Romney shows confidence at Colorado rally

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney stumps in Morrison, Colo. with running mate Paul Ryan as they crisscross the country visiting key swing states with only two weeks before the election.

MORRISON, Colo. — For the second time Tuesday, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney portrayed his campaign as one that cannot be stopped and attacked President Barack Obama’s lack of vision for the country.

“You see the president’s status quo campaign, you know going forward with the same ideas as we’ve seen over the last four years is, is why he’s slipping,” Romney told an energetic crowd inside the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. “And it’s why our campaign is gaining. It’s why this movement is growing across the country, and it’s why we need you go to out and get other people.”

Romney and his running mate, Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, made their first joint appearance together in the Centennial State with giant blue “R” lights on the rocks over the amphitheater just outside of Denver.

“We're on the home stretch now and I think the people of Colorado are going to get us all the way there, what do you think?” Romney declared before the crowd of roughly 12,000.

In recent weeks, the Romney campaign has become increasingly bullish on their chances for victory in Colorado. It is a state that Barack Obama carried by more than eight points in 2008 but which went Republican in every preceding presidential election dating back to 1992. According to the CBS/NYT/Quinnipiac poll from the beginning of October, Romney was barely leading Obama here 48 percent to 47 percent.

In the final push in the 2012 presidential election, candidates Mitt Romney and Barack Obama make their last appeals to voters.

Advisers to the GOP nominee say they see the suburbs around Denver, particularly in Jefferson County, where Tuesday night's rally was held, as ripe with swing voters, disappointed in the president's leadership.

"We feel really good about Colorado. I think the key swing counties that we're going to be near in the next —during our trip there -- Jefferson county and Arapahoe county -- are I think key to our —are a big part of a winning turn-out model there," Romney senior adviser Kevin Madden told reporters traveling with Romney today. "I think those voters in those counties and elsewhere throughout the state are focused on the economy."

Romney took time during the nighttime rally that also featured performers Kid Rock and Rodney Atkins to thank all the supporters who are helping the GOP ticket across the country.

“You hear the word grassroots from time to time, about how the grassroots are involved. You recognize that the most important thing in helping change the course of a nation and setting the course on a path that will lead to greatness and prosperity again and again, that is the grassroots of America. That's the people of America. That's who we are tonight. That is you, and your willingness to be here tonight. It makes the difference,” Romney said, with just 14 days to go until Election Day.

Interesting ... even if Romney wins Colorado, he has no path to the White House without Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nevada and New Hampshire, which are all leaning 60% or better in favor of Obama.

BTW ... I'm giving Romney Florida and Virginia.

That gives Obama 281, Romney 257. B'bye Romney.

Romney is winning because he can do two things Obama can’t. Work with the other party and get us out of this financial mess we are in. Obama has failed miserably on both counts.

Jody,

So you think that Romney can "work with the other party" why? Because he SAYS that he can? Simply just another Romney lie.

If he wins, and God help us if he does, Congressional Democrats will meet the night of Romney's inauguration and vow to obstruct EVERY SINGLE Romney initiative and "Make him a one term President". GUARANTEED.

Payback's a bitch, Jody.

Can you tell me how he didn't? His tenure as governor of Massachusetts speaks for his ability to work with both sides. On top of that, Romney isn't even much of a hard right winger or a middle of the road guy, he's just a solutions guy. Thats what we need right now.

I'm more of a Madison guy myself.

Grandoll, you REALLY need to come to earth and deal in reality. Starving yourself on the diet the liberal media is feeding you is not good for your health. For one day, try and be honest with yourself and stop lying to people you don't even know. You'll feel better. You should focus on your new life where unemployment is lowering and people feel good about the future for a change. Obama is a good guy to perhaps have a beer with, but he's leading the nation down a path of ruin and most except for a few such as yourself began to realize this more than a year ago. Come join the rest of us who have figured it out.

For thirty years, now, Republicans have been yammering about small government, deficits, the glories of the free market, and the incompetence and wastefulness of government.

It's all been a big lie, part of a well funded and cleverly executed scam, designed to enable the ultra rich and corporations to literally take power out of the hands of government and money out of the pockets of individual citizens.

Don't fall for the Republican scam.

