During Wednesday’s hearing by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Libya, the reality of the situation on the ground in Benghazi came crashing down in front of the few lawmakers who had remained until the hearing’s fourth hour. While recounting the difficulty he had in trying to get more security forces in the country, Regional Security Office Eric Nordstrom explained that, sometimes, he felt as though he was being attacked from within.
“You know what makes most frustrating about this assignment?” Nordstrom asked rhetorically, “It's not the hardships, it's not the gunfire, it's not the threats — it's dealing and fighting against the people and programs personnel who are supposed to be supporting me."
Two former security officers from the Benghazi consulate where four Americans were killed in a terrorist attack told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that they had requested security assistance but were "fighting a losing battle." NBC's Andrea Mitchell reports.
"For me, the Taliban is on the inside of the building," he said.
And while the statement attempted to paint a picture of the realities on the ground in Libya, the reality in the United States is that the discussion surrounding the attack, and whether it was preventable, has been overcome by politics.
“With each passing day, we learn more about the ways in which the Obama Administration misled the American people about the tragic events that transpired in the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012,” Mitt Romney’s Policy Director, Lanhee Chen, said in a statement today.
The criticism keys in on comments made by UN Ambassador Susan Rice in the days after the attack in Benghazi. During an interview on Meet the Press, Rice called the attack “a spontaneous reaction” and “a copycat of the demonstrations against our facility in Cairo” in response to a video circulating on YouTube that criticizes the prophet Muhammad.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice discusses the financial aid the U.S. provides to Middle Eastern countries.
That story didn’t hold up, and nine days after the attack, Republican lawmakers told reporters that there was no evidence of a protest before the attack, even though Democrats said that the protest was still a factor that night. After a classified, members-only briefing by Secretary Clinton on Capitol Hill, Rep Dutch Ruppersberger (MD), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, even called the demonstrations a “fact.”
A fuller picture emerged this Tuesday evening, when the State Department acknowledged that there had been no demonstration, and that the attack was instead “premeditated” and “unprecedented” considering the size and scope of operation that resulted in Amb. Stevens’s death.
What has transpired in the weeks since the attack in Benghazi is a game of political hot potato, where neither side wants to take the blame for oversights that contributed to the killing of a U.S. ambassador for the first time since Jimmy Carter was in the White House.
Democrats argued Republicans shouldn’t be advocating for increased security in foreign countries when they have voted in the past years to cut funding for just that. The only problem is that while 147 Republicans voted to cut that funding, 149 Democrats voted to do the same.
Republicans say they want to get to the bottom of the attack, but they failed to allow the Democrats on the committee to access their key witness or any of the documents they had unearthed, a breach of traditional protocol during committee investigations.
But looking at this on the macro-level, the biggest hit during this political fight has been dealt to President Barack Obama himself.
Foreign policy has been one of the president’s points of strength amid an anemic economic recovery. Obama’s foreign policy achievements, such as the killing of Osama Bin Laden and withdrawal from Iraq, have bolstered his résumé as he seeks a second term.
Sensing that advantage, Republicans have taken aim at the president's handling of the LIbya attack.
“I’m stunned that they thought that this was some kind of spontaneous demonstration,” Sen John McCain said on Sept. 20, “It shows the level of their abysmal knowledge about fundamental aspects of terrorist attacks and militant operations.”
It’s a characterization that president would like to avoid going into the final four weeks of the campaign, which will include a debate focusing specifically on foreign policy.

