Obama says he was 'too polite' toward Romney in first debate

President Barack Obama engaged in some post-debate self-analysis Wednesday morning, saying on a radio show that he thought he was “too polite” during last week’s debate with Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Speaking on the "Tom Joyner Morning Show," President Obama says "I was just too polite" and that voters should expect "a little more activity" next week in the second debate. Msnbc's Tamron Hall reports.

“I think it’s fair to say I was just too polite," the president said when asked about his first debate performance during an interview on the Tom Joyner radio show. "The good news is, is that’s just the first one."

Obama assured Joyner: “I think it’s fair to say that we will see a little more activity at the next [debate],” without getting any more specific about what kind of activity he meant.

Recommended: First Thoughts: The pressure is on

Consistent with the expectations game his campaign played in the days leading up to the debate, Obama said that despite Romney’s frequent “mistakes” on the trail, the president and his team understood that the campaign would never “end up being a cakewalk.”

But he maintained that “we’ve got a lead,” despite polls showing Romney gaining on Obama with a post-debate bounce. He likened his position in the race to a basketball team that just lost the third game in a best-of-seven series.

“You know, you have a seven game series, we’re up two zero and we lose one,” Obama said.

But Joyner didn’t seem to buy that analogy.

Former House Speaker and Illinois Republican Congressman Dennis Hastert joins The Daily Rundown to talk about Mitt Romney's campaign.

“Yeah, but you had the open shot and you didn’t take it,” he interjected.

“Yeah, I understand, but you know, what happens though is that when people lose one game, you know, this is a long haul,” Obama responded.

Obama also emphasized his hopes for Thursday’s vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Republican nominee Paul Ryan. While VP debates aren’t usually as highly-anticipated as presidential ones, Biden has faced increased pressure to make up for Obama’s less-than-stellar performance, while Ryan’s appearance will be his first foray on a national debate stage.

“Biden I think will be terrific in the debate,” Obama said, not trying to manage expectations as his campaign did with his first debate performance.

Towards the end of the interview, Obama sought to assure listeners that he was still confident, alluding to an internet meme that features him: “As some of these emails that go around with my picture on them say, I can’t quote the entire thing, but ‘I got this.'"

“I think it’s fair to say I was just too polite,"

Is that ever an understatement!

Then again, who could of ever imagined Willard's strategy would be to come out on stage and LIE directly to the faces of 67 million Americans!

I've always known Willard was a scumbag but I never thought he would go that low!

Nothing surprises me anymore...

The GOP plan was to shut down the opposition by:

Rolling out a series of BIG, BIG lies and etchasketches.

With no time to respond.

Bully the ref.

Run out the clock.

Try to pin the GOP candidate's lies on the President.

Get the media on board, and keep Romney's lies unexposed.

GOP never intended this to be a debate - just a series of unchalleneged lies.

With no time to respond, and run out the clock.

And that is why Obama spoke for four minutes longer than Romney. Even with that, Barry just didn't have the time to get his propaganda, ehh, message out.

Source: http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/03/politics/debate-main/index.html

Speaking of big lies, how are things going at the Benganzi hearings?

gee i thought it was polite to look at someone when speaking to them

Barry was too busy taking notes to look at Romney. When Romney was speaking, Barry was writing "That makes sense" and "I wasn't told they would be asking questions" and "Good answer" and "He's got me on that one" and "I agree with that" and "I knew I'd foul that answer up" and "Wow, this guy knows what he's talking about".

GOP/Rove wanted the President to react for them.

Instead, he presented his own positive plans for the future of the middle class.

When someone just stands up there and lies, and keeps lying. Then attacks and accuses.

THAT IS NOT A DEBATE.

LIE AFTER LIE, AFTER BLAME AND ACCUSE. How will you respond in a few minutes? What time is left to present the Truth?

LOOK AROUND! GOP/ROVE is using the same strategy all over the country.

Obama, was too polite... which I don't know why he would be polite about someone who deliberately LIED constantly during the debate.... and I'm ashamed of the media letting it slide.

Romney outright lied on tonnes of occasion during the debate.... and Obama didn't call him out on it... that's f-ed up the president's side. Obama needs to learn that you can not be presidential in a debate, especially when debating a snake oil sales man like Romney.

For republican's out there.. Romney lied..

He said the president doubled the deficit.. complete lie

He said he wasn't for reducing taxes for the wealthy, complete lie...

Obama said Romney was advocating a $5trillion tax cuts...and hasn't specified how he'd pay for it... Romney lied saying he didn't propose such a thing.... on his website, he still says that he'd cut 20% across the board. Anybody that knows simply arithmetic knows that's $5trillion - And he has not specified how he'd pay for it.

LIES LIES LIES... I can't imagine how the American' people can be so DUMB to believe his lies... do a little research for Christ sake.

And lastly how do you debate someone who lies??? you can't predict the next word out of his mouth...its ever changing to fit his audience.

Too stunned, is more like it. Anyone with a command of facts had to be absolutely flabbergasted by the non-stop torrent of lies coming from Romney.

That Romney can look at an electorate and spew total falsehoods should be a shock of incredible magnitude. What's even more shocking however, is to listen to Romney's low-intellect defenders saying, "Yeah, he lies. Is that all you got?"

David Walker thinks it was so easy just to command facts yet the smartest man in the room had no command. How is that? I think Romney prepped better, Obama was overconfident. Bad debate. Wonderful, competent president.

The town hall suits the president well. He is very good at one on one with people. He is well liked and respected and I think he will receive a good reception from Americans at the next debate.

I have never seen the president go down to the level of the Republicans. Ever.

I find it hard to believe that his advisers would have advised him to do that pre-debate. Now he's going to have to. It's not his comfort zone, but it sure as hell is Romney's.

Here's an example: The Obama Diary:

So Romney’s been using a new addition to his stump speech on Libya. He recalls that him and Ann met the ex-Seal that was one of the victims in the Benghazi attack. First, I figured this is way too convenient, someone musta reminded Romney that they met an then figures hey let’s put that in the stump speech. Well then a friend of the slain ex-Seal told a local radio show that he remembered the tale of the Romney meeting in a different light as told to him by his slain friend. Here’s the link to that story: http://t.co/qurUZo23

Well now this, the mother of the Seal has spoken out:
“Mother of killed former SEAL mentioned by Romney says “I don’t trust Romney”

______________

President Obama, don't trust Romney to tell the truth. Please.

OK liberals... if Romney lied what, 27 times in 33 minutes... where was Obama to discredit these lies? Are you telling me that Obama allowed Romney to lie this much in the space of 1/2 hour and said NOTHING? What does that say about Obama? Was he on another planet? Was he not paying attention? Was Obama on drugs? Or, is it all just made up by liberals that can't stand that their hero was put to shame? That makes more sense than anything else. If you disagree, tell me why Obama let that many lies slide without commenting on them... it wasn't because he was being polite... Romney wasn't... he called Obama out on the lies he was saying.

Obama said... someone showed up at the debate and he called himself Mitt Romney...

In otherwords, Obama was actually believing all the crap he has spewed out about Romney without ever expecting Romney to show up at the debate. I can't wait until the next presidential debate so Romney can clean up the mess he left on the floor during the last debate.

Romney and the CONS keep blaming Obama on the economy but fails to mention which policies are at fault.

Ok CONS, let's do some ARITHMETIC...

First,

Name the "Obama" POLICIES and the AMOUNTS that you say added trillions to the debt.

Next,

ADD the total amounts and DEDUCT from the current $16 TRILLION.

The balance = GOP spending.

Remember the following…

Expenses to FIX the GOP failed policies like TARP and the stimulus are still GOP spending and NOT Obama's fault so DO NOT count those policies.

All expenses from the previous GOP administration's unfunded policies that Obama added to his budget is also Republican spending.

INTEREST on the GOP TRILLIONS of debt is NOT for Obama to be responsible for either, it is GOP spending too. They own that interest.

Also,

The Bailouts are LOANS to "repair" more GOP screwed up policies, the GOP wanted those to be FREE of charge, a "going away gift" to the Banks and Wall Street, from Bush.

Do not add policies before Reagan because there was NO DEBT PROBLEM before that, Reagan took office when the debt had ONE TRILLION and could have been tackled and fixed with comprehensive tax reform but he did not.

Entitlements are a tiny fraction of the debt and they always bring their own revenues thru payroll deductions as premium payments. Entitlements are NOT free, it's paid into insurance.

Saying that the Democrats had a "majority" doesn't count either, because we all know the filibustering, obstructing, uncompromising, DO NOTHING GOP party of pledges to "NEVER bring revenues" has had the "CONTROL" and all those failed GOP policies were drafted by Republicans AND all those policies passed with GOP majorities of votes going back to Reagan.

The CONS will NEVER have policies or numbers to blame on the Democrats because they DO NOT exist. Look them up, I tried. Every single policy at fault are GOP owned, drafted and vigorously voted by them.

DO NOT get fooled into thinking it is Obama's or the Democrat's fault. It is time to stop that Myth.

Get ready. All you will get from the Republican Fox-Rush-bots is going to be more diversions and ridicules to change the subject, so be prepared for those.

This is NOT blaming the GOP or BUSH, this is ARITHMETIC !!!!

Labor Department says.. New job's fell (to lowest in 3 months) People losing their jobs (increased highest in 3 months) .. BUT unemployment fell ALSO !!

Next week the Lybia story will be long gone, because the bricks are starting to fall around the Unemployment Numbers.

92% of economists surveyed by Bloomberg NEWS said their prediction was an INCREASE in Unemployment,

now we see Labor department numbers that showed a shrinking hiring market, a increasing number getting pink slips (both at 3 month highs) but unemployment dipped just below 8%???? But the Labor dept pukes out these facts TODAY?? the DAY a Washington post op ed questioning the numbers by the Former head of GE (who owns MSNBC) ..