@ Jody - At least President Obama had the guts to come out with a plan, detailed at that. Where's Romney's????? Wait, let me rephrase that.......Where is the REAL Romney's plan? See the problem with the guy you're voting for doesn't know who he is and last night's debate proved it. Also another interesting point that I'm sure you didn't think about......When you vote for Romney, you actually voting for Grover Norquist, you know, the guy that Romney signed a pledge for....How are you going to say you are going to "serve" the people of the United States, The ONE'S that elected you then say "nevermind, I have to honor this pledge I signed." Not to mention his "energy plan" that he conveniently had written on a piece of paper AFTER his fundraising event with all the big oil folks. As the famous line goes "You just can't make this up!"

STexan - You talk about reality but you you fail to see the truth yourself. Do me a favor before you start talking about "reality" Look at the economy for the last year and tell he it hasn't gotten a little better than when Obama took office. Then do me a favor and look at what happen from the time Obama took office, you know when the congressional republicans decided they weren't going to do the job of the people that elected them to OBSTRUCT everything the President put forth or presented. Then look at 2010, you know the famous republican saying "JOBS, JOBS, JOBS". Where are they? Then couple that with the debt debacle that the Republicans AGAIN refused(thanks to the pledge they signed to Grover Norquist) a great plan engineered by Boehner and the President to not only balance the budget but cut spending by $4 trillion dollars. NOW imagine if congressional Republicans (and some democrats) would have DONE their job, PUT the PEOPLE first instead of party and worked with the president on some of these important issues, where do you think the country would be now????

Talk about a reality check.......

No it hasn't. Growth is a meager 1.25%, the recent drop in unemployment was due to a wave of part-time employment - not full-time, we have the fewest number of people in the workforce since the carter years and interest rates lower than anything we have ever seen hasn't had any significant impact on the housing market.

Now you tell me - How come, with the largest infusion of capital EVER into the system, the economy failed to recover in any appreciable way?

My answer is that the Obama administration - through regulatory over-reach - has placed a boot on the throat of the economy. It will never recover as long as Obama is in the White House.

If Romney wins, it's only because he own the voting machines in Ohio. The AMERICAN PEOPLE don't want him as president. The repubs will have to cheat to get romney in. And if you make less than 250 a year, why the hell do you think you are a republican?

Every time Obama tries to help the Real American people, the corrupt rich punish the working class. The Corporations have too much power and Obama is tyring to bring all world leaders together to force the corporations to give to their countries instead of take take take and that is what they are doing. Taking my home, taking my pension, taking our sons and daughters to a fake war and giving nothing in return. It isn't Obama, it's people like Mitt who are putting a wrench in this economy.

Q22, Did you read your response to my question? Isn't 1.25% better than 0 or negative growth? I also guess you haven't been paying much attention to the slow growth in home prices and drop in foreclosures (at least here in Florida which is a BIG DEAL) before you made that statement. See this is what I'm talking about when it comes to reality. You either see it or you refuse to because you don't want to admit the truth and agree(like Romney did all night) with the President that we are seeing positive growth.

Also in response to your "regulatory over-reach", If that was the case then why has the stock market more than doubled in value since the administration implemented these same regulations?

Now let's tackle that "infusion" of capital shall we? There has to be some kind of confidence level in order for the economy go grow at the pace we "feel" it should. if you would have read my whole comment you would have understood why the economy is not growing as quickly as people would like it to. All one has to do is point to Congress who is charged with creating policy NOT the President as some of you would like to believe. If Congress won't do their job, then why would companies that moved jobs overseas during the Bush Presidency be so willing to move jobs back when they continue to enjoy the same policies and breaks they got from the previous administration? I wouldn't....

Again, talk about reality......

Advisers to the GOP nominee say they see the suburbs around Denver, particularly in Jefferson County, where Tuesday night's rally was held, as ripe with swing voters, disappointed in the president's leadership.

I say these so called Swing voters:

1. President Obama is the one to bring our country back from the financial collapse / abyss we were in 2008-2009.

2. In 2009 private lenders and Banks would not lend to GM, Chrysler and GMAC and that's why President rescued all three companies and with that over 1.2 million jobs were saved.

3. Affordable Healthcare act does provide lot of benefits to Americans with no cost to the government but with taxes on pharma, insurance companies and medical devices company. Our country will see the benefits not now, but 5 years and 10 years down the line.

