Biden takes aim at Romney's 'remaking' in Ohio

 

CANTON, OH -- Vice President Joe Biden has begun to take a different tack toward GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, taking aim at Romney's lurch toward the center on some issues and refusal to answer specifics on others.

Biden declared that the GOP ticket wasn't "hiding the ball" when it came to their agenda while campaigning earlier this year, but has begun to deliver a new message since the first presidential debate.

Seeking to hammer that message home in all-important swing state Ohio, Biden told a boisterous crowd Monday that "we are seeing the remaking of Mitt Romney right before our eyes."

Speaking to about 800 supporters at a Canton gymnasium, Biden cited women's rights and Afghanistan as policy areas where Romney's agenda is "etch-a-sketchy."

"This guy is out of touch on most of the fundamental issues," said Biden. "America's moved beyond where these guys are."

Biden's trip to Ohio marks his ninth visit there this year and the 23rd trip to the state of his vice presidency. He will hold five campaign rallies over three days, including a joint appearance with President Barack Obama on Tuesday.

While Biden's events are attended almost entirely by supportive and high-interest voters, they've become a barometer of how the campaign's new campaign attacks are resonating with the Democratic base. In Florida last week, voters chanted "malarkey!" in recognition of the vice president's uncorking of a favorite Irish colloquialism at the Danville debate. In Ohio Monday, supporters shouted "Romnesia!" even before Biden mentioned the new Democratic label for Romney's alleged malleability.

I like Joe Biden. He has been a solid Vice President, sharing the burdens of office with President Obama, and pushing to use drones instead of troops in Afghanistan.

I can't imagine Paul Ryan in that office. He seems like a narrow minded, self-involved and hyper-angry little squirt to me.

You often wonder why Obama doesn't send Biden to state funerals or such. Now we know after his debate appearance because Crazy Joe smiles, giggles, yells, and makes rude gestures at very inappropriate times. That's enough to get any country more concerned and angered at the US.

So now Obama is so desperate in Ohio, apparently the Bubba and The Boss comedy tour didn't go so well, he now has to throw Biden back into action.

Romnesia has his own lengthy list. Here's one, however, it shows ignorance as well as inarticulate choice of words. Mitt: "When you have a fire in an aircraft, there's no place to go, exactly. And you can't find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft because the windows don't open. I don't know why they don't do that. It's a real problem."

, have made direct contributions to the Romney campaign. This,
despite the fact that they represent 40 percent of the full board of directors
of a company whose independent, disinterested and studiously non-partisan status
in any election taking place on their voting machines would seemingly be a 'no
brainer'.

To Mr. Bohl's credit, after giving a total
of $4,000 to "Romney For President", it must have occurred to him that it might
not look so good for a board member of a company whose voting machines are to be
a part of the presidential election to be playing favorites—so he gave $250 to
Barack Obama to sort
of balance the scales.

Mr. Tuch? Not so much.

Interestingly, Mr. Bohl lists himself as an
investor at H.I.G. Capital for his Romney contributions but his far smaller
donation to Obama was done as "Jeff Bohl, self-employed innkeeper".

And finally, we learn that H.I.G. is the
11th largest of all the contributors
to the Romney effort.

is, indeed, more.

Can you guess who is reported to have a
financial relationship with H.I.G. Capital

Numerous media sources,
including Truthout,
are reporting that Solamere Capital—the investment firm run by Mitt Romney's
son, Tagg, and the home of money put into the closely held firm by Tagg's uncle
Scott, mother Anne and, of course, the dad who might just be the next President
of the United States—depending upon how the vote count turns out, in our little
tale, in the State of Ohio—have shared business interests with H.I.G. either
directly or via Solamere Advisors which is owned, in part, by Solamere Capital,
including a reported investment in H.I.G. by either Solamere Capital or Solamere
Advisors.