I bet the Labor department is about to come clean.. its going to be a REALLY sh1tty week for Obama.. (only 22 days left!)

A liberal definition of a Romney Lie. Whenever Romney does not agree with what President Obama says is the Romney position. I get a big kick out of the ObaMANIACS on this message board who tow their party's line that Romney's a liar, and Obama is as pure as the driven snow.

That is so not true, it's just laughable.

The people who are LYING are the ones who were telling you Romney's economic plan would be paid for with a tax increase on the middle class; and that, his plan would increase the deficit by 5 trillion dollars.

The people who are LYING to you are the ones who said they'd close GITMO inside of two years.

The people whio are LYING to you are the ones who said thatUS gasoline production is at its highest level, ever.

The People who are LYINGto you are the ones who said in 2008 that "the jobs are shovel ready."

The people who areLYING to you are the ones who said they would cut the deficit in half within four years.

The people who are LYING to you are the ones who said they would stand with you in the picket line if your right to collective bargaining was taken away.

The people who are LYING to you are the ones who said they would take public financing for their campaign.

The people who are LYING to you are the ones who said they would have no lobbyists involved with their campaign, nor their administration, then turned around and approved billions of dollars worth of government-guaranteed loans to two of their largest campaign contributors.

The people who are LYING to you are BARRACK OBAMA and JOE BIDEN.

The reason Obama-Shama-Lama-Ding-Dongs are so mad about it is because Mitt Romney EXPOSED both of them as liars in the last debate.

Romney told the truth, and set the record straight. Obama and his lackeys have been LYING to you, for the last year, about Mitt's intentions, and his plan(s) .

They're angry because it's going to be more difficult for them to do that now.

Well, I'm looking for some good ol' fashioned SMACK DOWN next week when the President and the other guy go for round too.

You can do it Mr. President.

But there is good news and bad news in that formula I am sorry to say.

If the President smacks the Mitt out of Romney, the GOP donors will melt away faster than the polar ice-cap. That's good news because Romney's campaign will dry up as well.

But the bad news is those donors will re-deploy those funds to races down the ballot which will make re-taking the house virtually impossible and might even endanger the Senate majority.

The 'media' has done everything but cook this guy's dinners, wash his limo, and give him soothing neck massages since the day he announced his candidacy. And now, they need to get "on board" ???

Just go pick up ths week's edition of 'Time' magazine, for starters. Got mine in the mail yesterday and expected to read about a debate that I watched last week along with 67 million other interested viewers. Oooops ! "Time" nearly forgot about the debate, except for a couple of sentences placed in a long article about what Stupid Joe Biden needs to do in Thursday night's debate.

The magazine must have felt some pressure to at least mention the fact there had been a presidential debate. It was probably a last minute insertion...'Time' likely had a rousing edition already written about an Obama debate victory, but had to can the edition due to their 'Favorite Son's" pouty, lip-chewing performance.

Other than that...'Time' offered a couple of gushing letters about the nation's 'transformational' leader...a column on how everyone is wrong about the White House attempts to blame terrorist attacks on a 3 month old YouTube video that nobody saw...an intentional misrepresentation of complaints some have had with an '07 video of one of the former candidate's speeches where he began his little racial division issue...and the article about Stupid Joe's debate agenda needs.

"Get the media on board" ??? Are you kidding...the media is already sharing the Captain's Quarters.

skip,

Valid points. For that to happen, the president needs a decisive victory. Anything less than Romney crying like a girl and it would be viewed as a push, and Romney backers will keep the money flowing. The president has to play to win as opposed to playing not to lose - something he doesn't seem to be doing lately.

Boy, you make Forrest Gump look like a Rhodes Scholar. You know? Exposed? LOL. The only thing he exposed is the lack of backbone, brother.

Cesar,

Iran is presently seeing its oil exports plummet as is its currency. Iran holds elections next Spring. Its new President may take a new course. Israeli and other world leaders know this is possible.

Sanctions are working to hurt average Iranian citizen. There was a small riot last week in Tehran's main shopping district over higher prices resulting from Iran's currency devaluation.

Meanwhile, Iran's main friend in the world, Syria, is in the midst of a growing civil war.

Iran's situation continues to deteriorate. Russia holds key here and they will propose their own solution to nuclear program in Iran. Pressure from US will not help move Putin forward. He is his own man and he loves showing everyone that.

Our foreign policy there is working, but that does not guarantee success. Iran has to give up its nuclear weapons ambitions and submit to inspections of their peaceful use of nuclear to generate electricity.

Bushes final budget had a 1.4 trillion deficit.

Total debt over 10 trillion. Now at 16 trillion.

Romney lie = President Obama has doubled the deficit.

I am not sure which one you would like to defend, but give it a go.

The main problem with supporting Romney is you have no way of defending his positions because he will not tell you what they are. What few details he gives are constantly changing depending on the audience. This is a major character flaw. He ran as a moderate Republican in Massachusetts's, then vetoed over 800 bills of which over 700 were overridden. That is not a character flaw, that is just plain stupid.

President Obama admits that he was too polite and did not do well in the debate last week (substance he did fine). That in itself, says a great deal about President Obama's character; he admits when he is wrong and has done so on several occasions.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, shoots first, aims later, stands by his often stupid and outrageous statements for days then walks those statements backwards--not much character in Romney. For weeks, Romney defended his 47% comments, stood by them then because President Obama decided NOT to give Mitt a stage to flip flop on them during the debate, Romney went on FOX and said "I was wrong". No, what is wrong is a pathological liar like Romney who wouldn't recognize sensitivity, compassion, truth, or honesty if someone read him the definition.

Reality check: In 6 of the last 7 incumbent presidential debates, 6 incumbent presidents lost their first debate, including Ronald Reagan.

Romney lied about his 20% tax cut plan estimated to cost $480 billion. He said he had no such plan. Then he later said it was revenue neutral. Then he later said it would not cut any taxes for the rich. 3 different stories in one debate.

That he seemed to get away with this during debate can be explained by the American public's lack of detailed knowledge of Romney's tax cut plan. He added to his deception by rattling off so much information that a court recorder would have had trouble keeping up with his rapid fire listing of information (some of it false).

A total of 27 different misleading statements has been attributed to romney during the debate. One every 82 seconds. And if each one lasted 20 seconds, he spent 25% of his time misleading the American people.

I have been watching debates for over 50 years and I have never seen such a lack of respect for the truth by any candidate for President. Never.

Romney can lie his butt off, but posters here can call him out. That you find this a problem only indicates that he bamboozled you.

That steaming pile of Mitt is a serial liar who probably took that amnesty in 2009 for tax cheaters. Where are your taxes Mittwit?

That Mittwit lied 533 times in30 weeks. Now three weeks later it is well over 600 lies?

I’ve written about or linked to a great deal here “chronicling Mitt’s mendacity” — to borrow Steven Benen’s phrase.

Mitt Romney says many, many things that are not true. He says this despite being in possession of the correct facts of the matter.

Which is to say that Mitt Romney lies. A lot. He lies more than any other national candidate for office in my lifetime. And I was born before the Nixon administration.

This is documented. Proven. Validated, verified, demonstrated, catalogued and quantified. Mitt Romney lies.

Here are 30 — 30! — of Benen’s weekly “chronicling” posts. These are all backed up and sourced. These are not assertions, interpretations or allegations. These are facts, actual instances.

Over the past 30 weeks, Mitt Romney has told lie after lie after lie: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, XVII, XVIII, XIX, XX, XXI, XXII, XXIII, XXIV, XXV, XXVI, XXVII, XXVIII, XXIX, XXX.

Click those links. Read the lists. List after list of lie after lie. Hundreds of them — 533, to be exact, although Benen does not make any claim to providing a comprehensive chronicle.

This is unprecedented. “We’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers,” Romney’s pollster, Neil Newhouse, said.

This has produced what James Fallows calls the “post-truth” age — a relentlessly dishonest onslaught of brazen falsehoods with which the media and the political system are struggling to cope. What do you do when every article, every “fact-check,” every arbiter denounces a lie and corrects it, but then a politician just keeps repeating it?

It’s remarkable to behold.

One of the weirder aspects of this for me is watching this unfold in the politically conservative culture of my evangelical world. The most partisan evangelical conservatives are also those most likely to rant against “relativism” and to trumpet their status as defenders of “absolute truth.” Those same folks will dismiss this post — and all 30 of Benen’s posts above — as mere partisan attacks without ever bothering to examine the 533 factual instances of Mitt’s mendacity, chronicled.

That’s the only cognitive defense they have, I guess. Jam fingers in ears and shout la-la-la-you’re-being-partisan!

Because, you see, the fact that Mitt Romney said something he knew to be false is a partisan fact. And the fact that he has done this at least 533 times in the past 30 weeks is also partisan.

I suppose the other approach for Romney defenders who cannot bear to face the fact of those 533 facts will be to angrily pore over all of Benen’s lists, reading each one with a lawyerly eye.

Have at it. Please. Cherry-pick. Spin. Split hairs. Hand-wave away whichever lies you wish as mere misdemeanors and not full-fledged felonies against honesty.

But how many of those charges do you think you can get dismissed? 10 percent? 20 percent? Maybe, if you’re that sort of person and you work really hard at it — if you’re willing to get even more pedantic and semantic and technical than even you are usually comfortable with — maybe you could half convince yourself that 50 percent of those lies somehow shouldn’t really count against Romney.

That still leaves more than 260 lies. That still leaves Mitt Romney as a convicted liar, 260 times over. And at that point you’ll have to join your friends with their fingers in their ears.

But you’ll still know.

