Biden 'fired up and ready to go' for debate

Vice President Joe Biden is “fired up and ready to go” for the debate with Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Thursday.

Traveling with reporters to Miami for President Barack Obama’s campaign events, Psaki said the president and campaign has “great confidence in the vice president’s performance.”

She added later that the president called Biden on Air Force One during the flight to wish him luck tonight.

Psaki pushed back, however, on the notion, that it’s up to Biden to blunt the momentum Mitt Romney built up after his performance in last week’s presidential debate, from which he emerged, by most accounts, the winner.

Indicating, perhaps, Biden’s line of attack against Ryan, she said the real question was “which Paul Ryan will show up this evening,” saying he has a tendency to be misleading about his positions on Medicare and tax cuts. But she also noted that, as the opponents will be sitting down, the debate will likely be "more of a conversation" than the first presidential debate, which featured both candidates sparring from podiums at opposite sides of the stage.

At the president's campaign event later in Miami, Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson was much more bullish when previewing the vice president's debate performance, saying he would make "mincemeat" of Ryan Thursday night.

NBC's Shawna Thomas contributed to this report.

to bahhrt- maybe i misunderstood you, but if not-here is my humble opinion-During Obama's inauguration, the AFrican-American minister made some speech or prayer that included "time for red to..., yellow to... and white to do right". I'm sorry- but there is no way that belongs at a President's Inauguration. Especially since there was a huge 'white' vote for the President (who happens to be of mixed race, raised by his mother and her Caucasian family). This President has made more racial comments and judgments than I ever remember any other President making, why is that tolerated???? Why was it tolerated having the Black Panthers with weapons at Polling PLaces??There is video of it for you who don't believe. Why did the President glance at a situation and the race of the 2 people involved and make a prejudicial comment before knowing ANY facts? He even admitted that he didn't know the facts about the incident with the Professor and the Policeman in Mass. WHy is he a true American patriot? Because he is the first African American president? or because he is doing an awesome job as president addressing the needs of ALL Americans?? He had the opportunity to bridge the gap between races, to be impartial and unbiased in his decision making and he didn't do it. There is just as much reverse discrimination going on now and it is tolerated and even promoted in some areas. This country will never come together and will be destroyed from the inside out unless someone like Obama, who is charismatic and should know both sides of the story, denounces prejudice and racism in ALL it's forms. Not to mention, there is enough hatred out there against all sides- not just him.

Ryan took the most time.A few times he couldnt get the answe out.Im sorry that Joe Biden didnt mention to Ryan about Rommey using a veteran name in a campaign message doing it with a smile on his facew. All of us veterans should be ashamed of this.Neither Rommet or Ryans family served our country.Rommey dodged the draft by jumping different collages.I heard a comment from Warren Buffet during the Irague war when Bush and the republican congress kept sending money and troups. His comment was not any of the house or senate went to the airport for a member of there famalies coming home in a coffin. All vets no matter who you are REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT we honor every vet who served our country.

Joe Biden was a disgusting, ignorant, RUDE buffoon. That snickering, snarling, phony "chicklet" expression he touted made him look like the "joker". His parents certainly didn't bother to teach him a thing about manners and not interrupting when someone else is speaking. It was quite apparent his upbringing was definitely lacking in that department. And anyone who believes they were not informed about the so called video NOT being the cause of the Ambassador and 3 other Americans murders has to be an idiot to believe that. Especially since they were told exactly that within 24 hours after it happened. Yet Obama kept insisting it was due to the video. Just how stupid does Obama and his "Barackateers" think the American people are?

Well Joe(bite-me)Bide hasn't changed much over the years, he's still a attack dog, in this instance it's for obama. 0le Joe did foam a bit last night but what he showed last last night is how rude he can be, how crude he is, how out of touch he is, and that he is still very good at manufacturing lies on the run. I expect that the white house will be getting called out by the CIA, and also the Libyan Government officials on account of biden's account of when they were told that the attackers of the Embassy in Libya were in-fact terrorists. They were told in less that 24 hours and according to biden it was days later. That's an ouch, an also there were numerous requests for additional support for the Ambassador and they were denied. What biden did for many was confirm why a lot of democrats are turning away from obama/biden