Lee Fang, in
his piece for The Nation
exploring the government related activities of
various companies in which Solamere has an interest writes-

"Meanwhile, HIG Capital—one of the largest
Solamere partners, with nearly $10 billion of equity capital—owns a number of
other firms that are closely monitoring the federal government. "

While the Cincinnati scenario is —at this
point—fiction, the rest of this story is all too true, including the part where
the voting machines to be used in Hamilton County will be those provided by Hart
Intercivic.

And while I am not suggesting conspiracies
or that anyone would get involved in any foul play here, most
particularly the GOP candidate for President, how is it possible that so many
people could exercise so much bad judgment?

The sanctity of voting in America is
supposed to be one of our most important virtues. So concerned are we with a
'clean' process that James O'Keefe has made a career entrapping, video taping
and destroying those sympathetic to Democratic Party candidates and causes who
cross the line when it comes to the voting process. And that's just fine. If Mr.
O'Keefe can legitimately expose someone engaging in voter fraud, he most
certainly should call them out.

So, why would these individuals who serve
on the board of directors of Hart Intercivic go out of their way to make a
contribution to any political candidate given the critical importance
of their company remaining above reproach when it comes to the political
process? And why would those who run the company that owns Hart Intercivic be
giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to a political candidate? And why would
a political candidate and his family have a financial relationship with a
company that owns a chunk of the voting machine company that will be counting
the actual votes given to that political candidate or his opponent?

Keith Olbermann was suspended from his job
at MSNBC for donating a couple hundred bucks to a local candidate that was a
friend of his. Why? Because his employer required that journalists at the
network stay free of having given such contributions to any candidate
for all the obvious reasons.

Is it really too much to ask that those who
control the voting machines that record and count the votes of our elections be
held to at least the same standard?

Hopefully, everything will go swimmingly in
Cincinnati on Election Day. And, if it doesn't, it will no doubt be the result
of honest error.

Yet, because of this uncomfortable chain of
ownership, we now find ourselves with one more headache among the many headaches
that accompany the important work of choosing an American president and
believing that the process was a fair one—particularly when such an election
comes down to a very few votes as may well be the case on Election Day,
2012.

Really, guys. You couldn't find anything
else to invest in? You couldn't donate all those hundreds of thousands to
charity rather than put it into political contributions so that your fellow
countrymen would have no reason to ever doubt or question the results of so
important an election—or any election for that matter, even if it's the choice
of a county dogcatcher?

I truly wonder sometimes just what these
allegedly smart people have inside their heads—or, more importantly, their
hearts. And Fellow and Sister Americans, WE KNOW Rommel and EddiMunster are gonna rig the voting machines as they intend to rig Medicare and Social Security AND NEW WARS...And Some NAIVE Voters STILL want to vote for THESE CROOKS????

Biden's biggest contributions to this campaign so far, have been "gaffing" his way through one stump-stop after another, and laughing at the VP debate to the extent that it became a caricature of his persona.

Romney has been specific on every statement he's made, and he's also debunked the Obama camp's attempts to define him on every point.

Biden needs to slow down and take a good look at his boss, who is not only a LIAR; but, he's also in so far over his head as POTUS that we need to remove him on election day, and put someone in there who knows what he's doing.

I live in the Buckeye state and it will be interesting to watch as election day comes. I'm in Columbus and must say I'm a little surprised by all the support for Romney....the city tends to be more liberal but there is an outpouring of support for him here. Based simply on yard signs, Romney should do well in OH.

The Department of Defense paid former Halliburton subsidiary KBR more than $80 million in bonuses for contracts to install electrical wiring in Iraq. The award payments were for the very work that resulted in the electrocution deaths of US soldiers, according to Department of Defense documents revealed today in a Senate hearing. More than $30 million in bonuses were paid months after the death of Sgt. Ryan Maseth, a highly decorated, 24-year-old Green Beret, who was electrocuted while taking a shower at a US base in January 2008. His death, the result of improper grounding for a water pump, has been classified by the US Army Criminal Investigations Division (CID) as a "negligent homicide." Maseth's death had originally been labeled an accident. Bonuses were paid to KBR in 2007 and 2008, after CID investigators had officially expressed concerns about the quality of KBR's electrical work. For its part, KBR denies any culpability for the electrocution deaths.

