TOLEDO, Ohio -- Continuing the argument he voiced on network morning news shows today, Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday that GOP nominee Mitt Romney is vacillating between saber-rattling and dovishness on foreign policy.
"Last night you saw Gov. Romney rushing to agree with President Obama," Biden told a crowd of over a thousand at the University of Toledo, adding a "whoa!" for good measure.

Vice President Joe Biden gestures while speaking during at a campaign rally, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at The University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.
The vice president said he was "stunned and pleased that Gov. Romney had disavowed so many things he's said in the past and acknowledged that the president was right on so many things."
"Some days they go out there and rattle the sabers, some days they are doves carrying olive branches," he added. "The only thing consistent ... about the way they talk about policy is that they are inconsistent."
The argument echoes his comments to NBC's TODAY that he was "surprised" to hear so much agreement from the GOP nominee.
Biden also won cheers from the friendly crowd for knocking the Republican ticket's "foreign policy out of the 80s, a social policy out of the 50s, and an economic policy out of the 20s."
The rally coincided with the Obama campaign's new push to publicize its vision for the next four years, condensed in a glossy packet that awaited the traveling press arriving at the event. Brandishing a copy, Biden conceded that it "sounds so trite to hold up a plan" but that "it's all here" in the 20-page brochure.
Biden's next event today is a joint rally with the president in Dayton.

Mad man Mitt foreign and domestic policy of Battleships, bayonets, binders and big bird is not what we need. It is more of W. which will stick us back in the ditch we've been clawing our way out of for the last four years. Also it appears that Romney can see oceans through Syria from Iran. What was that all about? Geography? Google earth? Or how about just one of those old fashioned globes we purchased for our children while they attended elementary school. Someone please send Mitt Romney a globe. He needs it badly.
Willard was getting so cozy with President Obama last night, I thought by the end of the debate he would of kissed him on the lips!
Thankfully, Queen Annie was standing by with her leash to reel him back in...
How true this statement is I saw over @ The DailyKos just now.
I'm not sure the same rules apply to him. Unfortunately.
If POTUS had been a Republican--or, perhaps, merely an old white guy--he'd be on Mount Rushmore by now for saving the economy, killing bin Laden, ending the Iraq War, rescuing the auto industry, securing fair pay for women, and giving all Americans access to affordable, high-quality private health insurance.

hey Pat you get RSS feeds from Pravda too?
Romney changed his tune because he's been getting a lot of push back from Israel with his war mongering BS. Romney knows President Obama is respected throughout the world. He's just now figuring that out.
So now he has to pretend he agrees with the president, when in fact he doesn't. Norquist said it - they only want a president to sign stuff, that's it. Particularly tax cuts for the rich.
We all know that's what is going on. If you choose to ignore that little tidbit, then go ahead. Just don't vote.
The rest of us are fighting for America's future. Romney and the entire Republican Party's views are not in the best interest of America.
This was a party who tried to bring this entire country down the MOMENT Barack Obama was inaugerated. They haven't changed a damn thing since then.
They're evil people who don't give a damn about anyone. You don't like President Obama? Don't vote. Romney is in over his head. We can't afford that any longer.
Stop taking this country to a place where we will never recover from.
Otherwise, your children will pay the price. Not the politician's children. Your children.

How is Joe Biden relevant in what is most definitely a race between Governor Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama?.....this is not Comedy Central.......every time Joe Biden speaks he is at risk of dropping another gaffe bomb and the media just laps it up and Jay Leno says thank you.
OMG Bev!
I don't know how you find them so fast! LMFAO!
American prestige abroad has gone up in the last few years under Pres. O, after having sunk during 8 years of Bush.
Obama says that those who did terrorist attack will be accounted for , whats the hold up ?
It's really easy to agree with your opponent when you have nothing else to stand on. Romney thinks that in agreeing with President Obama on many of the foreign policy decisions that President Obama has made makes him just as good as President Obama. It doesn't, Romney. You appeared to be weak minded, with nothing to add to the table that hasn't already been done, except that President Obama does it better and he will continue to do it better over the next four years. I thought Romney looked old and haggard last night, like he can't handle the rigors of the campaign. Well, if he can't handle that, I have no hope that he can handle being President of the United States. Did you guys notice that it appeared that Ann Romney was assisting Romney off the stage. He seemed completely spent, physically and mentally. I guess I really understand what she meant by being fearful of his mental well being. I saw it as they walked off the stage last night. No, America, this candidate is not, and never will be, ready to lead this country.
Give 'em Hell, Joe! No malarkey from you!

Mitt - the Ugly American - who is clueless about the outside world and is unnecessay belligerent toward the outside world.
.
He raised eyebrows among our British allies during the olymPigs, and did some saber-rattling to Syria that has worried Americans. Another war? please!
.
Mitt has not learned from Teddy Roosevelt's smart power approach in foreign policy - speak softly, and carry a big stick!!
.
BTW, The Ugly American is a 50s' novel about a clueless American diplomat with tons of new-found wealth but no idea about the outside world in the Southeast Asia - presaging the coming of the Vietnam War - a fiasco for US foreign policy - fast forward to 2012 - talking about a clueless American with vast wealth? Mitt is the surest candidate for the Ugly American.
Mitt was only talking tough when he was surrounded by the rest of the GOP candidates.
Romney and Obama have the same basic foreign policy and it consists of more intervention, fueling the fire, and supporting the same kind of people that were considered 'insurgents' in Iraq.
Its a neo-con foreign policy being executed by a democratic president; it sucks and you people are truly ignorant.
In Defense of Bayonets & Horses! 5 Problems With The President’s Zinger Last Night
1. There are big plans to cut the military budget, including cuts to the Navy — and the number of Navy ships has been declining
2. Bayonet & knife combat training is on the rise; we could be using more bayonets now than in 1916
3. The use of horses is on the rise and statues are being resurrected in their honor
4. Horses are also used for state and military funerals
5. We no longer technically use “battleships”
“The last battleship on active duty was USS Missouri (BB 63) decommissioned Mar. 31, 1992. In the 21st century, there are no battleships in the United States Navy.”
Were his fans wearing their "Foward" shirts today?
That happened to be hilarious- too bad NBC, (as usual), missed it.
It's also kind of funny that Soledad O"brien decided not to let people voice how they were planning to vote last night. (Shhh! It's a secret!). CBS did- and Romney won the votes of the folks in their focus group. .
Keep whistling Dixie while strolling past the graveyard, Team Obama.
Why wouldn't Obama make a push to get those responsible for the Benghazi terror attack. wouldn't it be a win for him to show how tough he is , but yet he does nothing. maybe he hasn't had a briefing in last two months again.
Obama may have pleased his base, but he also showed his arrogance and why he can't work across the aisle with Republicans and exactly why he is such a lousy president.
"The only thing consistent ... about the way they talk about policy is that they are inconsistent."
That pretty much sums up Romney and the republican party in general.
Why would anyone vote for someone who has a track record of saying/doing one this day and then doing a 180 the next?
How would the average person be able to make plans if the leader of the country is constantly revearsing his stance on every policy and thought he has?
How would a business know what direction to take if a president of the country said one thing one day and then changed it completely the next?
The obvious solution is to re-elect president Obama and take out all of the guess work. To make further strides for the country to move forward, you will also need to vote for as many democrats as possible to rid our country of the Teapublicans that have sat on their hands for the past 2 years trying to thwart everything the president asked of them to better the country. The Teapublicans seem to have no regard for the plight of the average person. All they are concerned about is keeping their cushy jobs and unseating the president.
OBAMA/BIDEN 2012
Obama can't command a room. That's why he lost all 3 debates. He is childish and prone to having fits. It was shown in the debates who the real leader was and it was NOT Obama. Obama like to say Commander and Chief but he can also call himself a CEO but that don't make it so. The Military can't stand the man. That's why he want to suppress their votes.
What a fool you Dems have chosen to follow.
Soledad also interviewed one before the debate and the 'undecided' voter was wanting to hear more about job creation. Soledad had to point out to this 'undecided' voter that it was unlikely that would happen a whole lot since this debate was about Foreign Policy.
uh oh I can here cries of 'faux' racism from the low info troglodytes.
the thing is the Marine corps still uses bayonets. Even as early as 1960's the marines were using them to fight the VC and NVA at Khe Sanh.
The USN now has Carrier Groups instead of Battlegroups
... and over here, we have another right-winger (sonmanvb) with zero sense of either irony or humour attempting to dissect a pretty damn clever quip that obviously went right over his head.
Son, I think you'd best go back to trying to figger out how many angels kin dance on the head of a pin; yer jus' clean outta yer depth here.
(With apologies to Walt Kelly.)
Joe Biden hit it right on the head.
It's impossible to know where Romney is on any issue because he ALWAYS changes his position from one thing to another, and, as we saw last night, even Romney himself constantly changes.
The only thing "consistent" about Romney is that he is completely "inconsistent".
Obama/Biden 2012
Why is it that the New York Times can manage to track down a terrorist ringleader of the 9/11 attacks on our consulate in Benghazi, yet the United States government can’t?
Romney Flanagan
From the article above:
Didn’t you love the part last night when the Governor talked about how proud he was of his record in Massachusetts?
Funny how the good people of Massachusetts don’t think so.
The President is leading by 15 points in the Bay State.
P.S. Congressman Ryan is losing in Wisconsin as well.
With President Obama winning 2 out of 3 debates, and Joe Biden winning the VP debate, the majority of Americans are very confident President Obama is the right choice November 6th.

