Obama urges supporters not to lose enthusiasm

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- With a touch of humor and at one point admonition, President Obama urged supporters at a Los Angeles fundraiser here not to lose enthusiasm for his campaign just because he had one lousy debate performance.

The president kicked off his remarks with an allusion to last Wednesday night that the whole crowd seemed to pick up on. Praising his opening acts at the Nokia Theater here, which included Stevie Wonder, Jon Bon Jovi and Katy Perry, Obama said, “These guys perform flawlessly night after night.”

“I can’t always say the same,” he continued, waiting a beat for comic timing.

And later he reminded his audience that he had some imperfect moments during the last campaign as well.

“Everybody always remembers the victory but they don’t always remember the bumps in the road; things always look good in retrospect.

“But in the middle of it, we were – we made all kinds of mistakes. We goofed up, I goofed up, but the American people carried us forward,” urging his supporters not to forget that they stuck by him even when he hiccupped in 2008 – something he hopes they do over the next 30 days.

TV: “Good afternoon, Governor Romney. Thank you for meeting with us to discuss your plan for the nation. Before we start, as we stand here on Thursday afternoon, do you accept that tomorrow will be Friday?”

Gov. Romney: “We have always supported the standard structure of the calendar and acknowledge that the public expect a regular system that provides the rhythm necessary for everyday planning and life structures. We feel very strongly about this.

TV: “So you do agree that tomorrow is Friday?”

Gov. Romney: “It isn’t important whether it is Friday or Monday. What is important is that unexpected changes don’t interfere with the normal expectations of the public - and this governor has a solid record in supporting those expectations.

TV: “But as today is Thursday, surely you can confirm that tomorrow is Friday?”

Gov. Romney: “Everything is relative and whether the next day is Wednesday or Sunday is dependent on where you stand at the time. We have never challenged the current system and have the full support of the Congress on this.

TV: “Well then, what day is tomorrow?

Gov. Romney: “Tomorrow is the next day in our plan to further develop our marvelous plan in many areas. We plan to continue providing better health care, reduced debt, reduced unemployment, controlled immigration and to be a world leader in controlling global warming.”

TV: “Returning to the question, can you not confirm that Friday is tomorrow?”

Gov. Romney: “Friday is always around. It has been around many times before and will be around again many more times. Which is why we need - as a responsible government - to plan and organize for the future. Not just for tomorrow, but for our children and their children.

TV: “Governor Romney, the viewers are waiting for your answer on what day you think tomorrow is?”

Gov. Romney: “We are dealing with bigger issues here. The Friday, Saturday, Sunday thing is not important or relevant to the scheme of things. They need to understand the critical issues and focus on the matters of concern, such as the condition of our nation and how we can continue to develop it so that all may reap the benefit.

TV: “I’m sorry, we seem to have lost the point here again. Are you saying that it isn’t Friday tomorrow?”

Gov. Romney: “The reality is that it is not important what day it is. What is important is how we handle the situation - and my plan is to handle it with a 5 point plan.

TV: “But we just want to know if you agree that it will be Friday tomorrow?”

Gov. Romney: “Let’s remain focused here. It is the nation that is important and we stand fast and rock steady in our dedication to the job in hand. In closing, let me say this one more time – we are fully committed to the task and have commissioned a report that will enable us to develop the plans for the future. Thank you.”

TV: “Governor?”

To bad we always get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to who we can vote for. Never was a Romney fan. Put him on the list just above Obama. Not to sure what Romney will do but am really scared of what another 4 years of Obama would do to this country. Just wish we had someone who would put their faith in the people instead of insisting the government run our lives.

Mitt Romney’s great healthcare plan…LIE.

Who is Jonathan Gruber…???

Jonathan Gruber, economics professor at MIT, was actually the designer of MA’s healthcare plan, not Mitt Romney.

Bigger lie…Actually Senator Kennedy was the muscle behind the MA healthcare plan, not Mitt Romney, and it could not have been achieved without his negotiations and influence.

But wait, it gets better…

… it was a government bailout. It was a result of Mitt Romney’s failed healthcare plan.

It was funded by your federal dollars., and is still being funded by your federal dollars, via subsidiaries.

The only reason MA has the healthcare plan that it does, is because MA’s healthcare was in dire straights, under Mitt Romney’s leadership.

