperous nation, not just now but long term. He made it clear from the beginning that it was going to be long, hard work, that it would require sacrifice, and that we would all have to chip in and do our part as citizens.
And indeed we have made measureable progress under his leadership. He has earned the chance to continue the success he has achieved.
President Obama has been roundly criticized by the right wing for his 'failure' in not helping the economy recover fast enough, in not ending every act of terrorism on earth, in 'dividing' the country, in his 'socialist' agenda.
I'm disappointed in the apathetic conservative mindset that one man can solve all your problems for you. Good luck with that notion. Obama has the courage and the vision to bring lasting progress, and you carp on every word he says. You sit back and complain, and criticize, and vote in the biggest batch of obstructionist losers ever to hold seats in congress. Admit it, why don't you: Obama just doesn't have the proper pigmentation.
You would turn our country over to Mitt Romney, a lying, manipulative, greedy, power-mongering fool. God help us all if you get your way.

after Romney promised to be an open book when it comes to his SLC Winter Olympics stewardship, financial documents, contracts, appointment calendars, emails and correspondence were destroyed as well.
Let's not mention his tax returns which 99% of them remain to be mistery.
Yeah, this guy's "bad luck" of things being destroyed after he leaves is unprecedented.
Quoting the god? And you don't want to vote for Romney. Really, have you been to church lately?
Read this article from Thomas Sowell before you even consider to vote this November. Forward it to all that you know:
*********
If Obama wins, "then the fate of America -- and of Western nations, including Israel -- will be left in the hands of a man with a lifelong hostility to Western values and Western interests.
President Obama is such a genial man that many people, across the ideological space, cannot see him as a danger.
For every hundred people who can see his geniality, probably only a handful see the grave danger his warped policies and ruthless tactics pose to a whole way of life that has given generation after generation of Americans unprecedented freedom and prosperity.
The election next November will not be just another election, and the stakes add up to far more than the sum of the individual issues. Moreover, if reelected and facing no future election, whatever political constraints may have limited how far Obama would push his radical agenda will be gone.
He would have the closest thing to a blank check. Nothing could stop him but impeachment or a military coup, and both are very unlikely. A genial corrupter is all the more dangerous for being genial.
BREAKING NEWS: The Gloria Allred client is the wife to one of Romney's friends. Romney testified in their divorce proceedings, claiming Staples was basically worth nothing, which caused the wife to not receive much from the divorce. Then the husband turned around and made millions off of his stock in Staples. Staples is the company Romney most loves to claim as one of his success stories. There is a gag order on the testimony and the wife, and Allred is working to have it lifted. Reporting is being done by Boston Globe. They are actually in court right now.

no and no. Obama Admin has a desire and even though it would appear Obama represents democrats, I would not say democrats in general want it covered up
the similar thought with republicans.
DB Akron,
We invaded a sovereign country based on lies, misinformation and manipulation. And the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee had said so. Invading a foreign nation based on total lies displays arrogance, dismissiveness, and derision not only to that country but especially to those who were sent their to kill or be killed.
The hope of the United States rests on the quality of our education. Obama knows this. Mitt Romney pays lip service to it, and panders to Americans who don't have it. If we want to be competitive in the world, it is through education and high skills-jobs. Without these investments, the gradual but continual trend of technology replacing American jobs will only further hinder the American economy. We need scientists, engineers, and the best quality teachers in the world. We need to invest in them, because in doing so we invest in ourselves and our children and grandchildren.
A vote for Obama is a vote for a highly educated society doing good not just for the few, but for all; not just for the next four years, but for the future of our country.
Is this change you can believe in? I say, NO THANKS!
Over 8% unemployment for a record 43 months in a row! It's now said to be 7.8%, which still stinks. Oh, BTW, they didn't include California in the totals, which has over 10% unemployment. Duhhh. So, it's still over 8% folks.
Over $16 trillion in debt and counting? He increased it five trillion rather than reduce it five trillion as promised.
Over 14% unemployment for blacks.
Anemic economic growth, year after year, after year.
No budget for the past three years as required by the Constitution.
A healthcare plan that will cost over three times what they said it would, was opposed by over 60% of the population, sucks $700,000,000 out of Medicare to help pay for it, and wasn't even read by any member of Congress that voted for it? How could you vote for a bill you haven't even read?
Solyndra FAIL and cover-up (or at least no due diligence) that cost taxpayers over half a billion dollars.
FAILURE to protect our embassy in Libya resulting in the deaths of four Americans, and the cover-up afterward.
Fast and Furious FAILURE, resulting in the death of a boarder control officer and the cover-up by the Obama administration. Holder held in contempt of Congress.
This presidency is a failure and it is time for Americans to realize it and vote for a man that is highly qualified to lead us out of it, Mitt Romney.
PLEASE help us and do what is right for America: Vote Obama out.
By that logic, his god also intends for children to be kidnapped, tortured and murdered. His god must have planned for children to be burned alive in house fires, attacked by wild animals, and die of starvation and disease.
He can have his god. I'll take our Constitutional First Amendment freedom to have nothing whatsoever to do with that monster or his insane, sanctimonius brainwashing of the fearful and the ignorant.

I don't believe Mitt Romney has a single friend on earth. Minions, gadflies, cronies, yes. Friends, no.
At Caesar Augustus. Damn you for smashing my hyperbole!
Obama wouldn't even do an on-the-record interview for a newspaper... something Romney did earlier in the month. Apparently they wouldn't give him a script to memorize before doing the "interview" and he got scared.

Yet, You think that a stagnat GDP Growth (actually is down from last year), a Stockmarket that's value is higher because of Government buying wall street's debt, and a unemployment rate that is equal to when he started, ONLY because in the last 2 years for every person added to the workforce 10 have dropped out?
If the numbers were truthfully better, Obama would be winning in a landslide, just like Reagan did in 1984. The numbers he ran on were real, people figured that out, and voted for him.

Rasmussen agrees with ARG & Public Policy Polling. Romney is ahead in New Hampshire, the WMUR/UNH poll is clearly a an aberration. One week ago, Rasmussen showed Obama up 1.
Kaybee - Of course he has 1%'er friends, the guy was the founder of Staples, which Bain took over, and Romney testified at the man's divorce proceeding. Conflict of interest anyone?
@pjam09 - The Obama campaign has released the full transcript from his call with the Iowa newspaper. See that's called being candid. Let's see Romney release any off the record material without immediately disqualifying himself from the Presidency. BTW the way, Obama just stated his agenda for the next term, it isn't some groundbreaking discovery, it just didn't happen to be an on the record interview. The Iowa newspaper has stated it should be on the record because it is a good thing.
Here is the transcript:
You know what I can't understand? It's how dismissive writers here are of the last 4 years, filled with hate, and won't take a minute to remember where we were just 5 short years ago. Why is this important now? When most of Romney's financial advisers, and 17 of his 24 military advisers are from the Bush Administration it should be of the utmost concern to you going forward. Are people here naive to think they won't be recommending the same policies that took us to the brink of financial disaster? If your answer is no, where's your proof of that?
I remember calling my 401K plan back then when tens of thousands disappeared from my 401K and had to ask- Do you have anything that's not losing money? They couldn't tell me one thing- stocks, bonds and mutual funds were all losing money! I also remember thinking: Is this the end of Chevrolet and GM? Am I going to be forced to buy a foreign car the next time? And finally, working for a non-profit- will the funds run out and I'd lose my job? It was a the scariest moment in my working life, burned in like elderly people remember the Great Depression!
Since Romney and Ryan espouse most of the Bush policies, even stronger with the things they'd like with Social Security and Medicare by changing them forever by putting a middleman in there with privatization and vouchers, I can't bring myself to the point of pulling the lever for these two guys. And I've voted for Republicans before!
While some evangelical Christians are defending
the presidential candidacy of Mormon Mitt Romney from an attack by Al Sharpton,
another prominent pastor is going further in his condemnation – saying a vote
for the former Massachusetts governor is a vote for Satan.
That's the word from Bill Keller, host of the
Florida-based Live Prayer TV program as well as LivePrayer.com.
"If you vote for Mitt Romney, you are voting
for Satan!" he writes in his daily devotional.
Keller also comes out swinging against the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a cult.
"This message today is not about Mitt Romney,"
he writes. "Romney is an unashamed and proud member of the Mormon cult founded
by a murdering polygamist pedophile named Joseph Smith nearly 200 years ago. The
teachings of the Mormon cult are doctrinally and theologically in complete
opposition to the Absolute Truth of God's Word. There is no common ground. If
Mormonism is true, then the Christian faith is a complete lie. There has never
been any question from the moment Smith's cult began that it was a work of Satan
and those who follow their false teachings will die and spend eternity in hell."
Keller is also critical of other evangelicals
who have reached out to Romney.
"I have watched in horror over the past weeks
as one evangelical Christian leader after another has either endorsed,
supported, or just as bad, refused to denounce Romney's run for the White House
and those Christian leaders who support him," Keller writes. "Last weekend Pat
Robertson, founder of CBN and Regent University, had Romney deliver the keynote
address to the graduates of Regent. Regent is one of the great Christian
colleges in this nation, and Robertson allowed this cult member to deliver the
commencement address. Is he out of his mind? Do you think there would ever be a
true Gospel preacher giving the commencement address at Brigham Young?"
Keller warned about Mormonism:
"I have been warning you for years now about
this cult born out of the pits of hell and responsible for sending millions of
souls to eternal damnation," Keller says. "For the nearly 200 years this cult
has been in existence they have strived for mainstream acceptance. They are the
most devious of all the cults since they have always tried to portray themselves
as 'just another Christian group' when in fact, they are no more Christian than
a Muslim is! Their deception starts with their name, the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints. Sounds like a Christian church doesn't it? Some Mormons
have recently changed their name to simply Community of Christ to disguise even
better who they are in an attempt to lure people in."
Keller says that when LDS members talk of God
and Jesus they are not talking about the God and Jesus of Christianity. He
claims Romney's high-profile candidacy for the presidency is an important effort
by the church to gain credibility and respectability.
He says if Romney wins the White House,
millions of people will be attracted to Mormonism.
"Those who follow the false teachings of this
cult, believe in the false jesus of the Mormon cult and reject faith in the one
true Jesus of the Bible, will die and spend eternity in hell," Keller charges.
"Romney getting elected president will ultimately lead millions of souls to the
eternal flames of hell!"
Keller also criticizes Romney for political
flip-flops on issues like abortion, citing a recent report that his wife donated
money to Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the world.
There is no excuse, no justification for
supporting and voting for a man who will be used by satan to lead the souls of
millions into the eternal flames of hell!"
DB Akron
so what you are saying is that Romney needed 4 years to see improvement while ignoring the first 3?
hmmm...interesting...
and what you are saying is that we should ignore the fact that Massachusetts ranked 37th in job growth under Swift (before Romney), and it ranked 10th in Patrick’s first term (after Romney) while Romney ranked 47th?
you see, no matter how you spin it, overall, Romney was less than average. And Romney was less than average BEFORE THE FINANCIAL MELTDOWN of 2008. Thank God Romney did not have his greedy hands on Mass' economy AFTER we witness a total financial meltdown!
Don't forget, DB Akron, I experienced Romney's tenure, and that is why I don't like the guy. And don't foregt the fact that Romney had a 30 something % approval rating after he left. There is a real reson for that. You keep ignoring the very people who know Romney best - we all know that you have nothing else.
No, Derek, I haven't. And I don't have any future plans to.
How about you?
defensive? nah Jackie, mere mocking your sanctimonious attitude but if defensiveness is what you want to call it, dont let me stop you.
stay amused Jackie, simple minds, simple pleasures.
Update on MYTH's Lies:
Mitt Romney
Allegedly LIED in Court To Screw Over Friend's Wife
Mitt Romney LIED under oath when he testified in the divorce of his good friend and screwed the friend's wife out of a lot of money in the process ... so claims the ex-wife of Staples' founder Tom Stemberg.
Multiple sources connected with the divorce tell TMZ ... during Tom's uber nasty divorce case with ex-wife Maureen, Mitt Romney gave a deposition and testified during the trial that Staples was worth virtually nothing. Romney testified that the company was worth very little and Tom was a dreamer and "the dream continues."
Romney characterized the Staples stock as "overvalued," adding, "I didn't place a great deal of credibility in the forecast of the company's future."
Partly as a result of Romney's testimony, Maureen got relatively little in the divorce, but we're told just weeks after the divorce ended, Romney and Tom went to Goldman Sachs and cashed in THEIR stock for a fortune. Short story -- Romney allegedly lied to help his friend and screw the friend's wife over.
And there's more ... Our sources say years later, Maureen, who suffered from MS and had multiple bouts with cancer, got a visit from one of Tom's guys, who gave her papers informing her that Tom was cancelling her health insurance. Our sources say the irony here is that we're told Tom was working as one of then Governor Mitt Romney's chief health care advisers.
Sources tell us ... Tom also got custody of the couple's one child, making allegations of abuse against Maureen. And get this ... in the mid-90s, after the divorce, Tom sent the boy a letter saying, although he loved him, because of issues related to the divorce "it will not be possible for you to be a part of our family for the foreseeable future."
Maureen lost her home in the process and struggled financially.

I said NAME them. And then tell us just how far up the food chain they made it in the republican party. I remember KKK Byrd made it quite high up the democrat chain. Al Gore Sr. sure as hell didn't encourage his idiot son to change parties did he? You are full of it David. Give me the actual names of democrats who switched parties because of the Civil Rights Act vote. And as I mentioned, I already know Strom Thurmond.
baylLIE - Yes your posts are an open book. Found in the FICTION section.
Demon - You hit a nerve with the racist left this morning.
Maureen Stemberg received 500k shares of stock but sold them before Staples went public - thereby missing out on the giant windfall. Now she's pissed. Big deal. Romney has already stated that he is ok with the release of his testimony which centered on Mr. Stemberg's skills as a father,
"IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID !"
At the end of Obama's term in office the U.S. is $5 trillion+ deeper in debt than when he took office !
At the end of Obama's term in office, unemployment is still quite high and the "shovel-ready" jobs simply WEREN'T !
At the end of Obama's term of office, median family income is down while the cost of living has gone higher !
At the end of Obama's term of office, the U.S. government has invested billions in about 19 green companies that have already filed for bankruptcy !
Obama's only plan now is to raise taxes which would be but a drop in the bucket towards our annual deficits !
Financially speaking, Obama is a moron. He might have good intentions, but he clearly doesn't know what he is doing... NO BUDGETS, NO PLAN and NO CLUE !

How many times have I asked you to prove what exactly that I am lying about which you have not yet? Does that mean you're wrong or simply incompetent?
Q22 - Supposedly his testimony centered on the value of the Staples stock, which he "supposedly" stated was worthless, which would be why the wife sold them early to try to salvage something. Then Romney and the husband turned around and made big bucks off of it. If Romney was already invested in Staples through Bain and wrongly devalued Staples to the court, only to make a huge profit shortly thereafter, that is a big deal. If that is not the case, then I agree it is nothing to be concerned about. We will see.
that is because only whites can be racist. <sarcasm> Libs and their platitudes
Who is Mitt Romney? His shameless pandering to whoever's vote he is seeking at the moment raises the question of whether he is actually an empty suit with no core beliefs of his own or whether he is hiding his agenda because he knows it will lose him the election. If the former, it may not necessarily be a bad thing. All his presidential decisions would be based on market research and therefore reflect the will of the majority of the people. If the latter, he would be in a position to enact his agenda without it having been vetted by the electoral process. Can we afford to take a chance on which is the real Mitt Romney?
I see that Team Romney is trying to sidespin the issues of how he has a plan for America and Obama doesn't. Well from what I can tell, Obama does have a booklet of his so called plan, it might be full of food stamps but it's his version of it. Romney on the other hand has nothing but his mouth, lip service or empty promises that we as Americans are susposed to eat that kind of $hit daily? Romney flips too much, thinks we have forgotten what he said 24 hrs ago, oh no. Flipper Romney, you get a 10.5 on your flips and a 0 on your flop as a presidential candidate.