Interesting - Bush NEVER could get bin Laden yet the righties are down on Obama for not getting the terrorists who attacked our ambassador two scant weeks ago. As usual, the radical right show they have no character - no integrity at all.
Thomas - the people of Mass HATE Romney. My brother-in-law who is a die hard Republican won't pull the lever for Romney. Said he is a disgrace to the party.

Ohioans,
Deliver the Presidency to Obama. Re-elect him, he had your 6 when you needed it.
Romney had 2 choices last night as it concerned foreign policy.
1) He could go toe to toe with President Obama on foreign policy issues and get the snot knocked out of him because he is totally clueless on foreign policy
or
2) He could be a lapdog and crawl right up into the President's lap.
We all know what he did last night. The question becomes, if the unfortunate happens and he is elected President what will he do when he has to face World Leaders in real time?
michigan northener
michigan northener,
How long did it take for Bush to get bin Laden? You can't answer that can you?
FYI: Bush was golfing and clearing brush at his ranch while President Obama clearing orders to kill bin Laden
HMMM ... Romney races to the center and finding Obama already there stakes a claim to a photo-finish.
Romney was such a total failure last night. For years, he has been criticizing President Obama's foreign policy, beating the Iran war drums, wanting to send troops back into Iraq or not have had them leave in the first place, not wanting to leave Afghanistan--last night, Mitt flip flopped to agree with everything President Obama has done.
Andrea Mitchell had some republican on, didn't catch the name or see the entire interview but this GOP guy said on air that it wasn't Mitt Romney who changed his foreign policy ideas, it was President Obama who did--in the GOP alternate universe, it was President Obama who agreed with Romney. Seriously, did that yahoo honestly think people would buy that crock? There are videos, tapes, printed documents that prove it was Romney who suddenly flip flopped.
michigan northerner, since you are finger pointing and demanding instant justice, why is it President Bush never bothered to find Osama bin Laden? He had 7 years but Bush said he really didn't think much about him, really didn't care where he was.
michigan northener,
You gonna answer my question? I guess you can't.

The hunt for Bin Laden had been ongoing since 911 and you know it Seeking Sanity, or you should know it. The discovery of his location came on the Obama watch and the Seal Team was in flight when it was announced to Obama. Why did the Joint Chiefs wait that long - because they were concerned Obama would not give the order to terminiate Bin Laden.
Obama was pressured into the move.
And what did Barry do when talking to the American public after the hit, use the "I" so many times you would have thought it was Barry who took the shot. And, in the acter-action, the Obama team distributed information vital to the Seal Team and the person who provided the location to the US intelligence team.
Where is this informate now - in a Pak jail for giving up the information.
This situation could have happened under the watch of any president, it happened under Obama. But the distribution of the after-action information would not have been distributed by them. Barry doesn't care what happens to our humit gathers, only cares about the Barry image!
How can you libbies be so misdirected? You, the Bev and the Polish Princess are just too into yourselves to understand right from wrong.

