Obama urges supporters not to lose enthusiasm

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- With a touch of humor and at one point admonition, President Obama urged supporters at a Los Angeles fundraiser here not to lose enthusiasm for his campaign just because he had one lousy debate performance.

The president kicked off his remarks with an allusion to last Wednesday night that the whole crowd seemed to pick up on. Praising his opening acts at the Nokia Theater here, which included Stevie Wonder, Jon Bon Jovi and Katy Perry, Obama said, “These guys perform flawlessly night after night.”

“I can’t always say the same,” he continued, waiting a beat for comic timing.

And later he reminded his audience that he had some imperfect moments during the last campaign as well.

“Everybody always remembers the victory but they don’t always remember the bumps in the road; things always look good in retrospect.

“But in the middle of it, we were – we made all kinds of mistakes. We goofed up, I goofed up, but the American people carried us forward,” urging his supporters not to forget that they stuck by him even when he hiccupped in 2008 – something he hopes they do over the next 30 days.

I remind you that George W. Buffoon and his party who controlled government for 6 of 8 years of his reign of horror INHERITED A BALANCED BUDGET AND A STRONG ECONOMY, UNEMPLOYMENT AT AROUND 3.5%.

JUST LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID! If you want to blame Obama, go for it. Idiot.

So you acknowledge that Bush inherited a balanced budget and a strong economy and turned it into a $1.4 Trillion deficit, collapsing everything and skyrocketing unemployment?

Good, we are getting somewhere. You can't fix a problem until you identify what caused it.

Yea and that's why Obama hired Bush's economic adviser and stay the Bush economic course of bailout, stimulus, and tax cuts to the rich because they destroyed the economy. It's all Bush's fault that the economy isn't growing under Obama for introducing Bernanke to Obama.

DUH! I'm an Obama supporter that proves that stupidity is a learned skill Obama supporters have learned to master. DUH!

I feel like I've been dragged into the gutter of low intelligence and hatred commonly found in the great trailer park societies of America. God bless you both, but I have no interest in continuing this debate with people who can somehow justify blaming Obama for inheriting a $1.4 Trillion annual shortfall and catastrophic free-fall of everything, from the guy who inherited a balanced budget and strong economy. Hate is truly blinding. You two just proved it.

OH Petty insults of trailer parks. i see that as a white flag of surrrender leftard.

Clinton had a Republican controlled congress, didn't he? Bush had the same democratic congress that Obama had when all the spending occurred.

It would help if you bother to get informed before you post, but that is a common practice of you Obama supporters; run your mouth offs out of ignorance.

I don't know about the Obama supporter having something positive to talk about, but the democrats sure do.

Now they can make the claim that President Carter is no longer the worse President in this countries history with that socialist Obama replacing him.

Last night, the Obama campaign blasted out another email claiming that Mitt Romney's tax plan would either require raising taxes on the middle class or blowing a hole in the deficit. "Even the studies that Romney has cited to claim his plan adds up still show he would need to raise middle-class taxes," said the Obama campaign press release. "In fact, Harvard economist Martin Feldstein and Princeton economist Harvey Rosen both concede that paying for Romney’s tax cuts would require large tax increases on families making between $100,000 and $200,000."

But that's not true. Princeton professor Harvey Rosen tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD in an email that the Obama campaign is misrepresenting his paper on Romney's tax plan:

I can’t tell exactly how the Obama campaign reached that characterization of my work. It might be that they assume that Governor Romney wants to keep the taxes from the Affordable Care Act in place, despite the fact that the Governor has called for its complete repeal. The main conclusion of my study is that under plausible assumptions, a proposal along the lines suggested by Governor Romney can both be revenue neutral and keep the net tax burden on taxpayers with incomes above $200,000 about the same. That is, an increase in the tax burden on lower and middle income individuals is not required in order to make the overall plan revenue neutral.

You can check the math that shows Romney's plan is mathematically possible here.