During the Great Recession many workers were asked to take a pay cut due to the downturn. In addition to that, over the past few years, Republicans have passed "right to work" laws that have SIGNIFICANTLY lowered wages. Those things would play a role in median wages falling.
The cost of living increases in things such as food and gas are, completely or in part, the so-called "free market" at work. Read:
Since Obama took office:
Growth rate is almost 10% higher
Job growth is almost 920,000 higher per month
The budget deficit has been reduced by almost 20%.
The stock market has almost doubled.
Housing prices are going up, not down.
The auto industry is profitable and growing, not on the brink of failure.
Banks have returned to profit.
All these improvements have come despite Republican efforts to stop the recovery by opposing any stimulus spending. All these improvements have come despite a Europe heading into recession.
With continued growth and long delayed infrastructure spending, our growth rate will continue to improve. Once we again reach 3-4% growth (where we would be now if Republicans had not blocked Obama requested additional stimulus spending last year), we will be able to cut our budget deficit in half from increased tax revenues due to growth and decreased unemployment and safety net costs.
This is all the result of Obama's plan for America's economic growth. That we are as far along in our recovery from the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression is because Obama made it happen despite Republican opposition. With Republican rule, we would be in much worse shape now.

The DemoLabRats are getting real desperate!. obama will not win a re-election as he is a FAILURE on all fronts. Benghazi-gate is obama's latest failure, and drove yet another nail into obama's political coffin. We The People will drive the final nail into obama's political coffin next month. obama's so desperate that he has asked the UN to monitor our election.
Future scenario in a Romney administration:
A Republican guy returns home early from work one day and finds his wife in bed with another man.
She pauses in her activity for a moment, smiles at her hubby and says, "It's OK, honey! He's raping me," and carries on.
Saw this bumper sticker yesterday:
I'LL TAKE ROMNEY!
NOT THE COMMIE!
Have to say I agree with that thought! Early voted for Romney/Ryan... while in line I copied a Jimmy Kimmel bit and asked a obama supporter what she thought of the First Lady Debate the previous night... she replied that she thought Michelle won! LOL, can't fix stupid, but we can vote it out!
With each passing day it becomes more and more apparent that our President is not cut out for the job, yet these lefties are desperate to defend him. Why does Romney have so much momentum, because people are beginning to realize what our President truly is.
The hate mongering liberals are at it again, spewing childish schoolyard bully tactics such as petty name calling. Why do you libs hate America so much? Is it the elitist mentality or do you enjoy pitting Americans against each other? A bit of self reflection would help calm your hatred, ask yourself how would you feel if someone were speaking this way to your child? What a shame.
Mittmentum is sweeping the nation!
I've always been proud to be an American! Even for the last 4 years with an idiot living in the White House! But that will all change in January 2013... Romney is a job creator, Obama is a redistributor and that's a fact, jack!

I dont buy it. It is coming from the ULTRA EXTREMIST RIGHT WING AMERICAN TALIBAN, we do not need extremist on main-street
Obama/Biden 2012 We dont need the Taliban here in the United States
Caesar, you are getting closer to the truth:
We are all racist. Some of us recognize that tendency in human nature and admit that it exists within ourselves. We are all tempted to stereotype or judge a book by its cover. Some of us work hard to overcome the tendency toward racism and prejudice.
Others, like demon, play the victim. White American men are the main victims of racism? That is an insult to the real victims of centuries of racism and slavery.
I don't question that demon knows a good bit about racism, but that would be racism from the delivery end.
The stock market is near record highs because American companies are making record profits.
The current P/E ration stands at 15.95 (source: http://www.multpl.com/ ). The historical average is 15.48. Given this, stocks are pretty much fairly valued, based on their profits.
So again :- the reason the stock market is near record highs is because the higher price is justified.
As far as the workforce is concerned, we have about the same number of people employed now as we did when Obama took office (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jobs_created_during_U.S._presidential_terms)
The difference is that when he took office, people were losing their jobs all over, and since he managed to stabilize the economy, we have been recovering and are on our way up. We have had steady job growth for almost 3 years now.
In addition he has significantly reduced the deficit, and it is projected to get significantly lower in the next few years. (Source: http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/federal_deficit_chart.html ) This is all to his credit.
Whether you like it or not, Obama has improved the economy. All the numbers point that way. Mr Romney has no economic argument against Obama.
Yes, Obama hasn't improved the economy to being as good as it was in the Clinton years. When we point out that it was because Mr Bush ruined it by his unpaid wars and give-aways, we are told "Oh, you are just making excuses for Obama." As if more wars and more tax give-aways are going to improve the economy under Romney.
The problem isn't just Mr Romney has no economic argument. He doesn't even have a plan that he is able to articulate. His whole campaign was based not on that he is Governor Romney. His entire campaign was based on "I am not Obama." And with the last debate, he managed to even lose that argument.
Yes it is true that President Obama has not been able to put out all the fires in the Middle East. It is also true that his foreign policies are respectable and responsible, and will lead us out of the longest wars we have ever had. Romney, on the other hand, not so much. His closest advisors, astonishingly, are the same ones who orchestrated the Iraq debacle under W Bush.
The sum total of Obama's foreign policy accomplishments is that he has apologized for America's aggression in each of the Middle East countries that are now ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood! Give him another 4 years and the MB will control Syria and Lebanon too!
Obama's Economic Policy, Foreign Policy, Domestic Policy, etc. etc. have all been failures, that's why he can only attack Romney not tout any previous policy successes!
Obama.... you're Fired!
You people who think that romney is going to bring jobs back to the United states are completely WRONG, The writing is on the wall if you would only open your eyes. Case in point Sensata 200 American Workers lost there jobs, by Bain shipping there jobs overseas. I know Romney is not running that Company Now but nonetheless He started that Company and he could of VERY Easily made a call to the CEO that He Himself picked out and said, Hey I am running for POTUS and it would look good if we keep these jobs Here in The United States and we will make a Buck later down the road, but he didn't He wants to make the Buck NOW. So when it comes to making money over American Jobs he has shown you and me he will take the Money Every time
Speaking of "swing," I just read where Tagg Romney apologized to the President for saying he wanted to take a swing at him.
Didn't surprise me when he said he wanted to throw a punch.
One bully begets another.

No matter how NBC tries to spin it, Obama is being left in the dust, as everything is trending in Romney's direction. Romney doesn't need to win Ohio either, he can also win by winning a combination of other states. Now, today, e-mails surface showing that Obama lied about the attacks in Libya, that the Whit House knew within 2 hrs. that it was a terrorist attack. Figures!
Hey bj,
what does the bj stand for?
Man would you look at all the hate today. Not so much yesterday when there was bad news about Obama. Just one question for the lefties, how many jobs has Obama saved or created? Comparing job growth in Massachusetts 5 years after 2001 recession ended to other states that had already recovered earlier from this recession certainly is cherry picking your statistics. Massachusetts had the slowest recovery of jobs in its recorded history under Romney.
His 4 year rank was 43rd out of 50. This puts him in the lowest 14% of all Governors in that period. Median wage growth in Massachusetts was among the worst in the country during his 4 years as Governor. Romney even balanced his budget by raising fees that hit working people there very hard as well, but he gave the rich a free ride.
Romney...more for the rich... less for the workers.
You MUST mean Obama, Mr. EO.
I do not know who is telling you Democrats this, but jobs are still at a all time low. for the most part, the people who are working are seasonal workers. Not everyone gets a job. The reason the stock market is at a high is because of foreign goods made somewhere else and not in the United States. We do not make hardly anything in the United States. We have Democratic lawmakers that whine including President Obama.
We are fixing to have a healthcare crisis because some langbrain decided that everyone needs the same kind of insurance and the very people at risk of not having insurance is those people 19-24 and 62-65 years of age. The seniors will not save $6000 a year. They will pay out of their pocket over $9000.00 a year. President Obama got rid of the Bus that England give the American people. President Obama has changed the wording of the Constitution to fit his policies. You can't just up and change the words to the Constitution? President Obama thinks people who make $250,000.00 a year is middle class. In reality middle class is people who make $39,000-$79,000 a year. He thinks that people who make $79,000 a year are people who live in proverty. Maybe it is, if there 20 kids in a family. Come on people wake up to reality and living in LALALAND. What about the all that Chicago mess that has been kept out the papers? Yeah he is involved in that too. President Obama's ideas came from his own father idealogy. Beverly,
You and other Democrats speak a LOT about the Republicans 'War on Women', and that's fine. But actions speak louder than words.
It was President Obamas White House that was labled a hostile workplace for women. (By a Democrat btw).
It is under THIS President that has 3.5 million more women under the poverty line than before he took office.
It is in THIS Presidents administration that women make 18% less than their male counterparts.
Make all the 'binder' jokes you want....this President has FAILED.
On Tuesday evening, CBS broke wide open a story on State Department e-mails showing the White House knew on September 11 that the consulate in Benghazi was subjected to a terrorist attack, and that terrorists took credit on Facebook and Twitter. But by Wednesday, the three network morning shows weren't leaping to follow up. ABC and CBS combined devoted just over a minute to the story, while NBC completely ignored it.
By contrast, all three newscasts showed that they were more interested in helping the Democrats in Indiana, aggressively spotlighting Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock's faith-based affirmation that he did not support abortion even in the case of rape, that even those are children "God intended." Mourdock's "controversial comments" drew more than seven and a half minutes of coverage.
CBS This Morning spent the most time on the recently-released e-mails. Anchor Charlie Rose noted during a 52-second short report that "a third alert reported an Islamic military group had claimed responsibility. This is the earliest record so far showing U.S. officials were told it could be a terrorist attack. It became a campaign issue, as Republicans criticized the Obama administration for not calling it terrorism sooner."
However, this was significant downgrade from the two minutes and 17 seconds that CBS Evening News devoted to the story on Tuesday. Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson gave a more detailed timeline than Rose did, and pointed out that the e-mails are "likely to become part of the ongoing political debate over whether the administration attempted to mislead in saying the assault was an outgrowth of a protest, rather than a planned attack by terrorists." Neither ABC's World News nor NBC Nightly News covered the story the same evening.
ABC's Good Morning America devoted less than half the time - 25 seconds - on the Benghazi development than CBS This Morning. News anchor Josh Elliott summarized that "newly-obtained e-mails show the State Department and the White House were advised that a militant group had claimed responsibility just two hours after the attack. For several days after, the White House still publicly attributed the attack to spontaneous protests. Intelligence sources point out other possibly conflicting messages may also have been sent."
This is just the latest instance of the broadcast media being more interested in pursuing a story that might be injurious to Mitt Romney than an actual White House scandal. Earlier in October, ABC, CBS, and NBC all ignored a scoop from the Spanish-language network Univision, who found 57 previously unreported firearms in the Fast and Furious gunwalking controversy that were used by Mexican drug cartels in crimes.
More blatantly, the Big Three devoted 88 minutes during one week in September to the secretly-recorded "47 percent" remark from the former Massachusetts governor, compared to only six and a half minutes of coverage to a 14-year old recording of Obama voicing his support of redistribution of wealth.
The full transcript of Sharyl Attkisson's report from Tuesday's CBS Evening News, along with Charlie Rose's short report from Wednesday's CBS This Morning and Josh Elliott's brief from Wednesday's Good Morning America on ABC:

06:30 pm EDT
CBS Evening News
SCOTT PELLEY (teaser): Sharyl Attkisson has obtained e-mails from the night of the attack on the U.S. ambassador in Benghazi. What the Obama administration knew and did not know.
06:34 pm EDT
PELLEY: It was six weeks ago today that terrorists attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Now, we've obtained e-mail alerts that were put out by the State Department as the attack unfolded. As you know, four Americans were killed, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
Sharyl Attkisson has our story.
SHARYL ATTKISSON (voice-over): The e-mails contain the earliest descriptions so far of what happened at Benghazi the night of the attack. At 4:05 p.m. Eastern time on September 11, an alert from the State Department operations center was issued to a number of government and intelligence agencies - included were the White House Situation Room, the office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the FBI: 'U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi under attack. Approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four chief of mission personnel are in the compound safe haven.'
At 4:54, less than an hour later, another alert: 'The firing in Benghazi has stopped. A response team is on site attempting to locate chief of mission personnel.' Then, at 6:07, State sent out another alert, saying the embassy in Tripoli reported the Islamic military group, Ansar al-Sharia, claims responsibility for Benghazi attack on Facebook and Twitter, and 'has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli'.
The e-mails are just a few in what is likely a large number traded throughout the night, and they're likely to become part of the ongoing political debate over whether the administration attempted to mislead in saying the assault was an outgrowth of a protest, rather than a planned attack by terrorists. Fourteen hours after the attack, President Obama sat down with Steve Kroft of '60 Minutes' for a previously scheduled interview, and said he did not believe it was simply due to mob violence.
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA (from interview on CBS's "60 Minutes"): You're right that this is not a situation that was exactly the same as what happened in Egypt, and my suspicion is that there are folks involved in this who were looking to target Americans from the start.
ATTKISSON (on-camera): The White House and State Department declined comment on the e-mail alerts. The House Oversight Committee, Scott, told us the information in the e-mails will be part of their ongoing investigation into the Benghazi attack.
PELLEY: Sharyl, thank you.