This is just another reason why it's so hard to have honest debates in this country. By publicly attacking Romney for agreeing with some of the administrations positions, Obama and Biden make it that much more difficult to find common ground in the future.
Think about it for a second - if someone you work with is going to publicly bash you for whatever you say, do you really want to work with them?
President Obama has a plan and has put it out for us to read. Romney on the other hand says he has a plan but we've never seen it and we never will. His ONLY plan is to, amongst other things is to get rid of Obamacare, of Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security, Education, Teachers, Unions, etc. etc. Is this a plan? I don't think so. Forget this radical.
OBAMA IN 2012.
This is the 70 year old, who is a heart beat from the Presidency who thinks we are fighting in IRAN, not Afghanistan, and doesn't know what State he is in. He may have been brilliant once but now he is senile and Obama exercised gross irresponsibility putting him on the ticket.
ThomasGrande
Thanks, I've always fancied myself a writer for him. lol
If you don't find the humor in some of this BS,...you may as well cry yourself to sleep every night.
Someone who changes his position constantly is not a leader. Someone who leaves a trail of bitter voters in his past (Mass. voters) is not a leader. He waffles. He is out of touch- battleships? Oh my God. The only economy that Romney will be good for will be his own pockets. That is what he does. He also knows how to be trickey. How not to say anything. How not to stand for anything. He double-downs on horrible statements (47%) and then he changes his mind completely (I was completely wrong). He is going to repeal Obamacare on day 1, and then, well he will keep the best parts of it. He is against abortion and then well, maybe in cases of rape or incest. He calls the President out on his foreign policy in the Middle East and then he agrees with him. He will not show his income taxes because he knows that will spell g-a-m-e o-v-e-r. This man has done nothing whatsoever to show that he should be handed the reigns of the most powerful position in the world.
Assuming for the sake of argument that you are right, how is Obama any different?
Romney made a Complete fool of himself on the debate, was he intoxicated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ seeking sanity, beverly ,and that other liberal troll whats her name ?
#1 Bin laden was in hiding.
#2 The information gained that led to the assassination of Bin laden was gained under GW's watch.
#3 This guys sitting around drinking a latte frappe whatever it is, right out in the open. laughing.
I forecast that Obama will launch strikes into libya in a effort to stop his sliding poll numbers right before election. Again attacking a sovereign nation without congressional approval.
Joe Biden'sm biggest contribution to this campaign, was being part of a punch-line at the Al Smith Dinner last week.
Romney did show big differences between himself and Obama last night. For one thing, he'll give no "wiggle room" to the Russian President.
Secondly, he'll maintain oversees troops strength at levels which will keep certain regions, and The United States safe.
Thridly, he'll explore the possibility of doing more trade with Latin America, and put tough restrictions on expanding trade with China.
Lastly, he'll tighten the sanctions against Iran, until they give up their efforts to produce a nuclear weapon, and he'll reexamine our relationship with Pakistan. For as much as we dislike them, they are a nuclear power, and we cannot dismiss them.
Obama is CLUELESS and got most of his foreign policy from Bill Clinton. That's not a bad thing altogether, because Clinton was a great foreign policy President.
But, wouldn't you like to see leadership at the top, without someone holding the Presidents hand, like we have now?
We cannot afford four more years of Obama's failed economic & failed foreign policies.
If you think otherwise, just ask the families of those diplomats who died in Benghazi.
DEMOCRATS FOR ROMNEY, 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey michigan northener #1.50, is that all you people do is lie, the information gained to get bin was three years after "W" left office, go back to bed and sleep it off !!!!!!!!!!!
"Stop with all your Bull" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went to the Obama campaign web site and read through the President's plan for the next 4 years. What is provided is devoid of details, budgetary information, or analysis. For example to quote from the site we have:
It talks about the President reinvesting money so apparently the President considers that the money that is being spent on the War in Afganistan is his personal money and not the tax payers.
The President promised that the 2012 federal deficit will not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet the actual deficit came to more than 1.1 trillion dollars. So much for the President's promise. The President has been trying to get congress to increase taxes on the "rich" but with no success. If the President does succeed with his tax increase for the "rich", what he has proposed, at most will provide the federal government with .1 trillion dollars more in taxes. To start paying down the debt the federal government has to run a surplus. Using 2012 deficit numbers and assuming the tax on the rich, to achieve a surplus with half of the savings from the Afgahn war, the war savings will have to exceed two trillion dollars per year. Currently we could not achieve such savings if we completely shut down our military, all foriegn aid and half of the remaining federal government. It is impossible. The President's plan is based on fantasy economics. The President has no sense of budget. It is he who needs to improve his math education.
really Patriotic ? so the water boarding of a terrorist that gave up the information about a courier they followed for years happened when ?
The search for bin Laden was a nine or 10-year long painstaking effort, primarily by CIA
The raid itself had 24 Navy Seals, a translator and a dog. They went in on two Black Hawks and there were two Chinook helicopters as back-up. We’re talking about several hundred special operators involved in the mission itself, but hundreds of thousands of people working on finding bin Laden for nearly a decade.’
Mr Bowden takes issue with some of the alleged intelligence gathering methods, however. ‘Torture was definitely involved in the interrogation of several key people,’ he said.
Did the US only receive information obtained through torture, or did they approve the use of torture?
‘The United States approved it,’ said Mr Bowden. ‘Some interrogations were done by other countries that are notorious for not being scrupulous. But key people on the trail were interrogated by the CIA itself, sessions that definitely involved “coercive methods”.’

But let's face it, foreign policy is a distant 3rd behind the economy and our broken ass Fed/Banking system.

What's funny is the lack of intellect on the part of some viewers of last night's debate who somehow took away from that debate that Mitt Romney agreed with the President on everything, which he didn't. What was mind boggling to those few people was the fact that an adult was in the room and was able to give credit to certain actions this administration has taken because he agreed with them. Just to be clear, what was not adult was the ranting and raving and maniacal glaring of the current WH occupant who looked more like an angry kid than a responsible Commander in Chief.

Man you libs are so stupid. Romney played Obama like a cheap guitar by agreeing with Obama on his foreign policy he has made the election one dimensional. Now it is now all about the ECONOMY.
Mitt will let the press destroy Obama over Libya and not get his hands dirty. The more information that comes out the more you realize that the guy in office is incompetent. Further Obama has nothing to bank his economic hat on. Let see unemployment/jobs? Nah! GDP? Nah!, National Debt? Nah!, Poverty level? Nah!
Remember he once said terror...................unfortunately it appears the terrorist lives in the WH.
I agree with Joe. When Romney was pinned down by Bob on would he start a War he backed down and agreed with the President on how he is handling the situation in Libya and Syria. I saw that, but of Course Fox News Did not.
All I saw from Romney was going on and on and BABBLE after a while. He seem like he was talking just to hear himself after awhile, and REALLY SAYING NOTHING.
Bob, Saw that and tried to STOP him.
That is what he did in the First Debate OVER TALK AND LIED AND DID A COMPLETE 180 on his SEVER CONSERVATISM.
NOBODY
Has a foreign policy that is clear and workable in an ever changing sociopolitical landscape...
Wow, how the left can spin information from the debate. Obama lied so many times it would take to long to list them. But I am sure the left will try and spin them anyway.
Let's just take one of the biggest lies: When Romney mentioned that Obama tried to rewrite/amend the SOFA with Iraq so the U.S. could leave thousands of troops in Iraq past the Dec 31, 2011, date set by the Iraqi Government and President Bush, Obama immediately interrupted, and talked over Romney. Yet Obama continues to want to take credit for removing all American troops from Iraq and says it was one of his campaign promises.
Spin it lefties, if Obama was such a good leader and negotiator we would still be in Iraq, personally I am glad Obama failed.
Gomer,
Perhaps you could give us a valid link so we can read them for ourselves?
Thank you in advance for backing up your bull@!$%#!
SFCret, you think Feisty realizes there's a difference between Army and Marines? Nah she'll call you Gomer cuz 'its cool'. as for the SOFA ive been saying it too. Feisty wants a link, well have the layabout google SOFA Iraq.
sfcret,
If I were you or any of Mr. Romney's supporters I'd be more concerned that over the course of the last 2 weeks the Romney/Ryan campaign has changed course on Afghanistan. Just 2 weeks ago Congressman Ryan would not commit to 2014 Afghanistan withdrawal. Now, just last night, Mr. Romney has contradicted the Congressman...HIS OWN RUNNING MATE!!!
Still waiting Gomer...
In the meantime, here is the breakdown on who won the "Pants on Fire" award last night;
The dynamic duo of the Republican party feels it is better to keep their base in the dark as much as possible about things going on outside of their little bubble. I was watching C-Span the other night and there was some woman talking to college students and she told them that the best way to introduce young people to politics was to have them read books by Sean Hannity and Lush Limpballs. Talk about phucking up the younger generation!
Hey feisty, go and look up any of the early videos of Obama's apology tour where he used the very exact words that Romney said he used about the United States.
Hey, Caesar, do you think Mr. Romney realizes there's a difference between Army and Marines?
Early on in the debate last night Mr. Romney referred to our military as having "terrific soldiers". Now, I have never served in any of our armed forces, but I know that you never tell a Marine he is a "soldier"...not unless you want to drink your meals through a straw for the next month because of a broken jaw.
floridamom1- you're a liar. Every news station debunked the "apology" tour last night as totally false. You apparently didn't get the message!
Obama/Biden 2012
"Apology Tour"? Do we really have to go over this one AGAIN?
www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/oct/17/mitt-romney/mitt-romney-says-barack-obama-began/
After what Bush did to this country and to the world, and our allies, you are damn right that President Obama had to do some fence mending! No apologies, just letting the world know that there was new and educated leadership now in power in the United States and that we are looking forward to nation build and reaffirm our commitment to our friends and allies around the world.
thats clever noid but care to tell me the strength ratio's between the armed services? In fact sailors or airman arent soldiers either. but if that is the best you have, please stick to it. But i have never broken a persons jaw for accidentally calling me a soldier. Hell ask Torpedo how many he's hospitalized for that as well. As for Romney he was being very broad and not uncommon. Im sure Obama doesnt realize the difference either. In fact I doubt he knows where 8th and I is.
Oh! Mommy got the message alright!
She just choses to continue to make a fool out of herself!
Leave her be, it's very entertaining if nothing else! lol
Hey Noid, I'm pretty sure our Military does have terrific soldiers. And terrific, sailors, pilots etc, etc.
But you keep pushing that rope. Just 2 more weeks and this place is going to turn into a gutter.
TO: sfcret who wrote:
President Obama did remove all American troops from Iraq, and it was one of his campaign promises.
As for leaving some American Troops in Iraq, it was Republicans who wanted American Troops to remain in Iraq to protect Halliburton and the rest of Bush and Cheney's oil people. Do you want to pay for that, or is America too bankrupt like Republicans say we are, to use taxpayer money to defend Halliburton on Iraqi soil.

