Subscribe to RSSDAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Mitt Romney responded to President Barack Obama's latest attack, accusing the GOP nominee of forgetting and shifting his positions on issues on Friday night by calling out the Obama campaign for resorting to "petty attacks and silly word games" in the final three weeks of the campaign.
"Have you been watching the Obama campaign lately?" Romney asked a crowd of several thousand supporters at an outdoor event Friday night. "It's absolutely remarkable. They have absolutely no agenda for the future. No agenda for America. No agenda for a second term. It's a good thing they won't have a second term."
"They've been reduced to petty attacks and silly word games. Just watch it. The Obama campaign has become the incredible shrinking campaign," Romney said.
Romney's counter came after Obama unveiled a new line of attack at a rally earlier Friday in Virginia, coining the term "Romnesia" to describe satirically how Romney might have changed positions on issues by forgetting his past stances over the years.
“He's changing up so much -- backtracking and sidestepping. We've got to name this condition that he's going through. I think ... I think it's called 'Romnesia'. Now, I'm not a medical doctor but I do want to go over some of the symptoms with you. Because I want to make sure nobody else catches it,” the president said.
“If you say you're for equal pay for equal work, but you keep refusing to say whether or not you'd sign a bill that protects equal pay for equal work, you might have Romnesia,” Obama said to laughs. “If you say women should have access to contraceptive care, but you supported legislation that would let your employers deny you contraceptive care, you might have a case of Romnesia.”
Romney continued his own new assault on what he claimed was the lack of a second term agenda for the Democratic administration, a chord he has been striking at each appearance since the second debate.
"The president has no jobs agenda. We keep on asking him: What are you going to do to create jobs? He has nothing new. He says well we're going to go forward," Romney said. "Forewarned is a better term."
“Here’s just part of President Obama’s agenda for a second term: double our exports, create a million manufacturing jobs, cut oil imports in half, recruit 100,000 math and science teachers, train two million workers at community colleges, and reduce the deficit by more than $4 trillion," Obama campaign spokesman Danny Kanner responded in a statement.
Romney and vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan's joint appearance in the Sunshine State, their third such joint stop here -- and Romney's plan to stay here through Monday night's debate -- reflect the closeness of the race here. A new poll from CNN/ORC shows the Florida in a statistical dead heat -- with Romney claiming 49 percent of the vote to Obama's 48 percent.
At a fundraiser in Boca Raton on Friday, Ryan told donors their late gifts could make the difference in financing a turnout operation that will determine the winner of this often-decisive battleground state.
"Your dollars are going straight to voter turnout, to voter education, to cutting thru the clutter, to giving the country a choice that they themselves deserve," Ryan said.

Why would any real person that does not make a minimum of Romney's $250,000 average wage believe that if he was elected president he will give a damn about them? If elected all of the SUPER RICH backers of campaign will get everything they want passed. Any laws passed since the collapse of the market will be erased so we will be set up to repeat the collapse.

I hope voters begin to pay attention and vote what is good for the people of this country. I want to know where all the old grandma's are going when Mitt kicks them off of Medicaid if he wins and out of the nursing homes. What are we doing with our headstart preschoolers when those programs are shut down? Thousands of families with a mom or dad that cannot work due to lack of childcare. ??? There are many consequences to Romeny's policies and he has no idea since he has had such a life of privilege.
I will rememeber all of these things when i am not pay any taxes on all those capital gains if Romney wins. (sarcasm) Saddly Romney does not even realize that average americans do not have capital gains.

Obama is having a great time right now and I think it is good that he gives the American people some slogans to remember when they go to the polls. However, I do think we need more of a vision. I also think it would be great for Obama to layout how he is going to work with a congress him that has spent much of them time blocking what he has done for the last four years. He could also start campaigning somewhat to try and change that situation. I don't often hear him pleading to the people to vote to give him a congress he can work with.