So, I ask these swing voters, what is there to be disappointed about Obama? It was the Republican Congressional leaders beholden to Norquist and others, are the ones who haven't acted on Jobs initiatives and that's the problem.

You, Independent Voters, would have been worse off under McCain if he had been our President and we will be in the next four years if Romney were to become President. He has no ideas to put this country to back the golden years of Clinton. So, People, if you are worried about your family and your future, Vote for Obama.

I'm not sure why Mitt Romney has been changing his position back and forth on different policies the last year, but it makes me nervous.

All along I have been trying to figure out what is his deal with college education funding and tax credits for those of us with kids in college, and I still can't get a straight answer. Every time the answer is different.

And it worries me about the last debate when Romney was suddenly agreeing with all the President's current foreign policies after taking an almost war-like stance about the Middle East and foreign policy for the past year. Now, he's Mr. Congeniality and all for World Peace. Huh?

I know Mr. Romney's five sons will never go to war, but I have two sons who could be eligible.

Like Dr. Phil says, "the best indication of future behavior is past behavior." And the GOP has always had two loves: MONEY and WAR. I don't think that has changed.

And now he's playing with words in an effort that almost looks like brainwashing to get votes in Ohio.

What should a voter believe? How do we know what he would do if he were in office?

I used to think if Mitt Romney won, it would not be the end of the world, but now I am not so sure ...

Very scary.

Romney will shamelessly say anything to get elected. If he gets in, watch out. Most of his advisors are ex=Bush neocon warhawks. The very same advisors that pushed war with Iraq since 1998 are pushing for war with Iran. Romney's willingness to tell whatever lies that will advance his agenda combined with the push for war, will get a lot of people killed, your sons and daughters.

Don't be fooled by Romney's recent shift to a more moderate position. With so many Bush people on his team, America will be driven into the ditch again just as we were climbing out.

Moody's predicts 12 million new jobs in the next 4 years leaving everything that Obama has done in place. Why is it that Romney's tax cut plan will only give the same 12 million jobs?(and only if everything goes the way they hopes it does).

In Romney's plan, they constantly refer to what happened in other recessions, yet they never reference the the crash that most resembles the one we are climbing out of, the Great depression of the 30's. It took 10 years and a world war to get out of that one.

Romney is cherry picking the economic theories to present his rosey vision of tax cuts balancing the budget. Reality will not be kind to such wrecklessness. Just as Bush's advisors cherry picked information that fit their agenda to go to war with Iraq, the same advisors have cherry picked the economics of recovery. America cannot afford the same Iraq like fiasco happening to the economy. Romney's numbers don't add up unless some segment of the population,(everyone but the rich), will be paying a lot more.

Think about it and vote.

I have to laugh at anyone that says Romney's record as governor speaks for itself like it's a good thing.

First off do some research, John McCain's campaign did extensive research on Romneys term as Governor and found that Romney did cut taxes, but he also cut funding to local government which caused the local governments to raise property taxes to make up the difference. He ran for Governor saying he would lower corporate taxes but once in office he raised them by closing loop holes, at one point businesses were paying an additional $340 million per year in taxes. He increased fee's on everything he could find and in the end MA. was the 7th most expensive state to do business in.

Any of this sound familiar? I know you supporters won't believe this, but just wait when Romney wins, and closes loopholes business will leave the country. Be careful what you wish for it might come true.

I almost forgot, Romney also spent most of his time as governor either on vacation or not in MA. 417 days out of 4 years.

Yes Dave, you are correct, Romney is starting to sound quite a bit like Charlie Sheen.

The only reason Romney is moving nationally is because of the 24 hour propaganda cycle of FOX, LIMBAUGH, BECK, HANNITY, et al. If the FAIRNESS DOCTRINE were still in place (thanks again Ronnie) they couldn't get away with it.

But here is the good news. They are concentrating their ebullience on NATIONAL NUMBERS and that is misleading. The only numbers that count are in the swing states and Obama still leads in the swing states. So, not only is Romney lying to US, he's misleading his own base to stay in the game.

Remember, it don't mean a thing if you ain't got that swing (state).

Hey Romney, believe it or not there's something to be said for consistency in vision, thought, and action.