WCA, whats the difference now? LOL. Thats ok I like when Noid gives us little 'factoids' LOL
WCA: It already is a gutter here with the likes of you and some of your other friends.
Hey CA, can you imagine this place after Obama loses?
These folks are going to lose their damn minds.
You think it'd bad now? It'd gonna look like Detroit on Devil's night up in here!
It will be entertaining to watch.
Sad but entertaining.
That's right Alaska Girl, you keep that open Liberal mind to dissenting opinions. Name calling is all the rage in the "Progressive" part y these days.
Feisty - I don't stay on the internet all day like you do, I have better things to do. You want a link try this one: http://factcheck.org/2012/10/false-claims-in-final-debate/.
As far as the apology tour being debunked that's not true. The reason most think it was debunked is because the exact words "apology, or I'm sorry" was not stated. However there are other ways to deliver an "apology" without uttering the word.
Now answer my question, why does Obama want to take credit for removing the troops out of Iraq and ending the war? We all know, except maybe the left wing nuts, that the agreement to withdraw the troops and end American military participation was agreed to and signed by President Bush.
BTW, I did not agree with the Bush invasion of Iraq, especially while in Afghanistan. I also don't agree with Romney and Obama that we should have set a date of 2014 as a date of withdrawal from Afghanistan. I believe we should have left Afghanistan within 6 months after the killing of OBL.
For the love of GAWD!
Your own LINK claims it's bull@!$%#!
I thought us left wing nuts weren't allowed to mention Bush? lol
Maliki Endorses Obama's Iraq Timeline in Huge Blow for McCain, Bush
In a stunning breakthrough for Obama, Iraq's prime minister endorsed the Dem candidate's timeline for withdrawing combat troops from Iraq.

What a load of crap. I do not think the FACTS say what you claim they state,...