Because everyone knows. Mitt Romney lies. A lot. That is what he does. That is who he is. And friend or foe, he does not care if you know it.

The last time we had a serial liar in the White House bush/cheney told 935 lies to get us into the Iraq Abortion. He also outed a CIA agent. Then he gave us the Great Recession. The people living in empty shopping centers call them Bushvilles for a reason.

O and Joe for the future of America! As opposed to the future of the Cayman Islands..............

Lets if I got this right, for the past 6 months the left has been defining and demonizing Mitt Romney, on their own terms as second to none, the worst person on the planet. The liberal media piles on, only too happy to oblige their hero, Obama. Romney comes on national TV and in 90 short minutes undoes all the lies and hard work the left has done over the past 6 months, and draws attention to the abysmal failure of the current office holder. Who is the real liar here? The left who painted Romney with their own brush, or Mitt, who for once was able to deliver an unfiltered message. If you need any proof of who the liars are, look no further than the debacle in Libya, Obama and company were lying from day 1 of this travesty.

President Obama, you were not only too polite to Romney, but you didn't make a clear enough case to his supporters that he was flat-out lying. If he tells a bold-faced lie you need to display the incredulous look of shock that you undoubtedly feel on the inside. If what he says isn't true, you need to say, "That's just not true." You cite statistics that prove he's lying, but forget that too many of followers don't understand statistics and don't function at your level of intelligence. Well then a friend of the slain ex-Seal told a local radio show that he remembered the tale of the Romney meeting in a different light as told to him by his slain friend. Here’s the link to that story: http://t.co/qurUZo23

Wow:

According to Ellefsen, Romney introduced himself to Doherty four separate times during the gathering.

"He said it was very comical," Ellefsen said, "Mitt Romney approached him ultimately four times, using this private gathering as a political venture to further his image. He kept introducing himself as Mitt Romney, a political figure. The same introduction, the same opening line. Glen believed it to be very insincere and stale."

Ellefsen said Doherty remembered Romney as robotic.

Now THAT is the Mitt Romney we all know and love.

Despite the fact that Obama looked bumbling and uncertain in comparison with Romney, there were some subtle maneuverings going on that were not readily apparent. Obama did, in fact, rehearse for the debate (with John Kerry playing Romney). Obama planned and laid well-camouflaged verbal traps for Romney. He, no doubt, had rehearsed some indignant little speeches he could use in his rebuttals.

Romney spotted every one of Obama's little traps with ease, brushed past them, and continued to dominate the debate. On that level, Obama appeared like Austin Powers playing chess with Boris Spassky.

We desperately need a President who can match wits with other world leaders and bring the US out ahead. Rather than Obama who can be manipulated so easily by the flattery and bullying of ruthless people much smarter than himself.

whether you are a blue or red sheep doesn't matter at this point, both liars have you guys running around with your heads up their arses!

almost every word that came out of romneys mouth in the debate was a lie (don't believe it, check any of the many fact checking sites), the ones that were not lies were flip flops from positions he held earlier this year.

obama lied as well (again go to the fact checkers), admittedly he didn't lie as much but he still stood there and lied to the american people, so you cant just attack romney on lying if you wont own up to your own guy doing the same, just in moderation.

the right keeps on asking why didn't obama say anything as a defense to claim their guy didn't lie. i'll tell you why obama didn't call the liar out, simply its cause obama didn't know the facts either and therefore couldn't point anything out.

as americans what you should be pissed about is that we have another choice besides the two liers that the media has kept in our faces for the last two years, but that other choice is being kept from us. governer gary johnson is running and will be on the ballot in november, yet the media for the main part wont talk about him and only have him on their shows to talk about the two liers. worst of all they will not allow him to be a part of the debates because they are afraid the two carbon copy liers they are championing would be shown for the fools they are!

what kind of democracy/republic hides your choices from you so you will only pick from the two puppet choices they give you? a corrupt one.....

The lack of cohesive thought on this board today is overwhelming. The president, during the debate, did not act like a Jerry Springer guest ... he offered facts and, I'm sure, planned to openly debate Romney regarding their differences in ideology. Then ... Romney simply lied.

He switched his positions on nearly everything ... from overturning Obamacare in his 'first day in office' stand he went to planning on keeping some of it. From overturning Dodd-Frank immediately 'upon taking office' he flipped to keeping most of it in place. From agreeing with his running mate regarding a Medicare voucher system he flopped to leaving Medicare intact ... to maybe changing it for younger people ... to making sure it was solvent.

How could anyone wrestle [debate] a writhing snake covered in olive oil? Romney will say or do ANYTHING he can to get his a$$ in the White House. Make no mistake about it ... Romney is NOT going to help the middle class. He is for the 1% and considers those of us who work to be nothing more than servants to be used at his pleasure.

Of course, what else would we expect from someone who believes himself to be a saint?

A vote for Romney is a vote against the middle class.

Now Obama says he was too polite. I wonder what number excuse this is and where if fits with the plethora of other excuses?

The reason Romney is surging in the polls is that for the first time tens of millions of American people had an opportunity to see and hear the real Mitt Romney, not the one that's usually projected by the socialist media.

Here are 7 of Romney’s fact-challenged claims from debate:

1. An ‘Unelected Board’ Controlling Your Health Care

Despite President Obama trying to push back on this lie, Romney made this claim a few times last night. Obamacare, according to Romney, “puts in place an unelected board that's going to tell people ultimately what kind of treatments they can have.” In reality, as the Associated Press points out , the board that is tasked with bringing down Medicare costs is prohibited from “rationing care, shifting costs to retirees, restricting benefits or raising the Medicare eligibility age. So the board doesn't have the power to dictate to doctors what treatments they can prescribe.” This Romney claim also hearkened back to Sarah Palin’s lie that Obamacare created “death panels,” which was a straight up lie.

2. A Bipartisan Record

Romney referred to his alleged “bipartisan” record in Massachusetts as governor during the debate. But what’s the real story on this? ABC News calls the claim “not quite factual.” Indeed: Romney’s health care plan was enacted with the help of a Democratic legislature. But in general, the body was “frustrated” with Romney “because he wanted to govern like a ‘CEO’ and ‘didn’t pay heed to the legislature and they resented that,’” according to the Massachusetts Taxpayer Foundation’s Michael Widmer.

3. Dodd-Frank Labels Banks as ‘Too Big to Fail’

One contrast between the candidates that emerged during the debate was over Dodd-Frank, the weak Wall Street reforms and regulations passed after the 2008 financial collapse. Romney wants to repeal Dodd-Frank, and part of the reason why is his claim that the bill designates banks as “too big to fail” and therefore gives them “a blank check.” But as ThinkProgress notes, this is far from the truth: “the law merely says that the biggest, systemically risky banks need to abide by more stringent regulations . If those banks fail, they will be unwound by a new process in the Dodd-Frank law that protects taxpayers from having to pony up for a bailout.”

4. Obamacare Leads to Loss of Healthcare

Governor Romney claimed that the passage of the Affordable Care Act will lead to 20 million people losing health insurance. He based this claim on a Congressional Budget Office report. But according to PolitiFact, Romney “cherry picked” the CBO report and mislead viewers on why people would “lose” coverage.

PolitiFact’s final verdict on the claim is: “That number is cherry-picked, and he’s wrong to describe it as only including people who ‘like’ their coverage, since many of those 20 million will be leaving employer coverage voluntarily for better options. Romney also ignores that under the status quo, many more people today ‘lose’ coverage than even the highest, cherry-picked CBO estimate. We rate his statement False.”

5. The Failure of the Obama Economy

Romney hammered Obama on the economy’s performance over the past four years. One claim Romney made was this: “[We have] 23 million people out of work...The proof of that is that 50 percent of college graduates this year can't find work.”

But here’s the AP breakdown of the facts on this claim: “The number of unemployed is 12.5 million, not 23 million. Romney was also counting 8 million people who are working part time but would like a full-time job and 2.6 million who have stopped looking for work, either because they are discouraged or because they are going back to school or for other reasons.”

And on the college graduate claim, Romney was also wrong. Back to the AP: “A Northeastern University analysis for The Associated Press found that a quarter of graduates were probably unemployed and another quarter were underemployed, which means working in jobs that didn't make full use of their skills or experience.”

6. Obamacare Cuts Billions From Medicare

This was one of Romney’s favorite attack lines last night: the notion that the Affordable Care Act is siphoning off funds from Medicare. The specific claim is that $716 billion was cut from Medicare because of the Affordable Care Act. In reality, this claim is highly misleading. What the number refers to is money that is saved “primarily through reducing over-payments to insurance companies under Medicare Advantage, not payments to beneficiaries. Paul Ryan’s budget plan keeps those same cuts , but directs them toward tax cuts for the rich and deficit reduction,” ThinkProgress notes.

7. Gas Prices Increase

Romney said that “gasoline prices have doubled under the president. Electric rates are up.” This is true--but to blame it on the president is highly misleading. Gasoline prices have little to do with individual policies carried out by a president. Instead, as the Associated Press states, “Gasoline prices are set on financial exchanges around the world and are based on a host of factors, most importantly the price of crude oil used to make gasoline, the amount of finished gasoline ready to be shipped and the capacity of refiners to make enough to meet market demand.”

The AP also skewers Romney’s claim on electric rates going up: “Retail electricity prices have risen since Obama took office — barely. They've grown by an average of less than 1 percent per year, less than the rate of inflation and slower than the historical growth in electricity prices. The unexpectedly modest rise in electricity prices is because of the plummeting cost of natural gas, which is used to generate electricity.”

