Obama urges supporters not to lose enthusiasm

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- With a touch of humor and at one point admonition, President Obama urged supporters at a Los Angeles fundraiser here not to lose enthusiasm for his campaign just because he had one lousy debate performance.

The president kicked off his remarks with an allusion to last Wednesday night that the whole crowd seemed to pick up on. Praising his opening acts at the Nokia Theater here, which included Stevie Wonder, Jon Bon Jovi and Katy Perry, Obama said, “These guys perform flawlessly night after night.”

“I can’t always say the same,” he continued, waiting a beat for comic timing.

And later he reminded his audience that he had some imperfect moments during the last campaign as well.

“Everybody always remembers the victory but they don’t always remember the bumps in the road; things always look good in retrospect.

“But in the middle of it, we were – we made all kinds of mistakes. We goofed up, I goofed up, but the American people carried us forward,” urging his supporters not to forget that they stuck by him even when he hiccupped in 2008 – something he hopes they do over the next 30 days.

It seems the momentum is Romney's side. Recent polling (released today but polled before the Presidents poor showing at the debate) show independents shifting toward Romney. I also have a feeling that, if anything, the Vice Presidential debates will increase the momentum further into Romney's favor. I may be wrong but I just don't see Biden being able to go toe to toe with Ryan. The debate is sure to be bloodier than the first Presidential debate, partially because VP's tend to be the attack dogs during elections and probably more because the administration can't afford to turn in another milquetoast performance. Whatever happens, whoever wins, I'll just be glad come November it will be over.

Ryan-Obozo should be a HOOT. I am planning on having a CIRCUS EVENT, with O-Biden-Bozo as
the CLOWN. Why would the Dem-o-wipes choose such a FOOL to be Vice President??
It CERTAINLY could NOT have been NoBamas decision!! NoBama is obviously an UNCLE TOM for the Ultra-Liberals???

I was impressed because Romney had the guts to tell the moderator, an employee of PBS, that he was going to have to cut government programs if they're not worth borrowing money from China to pay for. Sounds like someone who care about the future of America to me.

Folks voting for Obama fall into 3 categories: 1) Those who want something for nothing; 2) Emotional thinkers; or 3) the uninformed. This isn't a personality contest people... it's not even about social issues (gays, abortion, etc). It's about the economy going down the tubes and our current perceived weakness around with world enemies. Now, who do you want to get us out of this 'mess'? How about someone who did that for a living in the private sector? ROMNEY 2012! He's going to creme Obama in foreign policy debates!

It is actually pathetic that the Office of President has been reduced to the used piece of
Toilet Paper that is NoBama after the A$$-whipping he got, and deserved.
Subversive SOB actually believes NO ONE in America should have a better
Standard of Living than anyone in Kenya. He believes the Muslim Brotherhood
would be a better SuperPower than America, and has proven it by his LYING BS
about the Libya debacle. IMPEACHMENT NOW

Actually after doing my own research, most of the jobs created by Obama were government jobs therefore the salaries are paid by other tax payers instead of created by small businesses or corporations. Over 40% growth in government jobs. That is not good and just one of many reasons I am not voting for him this time around.

Obama didn't just "goof up" at the debate. He has Goofed up the entire time as President. No corrections for the mistakes he has made. Everyone now can see how the media and the democrats are scrambling trying to save face, but the hammer has come down. Romney is a sure win in this upcoming election and even the media won't be able to control this one. Romney/Paul all the way. So live with your mistakes.

Obama just can't accept defete and go away. I am not in to the Republican or Democrat party but Obama has put our childrens children in debt and I do not like that. I don't want my children slaving 70% of each dollar to this government and Obama is directly responsable. Not any one but him, he is the one that has put us 16 trillion in the hole and this is unaceptable.

It is a GOOD THING that Romney took NoBama to the woodshed and spanked his A$$.
The US cannot continue this path of unsustained spending with no controls, and
    NO LEADERSHIP direction.