Wait for it…

… it was paid for with 385 million dollars of federal money.

That’s right, your money.

Then they insured absolutely anyone they could find, with Medicare. Why…?

Because the federal dollars would match Medicare. That’s right, your money.

But wait, it gets even better…

Right now, federal Medicaid dollars continue to pay for both children and adults, for up to 300% of the poverty line in MA.

Have you figured it out yet…?

Yes, the entire State of Massachusetts is on FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE…!!!

Just speculating here…I wonder if the entire state of MA knows it falls in that 47% area…?

But this will never work for the rest of the country…

Here’s why…

He wants to provide insurance for the rest of the country another way.

He wants to cap the Medicaid dollars at whatever the state received last year, add 1%, and then let us on our own to fend for ourselves. Or in his own words “manage your poor the way you think best”.

You must understand people…that’s a cut to Medicaid to the tune of more than 600 billion dollars. This differs greatly from the generous deal that MA got.

He opposes giving money for healthcare at the federal level, and also refuses to give it at the state level.

That, on top of Romney’s reportable care act (Romney care) pushes Medicaid cuts to well above 1 trillion dollars.

Why is this important…?

It means that the rest of the states will not have the generous benefits that Massachusetts had.

This means that he will be “pulling up the ladder” so no other state can achieve healthcare the way MA has.

Under Romney’s plan, there is no way to achieve universal healthcare.

Indeed, if Medicare is cut, even the current healthcare plan in Massachusetts will not survive.

The only reason Massachusetts healthcare plan has continued to survive, is from a generous waiver, first from the Bush administration, and yes, wait for it…

…then from the Obama administration, for billions and billions of dollars.

Massachusetts…your own worst enemy…? Yes !

Mitt’s cut to Medicare will put the burden of healthcare solely on the state’s tax-payer dollars.

They can not afford that, and the healthcare plan will wither away.

Furthermore, the Romney care plan, will cut Medicaid by 700 billion dollars.

More facts…By the year 2022 ( only ten years down the road ), Obama care will have 33 million more people under health care coverage.

Romney care will have 18 million fewer Americans with health care coverage.

These are all facts contributed by Jonathan Gruber, the designer of Romney’s MA healthcare plan.

Flip…Mitt Romney said…The Middle East will "remain an unsolved problem... and we will kick that ball down the field". He dismissed Israel's concerns about Iran as mere "noise" that he prefers to "block out." And at a time when Israel needs America to stand with it, he declined to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Flop…At the Fox News Google debate in September of 2011, Governor Romney was asked how he would address the middle east given the new realities in the region. He answered that the first action should be to ensure that everyone knows that the US will stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel and not let any light be shown between the two of you.

Flip…Mitt Romney said…"There are 47% who are with him(Obama)” (lower income families, elderly, veterans, disabled Americans) who are dependent upon government,” Mr Romney said in the video that his role "is not to worry about those people”.

Flop…“It’s not those at the low end and it’s certainly not for those at the very high end. It’s for the great middle class, the 80 to 90 percent of us in this country.”

Flip…Mitt Romney said…”I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country, and you will never see me wavering on that”.

Flop…"I believe people understand that I'm firmly pro-life.

Flipity-Flop…“When I am asked if I am pro-choice or pro-life, I say I refuse to accept either label.

Flip/Flop/Flip…On stem cell research…‘Look, you don’t have to think about this stem cell research as a moral issue, because we kill the embryos after 14 days.’

Flip…Mitt Romney said…“The middle class should not be expecting a cut in taxes because I'm also going to lower deductions and exemptions,”

Flop…“My own view with regards to tax policy is that we ought to provide help to the people that have been hurt most by the Obama economy, and that’s the middle class.”

Flip…Mitt Romney said… Millionaire Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Wednesday that he was seeking better tax policies for people in the middle class like himself.

Fact…The former Massachusetts governor has a net worth estimated at 250 million dollars.

Flip…“I think I’m best off to describe my own positions. And my positions, I think I’ve just described for you – secure the border, employment verification and no special pathway to citizenship.”

Flop…Mitt Romney said illegal immigrants should have a chance to obtain citizenship.”

Flipity Flop…Mitt actually employed a contractor, of whom had 5 illegal immigrants working at his site, on his own ranch.

Flip…Gov. Mitt Romney (R) signed a bill Wednesday (4-12-06) requiring all Massachusetts residents to purchase health insurance.