Issa should do oversight on that Norquist Pledge!
But looking at this on the macro-level, the biggest hit during this political fight has been dealt to President Barack Obama himself
Yeah, having your Administration lie to the American Public will do that to you.
Come on now Chilled, we can't have that!
All dear old Grover needs is a sitting President with enough "digits" to sign what ever he puts in front of them!
PS: WCA, I see you didn't take my advice earlier - I'm sure your rife & kids would LOVE to see a sober asshat in their house! lol
There are two kinds of drunks - the ones like YOU and the others who recognize they need some help!
I see you didn't take my advice either Feisty.
A 28 day stint in ReHab could be just the thing you need to really, finally, dry out.
Apparently just one week wasn't enough for your addiction.
Just think, if you go in tomorrow, you don't even have to worry about the election.
Well lookie who showed up. Surprise, Surprise. Feisty the Red Communist is here spewing her nonsensical venomous vomit. And she still is unemployed. Word has it she was fired from her last job for using computers for her own communist political agenda. Oh, and drug use.
Frank Thorp, the writer says:
Sure Frank.
This is not a bigt hit, 'cause you say so.......The TeaPeople always like macro-level stuff......
One More thing Feisty...There he goes again.....Issa needs to get a real job, or just go enjoy his 3-400 million ill gotten dollars...
There is no way Obama can defend his lies about Libya or jailing an American citizen in the dead of night pretending it is about a movie nobody saw.
BARRACK OBAMA ...FAILED PRESIDENCY!!!
Not a big hit? How can you defend the grossly inept handling of the Libya situation?
After these attacks, if George Bush was still president, he would definitely invade a country again - invading Iraq one more time
Well now, the deaths were and are tragic.
"Grossly Inept" more aptly describes the Iraq War/Dubya and the associated lies....Thousands of deaths, remember.
Fisty says
Pot meet Kettle.
It is possible that there were security reasons to not make public all knowledge of the attacks immediately. Issa is a disgrace to this country for trying to politicize this tragedy so quickly. Romney is a disgrace to this country for trying to use the deaths for political gain. All you Monday-morning quarterbacks are.....well, let's just say you've only been in the game in your dreams.
Romney can not wait to make a political platform from out dead Americans. Sad
Obama 2012
Romney 1040
Thank you for the jobs Obama
WTF are you talking about CO? Reasons for not making public? What the hell would those be? It isn't politicizing, it is bringing to the forefront the inept reaction to a tragedy that should not have happened. I don't give a damn (Fisty and your frigging minions) who cut the budget for "protection". When someone calls for help and knows there may be impending disaster ahead, you do SOMETHING. You don't blame it on budget cuts, you don't blame it on the fact "we don't have the personnel to help you". You pull whatever rabbit you have out of the frigging hat and head to the heat zone. KMA you lib sheep. I can't believe your undying dedication to the moron in chief allows you to think this way. You are a disgrace.
Kind of surprised you didn't blame it on Bush. You libs are truly sad. Talk about making it political, Romney? Please, you have all done that already.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19905786
There may be security reasons for not making all details public- there are NEVER security reasons for bald faced lying to the public.
Obama knew that an amateur video had nothing whatsoever to do with the Embassy attack in Cairo, (they want the Blind Sheikh released).
He knew bloody damned well that the attack in Libya was an orchestrated attack.
His lies inflamed the Muslim world to violent protest- nobody had heard of that video until he began hyping it.
This was nothing more than a blatant attempt to def,ect blame from his own failings. It is NOT acceptable in a president.
Ask Jimmy Carter. At least he owned the hostage crisis. He didn't try to blame it on anyone else's actions.
Wow, I've said all along that this administration is very much like the Carter administration. Now we have one more similarity. A dead Ambassador, terrible. And I love the reporting about Obama's great foreign policy, killed Osama and pulled the troops out of Iraq. Two wonderful things except George Bush set up both of them, Obama was good enough to see them through. And if you lefties don't think that this administrations bragging about killing Osama didn't have anything to do with the attack, you need your head examined. Terrible leader, pathetic liar, a failure to the American people.
lynseypug - Get your talking points from somewhere other than MSNBC. Go get a transcript of what Romney said about the dead man. He showed a lot of respect for that man and what kind of man he was. It is sick of the left to drag his mother into this. Where was President Obama's statement about him? "He was killed because of a movie"?????? Liar.
Daryl Issa should bring out all the facts. We are entitled to know the truth. After all, who wants a liar for a President? Obama and Clinton are the disgrace to this country for covering up these murders for their political gain!
Hey lynseypig, care to post the rest of the interview when she talks about how he thought Romney would make a good president? Didn't think so.
Again:
no jo, you dolt...the people that cut funding to that Embassy are REPUBLICANS. And they are BRAGGING about it.
You going to call for their resignations? Or does that not fit your irrational hatred of this black President?
Ft. Hood- Lies and cover-up
Fast and Furious- Lies and cover-up
Benghazi- Lies and cover-up
newday
You forgot to mention the democrats who cut funding. As your side likes to say, "let's be fair". Why do you have to mention that President Obama is black? Again you forgot to mention he is white too. Let's be fair. I am getting tired of his inept leadership, black or white.
1/20/2013 - the end of an error
Nojo -- "...nobody had heard of that video until he [Obama?] began hyping it...."
Liar. There were protests happening throughout the mideast. And how can you really say that? "Began hyping it"?
Just because you say something doesn't make it true. I could think of many names to call you but I'll refrain.
Hard to refrain from it, isn't it COinFl?
Why do I not mention that the President if half white, JH? Because the bigots like no jo react to his blackness.
And for no jo that he isn't her crush Hillary.
despite repeated warning they denied further security. Kinda like when Clinton decided to ignore Bin laden. We got 9-11. just happened to be on bushes watch.
NDD - 149 DEMOCRATS also voted with 147 Republicans to cut the funding. If the State Department didn't think they had sufficient money to provide proper security then the Ambassador and others should never have been there in the first place. There had been previous attacks on the same Consulate. The State Department could have moved money from other sources. Further, the State Department spokesperson today still claims that there was sufficient security at the Consulate. Again the State Department knew exactly how much money they had, and if it wasn't enough then the Ambassador and others shouldn't have been there. LACK OF LEADERSHIP BY OBAMA AND CLINTON.
This was one of the biggest coverups by this Administration. Wasn't this Administration going to be the most transparent Administration.
sfcret: EVERYTHING with you is a lack of leadership with your President.
The failure is Congress. The obstructionism is from the Republican Party.
For once, put the blame where it belongs.
Bin Laden was a known terrorist way back in 1995, there was actually a plan in 1996 to kidnap him and bring him to trial but week foreign policy decided it was better to leave him alone.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_policy_of_the_Clinton_Administration
Both Ryan and Issa voted to cut funding for embassy security. Hypocrites.
Hey ndD, what didn't you understand about the Dems that voted the same way?
NDD - Yes, with me LEADERSHIP is a big thing. Blaming others shows a lack of LEADERSHIP. The blame for this Libyan fiasco is strictly on the President and the Secretary of State. Further, remember the Senate is controlled by the DEMOCRATS, and there can't be a funding bill for the State Department without concurrence of both houses and the President's signature. BTW, I believe the government is operating on a Continuing Resolution and not individual appropriations bills for FY 2013.
For once NDD, learn something about our government and LEADERSHIP then get back to me.
Numerous request for extra security was denied. what don't you liberals get on this issue. so what funds where cut. does that mean you can't shift something over there to accommodate a threat or you just ignore it. This was a administration issue and that isn't even bringing up the denial that followed
How can you defend the grossly inept handling of the Libya situation?
I can't. why do the GOP in congress feel it's better to cut Marines at embassies than kick backs to their defense contractor buddies?
sfcret: So you would say that the disaster in Beirut, in 1983 was fully and solely the responsibility of President Reagan, correct? Lack of leadership and all that.
Should Reagan have been impeached for it? Remember what he did? He ran.
Oh and sfcret? There is no need to yell.
Sorry Talkie old fellow. The Republicans own this.
This will just fade away like Eric Holder and the fast and furious cover up. If it does make it to the top, it too will be swiftly orchestrated out of public attention by an executive order.
You don't expect anyone in Washington to be held accountable, do you?
Oil from both Libya and Iraq is flowing - fast and furious - into US - but gas price still rises - fast & furious too...quite a conundrum.
Actually Reagan pulled out our ground forces, floated the Indianopolis up to the Lebanese Coast and shelled the town the truck bomb came from flat. Reagan, greatest president since FDR. Obama couldn't shine his shoes.
This will just fade away just like Eric Holder and the fast and furious cover up
Dude, do you pay attention to the news at all? The congressional hearings were led by Republicans. They were fishing like mad and they found that the fault was at the relatively low level field office and with Arizona prosecutors. Pay attention.
Scott-1352085
How can you defend the grossly inept handling of the Libya situation?
I can't. why do the GOP in congress feel it's better to cut Marines at embassies than kick backs to their defense contractor buddies?
-------------------
The only problem is that while 147 Republicans voted to cut that funding, 149 Democrats voted to do the same.
NDD - Nice try at deflecting from the subject at hand. But, yes it was the result of lack of leadership by Reagan and the Department of Defense.
I have not called for Obama's impeachment since stupidity is not really grounds for such and failing in Leadership is not an impeachment offense, since no laws were broken. BTW, Reagan never ran, in military terms we call it "strategic withdrawal."
BTW, what kind of President upon learning his Ambassador and 3 others were killed in a terrorist attack on American soil (Embassies and Consulates are considered that Countries soil), continues on to a campaign fund raiser, appears on the view and continues to lie about the facts?
BTW, I didn't mean to bold type. But I do wish you could stay on topic and I am willing to bet you aren't even old enough to actually remember the bombing of the Marine Barracks.
Sorry, no, lefty: Reagan pulled the troops out in 1984. There was no response for this attack.
Not a deflection at all, sfcret, simply the truth. Also the truth, Reagan ran. He didn't do a strategic withdrawal, he booked it out of there. I'm old enough to remember it.
What kind of President does the things you mention? Reagan did. He promptly went on vacation.
You seem like an intelligent man. Why don't you move past this hatred you have for this President and simply deal with the facts.
President Obama did nothing to cause this attack or obfuscate what happened. He did not ignore warnings, nor did he deliberately and maliciously leave that Embassy unprotected.
This is simply fodder for those who hate.
On Wednesday morning, CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien asked the Utah Republican if he had "voted to cut the funding for embassy security."
"Absolutely," Chaffetz said. "Look we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have…15,000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, a private army there, for President Obama, in Baghdad. And we’re talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces. When you’re in tough economic times, you have to make difficult choices. You have to prioritize things.”
For the past two years, House Republicans have continued to deprioritize the security forces protecting State Department personnel around the world. In fiscal year 2011, lawmakers shaved $128 million off of the administration's request for embassy security funding. House Republicans drained off even more funds in fiscal year 2012 -- cutting back on the department's request by $331 million.
huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/10/jason-chaffetz-embassy_n_1954912.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
149 Dems along with 147 GOP votes. What don't you understand ndD
Oh, and since I remind you that Reagan left immediately on vacation (though it might be easier to recall when he was actually at work, since vacation was his whole raison d'etre) I should remind you that when Reagan left 300 people had died.
300 people that he had put in that building.
Talkie, dear boy, read post 1.41. You might learn something.
NDD - We are not talking about Reagan, we are talking about the incompetence of the Obama Administration. You know the President that sent his people out on the morning shows and news circuit to lie and cover up for his lack of LEADERSHIP. Why can't you answer my questions, but then it appears you are a liberal troll that only can spout the talking points in stead of posting facts about Libya. The Democrats are to blame, get over it and accept the facts and move on.
Al - Why did the State Department today testify that they felt there was adequate security at the Embassy and Consulate? Further, if they felt security was inadequate why didn't they move the personnel out. Further I believe there were no Marines for security because the Libyans asked we not use Marines and the State Department agreed.
149 Dems along with 147 GOP votes.
So your saying that it is Obama's fault because 2 more Democratic Reps voted for it than Republicans? And you don't see the logical fallacy, especially since the Republicans control the House and it is Boehners job to lead the House.....really?
Sorry, no sfcret: those that cut the President's budget for the defense of the Embassies are to blame. They are currently spiking the football over it, if you read the post at 1.41. Your problem with what I have said is that I spoke truth, and you don't like hearing truth. You can only deal with salacious rumor, as long as it denigrates your President.
The sad part about that is it makes you just like no jo, and I have always given you more credit than that. She is the LAST person you should emulate.
So, accept the facts as they are and move on.
I wonder what George Washington would've said...... I cannot tell a lie, it was a video
Of course none of this would have happened, as well as the credit downgrade and two potential government shut-downs if the tea-baggers in Congress hadn't been playing their little political games.
And Newday, I think you know that it was NOT the President's budget that went through Congress.
Al in Visalia, CA: I can't believe they are blaming House Republicans for this...... Let's not lose sight of the fact that the President has been wanting to cut defense spending for months.
Second, let's not lose sight of the fact, that the President has moved the Quantanamo Bay prison inmates into Illinois, just so he could have a few terrorists on our soil.
Third, do I think it was a wise choice to cut security to our embassies? Absolutely not...... But given the fact that the President was providing so much aid to each of these countries, the Republicans probably thought it was a safe bet to cut spending there.......It wasn't.
Which goes to show you, never turn your back on a terrorist...... Makes me wonder why the President chose to move the Quantanamo Bay terrorists to US soil, though.
http://articles.latimes.com/2012/jan/26/nation/la-na-defense-spending-cuts-20120127
President wants to cut defense spending.....
NDD - My last post since I see you can't have a serious discussion and refuse to present any facts and can't rebut anything I have said. So if you can rebut my comments about why no Marines, why the State Department said they felt there was adequate security and the fact if they needed more money they could have taken from other State Department funds (Allocation for State Department is around 50 Billion). Further you haven't answered why the Obama Administration immediately went into cover up mode.
I believe you are getting more like Feisty, SeekingSanity, Pat, and a few others that don't have facts so just post to get something on the board.
Another attempt by certain republican Congressional members like "Issa the criminal" to fashion a political pudding from the cooking of camel turds. Has anything similar happened in that part of the world before? These republicans feigning indignation and blame need to have their collective asses kicked until their noses bleed. If there was a lack of security, they are as much to blame as the democrats. Al Qaeda remains pissed at us, will remain pissed at us, and will hit us wherever we are, whenever they can, without regards to who happens to be our President.
Remember when Obama blamed these attacks on a video and did not call it a terrorist attack?
It's funny how the left always goes back and flip flops.
But, but, but....
But .3% drop in the unemployment rate is bogus and somehow an unprovable conspiracy by the BoLS to keep Obama in office yet this political witch-hunt before an election isn't. :)
See how that works. Republican logic. Black becomes white, up becomes down, truth becomes a lie and the reverse.
O'bama is having a very bad week...
The news says - that - Republi-Cuunt voted to cut funding that was needed to bolster security at our embassies - that's enough for me if Republi-CUUNt still wants to play the blame game, then blame RepubliCuunt themselves.
.
Although I am so tempted by RepubliCuunt and want to blame RepubliCuunt, I would still recommend this approach - United We Stand...
@AH..... Hey twit, don't you read? The only problem is that while 147 Republicans voted to cut that funding, 149 Democrats voted to do the same.
Unhappy-1583758#1.53: Egypt was a hell of a mess at the same time as the Libyan mess, except the Egyptian mess was due to the Video. Wasn't a lot of communication coming in from either place, and most that was, indeed was contradictory. Easy to believe it was the video early on. As things settled down It was learned the Libyan mess was an organized terrorist attack. The Administration said so. What the hell more do you want? More protection? Talk to the Congress. No you don't! You wish to claim the "Black President" just isn't up to the job required, as you see It. Tough sh^t!
WOW.....the Progressives (Liberals~Democrats) are hollering "POLITICS" when an Ambassador and three other Americans were KILLED !!!! You have to be kidding me.
And this administration (from Top to Bottom) is mired in not telling the TRUTH to the American people.
Wake up America.....this is the Progressive way of thinking. Just think if one of these folks were your father, mother, brother, sister, or any relative....and they will say it is "POLITICS" when THEY get killed.
Pigotry.....showing your "benightedness" again ? Better Fact Check your statement when you blame Republicans on a "funding issue". But, that is the way Progressives debate.....spew lies.
Oh, here is the way Progressives (like Pigotry) argue:
Mac Forrester: We all knew the President wasn't up to the challege even before he took office. As for communication, you would think that the President would be in constant contact with EGypt and Libya from all the "special treatment" he has given them?
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/03/obama_attacks_libya_and_wheres.html
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/29/world/middleeast/white-house-move-to-give-egypt-450-million-in-aid-meets-resistance.html?_r=0
Are you trying to inspire racial hate? Because if you are, then you should know that I am not white. Yeah... so it doesn't work with me.
Unhappy-1583758#1.60: I don't care if your skin color is green. You're trying to use a tragedy that could happen anywhere in that area, and often does, for a sorted political advantage. It is quite logical to believe the security there at the time was not sufficient to the attack. Whose fault is that? Congress maybe? Even then Its hindsight. Had either the Congress or the President known such was about to happen I'm sure both would have acted to prevent it before It happened. Purposeful negligence? I don't believe that for a minute. Shoddy security placement? Maybe. Ask Congress. Again, hindsight. Get over the conspiracies already. Makes you look like its all you got. That's stupid. Republicans like to pay Contractors in a war zone. That's inept and stupid.
Sounds like this is a failing of BOTH parties then. I don't see why the Republican Party's supporters should think their party superior only because two less Republicans voted to cut funding if said cut lead to the death of our ambassador.
COVER-UPS usually do become political. There's a difference between with-holding info based on national security issues and out right LIEING like the obama admin has done. Libya-Gate is just one of the final nails that's being pounded in obama's political coffin, and Romney will drive the final nail when he wins the election next month.
Don't you just love how the writers of this article refer to the many failures of this administration with respect to security for the Libyan ambassador as "oversights" ?
I think there is a military term that is more appropriate ... "clu$terf_ck" !!
Then there are the attempts to distort the truth and cover it all up in an election year. This is similar to the Fort Hood massacre being described by this administration as an issue of "domestic violence", even though the shooter screamed radical islamic words before opening fire.
We also have the Fast and Furious coverup where Obama invoked executive privilege to halt the search for truth.
Oh, and the wonderful little credits the writer gives to Obama for getting out of Iraq and taking down Bin Laden ? Those events were the direct by-products of the Bush policies.
Anyone that didn't listen to the four hours of testimony yesterday should go listen.
-State department lady, Lamb, testified they were talking to the consulate real time and up until just before the attack they got reports of calm from someone outside in the compound. State dept knew real time there was no demonstration taking place.
-There were requests for additional security in May and July to which there was no response either time
- Not only no additional security, but 2 security teams were PULLED OUT in August.
-Numerous threats, dozens of incidents of violence, including the consulate that was attacked had been bombed twice.
- Lt Colonel Wood, special forces guy, testified it was "instantly recognizable as a terrorist attack"
-the white house knew within 24 hours it was a terrorist attack, as it was very obvious within a couple of days to anyone paying attention it was a terrorist attack
-president of Libya said the video theory was nonsense
Clintons state dept was on the phone real time so why was she and President Obama peddling this nonsense of "demonstration gone wild"
A week and a half AFTER the attack, and days after the intelligence guys were testifying it was definitely terrorists, ... BO and Clinton spent 70k of our tax dollars making a video apologizing for a video to run in Pakistan.
Two weeks after BO unbelievibly peddles "video" again at the UN when it's obvious to 99.9% of the people that pay attention it wasn't. Even when he knew within 24 hours it wasn't.
Either this is a very bad attempt to try to redirect the truth or we have some very inept people running things.
Obama and company have been caught in a huge lie. They lied for days about the true nature of the attacks in Libya. The worst part is, they tried to lay the blame on a citizen. This should be a top headline, lead news story, but as usual the media tamps down the story to protect their hero Obama. This incident is a breathtaking example of how inept and corrupt this entire administration is, on so many levels. This is a huge issue, a dereliction of duty to protect our citizens abroad, and to have the integrity to be honest with the American people when you screw up. Imagine, going on a campaign swing to Nevada while this issue was unfolding. Where the hell were you Barrack? What the hell were you thinking?? This issue makes me more angry by the minute.
If it were a republican administration lying and covering up the truth behind the terrorist attack in Libya it would be front page news from every mainstream media outlet in the country. But this is Obama, and means no one is suppose to question anything.
Let us not lose sight of some other things not mentioned here:
1. Stevens knew the risk. He knew tensions were high because of the date, because Muslims wanted a cleric released, and because AL Queda is always looking for ways to kill Americans.
2. Stevens knew the consulate had minimum security. Why did he leave the main Embassy in Tripoli and go to the satellite consulate in Benghazi?
3. Was Stevens under orders to go there no matter the risk, or did he make that decison himself? Was he told not to go? I believe it was his decision to make and no one told him what to do. How much of what happened is HIS responsibility?
He decided whatever he needed to do in Benghazi was worth the risk. If he didn't think it was worth the risk, he should have stayed in Tripoli.
Funds were cut and security reduced. To paraphrase Rumsfeld - You use the security you have. Which means, if the security is not available, DONT GO!