This is kind of a pet peeve of mine, so I must address. Whenever a republican tries to state that the price of gasoline has more than doubled under Obama, it should be understood that they're lying and using dishonest information. I know that you don't enjoy thinking about who was in office before Obama, so let's just call him GW. Anyone with the slightest amount of memory will know that during GWs Presidency, our economy and that of the world were declining rapid during the last 2-3 years in office. During the summer of 2008, average gas prices were well over $4.00 per gallon nationwide. After the global economy crashed, gas quickly dropped and found its way briefly under $2.00 per gallon. This figure is what republicans would like us all to think was the average price during GW's leadership. It is a lie, and the only reason we got that low was due to the US and global economies crashing under republican leadership.

"A vote for Romney is a vote against the middle class."

I'm middle class and in the past three years:

1. I haven't received a raise

2. My 401k has gone down, not up.

3. Gas is more expensive.

4. Food is more expensive.

5. Utilities are more expensive.

6. My health insurance is going up due to ACA.

7. My taxes are going up.

Those are just some basic issues that Obama has caused in my personal backyard. That doesn't go into all the other issues he's caused around the country and around the world.

Obama has done a damn thing for me, he's made things worse. So I'm not sure how you can say Obama is for the middle class.

Honestly, reading what you libs say, the only thing I can think of is that you're living proof on how the Dept of Education has completely failed this country. Any smart independent/repub will not claim that Romney is going to fix everything in the country, but we will say that Romney will do a hell of a lot better than this fake in office has.

Then in his macho moment, he'll make unscripted (non-telepromter) lip flaps that Romney will jump all over like a crow on a cricket. You know, I've noticed that you really don't see much of that sort of thing from Romney supporters.

But, you see it all the time from the Obamaniacs

We can only hope that Obama thinks his problem was that he was too polite. Maybe now, Obama the Arrogant will show up and REALLY seal the deal for Romney.

Obama and team got caught way off guard by an opponent who was well prepared and confident. He brought ideas and numbers. Obama brought vague generalities, always expressed in way too many words.

I expect the next debate Obama will come out swinging and come across as an arrogant bully. That may work in front of 10,000 adoring fans (funny, but in 2008 it was 50,000) but it won't work in front of millions of Americans who are now ready for a mature adult in the White House.

Instead, he presented his own positive plans for the future of the middle class.

You must have watched something other than the debate because there was no plan laid out by Obama. It was just more of the same BS he has been saying since 2008. Here is also something he said back then “I will cut the defect in half in my first term" "if I cannot do this ten it should be a one term proposition". Well he hasn’t done that but it doesn't keep him from begging or his job even though he has only added to the problems. Tell me how does the great and powerful OZ still have you believing there will be any change from what is going on now because for FOUR years there has been no CHANGE and were we not promised that too. I know there we go with fats again you Libs should really read some of the BS you post here. If you even believe half of it the world is in far worse shape then even I thought and I think we are on the verge of a catastrophic failure in our economic system that will wipe out America or at least art another Revolutionary War. You believe your fairy tale though. I am prepared for the collapse as most sane people are, you probably not so much. You think hurricane Karina was bad that is going to be how the USA looks if Obama is elected again.

One last thing can you tell me why Obama did not do anything for the middle class when he had both sides of Congress for two years. That's right he was getting his tax hike on the middle class going even though he said here would not be one.

David,

If that was true and Obama was prepared with the facts, then Obama should have been able to easily respond and point out the lies Romney was telling.

So, either Obama wasn't prepared with the facts, or Romney wasn't lying. Either way, it was a very poor performance by Obama.

The "polite" thing is just an excuse. You can politely tell someone else they are lying. In fact, Romney did this several times to Obama during the debate.

As others have said, if Obama comes out in attack dog mode like many here seem to be hoping for, I predict that will be the nail in the coffin for his campaign. Independents like me (that voted for Obama in 08) want the candidates to deal with facts, not mud-slinging.

So Obama feels that he can do better in the debates and cover up his failed policies and the facts by being rude. The President's administration said that unemployment would now be less than 6% but instead it stands at 7.8%. The President promised that the 2012 federal deficit would not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet it actually exceeded 1.1 trillion dollars. The President has mentioned the idea of starting to pay down the debt but his administration is predicting huge deficits for at least another decade. The President has yet to present a plan for paying back all of this money that the federal government has been borrowing so that the tax payers can know how much all this borrowing is really going to cost them. It is too bad that the President had to confront the truth by debating the real Romney rather than the Romney of his campaign's imagination. Maybe at the next debate, some name calling and a few cheap shots thrown at Romney will make up for what has actually been happening in the middle east.

That is one of his best attributes -- keeping it cool when the pressure is on.

Whether he does well in the next debate or not, it does not change the class act he has been while in office and the confidence that millions of Americans have in him.

I am still trying to figure out where Romney stands on education. His plan was to cut Pell Grants for college students all along, a big issue with folks like me with two kids in college (yes, I am one of the 47% of freeloaders in the country whose sons go to college on merit-based scholarships, family assistance, and a small percentage paid by Pell Grants while each of them work outside jobs, too).

Now, during the debate, suddenly Romney switches gears and says he is not cutting education.

Hey Richard and Izzy,

Why can't we bring up George Bush's Administration? Bush and Cheney ruled for eight years. They just left the White House less than four years ago and when they did, they left an economic catastrophe that almost led to global financial collapse.

His Administration put us in the dire straits we now have, and the GOP congress has selfishly done NOTHING to help get us out of their own party's colossal damages.

The most obvious empty chair at the Republican National Convention belonged to George Bush. Wonder why the GOP didn't want him there? Clinton was at the Democratic Convention. Hey, where was Bush? Why was his name never mentioned? He just left the Oval Office less than four years ago. Why does the GOP want everyone to forget about him? Oh that's right ... Bush and his puppeter, Cheney, put us in this deep hole that President Obama has so diligently been working to get us out of with NO help from the Republicans and their New Mother the Tea Party.

I, for one, plan to give a shout-out every day from this day forward until the election to remind people what Bush and Cheney did to our country before they bailed out with their golden retirement plans to a soft landing on their luxury ranches in Texas and Wyoming.

The Republicans may wish us to forget what the Bush Adminstration did, but only someone with short-term memory loss could forget what happened the last time the GOP was in office -- two wars and financial chaos that nearly caused global financial collapse.

A vote for Romney is the same thing as a vote for four more years of
Bush and Cheney.

I'm middle class and in the past three years:

1. I haven't received a raise

you want the president to give u a pay raise? how so?

2. My 401k has gone down, not up.

If ur 401K has gone down, either u or financial manager has bigger issues than can be explained here... the average 401k has gone up more than 50%.... you clearly have a problem... and it's displaced.

3. Gas is more expensive.

Government can't truly control this

4. Food is more expensive.

nothing to do with Obama's policies.

5. Utilities are more expensive.

nothing to do with Obama's policies.

6. My health insurance is going up due to ACA.

Health insurance has gone up at the slowest pace since 1950

Sorry, but you are too stupid to know this.

7. My taxes are going up.

how in the world is that possible.... taxes have gone down under Obama (FACT!!!!!)

Those are just some basic issues that Obam

My simple summation is that you are an idiot.... stop thinking, procreating or voting... I'm sorry, but that's the diagnoses I could come up with. Educate yourself and vote back in President Obama.

Silverton,

I'm not Bush fan, but to put all of the blame for the crash on him is disingenuous at best. The financial meltdown was at least 15 years in the making (and I think it dated back to changes made in the 70's), and both parties supported policies that lead to the collapse.

Trying to say the collapse was just (or mostly) due to Bush is just a partisan rewrite of history.

Please there is enough to attack Romney on without including his religion. Harry Reid is also a Mormon, and he stands with O'bama. When progressives attack Romney for his religion its no better then regressives attacking O'bama for his Muslim ancestry.

Although I know you like to dwell in 'conspiracies'...none to be found here. All I know is that readers and viewers have been instructed for 5 years now on just how vastly superior Mr. Obama's intelligence is to just about any living or dead human being put up for comparison. Oh that 'Myth'..he's such a dolt. Just about anyone else too !

Sorry...but I have not seen any indication over the past 5 years that this President has any vast reservoir of intelligence. Where's the beef ? While being promoted as the genius the country so desperately needed, I would have thought there'd be some sliver of proof ! And while the media even had gotten hold of George Bush's elementary school report card, they apparently showed very little interest in providing any backup info while they were busy telling the nation how lucky it was to have this vastly knowledgable man offering to save us all from ourselves.

From what sane minds have witnessed, not a heck of lot of proof of the man's intelligence exists. And on top of that, he has the leadership skills of a back row lemming.

And what difference would any educational look at Mr. Romney's history make?

Based on his near historic achievement at Harvard, based on his incredibly successful business career, and based on the way he stepped up to successfully run the United States Olympic program after the attacks on 9-11...the only souls who would choose to ever question the intelligence levels of Mr. Romney are the darkened sould here on Newsvine.

It sure has taken Obama's staff quite a long time to come up with his latest excuse. I can only guess that Bush is still to blame for everything else. For me it all comes down to the White House dog. The President said that the White House dog would be a mutt, "like me" from a shelter yet the dog they got was a pure bread who has never set foot in a shelter. Imagine, the President is suppose to be the most powerful man in the free world yet he cannot keep his word on something as trivial as the White House dog. Maybe it was Bush's fault or maybe the President was just too polite about the matter. AT least if he claims that he was too polite he is recognizing that it was his fault.

President Obama was too polite to Romney.

Obama should have deluged Romney with the facts.

The facts: It is GOP economic policies that have brought economic turmoil to America. Because of the GOP's skewed ideology our unemployment numbers swelled, millions of our citizens lost their homes, countless citizens lost their retirements and investments, the banks required a 25 billion dollar bailout, all because of 2 wars and the lofty tax breaks and giveaways to the rich.

The only reason it can be difficult to respond to Mitt, is that one never knows which lie Mitt is going to tell.