Romney is full of crap, everyone knows that; but you make him look like a sanitary wipe. Why must you right wing freaks lie out your a$$? If Romney did such a great job for those that elected him, why is Obama leading Romney two to one in the only state where Romney held public? Why is it that most of the people of Massachusetts were glad to get rid of Romney? Why is it that you're so full of fecal matter, it spills over even on this site?
Do the world a favor, crawl back in your cesspool and stay there.
Again gov, with the meaningless statistics, all the 3.5 million more woman living in poverty can be traced right back to its rightful owner. President Obama has things going in the right direction, forward. Not back to the same policy's that sunk the Bush administration to worst administration ever. Obama's numbers didn't begin on Jan. 20, 2009. His numbers are now, 32 straight months of positive job growth, we are selling AMERICAN MADE auto's around the world. Both housing starts and sales of existing homes are up, Banks are loaning money again. Wall St. has doubled, and much, much more.
Romney shows nothing, Romney was a failure as governor, even Newt Gingrich said Romney was dishonest. Why on earth would you vote for this guy that you don't have a clue what he stands for. Things he said in the primary or things he is saying now? Or are you just a bigot.
I suspect Feisty to be right about who is opposing Obama with all the hate. Has since the beginning before he was even elected.
I wonder if O'bama has apologized to the man he threw in jail that created the "film?" That is the least he could do dont you think?
Every word is straight out of Fox News, specifically Vanity Hannity. As usual, no evidence to back up the talking points out the Fox liars. Regarding the "women make 18% less" commnet, what shameful Hannity fails to mention is that the women make just as much as the men in their job classification. You see, you dimwitted twit, in the Government workforce, there are fixed pay-scales for the various levels of positions. Everyone and anyone in a certain position gets the same salary, whether they're males, females, or jack a$$es like you.
You republicans can't come up with anything original, so you have to twist reality to suit your needs. And as far as the war on women, Mourdock and Aikin (and mousy Ryan) are looking to criminalize abortion and legalize rape. These scum bags would rather make rape legal than have a woman undergo an abortion if raped.
If you are a woman (and I seriously doubt that) how can you support these Mysoginistic bastards?
To Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL:
I don't believe the enthusiasm in the Romney camp is a bluff.
The Republicans are taking the low road by going through the voter roles in heavily Democratic areas and disqualifying as many as possible on any grounds in those areas from having the right to vote. Combine this with the huge purchase of voting machines by the Romney family that will be used in the states of Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington and Colorado. In case you don't know these machines are easily programmed to give any result you want, recounts are impossible and the software that runs inside of them can't be inspected for legitimacy by anyone from the government to judicial levels since they claim that would reveal patented information.
The political climate recently seems to be a direct assault on the Constitution and the rights of the many to participate in a fair and free election.
The American people are being slowly disenfranchised of their rights by the elite who feel that their corporate and wealthy interests trump all. The public, to the elite, are mindless pawns best set to squabble against one another while they transform our country into theirs.
Anyone who sanctions actions such as these in order to win an election is fighting against democracy. These despots who despise democracy pose an even greater danger to the American people than any foreign group of combatants allied against the USA; since they are destroying our political-social-economic system from within.
If you want your President to be telling the truth, then it’s time for a new President. And when a Democrat has lost David Letterman, and when Letterman tells people that the Republican was more honest than the Democrat, that is going to leave a big mark on Obama’s efforts to woo low-information voters, the very people Obama is trying to woo with his appearances on Entertainment Tonight, the late-night comedy shows, and MTV.
Obama, why do you continue to lie about the death of four Americans in Bengahzi,Libya, man-up! Have a press conference, tell America the truth. You have not had a press conference in seven weeks, you are a coward, and a failure!
I am not so afraid of Mitt Romney as I am of the people behind the scenes that are pulling his strings. There are a lot of power hungry millionaires donating to his campaign that have an agenda of their own and will expect their bought and paid for president to follow their agenda once elected and I guarantee it will not be in the best interest of the general public. Right now Mitt Romney is being told to say anything, be it left, right or in the middle, to get elected. Agree with everyone and fool them all! That scares the hell out of me. I certainly hope the electoral college is not fooled by Romney's pandering. I'm an Independent and my vote is for the person who has all of America's best interest at heart and that is President Obama.
Backhouse
WARNING to Women of America:
The Romney way is to get elected first - then govern as he pleases.
Kinda like hopey changey followed by executive order?
Then you must not be voting for Obama.
The Obama campaign has finally, the day after the debates, come up with the President's economic plan for the next 4 years. The plan is devoid of detail and budgetary information but is full of wishful thinking. Obamanomics is really impossiblenomics. This is one of the parts that I like the best"
Four years ago, without conditions of any kind to include any act of congress, the President promised that the 2012 federal deficit would not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet in fact it exceeded 1.1 trillion dollars. That says a lot for the President's fiscal planning and sense of budget. For the past 4 years the President has been proposing a tax increase on the "rich" that congress has yet to pass. This increase in taxes would at most divert 100 billion dollars per year from the private sector to the public sector. The federal government has been trying to spark the economy by injecting more money. This move will have the opposite effect and will do little to solve our debt problem. so using 2012 figures the federal government will still have a trillion dollar debt to deal with.
According to the President's nomination acceptance speech, the troops will be coming home in 2014 so by 2015 the peace dividend will be in full effect. According to the President's plan, he is expecting to net more than 2 trillion dollars per year by bringing the troops home. It will take at least 1 trillion dollars to balance the budget and of course that has to be done before we can start running a surplus. Balancing the budget is done with just half of the peace dividend. That is why the peace dividend will have to be greater than 2 trillion dollars per year. So the President is claiming that we are spending more than two trillion dollars per year on the war on Afghanistan which is less than true. If the federal government cut out all defense spending that then cut the rest of the budget in half it would not generate the required savings. The President's plan is fantasy economics. The President's plan is mathematically impossible. It is the President who needs more math education.
Will someone in the Obama Adminstration please Leak Romneys Tax Years and release his Record of getting Amnesty, If you dont want to do it send it to me and I will Happily do it, no Questions asked. I am tired of the RWNJ and lets finally put to rest this ROMNESIA PERSON
Obama/Biden 2012 We dont need any more Romnesia
How about Obamanesia, all those promises that the President made and forgot to keep? The President has a habit of saying things that sound good at the time but turn out to be just bs.
Well, well...here comes 'Sally Has Rocks in Her Head', channeling Donald Trump.
You're both a waste of time.
Vote for President Obama to get the cure for "romnesia"!
GO TIGERS!
Long time reader – oft time poster here and I feel the need to comment on yesterday’s rightwing ‘impression’. They have the bar set so completely low for their team’s candidate that if he doesn’t sit there at a debate and drool – they take a victory lap.
It’s embarrassing; but they don’t even seem ashamed in the slightest.
Which is how we ended up with W.
Folks, we cannot afford the International stigma of a 3rd W term. And R$mney proves every day that with 17 of W’s Foreign Policy Advisors, he aspires to nothing BETTER than repeating the Cowboy Diplomacy.
This is definitely a Get Out The Vote campaign. And we cannot afford to sit idly by while these Neanderthals attempt to take our country ‘back’ to the 80’s in Foreign Policies, the 50’s in Social Policies and the 20’s in Economic Policies.
So when my good friend, Chris – from Michigan tells you to VOTE like your life depends on it, it’s not hyperbole – it is a FACT! Your life depends on it and the lives of all of us depend on it!

Worth a read, it says it all about Obama.
Washington Post Hits Obama Hard
As I’m sure you know, the Washington Post newspaper has always had a reputation for being extremely liberal, so the fact that its editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama in its newspaper makes this a truly amazing event and a news story in and of itself. Finally, the truth about our President and his obvious agenda is starting to trickle through the ‘protective walls’ built by our liberal media.
By Matt Patterson (columnist - Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner) Government & Society:
Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages.
How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world's largest economy, direct the world's most powerful military, execute the world's most consequential job?
Imagine a future historian examining Obama's pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a "community organizer"; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote "present"); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.
He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama's "spiritual mentor"; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama's colleague and political sponsor.
It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?
Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day.
But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberaldom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass - held to a lower standard - because of the color of his skin.
Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) "non-threatening," all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?
Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon - affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.
Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow.
Liberals don't care if these minority students fail; liberals aren't around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist.
Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin - that's affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn't racism, then nothing is.
And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate.
All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.
What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks?
In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama's oratory skills, intellect, and cool character.
Those people - conservatives included - ought now to be deeply embarrassed. The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that's when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all.
Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it's all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.
And what about his character?
Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles.
Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess.
It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence.
But really, what were we to expect?
The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?
In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job.
When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.
Just for you, Joann in Pennsylvania- because you are so very concerned about how many people go to Romney /Ryan rallies
http://www.denverpost.com/ci_21839256/romney-ryan-rally-at-red-rocks
They packed a 10,000 seat amphitheater, and had to turn thousands away because there was no room.
Just for you, NBC's own intrepid reporters
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/10/24/us-usa-benghazi-emails-idUSBRE89N02C20121024
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/23/wh_knew_terrorists_took_credit_attack_hours_after_attack_in_benghazi.html
Investigative fever-catch it. Â It seems to be the "in" thing among your colleagues; they seem affronted at having been lied to, over and over, about an event that led to the deaths of four Americans.
How on earth anyone could possibly vote for a man so venal he would stand in front of cameras and LIE because it might hurt his election chances is beyond my capacity to understand.
Oh, wait- you're okay with his lying about his own dying mother. Â Thank heaven, you are in the minority
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2012/10/23/post-abc-tracking-poll-romney-49-percent-obama-48/?print=1
Forget the top line- the important number is the twelve point advantage Romney has with independent voters in this poll. Â It's pretty funny about that- every election since I can remember, independent voters were the Holy Grail of the electorate- but this time, we almost never hear them mentioned. Â Since I'm a cynic, I view it as a sign of media bias- after all, Romney has led with independents in every poll this cycle-but perhaps the media has a different explanation for ignoring 30% of the electorate.
I cannot comprehend the media adulation for someone who holds you and your profession in such contempt
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/24/iowa-newspaper-blasts-obama-camp-for-off-the-record-interview-demand/
Then again, I've seen such toxic relationships before. Â After the election, I'm quite sure you will rediscover a little something called "journalistic integrity"- just in time to dig into anything and everything President Romney does- and present it in as negative a light as you can manage.
Obama is sticking to the game plan- despite the fact that his game plan doesn't work
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/23/obama-to-appear-on-mtv/
Then again, neither do his policies, although they certainly cost enough. Â Just a couple more weeks, and Obama can have a full time career of being famous for being famous- maybe MSNBC will give him his very own show, to be broadcast from the beach in Hawaii.
Aloha, Obama.
Hmmm, let's recap: No jo, who claims to be without prejudice is in love with Romney, who is against the right for gays to marry those they love.
Does that make her a bigot, given no jo's definition of the word?
Newday
It makes her correct.
Correct about what? Hypocrisy? You can't be for something and vote for someone who is against it.
NDD
If you try and follow NoJos "logic" it will make you dizzy.
According to NoJo because the Whitehorse received emails where an Islamic Militant group claimed credit for the attack..it MUST be true and MUST be acted upon immediately.
True or not..the claim of credit must be acted upon without verification because thats how a real president shows leadership
Speaking of toxic relationships, poor NoJoJugs got a bitter turndown from none other than Spanky when she asked him out on a date to FreakyFest. Perhaps NoJoJugs can use that tactic to gain Romney votes. That will be a sure election loser.
newday -- assuming you voted for obama in 2008 when he was against gay marriage you too must have been against gay marriage.
did you change your position when obama changed his (for the third time; i know, this is called evolving)
NDD-
Apparently you can if you are a Republican, just like you can ignore then reverse your position on just about anything and still get the Republican vote.
The same party who blasted John Kerry for saying he was "for it before he was against it" has now made that their modus operandi.
Romney/Ryan = Pretzel logic and fantasy math.
billybob -
It is a false equivalency to compare President Obama's position on gay marriage to Romney's complete reversal of position.
President Obama was in favor of civil unions and has always been a supporter of Gay Rights - he even repealed DADT. It was just a small step left to being in favor of Gay MArriage, and he freely acknowledged how and why his position changed.
Romney ignores his prior positions, and refuses to offer an explanation or even admit he had a prior position. Big Difference.
Rick-3416939
It may come as a big shock to you, but the Washington Post has a wide spectrum of opinions, ranging from center-left to wingnut right. There are more center-lefties, but their numbers are balanced by the high volume of noise generated by the hysterical rightwing crackpots they publish.
And no, the crap you posted is NOT worth a read.
Obama wouldn't even do an on-the-record interview for a newspaper... something Romney did earlier in the month. Apparently they wouldn't give him a script to memorize before doing the "interview" and he got scared.
Iowa newspaper blasts Obama camp for 'off-the-record' interview demand
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/24/iowa-newspaper-blasts-obama-camp-for-off-the-record-interview-demand/?hpt=hp_t2
P.S.
I see NBC removed all trace of new evidence of Obama's continued lying about Benghazi despite it obviously being the most important news of the day and the top story on real news sites. Save the Emporer at all costs!!!
White House knew of extremist claims in Benghazi attack
http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/24/us/libya-benghazi-e-mails/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
First Romney dismissed 47% of the American People as being lazy tax scammers.
Now Romney's base, the wackos, zombies, and nut jobs, are holding him back.
Obama/Biden 2012
Mr. President, enjoy your second term.
Obama/Biden 2012
TNSEVOL: It is the great flip and flop from the Republican party. Always.
Ssreeeeminglib: I gave up on no jo's logic long ago.
billybob: your President was for civil unions, which at the time I thought would be the best we could get out of this nation, giving the amount of fringe right wingers. I am for full civil rights for gays, and so is your President.
Rick-
Joseph Goebbels and Karl Rove are so proud of you for posting this wreched propagnda.

You guys are pathetic. Completely and utterly.

NICE TRY!!!
That article was never published in the Washington Post. Google Matt Patterson and click on the snopes link.
Did you verify the spam mail before you posted it here, or are you intentionally muddling the waters? Why are TPRepubs so stupid to think we won't check out the krap they post here?
Feisty -- What's scary is, wasn't NJNB teaching at one time?
DCIA,
Over the years, Snookie has also claimed to be a doctor, lawyer & Indian Chief!
Amen Clara! Beautifully stated!
LOL, Feisty!
... I am with Obama ... women only need a handful of colored pills and some honor killings. As it says on Obama's wedding band " There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet " ... sharia law for all Beaches. Right on Obama.
newDay,
it's the mitt flip flop way!
Oh, you mean like Obama NOT being for Gay marriage until it was convenient for him to be?
Or promising my wife that he would push for GMO labeling and then not doing anything about it except allowing TEN more GMO crops to be introduced.
Or promising an open, non secretive administration and then hiding behind EOs, Sealed Documents and Executive privilege to TRY to stay out of trouble (Birth Cert, Education, Passport, Libya and Fast and Furious come to mind immediately)
Ah, that is enough for me.
Fiesty, will your contract continue past the election, or is this a seasonal gig?
Fiesty,
Ok, you dont want to answer, thats fine. Lets make a wager. If Romney wins California, you post under a different name. If O'bama takes California, I will delete Kornfed's account. This is a bet that you cant lose!
Feisty seems to be losing her votes as fast as Obama. The great divider and biggest group of cover up artists are about to be voted out of office. Government transparency.... right, not with this administration. If they didn't lie about anything their wouldn't be anything heard from them, aka everything they say is twisted and opaque. They are counting on a dumbed up voter turnout coming in to save the day, not gonna happen. It just can't get worse than what sits in the whitehouse now, even Carter looks like a genius with these guys.
Speaking of Fox News.......................did you know that when you do search on...... Fox news dumber.....you see actual studies that show people who watch Fox news are actually dumber after watching Fox news? Really! So do search on...Fox news dumber...and see those studies!!!
Romney swung so far right last debate.....Tagg took a poke at his old man for calling himself a liar!
Romney swung so far left last debate during the debate... He endorsed Barrack Obama for president, dumped ANN and then tried to get a date with Michelle Obama!
You are much better at copy and paste starsailing
Well.....who the hell is Mittster today?..........Mitt loves dressing up on Halloween......Most people dress up as one character or object......Mitt ends up wearing bits and pieces of many costumes.....can't make up his mind who or what he wants to be......just like everyday the rest of the year!
Thanks Korn...coming from you I take that as a compliment!
ROMNEY IS STILL THE SAME MAN HE WASN'T BACK IN JUNE!
Romney has a long term plan alright...and that plan is not to have a plan, and to not talk about his plan of not having a plan, because every plan that Romney planned, was not the plan, that he previously had planned.
The plans he did have were also the plans he did not have before he said they are his plans. The plans he didn't have were the plans he said he had when he needed to have plans because he had no plans.
Prresident Obama/Biden 2012....you can plan on that
Rick, that read was a waste of my time. No facts, just insults. Right, now that I read that, I believe the president is evil, and now I am going to vote for Romney so the corrupt rich can raid my pension, 401k, take my house, take my social security, send my son to a fake war, and now take away my grandchildren's education. Wtf. The corporate corrupt rich would love for us to all fight eachother for limited resources than to have to participate in America where their business started and was built with by the workers of America. Why would anyone vote for Romney so that we can hand over all of our rights and all of the returns of the programs we have invested on to the rich because they are holding us hostage for jobs that they will not deliver on. It's about trust. Why would anyone trust Romney?
vote Obama
ROMNEY FOREIGN POLICY PLANS.
REMOVE THE REST OF AMERICA JOBS TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES.
REMOVE ALL HIS MONEY TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES TO AVOID PAYING ANY AMERICAN TAXES.
Romney vows to be tough on BeckyBeckyBeckystan. Vows to punish BeckyBeckyBeckystan by outlawing any capital gains taxes there. Vows to punish the middle class and poor there by making them pay the taxes for the rich. Vows to take away all healthcare the first day in office..Vows to destroy their Social Security. Vows to end all taxes on the rich 1%.
Yes Romney vows to be as tough on BeckybeckyBeckystan as he will be on America!!!