Consistency in policy will allow people to follow your words and your actions. It's called effective leadership. Those acting in the name of the current administration have little doubt of what Obama stands for or what decisions he would make... those "following" Romney haven't a clue what he would say or do... do I cut taxes for the rich or not... do I support illegal immigrant kids or not... have an abortion or not... pay women equally or not... negotiate with outlaw countries or not... ready, fire, aim, or not.

President Obama gave us traditional democratic schemes and Mr Romney will give us traditional republican schemes. The problem for the president now is people are focusing on the results of his time in office not his words as opposed to 08 when people focused on his words and were not concerned with his lack of experience. Mr Obama and his minions have gone on the attack because defending the record is just not good political strategy, it will be interesting to see how it works out when hope and change becomes fear and loathing or hot air hits the road take your pick.

Rasmussen polls to find out what the voter mix can be expected to be. Results 48 - 48.

Survey USA also offered a poll showing Obama 48, Romney 45.

39% Democrats 32% republicans. WRONG! - Republican turnout to early voting and absentee is 7 points higher than last year with Democrats turnout down 6 points. 2008 early voting turnout 42% Democrats, 22% Republicans. This year it is 36% Democrats and 29% Republicans.

Ohio is probably headed to Romney and by the same polling company Brown is down to a 1 point lead.

Jody - No, Romney cannot work with the other party. Once again, it's the same old GOP tactic of saying something that is untrue over and over again until people start believing it. Yes, he got Romneycare through the Mass. Legislature, which was more a victory for Democrats in the state than for him. However, Gov. Romney vetoed over 800 pieces of legislation in his four short years in office. That's NOT bipartisan cooperation. That's the Party of No.

Worth a read, says it all about Obama.

Washington Post Hits Obama Hard

As I’m sure you know, the Washington Post newspaper has always had a reputation for being extremely liberal, so the fact that its editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama in its newspaper makes this a truly amazing event and a news story in and of itself. Finally, the truth about our President and his obvious agenda is starting to trickle through the ‘protective walls’ built by our liberal media.

By Matt Patterson (columnist - Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner) Government & Society:

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages.

How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world's largest economy, direct the world's most powerful military, execute the world's most consequential job?

Imagine a future historian examining Obama's pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a "community organizer"; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote "present"); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.

He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama's "spiritual mentor"; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama's colleague and political sponsor.

It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?

Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day.

But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberaldom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass - held to a lower standard - because of the color of his skin.

Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) "non-threatening," all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?

Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon - affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.

Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow.

Liberals don't care if these minority students fail; liberals aren't around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist.

Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin - that's affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn't racism, then nothing is.

And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate.

All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.

What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks?

In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama's oratory skills, intellect, and cool character.

Those people - conservatives included - ought now to be deeply embarrassed. The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that's when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all.

Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth – it's all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.

And what about his character?

Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles.

Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess.

It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence.

But really, what were we to expect?

The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?

In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job.

When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.

Romney has been all over the place on what he believes so if he gets in the only thing you can be sure of is that the rich will get additional tax breaks and the rest of us will pay for it for many years just as we have for the duba tax cuts. Obama has the economy recovering even with the house of nuts and the filibusters senate. Just think what he could have done if he had not had all of the "pass none of his plans" do nothing congress to make him a one term president, Wise up and save women's rights as well as the middle class.

Romney shows confidence?

Romney the chameleon? That Romney? He has been latched onto Obama's leg trying to ride it all the way into the white house.

He makes whatever Obama does his own. I swear this man would be a lost puppy if he couldn't ride the coat tails of Obama's successes.

He adds nothing original to the conversation. He lies and talks in platitudes or agrees with what Obama has already done.

He is not presidential material. He will run the country like a Bain Capital 2.0.

Think that sounds good? Think again. What obligation does he have to anyone who can't make him more money? He only deals with people to make money. That's been his forte for decades.

So why should he waste a moment of his time on anything else? He was a lousy governor and will make a terrible president.

So what is Romney's agenda?

create 12 million jobs, the same job 12 million jobs that is said to be created regardless of who is in office?

Tax cuts for the uber rich, nothing new, same old, same old policy of Bush43

Increase spending by $2 trillion dollars that the military has not asked for, sounds like a waste of money to me.