Accounts from Libyan and U.S. officials, and from locals who watched what began as a protest on Tuesday against a crudely made American film that insults the Prophet Mohammad spiral into violence and a military-style assault on U.S. troops, point to a series of unfortunate choices amid the confusion and fear.

The actions of Libyan former rebel fighters assigned to help guard the lightly fortified compound may also face scrutiny. Libyan officers suggested that sympathy for the popular anger at the slight to their religion, as well as simple fear under heavy fire, meant the guards may have done little to defend the walls.

Much remains unknown, notably the extent to which armed militants may have prepared in advance for an attack as opposed to merely profiting from the opportunity of an angry crowd spinning out of control in a country where guns are everywhere.

However, this much is clear: a crowd gathered at dusk, about 7 p.m. (1700 GMT), chanting slogans against the film and angry at Washington's failure to act against its promoters. At some point, shooting began, with some in the crowd thinking they were under fire from the consulate. Around 10 p.m., rioters surged into the compound, bullets and grenades flew, and fires started.

Among the assailants, Libyans identified units of a heavily armed local Islamist group, Ansar al-Sharia, which sympathizes with al Qaeda and derides Libya's U.S.-backed bid for democracy.

Eventually, some three dozen Americans drove off to a safe house, knowing one diplomat was dead and Ambassador Christopher Stevens missing. Around dawn, at 7 a.m., the beleaguered American survivors, with their battered military rescue party, were finally escorted back to Benghazi airport by a convoy of Libyan militia fighters in dozens of vehicles, to be flown to Tripoli and safety.

As you can see from this report, there is another story that has been told about the events on Sept. 11th. I viewed Google Map of area around consulate and it is located in a sparsely populated area. The approach of an armed attack force in this area would have been seen well before it got to the consulate's perimeter. A counterattack by US consulate security personnel could have been launched while the attackers were still on open ground. It wasn't. Why? Perhaps, because security personnel thought it was a protest. It is possible and until more is known, it is impossible to know what transpired that day.

It is simply amazing that a sitting President and VP have to resort to name calling and character assassination in order to try and win an election. It is really sad watching them become the laughing stock of the nation. Ask any one that is thinking of voting for Mr. Obama to spell out Obama's plans for cutting spending, reducing the debt, balancing the budget, leveling the playing field in trade, comprehensive energy plan, etc.. and they will not give you an answer. Not because they are stupid or don't pay attention, but because Mr. Obama himself can not and has not answered such questions. It is as if Mr. Obama believes that he can win the election based on trite phrases/slogans. That may work with some voters, but I think the majority of voters are expecting a lot more from Mr. Obama. Too bad he is not up to the task.

But what else would you expect from a guy who goes to a fund raiser on the night of another 9/11 terrorist attack that left 4 Americans dead and resulted in the theft of sensitive security information? Hell, the man hasn't even felt that it is necessary to speak to the nation about the attack. He was too afraid it would damage his campaign, so he basically tried to down play it in any way he could. Including lying to the American people by adopting a cover story originally concocted by the terrorist that pulled off the attack.. That's not leadership, it's disgusting self interest.

Remember when Obama told us that he would simply sit down, face to face, with the Iranian leadership and this would all be resolved. He didn't even attempt it. Instead, he sent Hillary on a year and a half wild goose chase of trying to negotiate with Iran. While the Iranians used the "negotiations "as a stall tactic. During that time frame they increased the number of centrifuges making enriched uranium, beefed up their conventional arsenal and worked on missile delivery systems. At the end of that year and a half we didn't even have the outline of an agreement. The "talks" utterly failed. And no progress towards an agreement has been made since then. Zero, Instead Iran is now engaging in cyber warfare attacks on our financial institutions, aiding Assad in Syria, assisting terrorist throughout the region, etc...