Mitt, Ann and Tagg purchased a company called Solamere, electronic voting machines in Nov 2011. They are distributed through out the country. So do you think he is trying to steal the votes, these machines are notoriously known for their faulty results, how convenient. This is so wrong and a conflict of interests, they should all be banned from every voting poll, guess they didn't learn anything from Florida.
Independent voters, you should really do your homework on Romney before voting for him, he has flip flopped so many times, no one really knows what his policy is. All I know this is no leader, he showed that in the last 2 debates, he knows nothing about foreign affairs and that should scare the hell out of everyone. Don't just vote for him because you think he is going to get jobs, the question is what kind of jobs, Staples, Walmart, Kmart, minimum wage jobs, because that is all he has every produced when it comes to jobs. You also need to see what a mess he left MA in, don't take my word for it, do some research and you will be surprised on how many lies he has told about his record in MA, hell just ask the people, they are not even backing him.
I would just like to know why no one who is pro-Obama never will comment on how they can justify Obama being so connected and to so respect Jeremiah Wright, and still say he is for all Americans. Wright hates whites and damns America..,Is this the kind of person you would want your President to feel an affinity yo? I don't understand it.
Jersey...easy....President OBama is not........Now Sarah Palin was not a rascist...not until she met Tod.....Sarah was on her bus tour few years back and everyone heard the story about her black boyfriend, she shut the bus tour down and quit her bid. Sarah was just talking trash about the president.....while she used to be "shucking and jiving" a black athelete! Sarah loved blacks...Teabaggers don't...now she doesn'r because she can make money pretending she doesn't like blacks.....the little darling really wanted to be vice president under President Obama!
Kennen and Tammy,
Lybia issue, not my number one concern right now.
Vote Obama, make the fat cat corporation brats pay for America!
Wake up
of course Lybia is not your number one concern. Would it be because Barry and his goons are not even smart enough to know how to cover-up? It was just four "Americans" killed, what's the big deal, That's no big concern.
Is it just me, or does starsailing look very familiar? Oh, wait a minute, they're letting Blagovich play with the prison computer again......
It's very simple, folks. Take away the name calling of the Dem's, the cover-ups of the Administration, the beating up of American values....and what do you have left?
Romney/Ryan 2012
Vote for the most notorious liar to ever win the nomination for President of the United States. Absolutely no one knows the Romney plan, including Romney. He only knows that he deserves to be President at any cost. Winning and holding that office is his only goal. Once he is sworn in, he expects his backers will tell him exactly what to do. Any five yr. old that knows how to hold a pen and sign his name to every paper thrust before him by his guardians is capable of a Romney Presidency.
We recently took this path with Howdy Doody and Darth Vader. Howdy Doody believed himself to be the "Decider" as Darth Vader pulled all of his strings. Together, they brought us and the free world to the precipice of disaster to rival the worst American crisis in history. The Great Depression.
We threw their butts out and hired a new team to clean up the mess. The new team did a remarkable job of recovery considering their every effort was severely obstructed by leading members of the old guard. That old guard now insists that our slower than desired progress lies at the feet of the new team while neglecting to mention their own constant concentrated efforts to assure failure.
They now propose another puppet to do their bidding by the name of Romney with the very same proposals as Howdy Doody. They believe us all to be fools. You may oblige them by voting for their latest clown to finish our ultimate destruction. I will not. Your vote will give them the ticket to assure the demise of the greatest nation to ever grace the Earth by destroying a government for the people and by the people and replace it with a corporate government blind to the needs of it's people.
Regardless of the results of election 2012, we will have the government we deserve at your hands or mine. I'm betting on the American people to rise in defense of the greatest nation ever instead of a plutocracy that serves only the elite.
Please can someone ask Mitt why he feels he's a "job creator"? Bain is not a company that ever tried to help failing companies become successful but rather a company that finds companies that have assets that can be taken out of them. The proof of this is that Bain ALWAYS MAKES MONEY off the company whether the company thrives or goes under. If the company ends up successful, (Staples) that's just a coincidence. If the company goes under and there's a pension fund that can be raided, that's fine with Bain. If Bain can increase their bottom line by outsourcing American jobs, that's even better! Romney was NEVER a "job creator", but an exploiter, just like Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry said.
Honest question (somewhat)....Why is there no screaming, foaming at the mouth commentary from conservatives now that Mitt Romney has walked back from virtually every position he held during the primary season? Why, now that he is sweating and twitching his way as fast as he can to the middle is there no outraged sentiment of his betrayal of, "conservative principles"? And if the silence is because they know he is now saying absolutely anything to be elected and it is all, "wink, wink" in conservative circles, then why is there no objection to his hypocritical lying and pandering? Just wondering.....
truedat, Mitt Romney is a, "wealth creator", not a, "job creator" and I think that his oft-repeated, "12 million" jobs lines is perhaps pulled out of his butt.
Romney is a job creator....IN CHINA!
Romney vows to be tough on China. When the Chinese start asking for higher wages working on those American jobs he gave them, he will get tough by sending the Guatemalans he had working on his lawns for years to take the jobs in China!
Romney swung so far left during the debate he took a swing at his son Tagg after debate for wanting to take a swing at the president!
Romney swung so far left during the debate he is now going to show his taxes!
As my favorite talking man just said, "It is as if Bush went to a restaurant, ordered lavishly, dined and dashed and then, "the black guy" sat down at the same table, they stick him with the bill and then have the stones to blame him for it, even more if he dares to complain about it".
President Obama killed Bin Laden.
Snidley whiplash Romney killed American jobs and still doing it as we type!
Romneys advisers (17 of 24 of them) helped kill thousands of our troops and helped thousands more get wounded (and still dying from the wounds).
Vote President Obama/Biden and Team America, they ended the war in Iraq and killed Bin Laden!
Don't put words on my posts Romney, I mean Floyd.
Make corporations invest in America. Vote for Obama! Belive the nuns on the bus!
Lessons learned... don't elect a public speaker, all blow no go. He is more interested in golf and basketball while his mishap advisors make all the bad decisions while he pencil whips his work. Start the press and print money and borrow oh and lie is all he knows... Romney at least has a clue about how to run a business aka the way this country needs to be run right now. Obama well he knows how to divide and hide, quite simply offering four more of the same. The only positive he had going for him was legalization of weed, beyond that he is worthless. It will be good to see him, Pelosi, Harry and Hillary gone from the limelight. He even said not to vote for him if he didn't get it done in four...Obama /Biden=fail.
Stop funding the illegals....? Romney is the one funding the illegals...hired Guatemalans for 7-8 years to work on his lawn...when caught...they hired more....When caught again...Romney did not turn them in..he just turned them loose!!!!!! Your Mittster...funding illegals in chief, and job creator in CHINA!
p
You have repeated this 18 times (word for word) that I counted - possibly more!!!
10 times in one article!
And that doesn't include the paragraph where you just rearranged a few words and basically plastered that "modified" version everywhere.
We get it that you hate Obama dude. Jeez
The above article about Obama, written by Matt Peterson was presented in "the American Thinker" a conservative blog. Although I am sure there are some who will outright dismiss it as a "right wing" attack, it was a very well written piece published in August 2011.
Bain Capital has many divisions - Venture capital is but one branch (it is however the one that is focused on as this is the one where people can point fingers - Americans losing jobs, Company moving to China make much better headlines -especially during a recession and election period).

Obama pretended that he didn't know and lied for two weeks in order to hide his incompetence and now he is caught. This one is NOT going to be swept under the rug.
Ching chong
According to Reuters correspondent Hadeel AlShalchi's 9-12-12 report:
As I've said before: WHO CARES? Benghazi is a non-issue.
So I guess we should follow the Republican playbook and use their 911 logic. We were attacked in Libya - I guess we should invade China...
To the conservatives living on Planet Denial: Mitt Romney dropped Benghazi like a hot potato after having his LIAR Clock cleaned in the second debate....clearly conservatives missed that point. Here's a question, why weren't you asking for Bush's impeachment after 9/11, where was your outrage then? Why is it republicans spend their time politicizing the tragic deaths of 4 Americans while ignoring that it was republicans in Congress who cut embassy security funds by nearly $500 million over 2 years? Using the deaths on 9/11 or in Benghazi as political footballs is simply UNAMERICAN.
Mitt Romney lost the second and third presidential debates, Ryan lost the VP debate--deal with it!! Changing the subject doesn't change the facts.
Obama/Biden 2012. Forward with 4 more for 44!!!
Irving -
WRONG! Benghazi is an issue, because Obama lied about it.
There were several things Obama could have done to prevent or mitigate what happened.
1. He could have beefed up security - instead he actually cut back security for the ambassador.
2. He could have evacuated the ambassador since he did not wand to upgrade security.
3. He could have sent in a rescue team or air support to break up the attack - he didn't, even though there was a drone in the area watching tha attack.
While you are free to believe what you wish, you are not free to change the facts to suit yourself.
Obama knew it was an attack within minutes of the start of it. He knew who claimed responsibility within 2 hours of the start of the attack. The attack continued for hours, so it was ongoing while the perpetrators were claiming responsibility.
Obama failed in his responsibility as Comander-in-Chief by not doing everything within his power to keep the ambassador safe, and failing that, by taking no action to rescue the ambassador.
Tammy-
You are wrong.
The Benghazi story is 100% Right-wing Fascist Propaganda.
It's truly Un-American and discusting.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Salud
Tammy
Scarce resources due to security cutbacks in State Dept 2012 requested budget of $300 million by Congress forced security cutbacks in most of our 279 consulates, embassies, and trade missions around the world.
Any one of these locations could have been attacked. That budget cutbacks made in security for our brave diplomats shows how STUPID the cost-cutting of Republican House can be. These House Republicans should bear much of the blame for deaths in Benghazi consulate where any improvements in security became impossible because of these budget cutters.
You choose to blame the administrator who allocated the cutbacks in security around the world. Many consulates and embassies receive threats and over 30 have been attacked in past 40 years.
You should blame the cost-cutters here. Government serves many useful purposes, but Republicans like to pretend cutting costs is easy. Sometimes, as in the case of Benghazi, cost-cutting results in Americans dying.
The Benghazi issue is very important because OBAMA LIED... and he REPEATED THE LIE many times ! Only the Obama leg-humpers wish to make it a non-issue. Of course, the President invoking "executive privilege" to quash the investigation into the "Fast and Furious" program was merely a predecessor COVERUP !
Why Obama lied so much to the American people right before the elections is now becoming quite clear ... maintaining HIS POWER through re-election is more important to him than telling the truth to U.S. citizens!
Tammy at #3.6:
There's sooooo much wrong with your post ...
1. He could have beefed up security - instead he actually cut back security for the ambassador. WRONG - OBAMA DIDN'T CUT FUNDING, CONGRESS DID.
2. He could have evacuated the ambassador since he did not wand to upgrade security. STEVENS WORKS OUT OF THE EMBASSY AT TRIPOLI. HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE CONSULATE IN BENGHAZI DUE TO THE KNOWN DANGERS AND REDUCED SECURITY.
3. He could have sent in a rescue team or air support to break up the attack - he didn't, even though there was a drone in the area watching tha attack. DO YOU THINK OBAMA SITS AROUND ALL DAY WATCHING LIVE DRONE FOOTAGE? WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE RESPONSE TIME TO GET TROOPS FROM A LOCAL BASE TO THE CONSULATE?
While you are free to believe what you wish, you are not free to change the facts to suit yourself. YOU SHOULD BE LOOKING IN THE MIRROR. NONE OF YOUR COMMENTS MAKE ANY SENSE.
THE AMBASSADOR WOULD HAVE BEEN SAFE IN TRIPOLI, WHERE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN. DO YOU THINK IT TAKES A PRESIDENTIAL ORDER TO RESPOND TO AN ATTACK LIKE THIS? WHERE WAS THE MILITARY? WHAT IS THEIR RESPONSE TIME? I BELIEVE THEY GOT THERE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE - HOW SOON DO YOU THINK THEY COULD HAVE GOTTEN THERE?
Tammy, Did you even read the article posted above? It is written by people who were there, not sitting in their living room at home.
Probably pretty damn quick if their requests for more security for WEEKS before the attack had been granted. As for Irving and Tomas "non issue"???? SERIOUSLY tell that to the families of the 4 Americans. Your anti-American stance is positively disgusting! I hear they're looking for a new Ambassador to Libya -- are you volunteering?
thomasGrande-It's truly disgusting and COMPLETELY UNAMERICAN to defend Obama's flat outlying to the people that employ him, WE THE PEOPLE deserve much better than being treated like idiots who will beleive hook ,line and sinker every sleazy damned lie that comes out of BO's mouth. ONE AND DONE!!! Aloha Obama!!!
Why has the President's men sat on this plan for his second term? What is the plan? What is this new booklet all about? "100,000 new teachers, investment in infrastructure, tax breaks to families that create U.S. jobs, tax cuts to middle-class families, balanced deficit reduction"
Feisty Redhead Roselle,Il
Why are so many people like YOU - - - CUTTING AND PASTING some other authors rhetoric and not writing for themselves???
WHY IS IT WOMEN are the biggest offenders of this and tend to RAMBLE on and on and on BUT DON'T SAY anything??
TWO WEEKS LEFT AND OBAMA STILL DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE?????????????????
Obama's leads are widening in 8 out of 10 battle ground states.
The Obama campaign has finally released the transcript of his endorsement interview with the Des Moines Register–and it is clear why they were reluctant to do so: the President says he has “absolutely” no regrets about ignoring the economy during the first two years of his term, when Democrats controlled Congress.
Here is the key part of the exchange:
Q: Yes, that begs a question from us, Mr. President. Some say you had a super majority in your first two years and had this incredible opportunity, but because of what you were talking about, as you were running, you had to go to get Obamacare done. Do you have any regrets taking on some of the economic issues, some of the issues that we’re talking about for your second term, that when you had the chance, so to speak, during your first — do you have any regrets that you didn’t do that at that time?
THE PRESIDENT: Absolutely not, Laura. Remember the context. First of all, Mitch McConnell has imposed an ironclad filibuster from the first day I was in office. And that’s not speculation. I mean, this is — it’s amply recorded. He gave a speech saying, my task is to defeat the President.
So we were able to pass emergency action with the stimulus, but we had to get two votes from Republicans…
Obama’s response is misleading. Republicans made no such filibuster threat at the outset of his first term. He refers to remarks made by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in late 2010, not in late 2008 or early 2009. Republicans made no such threat, and in fact attempted to work together with the then-popular Obama.