pssst. Two, count them, TWO pants on fire for Romney - plus a whole slew of 'qualified truths'. what a bunch of BS.
Fortunately they can only torch cars in the virtual sense, much like *popcorn. And WCA, its the likes of Alaska Girl and others that continually paint the modern day democrat party as a barbaric horde. Fortunately where I live there will be no insurrection type activity since the lib population is minimal at best and the rest that are Red leaning are civilized. so regardless of the outcome, all will be quiet on the western front
Da Noid-
The conspiracy nuts will never admit they are wrong.
How about Bush and Cheney going on an Apology Tour.
For how they screwed up this Great Country!
For how they lied about WMD's!
For how they 'outed' a CIA agent!
For how they stole the 2000 and 2004 elections!
Etc, and so forth.
Salud
Fiesty - What's your point? Who signed the SOFA, Bush or Obama? Your quote of the liberal NY Times is a laugh (I did read the article in the NY Times and didn't see what you stated in that article). Obama, because he was a Senator, would have know that the 31 Dec 2011 deadline set by Iraq and Bush was already agreed to.
Further, why did Obama, if as you claim was responsible for the 31 Dec 2011, deadline, did Obama try and renegotiate the SOFA signed by Bush. Use your head and think for yourself instead of listening to left wing BS.
I, for my part, was more relieved than I can begin to describe when my President forcefully and unambiguously reiterated America's support for Israel- including military support, if (may God forbid!) it should come to that.
It's a continuing source of frustration and sometimes even embarrassment that my fellow Progressives are so often so quick to swallow the propaganda of the oil- tycoon Arab states regarding the suffering of their "Arab brothers", the so-called Palestinians. They exploit those poor stateless (by choice!) people while spending hardly a farthing of their staggering wealth to help them in a meaningful way, because "Palestinians" who are adequately fed and educated can't be used as a rallying point to incite hatred of the Jews.
Leave us not forget why the State of Israel came into being in the first place: It was because, in the civilized world of 1933-1945, the Jewish people were given incontrovertible proof that, without a nation of their own, they would continue to be the designated scapegoats for every European madman who could get a dozen malcontents to listen to him.
The Jews pushed out (what was left of) the British Empire and successfully defended their barren scrap of real estate against Arab armies many times their size, who were attacking them for no better reason than that- wait for it!- thay were Jews!
Our support for Israel is much more than a smart geopolitical tactic; it's a way for all of us Americans to say that we will never again commit or tolerate genocide (although it has to be noted that when the victims were black people in a country very few Americans had ever visited, we sure took our sweet damn time reacting).
I would hardly say the Palestinians are stateless by choice. Their land was forcefully taken away in 1948 because the world felt guilty about the Holocaust. They wanted to give the Jewish people a homeland, so they decided to take Palestine by eminent domain. Check out an old map, Israel did not exist before 1948. The Palestinians don't have a state because it was stolen. It's no wonder they are angry.
I say "by choice" because all of the ethnic Arab and/or Muslim residents were/are given the option of full citizenship in the State of Israel, with one critical difference: They are exempt from military service! All that's required is that they take an oath of loyalty to that State, which is no less than Canada, New Zealand, or the U.S.A. would ask.
Don't take my word for it; it's dead easy to check out the truth of that assertion for yourself. Almost zero % of the Arab population actually choose to take that option because to do so would be a sure-fire way to be ostracized by their neighbors; their sons killed, their daughters violated, and their homes burned. This is likewise easy to research on your own, IF you want to read the truth.
The Arab people living in Gaza and the "West Bank" (actually known as Judea and Samaria) were formerly citizens of Egypt and the Kingdom of Jordan, respectively. Those territories were captured by Israel in the Six-Day War of 1967, a war in which Israel was forced to strike first after months of air raids, mortar attacks and daily threats of annihilation from her Arab neighbors. Now, here's the punch line: Subsequently, Egypt and Jordan refused to take those captured territories back! That is the 'dirty little secret' of those who've made a career out of championing the 'Palestinian' cause; their own countrymen cast them adrift, in order to use them as straw men in their ongoing quest to wipe out the Jewish state.
Lastly, I'd like to point out that there are several Arab states, including a couple of so-called U.S. "allies", who to this day are still in a declared state of war with Israel. If they'd back down, explicitly recognize Israel's right to exist, and hold out the possibility of normal diplomatic relations following a permanent agreement on the status of the occupied territories (generally understood to mean statehood for the Arabs), the Israeli government and populace would fall all over themselves to be accommodating. I've known quite a few Israeli expats in my life, and regardless of their politics or beliefs, this is one matter on which they speak with one voice: "Quit pointing guns at us and you'll be astonished at how reasonable we can be." Worth a try, Badger, isn't it?- because nothing else has worked to date.
Sometimes, there's just no substitute for real peace.
...but it doesn't matter that Mr. Romney agreed with everything that President Obama has been doing.
Mr. Romney said last night, "We don't want another Iraq. We don't want another Afghanistan."
Look at Mr. Romney's foreign policy team. It is infested with the same neocons who gave us Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the administration of "The 43rd President of the United States". Do the names Cofer Black, Dan Senor, Michael Hayden and John Lehman ring a bell?
You don't want another Iraq or Afghanistan? Then why do you surround yourself with the very people who lied and fed us misinformation to get us into wars that were only paid for by piling on the debt?
It makes the current mantra about President Obama of "Obama Lied, 4 Americans Died" absolutely laughable when you consider the mantra that could be made about Romney's foreign policy team...
"They Lied, 4409 Died"
Well, Noid, it's because we Progressives came up with "Nobody Died When Clinton Lied", and ever since that time, while the bodies (both Iraqi and American) were piling up, and the debt was exploding, and our long- time allies were edging away from us, muttering, "I don't know any Sam!"... the Republicans were seething with frustration, and they've been trying to come up with a clever riposte ever since.
One can well understand their baffled fury when one considers that nearly every creative person is a Progressive by their very nature, while the only true talent the Republicans can get is what they pay for. Just don't mention that in front of their wives!
Romney DID NOT agree with everything that Obama was/is doing. He agreed on a few points. At least he is man enough and adult enough to debate as an adult rather than an angry school kid, bent on name calling and lying.
17 of his 24 member team on foreign policy are of the Bush days. Yeah, things will be real different. This explains alot of why Romney bombed in last night's debate. He knows little to nothing about foreign policy issues, and to tell you the truth, I don't think he really gives a rat's ass. Most of his comments included numbers and little factoids about certain countries. Where was the meat, Romney?!
floridamom: your comment is straight out of a FOX Entertainment talking point.
Obama is the MAN!
I'd be careful about referring to the RWNJ's who lurk around here that way!
They no likey when you call em out on the truth! ;o)
Tuesday, October 23, 2012......POLLS R' US......NEWS FLASH!!!!
The RASMUSSEN REPORTS daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 50% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 46%. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided.
Other than brief convention bounces, this is the first time either candidate has led by more than three points in months. See daily tracking history.
Romney attracts support from 89% of Republican voters. The president earns the vote from 82% of Democrats. Among those not affiliated with either major party, the GOP challenger leads by nine.
GALLUP has finally released today's daily tracking results, which show Republican Mitt Romney leading President Barack Obama by a slightly narrowing 5 points among likely voters.
That's down a point from Romney's 6-point likely-voter advantage yesterday, and down 2 points from Sunday's lead of 7 points. That lead was his largest of the campaign.
RUH-ROH!!!
48-47 among registered voters
http://www.gallup.com/poll/150743/Obama-Romney.aspx
------------------------------------------------------------------
NOBODY believes that polls are meaningless...unless they are ahead...
I'll believe it when i see it
4 out of 5 dentists are voting for President Obama.
Salud
Less Filling(!) leads Tastes Great(!) among registered voters, but the reverse is true with LIKELY voters...
All in Red states, not true in swing states.
The biggest threat to our democracy are the people that don't vote.