What else has he got, outsource more jobs to China?

It amazes me that MSN has not had the story yet on how Obama watched the attacks in Libya and did nothing to save 4 Americans that died that night. He had drones there. He, Biden and Panetti sat there and watched it happen for 7 hours. They could have sent in help for those Americans, but he chose to sit and watch it happen. All the emails regarding that night have been released. Then Obama gets up in front of the nation along with Hillary Clinton and lies to the American people. Obama should be charged with the murder of 4 Americans. He should be impeached. This man is satan himself and anyone who can vote for this murdering ba#$%@* is just as guilty as he is and don't bother calling yourself an American. I can't call a man like that human.

@woody-Exactly what women's rights are being taken away. Women that support obama are full of it. First of all health insurance has always paid for any testing women have done, in fact most of it has been free as part of health maintenace. The only thing insurance never paid for was birth control and rightfully so. The taxpayers should not have to pay for women to be tramps. They have access to bith control and always have-you want to sleep around-then pay out of your pocket. Taxpayers don't owe a woman her pleasures. and for those who can't afford, family planning clinics are already giving it to them for free. As far as for abortion, no one has the right to take the life of an unborn baby. It is okay to call it murder of a fetus if someone kills a pregnant mother, but it is okay for them to killit themselves. Abortion will never be taken away, but taxpayers should also not be forced to pay for the murder of babies. So, really what rights are being taken away from women. This just an excuse that doesn't fly to try to make women believe that their rights are being taken away. I am a woman and I am intelligent enough to know that nothing is being taken away from me. I do not and will not support any woman killing her baby and do not support paying for birth control of women. Women have paid for this themselves for years, really $20.00 bucks a month-wow! and if they think taxpayers should pay for it, it's their man that should help pay for it.

mattfromwash, are you an idiot or just not informed? January 7, 2007 The GPP was 3.5, unemployment was 4.6%, and we had just finished 50 months of positive growth. WHAT HAPPENED? THE DEMOCRATS TOOK CONTROL OF THE PURSE STRINGS! THEY CONTROLLED THE HOUSE AND SENATE AND AS USUAL WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE ECONOMY FALLS. AND YES, YOUR HERO BARACK OBAMA WAS THERE AND FULLY INVOLVED IN THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA. You don't have to leave your computer to see the truth. Of coarse it speaks ill of the failures of the Obama administration and liberals are committing suicide daily for their lack of knowledge. Sorry. The left leaning can,t beat facts so inuendos and lies are their only options. They do lie well and have a hard time looking into the mirrors in the morning trying to figure which fool there are today, but informed? I THINK NOT!!!!

Pat G, the economy doesn't turn on a dime. I don't think it suddenly went into a tailspin b/c democrats gained a majority, not control, in congress.

After 6 years of GWB with a republican congress turning a .25 Trillion surplus into a 1.2T deficit Bush's last year, things had changed, when Dick Cheney said deficits don't matter, remember?

You say democrats are lying, yet your entire paragraph is your distorted view. You say democrats can't beat facts, so they rely on innuendos and facts. Look at the paragraph you just wrote - you are describing yourself. Where are your facts?

It's also funny how you can find ONE thing to harp on when Romney as repeatedly lied since declaring his run for presidency 6 years ago. Also don't you find it awkward and insulting that Romney RUSHED to victimize those that lost their lies in Benghazi not even an hour after it was reported? How about how Romney uses the ex Seal that died in his campaign speeches until the family insisted he stop? You don't find that appalling or despicable?

            Common Nonsense:

Actually, Romney was responding to the State Department's statement issued through the embassy in Egypt apologizing for the video in response to the demonstrations there. If you'll recall, the Obama administration distanced itself from the statement less than an hour after Romney did. Get your facts straight.

As for Benghazi, what I find awkward and insulting is that after repeatedly refusing requests to increase security there which ultimately led to the tragedy, the Obama administration has continued to obfuscate for the sake of political expediency.

After beating the war drums louder and louder the last year, suddenly he agrees with the President's sanctions, etc. etc.

They basically said he's all over the map, he's not the same Romney who saved the 2002 Winter Olympics, or the same Romney who was once a moderate governor of Massachusetts, and that they don't even recognize him anymore.

This could best be summed up by the lyrics of that song, "now you're just somebody that I used to know."