    No, California doesn't deserve it, but we can't seem to vote out of office, those dysfunctional Democrats who continually spend more than the state brings in. California is a state of takers, and to fund the Dem Party, they continue to use entitlements for the vote.

    If you want regulations against business, come to CA - we have a bunch of them.

    The state has issues with passing a budget, so a law is passed whereby if the budget isn't passed on time, then the lawmakers don't get paid. So it wasn't, they didn't get paid, then sued for back wages and won in the 9th Circus Court.

    The school system needs money, but the management of the system has more administratorcs than you can shake a stick at. And the teachers, some of the highest paid in the nation for one of the lowest testing rates, continue to ask for more money at the expense of taxpayers. And they don't teach kids, they teach kids to pass the STAR tests.

    Unfortunately we can't overcome the Democrat rule, for now, subject to change within four years.

    Now we have a referendum where the upper 1% will pay taxes for those in the state who don't.

    Son of State Senator Neal Kedzie Attacked

    Posted Monday, October 22, 2012 --- 4:40 p.m.

    State Senator Neal Kedzie says his son was attacked while trying to stop someone from stealing his Romney/Ryan yard sign.

    Whitewater Police tell NBC15 News this is an active investigation.

    Here is the statement released by Senator Neal Kedzie:

    Early on Friday morning, October 19th, my son Sean was awakened by noises outside his residence in Whitewater. As he went to see what the commotion was about, he noticed an individual removing a Romney/Ryan yard sign from his property. He yelled to the person that they were taking something not theirs and to return it immediately.

    The individual returned the sign, however, a second person confronted and attacked Sean without warning.

    Sean was wrestled to the ground by both persons, held down by a constricting chokehold, and struck repeatedly about the face and head.

    He nearly passed out from the chokehold and suffered contusions to his face and eyes.

    Fortunately, an alert neighbor heard the commotion, scared the individuals away, and called the police.

    My wife and I were awakened by a telephone call from Sean’s roommate that Sean had been taken by ambulance to Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital.

    Sean was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital the same day.

    As this was a private family matter, we chose not to remark publicly about it and allow law enforcement to do their job. But we understand these types of incidents will eventually become public and questions will arise, particularly in my position as a state legislator.

    Sean is still recovering from the injuries he sustained as a result of this beating, and we are confident he will make a full recovery.

    But obviously, as parents, we are shaken by this event and very troubled it was apparently initiated and motivated for political reasons.

    I do know that Biden lied about finishing in the top 5 or 10 percent of his class in college, when in fact he was almost at the bottom of his class. I do know that Biden had to drop out of a primary race for President because he plagiarized a speech by someone else. I do know that Biden had 5 draft deferments during Vietnam, and when they ran out he got classified 4F.

        The one thing to remember, in both war and politics, ultimate victory still requires "boots on the ground." While the state legislatures have been trying to do everything they can to eliminate the voter turnout advantage the Democratic party has in many states, the courts have been turning their obvious tactics aside. At the same time, the Dems have continued their effort to get out the vote.

        You have to wonder about the voters who have not made up their minds yet.

        "Independents" are former Republicans who have become disgusted with what the GOP has become and moderates have left or were forced out of the party. Many will vote for President Obama simply because the alternative guarantees the demise of the country.

        "Undecided" voters are those who don't care enough to become fully informed. If they vote at all, they'll make up their mind in the voting booth, maybe flip a coin.

        In either case, its a scary indictment of the election process.

        Actually, I think you could replace "undecided" with "republican".

        No one with the sense of a turnip would vote Republican unless they were ultra wealthy.         That there are any undecided voters at this point in the election is very curious to me. Even if you aren't as deeply invested as the majority of the people here obviously are, to be reading/posting opinions on a daily basis, this campaign has been in process for two whole years. You can hardly miss it. What is it that they are waiting for in order to cast their vote for any candidate? I am honestly curious about this in a completely bipartisan way. It's something that has always left me wondering.

