Updated 3:11 p.m. - President Barack Obama's campaign manager cautioned Thursday that the election is "far from over," just as polls show GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney gaining on Obama.
"This thing is far from over," campaign manager Jim Messina said on a conference call, "and every single day, across the battleground states, voters are voting and we are able to affect that vote every single day."
Messina was speaking on a call to boast of their campaign's efforts to register voters in key swing states, and, beyond that, encourage early voting where it's allowed.
There are signs that this strategy has paid dividends, too. Almost 1-in-5 respondents in the Thursday NBC News-Wall Street Journal-Marist poll of Ohio said they had voted early; 63 percent of those who had already cast ballots said they had voted for Obama.
At the same time, though, Romney has eaten into Obama's lead in swing states like Ohio, Virginia and Florida on the strength of his debate performance last week against the president. The tightening polls have prompted Democratic nervousness that Romney stands a better-than-expected chance at winning the election.
Messina sent out a clarion call to supporters to warn against complacency.
"The most important think I learned when I was running track was to finish strong," he said. "At the end of a race, you sprint and lean into the tape, you don't let up. And quite simply, we're not going to let up until Election Night when we win this thing. And the ground game we've built up over the past few years will help us drive hard right through that finish line."
Romney political director Rich Beeson said in response: “Since the debate, we’ve seen a 63 percent increase in volunteer hours, a growing enthusiasm gap that continues to favor Governor Romney, a strengthening of our already strong ground game, and we’re seeing the effects of this in polling numbers across the battleground states. What the Obama campaign didn’t tell you is that we are leading or even with them in early vote in key states across the country – FL, NC, CO, NV, and NH. Our early vote numbers are outperforming voter registration in battleground states, demonstrating the strength of our ground game and the excitement for the Romney/Ryan ticket. Not only are we keeping pace with the vaunted Obama machine, but we believe our ground game will put us over the finish line on Election Day.”

Now it is far from over--this administration has forced us into bankrutpcy...so Jan 2012 with OBAMA CARE ...people will be jumping out of windows or throwing themselves in front of moving vehicles just like 3rd world nations where our admin has sent our printed monitized debt dollars especially to overthrow Egypt, Syria, Libya and 7 other African nations while importing all their inhabitants on US Taxpaying diminishing working plus our own 47%.
How much more can I pay with 23% health care premiums and an increased deductible...plus all my other insurances : and get to work...

Last January the Democrats agreed to cut the unemployment benefits down from 99 weeks to 63 weeks...They did this because it was an election year and thought the unemployment rates would go down since they kicked people off and they are no longer counted. But the rates are still high. So the Democrats, who are supposed to be for the little guy...thew the unemployed under the bus. They are self serving politicians that only care about getting re-elected. Hence, all the pandering the President has been doing. I just got kicked off unemployment and no longer counted. Now they say we are on the right track because the unemployment rate is down to 7.8%.. Well folks, when Obama took office in Jan. '09 the rate was just over 5%. Look it up.
Ya, it's over! Obama is going to kick the Republican's ass. As it should be after what they have done to our Country. Now let's take back our Country from the Corporate Government!

Mitt Romney's son, Tagg Romney, has been engaged in a contract with a surrogate mother with the stipulations that if the child being carried was not up to the Romney's specifications, that the Romney family would have the final say if the child would be aborted or not. In other words the Romney family used their money to buy the power to end a human life, something that Mitt Romney has spoken out against vehemently in the past.
As an Historian, I can say with total factual confidence that Obama is the worst President in US History. Doubling the debt of 43 previous Presidents, ruining the economy with stupid outdated slow policies, etc. On every front Obama has made a mess that will take decades to fix. And as the first debate revealed, he is an intellectual empty suit, helpless without a teleprompter and screaming screened supporters. He appeals to the lower half of the IQ Bell Curve. Fortunately they do not vote a near the rate of smarter folks.
Someone wants to forget about their poor debate performance.
Many of us want to forget about that last 4 years of "poor" performance.
Now that people can see what the real candidates are like, they don't have to rely on the lies and misinformation that the lib's always portray.
Obama couldn't handle the "real" Romney, just like he can't handle the "real" job of being President.