I have been watching this political campaign since the primaries. It made me sick to my stomach watching Romney spew out lie after lie during the first debate. Not only was President Obama too polite, I also believe he should have been better prepared for this much dishonesty from Romney.

During the second debate the President needs to call Romney out every time he lies and show America what Romney is; Just a dishonest and sleazy empty shirt that can not be trusted with the awesome responsibility of the presidency.

    AlexM:

I, too, am in the middle class. I have worked since I was a kid - holding a full time job since I was 18. I have never taken a dime of "entitlement" money.

I have paid for my own health care insurance my whole life as well AND I have always paid into Medicare with the promise that, when I retire I will have a pre-paid health care insurance. It isn't an entitlement! I worked for it and paid for it! If Romney would (somehow) win this election I, and others my age, will be thrown to the wolves (insurance industry). It is a breach of contract with the American people.

If I make payments on something there is a point at which that 'something' should be delivered. Romney / Ryan could not possibly care less about whether or not the working middle class people have access to quality health care. They get theirs paid by THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GETTING SCREWED OUT OF IT!

You say you haven't received a raise in the past 3 years. Too bad for you. Maybe your employer is telling you something about your job performance or using the "economy" as an excuse for not giving raises while banking even more profits for himself. Either way, you have a job. If yo had been employed by one of the myriad companies Romney's Bain Capital scavenged, you would be on the street without a pot.

If your 401k has gone down, not up, as you say, then you need to have someone else handle it for you. Everyone I know saw a downturn for a while but they have all recouped and are ahead of where they were 3 years ago.

You complain that gas is more expensive. It is ... and the Wall Street speculators are making a killing on it ... selling it 20 or more times before the price "trickles down" to us. Wall Street needs to be strapped with tighter regulations so they are no longer to hold the American people hostage to their gluttony. Dodd-Frank is the starting point, but Romney wants to protect his Wall Street buddies and has promised to overturn it and LOOSEN banking and Wall Street regulations.

Food is more expensive because the fuel to get the food to market is higher (see above paragraph) AND we have a horrible drought this year that decimated the crops. Many point to climate change as the reason for the drought and president Obama is trying to help curb that problem. Romney, on the other hand, wants us to blow off mountaintops, drill in the National Parks and basically allow big oil, gas & coal to do whatever the heck they want, regardless of the ecological damage, as long as they are making the 1% a lot of money.

Electric prices, nationwide, have risen at a rate of about 1% per year under president Obama, less than in previous years and less than inflation. That is a reasonable increase for any industry to make.

Your health insurance is not going up because of ACA. It is going up because the insurance industry is gouging individuals and employers who provide health insurance to their employees. Again, president Obama wants to regulate the insurance industry. Romney wants to force Americans out of Medicare and into that industry's greedy paws.

You say your taxes are going up ... which taxes? If it's your income tax, then you must be in an upper end income and are, under president Obama, being asked to pay the same percentage as all other Americans. Don't whine to me about it. If someone making $50,000.00 a year has to pay 23% then someone making $50 million should be paying the SAME PERCENTAGE. It is NOT the bottom line that matters ... it is equality. A percentage is a percentage, regardless of the total.

What other "issues he's caused around the country and around the world."? He has put Israel on notice that we will not be drawn into another war that we cannot afford. He has been an excellent statesman and represented our nation well. Unlike Romney who had hoof-in-mouth disease on his European tour.

You say you do not sure how you can say Obama is for the middle class. He has provided tax breaks for middle income working people. Romney says he doesn't care about them. He has ended the was in Iraq, so far kept us out of a war with Iran (Romney wants us to send in troops), is pulling us responsibly out of Afghanistan (Romney thinks we should stay there until we get control of that country), has saved the American auto industry and all the jobs that go along with it and that loan was repaid with interest (Romney said we should let them go bankrupt), he is making strides in upgrading our public education system (Romney plans to destroy that system and promote private schools).

You call me a "lib", but I say I am a taxpaying, hard-working American. I don't ask for hand-outs, but I damned sure want what I have paid for.

You say that "any smart independent/repub will not claim that Romney is going to fix everything in the country, but we will say that Romney will do a hell of a lot better than this fake in office has." Well it is Romney ... your chosen saint ... who is saying that HE WILL FIX EVERYTHING. Is he lying?

President Obama said that it was not going to be an easy road. Romney has said that it's easy to fix the problem ... just elect him ... he'll do it in no time flat ... but he's not going to tell us how until he's elected.

Sorry, I believe that America is on the right road. It may not be the quickest path but, in the end, it is the correct one.

A vote for Romney is a vote against the middle class.

I agree to a point. We have never been so divided in our ideologies - both left and right are adamant in their philosophies. Congress is the same, too. But I believe both sides (citizens that is - congress is particularily against us - why...they make laws and and exclude themselves) want whats best and they think their man is the best one for the job. I, too, have my choice and once again I am reminded of what my father told me years ago, he said, that the best man for president would never run for the office so, son, you are left to vote for what you believe would be the least of two evils. In the years since then, when I've voted I've faced that same dilemma at each election time. Maybe our forefathers were right when they stated that citizen-politicians were desired...those that would come to office, do a service then go home - never did they expect, I believe, that we would one day be faced with career politicians whose only true goal in their careers is to get re-elected. Most come in to office as rich men/women, some come to office not too rich but when they leave they are........! It is a compilation of their ineptitude's, over the years, that have brought us to this point. What to do about it - it's your guess!

          Silverton,

President Obama has so diligently been working to get us out of with NO help from the Republicans and their New Mother the Tea Party.

Classic Lib BS. It was actually Clinton that got us on this path with the lax lending standards he pushed for. Someone that make minimum wage can buy a $500,000 house with no money down. Do some research better yet here?

          http://spectator.org/archives/2009/02/06/the-true-origins-of-this-finan

Also the president had two years where Dem controlled the House and the Senate. What did Obama do then? Nothing! You Libs bi*ch about Bush but Obama has spent more in ½ the time in office then Bush spent in 8 years in office and yes it was disgraceful what Bush spent so what does that say about Obama. There was one big difference Bush had an unemployment rate of 5.3% for the 8 years and Obamas is 8.9% for his four years, now tell me who was better if your life depends on working and not living off of the gubment? Where’s my gubment cheese and my check?

Don’t worry Little Libby’s Obama will come out in the next debate as angry Obama and point out what a tragedy it is that Romney said he would fire Big Bird since that has been worked into every one of his speeches as of the last debate. That is sure not what is important to me whether Big Bird stays on or not but let’s cut everything including the size of gubment or there are going to be dire consequences that follow. I know all of you that rely on the government of things thinks this is unfair what is unfair is that only 47% of us work to take care of 53% of you. Most of you have no reason to be not working. Before you twist my words like you do Romney if you are disabled yes the government should take care of you. Social Security should be kept and only given to those that work. The number of years you worked should determine how much Social Security you get and if you made just above the poverty level when working you should get more money than those of us that make above the poverty level but it should be based on how many years you worked. If you don’t want to work then don’t ask for money if you can work. Clinton did do something like no other Dem president he put a cap on how long you could collect welfare and that needs to be reinstated. Like I said there are more pressing issues than Big Bird. Then again that should show you Libs just how incompetent Obama is.

It should be taken as an insult to everyone that voted for Obama that he is more worried about what will happen to Big Bird over what happens to you and I.

Bill, before you get too hot under your collar, I should tell you that I have been called a bleeding liberal and a teabagger on the same day in this forum. It makes me feel good. Means I'm a free thinker and not voting for any particular party just because my daddy or grandaddy did. But, if it allows you to let off some steam by labeling people, go ahead.

It's amusing when people try to blame Clinton for anything other than philandering (which of course, he is guilty there). But, for the economy? LOL. Everybody knows that there was a surplus budget when Clinton left office. That's why the Dem's love to have Clinton around in public settings. The guy did a great job as President.

And yes, I agree, it was terrible about the 47% freeloader remark that Romney was secretly taped making. A true depiction of the man's character.

Gee, when Romney was secretly recorded talking to wealthy donors at $ 50,000 a plate, he said condescendingly that 47% of Americans were freeloaders who didn't want to better their lives and wanted hand-outs. He was completely oblivious to the fact that part of that 47% were waiting on him hand and foot in that very room, serving him and his champagne drinking buddies their meals and refreshing their wine glasses.

I had some respect for Mitt Romney before that incident, but a person as calloused as that does not deserve a political position of any kind in this country.

Can you imagine what it would be like if Romney actually was elected and was the leader of those moochers that he despises?

          I shudder to think.

The 1st. debate is done...... So did anyone in here change their intended position or proposed vote choice...... I seriously doubt it. You are all waiting to see how those next 2 debates go right.... Yea Right!!! LOL.

So what does that say, beside that fact that none of us in here, including myself, are gonna be open minded this time around. The AP, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, HLN, and FOX are all corrupt, but only 1 leans Right... and Lefties can deal with it..... LOL.

Was anyone surprised Romney out spoke a teleprompter-less Barry Soetoro,... well, I was. I actually thought Barry would mop the floor with Romney. As you can tell, I didn't have high expectations of Romney, but he surprised me. Which is more than I can say about Barry's 1st. term. He delivered exactly what I expected.... which is nothing but broken promises, a Bigger-Fatter-Hungrier Government, Lots of luxury vacations on our dime, and while we suffer, Lots of Golf Games, and being an all around perfect hypocrite. No more, no less.

And is anyone surprised that Barry's response to his poor performance is to blame it on anything but himself. Romney Lied.... LMAO, how lame is that. I suppose you Liberals really believe that crap, while at the same time swallowed Michelle Soetoro's speech hook-line and sinker, about rusty cars with holes, and big over-powering student loans from their ivy league college... Harvard gards,.... Yea Right!!!