I love all the propaganda the Repuklicans spew from their unamerican mouths. The truth is Obama does not lie about anything....deal with it. Romney on the other hand lies on just about anything, there is even a term for it (romnesia). I thank God he sent Barak Obama to lead this great nation of ours. We would see the darkness if anyone other than Obama were in charge. He has lead us to the light! Everyone know this to be true....all you unpatriotic lying repuklicans can go eat s.....t. God is on our side, not yours.....4 more for our great President!!
OBAMA/BIDEN 2012 vote early and vote often.......
If you feel that President Obama has not lied, well, let's look at one statement during his campaign in 2008. I shall bring ALL Americans together, no longer two parties, but all Americans. Excuse me, has this been done? I have been voting for the past 40 years, never have I seen such decisiveness and horrible language and hatred between the two parties, shame on us Americans, this can only mean our ultimate failure in this country and the world.
presidentofusa..........GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!! HERE IS YOUR CLUE! Sunny lady.....Your repubs failed America...ON PURPOSE!!!!
REPUBS CAUSE THE ECONOMY TO GROW SLOW, THEN WHINE THAT IT IS NOT GROWING!
RYAN SABOTAGES THE ECONOMY. REPUBS BLOCK BRINGING OFFSHORE JOBS BACK TO AMERICA.
REPUBS DO THEIR BEST TO MAKE AMERICA WORSE!
From dailykos.com 9/6/12 by keepemhonest Story : MAtt APPUZZO FACT CHECK THIS.2009 PAUL RYAN PLOTTED TO SABOTAGE THE ECONOMY.
So, allow me to educate Matt Apuzzo with real facts that really led to the Republican's plotted obstruction to guarantee legislative cluster-f@ck.
FACT 1. In Robert Draper's book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives" Draper wrote that on inauguration night, 2009, during a four hour, "invitation only" meeting with GOP Hate-Propaganda Minister, Frank Luntz, the below listed Senior GOP Law Writers literally plotted to sabotage, undermine and destroy America's Economy.
FACT 2: Draper wrote the guest list included:
FACT 3: Newt Gingrich confirms meeting took place in an interview with Al Sharpton's Politics Nation on June 12, 2012
FACT 4: Two months after Paul Ryan's covert meeting where they plotted to sabotage the US Economy, in March 2009, Rep. Pete Sessions said Republicans should follow the model of the Taliban in its battles against President Obama.
In the March 2009 interview with National Journal Rep Sessions said:
Rep Pete Sessions went on to say:
FACT 5: Also, at the January 20, 2009 meeting they plotted to suddenly stop supporting any Stimulus Legislation, even though, they all supported Bush/Cheney Stimulus legislation.
FACT 6: Remember, these same Republican members of Congress supported the very Bush/Cheney policies that caused America to teeter on the brink of the 2nd Great Depression and caused the 2007 US Economic Meltdown.
And these same Republican members of Congress:
Not only did these Senior members of Congress plot to destroy the American Economy more than it already was destroyed? They actually carried out their mission:
FACT 7: Last year, during the Debt Ceiling negotiations, Eric Cantor and Sen. Jon Kyl abruptly walked out of negotiations and refused to renew discussions with Democrats. As a result, America's credit rating was lowered which put a smile on Republican's faces.
FACT 8: Meanwhile, the 2009 Sabotage the U.S. Economy covert meeting members, Senators: Jim DeMint, Jon Kyl, Tom Coburn, John Ensign, and Bob Corker have:
FACT 9: The House members who attended the 2009 Sabotage America meeting have been busy rejecting legislation that helps victims of natural disaster.
FACT 10: Paul Ryan and these other same failed Congressmen have been on tv constantly chanting the lie that they were guilty of ... the lie that "President Obama's policies undermine the US Economy."
There are more facts listed...but I think you get the point. repubs obstruct for the greed of money and for their own party to benefit from the greedy rich!
Ricardo...What light are you seeing that many others have not? What God are you speaking of when you say he is on the Your side? Jeremiah Wright's (look him up...I bet you don't even know who he is) interpretation of God, and his white-hating, "God damn America" sermons, the ones preached at Obama's church for 20 years?
God sent Barack Obama to lead the country...You are getting into scary territory now. I guess God smiles upon those who follow someone who preaches hate for whites (or anyone) and hate for America.
Stop blaming Obama for everything Jeremiah Wright does/says. Obama doesn't control him. They're two separate people. Obama has done an outstanding job under the toughest circumstances of possibly any other president before him. And the fact that republicans spent the past four years fighting against him instead of for our country is despicable.
Starsailing-I'll be so happy to see this election over with. Meaning I won't have to see any more of your BS posts!!! What are you going to do without your friday night beer and pretzels?? But then I suppose they'll find something to pay you to post on!!
Obama also lied when he says he kept faith with the service members. He signed the bills that forced the military to cut back man power. Good enlisted servicemen and women in middle ranks were given their pink slips. People with bright futures in the military. Honest hard working Americans. They were forced to join the ranks of the unemployed. How is that good for the economy? Veterans have the highest unemployment rate of any minority in the United States.
Rather than look at how much money is spent on the DOD take a look at how the money is spent. Currently Colt Firearms holds the contract to provide the general issue M-16 and M-4 rifles to the troops. Colt Corporate HQ has been with Walther in Germany for some years now. The tax money we spend on those rifles profits the economy of Germany. The general issue sidearm is a rather unreliable Beretta model 92 9mm. Beretta is a Italian company. More tax dollars leaving the U.S. Should the weapons the troops are issued not be made by an American company based in the U.S. ? At least that way money spent to arm the troops is cycled back into the U.S. economy rather than a foreign economy. This is just one example.
In the end one must give the job to the candidate who possesses the highest degree of experience and qualification to do the job you want done. This is the way that anyone should get a job. Obama has simply not accomplished what he said he would do. He made promises that he knew could not be kept just to win a nearly fixed election.
It is my personal disposition that Obama is not qualified to do the job he was hired for. He got the job mostly to spite the GOP as so many were angry with the Republican party, most any Dem would have won.
Romney has run a business. He has balanced budgets in the past. He has worked across party lines to get things done even if he did have to give a little (that is how negotiating is done). He is simply more qualified to work on the problems currently facing this great nation and her great people.
I know I will not change the minds of the party hardliners among you but I urge you to take a close look at the qualifications and accomplishments of the candidates applying for the job in question. Stop listening to the attack adds and look at what matters. Obama attacks but has little to no record to run on. Romney has a record of accomplishments that back up his claim that he is qualified to handle the job.
Governors have no choice but to balance budgets. Doesn't sound like he plans to balance the federal one thought with 4.8 trillion in new tax cuts in additon to renewing the Bush tax cuts. ouch....
Like with his 800 vetoes in 4 yrs as governor?
with unprecedented filibusters and bill blocking on all initiatives to boost the economy by repubs...
WRONG!!!
http://budget.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=252305
President George Bush introduced the fiscal 2009 budget in February of 2008 which was passed long before Obama so much as won the election.
President Obama presented the FY2010 budget this in Feb 2009, the FY11 budget in Feb 2010 and the FY12 budget in Feb 2011.
To the contrary - $700 B was cut from Medicare (only from overhead) without any effect on benefits.
WRONG.... less the funds were monitored very closely with strict requirements/verification keeping the fraud rate below .4 %
this was investigated and AG Holder was cleared of all accusations.
need I continue???
Too Many Mitts
Nowhere has Mitt Romney’s pursuit of the presidency been more warmly welcomed or closely followed than here in Utah. The Republican nominee’s political and religious pedigrees, his adeptly bipartisan governorship of a Democratic state, and his head for business and the bottom line all inspire admiration and hope in our largely Mormon, Republican, business-friendly state.
But it was Romney’s singular role in rescuing Utah’s organization of the 2002 Olympics from a cesspool of scandal, and his oversight of the most successful Winter Games on record, that make him the Beehive State’s favorite adopted son. After all, Romney managed to save the state from ignominy, turning the extravaganza into a showcase for the matchless landscapes, volunteerism and efficiency that told the world what is best and most beautiful about Utah and its people.
In short, this is the Mitt Romney we knew, or thought we knew, as one of us.
Sadly, it is not the only Romney, as his campaign for the White House has made abundantly clear, first in his servile courtship of the tea party in order to win the nomination, and now as the party’s shape-shifting nominee. From his embrace of the party’s radical right wing, to subsequent portrayals of himself as a moderate champion of the middle class, Romney has raised the most frequently asked question of the campaign: "Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?"
The evidence suggests no clear answer, or at least one that would survive Romney’s next speech or sound bite. Politicians routinely tailor their words to suit an audience. Romney, though, is shameless, lavishing vastly diverse audiences with words, any words, they would trade their votes to hear.
More troubling, Romney has repeatedly refused to share specifics of his radical plan to simultaneously reduce the debt, get rid of Obamacare (or, as he now says, only part of it), make a voucher program of Medicare, slash taxes and spending, and thereby create millions of new jobs. To claim, as Romney does, that he would offset his tax and spending cuts (except for billions more for the military) by doing away with tax deductions and exemptions is utterly meaningless without identifying which and how many would get the ax. Absent those specifics, his promise of a balanced budget simply does not pencil out.
If this portrait of a Romney willing to say anything to get elected seems harsh, we need only revisit his branding of 47 percent of Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, yet feel victimized and entitled to government assistance. His job, he told a group of wealthy donors, "is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
Where, we ask, is the pragmatic, inclusive Romney, the Massachusetts governor who left the state with a model health care plan in place, the Romney who led Utah to Olympic glory? That Romney skedaddled and is nowhere to be found.
In considering which candidate to endorse, The Salt Lake Tribune editorial board had hoped that Romney would exhibit the same talents for organization, pragmatic problem solving and inspired leadership that he displayed here more than a decade ago. Instead, we have watched him morph into a friend of the far right, then tack toward the center with breathtaking aplomb. Through a pair of presidential debates, Romney’s domestic agenda remains bereft of detail and worthy of mistrust.
Therefore, our endorsement must go to the incumbent, a competent leader who, against tough odds, has guided the country through catastrophe and set a course that, while rocky, is pointing toward a brighter day. The president has earned a second term. Romney, in whatever guise, does not deserve a first.

Man you know you’re in trouble when even the Mormon’s ain’t buying what ‘Ol Willard is selling. So much for that “Favorite Son” thingy.
Amen, Brother Redneck, AMEN!
You would think not carrying his 'hometown' (does this man actually HAVE a hometown? or does he just have a home in every town so he can appear local?)
So good to see you back on the boards! 12 1/2 days and we need to Get Out EVERY Vote!
Fired up!
Thank you, IR. There it is, laid out succinctly and with such sad clarity. That is the Mitt Romney who is running against President Obama.
We have reached the point with Romney, that he could sit in our living room(s) for a full hour and tell us who he is - and we wouldn't believe a word he said.
That man cannot be allowed to sit in the White House.
Apparently he "rescued" the Olympics by making it the most expensive American Olympics in history (while lining a lot of pockets in the process).
Utah's largest newspaper. Even the Mormons know Willard is a flip flopper.
Cheers to Utah for not being blinded by too many Mitts.
Romney touts saving the Olympics yet never mentions the millions given to Salt Lake City from the federal tax payer coffers; never mentioned John McCain and others in Congress's outrage at taxpayers footing the bill. Mitt didn't "build that" success, taxpayers bailed him out.
Independent Redneck Va.
Independent Redneck Va. Thanks,
Might I add, his state of Massachusetts is not voting MYTH either. Romney is a man clouded in LIES and mystery.
I wish the Utah paper would have also mentioned Romney saved the Olympics with government funds. That is another contradiction. The severely conservative MYTH Romney also says he will create millions of J-0-B-S. Except, one thing is missing. MYTH Romney cannot justify being in a government position creating J-0-B-S since the government is not a business; rather it is a democracy.
Mitt Romney says entrepreneurs need government to start businesses
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/07/18/1111399/-Mitt-Romney-says-entrepreneurs-need-government-to-start-businesses
MYTH Romney has even called the government a business at one time.
Speaking of portrayals, have you see all those tattoos of MYTH in the New Yorker? They are LOL funny.
The New Yorker endorses Barack Obama
The New Yorker laid out all of the reasons for deciding Obama deserves a second term in the Oval Office. The magazine's editors tout
the passage of the Affordable Care Act
the repeal of “don't ask, don't tell,"
the creation of 3.6 million private-sector jobs since 2009
the killing of Osama bin Laden.
They also acknowledge his failures both in personality—“withdrawn, even strangely passive”—and in policy: “Guantánamo, climate change, and gun control.” Still, “The Romney–Ryan ticket represents a constricted and backward-looking vision of America: the privatization of the public good,” they argue. “The reelection of Barack Obama is a matter of great urgency.”

Obama wouldn't even do an on-the-record interview for a newspaper... something Romney did earlier in the month. Apparently they wouldn't give him a script to memorize before doing the "interview" and he got scared.

I see NBC removed all trace of new evidence of Obama's continued lying about Benghazi despite it obviously being the most important news of the day and the top story on real news sites. Save the Emporer at all costs!!!
White House knew of extremist claims in Benghazi attack

Mitt was happy to take U.S. taxpayer funds to "save" the Olympics but is unwilling to prove to us that he has paid the amount of taxes he is legally obligated to have paid. WHERE ARE YOUR TAX RETURNS MITT?
When those who should know you the best don't stand behind you, it speaks volumes to me.
His tax returns have recently been released. You may not be bright enough to understand them.
jim #'s -- And I know you would agree with me that it's disgusting that many of us have to pay a higher rate of tax than Romney.
Romney wants to cut loopholes for middle class but REFUSES to cut the "carried interest" LOOPHOLE HE ENJOYS! Disgusting!!!!!
He NEVER said that, but don't let the facts get in the way! He said he'd work across the isle to come up with closing loopholes on the rich that the middle class don't enjoy. You're kind are getting edgy and the lies are coming fast and furious (sounds familiar). You can take your left talking points like a good lapdog but the rest of us aren't easily fooled into chasing balls, cars, and fetching.
Jim, it is you that may not be bright enough to understand the facts.
Romney released his 2010 returns, but they are incomplete. Romney released a shortened version of his 2011 returns, again without details. Romney released only a brief summary of his 1990-2009 returns. This is not disclosure. This is not even what he asked of his running mate.

Jody, Iowa - you underestimate the federal funds used to bail out the Salt Lake City Olypics. It was more like 2.7 billion.

Hey BOZOhussen, the USA now has these ships that have planes land and take off from them--they are called aircraft carriers....WHY did you NOT help the embassy people??!!
Even the inept jimmy "the peanut brain" Carter did not allow our Embassy people to be murdered!!!

It is an account based on interviews of witnesses on 9-12-12 in Benghazi by a Reuters correspondent fluent in the language there.
Obama said on day 1 in Rose Garden speech that it was "an act of terror". An act of terror is an act committed by a terrorist or group of terrorist. The protests that fateful day in Benghazi were widely reported. I find it bizarre that people in Benghazi would say there were protests there against film when there purportedly were none. The prime minister of Libya said it wasn't a protest but he wasn't there and he apparently may have had a political motive in downplaying the possibility of a protest there, since he has since been fired as prime Minister of Libya.
There is much we don't know about attack at this time and there are obviously conflicting reports. Yet. people such as yourself choose to exploit the death of four Americans for your own political advantage. How sad.

I CAN POST AGAIN FOR YOU president......real facts about repubs and why they filibuster. REPUBLICONS HATE AMERICA AND LOVE $$$$$$$$ MORE!
Romney = Bush 43. If you liked George W. Bush, you will really like Mitt Romney. They are two peas in a pod when it comes to policies but at least Bush was likable. Romney is as incurious as Bush, clearly uninformed. Despite his ability to run a business, he lacks "street smarts", lacks comprehension and intelligence on everything else.
The idea that moderate Mitt came to the debates should not confuse anyone but apparently there are some who will say: Romney wouldn't really bomb Iran, or invade Syria, or put troops back in Iraq; he wouldn't really ban contraception or sign legislation to ban abortion regardless of circumstances; Romney won't raise taxes on the middle class to pay for more tax cuts for the richest 10%; Romney won't add another $4.8 trillion to the debt to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy; Mitt won't cut education, won't voucher-ize medicare, won't privatize social security--he just wouldn't really do those things. Except, how does anyone know?
Trust him? Why would any voter trust a presidential candidate who has been on every side of every issue multiple times? As Jon Huntsman said, Romney is a "well-oiled weather vane". Do we really need another George W. Bush? Well, that is who Romney is--more trickle down, more debt, more wars, more outsourcing of jobs to China. Do not fool yourself into thinking that Moderate Mitt is what you will get--he really is "severely conservative".
Ask yourself why Moderate Mitt has not caused an outcry from the extreme right of the GOPTP. The answer is simple: because they know moderate Mitt is a lie.
Jody -
I agree totally. How can anyone with a clear conscience vote for Romney? He swung far to the right during the Republican primaries, abandoning many of the moderate principles he governed by in Massachusetts.
Romney then shamelessly reversed many of his "severely conservative" positions in an attempt to appeal to the moderate undecided/swing voters.
Romney's lack of knowledge and interest in foreign affairs is especially disturbing. The fate of the US is increasingly tied to international events, and Romney's failure to understand the complexities of the issues frightens me.
There are so many issues that will require a steady, reasoned approach - the struggle for democracy in the Middle East, the economic crisis in Europe, the emerging economies in Latin America, and the escalation of issues in Asia Pacific.
I am firmly convinced that Mitt Romney is ill-prepared and totally unqualified to be our Commander-in-Chief.
The baggers (aka Tea Party or American Taliban) are willing to accept this Etch-A-Sketching because they know he will simply sign any bills presented to him from a bagger House. Grover Norquist said, "Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become President of the United States." This is one of Willard's few qualifications. He can handle a pen.