There is nothing "petty" or "silly" about what is being thrust upon voters by the Romney/Ryan ticket. Their perpetual, pernicious prevarication M.O. has many Right Wing and Ultra Right Wing Extremists worked into a lather. These malinformed possible voters respond to the tripe that R&R spew.
As a lifelong independent voter who has NEVER missed an election for which I was eligible, I look through totally objective eyes at campaigns and candidates. For nearly 1/2 the voting mass willing to flush our country down the proverbial toilet - by casting their respective ballots for R/R - is beyond pitiful.
Candidate Romney is the petty and silly candidate. His chameleon-like approach to the presidency is so amazingly transparent. Sadly, there is a huge portion of voters who swallow his nonsense. Obama's campaign is representative of his first term. Its not playing on the strengths and accomplishments of his first term. Instead his campaign is saying reelect Obama because he's not the other guy.
Looking at his first term it understandable that they choose to go this way because what does Obama have to stand on?
He hires Bush's economic adviser and stays the Bush economic course of stimulus, bailouts and tax cuts to the rich on steroids.
Instead of implementing his tax reform, he has the Bush tax cuts to the rich extended in 2010.
The first real challenge Obama faced was the Gulf Oil Spill where he was a total failure in his judgement and decision making that cost million in the clean up and lost thousands of people there jobs.
Obamacare turned out to be an insult. Instead of creating one national health care program that would eliminated all the other health care programs at the Federal, State and Country and save the taxpayers money, he just created another one to be heaped on top of all the other ones and adds additional tax burdens on the people.
He didn't pull the last of the troops out of Iraq until a couple of weeks ago while committing funds and troops to the Afghan government for another 10 years.
He claims that reducing the deficit by $207 billion while adding $1.78 trillion to the national debt in the same time period is growing our economy, yet companies like GM and Wells Fargo have recently announce they are exporting their operations overseas.
A record high number 46.37 million Americans are now receiving food stamps.
Our government was going to shut down twice, August 2, 2011 and October 1, 2012, in fourteen months and is in position to shut down March 1, 2013 due to Obama's debt crisis.
With all the Federal, State, County, and local police authorities whose authority is restricted by Constitutional protections afforded every citizen, Obama created a New Military Police Authority whose authority isn't restricted by Constitutional protections afforded each citizen.

Obama was against the oil pipe line, then he was only for a small section of the pipe line.
Obama supports same sex marriage, but refuses to back up that support at the judicial level claiming its a State's right. This is coming for a man who is supposed to be a Constitutional scholar. Looks like he didn't study the first ten Articles of the Constitution known as our Bill of Rights.

Because the Obamacare benefits don't mature until 2024, Obama has been creating slush funds to make it look like Obamacare is paying for all these health care benefits people are now receiving. The only true Obamacare benefit that is being made availabe now is the free death counseling becasue its free.
Obama took $780 billion out of Medicare to fund these slush funds.
Obama counldn't get any budgets passed with his democratically controlled congress, but had no problem getting the to redefine pizza as a health food for his wifes program and get the band lifted on horse meat for human consumption.
Obama went on National TV this past April and told the nation that he wanted to pay higher taxes and he would be if he could only get his tax reform implemented.
Obama never even proposed his tax reform to congress in 2009 & 2010 when his democratic congress was passing everything he wanted.
But in 2010, Obama did push for and get the Bush tax cuts to the Rich extended that had him paying less in taxes. The Bush tax cuts to the rich were due to expire at the end of 2010 and Obama didn't have to do a thing and he would have been paying the higher taxes he said he wanted to pay.

As I read through everyone’s comments I am struck by how very few are well thought out and articulated. We are all Americans and should be on the same side with different points of view and opinions. Most of what I am reading is simply slander.

I would love to hear clear rhetorical dialog using the arena of ideas and reason. What I expecting is that most comments will be R or X rated. President Obama presented his collectivism/socialist/ redistribution agenda very well for the past 4 years and one debate where he claims he believes in “rugged individualism” cannot hide the philosophy of collectivism he has touted. And no amount of foul-mouthed editorials from any one, to include the left leaning media, can change the record of redistribution socialistic policies of this administration.

If Mr. President Obama wins, I will be pulling out of the stock market and look at stocking a self sufficient place to live, or possibly even retiring out of the country to be able to save what I have earned through hard work and investments. If Mr. Romney wins, I will probably pull out a quarter of my investments in the stock market and see about starting a couple of businesses. I would like people to know "I built this business" and have good, proud employees working for my corporations.

Obama's first election could be compared to the marketing program of a prototype automobile that gets a whole bunch of hype, but is not yet available for a test drive. The initial offering results in a huge number of pre-sales. Everyone wants to get in on the action. They want to be a part of the "cool" crowd and the first on their block to have that revolutionary new car. What happens when the new prototype car is delivered and the public finds out it only makes left turns and the wheels fall off of it soon after the break-in period. The maintenance cost is sky high and the warranty is non-existant. That is what Obama will face in this election. An electorate that no longer has to listen to the hype and can look at the results of the test drive. The Obama experiment has proven to be a dismal failure. When it comes to hype and hyperbole versus performance and effectiveness Obama is the "segway" of presidential history.
Obama has done a great job as President especially in light of the Republican obstructionism that he fought. Our economy is improving, unemployment is going down, we are once again gaining respect in the world and jobs are being created here, not in China like Romney wants to do.

This president is too negative. The American people are tired of watching a president blame everyone else. Who always finds an excuse. Who makes his opponents out to be enemies, rather than treat them as people who disagree with him. Who describes his opponent in diabolical terms. Who says we need to do better, but asks us to be satisfied with unsatisfactory results in the meantime.