        Is it because they don't support any candidate? Are they mostly Independents, or something else other than Republican or Democrat? Have they become so disenchanted with the political process as a whole (and honestly, who can blame them), that they're considering not voting at all? Are votes being based entirely on the outcome of the debates? Or is it something else entirely?

        If you're still undecided, or you know someone who's undecided, please share the reasons why. I'd really like to know.

        As on of those undecided voters...that by the way won't be flipping a coin in the voting booth and certainly do care enough to be as informed as possible. Not an easy task these days consider how much false information is out there. Most things I hear - I do the research and discover there is a complete other side.

        As I sort through the chaos and ANGER of this election I continue to see a few themes starting with Romney, in my opinion, he is basing his campaign on telling us that everything Obama does is wrong BUT I am still waiting to hear what he is going to do to fix it..and trust me being undecided and more open minded, I am listening. I also feel that Romney keeps changing his stance ( abortion, healthcare etc.) to the point that I feel I can't trust he wont do it again once in office. At this point, I am not sure I know exactly what he stands for. My biggest issues with him are how he says he will handle student loans and repealing Obamacare...which now I am not certain thats what he will do. The comment about asking your parents to borrow the money for college is ridiculous and shows how out of touch he is with the true middle class. We saved for our kids for college but trust me you would be shocked how many have not and those loans are the only way to college for many middle class kids. Not to mention lowering the cost of college a few thousand here and there will make little to no difference to most.

        As for Obama, I don't think he has done everything promised but I am smart enough to realize this was pretty much impossible with out the parties cooperating. Am I better off today than I was 4 years ago...YES..could things be better ...YES.

        My last thought is that if you read back through this thread of comments...its incredibly sad that politics have pretty much become a thing of ANGER. Its hard for someone listening and trying to make and educated decision to see through all the anger and determine who really is the best the candidate.

        In recent history there have always been Democrats. There have always been Republicans. There have always been moderates and extremists on both sides.

        But never before, since the Civil War, has the US been so divided, so angry, so polarized. Crises and hardship in the country have never been so bad since the Great Depression. Finger-pointing and blame are almost rabid in their intensity. Republicans blame the Democrats and Obama, Democrats blame the Republicans and Bush. There is actual hatred festering between the different sides of almost every single demographic division. It's truly frightening.

        Probably the most important characteristic a good president must have is the ability to create consensus and harmony among the different factions in government, and in the country as a whole. For whatever reason, Obama has been a total failure at bringing people together.

        I saw Romney speak in person at a rally at the Portland Yacht Center during the Republican primaries. At that time, he wanted to cut student loans for the middle class ( tuition is too high because people are able to borrow money to pay it, he said.) He suggested kids borrow money from their parents to start their own businesses, instead of getting an educated. (Dog walking? Coffee cart? Housecleanning?)

        I took advantage of the opportunity to see Romney in person, back when he was running as a right winger, and I gotta say, I don't recognize the guy on TV now.

        The old Romney said he would cut taxes for the wealthiest, eliminate the mortgage deduction, and generally unfetter the free market to go back to business as usual. The new Romney claims he would keep the parts of Obamcares people like, as if he never said he'd repeal the whole thing.

          It seems like more and more people are now realizing that Mitt Romney has based his entire campaign on false information. It does not take that much research to find out that his entire "political" career has been based on misleading and flip-flopping positions. American people cannot have a President that is known to be a liar. Particularly when it comes to such important issues as women's rights (Lily Ledbetter Act, which he opposes) or equal rights (he opposes gay people having the same hospital visitation rights as straight people, for example) or even on an economic level; he would increase, by trillions of dollars the military, which they have not asked for, at a time when all Americans agree we should be moving OUT of Iraq and OUT of Afghanistan. So many lives have been lost. We are only just now finally beginning to come out of one of the most difficult times in our countries history and he wants to increase spending for war? And to top it off, Mitt Romney has the highest, domestic and international disapproval ratings of any president-hopeful in the history of the world. Higher than Bush. That is not American. That is not right. We should be proud to be American. We should be proud of our country. We are worth more than that.