ALL those quotes are from the (hijacked) republican party.
Jody great post...as usual you are spot on.
TNSEVOL....... I really am curious as to why anyone would vote for such a proven liar as Romney. I have yet to see anyone here or for that matter on other boards, say why with pride, they are voting for Romney. I see only posts criticizing our President and of course telling lies and conspiracy theories they are only too happy to embrace.
I have a hard time believing that all of them are racists and can appreciate different policy agendas but I dont understand how the many times he's been shown to lie, that it doesn't trigger some doubt and concern that he is not what he says he is today or tomorrow or whenever. I'm a big believer in trust, and I cannot trust anyone who keeps changing the story, what's to believe?
His 47% remarks at that infamous fundraiser alone would send me running from him not to mention his attitudes towards womens' health issues, equal pay for equal work and the difficulties of single parenting. I would like someone to help me understand why its ok to lie, why its ok to denigrate their President and his family in very personal ways and why so many hate him and still tell me it is not racial. Anyone out there who can do this?
I am sure that there is some racism in the opposition to President Obama but I really think most of the opposition is because the 1% wants to control the government to control the tax rates and to privatize as much as possible in order to enrich themselves. How they get those not in the 1% to go along with them continues to mystify me but then again I never got how the South got poor farmers to fight and die for them in the Civil War either.

One of the Conservative Republican's favorite , tongue-in-cheek, point of
contention is that Democrats didn't accomplish much when they had
control of the Congress. Conservative Republicans are proud of the
obstruction carried out by their anarchist, “ Blue Dog”
co-conspirators that were embedded within the Democratic wing of
Congress. The Conservative mission of ,”support the Greedy,
despise the Needy”, is not confined to one party.
The Republican agenda is for private companies to have access to public funds. Private enterprise wants to have their hands on taxpayer dollars.
President of the U.S.A,
It's bad enough that you post all those lies to begin with - they can all be (and just were above) proven false.
But to post them all 10-15 times???????? You must cut & Paste for hours!
Are you aka pjam09 by any chance? He does the same thing.

The right will vote for Romney even if he said Mormonism will be the official state religion if he's elected President. They will vote for him even if said he wants to make polygamy legal throughout the country. They will vote for him no matter what because they can't stand to have a Black President for another four years.
The Todd/Dick comedy tour, coming soon to a vagina near you!!
This group of pseudo journalists needs to brush up on their resumes in case Pravda is hiring next year. You might as well have Cutter, Wasserman and Axelrod write their articles. Fortunately, only 13 more days of these desperate distortions after which they will need new angles to try and limit Romney to only one term as president.

President of the U.S.A.
Repost this a million times, it still isn't going to make a difference to those who sat here and watch Mitt Romney lie, lie, lie and more lies, and say what he really means then change them when he realized or the republican party realized that they may need that 47 percent of the country that Mitt doesn't care about, to win, because Opps that almost half of the country, that is laughable. When he says out of his own mouth that he who has over 250,000,000 million dollars should pay less taxes then someone who make 50,000 thousand dollars a year, he said yes, that makes for a stronger economy. that is crazy, this man doesn't mean us any good at all, and just like most of us cant believe who would vote for this man, who would even want this man around them at all with all the lies he tells.
OBAMA'S LIE EXPOSED
From Reuters, updated 10/23/2012 9:36:42 PM ET WASHINGTON — “Officials at the White House and State Department were advised only two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.
“The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.
“The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.”
Obama has been caught in a huge lie to the American people. No amount of media spin is going to make this one go away!
Am I the only American that thinks that National Security details isn't something they should be spewing to the media constantly and in great detail, 24/7? That is what the terrorists want, their name and agenda spewed to the world. I don't care who "they" are and why they did it, I just want justice, which is what President Obama said they were going to do, that's enough for me.
Investigations take time, it isn't television, and I'd rather wait and get factual, intelligent information, then piece by piece, could be true or not, but you wanted to know right now, so here information.
There is NO LIE. You are lying.
Fact is it would be IRRESPONSIBLE to put out information that had not been verified. Our intel needed time to assess things. Just because someone claims credit for something doesn't mean they did it Kannin.
Go peddle this garbage somewhere else.
Pray tell, what lie is that? That the President said the the attack was an "act of terror"? Oh, yes, I see your point. NOT!!
Why did they lie? I understand the need for security, but blaming the attack on a video only created more chaos at other embassies. They lied for two weeks when they know right away. This is blowing up in the president's face.
We get it man, you think he is a Nazi Muslim socialist hell bent on destroying America. Nobody reasonable is ever gonna agree with you, and we all think that you are eaten up with hate.
Darryl Issa, in his Benghazi witch hunt zest, revealed classified security information. Where's the GOPTP outrage for that?
The faithful will be beating the Benghazi drums for years to come. They view the attack as a wonderful gift to them. The prize at the bottom of the Cracker Jack box. President Obama's Waterloo. Romney's ticket to the White-house.
They feel cheated that Romey's underhanded attempt to capitalize on an American tragedy proved fruitless and even damaging. These cold-hearted people care nothing for the victims and families except as pawns to further their favored political agenda.
Commonsense -- Well said!
pjam09 -- What part of the word CLAIMS escapes you? Lots of idiots claim lots of things, doesn't mean it's true. Your post would fall into that category.
"FACT is it would be IRRESPONSIBLE to put out information that has not been verified" per Dont_carry_it_all in #7.2 ????????????????????????
So, following your weak-a$$ logic, it is quite okay for Obama and his administration to go around for about 10 days afterwards putting out "EVEN MORE IRRESONSIBLE" information, blaming it on the 17 min anti-Mohammed video clip as the reason for the attacks. Is that correct ?????
So, if Obama doesn't know the facts, which is a pretty incredible stretch, it is quite OKAY for him to LIE and LIE again ??? What a maroon you are !
Mountains out of molehills. That's the TPrepub/Rove game plan and has been since 2000. When are we going to learn to ignore this stuff and concentrate on the important issues? Maybe because that's all the TPRepubs have going for them? Maybe they are heavily dependent on the low information, easily influenced, ADD voters who are more influenced by cliches and cutsey phrases than by meat and potatoes issues?
Jim #'s - I'm Magnificent, don't forget it and I'm not maroon, just so you know.
Anyway, Romney continues to lie and transform. How come you don't harp on that?
Did you read the article I left you on the first thread? Do you now understand why the costs of things are going up?
jim:
And what would knowing anything more have done to alter the result? Would you have grabbed your .30-06 from the back window of your pickup, bought an airline ticket for Benghazi and sought revenge on your own? That's precisely why we need to find out ALL of the facts before releasing details.
You don't like lies? Ok - you're ugly. Now stfu.
Obama himself is probably laughing at you foolish libs/dems. The 4 you should be concerned about are the ones who were killed in Libya. At least two could have been saved in a battle of 7 hours when this administration new about it within 2 hours. This is grounds for impeachment. But you fools don't get it. I'm sure Obama is like, "what do I need to do? for these folks to turn on me....wheeeeeeeeeee, I am the teflon god" Considering Obama seemed to know we don't need bayonets and horses, we have choppers, etc., why didn't he used them to save the lives of 4 Americans in Benghazi! For SHAME!!!
MMM...........barcak hussein obama!
PS.. Pat in Boston, not a good day to be calling Romney in a liar. Focus on our prez.

Read your own quote.
"First of all, Mitch McConnell has imposed an ironclad filibuster from the first day I was in office. And that's not speculation. I mean, this is — it's amply recorded. He gave a speech saying, my task is to defeat the President."
The secret meeting(now well known) on the evening of the President's inauguration was when McConnell first promised such a proposal. The President did NOT say that was the date of McConnell's public statement to that effect.
Your own post is the statement that is misleading. Kudos for successfully graduating from the school of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh in lying with a straight face. Shame on you.
Kannin,
It is a non issue.
Yesterday 1 of the killers was apprehended. Obama once again fulfilling a promise.
And now a word from the moral conscience of America...Sarah Palin...
"There is no moral compass there, in this administration. There isn't a moral compass in our mainstream media, it is a corrupt mainstream media. What breaks my heart about all of this -- besides the loss of four brave Americans through this tragedy -- is we have our troops, our sons and daughters, overseas, fighting for that freedom of the press in America. And yet there is abuse of that freedom of that press, where the press gets out there and they think they're free to lie to the American people about what's going on."

Stunning rhetoric from someone who could have been a heartbeat away etc, etc.
Hey DF speaking of "Heartbeat away" what's John Edwards up to these days???
Anyway, Tigers in 5. (So they win it at home)
Hoping SF has spent all it's "Destiny" cards and comes in tonight wiped out. Verlander will take care of them either way, but Zito isn't the kind of pitcher the Tigers usually do well against. Kind of a"junk ball" pitcher.
Couple of runs ought to be enough tonight.
I have nothing intelligent to say so here comes the "moral equivalence dodge dept.;
He's leaving the "Disgracing Myself in Public by showing what an idiot I am concession" to this intellectual giant.
And hey WCA, maybe the Edwards bast**d can play with Bristol's little questionable bundle of joy.
OR maybe Edwards is getting ready for "Dancing with the Has-beens, er Stars like Bristol and Tom the Hammer DeLay...and I could go on all freaking day, REPUBLICANS or DEMOCRATS...
Seriously, how much intelligence does it take to play that game?
Seriously you don't think her rhetoric was a tad over the top?
As to the series;
A cold team vs a hot team...They beat Verlander tonight and I'm thinking sweep. If Justin shuts them down it's a whole different story.
Course it was DF, that's why I don' pay any attention to what either Palin or Edwards are up to these days. (Or most other has been Politicians)
Both are really pretty irrelevant.
You know, the thought of Verlander losing tonight hadn't crossed my mind. That would in fact be very problematic for the Tigers.
Wow, dangerfield, that post at 8.2 was completely over the line for someone who claims to want higher discourse in American politics.
I would suggest that you owe both Edwards and Palin an apology.
That is, unless you are just posturing about being above the nastiness.
WCA-
We both know that wasn't my point, and yet your response shows that you got it, thanks.
Well, it's hard to remember that he's human. When did he last pitch? Could go either way, as he may be too well rested, as in too strong, but mastering not overthrowing has really been the key to his dominance the past 3 seasons.
I like the match-up better than Tigers-Cards and as always hope for seven games, as afterwards all is darkness until February...
------------------------------------------------------
NDD-work on your reading comprehension as I was denigrating that kind of silly moral equivalence by using examples...sheesh!
And where are your previous posts? Why do you have no posts to refer to on your page? Aren't you willing to stand behind every word you write here?
Of the four participants in the debates who came over as the biggest fool?
VP Joe Biden
dangerfield: I KNOW the reason you wrote it, you found it amusing. Calling an infant a bastard is NEVER amusing, no matter the reason.
And no. I have shut my page, because you and your friends have taught me that you cannot be trusted to behave with honor. Take responsibility for your behavior.
I am quite willing to have a discussion with you or anyone else. But I expect to be treated with respect, and I will give others the same, as long as they deserve it.
The issue, dangerfield, quite simple-
What other president would have the confidence in a compliant media to lie so blatantly about an event that cost four American lives?
Reuters and CBS are up with stories that the White House knew, within two hours of the attack, that it was, in fact, an attack organized by a group of Islamic militants intent on killing. There was never any indication that this was a spontaneous attack over a video no one would have have heard of, we're it not for Obama's prevarications.
I'm no Palin fan, but this one has all the earmarks of the old stopped clock scenario.
Alan-
Read above and try to comprehend that your non sequitur is the same silly non responsive, adolescent, "Nayh-nayh" that the Edwards comment was. If you disagree that ex-Governor Palin was over the top and out of line with her rhetoric, say so, DEFEND her statement. Otherwise you have contributed nothing...thank you
------------------------------------------------------------