President Obama's debate win was truly impressive and now makes three out of four debate wins for Obama/Biden. People seem to finally be realizing that Mitt Romney and the GOP have based an enormous amount of their election strategy on lies, hated and deceit. From the 72 million Americans that will be left without any health insurance, whatsoever, by year 2020, under Romney's plan (determined by two independent, non-partisan research studies available to the public), to women and minorities being drastically stripped of their equal rights because of his refusal to support initiatives like the Lily Ledbetter Act which enables women to be paid the same as men provided they do the same work (the first act passed by President Obama) or Hospital Visitation Rights which allows gay people the same visitation rights as straight people when a loved one is in hospital, Americans are seeing Mitt Romney for who he really is. From the West Coast to the East Coast and all of our our great country in between, we Americans are seeing from these debates that a Romney/Ryan plan will leave the middle class being burdened with much higher taxes while the wealthiest Americans pay less in tax because "it will help inspire job hiring" which evidence showed us in the Bush years, does not happen. Out of four debates neither Romney or Ryan could specify their "tax plan" despite being given numerous opportunities. That is not honest. That is not American. That is not integrity and that is certainly not Christian. Mitt Romney also has the highest disapproval rating, of all time, of any Presidential candidate, ever. Higher than Bush. We must understand this. The entire world hates the guy. We must be proud to be Americans. We must have a President who represents all of America and that we can be proud of. We are coming out of one of the most difficult economic times in our history in large part because of two wars we are finally ending. We are bringing our brothers and sisters home. But we cannot go backward. We must go forward. We are Americans. And we will prevail.
Really, Brian? What universe are you living in? Guess you're OK with 40+ months of 8+% unemployment....23 million un- and under- employed....those are real, actual, no-sh*t people out there....dozens of Solyndra and Solyndra-like disasters.....laid up against political talking points about 2020? Are you serious?
Grandpa-Turn off the Fox Entertainment channel and come out in the real world. There is a reason it is called an entertainment channel and not news! The majority of the problems you cite are the direct result of the previous administrations 8 years of crappy policies that our President got stuck with. That, along with the Republicans vow to DO NOTHING except make sure President Obama is a one term president (which they have stuck to-they have done absolutely NOTHING in 4 years), has resulted in most of the remaining problems we currently suffer from.
Actually, Grandpa...........
"Guess you're OK with 40+ months of 8+% unemployment....23 million un- and under- employed....those are real, actual, no-sh*t people out there...."
Yeah, I AM fine with that, considering we were hemorrhaging 750,000 jobs a month when Obama took office, and he's managed to put back 5 million of those jobs. See, you righties love to conveniently forget how we got to where we were in January 08, just like you looove to act like the unemployment rate on Jan 20 2008 is the one that matters. You never want to admit that the recession hadn't bottomed out for months afterwards. It doesn't "fit" your agenda. Obama has brought us from nearly 11% to 7.8% unemployment, and that's despite a totally obstructionist republican congress.
Yes, I'm fine with it all, because I know we'd be in full blown depression if McCain and that twit Palin had won, and I know electing Vulture and Voucher is the WORST thing that could happen to this country.
You're entitled to your opinion. You are not entitled to your own version of "facts". They are immutable.
I feel sorry for all the Republicans who voted for Romney a few months ago based on what he said then.
Today, we learn that Romney lied to Republicans about a Romney foreign policy.
Veterans across the country are not happy that once again Romney never mentioned them. Just like during Romney's convention speech, he never said the word veterans.
However, Romney was happy to talk about giving taxpayer money to social programs in foreign countries that have killed Americans.
It must not have been on the laundry list.
Debbie What is OdumbO record? I rest my case.
Obama is happy to talk about giving taxpayer money to social programs in the United States that kill babies.
marco - when you refer to our President as you did you prove you have the intellect of a 1st grader (my sincere apologies to all of those in the first grade) and that you HAVE no case!
Obama/Biden 2012
We have social programs in the U.S. that are killing babies? Wow. News to me. I haven't seen any data that shows an uptick in children being killed in this country due to social programs. Hmmmmm, gonna have to look that up.
floridamom1,
kills babies? that is murder and if that was occurring he would be behind bars.
last time I check abortions were legal, please do not interject your religious definitions into legal matters, religion means nothing.
bigdogg, floridamom is one of "those" people. The far right wing nutties who advocate murdering pro-choice doctors and bombing medical facilities all the while espousing to be "pro-life". Such hypocrisy amongst that bunch.
You'd think the WH would put a muzzle on this guy...the more he talks, the more people notice he's only a heartbeat away from being POTUS...that should scare the crap out of the WH.....besides, when was the last time he said anything that anyone took seriously? The guy is a joke....
By golly, Grandfather, you're absolutely Right! (Pun very much intended.) Obama should have done like Republican presidents do and chosen a vice president who would stand tall in the respect and admiration of his fellow Americans and the world. Somebody like Dick Cheney... or Spiro T. Agnew... or Dick Nixon...
I would feel infinitely safer if Joe Biden should have to take on the roll of POTUS if something, God forbid, should happen to President Obama. A Lyin Ryan taking over for a (never gonna happen) Romney? God help us all. Lyin Ryan would make Ayn Rand reading mandatory for our school children all the while sending 100's of thousands to war, and starving the rest that don't go.
With pearly white joe bite me 30 yrs in the senate and all this massive foreign experience and OdumbO 2 a.m. phone call from beounce how could the libya attach of one ambassador and three american killed could of happen. Very easy he was hiding under the covers waiting for Mitt to take the lead.
Rubio-Get off this blog and get your ass back to Miami! Oh, they don't want you either....never mind.
And please learn how to write, because in your senior year (9th grade) you apparently slept through most of your classes.
Obama Biden 2012
Romney / Ryan 2012-----2020
Oh, it is fun to fantasize isn't it, Deerhunterbow1?! Not gonna happen.
4 more4 44!
Obama/Biden 2012 FORWARD!
Let's look at the principles that Osama, I mean Obama (Easy slip to make) believes in:
1. We must lower our expectations
2. Shovel ready jobs are great
3. We must spread the wealth around
4. Pit rich against poor
5. Pit black against white
6. Spend it even if you don't have it
7. The federal government knows what is best for you
Mitt Romney is the only candidate that isn't lashing out and attacking his opponent at every turn with ridiculous wild statements that have no truth in them. In fact, at the debate last night, Romney was the only adult in the room. Obama spent most of his time glaring at Romney and trying to attack him with useless and wrong information about the candidate. Romney has class, character, and integrity. At least he is presidential enough to tell the truth and agree with and praise the President in areas that they agree on. But, with every kind remark to the President, the President lashed back with nasty words and gyrating body language. Who was presidential? Mitt Romney. That other guy was an angry baby who doesn't like the fact that he is trailing somewhat in the polls.
floridamom1 - you clearly have not been paying attention as Mitt and Ryan have made ridiculous attacks on our President. The only adult in the debate last night was our very good President.
Obama/Biden 2012
NOBODY-
Is the only adult in the race.
And NOBODY has been telling the whole truth from the get-go!
As a Veteran of the war in Iraq (2003-2007), I fully stand by our President. I don't care about who wins the debates. I only care what they say. Mitt has proven to me that he is a bold faced liar and will say whatever it takes to become POTUS. While Obama's record might not be perfect, at least he has conviction, and doesn't flip flop all over the place like Romney. I like the vision that Obama has for our country and he will be getting my vote for sure!!
They both suck! What ever happen to Ron Paul?
Academic Expectations Lowered: Another Democrat Hit to Black Intellect By Lloyd Marcus
Upon hearing that the Florida School Board of Education has officially lowered academic expectations for black students over whites, as a black Conservative, I felt outraged -- but also vindicated. We black conservatives have been fighting the liberals' (and usually the Democrats') "bigotry of low expectations" for years, only to be accused of betraying our race, called pawns of the Republicans and Uncle Toms.
My goodness, how many more times must the Democrats insult your intelligence before blacks, in monolithic numbers, stop sleeping with their enemy, the Democrats? News flash, black America: the Democratic Party insinuates that you are stupid! In their insidious effort to keep you voting for them, they relentlessly instill a victim mindset, insisting that standards and expectations be lowered.
Meanwhile, black conservatives who are fighting the good fight to rescue their people must put up with idiots calling them sellouts. I have been asked on numerous occasions how I put up with "push-back" from blacks. Simple. I believe that these blacks are brain-dead, racist idiots. Thus, why should I care what they think? Also, I know I am on the Lord's side, because conservatism is best for all people.