          Let me spell out a couple things for you.

          Carried interest pay for hedge fund and private equity executives is earned income-- duh! How can Republicans argue it isn't?!?!?

          Just as there are diminishing returns for government intervention in spending to get the economy going, there is diminishing returns for tax cuts (particularly for the wealthy). Lowering rates further will balloon the deficit worse and not stimulate the economy. You do know that 2009's deficit was the worst of the last 4 years don't you? That was Bush's final years budget. The annual budget deficit has been slowly going down each year since Obama has been in office. That's a fact. More needs to be done, but another tax cut is about the stupidest way to balance a budget.

          Tell me, how is my upper middle class income going to work under Romney with his say, $25,000 limit on deductions? My mortgage interest deduction is about $20,000 per year, my employer contribution to healthcare is about $5,000. So I don't get to deduct my personal exemption amount, my charitable donations, my childcare expenses, etc. Thanks Gov. Romney, you enjoy your lower interest income, capital gains income reduction, while you screw me and my hard working middle income family! That's what I mean by Republican's are economic terrorists.

          If you vote for Romney, you are either extremely wealthy, or an extreme idiot!

          Ohio remembers its war heroes not those defeated.

          Who is the more qualified president? Who do you trust on Foreign Policies?

          Whose resume looks better?

          From the list of ten areas that will affect the next president 6 out of 10 or 60% relate to crisis in the Middle East.

          60% of the problems President Obama's has experience in dealing with. Those problems are numbers 1-3 and 5-7.

          Romney does not have any experience with any of these types of situations. Romney does however, like his father have experience in running away from military conflict which can be proven by merely looking at Romney's actions during the Vietnam War in which he fled to France and hid behind religion in order to not have to fight or serve his country. Whats worse than not serving when called upon to fight for your country is leaving your country to avoid the service altogher. Such an act should be branded treasonous.

          Romney has added to the stack of the Romney name being consistent with avoiding a combat situation. Romney's father also made excuses such as being brainwashed by the U.S. government during World War II and avoided serving in any aspect in that war.

          President Obama on the other hand has a family tradition of being tough fighters and patriot Americans who serve their country.

          John Punch - related to Obama. First documented African slave in the American British Colonies. Informatiom can be backed up by Ancestry.com.

          Robert Wolfley Great Grandfather x3 to Obama - served as a private in Company A 145th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. This makes Obama a Yankee and why he is hated by those of the CSA and like minded Americans.

          Ralph Dunham - Great Uncle to Obama, Served during WWII as an assignment and personnel officer. Landed at Normandy on D+4 and later made his way inland through France, Italy and Germany.

          Charles Thomas Payne - Great Uncle to Obama, Served during WWII with the 89th Infantry Division. Took part in liberating the Ohrdruf Forced Labor Camps. Major he is Major Payne, maybe he isn't.

          Stanley Armour Dunham - Grandfather to Obama, Served in the Army during WWII as a sergeant. Stanley enlisted shortly after the attacks on Pearl Habor.

          On a side note Stanley is also related to six American presidents thos being, James Madison, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and the Bush family. Those of the Tea Party wanting a return to an all white America have now been shown that the Founding Fathers were not as white as you want them to be.

          The Tea Party and their supporters are not really who they say they are. They are merely actos taking various personalities that they see on t.v. and acting in such a manner to make those around them think that their party has the same tradition of serving when in fact they do not have such traditions.

          President Obama is the right man to keep as the President of the United States because his family tradition of strong American values of doing what is right when called upon.