---------------
No Scott I'm saying that the Democrates yourself included are trying to blame the GOP for cutting funding when in fact that is not the case. Please don't put words in my mouth, it makes you look bad almost Obama like.
lynsey...
I noticed that you did not bring up the other set of parents who were on the news last night....their Navy Seal 'Team 6' son was killed when the helicopter he was in was shot down earlier this year.
They want to know why President Obama was dumb enough to announce to the world that Bin Laden was killed by "Seal Team 6" ??? What point was there in pinpointing exactly who had done the raid ? Obviously it was the President...acting like 'Mr. Military Operation' and saying far too much to this nation and to our enemies.
Nobody needed to know specifically that it was 'Team 6'...nobody. He simply could have said 'a team of trained soldiers' or ' special military force'...but no...he had to try to prove himself publicly.
The parents said that 'Team 6' members and their families remained on high alert because they now had universal publicity and big red targets on their backs...all due to the big mouth of their Commander in Chief.
Funny how you didn't mention these folks..but hardly surprising when you only felt like peeing on Mr. Romney's shoes.
Please, remember that facts are unimportant to the Obama supporters, they have to make excuses for him constantly. They also, being liberal, only know how to parrot repeatedly the puerile and disingenuous lies needed to coverup his gross negligence.
Note that not one of them mentions the video? The video that Obama and crew claimed, over and over and in front of the UN even, was the cause of Stevens' death!
Obama lied, people died and the Obama supporters could care less about dead people under his watch, they only care about relecting the narcissist in Chief, the man who lies continuously and knowingly. believing that the media and his less-than-bright supporters will continue to support him even when caught in lies so bold they are writ large on billboards. The bottom line is that Obama and his supporters are extraordinarily cavalier about human life.
I guess I should not be surprised that an article about the disaster in Libya and the deceptive way it was handled by the White House ended up with a surprising large number of responses involving Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Mitt Romney, and amazingly...even Grover Nordquist.
You folks reaaaaallllly are something !!!
Can the President be held even partially responsible for anything, anytime, anywhere that happens on his watch by the synchophants on this site ??? This topic today proves that the answer is a big, fat "NO".
Why impeach obama when we could tar & feather the half assed white trash and send him and moochelle back to the 3rd world country of Chicago.
Here's Obama's foreign policy in action. Down play anything damaging, don't make any decisive moves, and hope nothing too bad will happen.
Here is the result. Four murdered Americans with a President belittling the situation as "bumps in the road". No one in the Obama administration seems to know what to do or say. They are groping for a reasonable explanation for their failure. The White House Press Secretary actually told a bold face lie to save face and every reporter in the room new it.
Yet this story is a minor font sized blip on MSNBC...the reason is they too see there is no way to save their President in this mess of a situation - so ignore it...
The President needs to come clean on this one and speak to the American people himself in the name of transparency that he promised. Was deliberately misleading the American people a political ploy or was is a matter of administration incompetence? The facts are in. There is no need to wait any longer on this one. It is the President who should be testifying.
Oh, Jesus, I think if the President had to answer to every Darryl Issa manufactured conspiracy he'd not have time to actually run the country which is what he is doing and he's doing just fine.
Next week, this news will have vanished from the front pages because of two things: #1, the putzes have openly admitted in front of the public that THEY CUT THE @!$%#ING FUNDING for security in Libya, and #2, the putzes have OUTED THE CIA ON NATIONAL TELEVISION and caused a serious security breach all of their own.
So, enjoy your fiery, rightwing outrage today because tomorrow this will all be gone in a haze. Issa once again tried to make a mountain out of a molehill, tried to write a narrative of horse@!$%#, and @!$%#ed up so badly that he may have actually caused more damage with his hearings.
So, next week you will have a different outrage being spoon-fed to you by the whoremasters at Fox News, and you'll be shrieking about some completely different subject.
Thisbussymonster, thank you for reading my post and commenting. This is not a Darryl Isa manufactured conspiracy. The administration has deliberately tried to mislead the people. The President is not now really running the country, he is running for reelection. What we the people want to know, was the administration's attempt to mislead the American people a matter of incompetence or did the orders come from the top. Apparently the Us intelligence community always knew that this was a terrorist attack. So who invented the alternative explanation?
"For me, the Taliban is on the inside of the building," he said.
Holy Cow. Is that an indictment or what?
If all of us, and I mean all of us, aren't asking the question "How can this happen?" well then something is terribly wrong.
Flip flop ROmney
1. It's a tax! There wasn't much for Republicans to love in the Supreme Court's ruling that Obamacare is constitutional, except that they concluded the individual mandate is, for constitutional purposes (but not for others), a tax. The soundbites write themselves. Republicans can now brand Obama as raising taxes on the middle class, or, if they're feeling particularly blustery, "the biggest tax increase in the history of the world." But ABC News' Michael Falcone pulls up video from a January 2008 Republican presidential primary debate in which Romney seems to think such a tax is pretty great. When the debate moderator asks, "Governor … you imposed tax penalties in Massachusetts?" Romney defends the mandate by framing it terms of personal responsibility. "Yes, we said, look, if people can afford to buy it, either buy the insurance or pay your own way," he said. "Don’t be free-riders."