The professional core of the U.S. military overwhelmingly favors Mitt Romney over President Obama in the upcoming election — but not because of any particular military issues, according to a new poll of more than 3,100 active and reserve troops.

Respondents rated the economy and the candidates’ character as their most important considerations and all but ignored the war in Afghanistan as an issue of concern.

The Military Times Poll is a secure email survey of active-duty, National Guard and reserve members who are subscribers to the Military Times newspapers (see How We Did It, below).

This population is older and more senior than the military population at large, but it is representative of the professional core of the all-volunteer force.

The 3,100 respondents — roughly two-thirds active-duty and one-third reserve component members — are about 80 percent white and 91 percent male. Forty percent are in paygrades E-5 through E-8, while more than 35 percent are in paygrades O-3 through O-5.

Almost 80 percent of respondents have a college degree — including 27 percent with a graduate degree and more than 11 percent with a post-graduate degree — while an additional 18.5 percent have some college under their belts.

And they are battle-hardened; almost 29 percent have spent more than two cumulative years deployed since 9/11, while a similar percentage has spent one to two cumulative years deployed.

Romney favored by a 2 to 1 margin in military.

Romney certainly isn't the end all be all, he can't walk on water or part the oceans but he is better equipped than obama to run the country and get our fiscal house back in order. Obama may have done okay if he'd been elected when the economy was doing well but that was not the case. He tried, he failed and now it's time to get someone with some practical business experience in there so we really can start moving "Forward."

The independently owned website Obama.com, which steers users to the president's

donations to the campaign, according to a new report. The Government
Accountability Institute today released details of an eight-month probe into
fundraising by the presidential candidates and all House and Senate candidates
that also shows that the president's outreach and fundraising have targeted
websites in Chinese, Arabic, Thai, and Korean. Generally, donations from
                                    foreign nations are illegal.

The 108-page analysis from the group that made news in an earlier report that suggested
President Obama skips many of his national security briefings studied security
flaws in credit card fundraising conducted by Obama may have security flaws,
said the report. But it devotes a large section of its effort to concerns about
donations to the Obama campaign. Secrets reported late Thursday that a TV
network, national magazine and national website were working on the story but
were being pressured by the Obama campaign to kill it. Sources said the story
was still on hold today. ABC News, however, has teased one element of the
story: the existence of fake Democratic fundraising websites. The report
suggests that many of the donations to Obama re-election campaign have come
                                    from foreign sources.

Certainly not what most would refer to as independent-minded journalists: Robert Novak, Ann Coulter, Terrence P. Jeffery and John Gizzi. Occasional contributors have included Pat Buchanan, Sean Hannity, Newt Gingrich and Oliver North, as well as conservative celebrities such as Ted Nugent, Chuck Norris and Pat Sajak.

Now there's a group of fair-minded, "fair and balanced" people for you! Auntie, why don't you take your drivel to the Faux News website where the brain-dead people who occupy it are apt to believe you.

And let me add that the National Review, Weekly Standard, and a rag produced by some bunch of trigger-happy Marines hardly passes muster for legitimate reporting. God lady, you're a real piece of work.

The Government Accountability Institute (GAI) today released details of an eight-month probe into fundraising by the presidential candidates and all House and Senate candidates that also shows that the president's outreach and fundraising have targeted websites in Chinese, Arabic, Thai, and Korean. Donations from foreign nations are illegal.

Sources say that Obama was briefed on the GAI report just prior to last weeks debate, and attributes his dismal performance during the debate to the knowledge of the report being issued.

How can people support Obama when the truth is out there. Obama supporters need to hear: 1. Back in 1961 people of color were called 'Negroes.' So how can the Obama 'birth certificate' state he is "African-American" when the term wasn't even used at that time ?

                                                2. The birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama's birth as August 4, 1961 & Lists Barack Hussein Obama as his father. No big deal, right ? At the time of Obama's birth, it also shows that his father is aged 25 years old, and that Obama's father was born in " Kenya , East Africa". This wouldn't seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama's birth, and 27 years after his father's birth. How could Obama's father have been born in a country that did not yet exist? Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as the "British East Africa Protectorate". ()

                                                3. On the Birth Certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is "Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital". This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called "KauiKeolani Children's Hospital" and "Kapi'olani Maternity Home", respectively. The name did not change to Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two hospitals merged.