Well read this and weep fools.....

            http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/09/05/Fact-Check-Michelle-Obama-s-False-Fairy-Tale-of-Struggle

Ole Barry doesn't even know how to be a man, by admitting that he just fell short on his debate performance, and promise (again) to pick up his game. All you liberals got from your puppet boy was just another Lame-Ass Excuse blaming his failure on someone else. Where does the buck stop with Barry, no one will ever know.... except for the fall-guy.

The fact is, Barry's got nothing to brag about, he didn't produce on his promises, and the intangible idea of HOPE, CHANGE & YES WE CAN has been used up, and dried out. There's nothing left in Lefties big bag of tricks, except for lies, distortion of the truth, and blame someone else..... There are No Jobs, No Economic Growth, GITMO's still there, The Terrorist weren't bought to NY for Trial (Thank God, or is it Allah), The Big Wall Street Banks Got bailed-out and their Exec's built golden parachutes before jumping ship, The Big Ass Wall Street Insurance Companies got bailed out and their Exec's built golden parachutes before jumping ship, The No. of Food Stamp Recipients has grown by more than 50%, Barry's good friend Rod Biglogofshyt is behind bars, GM and Obama's Co-Owner Union Buddies got bailed out, and still ultimately filed for Chap. 11 and then failed to pay back the loan in it's entirety, Chrystler and Obama's Co-Owner Union Buddies got bailed out, and still ultimately filed for Chap. 11 and failed to pay back the tax payer loan in it's entirety, Solara and a whole slew of other "Green Jobs" companies received a couple billion in government loans, before promptly filing for Chap. 11 and failing to pay back America, The Assclowns that voted for and passed Obamycare's dream of socialized medicine excluded themselves for having to participate in what the dropped onto us. Isn't that fair and just...... NO!... 10% of American's either refuse to buy or can't afford Health Insurance..... so the remaining 90%, businesses in particular have to pick up the tab..... doesn't that make perfect sense.... NO!

About the only good thing Barry did was to use Bush and Chenny's personal team of assassin's (As Obama once refered to Seal Team 6) to take out Osama Bin Laden. Then, Barry shows us his true narcissistic personality by playing it up as all his doing. And adding insult to injury, ole Barry sell's out the poor Pakistani doctor who was the real hero, now that poor basturds rotting in a hole, if not dead already. Want to know about Barry's foreign policy... expect nothing more than a bow and an apology for American being a powerful nation. Or you could just ask Chris Stevens'... whoops, too late for that... a random act of violence killed him.

            Romney is a Chameleon.

He came up with a whole new set of facts for the debate. Changes his color from day to day depending on who he's talking to.

Excuse me, Mr. Romney, you've been saying for the last twelve months that you were going to cut Pell Grants for college students, and the day of the debate you say that you are not cutting education.

            So ... which is it?

            It can't be both.

And hey, what about that 47% freeloader remark? Oh, that's right ... you got caught on tape with that one ... so now you have to say you were "completely wrong." Sounds to me like you are "completely dishonest" too.

But, hey, what do I know? I am just one of the 47% of moochers that is trying to send two sons through college with a small assistance from Pell Grants. After paying taxes for over forty years, excuse me for mooching off the government while my straight A sons go to college on merit-based scholarships they earned, family assistance we provide, both of them working jobs while in school, and a little help each semester from Pell Grants that help to ease the burden.

Sorry you despise us 47%. Wish we could have afforded to pay cash out of our pocket in full for our sons' undergraduate and post-graduate degrees like you did for your five sons, but, if you could just let us freeloaders know what will happen with education if you're elected, some of us would be interested in knowing.

We just can't tell since you keep changing colors.

If Mr. President Obama is pinning his hopes of winning the presidential race, has he already gotten a condo for Biden to move in with him in Hawaii?

There is no way an old man like Joe Biden will have the facts and figures down like Ryan will. Joe Biden will also make the usual mistakes. Having Joe Biden for VP is like having a mix of silly putty.

The VP debate should at least be entertaining.

The last presidential election in Iran saw street protests and violent repression. This next election in the face of great economic hardship due to sanctions may see even greater turmoil.

The Ayatollah Khamanei holds the real power in Iran, but he will be forced to make a calculation on whether another round of street protests and riots and counterattacks is worth the risk of continuing with a nuclear weapons program.

Thus, an opportunity exists for a deal to be struck to end nuclear weapons program and the sanctions, so Iran's economy can improve. The key to a successful negotiation revolves around Iran's leaders being able to save face.

One possible scenario is for Khamanei to blame whole mess on the current President Achmadinijad via his chosen President in the next election. Thus, in the next election, Khamanei's candidate for President would run on ending the sanctions through negotiations while disavowing any interest in nuclear weapons. It is possible. And it fits our timetable as well.

Obama has already helped the economy since the debate, Big Bird Halloween costumes are flying off the shelves. Way to go Obama and maybe during the next debate you should bring this point out; it would certainly be the best point that you could possibly make being that you have done nothing during your term. Oh, wait, I'm wrong, you put us 6 Trillion dollars deeper in debt, no new jobs as promised, but let's not forget that you geared up and you, Michelle and Oprah went over to Pakistan and killed Osama.

But fear not my fellow Americans, if you vote for me I promise that I will fly off at my leisure to a basketball game on Air Force One at $186,000 per hour and catch a ball game. I won't let you down on that one, trust me, I'm the president.

It just goes to show you that without his little tele-prompter he's not worth the toilet paper that was stuck to the bottom of his shoe at the last debate.

And tonight ......... Ryan will have Joe 'Bumbling' Biden against the ropes and rope-a-dope that fool. It will be fun to watch.

Ironic, because the makers of Seseme Street get royalties for all merchandise. More reason to not fund with tax money.

BTW, seems to me that little Tickle Me Elmo which sells pretty good, and the past Muppet movies and TV shows and ongoing Disney deal, and recent big screen feature movie probably brought in a few bucks, you would think they would not need any money at all.

It's well-known that in Debate, the knee-jerk reaction (which immediately loses the point being attempted, and does it totally) is the ad hominem fallacy. This is, translated, the ultimate of juvenile name-calling ... "attacking the man not the issue."

And how Obama's followers try to emulate him. "Lies, lies, on the 4th of Julys" we used to sing when we were kids. Utter nonsense. Facts proved and Sources quoted, with Logic an imperative are essential in a real debate.

Mr. Obama calls himself "too polite"? My, my he's running high. However, I suggest there is another reason for such a silly statement.

--- Note the generals he got rid of, fired! who'd been put in charge of the Afghan fighting by our President, long after we had completed the original goal... which was to find and destroy the origins of 9/11.

--- He called the news reporters in to witness his shabby firing job of dedicated, intelligent, skilled top military. He wanted to go public? The newspersons to come to the Oval Office for a theatrical show he'd scripted, when he, himself, was perpetrating the war?

My, my, he is, after all, up in the sky being Commander in Chief of the Military.

--- This is the POTUS who sent bombers over Libya without Congressional ratification, calling it "presidential mandate" when questioned about it. This Attack by us totally broke the laws of our Constitution. We had NOT been attacked by Libya. This was not a Defense (which is provided under our laws). Libya had NOT attacked our American homeland as did 9/11.

--- This Polite Gentleman is our head honcho (he figures) who thinks we should unilaterally grant Amnesty to Illegal Aliens. I question him, what part of the word "Illegal" does he not understand? I'll help him. The hordes who swamp us here and deluge us with taking our jobs away, having babies by the dozens and send for their cousins... and their aunts... they already have broken the laws of this land.

Mr. Obama could not, I think, use the word "polite" to describe himself.

Seems to me a more accurate word is "ignoramus," to be kind.

The President is a great guy but he fails to keep his promise.

Without conditions to include any act of congress the President vowed to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first administration. In the debate, Romney called him on this, and the President just left it on the table. To keep the President's promise the 2012 federal deficit should not have exceeded 229.27 billion dollars yet it has exceeded 1.1 trillion dollars. What makes this really bad is the current debt. I estimate, that because the federal government is already more than 16 trillion dollars in debt, the money that the federal government is borrowing today will end up costing the tax payers 10 times the amount borrowed to repay over the next 180 years. The problem is that before the federal government can even begin to pay back the new debt it has to pay off the old debt. While paying off the old debt, interest still has to be paid on the new debt. The higher the existing debt, the higher the multiplication factor. Having to borrow money for things that will provide little or no return on investment is bad enough, but having to borrow money when we are already over our head in debt is even worse.

Just before the stimulus bill was passed, the Obama administration issued a report that promised that if the stimulus were passed that unemployment would not exceed 8% and that now unemployment would be less than 6%. According to the federal government unemployment is now at 7.8%. The President called the stimulus bill a spending bill and other federal budgets were increased to increase Federal spending. The federal government under Obama has been trying to flood the economy with cash but the effort has failed to turn the economy around. Where is all this money going, well overseas of course. Our trade deficit is staggering.

I doubt that ediquet had anything to do with Obama's losing the debate. It was the facts that got him.

I made a similar point in FT...the President needs to be careful here. While yes, the base would love to see him come out swinging and attacking, if he goes TOO far, he risks turning off the undecided / independent voters, who don't like that.

That's not what I'm saying at all. CNN did a really cool thing during the debate, having independent voters use dials for if they felt negatively toward what a candidate said or positively. Without exception, every time either one of the candidates acted negatively or really went after the other guy, the dials shot down. Independents are more easily turned off by this. Really, the bases have made up their minds already.

I have no doubt that the President will be far more prepared this time around and much more cognizant of tone and optics. It is going to be interesting for sure.