2. It's "ultimate conservatism." In 2007, Romney said that when the uninsured show up in emergency rooms and get free health care, that's a "form of socialism." By contrast, his health care law was conservative and inspired by the Heritage Foundation, something that is true and that the Heritage Foundation would probably like people to forget.
RELATED: Romney Was Once Proud to Be a Washington Insider
RELATED: The New Romneycare Is Very Different from the Old Romneycare
Romney said a version of this multiple times. In January 2008, he told Fox News Sunday, "I think it's the ultimate conservative plan." Last year, Romney also said his law was based on "fundamentally a conservative principle."
3. It's a good national model. Romney boasted that Congress and the President could learn a lot about health care reform from his Massachusetts plan during an interview with CNN in 2009, "I think there are a number of features in the Massachusetts plan that could inform Washington on ways to improve health care for all Americans," he said "The fact that we were able to get people insured without a government option is a model I think they can learn from." Start at 1:05 and note the lack of concern about constitutional issues.
4. It's humane. When Romney left office in 2007, his staff erased his office's emails from a server computer in an attempt to wipe them from the public record. But earlier this month, The Wall Street Journal found a few survivors, including Romney's own early drafts of his April 2006 Journal op-ed about the passage of Romneycare. Romney used language that would surely irritate many conservatives, and it was toned down when eventually published. Nevertheless, Romney's original thoughts are preserved forever:
dal - deflect much? Bad one at that. Your post has absolutely nothing to do with the article. I see Fisty, Bev, Seeking, Outhouse, Dennis, Pat and the rest taught you well
Wow. Four dead Americans- and the best you can do is some lame deflection?
Those plaid skies must be raining down some crud not seen in the real world.
Lame. Just totally, abjectly, lame.
Like your idol.
@dal - The desperation in your wildly off-topic drivel is beyond comical.
Accidents happen...don't read too much into them...condolences to families of victims ... but can you really blame the administration for all these??