the device of overblowing the tragedy in Libya for political gain during the election cycle is acceptable to a small dedicated fringe of the more virulent neo-con survivors...sorry to see that you have swallowed the bait hook line and sinker....
NDD,
Reminds me of the time when ol "above the fray DF" threatened to knock another posters teeth down their throat!
His pitiful attempt to crab-walk it back is again an EPIC FAIL!
DF is a lot of things, shame "moderate" isn't amongst them! lol
DF...I find your posts intriguing at worst and fully entertaining at best. Your scale is balanced and I have yet to read an over-the-top insult in your posts. My opinion...you owe an apology to no. Most posters need a get-a-life cure. Keep the humor coming...would you be willing to do stand-up comedy with Obama, ala Martin and Lewis? Just a thought.
bas·tard (bstrd)n.1. A child born out of wedlock...
-------------------------------------------------------------
I will leave looking up the definition of "High Horse" and self-righteous to you.
Everyone wo has been here for the past couple of years KNOWS why you and your friends are all Nixonian about your posts.
I stand behind my words, as frivolous as they may be. They are there for all to see.
I challenge you to stand behind yours. Then you can mount that high horse. Thank you.
I would put my record of civility against anyone's here, but many are uh, BLANK
---------------------------------------------------------
Of the 4 available "straight men" I would pick Biden...
What exactly do you find objectionable about her statement? As a whole can the MSM Media (and the non-MSM Media) be considered corrupt? Maybe that's too strong a word but it can be considered biased.
Editors have to make choices as to what they report. They have limited resources so their decision making is important. Can they be completely objective? No, but I think it's fairly obvious that when they spend a large amount of resources to background check Ms Palin, then allow the current Vice President, plagiarizer and all, claims of a college football career, along with multiple gaffes of a similar quality of Ms Palin to get a pass she might just have point.
As to my non sequitur, it was you who made the point that she could have been only a heartbeat away from the presidency. My point is, after watching 4 debates, 3 of the participants conducted themselves in an adult and serious manner. Joe Biden was a fool, and he IS a heartbeat away from the presidency.
I had forgotten that, Feisty, and I have talked with dangerfield, taking him at his word that he wants honest dialogue about today's problems.
Perhaps, dangerfield, you can make clear to me that you are an honest broker of what you claim.
Do you want discussion, or are you after brutalizing those that don't agree with you. I would like to know, since I am given to conversing with most.
dangerfield: Shall we survey people on line and find out if they have used "bastard" as a pejorative? You do not use that word and aim it at an innocent child.
And if you know why my friends and I are "Nixonian" about our posts, why did you ask?
Read my posts NDD...you CAN actually read mine.
----------------------------------
And if you know why my friends and I are "Nixonian" about our posts, why did you ask?
Because it completely exposes the hypocrisy of the enterprise, doesn't it?
You want to hold me to every word, yet yours are nowhere to be found
---------------------------------------------------------
NDD,
I haven't, here are "civil" dangerfields own words;
dangerfield
Followed by this Bravado! lol
"Nixonian" is an interesting word for YOU to use, dangerfield. Given the break in at the Watergate, it does describe your ethics to a "t".
"Read My posts...you can actually read mine.."
You would be able to read mine too, except you taught me, a 60 year old woman, sitting in the middle of fly over country that there are people who behave without honor. Tough lesson for me, I have always believed in the kindness of others.
If I had done such a thing (which would NEVER happen) I would apologize. You?
Hypocrisy? No, dangerfield, no hypocrisy here. I responded to words you used on this page. I don't search people's pages. Pretty creepy that you do.
It isn't the crime...it's the cover-up...Where are your posts?
Those with nothing to hide have nothing to fear. Honor is as honor behaves.
The "honor" of the treehouse gang...
How many times have I been banned?
-------------------------------------
So the only friendships allowed are those that you give permission for? It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, right dangerfield?
I don't know, how many times have you been banned, and why would I care?
You will not have access to my posts, dangerfield, for cause. I will expect an apology from you, and I am sorry to know that you are not an honest broker of reasonable discussion.
NDD-
The best humor unintentional...Thank you...
----------------------------------------------------
Apologies to Gov. Palin, John Edwards' "child born out of wedlock", and Tom DeLay (He wasn't all that bad and it was funny to see him in those dancing costumes...)
NOBODY for President 2012
Which means you cannot respond dangerfield. Glad to know you have some shame at long last.
Every person's posts are on FR, they are in the archives for any and all to read IF they choose to bother. Hardly Nixonian.
Good old dangerfield, the Mitt Romney shift-changer of First Read. The poster who returns to FR and speaks in reasonable moderate tones for awhile before showing his true self, before his anger becomes too much for him to control and he lashes out at anyone who dares challenge him. And.....then he disappears.
Well DF, here I thought we were having a bit of fun this morning.
I come back and find out the CEO and Secretary of the LibsRUs gang are all up in your grille?
How ironic is it that Feisty went into your Comments history to pull a past post, but completely misses the point of having her own history visible?
That's pretty funny stuff, right there.
Yep, Jody, true enough. I felt the need to clear the air with him. Guess it can't be done.
WCA-
The thread is here to read. Feisty has been on ignore for over a year, but I know the comment;
(Voice of Groucho): "Why, if you were a man you'd come over and knock my teeth out."
Rosten: "I -"
Voice: "And if you were half a man you'd knock half my teeth out."
Rosten: "Who -?"
Voice: "And if you were a woman we could dance the night away in wild abandon."
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty "brutal" isn't it?
Didn't have to go into my history, it's been posted a dozen times at least.
But deliberately taking a comment (that was made to someone else!) out of its obvious context and repeating it as smear is absolutely honorable.
That is why I said the best humor is unintentional. Look how your "friends" have swarmed to protect a comment I directed to YOU.
You really should have been more offended by my brutality, shame on you.
My friends care about me, dangerfield, which I appreciate, since friendship is a gift.
I don't feel the need of protection. I am always curious about what motivates others.
I do expect an apology from you, dangerfield, and a statement of whether I can take you at your word that you want honest discussion.
NDD, no, it can't be done. It is why I skip right by dangerfield's comments; rarely do I bother adding a comment because sooner or later, he will attack and show his true, ugly side--doesn't matter if one is right, left or center--sooner or later, he turns vicious.
Jody: live in hope, I guess. Although my dearest friend always says "live in hope, die in despair."
Probably what will happen here. I will be vastly disappointed and shall die of it, I am sure! ; )
But if he does become vicious with me, that will be my answer.
NDD-
Apology for what? I am so vicious! Who knows what horrible thing I might say next!
Jody-
I am so hurt that you just pass by my comments, yet here you found the time to play the treehouse gang's favorite game. Thank you!
Again so sorry that my comments lack the nonpartisan, respectful tone of these HONORABLE folks, as is there for all to see...at least in some cases.
Anyone who can read can see who is vicious and who gets...
No respect...
Sure you do... *winky wink* sure you do... lmao!
Problem for you buddy is no where in your comments did you include your "obvious context".
That only came after you were called out as the phony you are!
The "treehouse gang" dangerfield, then you are NOT honest about wanting a discussion.
Do I really have to explain to you why you owe an apology? An honest man would know.
Well, don't flatter yourself too much dangerfield. Occasionally, your comments-- depending on the mood contained within--or the discussion which follows, catch my eye. My description of your posts is an honest assessment of them, hardly vicious. Having read them on/off for a number of years--what I wrote is the conclusion I reached based on your comments. Right or wrong, I claim to be neither, but rather offer my perceived opinion of the man whose own blog name "danger...field" is a perfect description. Have a good day, DF.
I wouldn't normally jump in; but this is too RICH to avoid!
The peeping toms of the vine are INDIGNANT that we shut our curtains? WOW!
In my neighborhood we call that CHUTZPAH!
This one made me giggle.
df, I'm curious, was the journal as titillating as you'd hoped it would be?
I think it is inappropriate to call a child a bastard; but I have NO QUALMS calling you one! It's pretty much how YOU roll!
Moving on,...
For my part, dangerfield.. I was truly hoping that you had changed and learned some lessons about this like I did. I do enjoy some of your posts, when you remember who you are trying to be. Therefore, I do not have you on ignore, and I have had tried to have discussion with you.
But, if you are going to refer to the "treehouse gang" you have learned nothing. You are not entitled to decide who may be friends with whom, or create conspiracies about it.
And that is what you owe the apology for.
Which you know perfectly well.
OldDay Yawning, Is this a libbie chat vine where you and your personal relationships take center stage, or is it a forum for political commentary ?
jimmy dear; you have an ignore function on your account. Do feel free to use it. I am not interested in your opinion of this.

IR,
Romney's "favorite son" status is indeed a no show.
BTW, wonder which state Romney will cast his vote in on election day?
Northstar....probably in MA & NH & UT & CA.....talk about voter fraud!
GNOP - we don't need no fact checkers...GNOP CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
C'mon Mythe - show us the 1040's! What ARE you hiding?!
Considering the fact that Gov Romney had CPA's preparing his returns who are not about to risk their licenses to practice or their careers, he is very likely hiding nothing but returns prepared according to the tax laws of the land. If you don't like the tax laws of the land, that's one thing, but you can't penalize a guy for filing his tax returns according to them. I reiterate, he has had top notch CPA's preparing his returns. Stating that he has committed tax fraud is stating that those highly paid folks who are partners and managers of a big 4 CPA firm would risk their careers for one return. Having been in the industry, trust me, that is nonsense.
Where are Romney's taxes? What is he hiding? Ann Romney indicated there was "ammunition" in them. The fact that Romney refuses to release his tax returns is reason enough NOT to vote for him. Add that to the fact that he refuses to release his tax policy plans for every other American is icing on the VOTE NO on MITT cake.
Just Me, this has nothing to do with having CPAs preparing his tax returns and their "integrity", it has nothing to do with how many millions Romney has. It has everything to do with transparency; it has everything to do with stashing money in off-shore tax havens--legal or not, it is wrong. How can one claim to love his country while avoiding taxes. Romney's taxes likely would reveal many years of paying much lower tax rates on multi-millions than middle class Americans pay. It is quite obvious that Romney doesn't want Americans to know just how badly skewed and unfair the tax code really is. Trust Mitt Romnesia? Never.
Oh, he can't let us know about his money. Although I hear it is more world traveled than he is!
bwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha
Show us the MONEY, R$mney!
R$mney/Ryan 1040's
Jody,
If Romney showed us his tax return ,like all other candidates, we would know which state he claims as a resident.
And seeing romney is now 65, it would be interesting if you are on Medicare or took a waiver?
So many questions, so little time.....
Just me---I prepare taxes for a living. I can tell you that I can only include information on a tax return that my clients give me. So, his accountants could have prepared accurate returns based on the information they had and Mitt still could have have major omissions from those returns by not giving them all the information.
Tax return preparers can also take aggressive positions which might not hold up on audit---for example, the deduction of expenses related to the "dancing horse" which could be argued to be a hobby and not a business. Mitt has also described it as "therapy" but didn't claim it as a medical expense.
How do we know what else he may have done if he does not disclose his returns, as every candidate since HIS OWN FATHER has done?
steelerfan: IT IS THE ECONOMY and out National security STUPID! THE tax returns are a distraction to devert attention from Obama's clossal failures and fumbles!
YOU are like that idiot and liar from Nevada...Harryy Reid, who said he had information that Romney hadn't paid taxes in 10 years... those released returns PROVED that LIE WRONG!
You prepare taxes??? IF you are as stupid and incompetent at tax returns, as your post indicates, YOU NEED to refund all the money you have charged and FIND a new career!

Mitt the Twit campaigned in Cedar Rapids yesterday at the Cedar Rapids Airport in a hangar. Why? Nobody was going to show up so he needed an echo chamber that is, he needed an open metal building.
If you don't know the geography of Iowa, Cedar Rapids is approximately 25 miles north of Iowa City. The airport is 5 miles south of Cedar Rapids. Why not campaign in Iowa City? Because Mitt could have held his stump speech in the parking of the taco bell. In the 84 Presidential Election 98 out of 99 counties voted for Reagan, Johnson County, which Iowa City is the county seat, voted Mondale. Why? College kids!
College kids know who has their future in their best interests. College kids are voting for Obama in droves.
So, Mr. Romney, you want to claim that you have all the momentum on your side. If that is the case, then I congratulate you, sir. It truly is amazing what you can accomplish when you decide to no longer encumber yourself by holding on to any of your past political positions.
Romney must think it is wonderful to be unrestrained by such frivolous things as reality, math, facts, and truth.
He is a
manpolitician with no backbone, scruples, or shame; who will say anything, deny anything, do anything to get elected. So when you are a Democrat, your positions "evolve" but when you are a Republican, its flip flopping. I see, kind of. I think all politicians have the right to change their minds over time. I certainly am not the same person that I was 20 years ago. My opinions have changed over time. I think it is probably that we all grow and change in life and we need to give each other the room to grow and change over time and a lot of grace. Peace out.
Just me..........under normal circumstances I would agree that we evolve our opinions and our thinking as time passes. But what do you do with someone who changes his positions on several policies several times depending on who he talking with? Sometimes he's made a statement and in less that an hour or so, its been corrected by his campaign or he will deny he ever said it to begin with? That is not evolving, that is pandering which is a polite way to say he's a hypocrite at best, but most of all liar and someone who cannot be trusted in anything.
Romney may have had positions that evolved in the distant past. I don't know. What I (and the world) have seen in the last two years is Romney revolving positions that are spinning so fast as to make anyone downright dizzy.
I suspect he may have cloned himself several times. We think we're seeing the same Romney until he opens his mouth.
Just Me. Romney's positions haven't "evolved" over time unless, of course, you consider flip flopping from hour to hour and day to day "evolving". Why do you think people call him Multiple Choice Mitt? Google his positions--they are all over the map from day to day, week to week; often he's for it, against it and then for it again. That is the simple truth. Evolving takes years, not hours or days. Evolving does not happen when speaking to a crowd of wealthy donors and saying one thing, then saying the opposite to the middle class; embracing the Ryan budget, which turns medicare into a coupon, calling it "marvelous" and then telling voters he would never turn medicare into a voucher system. That isn't evolving, that is PANDERING.
I do NOT trust Romney, and neither did Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich or Jon Huntsman. If other GOP candidates (Newt called him a liar on national TV) didn't trust Mitt Romney, why should voters? Think about it.
Romney was right and BOZOhuseen was lying ....Again!!!!....REuters report from Washington,,,
The truth is coming out about Libya......more lies from Barry, Over-the-Hill'ry and drunken-Biden.....preplanned Islamic Terrorist attack....nothing to do with the video...The White House had 7 hours to save the UNarmed Embassy people... and let them be murdered!!
Hey BOZOhussen, the USA now has these ships that have planes land and take off from them--they are called aircraft carriers....WHY did you NOT help the embassy people??!!
Even the inept jimmy "the peanut brain" Carter did not allow our Embassy people to be murdered!!!
boring joe
You keep repeating the same BS expecting somebody, anybody to agree with you. Sorry Charlie. You lose loser. Nobody believes you. It's no small wonder.
Why all the fuss about Romney's taxes? There seems to be a problem with being rich. Does it matter if he has money in foreign banks? Do you know for certain that Obama's money is all in the USA banks? All this money stuff and birther junk gets old.
Also, the attack on the embassy keeps coming up. Both issues -- Romney's taxes and the attack on the embassy will have no bearing on how I vote. Nor will the color of a man's skin. I read on one post that's why Obama got elected because he is a black man. I do not care whether the POTUS is white or black. My reasoning for voting the way I will is on account of the fact that I have seen no change (which was promised to take place during Obama's first term). As a matter of fact, things around my household are much, much worse than they were before. I have middle class and lower class friends (and a few very wealthy friends), and all of them seem to be having a struggle with prices of food, clothing, utilities, and other necessities.
I should have wrote middle class, poor and very wealthy friends. Basically, other than middle class, people should not be classed at all. I use to think I was middle class, but I have decided I am poor.
These posts show so much hate. It amazes me the amount of hate-filled comments on these posts.
Good night (and whether you believe in God or not), God bless!!!
justme.....Romney evolves every 5 minutes or faster depending on who he speaks to. You forgot to use repub new buzz word for Romney lies/flip flops....they call it "flexability".........to anyone with a conscience....It is called a lie!
Your very wealthy friends that claim to struggle with prices of food, clothing, utilities and other necessities are pulling the wool over your eyes. Statistics prove that the very wealthy are the only ones doing better than ever. Could I interest you in a terrific bargain on a bag of magic beans? $10k for a bag of these magic beans will make you my very best friend forever. Hugs and kisses for my BBF.
Hillary Clinton also knew within two hours that it was an attack by the Islamist group Ansar al-Shariah. She lied right along with Obama to maintain the cover-up. What was the phrase from the Watergate era … “Co-Conspirators”?
Mountain out of a molehill.
What would YOU have done differently had you known more information? Would you have torched a local Muslim home?
What did it cost you to find out it was a confirmed terrorist attack two weeks later? Some of us want to know the information has been confirmed before it becomes an international incident.
You are a nincompoop.
Obama's problem with Benghazi is self inflicted. If he would have come out after the attack and said it is going to take some time for us to figure out exactly what happened and why and then came out with the truth, there would be no big stink over this. Instead, he came up with a frabrication the day after which was quickly debunked but continued with the original lie until it got embarrasing and they were forced to call it terrorisim. Then in the debate, an ever bigger lie to cover his ass on the first lie, his generic statement about terrorism in the Rose Garden speech, which was clearly not a specific reference to Benghazi. This has become political because Obama made it that way by lieing in the first place and then trying to spin his way out of it.
GO OBAMA, KA-POW the evil-doer OF INDOCTRINATION OF THE DEVIL !
GO OBAMA/BIDEN, GO OBAMA/BIDEN, GO OBAMA/BIDEN. Yes! you show the LIGHT of TRUTH !!!!! Let us PRAY that GOD shows his PLAN !!!!
Are you one of the 47% that Romney thinks is a parasite on the body politic? I would like to vote for someone who has a better opinion of all Americans. Sure, now he says he was wrong. Do you believe him?
Yet you are willing to waste your vote on a lying traitor?
Go figure.
Tammy: I thought Lyin Ryan and RMoney were your fair haired boys!
And please elaborate on your traitor comment. I'm dyin' to hear this whopper.
anaxgnosis: Just read your and so many other posts here of the same attitude.... you are pasitic. As long as you are given someting for nothing, food stamps, universal healthcare, the list goes on, YOU give Obama a voting base. UNFORTUNATELY, you, and others like you think you deserve everything and have NO intention of working for what you get! YOU haters now are angry because some people have made money and you are greedy to get it and hate those who were so much more ambitious than you and made it happen!
LOOK at todays news: BENGHAZI: RELEASED emaiils show the Obama administration KNEW of the problem BEFORE and DURING the time it happened and DID NOTHING!
LOOK at the Delphi employees who, if not union, did not have their retirement saved from bankruptcy, ONLY those that Tim Gieghtner intervened on were UNION employees...political payoff.
IN Romney. at least we have job creator with a proven record of such accomplishments, a president that won't let our ambassador and others be killed because he is distracted or surronded by incompetence, OR he is TOO BUSY going to Nevada to campaign, to stay in DC and monitor events...
SINCE 4 years have passed, we have had nothing but failure after Obama failure and incompetence. YET people like yourself, give him a pass on ALL his stupidity, incompetence and failures... is that because you admire those short comings in people??
YOU and the minds alike are truly ignorant because you choose to be ignorant, do not wish to work or earn your way. IN you type of people; YOU CAN'T MAKE A SILK PURSE out OF A SOW'S EAR!
...you and YOUR kind are PATHETIC and do NOT care about our country.... ONLY your SELFISH SELVES!
Eric.........Ahhh Yes...Romney the job creator....you speaking about the illegal immigrant Guatemalans he had hired for years?...Or are you talking about all the AMERICAN jobs he shipped overseas, then hid the profits in offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes on?
Are you one of the 47% that Romney thinks is a parasite on the body politic? I would like to vote for someone who has a better opinion of all Americans. Sure, now he says he was wrong. Do you believe him?
Today's analysis of the battleground states using RCP's data:
Remember, my analysis does not use the average of the polls' margins but a trendline based on the number of polls one candidate has been ahead versus the number in which the other candidate has been ahead. If a candidate has been ahead in all of the polls or the other candidate has never held a lead in any poll, it will be listed as 'All (candidate).'
Colorado: R+4, O+3, R+1. R+1. O+2, Verdict: Romney (+9)
Florida: R+5, R+3, R+1, O+1, R+1, Verdict: Romney (+29)
Iowa: T, R+1, O+8, O+3, T, Verdict: Obama (+6)
Michigan: All O, Verdict: Obama (+16)
Nevada: All O, Verdict: Obama (+6)
New Hampshire: R+2, O+9, R+1, O+1, T, Verdict: Tossup
Ohio: All O, Verdict: Obama (+18)
Pennsylvania: All O, Verdict (+20)
Virginia: R+3, R+1, R+1, O+5, Verdict: Romney (+13)
Wisconsin: All O, Verdict: Obama (+10)
Electoral Count: Unchanged since yesterday
Romney: 206+29+9+13 = 257
Obama: 201+6+16+6+18+20+10 = 277
4 Electoral votes up for grabs.
Analysis: Since the count is unchanged since yesterday, there is really not much to add other than every day that passes by without seeing a poll that has any sort of lead for Romney in one of the All O states is a day closer to the election and one more day that the race continues to structurally favor the president.
Remember, it is a basic truism that the states that have poll results that vacillate back and forth: Florida, New Hampshire, Colorado, Iowa, Virginia, have much more of a chance to go 'either way' than the polls that all favor one candidate. Every day that goes by in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada with no poll that shows any kind of lead for Romney cements the idea that Obama likely has a very small, but probably unassailable lead in each of these 5 states.
The fact that there are no 'All R' states among the 10 battleground states and 5 'All O' states is a devastating fact for the Romney campaign.
Did you see the fall from a 1.9% yesterday to 1.7% today in Ohio? Did you notice on Sunday it was +2.1% for Obama? This is NOT the right direction.
I don't base my analysis on the average of leads in polls. Until someone somewhere can show me polls that show Romney ahead in Ohio, (not just that the president has a smaller lead), then nothing has changed the structure of the race. Basing your analysis on the average of leads in polls gives far too much weight to outlier polls that show one candidate or another with massive leads that just do not exist. Trendlines are far more important. In order for you to believe the president is behind in Ohio, you have to believe that 31 out of the last 37 polls taken in Ohio are wrong and that 3 of the last 37 are right.
Statistics just doesn't work like that.
What bothers me about these posts is the utter hatred going back and forth. First, we don't HAVE to vote for either one of these candidates. Romney is the nominee of the REPUBLICAN party and Obama is the nominee of the DEMOCRAT party.
There are Independents running that don't get talked about in the press, but have good ideas nonetheless.
The 2012 Presidential Candidate website shows several others we can vote for. If a person wants to vote for one of those other candidates, all they have to do is write in that candidate's name on the ballot.
Neither one of these candidates has a viable plan for fixing this economy. Obama wants to tax the rich "a little more" to make up the difference. Problem is there are not that many rich people in America. The fewer there are, the more he will have to tax them. NONE of those rich people are going to want to give up ALL of their money...so Mr. Obama's math doesn't add up either.
Romney wants to cut loopholes to make up the difference, but there are not enough loopholes and deductions to make up the difference.
However, if we employed Romney's plan AND Obama's we would be a lot closer. Then if we also add some of the ideas from the candidates on the 2012 Presidential Candidate's website we could ACTUALLY fix this mess.
I'm not voting for either one of these two. Neither has convinced me that I can trust their judgement. I will be looking at the other candidate's plans and choosing from one of those!
Romney was for abortion and now is not...who knows where he will stand once he is actually IN the Oval Office. I didn't vote for Kerry because he was a flip-flopper and I didn't trust his latest stance to remain as stated once elected. Same for Romney.
However; I do think that Romney's business sense should carry some weight.
As for Obama; he says he wants to invest in clean energy. Great, but let the state's decide for themselves what type they want in each state. Mr. Obama has only "invested" in green energy companies that helped with his campaign and ALL of them failed.
I don't believe capitalism can work with a government bail-out ready and waiting. It should work based on supply and demand and if a company is failing, instead of bailing them out, let's find the root cause of the situation and remedy THAT. For instance, GM was bailed out and our government is now looking to "help" other industries. (Translation: take over other industries). GM was a union led company that did not care about the employers nor the employees. It was ALL about power.
Tell me, what good will it do me to get $40/hour if my company closes its doors soon afterward?
What good does it do a government worker to get double the private sector in pensions and retirement if the government can't pay it in the end?
These unions used to be about better working conditions for the employee, now it's all about the power of the union.
Did you know that it was unions that gave the vast majority to Obama's campaign? We are talking BILLIONS here. That's BILLIONS with a "B"; meanwhile, the average worker, pays their union dues and trusts the unions to take care of them. Where are the unions when they bankrupt the company the employee works for?
Also, someone earlier stated that unemployment is higher than is usually stated. That person was correct. People at Lockheed and Boeing will be laid off January 2, 2013 which is actually probably closer to the Christmas holidays as their last working day. Because the lay-offs are so massive, the companies, by federal law, must announce this lay-off 60 days in advance which puts it November 2, 2012...just before the election.
Many people have already voted and many more are still believing in the fairy tale that Obama promised that they are not seeing what is really happening.
I watched Obama in all the debates and in the last two, he sounds so believable. Did you know that our credit rating was down-graded again recently? No, it didn't get much press. Definetly didn't affect the stock market. Now, though, we have to borrow at a much higher rate than before.
It's not enough to TALK a good game. We now have to actually WIN the game. Obama has had press that compared him to Lincoln, JFK, FDR, Superman and the Messiah. Mr. Obama is nothing like any of those people and Superman is a fictional character...but like the pied piper lure of "HOPE and CHANGE" he continues with fairy tale fixes. This time it is Robin Hood's "Rob from the rich to give to the poor."
We MUST elect a real leader this time. We NEED real solutions.
I don't believe Obama is the answer, but I don't believe Romney is either.
Please excuse me while I look at the other candidate's positions...