You liberals out there sure like to talk about supposed lies from Romney. As an independent I can assure you that ALL politicians lie! Exactly what bonafide lies are you all refering to? And while you're all making that list what about Obama's lies? Don't they count? The latest being the ever deteriorating situation concerning Libya and the death of our ambassador over there. You liberals would be dilusional to disregard that! That's WHOPPER of a lie! And what about his promise of "cutting the deficit in half by the end of this miserable term? What about "transparency in government?" What about his original campaign promise of "live C-SPAN coverage" of the health care debate?" I could go even further, but I think I've made my point. My bigger concern is all the liberal usefull idiots, and reality blind partisan robots out there that are wrapped so tightly around a political ideology that they refuse to see what's going on around them. Not a peep is heard from you all about the sad state of unemployment for the last four years during this administration, but when during the Bush administration the unemployment rate was at a steady 5.8% liberals fumed! I acknowleadge that ALL politicians lie to gain office. I'm not so blind as some of you fools out there that sound like you actually believe only one candidate lies, while the other is as pure as the wind driven snow. I "WILL NOT" be used by "ANY" politician! I am "NOBODY"S" fool or usefull idiot! And I refuse to be a complete slave to any political philosophy. Too bad most of you out there will. Is it any wonder we as a nation are in such a mess?
If Obama can have a break out performance next Tuesday night like Biden did against slick Ryan then it is over for the GOP party. Obama needs to come out swinging, being more animated and expose Romney for what he really is a big fraud, one who will manipulate the tax code to only benefit his rich buddies in big business, the Koch Bros., the rich while the middle class is eliminated, the mortgage interest deduction is axed, social security is privatized, Medicare benefits are drastically reduced, giving more corporate welfare to big oil, education budget is paired back drastically, and that's just for starters. Vote Obama and Biden and keep the chameleons Romney and Ryan out of Washington and the White House.

Exactly how is it that Romney is a "big fraud?" You heard what he said during the debate concerning the tax code, didn't you? You really need to stay away from reading those "liberal talking points!" Tell me, why is it that Romney is a "big fraud" but Obama isn't? Didn't Obama PROMISE that he wouldn't impose a tax increase on anyone making $250,000 or less? Hmm? Under Obama, all of the middle-class is going to get hit HARD next year! The democrats all tried to paint Romney as some sort of "cold-hearted" rich guy for months, and it "BACK-FIRED!" The electorate got to see the real Mitt Romney during the debate and found out without all the layers of liberal media filters that he's a nice, personable guy. Not at all the "evil" corrupt millionaire as portrayed. Sorry SportsLover22, the American people aren't buying it any longer. You really need to stop spreading the lie about social security too. He didn't say he'd privatize it. But he will give younger people an "OPTION" to have some of there social security contributions into the private market. That's called choice. Two weeks ago the Obama campaign and the Poodle Press were trying to convince us that Romney was done! Now they are trying to convince themselves that it isn't over for Obama. Their problem is the American people got to see the real Romney and the real Obama, and they realized Obama is a failed President with no PLAN for the future. While Romney looks like he should be President and does have a plan. Last night we saw he VP Candidates. I don't know about you...but after Watching Biden interrupt, smirk, grin like a loon, and make a complete buffoon of himself, I'm even more appalled by the Obama/Biden ticket. How did these people ever get into the White House in the first place?

"...just as polls show....Romney gaining on Obama"???? Romney has been in the lead in RCP for 4 days (and was actually tied or in the lead before that when corrections are made in the demographics). Barring a huge blunder by Romney/Ryan, Obama has already lost, he just doesn't believe it. Benghazi Gate is a slow burn that will topple an administration that was already doomed from failed policies.
The only likely good thing about a Romney presidency is that it would guarantee Jeb Bush never becomes president.

If you are the patriot you say you are you should hand over to the Republicans. You have been given a honest chance and you are not cutting it.