Don't forget that Libya has rid of Mommar Cadaver and the administration should take credit.

The facts are that the consulate in Benghazi failed to meet the minimal structural standards established by the US State Department. Who waived those standards?
The facts are that on September 12th, there were conflicting intelligence reports as to what actually took place on September 11th. Why did UN Ambassador Susan Rice go on 5 Sunday shows on September 16th and state that, "As of today (September 16th)...the facts were that the attack on Benghazi were related to the actions in Cairo which were in retaliation to a video. We now know this to be a lie as of the 12th of September and it was a lie on September 16th. It would have been more responsible to simply state that the matter is under investigation and we are still trying to sort out all of the facts. The questions are why send her out to perpetuate a known lie? Why was the UN Ambassador speaking instead of someone in the US State Department chain of command? Who from the administration directed Susan Rice to make the false statement?
The acts in Cairo weren't about the video either. The actions had been planned for September 11th for more than a week. They were led by the brother of an Al Qaeda member who was killed by a drone strike. Additionally, they were demanding the release of the Blind Sheik. During the attack in Cairo, there were chants stating that the US didn't kill Osama because they were all Osamas.
Why was it so important to insist that these attacks were all about a video?
If you listen to Secretary of State Clinton carefully, she does not state that the Benghazi attacks are related to a movie. She denounces the movie and denounces the attacks. There is a clear disconnect between the State Department and the administration. Why?
pigotry, you call that an accident? In that very violent part of the world extra security was asked for twice, in May and July and not granted. 2 security teams pulled out in August. Consulate had been bombed twice. Ambassador to Britain had 2 assasination attempts and they closed the consulate and left. You call that an accident? Seriously?
Then this video nonsense, when evidence shows they knew within 24 hours it was terrorism. Even 2 weeks later BO peddled "video"at the UN when it was clearly obvious to anyone remotely paying attention it was terrorism. Makes me wonder what the heck is going on at the white house and state dept to mess something up like this and then try to cover it up. And not do it very well at that.
dal...
How does Obamcare have a single thing to do with the problems in Libya ??? Are you one of those "high information" voters on this site that the Newsviners keep referencing ???
You people are simply amazing !!!
If there was a planned attack by terrorists on the American consulate in Libya On Sept.11, wonder why no one has even mentioned, that such would be a colossal failure by the CIA? Why has no one pointed at CIA director "David Petraeus? Maybe because He's a republican? That just wouldn't do would It? No substance to your accusations. Hounds howling at the moon.
@MacForrester: At this stage in the game, everyone is admitting that it was a terrorist attack. I don't think it would be a colossal failure if US intelligence was unaware of a planned attack on the Benghazi consulate on September 11th.
The problem goes beyond the security failures. The problem is that this was a US Ambassador and three other Americans who were killed at a consulate. The testimony is that the State Department's position is the attack had nothing to do with a video. They testified that they knew "in real time" that there were no demonstrations outside of the Benghazi consulate. If the State Department knew this, why did UN Ambassador Susan Rice lie? Why was Susan Rice speaking instead of someone from the State Department?
@dave20121#2.14:Susan Rice did not lie. I heard Her. She said, according to information, the video was the cause, but that could change as more information was revealed. People like you totally jumped the gun on this one. Additionally, Mr. Stevens and the other 3 people were at a remote Consulate in benghazi, not the Embassy in Tripoli. Republicans need to quit building turd towers and calling 'em light houses, especially at the expense of the dead and their families. Unseemly!
@MacForrester: Really??? Susan Rice stated, as of today (September 16th) the attack on the Benghazi consulate was an escalation of demonstrations related to the video and not a preplanned or pre meditated attack. If you have never served in the military (specifically, combat arms) I can excuse you for not noticing the overwhelming evidence that contradicts that statement. But, even without that, the administration knew within 24 hours that they had information that was in conflict to what Susan Rice stated.
Furthermore, I am fully aware that the attack occurred in Benghazi and that it is a "distance" from the embassy in Tripoli. However, it does not take away from the fact that both facilities fail to meet the structural standards established for facilities being used for US State Department operations. It is beyond a refutable point.
At the very least, Susan Rice misled the American public. if she didn't know that she was misleading the American public, she is by far one of the most ignorant representatives that this administration could have had.
There was no reason to mislead the American public or the families of the 4 dead Americans. It is evident that, at best, the information that existed on Sunday following the attacks, conflicted with the version that Susan Rice presented as fact. Why?
Also, you failed to provide an explanation as to why someone outside of the US State Department was representing the administration on the Sunday news talk show circuit.
Seems like he's feeling what we're all feeling with Congress right now!
Obama/Biden 2012
So Layton, are you saying that Congress is basically just a terrorist goup?
Layton - Get your left wing head out of the sand. Congress had nothing to do with this. This blunder is strictly on Obama and his Secretary of State. They screwed up and then tried a cover up, and got caught in one lie leading to more lies. Obama was more concerned about getting to a campaign fund raiser in Las Vegas than the death of our Ambassador and 3 other Americans.
What is the President talking about on the campaign stump, "Big Bird". This is only the 2d Ambassador killed, the first under President Carter. Obama and his whole administration has LIED about this tragedy. I am really surprised that the left hasn't tried to blame President Bush, like they always do.
“You know what makes most frustrating about this assignment?” Nordstrom asked rhetorically, “It's not the hardships, it's not the gunfire, it's not the threats — it's dealing and fighting against the people and programs personnel who are supposed to be supporting me."
What I'm saying WCA is that Congress voted to NOT supply more security for the embassies. That little idiot from my State is making this an issue and for all of you RWingers to go all ballistic on the President, maybe you should look at the asses that you voted for that are in Congress that sad no to more security.
http://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/10/rep-chaffetz-says-he-absolutely-cut-funding-for-embassy-security/
For those of you that can't seem to follow links ... here's an excerpt from the link I posted above ...
Later in the interview, CNN Anchor Soledad O’Brien asks, “Is it true that you voted to cut the funding for embassy security?”
And that in a NUTSHELL is the "Taliban" in Congress. Seeking to dismantle what this Country is and stands for.
Obama/Biden 2012
Romney can not wait to make a political platform from out dead Americans. Sad
Obama 2012
Romney 1040
Thank you for the jobs Obama
Layton, see my comment above @ #1.13. You can't blame this on cuts. It is a truest form of lack of leadership. Something we have seen over and over again with this administration/
Romney comes WITH NO LEADERSHIP. Romney would kill us. He is a wimp
Obama is a wimp and I swear, if you come back with that "he got Bin Laden" BS I will ............. expect it.
Layton - To blame Congress for cutting funds for Embassy Security is really stupid. The State Department has a budget of around 40 to 50 billion. They can take money from one program and spend it on another program. Further, if there wasn't enough security then why in the hell was the Ambassador and other there. When you ask for more and it is denied then it is time to get the hell out. Besides, it was an agreement with the Libyan government that we would not use Marines for security and would hire local security. Every Embassy, to my knowledge, has always had Marine guards. Now our State Department admits they agreed not to use Marines in Libya. BTW, one of the local guards hired was in on the attack.
The cutting of funds had nothing to do with the attack. Quit listening to the left wing talking points. This is strictly on Obama and the State Department.
Poor Layton. Doesn't understand how budgets work.
Let me explain-
Suppose you had a sumof money- say, a thousand dollars. You need to allocate that money. So, three hundred for utilities, four hundred for mortgage, another two hundred for food.
So, Layton, you have a hundred bucks! Now, do you use that money to get a plumber in to fix the leaky pipes- or do you spend it on a nice steak dinner?
Pssst- Obama chose option two.
Maybe the security forces in- I don't know, Canada?- could have been cut, rather than Libya?
Maybe you will recover your ability to reason in December, when Obama sails off for Hawaii?
Hey, Layton, they testified in the hearing that the budget had nothing to do with their decision to deny security...so do you know why the security was denied? I'm sure you can find a copy of the hearing if you care to listen.
PS
I had to comment here because there is no reply button on your other comment.
Democrats argued Republicans shouldn’t be advocating for increased security in foreign countries when they have voted in the past years to cut funding for just that. The only problem is that while 147 Republicans voted to cut that funding, 149 Democrats voted to do the same.
Yet, they testified otherwise, that the budget had nothing to do with their decision not to give them security...so do you why they didn't?
TT
I was responding to a post blaming republicans for the cuts to funding. I know why they didn't. Obama's administration is inept.
@Layton-3733410 - Remember: Obama intervened in Libya, stating that he didn't need "congressional approval" to do so.
No one asked for this.
For all of you blaming ... good hell! Yes there is blame to go around and I would DEFINITELY start with Congress sitting on their big fat asses and not PASSING anything and then making this an issue. You all seem to think the President is the ONLY branch of this government! Wake your butts up! Read! Congress definitely stated that more security was NOT needed when asked and now everything is the President's fault?
Nice spin and nice try. I so hope Ryan brings this up tomorrow night and that the Vice President can ask him about HIS vote. Good hell people!
Obama/Biden 2012
tinker/thinker ..
Hindsight is so 20/20 in the Republican world ....
Hey Layton, again like all good followers of the Church of Fisty, Congress did act. 149 Dems with 147 GOP voted to cut the funding. What don't you understand? No one said anything about the president. The administration is the problem. If Obama didn't know it it was because the people didn't want to tell the "emperor" he wasn't wearing any clothes.
Jane?Doe is correct.
December 16, 2011 Roll call number 941 in the House On Agreeing to the Conference Report: H R 2055 Making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2012, and for other purposes:

Obama/Biden 2012
And by the by all of you snarky little name callers ... could you ever post a LINK to support your BS? I would so like to read it! If you can't just stamp the word "sheeple brethren" on your back and go follow your new flip flop savior.
Layton, Obama managed to "expedite" $535 in loans to Solyndra. He can "find"money when it suits his purpose. He has used executive privilege like a man with a bad case of diarrhea going through toilet paper ! No excuses for this failure to provide adequate security are justifiable !!
The building they were in did not meet normal safety standards. Requests for more security were denied ! Security forces were actually reduced !!
It doesn't matter HOW you try to alibi for this administration ... they are either guilty of gross negligence or massive stupidity of biblical proportions !!! Take your pick !!!!
Then, they try to COVER UP THE TRUTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on, this is Obama, so blame, excuses, and spin are the norm. Liberals would screaming cover up if this were a republican administration. There would be calls for accountability and resignations. But this is an Obama failure, so liberals turn to blame, excuses, and spin.
No jo at 3.11:
Your comparison is laughable, as expected. Where did your 'steak dinner' come from?
How about making the decision to fix the leaky pipes or put gas in the car to get to work. If you don't work you can't pay to repair the pipes, so you jury-rig something to lessen the leak until you can pay for repairs.
As to what really happened - The budget was cut, so you expect your personnel to make good decisions based on that non-availability. In this case, it meant reduced security, so you expect someone of above average intelligence to correctly assess the risk. Stevens made a bad decision. He went somewhere he should not have gone at the wrong time.
All the allegations of lies and coverup are meaningless when you look at what led up to the event. Budget cuts mean less security, which means Ambassadors make decision based on less security, which means Stevens should not have been in Benghazi.
It is painfully obvious that you didn't watch the hearings and are only parroting a lie posted by the democrats. The facts have been posted, the democrats voted right in lockstep re the cuts AND had you watched the hearing you would have know that there was a general named Hague who stated that he could get the consulate their security, no need to mess with Clinton's and Obama's politicking.
dal...
Are you inferring that Mr. Obama possesses leadreship skills ??? What has he 'led' anyone to or anything on ???

He said nothing wrong...and another navy seal widow came out and said it was an honor. Quit grasping at straws! LOL Big Bird told obama not to use him either.
Thats right, start warming up the Hillary insults, you will need them in 4 years when she is our next president. Pretty lame though, even your repub overlords recognize she has done a good job , Of course no one will ever compare to the last foriegn policy gurus, Rice and Cheney
She has done a good job up to now, according to Condoleeza Rice. The real question remains however ...... "Who started with the lies, the distortions and the intended cover-up ? Is Hillary responsible, or does it go to the White House ??
If anyone, and I do mean anyone is held accountable for this avoidable tragedy, it will not be Hillary Clinton. If someone is to be the fall guy, it will be with the promises of lavish perks and benefits for taking the heat. But Hillary has her eye on the 2016 election, and nothing is going to stand in her way.
The thing is, it was Hillary's State Department and the Obama administration that are ultimately responsible for the safety of our embassies and consulates. as a result I think that her political career is over - as a result of this debacle.
Tammy...
The media will be having a very difficult time trying to find someone else to blame for the mess in Libya and the attempted cover up that took place afterward.
I would like to see Mr. Obama's little speech at the United Nations conference...what was it, two weeks after the terrorist attack on our embassy...in front of all those tinpot Middle Eastern dictators, our President profusely apologized for a goofy YouTube video that hardly anyone on the planet has even seen. He wanted to assure them that the US government had nothing to do with the making of a fuzzy YouTube clip.
What is coming out now is that back in early September, very few people even in the Middle East ahd seen the clip...until the President, Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton, and White House Spokesdroid kept repeating and repeating their baloney about the YouTube clip.
I'm thinking that these folks did such a fantastic job promoting some stupid little video, that if they get booted out of the White House in November, they should head to Hollywood and sell their services turning lousy little direct-to-dvd movies into Oscar worthy feature films.
In response to the consulate attack, the president said, "The United States is a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others."
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said the Libya attack was "spontaneous" and started with the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, over an anti-Islamic film.
The staff of the Cairo embassy, … condemned the film and the "continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions."
Democratic strategist Kirsten Powers said "the question now is whether the Obama administration lied, or is clueless." She acknowledged neither is a great scenario.
I go with the "Obama is clueless" theory.