It infuriates me when snobby, arrogant white liberals like Janeane Garofalo say that black conservatives/Republicans suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. This superior-minded white liberal, in essence, is saying that blacks who do not drink the Democrats' you-are-a-victim-of-a-racist-white-America Kool-Aid are mentally ill. Ms. Garofalo, please keep making C-movies and stop assuming the role of a spokesperson for me.
The real black traitors to their race reside in the Democratic Party. They're the ones who agree with liberals that requiring a photo ID to vote will "disenfranchise" blacks. Give me a break! And why aren't a majority of black Americans seriously POed over this insulting assumption?
Following the Democrats' logic, blacks are disenfranchised or unfairly blocked from flying, driving a car, entering the Democratic National Convention, etc. Clearly, Democrat opposition to showing a photo ID to vote is all about insuring their ability to use voter-fraud to steal elections. And once again, "black intellect" is put on the chopping-block by Democrats to win an issue.
Frustratingly, many blacks still will not "get-it". They will interpret the Democrats' claim that blacks are too stupid to find their way to acquire a photo ID to vote as the Dems looking out for them. While in reality, Republicans who fight the Dems' absurd claim are the ones respectfully treating blacks as equal Americans. For crying out loud, black America, wake up!
Meanwhile, down in Tampa, the school board's new educational goal is by 2018 to have 92% of Asian students read at or above grade levels. The goal is lower for other groups: 86% whites, 80% Hispanics, and 74% blacks. The message is clear. The liberal school board, which I bet a dollar to a doughnut comprises mostly Democrats, does not think blacks can cut the mustard.
As Gomer use to say on The Andy Griffith Show, "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!" The Obama administration had a hand in Florida lowering expectations and standards. CBS Tampa reported that the Obama administration required the new goals for the state to be granted a waiver exempting it from the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. You have got to love those Democrats, always looking out for us intellectually challenged black folks.
Wasn't Obama the guy who shut down the D.C. school voucher program, in which black kids were scoring through the roof? In typical Democrat behavior of putting politics over people, Obama stopped the extraordinarily successful voucher program to appease the teachers' unions.
Remember the uproar over the Oakland California school board's decision to teach blacks using Ebonics because blacks are, in essence, too stupid to learn correct English?
Thank God Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was educated before liberal Democrats began lowering educational standards for blacks...or his famous "I Have A Dream" speech could be known as his "I Be Havin' A Dream" speech.
All you blacks in Hollywood who continue to roll with the Democrats' blacks-need-lowered-standards program are clearly being played. When you produce ads and serve as spokespersons for Obama and company, you are the ones dumbing down and truly betraying your people. Far too many of you are politically clueless, racist, brain-dead Obama zombies. I am talking about Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Samuel L. Jackson, and Morgan Freeman, to name a few.
So please, stay out of the face of us common sense- and character-driven black conservatives. We are on the front lines, fighting to empower not only blacks, but all Americans.
sonmanvb
Thank you for the voice of reason.
Deerhunterbow1- if you think sonmanvb is the "voice of reason" I'll be you hear other "voices" in your head, daily!
Obama/Biden 2012
sonmanvb-Hey genius, the policies you are discussing are a direct result of our REPUBLICAN Governor Ricky Scotty (aka: Zippy the Pinhead) who I am sure you remember cut $2 billion from our school system last year and then comes back this year and says "Hey, I am increasing the school budget by $1 Billion!" WTF??? Surprise, Surprise, Surprise Gomer!
But hey, when you have to buy your Governorship like Ricky Scotty did (and like Mittens is trying to do), what more would anyone expect?
Kind of interesting that all of your fellow "blacks" are for the President and you are the loan man standing in the field by yourself, insisting you know better than veryone else. I question if you are even black to start with, but maybe you're like Michael Jackson, a wanna-be white?
And deerhunterbow1-aren't you the same guy on Swamp People that has no teeth and can't speak very good english? I thought I recognized that twisted logic somewhere!
Fla, you totally missed the writers point completely. He is taking about "soft bigotry". You know, the stuff dem liberals practice every single day on balck Americans. The "soft bigotry" that is "keeping them down" by doing stuff like lowering the standards instead of teaching people to achive the standards.
You right-wing nutcakes are a piece of work. You get stood up too and you don't know how to handle it. The only thing childish are your reactions. The right have been the pushers of worthless investigations, untold idiotic rhetoric and just bold faced lie after lie. And you get your panties in a bunch when someone calls you out.
Like the bully in a playground who likes to give the pain but when he has to receive they, in the words of Bob Dylan - "break just like a little girl".
You all are cowards. Scared little kids hiding behind your hate, hypocrisy and racism.
Let's look at the principles that Osama, I mean Obama (Easy slip to make) believes in:
1. We must lower our expectations
2. Shovel ready jobs are great
3. We must spread the wealth around
4. Pit rich against poor
5. Pit black against white
6. Spend it even if you don't have it
7. The federal government knows what is best for you
Let's look at the principles that Osama, I mean Obama (Easy slip to make) believes in:
1. We must lower our expectations
2. Shovel ready jobs are great
3. We must spread the wealth around
4. Pit rich against poor
5. Pit black against white
6. Spend it even if you don't have it
7. The federal government knows what is best for you
This was not a debate at all. It was the GOP/RNC "Whimp and Chief" having no core values at all. He has no original Foreign Policy ideas of his own, and his "Flip-Flopping" was taken to a new level. The President was very Presidential last night, and had enough of being lied too. The President was in command of his facts, and he looked very much on task. The GOP/RNC "Bully and Chief" was sweating like a well fed "Bain Trained Swine." The President was not playing games last night, and the GOP/RNC "Intervert and Chief" never comprehended the memo. Romulian Romney is a total crook, and is very out of touch with reality. He is truely the boy in the bubble!
Joe Biden......You're an idiot!!! You were the headshaking laughing ninkompupe at your debate during the topic of Iran with nukes....WHOA!
OBY has, too late, finally learned the things about foriegn policy that he should have four years ago. No wonder Mitt was agreeing with him!
Too bad OBY didbn't do anything about it. Four good men and alot of soldiers would still be alive.
Jim - so why was it such a radical change for Romney, then? His entire "foreign policy" was 180 from what it was two weeks ago. You don't have a clue but lie about our President. Face it - you've backed a lame horse and you know it. Romney has no clue about anything - and it continues to become more evident every time he opens his mouth!
Obama/Biden 2012
The Romney's don't allow lame horses in their stables. They shoot them up full of drugs and sell them, or they kill them.
Progressive-Backward
Your boy Brutha Hussein looked like a little name calling school boy last night. He was the one that made the comment about not being able to stand on your own record, you attack your opponent. He did just that last night. President Romney was the cool head that was under control. Brutha Hussein had to have his diaper changed after the debate. He had the look of desperation all night.
Deerhunterbow1 - your disgusting and juvenile post says everything about you and nothing about our President. And, everything it says about you is bad!
Obama/Biden 2012 for the grownups!
Deerhunterbow1-You ARE that guy on Swamp People aren't you! Do you wear blue jean shorts overalls and a do-rag on your head?
Of course, Republicans will vote for Romney, and people who think whites are more civilized than blacks. And the people who have gotten over their guilt about the Iraq invasion may switch sides, so it's close. But hopefully, the right side will prevail. And by the right side, I mean the left side. And by the left side, I mean Obama/Biden, of course.
Racist much Doug?
Obama Is Right!
Obama has been telling the nation tales since his election. In fact, his entire life has been one long story with him as writer, director, producer, and star -- you could call it "A Barack Obama Production."
It's not that he hasn't told us stories; it's that the ones he has told bear little resemblance to reality.
After all the suffering America has experienced while he was busy getting the "policy right," there is no one left who still believes in Barack's brilliance. After watching him in two debates sans teleprompter, his reputation as humanity's greatest orator has evaporated along with his lead in the polls.
From the 23 million Americans unemployed or underemployed and the 46 million people now on food stamps, to the decline in workforce participation and the explosion of people on disability, many now realize the fallacy of his reputedly deft decision-making skills. His claim in the last debate of having created 5 million jobs rings hollow to an electorate seeing fewer people working today than when Obama took office.
Yet, the story he insists on telling America is that he saved us.