Now that everyone knows that the entire Obama adminstration knew within 2 hours it was a planned terrorist attack the president skipping the security meeting to go to a fund raiser in Nevada is even more narcissistic. My god man your people were murdered and you got on the plane to party in Vegas? Then you came home and was still lying 14 days later at the UN about a stupid 11 minute video? what is the matter with you? Other than you cannot no be trusted?
BTW who is paying for Air Force One with all the campaigning? It is suppose to be the campaign but since the Obama campaign is $23,000,000.00 in debt (according to CNN) will we ever get our money back? No one knows who pays because there has not been a budget in 3+ years.
What about U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice? She said the Libya attack was "spontaneous" and started with the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, over an anti-Islamic film. Did Hillary Clinton tell her that it was an attack by the Islamist group Ansar al-Shariah, and then order her to lie about it? Was she kept in the dark? Did the orders to lie come directly from Obama himself? This story is not over yet.
Just like children Kannin, all the libbies have no REAL answers to the disinformation campaign waged to hide the Benghazi truth ! They stick their fingers in their ears and try desperately to talk about something else.
People died and that fact, in and of itself, has not been distorted.
Obama lied, and that fact is the subject of ongoing attempts to distort. WHY ?
Molehills.
I know fact checking is not a TPRepub strength, but please - let them do the investigation and get the facts correct before we create an international incident because someone wants to score political points for one party or the other.
This is not the type of thing that should be political, but that's Rovian tactics that have infested the repub party.

Indy Red, greetings from the "Far Left" coast! Apparently there are many more of your spiritual kin living in my state than I had any reason to suspect; my lovely Canadian bride and I went on a road trip through eastern Washington (farm and ranch country) recently and were gratified to see that there were many more of "Obama/Biden" and "Inslee for Governor" out in people's fields and pastures than there were for the servants of the Forces of Darkness. (whew!)
So Romney's latest incarnation is "Union Romney", who saved America's auto industry! Yes, he was the one who told the President how to keep Detroit (and Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) roaring along, and now mean ole spoil- sport Obama won't give him credit for saving them! What a creep!
Now, having been born in Cleveland myself, and having a lot of family in Eastern Ohio yet, I generally give those good folks high marks for common sense and sensitive BS detectors; but unfortunately, there are plenty of people (see Ben, above) who are so deluded by the incessant drone of right-wing lies and propaganda that they'd gladly cast their ballot for Satan if he were on the Rethuglican ticket. (Seems to me, IR, that some of your Utah neighbors are convinced that that's the case!)
Question for you hard-line haters: I'd like for y'all to name for me one policy, one position, one principle, on which Romney has been consistent- that is, other than, "I deserve to be president because it's my turn." I'm not asking for much here; just name for me one thing on which he's never publicly reneged or flipped or 'walked back.' Will you do it, fellow citizens? Will you convince me that you are voting for Romney because he best represents your beliefs, and not voting against Obama because you've been told repeatedly that he's wicked?
Watch this space for a barrage of attacks on our President- lies, slander, idiocy, and diversions. Don't hold your breath looking for a reply that starts out, "I'm voting for Mitt Romney because he has a coherent and consistent plan for how to fix our economy and increase opportunities for working-class folks and for the young!"
No... don't think I'll be getting many of those. Peace, y'all!
Every first term President is a rookie. There’s no way around it. At least every 8 years we are forced to put a rookie in that job. We just have to be more careful about vetting the people we elect.
Obama was a poor performer at everything he’s attempted, except writing books about himself, and campaigning. He won’t show us how he performed as a college student. But he was below average as a college professor, State Senator, and as a US Senator. Not sure how he performed as a community organizer. And yet, somehow in our zeal to prove, wrongly by the way, that we are not a racist nation, we elected somebody President who is totally not suited for the job.
The guy has to go. We didn’t check him out in 2008, and we made a mistake. We had good intentions. We proved we are willing to elect an African American as POTUS. Now what we need to concentrate on is putting the best candidate in office. Who can get the job done? Who can work with leaders across the aisle?
Romney has proven that he can. Obama has proven that he can’t.
Romney enjoyed some "bipartisan" success in Massachusetts because HE cooperated with the mostly Democratic legislators and governed as a moderate.
Romney left in place a Capital Gains Tax, signed an Assault Weapons Ban, spoke out against coal, and generally did everything he vows he won't do now.
The Republicans in Congress have refused to compromise on any issues, hoping that their obstinence will be rewarded with a Republican President. The current Tea Party/Republican agenda has no room for compromise, and a Romney presidency would only make that worse.
The only hope for breaking the gridlock in Congress is to re-elect President Obama, which will force the Republicans to either compromise or be voted out as ineffective.
JTI, I'm not sure what Romney as proven, other than how to make money for wealthy investors. His record in MA was abysmal by any measure, but certainly by the people of MA who gave him a 38% approval rating by the end of his term.
So other than making money for millionaires, what has he proven he can do? His record of public service doesn't look good, which is probably why he never talks about it.
magna cum laude from Harvard??? by that measure, what is a GOOD student???
Well at least he performed well on his first world tour and his campaign. remember romneys who became known as Mitt the Twitt when he insulted 62,000 English at one whop. Please play what all the republicans really think about him. It is classic and right to the point. And hopefullymany will either not vote or vote for Obama. They know 100% what he is like and hopefully they are Americans first and republicans next. And then look at Romneys campaign, his convention, his consistency. HIs only consistency is that he NEVER NEVER NEVER says the same way twice. It is to the point that if America is that ignorant I guess they deserve and need an ignorant president which Obama isn't. But don't whine when he is elected Romney that is. He has no agenda at least that you know of.
Ohio unemployment fell to 7.0% and is improving at the fastest rate since the 90's.
Central Ohio unemployment rate has fallen to 5.7%
Christmas hiring is just beginning. Wait until you see November's numbers.
Romney and Republicans keep saying private businesses are liars and cheats when they predict the best Christmas since the 90's. It's a shame Republicans hate private business so much.
@Debbie
Glad some of you folks in Ohio are ok. Nevada has a 11.8% unemployment, my son hasn't worked in 3 1/2 years. People are stuggling here, Ohio should be concerned for all state not just self. Just wait until the defense employees are layed off in Jan, this entire country will feel it, INCLUDING OHIO.
Debbie:
Where did you get those figures...THEY are NOT CORRECT! Check the Ohio Labor Department stataistics. They show a different picture than you attempt to paint.
AND GUESS WHAT? THere are many more states than Ohio, instead of being selfish and self centered, like Obama and his mindless supporters, THINK of OUR COUNTRY not just you and your community! ...like Obam, like you, it is,in your mind, all about you! YOU are sad and selfish.
Debbie: AGAIN, samre post over and over...and again, IT IS WRONG! Check the statistics at the OHio department of Labor. IT IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT, than you say.
REPEATING a LIE, OVER and OVER, doesn't make it right or a fact!
And you know why the unemployment dropped in Ohio.....it is because they have a republican Governor. Any of the states that have republican governors they are doing way better than the ones that have democrats. What does that tell you. Republicans are more responsible with the taxpayers money and that is why Romnye/Ryan will be voted into office in November/12.
Ohio unemployment rate went doen when they got a Republican governor who actually governed.
Sharriannie...The voters of Nevada in 2010 voted in AGAIN Harry Reid. A portion of the mess of the USA falls directly on Nevada. If he was not head of the Senate there would have been budgets. The 30+ House jobs and economy bills would have been given to the committees and brought to the floor of the Senate. In 2010 Nevada and Nevada alone gave the entire USA 6 MORE YEARS of Harry Reid. Thank you voters of Nevada!
Temp jobs open up every year at this time and end right after the holidays. Very few positions roll over into permanent work. Nothing to get excited about much less claim are jobs created by Obama.
OBAMA the Liar:
In a new TV ad, President Obama makes an inflated claim to have added 5.2 million new jobs. The total added during his time in office is actually about 325,000.
In the ad, the president says “over 5 million new jobs” while the figure “5.2 million” appears on screen. But that’s a doubly misleading figure.
According to the most recent employment figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy has eked out a net gain of 325,000 jobs since January 2009, when Obama took office. And that’s giving credit for roughly 386,000 jobs that the BLS has announced, on a preliminary basis, that it will be adding to this year’s employment totals next year, as a result of its routine annual “benchmarking” analysis.
So let me get this straight.
The right wing, who have been beating the 'big government' drum and the deficit drum and the 'government workers are parasitic leeches' drum for four straight years now are bemoaning the loss of public sector jobs?
lolwut?
Guess the downward trends from pre - 2009 don't count n