And yet another deflect from dal. Why don't you just read and try to have an original, coherent thought on your own? I know it's tough to read and see your team get its butt kicked but you are letting down the Lib Team by posting your drivel. Perhaps you should wait until Fisty wakes up from the stupor and can come to your rescue.
I read dal's posts for several months and didn't find a single one with true facts – or even mildly interesting lies. They were all just an irritating distraction from the meaningful posts. Consequently, i placed him on Ignore!

I am surprised that MSNBS is even running this story! I mean, geez, we got abortions to talk about. To me, Hussein better start packing those bags. He is finished. Lying about this is BIG. Rice, Carney, Colonel Clinton, and Hussein tried to cover up the Libyan Massacre. This will not go away. Bet Chris Stevens and the three other Americans murdered were at least glad that Valerie Jarrett got plenty of protection attending a wedding.

Ain't 'dal' a peach ??? I guess the problem and coverup in Libya must have something to do with Bain Capital...the company the Dem's favorite son, Bill Clinton, described a couple months back as having a "sterling reputation"...but it's not sterling enough for 'dal'.
Speaking of enormously successful companies with 'sterling' reputations...can you even imagine in your strangest dreams, Barack Obama running a business ??? Now that's a funny thought !
This headline is cute, it also means, Obama lied his ass off, and is still lying about it.

In his complaint, Karger lays out a chronology of Romney's real estate moves since his failed presidential bid in 2008. According to Karger's timetable, Romney and his wife, Ann, bought a $12.5 million home in La Jolla, California, in May 2008. ("I wanted to be where I could hear the waves," Romney told the AP of his move to the West Coast.) Thereafter, Romney became a regular at California political events, even campaigning for Meg Whitman during her gubernatorial bid. A year later, in April 2009, the Romneys sold their home in Belmont, Massachusetts, for $3.5 million, and registered to vote from an address in the basement of an 8,000 square-foot Belmont manse owned by their son Tagg. But where the Romneys really lived these past couple of years seems to be a bit of a mystery. While Romney was appearing at so many California political events people were speculating he was going to run for office there, the National Journal reported in May 2009 that the Romneys had made their primary residence a $10 million estate in New Hampshire.
The discrepancies in the news coverage prompted Karger to take a closer look, in part because he found it dubious that a guy worth $500 million would really be living in his son's basement.
Barack Hussein Obama....Why are you waring a ring that states..."There is no God but Allah?"

(CNSNews.com)- During last night’s Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas, Nev., former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney admitted that a lawn company he had used hired illegal immigrants and that when he found out he told the company it could not have illegal aliens working on his property because he was running for office.
And yet another deflect. If this wasn't so hillarious it would be boring. Come to think of it, it is getting boring. dal, please stop. You are losing credibility with every moronic deflection you post.

Same director should do one on 'dal'...starring Bill Murray as a guy who simply cannot stay on any given topic, no matter where he goes or what is being said.
Mr. Murray may still have an outside shot at an Oscar with that role !!!
Hillary Clinton....RESIGN Now.
Wow. The misognysts are out in force tonight.
So, JOEY, you going to demand the resignation of those Republicans that chose vote against money for those embassies?
Nope, that would make far too much sense.
Your post at 1.4, reported.
*** Romney admits he’s been audited by the IRS: Romney made some other -- call it accidental -- news yesterday in his interview with ABC. He mentioned he had been audited by the IRS. From time to time I’ve been audited, as happens I think to other citizens as well…

Obama 2012
Romney 1040
Thank you for the jobs Obama
What jobs are they dal? You on Obummers payroll for the crap you post.
Jobs? Dal please continue the lies about Romney, please. It worked so well when your dear leader got called out on all the lies he has told. If you listen to the libs, Romney will come out for the next debate and just kill old people, women, minorities, and all of the other groups that you have separated, right on the the stage. And when he doesn't you will call him a flip flopper for not killing them.
Wow. 8 blanks (ignored comments) in a row. (4-11). That's a record!
It seems that trolls run in packs!
The next presidential debate is about foreign policy. Wonder if Obama will bring Rice, Carney, and Colonel Clinton on stage to defend his handling of the Libyan Massacre. LIARS, each and every one of them.

Romney: ‘I’m Running For Office for Pete’s Sake, I Can’t Have Illegals’

(CNSNews.com)- During last night’s Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas, Nev., former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney admitted that a lawn company he had used hired illegal immigrants and that when he found out he told the company it could not have illegal aliens working on his property because he was running for office.
Joe...
Maybe it's time that Admiral Sandra Fluke comes forward again to help the President deal with his current troubles...perhaps the Libyans just went crazy because US taxpayers were not covering the co-pays for Libyan womens' contraceptives.
In other words, the democrats are looking for a scapegoat to pin this debacle on.
There aren't any!
Obama disobeyed the War Powers Act to send armament into Libya to help the 'rebels'.
It later turns out that the 'rebels' have very close ties with al'Qaida and that al'Qaida is responsible for many of the 230 attacks this year - including the one that sodomized and killed our ambassador and his guard. No blame can be attached to the dead (although I'm sure Obama would like to be able to). as the requests for help were ignored by the State Department and the Obama administration.
I want to see how Obama tries to get out of explaining this at the foreign policy debate next week.

Dal: Little fella, you are not real good at deflecting from Obama's lies. Now, I know it hurts and you want to do all you can to protect the ineptitude of Obama and his administration, but no matter how you try, another leak keeps springing out of the dam. Nice try though, albeit boring and predictable.
Where is your information on Obama's culpability? Don't want the truth? Can't say I blame you, except that Obama's lies and coverups are about people killed under his watch. Guess you don't care about that.
mygirl...
I don't even think 'dal' is trying to deflect anything from Mr. Obama or his current troubles. The posts are seemingly coming from some 'bizarro planet' and have nothing to do with anything else written here.
Don't bother trying to get answers...'dal' will likely start writing about 'Watergate' or the 'Scopes' trial...or something even further out in space.
Think you're onto something.
Lies are all the Obama koolaiders know or believe in...this time they got caught and I hope heads will roll for the damage done and people murdered!

“He shouldn’t make my son’s death part of his political agenda. It’s wrong to use these brave young men, who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama,” said Barbara Doherty, the mother of the slain Navy SEAL Glen Doherty.
She added, “I don’t trust Romney.”
In a separate interview with a Seattle radio station a friend of Doherty’s, Elf Ellefsen, recalled hearing Doherty talk about his encounter with Romney in less-than-glowing terms.
“He said it was very comical,” Ellefsen said in an interview with radio station KIRO. “Mitt Romney approached him ultimately four times, using this private gathering as a political venture to further his image. He kept introducing himself as Mitt Romney, a political figure. The same introduction, the same opening line. Glen believed it to be very insincere and stale.”