          Romney however only has a tradition of running away and avoiding such values when called upon.

          With 60% of the problems facing the next president would you rather have a president like Obama who has the nuts to do what he says he will do or someone like Romney who has aa family tradition of running away when a fight occurs?

          The only type of people who hate Obama are those who are cowards theirself...have lost against Obama's family line and only make believe that their fallen empires can be reborn.

          Once defeated...always defeated and never rising again.

          Obama or Romney?

          If Romney is elected then any and all attacks on America and the increase of death in the Middle East will be blamed on the Romney.....but more importantly those who support him and vote for him.

          There was warning about Fort Hood, and we will never know what desk it landed on.

          There was a series of oversights and missteps the government made before the terror attack at Fort Hood. Later it came out that FBI anti-terrorism task forces saw emails between Nidal Hasan and al-Awlaki beginning in December 2008. Does anyone see a pattern here?

          Oh and FYI the victims deserves the Purple Heart, shame on the President.

No one is trying to make the deaths of these soldiers at Ft Hood, TX a political football, the parents and next of kin has been asking for the same rights as soldiers killed/wounded in combat by enemy combatants. Obama won't even call this a TERRORIST ATTACK. Obama wants this to be a "work place" incident.

          These soldiers were killed by a Muslim Terrorist and deserve the same benefits and medals that those on the battlefields of Afghanistan get.

              Mark Cuban came out in support of President Obama this weekend. I was surprised as I thought the businessman in Cuban would be smitten with Romney. To the contrary, Cuban was very matter of fact in pointing out that Romney falls short in being able to support his economic plans with any specifics or details. The businessman in Cuban saw that as not very businesslike of Romney and certainly falling short of providing any confidence in Romney's plan to deal with our current economic situation. Cuban pointed to President Obama as being more of a sure thing, a known entity, with regards to his economic plans, which are working despite the lousy hand the President has been dealt.

              As a businessman, Cuban thought Romney was the much riskier choice for a fragile economy, almost scary in his lack of specifics or details regarding his economic plans. What kind of businessman shows up to sell you on his ability to lead this country and the free world without any specifics or details in his sales pitch, and with a history of being for and against everything he has stood for?

              Mark Cuban is a good businessman. Mitt Romney is not.

              So I was looking through RCP and saw an Ohio poll from Suffolk University that showed the race as a statistical tie. Since Suffolk is generally reputable, I was prepared to say that the race there might be heating up.

              Most presidents (not all) have had sense enough to be consistent in the messages they send to the international community. Flip-flops, like Obama's, only create an atmosphere of uncertainty and distrust. Obama's blundering could well be an important factor in the Middle East violence we see today.

              We desperately need Mitt Romney, who has the intelligence and maturity to forge a foreign policy consistent with well-thought-out national policy and objectives. Obama's foreign policy is thrown together on the spur of the moment, and based on nothing more than random political pressures.

              Have you ever heard the saying “Strange Bedfellows?” What it basically means is, that two opposing groups have joined forces, and become allies. And, this is exactly what has happened in the GOP. You have unsuspecting Christians joining forces with Ayn Rand Worshipers (Atheist), and this is what would be considered as “Strange Bedfellows!” I do not mean to offend Atheist in anyway, because I believe the vast majority are not Rand Worshipers, which I feel are giving Atheists a bad name.               Wake Up Christians, before it really is too late!

              Because, if Romney does somehow get elected, you Christians will soon find out that you are nothing but the despicable Parasites that the creators so despise!

              Obama/Biden in Nov, because all of your and my offspring deserve better than what the Ayn Rand Worshiping GOP has to offer!

              A noble effort to help the feable minded, but it will be all for naught.

              The Tea Party lemmings will blindly follow a rich-capitalist thinking that a morsel of food or jobs will trickle-down to them.

              Even in the end, when their Savior Romney has failed them, they still won't realize that it was their own selfish stupidity that doomed them all.