                            Hi Feisty! :-)

Honestly, just my two cents and conjecture on my part. Most independents seem to be turned off by too much attacking and CNN's dial testing seemed to prove that. As for the bump...a few theories of mine: Mr. Romney "won" the debate according to polls. That gave people a more favorable impression of him and the thought that if he can hang with the President, he is worth considering. I think he definitely won the expectations and optics battle during the debate. The kicker is going to be seeing if the bounce lasts and if so, for how long. My thoughts are that this is incredibly tight...I can see it settling into an Obama +2 race depending on how future debates go.

                            Happy Wednesday!! :-)

Frank: I hope you don't mind my sticking my nose in uninvited:

I don't agree Romney won, and I have never have. He was frenetic, as he always is, but fact challenged.

I always turn off the sound throughout part of the debate and watch affect. If you do that, you learn a lot.

What I learned was that Romney was in panic mode, desperate to catch up.

The media cooperated. Chris Matthews had a set of responses he wanted the President to give, he wasn't going to be happy unless the President quoted it verbatim.

Did Romney "win". Or did the media fail?

Note that I didn't say whether I thought either guy won or lost. I'm just going off of the polls such as Gallup and CNN which were pretty overwhelmingly in favor of Romney. Regardless of how us political junkies disected it, the general public felt that Romney had won and that is what is being reflected in the current election polls that we are seeing. Again, just my $0.02.

You said something else interesting, Frank, that feeds into the point I am trying to make.

The President IS going to change is strategy, no doubt. He is going to have to call Romney out on his swiftly changing positions.

I think it remains to be seen if the meme from the media is "oh gosh, the President was TOO tough on Romney."

In other words, has the bar been set so low for Romney, that it will be called a win no matter what?

                            I don't know. Can't wait to see.

Yes, the President was too polite with Willard

One thing we have to remember about the last debate between the President and Willard, was the President laid out an attempt at an honest debate. However, Willard was not going to comply with such a notion. Willard went to great efforts to lie and dodge the issues while breaking the debate rules, in which so many of his fans loved.

So, in round two, the President needs to show up for a street fight and from the start walk up to Willard and mess his hair up, slap him in the face, and kick him in the balls.

The President will have to let Willard know that his scumbag lying ways are over, and the American people are going to see what a total POS Willard M. Romney is.

4 more years of Obama would send our Country into the darkest ages in our Countries History.

The comments here make me laugh 8) most of the country saw how dismal and crappy Obama's performance was at the podium but we all new this already since the last 4 years have been nothing but dismal and pathetic.

Let me get this straight, conservative posters here think it was just fine that Romney came across as aggressive, disruptive, whining about who got to speak first but if President Obama dares to punch back hard rhetorically, that's not acceptable. Double standard much?

Incidentally, it was reported that the CNN snap polls had no minorities, no one under 50, was all male and all from southern states. Yeah, that was a real snap shot into what people thought.

It was a Republican administration that got us into the Great Depression.

It was a republicon administration that got us into the Great Recession.

It will be the Democrats who get us out of this mess you party over country republicons got us into.

You republicons can't even balance your own budget, much less America's budget. We still remember who got our credit rating downgraded last year.

Frank, I think you are right. Independents really don't like negative attack. They want to know about policy. I want to know if The President agrees with Sen Chuck Schumer and his call for democrats to abandon The Simpson-Bowles tax model. You think anyone at the next debate will get to ask that question?

                              Hi Jody...

What I think I'm getting at is that you have to walk a line here. Obviously, the bulk of debate viewers felt that neither candidate crossed the line of attacking too much or too personally (if Romney had gone over the line of being overly attacking post-debate polls wouldn't have reflected what they did). However, when either candidate approached it, independents reacted negatively. I think the President absolutely has more room to go before he approaches that line. But I don't think that going from "overly polite" to "overly aggressive" is a move that will win over independents. He can easily find room in between those two extremes to more forcefully make his point.

I think the idea that the CNN snap poll was biased had been explained. I guess Talking Points Memo (a liberal blog) first broke the story...they then published the following updates:

Late Update: We’ve dug in a little deeper on this, and there seems to be a straightforward non-nefarious explanation. It appears that where the subgroups within CNN’s representative sample of 430 voters were too small to yield statistically valid conclusions about the subgroups themselves, CNN declined to publish those results simply because they were not reliable on their own. We’re seeking confirmation from CNN, but this is the most likely explanation — one that is valid. —dk

Later Update: CNN provided us with the internals of the poll, and the demographics of the poll respondents are very much line with normal standards for randomized sampling. —dk

And once again, the simplistic retort just has to "racial"...sorry. I just showed the "math"...just like the President always says he's doing. I thought I'd follow that example...about the only example Mr. Obama uses that I would ever think of following.

Place your goofy race card somewhere else. And is your use of capital letter to start the word "Black" as opposed to a lower case letter to start the word "white" supposed to mean something ??? Or am I just dreaming a 'racial angle' up on that too.

Clearly Obama was taken aback, he had prepared to debate a conservative, but a moderate Romney showed up talking about how he would like to keep parts of Obamacare and the Dodd/Frank bank regulations.

Why should we be surprised by this man of many faces, he is a professional sales man who will say anything it takes to close a deal. How many times have you bought something on a verbal or satisfied or you money back guarantee, only to find out later that deal had expired and was no longer being honored?........Well folks, that is what you will get with Romney who just happens to be one of those 47% he chastised for not paying federal income tax. While Romney has paid a discounted capital gains tax over recent years, he has not paid federal income tax since he resigned as CEO of Bains Capital and put his holdings in a blind trust in 1999. That is why Romney refuses to release hard copies of his tax returns which will also show he received amnesty for not paying taxes on his $3 million dollar Swiss bank account that is now closed.....Beware of this man of many faces !!!!!

Personally, I think what largely happened in the debate is Obama had prepared to debate the candidate he had been telling voters Romney was...the problem is, that wasn't the real Romney.

On the other hand, Romney knew the far right depiction of Obama was false, so he prepared to debate the actual Obama.

A lot of people on these boards seem to think Romney is another far right religious zealot that is only concerned with lining his own pockets, but that's not who he is (now or in the past).

I capitalize "Black" people because that is how I was taught since the 60s. Furthermore, it's a proper noun just as Caucasian, Asian, Latino, Native American and African American.

President Obama would have to lower his standards to gain Republican support. I'm very happy he has the character and integrity not to play Republican games. Look at the Libya scandal, they blame the President for not having enough support, all the time saying he spends to much money.. the GOP would have to eat the A$$ out of a skunk to smell better than they do.

After repeatedly calling someone a murderer, a felon, a thief, a liar, how much more agressive can you be? It won't matter in the end because the endless stream of lies, coverups and incompetance associated with the Benghazi scandal exposes Obama for what he is, weak, incompetant, empty, asleep at the wheel, and concerned about nothing other than his re-election. The nail in the Obama coffin is coming within the next couple of weeks folks.

And we all thought it was all bush's fault. Maybe the Presidents failed policies are also because he has been too polite. Maybe he can turn the economy around by being rude to people.

I don't think it was a question of politeness, I think he thought he was going to win and a was positioning himself for his second term. In other words doing a lot of the same things that Romney would do if he won:

Screw the public by cutting Social Security and Medicare, cut taxes on corporations and start a war with Iran.

The debate will depend on which ubama shows up. The one that flew into denver with altitude problems, or the one thought maybe he should spend some time on it, or the one that thought he was going for truth and substance, or the one that was to polite or the one that said he shoulda done better. Take your vote see which excuse he uses this time. Won't matter cause Romney gonna mop the floor with him again anyway. ubama should grow his hair out a little, makes a better mop

Beverly, pay the bigoted pundits no mind, because they don't matter.

I could have thrown any race at them, but notice how "black" is so offensive to them.

It is quite astounding. Maybe some of them were ancestors of slave traders? You think?

President Obama's dismal performance in the debate shows what baseball manager Leo Durocher said, "nice guys finish last". If he steps up his game in the next two debates President Obama can regain what he lost and perhaps even gain more. He needs to attack and not let up. He needs to call Willard out on his flip flops and lies.

If his perfomance is anything but spot on he may have a much more difficult time in convincing the few undecideds left to give him their vote.

Just spent a week in Southern Illinois, St.Louis Missouri and Eastern Iowa and did not meet one single person who was happy with Obama. Yes he will get 95% of the black vote because all they do is watch MSNBC which is hard core propaganda and no news nor any jounalists just bald faced liars. All the media matters and MSNBC material that is posted is just manure which isn't fit for the Iowa hogs. The scenario I heard was Obama was a lousy state senator, lousy US Senator and lousy president. Moochers and frauds was a common statement. So since NBC is in the tank for Obama and Andrea Mitchell is used in Obama's ads this is your thread but Obama is going to lose big time. Chicago thugery and lies is all we will see till election day.

I strongly disagree with the opinion stated by Feisty Redhead from Roselle, Il. She, and all the other Obama disciples would call Romney a liar, no matter what he said.

Never mind the fact that it is Obama and Biden who were, and still are, lying about Romney's economic plan, and about his views on healthcare, and medicare.

I think Obama-shama-lama-ding-dongs dont like the fact that Romney actually fought back. I think they believed, up until last week, that he was supposed to lay down, and allow Obama to run roughshod all over him.

There are those of us who knew all along that Obama is in over his head. Last week confirmed it. Then, there are those who are in complete denial, and who refuse to admit that he just doesn't have the "gravitas" to be President of this once great nation.

Who knew that Obama's lack of leadership skills would be exposed on national TV, in such an important event as a debate?

Too much courtesy wasn't / isn't the problem. A lack of leadership skills is the problem, and there's just no way to compensate for that.