America needs to realize that NoBama has a WORLD agenda, that drastically marginalizes
the US. He is NOT stupid or inept, although he is EXCELLENT at appearing that
way. His vision is that NO ONE in America should have a better Standard of
Living than anyone in Kenya, and that the Muslim Brotherhood would be MUCH
better to be a Superpower than America.

You should lose your enthusiasm! If fact you should lose everything but your shame that you support a man like this!

His labor department, after telling businesses that they should break the law, isn't that aiding and abeting a felony, come out of the blue with a 7.8% unemployment rate! Adding 850,000 par-time jobs after calling about 600 people then deciding that anyone at home earning ANYTHING at all will be counted as being part-time work at home emplyoees!!!!

What a joke, if it wasn't meant to skew the election by making THEIR BOSS look better that reality! Selling your keepsakes on ebay in an attempt to save yourself from living on the streets IS NOT EMPLOYMENT!

Even Jack Walsh, the retired president of GE has come out and said these numbers CAN NOT be beleaved!!!

It is desperation, which is where this bum has left us all! And, of course this number will be revised to reality JUST AFTER THE ELECTION!

But as I've said before this labor department, which has told business to break the law in order to aide the presidential election for Obama, are corrupt and felons and would count you selling a kidney as being employed!

Don't lose hope, remember Obamacare is here to help you, let's see how will that work? Remember every citizen must prove that they are insured.. but not everyone must prove they are a citizen.. many who are unable to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens.. yup, don't lose hope.

Lets see if I have this right. If Romney says something it's a lie, If Nobama says something like the Libia attack was a result of a movie trailor that's good. If Nobama did nothing during 2 years with a Dem house and Senate, thats good. because we only count the 2 years when he lost the house. I think I get it. It's like everything else this clown does, it's always someone else. To take responsibility is way to complicated. And you guys will live like good little sheep and believe anything he tells you. Your all such nice proper little followers. If 96% of blacks vote for Nobahma thats not racisim if one white person supports Romney that's racist. Now I get it thanks for setting us all straight. Oh and remember pay your taxes someones welfare check depends on it. He needs to raise taxes on the upper class because he ran out of money to give to all those hard working people looking for their hand out

The President said he made mistakes at the first debate. Yes he did he came into the first debate with the attitude that it was going to be a "walk in the park" well the President found out differently. His body langue proved it. The President look like he was being irritated on topics that Romeny was talking about. It's ture that the President look down at times he was studdering and stamering and had to take time to think because the President didn't have a "tela -a- prompter" in front of him. While Romeny look at the President and was smooth and confident on his answers. In my last comment I had commented that if Romeny keep Obama on the "ropes" he would win the first debate, and he did it looks like I was right. After an hour and half the debate went to Romeny with a unanimous decision. I don't think that the President is going to do any better on the second debate. The reason why I say this is because the Presidnet is more worried in getting re-elected than spending time practicing his debate skills which showed the President is not very good at debating. Debate No.2 will go to Romeny. This will be on " foreign policy" which the President is not doing very well right now. The Presient is acting like he's already won the election and all he doing is raising money and acting like a celebrity. There's one thing that the President is not taking into account is that if there a new President in November that Hollywood will have no use for the President because he's no longer the President and can't do anything for the liberals in Hollywood. Former First Lady Barbara Bush said after they her and President GHW Bush left the White House that they stopped getting invited to all the parties because he husband was no longer President. The same is going to be true for the Presidnet.

The Obama minions are our in force trying to B slap Romney. BO was sooooooo bad in the debate ..because he is just that bad ... Without his precious teleprompter he is in real deep s#**. He does not understand or know how to lead ( which is obvious by our worse than bad economy) and he is not able to be conversant about any issue because he does not really understand the nuts and bolts of any of them??? So all he does is attack his opponent ... Nobama in 2012 ... Maybe then our country might have a chance ?