We now know from the Emails that have been released the Obama knew the attack was going on, but did nothing. Obama met with Clinton and Biden less then an hour after the first communication that the embassy was under attack. Obama could have had forces to our Libyan embassy in one hour and decided instead to do nothing. Then they concocted a story about a YouTube video they knew to be a lie, and took that story all the way to a speech at the United Nations. Obama is incapable and incompetent to be president, but he gets support from liberals solely because he is one. Party over country is the liberal way.

Romney definitely won the debate ... and in the process demonstrated a great deal of temperance as a leader.

Romney came in to this foreign policy debate on probation because of Bush - particularly after Iraq and Afghanistan.

Despite Obama's taunts he had to come through as less agressive and definitely not as a bomb thrower. He accomplished this. Obama in contrast came through as petty and unpresidential in personal attacks ... again. Obama may had 'won' the debate but it was a 'Phyric' victory.

Romney is good at demonstrating temperance....he's a Mormon! Hasn't had a drink in 65 years.

Go ahead, vote for Mitt. Unless you live in Ohio, Colorado, or Florida, you can't save his candidacy.

Go watch that segment of the debate, 0bama must have fumbled a prepared response because it made no sense.

Romney said we need more ships to maintain our superiority.

0bama said we don't need more ships because we have ships that planes can land on and ships that go under the water.

0bama said we don't need more ships because ships that handle planes and go under water???

It was a cute remark, but once a rational observer looks at it it makes no sense and comes off as a fumbled "zinger"

We don't need "zingers" we need solutions.

The problem, Jose is that the Mittster ran against everything he has been saying about his foreign policy for over 2 yrs. He now agrees with the President's foreign policy on almost everything? then why has he been saying something different the past 2 yrs, heck even a week ago> and, why, if Ol moderate Mitt is real, why in the world is his foreign policy staff full of the neocons who led us into Iraq and are just itching to get us into Iran? why would he not hire moderates, if he was leaning that way?

There is a real, real possibility that many of you mocking and name-calling Romney are grievously underestimating this guy. His approach and performance at the last debate was truly brilliant in that it was truly methodical in its pre-ordained planning and the discipline of its performance when it opted to sacrifice, for the short-term, firmness in foreign policy due to the high risk of being ‘Bush-stigmatized’ in exchange for a more long-term enduring impression of temperance with viewers. All along while seeking opportunities to divert the discussion to economics matters (his strength), which he also succeeded. Even when he stumbled, particularly on the ‘horses and bayonet’ bit, he did not bit the President’s bait for a fight but stayed the course.

                That's:

                Obama/Biden:3

                Romney/Ryan:1

Romney was lost and out of his element. State by state results of the 3rd debate showed Obama winning in every one except Mississippi, Alabama and Kentucky.

Those states are not exactly known for their successes in the education field.
                *****************************************

U.S. News' online poll of those who visited its debate live blog found Obama won by a similarly decisive margin, 64 percent to 36 percent.

[WATCH: See Where the Candidates Stand on the Issues]

Two other debate surveys, a CNN poll of registered voters watching the debate and an online poll by Google Consumer Surveys, also found Obama won, but by a smaller margin. Forty-eight percent of those in the CNN poll said Obama won, compared to 40 percent for Romney, resulting in an 8 percentage point victory for the president—about the same result as the second. Google's online survey gave Obama a 10 percentage point victory.

Public Policy Polling, a more conventional polling outfit, surveyed voters in 11 swing states who watched the debate. It gave the president an 11 point victory, and an edge across all demographics. The 500 voters surveyed were not persuaded one way or the other by either candidate's debate performance however, the pollsters said.

                Starderup

The strategy was to not win the debate, but to win the votes. Today and tomorrow the effect will start to be noticeable in the tracking polls.

The focus on the debate by romney was to allow Obama to be over agressive. Obama's strategy was to goad Romney into making a fatal error, weather by anger or by foot in mouth.

According to the Fact-checkers, Obama threw a lot of false charges out their that Romney skillfully answered without error and without indignation.

Every undecided focus groups the networks had favored at the close of the debate.

As for PPP. Public Policy Polling is a partisan democrat poll company. After the convention, they "flipped the switch" to increase the percent of democrat polls by 2 or 3 points.