Romney lied about green jobs stimulus ($23 billion not $90 billion as he claimed). He lied about half of all green energy companies failing (number closer to 10%, only this high because of Chinese subsidy for their solar exports).

He lied about oil drilling on public lands.

In total, he misrepresented and distorted the truth 27 times in 36 minutes. One lie or distortion every 82 seconds and at estimated time of 20 seconds each, Romney lied or distorted 25% of the time he was talking.

The US must be the talk of all the other countries, Muslim brotherhood sacks two embassies, killing four people, ubama hides the fact that he didn't send the security that was asked for several times, And then ubama retailiates by sending them 3.1 billion dollars and an apology. What a jerk. Then he presides over the biggest welfare increase and even advertises in mexico for free food stamps if they come to the US. The real world leaders must be laughing their a$$ off. The president of the united states with 90million sheep behind him with their hands out waiting for more freebies. ubama is a total disgrace, him and pinocchio need to be on the next bus to kenya

"Later in the interview, CNN Anchor Soledad O’Brien asks, “Is it true that you voted to cut the funding for embassy security?”

Chaffetz answers, “Absolutely. Look we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have… 15,0000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, a private army there, for President Obama, in Baghdad. And we’re talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces. When you’re in touch economic times, you have to make difficult choices. You have to prioritize things.”

Changing all his position in one night --wipes all of it out. WOW!!!! We are a fickle bunch. One bad debate performance wipes out all the things Obama achieved. How well he has been doing. He never changes his position--- basically says what he going to do (you don't have to like it) but it never changes. How easily do we give up. (SHAME).

They still can't say WHY they suddenly like him, they still can't defend any of his principles or positions (well, I guess they'd actually have to know what his principles and positions ARE first, wouldn't they?) and in short, I think half of his new-found ardent supporters still despise him every bit as much as they did before the "debate"......but hey, it's like Charlie Sheen said.

                                                                  "WINNING!"

Private- sector borrowing is down by $4 trillion to $40.2 trillion.

Reduced borrowing means there is less competition for the U.S. Treasury Department as it sells debt to fund spending programs to help the nation recover from the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. Credit-rating firms are discounting the improvement even as debt, equity and currency markets suggest the U.S. is more creditworthy than before Standard & Poor’s stripped the nation of its AAA grade in 2011.

He also paid a $850,000.00 settlement over the Lewinski incident.

Did you live under a rock all of your life that you didn't know the facts about Clinton? You DID know that absolutely every Republican on the committee urging his investigation was later shown to be having affairs of their own. Ken Starr, the GOP's prosecutor, was having an affair. Newt Gingrich was in one of his many affairs.

The fact is, if every eligible voter could vote just by tapping their cel phone, Obama would win in a landslide. He is that popular. It's about how many people end up voting. It's still unlikely Romney could ever become President; but even if it happened, most Americans would be opposed to him.

This isn't Dancing with the Stars, where you vote 12 times for your favorite. Oh, but hey...maybe come January when Obama is back in Chicago, he can sign up for the next season!

He got voted in because of his color and will be voted out because he is useless. great vacationer though, one billion dollars in four years, that has to be a record.

Makes his little sheep think the big bad romney wants to take their welfare away and make them do work to earn their way. Amazes me how these welfare cases can live on a couple hundred dollars a week and be happy with ubama. I think most of them work under the table also.

The "tax the rich" thingy will only generate about 9 days of Obama's annual deficits, so that won't work. He will not push for a budget, because that will make him accountable.

I don't think so. The truth is that the Obama campaign wants the voters to believe Obama blew the debate rather than telling the truth that Obama has no argument against what Romney was saying. Obama didn't blow the debate, he LOST the debate. Plain and simple! No explanation (or excuse as Obama is known for) needed for me.

                                                                                            5. He will fix the country's economic woes by putting people back to work...more people are unemployed now that when he took office. Economic growth has declined over the past 2 years.

                                                                                            6. He would fix America's medical industry....yes he fixed it to the tune of insurance rates going up because of the Obamacare requirements.

Need I go on? So if you libs want to play the lie card, we right winger's have plenty of ammunition to throw back at you. Besides, how do you know Romney is lying? He hasn't even been elected yet. We do know Obama has lied based on his record alone.

Intelligent voters who watched McCain pick brainless Palin then come up and say "we have no problems with our economy" and two days later "suspend" his campaign to "work on the economy" were the people who knew better than to elect clueless McCain/Palin. We will be the ones to re-elect President Obama over the lying Mitt Romney - for the sake of the country.

How they can look around and think we're better off is beyond me. They speak about this incompetent community organizer as if he's the Messiah himself. He can do nothing wrong in their eyes. Even as the world around them crumbles, it's someone else's fault. Romney is a liar because their messiah says so. They have no grasp of the issues, and no concept of reality outside of what MS(DNC) tells them. It's actually scary to watch the blind trust they give a man who is hell bent on destroying this country.

He really means the Liberals. Romney knows that all he needs to do is get those weak independents and the middle TO WIN. So he lied that now he cares about them.

They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine--for people who can afford them. They consider electrical power a great blessing--but only when the private power companies get their rake-off. They think American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people. And they admire of Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it.”

But he did significant damage to his image and credibility by letting Romney make so many outrageous statements without immediately confronting him. I HOPE he can repair the damage in the next debate and with the remaining time in his campaign.

He was obviously taken off guard by the GOP Chameleon, as were most of us, and he seemed to take the high road by not firing back with "You lie!" like that dolt from South Carolina did so rudely to the President one time in a Joint Session of Congress.

Just look at the number of clueless people that abound today. Just look at all the illegal aliens that have invaded OUR country. 'Too polite'???? No, he knew he was beaten, he knew he had no answer for the truth. This past four years have been a total failure, but hey.........he did close the doughnut hole for seniors and their prescriptions. Now, he will play "1984", and decide who lives and who doesn't. He follows Hitler in deciding what older folks get and what they don't, whether they live or die!! We ALL, get older folks, and the time is nigh when all those who think obammy is a 'saint', will wake up one day and wonder................' How did this all happen'!!!!

I ask does it mean you are a GOOD BUSINESSMAN because you make a Ton of Money at the expense of CLOSING DOWN BUSINESSES shipping jobs overseas. How has the country benefited overall from Mitt and Bain Capital Business Experience?

The Mafia and the Drug Cartels are good Businessmen, and do they or do they not make A TON OF MONEY and ship jobs everywhere and employ people? Are they good for their Countries?

Does Romney fit that profile for you. He does to me. So tell me again how his businessman Status would make him more suitable for the Presidency than the current Occupant?

                                                                                                                            1. He saved GM: FACT: Over 2/3 of the jobs "saved' at GM were jobs overseas. While GM bondholders who were supposed to have equal rights as unsecured creditors were thrown under the bus and given pennies on the dollar, the UAW had its jobs, pensions and benefits protected by Team Obama. In fact, GM still had over $100 billion of pension obligations on its books, of which about $20 billion were underfunded, when it exited bankruptcy. And Obama's Auto Task Force insisted that thousands of jobs at non-union dealerships be cut while using taxpayer money to preserve UAW jobs. GM stock needs to sell for $50+ a share for the taxpayers to break even, it is elling for $24+ a share.

                                                                                                                            2. Bin Laden was killed on his orders: Fact: Bin Laden is dead and so is Ambassador Stevens, both were killed because of Obama's policies!

                                                                                                                            3. Health Care: We are going to be gifted with a healthcare plan that we are forced to purchase, and fined if we don't, which reportedly covers ten million more people without adding a single new doctor, but provides for sixteen thousand new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman doesn't understand it, passed by congress, that didn't read it, but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief, who didn't pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that is broke.

If you voted for Obama in 2008 because he is black and you wanted to prove that you were not a racist, then vote for Romney in 2012 to prove that you are not an IDIOT!

Obama solely because he is Black, just like you refuse to vote for him for the same reason..ummm Romney is Mexican, but no one addresses this...that part is swept under the rug, but I'm constantly reminded Obama, Muslim, Obama is Black..really? What happened to his white momma the white side? What did you do with her? Romney Mormon..a religion? By the way that did not allow Black folks to join until the last 20 years..read up...but that's ok too. If President Obama did not save the auto industry, more than just auto workers would have been hurt..suppliers, fuel haulers..the dominoe effect..but no one's looking outside the box! Sorry but Palin as VP would have been a FK'G joke..she was dumb as a two rocks! At least with 2 stones you can start a fire!!!!!!! No other family has been disrepected as much as the Obama's, his wife, his daughter's the media/society disrepected them out right...Really human kind?? I'm just sayin....

                                                                                                                              PS

Romney won't do any better..I really hope he does win kinda..I want to see if this America will disrepect his wife and sons and hang chairs! Remind us of his Mexican hertiage like they're doing the Black guy who can't catch a break......gas prices go up Obama's fault...gas goes down, Middleasterns/Arabic are doing it....price of anything goes up..Obama's fault.. prices get lowered....the government did it...I'm just sayin....tired of America's double standard of life!!!!

Are you saying he's not a citizen? He was born in Detroit, and yes his father was born in Mexico, so? Obama is of Kenyan heritage; Kennedy was of Irish heritage, as is Joe Biden. What's the point? As far as his momma's white side, he's the one that threw that under the bus once he was elected as 'the first black president'. He hasn't pitched that line this season at all, has he? Let me stop laughing at your statement that the media has disrespected the Obama's. Are you kidding me? You really are delusional! The left has been practicing media malpractice since day one, showing him as the messiah, and her as the next Jackie Kennedy (not even close, btw). Oh, and Massachusetts didn't 'keep his azz'? He chose not to run for re-election, it's not as if he ran and lost. I applaud your honesty though for admitting that the only reason you're voting for the incompetent fool is because he's black.