He maintains that his near-trillion-dollar stimulus -- ultimately a reward to political backers and crony capitalist buddies -- avoided a great depression, despite the worst economic recovery since WWII and 42 months of 8%-plus unemployment. Remember "saved or created"?
We are now supposed to believe that 1.3% economic growth and 7.8% unemployment is the "new normal," and it is only ungrateful bastards who refuse to see this as success.
He also saved the auto industry, claiming in the second debate a million jobs saved -- a nice trick, since as of September 2012, there were only 778,400 people working in the manufacture of motor vehicles and parts in the United States.
Why he didn't claim 2 million or 10 million jobs "saved or created," I will never know. He could have used any figure. He is after all, telling a story. Why not make it a good one -- nay, a great one?
He killed bin Laden simply by staring at him and displaying his steely resolve and gutsiness. He destroyed al-Qaeda and freed Libya by leading from behind -- and look how well that turned out.
Former U.S. ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, and former information officer Sean Smith were all unavailable for comment.
To paraphrase Stalin, the death of four Americans is a statistic, whereas any embarrassment to the president is a tragedy.
His smart diplomacy has led to a "reset" with Russia, while he has the Iranian "situation" well in hand, vowing to prevent them from building a nuclear weapon. A promise he will continue to make and keep, right up until the moment a mushroom cloud forms over Tel Aviv or New York City.
Just as long as it doesn't happen before November 6, he can live with it. A leader has to have his priorities straight -- and his priority is winning a second term. Is this what he meant when he whispered to Putin's stooge Medvedev that he would have more "flexibility" after his "last election"?
He has claimed to be post-racial and post-partisan, while surrogates paint anyone who dares to disagree with him on policy as racist. It's funny, but the only people who seem to be interested in the color of Obama's skin are Obama and his scary cadre of deluded minions, sycophantic surrogates, and the conspiring media claque.
His idea of bipartisanism was to offer the opposition the opportunity to do as they were told. And when they refused, he labeled them as obstructionists. His deeply unpopular ObamaCare passed without a single Republican vote, and the last two budgets he proposed didn't get any votes at all. How's that for reaching across the aisle?
He sold himself to America as a constitutional scholar. Yet when the minutiae of governing -- proposing and crafting legislation and lobbying for its passage -- got too difficult, he hit the links and ruled by executive order.
He couldn't get Congress -- even when he had super majorities in both houses -- to agree to bankrupt the nation's economy with his idiotic cap and trade legislation. Instead, he has had the EPA create regulations to implement the most disastrous parts anyway.
Disingenuously, he portrays himself as the "Energy President," while his policy has always been none of the above, unless it is wind or solar, which he calls the energy of the future when it is truly the energy of the past. With Barack, it is always yesterday's answers to today's problems. That's why he likes high-speed rail so much.
He is singlehandedly destroying the coal industry in America, while restricting drilling for oil in the Gulf and off our shores as well as on all public lands. The EPA is now in the process of formulating rules to regulate "fracking" nationwide. It's a safe bet that any new regulations won't increase production.
Yet, he has no problem taking credit for the boom in fossil-fuel development happening on private land -- something he couldn't stop. Maybe next term he will be more successful.
Every other month, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar withdraws more land from potential energy development. Most recently, he put nearly half of the 23-million-acre National Petroleum Reserve on Alaska's North Slope off-limits, restricting development to 12 million acres with potentially 549 million barrels of oil.
In 2002, the Reserve, designated almost a century ago by Congress for energy development, was thought to hold 9 billion barrels of oil. Mysteriously, in 2010, this estimate was reduced to 900 million barrels. People notice when you pull billions of barrels of oil from potential production. Change the story by redefining the estimate, and the news item goes from page 1 to page 19 when the administration puts America's resources off-limits.
...And that is the essence of the Barack Obama presidency. It is a story of "redefinition," failure redefined as success, weakness portrayed as strength and a lack of ideas as transformational leadership. He has redefined being responsible by using the qualifier "to some degree." This way, he has the luxury of taking credit for all the good while blaming others for all the bad.
During the three and a half years of his presidency, for Barack, the buck has always stopped at Bush. Now, with Benghazi, that has evolved to the buck stops anywhere but Barack.
Hillary has now accepted full responsibility for the Libyan debacle, but which is a more damning reality: Obama is incompetent, or he's woefully uninformed? It seems like a wash to me.
On the anniversary of 9/11, our ambassador, lured to Benghazi for assassination, went missing while the consulate was under attack...and Barack went to bed. The next morning, with our ambassador dead, Barack flew to Vegas -- that's not even leading from behind.
Who would have ever thought that "leading from behind" would be setting the bar too high?
An Obama Department of State Regional Security Officer Eric Nordstrom said, "the Taliban is on the inside of the building." Wow, the Taliban inside the State Department -- who would have thought it? What is that, leading from inside?
But don't worry, an investigation is underway -- Hillary said so -- it should be completed sometime after November 6, just like all things Barack.
The president is right; it is the story...and for almost four years, the story Barack Obama told America has been "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Who posts this BS??? Even better question: WHO BELIEVES IT??? Obama/Biden2012
Oh bull patooties - enough of this us and them crap - Obama lost me back when he DID go on what they are now calling the "apology tour." I read the speeches. I remember. It reminded me of Jane Fonda who, by the way, finally apologized for what she did in Hanoi.
Play Like a Girl-Of course you do know that Politifact called that story .............what was it, oh yea, PANTS ON FIRE (aka: another blatant lie), but of course DumbFux Entertainment channel didn't mention that in your daily script, did they?
I have a feeling you were lost long before Obama became President, it's just a convenient excuse for your stupidity now.
Now, run along little girl, the adults want to talk.
Politifact? Really? Politifact? No wonder your so in the dark about facts.
I don't get Romney's "no apologies" position. Take any course on leadership and you'll be taught that one of the most important ways to build trust is to acknowledge your mistakes and learn from them. Take any course on leadership and you'll be taught that one of the best ways to lose trust is to deny when you've made a mistake. Take any course on leadership and you'll be taught that another one of the most important ways to build trust is to show you're willing to see yourself as others might see you. Take any course on leadership and you'll be taught that when you can't acknowledge you've been mistaken, you lose any power to make improvements to avoid the same problems in the future (why fix something that's not broken, right?). Take any course on leadership and you'll be taught that you're more likely to get others to acknowledge their mistakes (often more than one party is wrong) and cooperation on solutions if you act this way.
Any president/any nation is going to make some mistakes because the world's a complicated place and decisions often have to made without all the facts and certainly always without a crystal ball. You're pretty immature or arrogant if you don't understand this or can't deal with this. Does Romney/those who agree with them really think/want to claim the US has never taken the wrong position? Does he/those who agree with him honestly think we can gain the trust/cooperation of either our friends or (current) enemies or keep ourselves relevant in a rapidly changing world with an arrogant attitude that the US has never taken a wrong position?
Frankly I think Obama built a lot more trust in the world by acknowledging the US might not always have had the best attitude towards the viewpoints of other nations. I (having seen plenty of examples of good/trustworthy and bad/untrustworthy leadership in my life) hardly saw this as an apology but rather good leadership.
By the way, I acknowledge this applies to all sides . Wish we would hear more acknowledgement of mistakes from our leaders so they can also share their solutions with us (and get our cooperation?). Unfortunately too many Americans prefer to think of their leaders as flawless so we're stuck with too many denials and that's why we are so powerless to fix our problems.
Also, I acknowledge that our best leaders do need to make the right decisions most of the time. But there's little change they can do this if they don't make some mistakes. As Mark Twain said: Where does good judgement come from? Experience. Where does experience come from? Bad judgement.
Play Like a Girl - you read nothing or you would KNOW he never went on a apology tour. That's just another Republican lie.
Obama/Biden 2012
Yeah! He and Hillary just spent $70,000 apologizing to the people in Pakistan for a video that didn't matter! No apology tour! At least if they apologize in a video they can use it over and over!!