The good news is that the New Romney so strongly agrees with Obama that he will follow most of the same policies that Obama would have followed anyway in a 2nd term, including creating the 12M jobs that are going to be created no matter who is in the White House.

The biggest difference between them is that with Romney we will have much higher deficits -- more tax cuts and more military spending. But as long as our annual deficits stay below 80% of our GDP, that's ok. Like Dick Cheney said, "deficits don't matter."

                Rombama/Obamney in 2012!

We have Obama giving a speech at the United Nations perpetuating a lie about a YouTube video and liberals come up with stupid comments about an aircraft carrier. It is incredible how liberals can make up justification for Obama where none exists, solely because he is a liberal. Party over country, Obama lies our ambassador dies, and liberals provide the cover. What a pathetic excuse for a political party.

Obama made no personal attacks. He did point out the 180 degree turnarounds Romney made (aka lies) which many Americans, you included, seem to have missed. Perhaps Romnesia is contagious. Romney is a pathologic liar. He would wreak havoc and devastate America and the world if elected. He needs to return to devastating companies as a corporate raider and confine his carnage to those who lose their jobs because of him.

Romney also seems to have a somewhat Machiavellian personality and would do anything or say anything to get elected, no matter if it were the truth, a lie, or somewhere in between.

I never agreed with the Mormon faith, but I respected the people. Since Romney has shown such dishonorability in politics and his personal life, it has given me a new view of this cult-like faith.

I am wondering if it is similar to Scientology.

Ambassador Stevens mother was on the radio last week and said she was upset how the President and Leon Panetta lied to her about the events that led up to her sons death. When she asked how her son died she was told that they would get back to her. They haven't. It is sad a mother can't find out how her son died because the President and his staff want to put their spin on it and refuse a mothers legitimate request.

                          Man of Steel,

                          GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

Ambassador Stevens' mother DID NOT say anything derogatory about the President or the circumstances surrounding her son's death. Here is what she DID say:

"I don't think it's productive to lay blame on people."

She also said she "doesn't want to talk about the circumstances surrounding her son's death." And Ambassador Stevens' father has asked Mitt Romney to stop politicizing his son's death, but Mr. Romney continues to do so.

Apparently, Mr. Romney has no respect for our dead patriots or their families, and neither do you or all those other folks on the Vine who checked your post without researching the facts first. That's one thing that drives me crazy about forums like this ... people read something that sounds good to them and then hop on board before even checking it out first.

This is the second time I have caught you circulating this false information you have just made up.

                          Cut it out.

I thought Romney had stopped bringing up the Bengazi matter, even before the last debate. In fact, the post-debate commentators on multiple channels noted this, and on one channel (MSNBC?) a former member of Obama's administration even praised Romney for letting it go.

Anyone notice how Romney slipped in the fact that his 5-point plan will reach a balanced budget in 8-10 years! If the budget isn't balanced - and he surely isn't talking about surpluses! - that means we're running deficits for 8-10 years and that means the national debt is GROWING LARGER! If, as Robme/Lyin say, the national debt is this nation's #1 threat, these two are Public Enemies #1 and #2...in fact, Palin should accuse both of them of "palling around with terrorists"....each other!

The current administration hasn't done anything to reduce the debt (grew by approximately $6 Trillion) or the deficit either. Our current president said he would cut the deficit in half in his first term. Since that wasn't done, it means we are still increasing our debt.

If the debt is that important to you, why would you support Obama either?

Did Obama say that a terrorist attack resulting in American deaths was a "bump in the road" caused by a YouTube video? Yes.

All in a vain attempt to prevent having to acknowledge a terrorist attack during his term which would have greatly diminished the marketability of his "I killed Osama" rhetoric.

                                      OBAMA'S LIE EXPOSED

From Reuters, updated 10/23/2012 9:36:42 PM ET WASHINGTON — “Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.

“The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.

“The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.”

Obama has been caught in a huge lie to the American people. How are the Democrats going to spin this?

Obama was a total failure on all aspects of the Benghazi attack. He didn't anticipate it. Our Ambassador did anticipate it and requested more security. Obama turned him down. While the attack was underway, Obama was hiding under his desk, afraid to send any support. After the attack, Obama knew it was a terrorist attack but deliberately mischaracterized it as a spontaneous demonstration just to deflect blame for his own failure. Finally, two weeks later he was forced to admit the truth.