              Thomas Grande - My husband and I are Catholics, does that make us the feable minded. I respect a woman's choice to get an abortion, however I would never and have never gotten one and I also respect the Catholic Church and others for their stand on Abortion.

              I thought it was President Obama that was suppose to be our savior and fixed the entire World. The President lies as much or more that any other. but that is my opinion as I respect your opinion. Everything that I have read makes this a most important vote and a very close race. I would guess you don't agree?

              There are some on your side of the aisle that are, as on mine as well.

              It was the conservative media that created the faux impression Democrats think the President is a savior.

              I believe you and your husband already have the following:

              We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights...

              I believe it is already stated in our constitution that the government can't tell a woman what to do with her body. And no political party can. Democrat policies are about inclusion, not exclusion.

              My posts generally point out blogger's hypocracy.

              If a Tea Party blogger mis-represents President Obama, then I will point it out.

              I am 51, married and we are both working very hard towards retirement.

              We and many other Americans cannot survive any more years trickle-down economics.

                RomneyWillSinkUs First of all, have you even bothered to read any of Ayn Rand's books? Her philosophy has nothing to do with religion, but with the economic and political systems that exert control over the entire population. The fact that she was personally an atheist has nothing to do with the central theme of her writings. I see great parallels to her books and the current administration that wants to "redistribute the wealth of America" to all the people that are currently sucking at the governments teat. SS and Medicare recipients are not included in these numbers, as these programs were initially designed as insurance programs whose payout was based on the contributions made during the working time. Medicare continues to charge premiums from those receiving benefits.

                As to Biden, the village idiot continues to prove his status every time that he speaks. And his braying performance during the debate with Ryan leads me to believe that he is the original "Irish donkey."

                  Ayn Rand would have been a darling in Nazi Germany. She would have personally sterilized some of the genetically defective with a smile on her face. She would have donned a brown shirt and accompanied the thugs to the beer halls to bang open the heads of the Marxists with a liter stein.

                  I am pretty certain that President Obama will win re election. That said, maybe what this country needs is a kick in the pants wake up call. Put the republicans in control of the white house and both houses of congress. After 4 yrs of that, there will never be a republican majority in either house ever again. There will be two classes in this country the rich and the rest of us. The environment will know what a legitimate rape, a forcible rape is like as deregulation turn pristine lands into sewers and eyesores. And because oil and coal will be at the top of the heap, federal investment in alternative energy will dry up, save for those special interests that thrive due to republican greed. You reap what you sow. And the amount of social reforms will be staggering. Say good bye to the good and essential work done by planned parenthood, say farewell to the educational aspects of public broadcasting. Say so long to one of the few successful federal programs for education, Head Start. The religious zealots will be having a field day if the republicans take over. Fear mongering? Maybe a bit, but im not far from the mark.

                  Sadly, Obama might still win this election. We should at least consider the consequences of that so we will not be surprised.

                  Last month the Obama administration started its third round of printing fiat money (currency that a government has declared to be legal tender, despite the fact that it has no intrinsic value and is not backed by reserves). $600 billion is the current estimate. That's almost $2,000 apiece for every man, woman, and child in the country!

                  In the past, when governments have printed fiat money to cover their own expenses, there has been a short-term economic bump, which is what we are seeing now, but then inflation is always the ultimate result. To us, personally, that means that, if Obama is reelected, the buying power of our savings and income will be severely reduced within about 18 months. Think about what you will need to do in order to survive inflation it will happen.

                  You're one of those gold standard fanatics aren't you? God bless you, you are a Ron Paul acolyte. I'm sorry to inform you that you will not be able "to crucify this country on a cross of gold." We fought that war a long time ago. It started with William Jennings Bryan, and it ended with Nixon taking us off of the gold standard. And our inflation rate is very low and our currency is trading very well in international markets. For most of us here in the 21st Century, that's what we worry about when it comes to the soundness of the dollar.