How can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978 ?

                                                ()

Why hasn't this been discussed in the major media ?
                                                4. Perhaps a clue comes from Obama’s book on his father. He states how proud he is of his father fighting in WW II. I’m not a math genius, so I may need some help from you. Barack Obama’s “birth certificate” says his father was 25 years old in 1961 when he was born. That should have put his father’s date of birth approximately 1936—if my math holds (Honest! I did that without a calculator!!!) Now we need a non-revised history book—one that hasn't been altered to satisfy the author’s goals—to verify that WW II was basically between 1939 and 1945. Just how many 3 year olds fight in wars? Even in the latest stages of WW II his father wouldn't have been more than 9. Does that mean that Mr. Obama is a liar, or simply chooses to alter the facts to satisfy his imagination or political purposes ?

I support Obama's re-election but if he doesn't do much better in the second debate the enthusiasm he's asking for will all but disappear.

auntie, I have a hunch you don't have the vaguest idea what socialism amounts to. Do you think Medicare is socialism. Do you think tax loopholes are socialistic? Do you believe that food programs in schools constitute socialism? Do you think that providing supplemental income to severely disabled people is socialism?

Ayn Rand must be your heroine, which is ver sad.

Corruption: Exposing Barack Obama’s Illegal Foreign Campaign Money Loophole

A new report obtained by Townhall from the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute [GAI] shows the Obama campaign has potentially violated federal election law by failing to prevent the use of fraudulent or foreign credit card transactions on the official Obama for America [OFA] donation webpage.

…Because of the lack of a CVV code requirement, the door is opened for OFA to accept robo-donations, or in other words, large numbers of small and automatic donations made online to evade FEC reporting requirements. Although it isn’t illegal to decline the use of a secure CVV credit card code for campaign donations, it is illegal to accept campaign donations from foreign sources.

…A large part of the Team Obama operation is outsourced. More than 200 domain names with the word “Obama” in the web address have been purchased. The most significant of these websites may be Obama.com, which is owned by an Obama bundler in Shanghai, China with “questionable business ties to state-run Chinese enterprises,” according to the report.

… Attorney Kenneth Sukhia analyzed the GAI’s findings and this revelation in the following way in a separate report:

“Because a campaign’s decision to opt out of the standard security measures and to pay more to receive less information about their contributors defies all conventional campaign logic, and because it is difficult to identify a more plausible motive, there is reason to suspect that such decisions may be motivated by the belief that more money could be raised through foreign contributions than lost in added fees by declining security tools designed to stop them.”

…As reported over the weekend, the Obama campaign raised $181 million in September aloneonly 2 percent of those donations are required to be reported to the FEC.

….Although GAI’s findings were most prominent with Obama for America, the “CCV loophole” is a problem across the political spectrum. The report found nearly half of Congress is at least vulnerable to fraud and foreign donations.

The plastic smile Romney pasted to his face each time he rushed through a well-memorized speech he plugged in really bothered me. Looked like he was wearing a Halloween mask.

His party must have noticed during his campaigning that part of the time his face was frozen while he spoke and he didn't even blink, then suddenly he would be speaking and blinking rapidly. I'm certain one of those indicated untruthfulness, but I'm not sure which. Now we have plastic Romney.

There is a lot more about Romney that we don't like. Such as his hiding his tax returns even though he demanded Lyin Ryan to submit his and his dad said he should release 10 years if he wants to be taken credibly as a candidate for president. We also dont like his traitorous tax strategy to hide his money in off shore banks. Or his committed mean spirit as CEO of Bain as he crushed citizens lives to make a few more bucks. He has shown his disrespect for 47% of Americans... He will say anything to get elected except what he will actually do if, god forbid, he gets into the White House. Get it?