And now his lie and his incompetence are exposed!

This is confirmed by: The New York Times, October 17, 2012 CAIRO — Libyan authorities have singled out Ahmed Abu Khattala, a leader of the Benghazi-based Islamist group Ansar al-Shariah, or "Partisans of Islamic Law," as a commander in the attack that killed the American ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, last month, Libyans involved in the investigation said Wednesday.

Groups commonly claim responsibility for acts of violence they didn't commit. Part of the job of the President is to gather evidence and facts and then act.

SMH...Cherry picking an article to continue the spin of a Benghazi cover-up. Kannin, that same article also includes the following information:

However, US officials told NBC News that the Ansar al Sharia claim of responsibility was among the many conflicting accounts about the attack, and could not be confirmed in the immediate aftermath. Multiple terror groups often claim credit for the same attack, and such claims need to be assessed.

While officials did mention the possible involvement of "extremists," they did not lay blame on any specific militant groups or possible links to al Qaeda or its affiliates until intelligence officials publicly alleged that on September 28.

Romney proposes a "permanent, across-the-board 20 percent cut in marginal rates," according to his campaign Web site.

ROMNEY at 1st debate: First of all, I don't have a $5 trillion tax cut. I don't have a tax cut of a scale that you're talking about.

Independent economic analysts have confirmed the total loss of revenues would total $4.8 Trillion dollars. Romney disputes that, but has no details of why that wouldn't work. He just assumes his fixes would grow the economy at a rate that only he and Ryan think is possible. They have wildly optimistic claims, and nobody can back them up with numbers.

This is a simple math problem, and the 'successful businessman' can't figure it out.

Speaking of the House and the leader, Boner, they came back from summer recess, and as if that vacation wasn't enough, 8 days later adjourned until NOVEMBER 26. Unbelievable, that in this critical time, when we are looking at the 'fiscal cliff', they punch out and leave. A Democratic request to stay in session was ignored. Boner hammered the gavel, and it was Miller Time!

Obama wouldn't even do an on-the-record interview for a newspaper... something Romney did earlier in the month. Apparently they wouldn't give him a script to memorize before doing the "interview" and he got scared.

Romney’s most stupid claim. When he claims Obama “apologizes” and says the US has always been on the side of democracy abroad and never that of dictators, even wrote a book called “No Apology” he demonstrates an utter lack of historical knowledge or awareness.

Refresh your own memory of our self-interested foreign relations over the years:

We can no longer pick dictators favorable to us. Democracy is on the rise worldwide – and when a country such as Egypt holds elections and chooses a government not to our liking, too damn bad. Either we support democracy – their ability to choose their own government – or we don’t. We can’t have it both ways, Mitt.

Romney has showed how little he understands foreign policy.

EVERY President embarks on visits to foreign countries soon after election. The purpose is to sit down, sometimes meeting the leader of that country for the first time, discuss issues, provide a vision for the future, outline America's position, try to find common ground, and so on.

Mitt's idea is to land, insult, attend a $50,000.00 per plate fundraiser, grab the money and leave.

We are in desperate straits if this guy weasels his way into the White House.

Don't be too sure about that, considering his son has meddled in the voting machine business. Can you spell f-r-a-u-d-m-n-e-y.

I guess they will just watch the Democrats expire in the street then.

                                                      P.S.

Most medics don't care about the condition of the caller, they care about the person needing treatment.

You know it's illegal for an ER to turn away a patient, right? It's a requirement that they see everyone who enters their doors asking for help. At least for any hospital that accepts any form of insurance or government assistance. Which is all of them.

Believe what you want though. Reality is pretty boring.

Incredible how Republicans can so expertly bamboozle the sheep into amnesia. Now we know how Dubbya got elected - twice!

Romney 1st term - live off the Obama's turnaround momentum (just like Bush did from Clinton)

Romney 2nd term - bring America to its knees (just like bush did, only worse)

2020 - elect a Democrat to clean up the mess, then complain he or she didn't clean it up fast enough, despite Republican obstructionism

2024 - re-elect a Republican because everyone forgot the mess that Romney made

                                                          Etc...Bye'bye forever American Dream