My hope is that they get to the bottom of this and of course in a bipartisan way.Yes,I know I am dreaming, but stranger things have happened. No one here should be jumping to ANY conclusions before all the facts are known.Gotta love Glen's mother-She is right on in what she says.Romney of course will use any trick in the book to get elected. My husband met Glenn while he was a Navy Seal.Jim was shipping out and Glenn was coming in.My husband stated to me that he is surprised that is all she said.According to Glenn, his mother is a tough lady and does not mince words. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all that died there.
Yes Obama is playing politics and it's criminal.
Ummm,no he is not at all.You blame him without all the facts, period. And what will you say if it comes out that Obama was not covering anything up ??? Oh,that's right you will say it's a lie but everything out of a Repubs mouth is gospel.WAIT FOR THE FACTS !!
some..., on the scale of the last 40 years this screw-up is microscopic. Watergate, Iran-Contragate, post Mujadeen-Russia-Afgan failures, 9/11, WMDs, Iraq, Afghanistan and on and on with classified screw ups. You want some REAL Criminals try Bush Sr., Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bush Jr. and Karl Rove.
Maria- news flash- none of this had anything whatsoever to do with an amateur video.
Zip. Zilch. Nada.
So, Obama lied to the American public, and continued lying to the world, until he had publicized it so much that there was, in fact, violence related to the video- at Obama's instigation!
Moreover, of Obama did not know the truth, it was because he was deselect in his duties to attend intelligence briefings- a little fact that became known just days before these attacks, (talk about coincidence!).
So, pu just go on chanting "yes we can" and "hope for change" and all the other cult nonsense.
Then get ready to wave "aloha" to your idol, who will forget all about you.
Facts are Maria, even the head of "state" (if you can call it that) in Libya said two or three days after that it was a terrorist attack not a spontaneous action. Do you just read FR and take it as gospel? It was all over the news, at least those who dared to question the messiah. Yes, it was on more than FOX. Look it up.
Maria,
Thank you for your realistic post.
There are three investigations going on right now about the security, the Libyans responses, and the tracking of the group that killed the Embassy personnel.
The leadership and the members of the intelligence committees have been briefed and will continue to get updates.
Now while all of Congress is in recess, Rep Issa has decided that this week is the time to hold hearings. This grandstanding will not produce the details and answers that are needed to lead to any change in security of our embassies and personnel.
All you posters that think you are experts in any of these areas are just the same old posters that show up in the evenings for your fun and games.
Maria, I too will wait for all the FACTS.
no joe..., have you been voted off the Island? Should have been a long time ago.
I like Feistey. The redhead is living proof that the mentally challenged, like monkeys, can be taught to use a communications device. I think it's really Biden.
lol, you call people mentally challenged, and say they are like monkeys when you just mis-spelled Feisty, and are yourself a zombie Obama monkey.
Hey cunical, you want to see mentally challanged, look in the mirror, I thought so. LMAO
The government-State Department (Clinton) needs to protect our embassies. That is their job and no one else. H. Clinton should take the direct blame for the death of our Libyan Staff. Indirectly, as the boss of Hillary the president is to blame for the death of our staff in Libya.
Forget politics and stupid issues. Politics has normally been set aside when it comes to protecting and safeguarding the lives of Americans. That is clearing not the case when it come to this government. GETTING ELECTED IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN TAKING CARE OF OUR COUNTRY AND OUR CITIZENS. Obama and H. Clinton could have done the follow to support our staff in Libya.
1) Tell the Libyans we will only have an embassy protected by marines and not local hired security. Otherwise pull our people out.
2) If you decide it is ok to hire local security have a backup plan to respond quickly to attempt to save our staff.
3) Do not lie about what happened at the Libyan embassy. How can you fix something if you lie about it and pretend the terrorist attack never happened?
All other issues aside. Please do everything you can to remove this president and the politicmens people around him.
I am done. Vote for Mitt.
Not a chance I will vote for the biggest liar and flip flopper-No way in hell !!
So Maria, you can have that cute little girl picture as your avatar (assuming it is a daughter or maybe grandchild, not sure as I know you not) and still stay on the Obama train. Guess you just don't see the future. Suggest you take off the rose colored glasses and be able to look her in the eye and say "you will have a better life than I had" and really mean it. Your blind following of the direction Obama is leading this country sends a much different message.
USAF61(50,51, etc.) is back, and wouldn't know a criminal if they didn't have a gun pointed at he/she's head. The only justice you would be capable of is Vigilante Justice.
funny he is USAF44 on the other page. I guess he doesn't know that as of this past Summer the Congress passed a law making it a federal offense and a felony to impersonate a military personnel?
Can you say Congress is "fiddling" while the country collapses? Congress on both sides voted against financing for the State Department security and now are trying to blame the president? Give me a break?
He had warning a terrorist attack was imminent. He could have ordered the ambassador home. He could have moved them to a safer spot until after 9/11. He refused to do anything because it would interfere with his campaign.
They won't attack our embassy, they love me. I'm Barack Obama, for christ's sake!
Simple, If congress (repubs and dems) cut State Department Funding to the point not allowing us to protect our people just close the embassy. Tell congress restore our ability to do our job and we will re-open the embassy.
However, It is very unlikely with the money we spend at the state department we could not find funds for our military to protect this embassy.
There is no blame. I voted for Obama in 2008 and hoped for a better leader. The state department is to blame and the leader of the state department was selected by the president. All leaders are responsible for the people that work for them. That is leadership...
DougInWash...........
It came out in the hearing today where the woman in the State Dept. that nixed the requested security admitted that the denial was NOT due to budget considerations. That can only mean it was for political points for Obama who "hoped" that we could keep a low profile to instill confidence that Al Queda and their wannabes were no longer a threat in the world now that HE had killed Bin Laden.
Keep in mind. A month earlier, in August, Hillary Clinton's State Department REMOVED two security teams from Benghazi. Ambassador Stevens pleaded for them NOT to do that.....and later requested they be replaced. Request denied.
So much for Obama's foreign policy credentials. In debate and in his actions, he has proven that we did indeed elect him because he was black and likeable.
Blaming this on congress is missing the point. Congress (both sides) do stupid things all the time. But the State Dept had numerous warnings that there was trouble afoot, and they ignored them. Now a fine ambassador and three very brave men are dead.
But this is only partially about official stupidity. The bigger issue is about the coverup. The President and his State Dept minions, probably at his personal direction, tried to flim-flam the country for several weeks, dishonoring his obligations to the four men who died and the American people.
What a discrace!
You convict without all the facts, typical for Repubs. And just who was it that voted against more money to go to the embassies for more protection ??? It wasn't Obama or the Democrats.
Maria I'll convict that friggen moron Barack Oblumbler as a fraud and a LIAR that should be impeached and indicted for getting Americans killed in this Country by his selling assault weapons to Mexican scumbags drug dealers and got our people killed in Libya because thanks to him No ONe in this World respects us anymore!
MARIA WHERE WAS THE SECURITY WHERE WAS THE SECURITY?????
Go back to your babydolls and crayons and let the adults discuss Oblumbler's latest failure, you child.
You know the Libyan Regional Security officer did not file an official request for additional security right?
Do YOU know your moron and his side kick Joe the Dumber are going to be adding their incompetent asses to the unenemployment rolls after November's election?
Wow Maria.....Do you have any semblance of an open mind. Look at the facts. If you were a republican, you would still be defending Nixon saying he didn't lie.
USAF61: I got it now!! You are the right wing court jester who comes in to clown while the other flying monkees try to score points. So whatever you say is just a big steaming pile of laughcrap! Thanks for the hilarity usaf61. When you're done say hi to your kids on the way back to your room in the basement.
Re-elect....Nice try, but it was requested through other channels. Even Pelosi admits that.
Maria:
The article:
Don't you all read the articles before you post your comments?
There are plenty of facts on this kid, people on the ground, it has been blatantly manipulated. Yeah, I know disillusionment sucks!
Maria..............Check your facts. More dems voted against that funding than repubs. But it's a moot point anyway. In today's hearing the State Dept spokeswoman confirmed that the denial of the request security forces had nothing to do with their budget.
Maria: You obviously have not been reading the latest information on the Libyan Embassy attacks. Go back and read so you can make informed statements because everything you're posting is not true.
How long before we can get rid of this skinny assed no brain moron who's getting our people killed???? Vote this incompetent Communist out of our White House!!!
Obama/Big Bird 2012!
Because serious Times call for serious leaders
bob: and you are referring to ... yourself? You may have delusions of being in the white house but I don't think anyone is buying it