Flop…He’s now a critic of his own biggest achievement.

Worth Repeating…

Obama - You didn't goof up! You just don't have anything positive that you have done in 4 years that you can even talk about. However, you have plenty of negative things that you could talk about regarding all the damage you have done to the country and unlimited reasons as to why the country should not want your sorry ass for another 4 years. Your idea of "not goofing up" can only be based on how many vitrious lies and worthless promises you can flap out of your oral cavities. Good speeches just don't cut it. We don't care how well you can make a speech. It's all about truth, content and mostly your past actions. It's not about reading speeches (written for you) from your teleprompter - although that seems to create an orgasm from your brainless supporters that don't have enough sense to realize that you're screwing up the country along with all of our lives. The rest of the debates are not going to be any different because Romney is not going to just stand there and let you continue trying to get by with spouting out your continued lies. You're on your own buddy and without your teleprompter so expect to have your worthless ass riddled again in the next debates.

Did Romney say he was completely wrong about his comment on the 47% ? How does he think about them now, that he has suddenly without any reason, all of a sudden claims that they are a productive large part of our country that still have a right to vote in the elections. What exactly made him change so drastically so suddenly?

Another thing people under 55 years old need to think about is, where will they get the extra 6,400.00 every year to pay for their health care when they retire in a short time from now!

Dale - Did you listen to what Romney said in explaining the 47%? He did not mean that he did not care for the 47%. When he made the statement, he simply was inferring that there was 47% in the country that would vote for Obama regardless and would not vote for him. In other words, it didn't make any difference as to what Romney could say or how bad Obama has performed. If Obama was the devil himself, there are 47% that would still probably vote for him. As hard as it is to understand why anyone would want another 4 years of Obama's destruction to the country - and to many of those who would vote for him regardless of the consequences they will personally suffer because of it, it's probably true. Obama's appeal for voters is focused on emotion and not substance. That is fact! Therefore, if Romney is going to win the election, he can't focus on the 47% in order to win the election. That in no way infers or implies that he doesn't care about the well-being of the 47%. Neither does it imply that he is somehow going to take out vengeance on that segment of America. Obama and the liberals use that as a talking point only because they have nothing else to talk about other than lies and devisiveness. Romney's life has been about taking care of needy people. Did you see how many millions of dollars he donated to charities and that he also did not take full credit for doing so on his taxes so that he would have to pay taxes - even on money he could have deducted. His life has been about taking care of needy people because his heart is there. Why don't you look at the pittance that Joe Biden has donated to charities?

The reality is here that Obama was totally intimidated by Mitt Romney just highlighting his total lack of ability in every thing that he, and his wife, are trying to do, and he thinks that appearing on TV the night before Biden gets eaten alive by Paul Ryan, in the next debate, will help him. Why didn't he just say the truth to the crowd, that he didn't just have a ' bump in the road ' he was completely humiliated by someone with way superior intelligence than he - and he has to go though it twice more! Thank goodness that after three years, and eleven months ( one month before the election ) that the unemployment figures ' rose ' just a tiny bit, and he quickly said to his followers, ' See, I told you it would work! ' And they cheered!!!!!! Thank goodness, this snake oil salesman wasn't selling bridges. To his ' believers ', he probably would have sold some. That is what he's count on you folks for, you know!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

Let's just forget all the hype and false promises that candidate Obama made and the left praised as the second coming. Even Hillary Clinton saw through his BS and said; "Now I could stand up here and say, let's get unified, the sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing," "And everyone will know we should do the right thing, and the world will be perfect."

I hope President will be less friendly with Mr. Romney during next 2 debate, with much more energy and with less words to say more…( in 2008, 15% undecided voters make there decision in last 30 days)… Good news: Obama adm. add 5,2 million jobs during last 31 mo and Obama’s Team will probable collect around $1 billion or so…I still believe that F. Pr. Bill Clinton is a huge help for Obama re-election, and I have NO doubt that Obama will be re-elected…Go Obama.

Yeah, Obama was a real friendly guy ! Only if you interpret confusion with friendliness.

5.2 million jobs in 31 months, at that rate it will not take but about 10 years to get the 23 million people that's out of work back to work !

Oops ! I forgot to figure in the new people that will be entering the work place during that decade !

No wonder Obama depends on a teleprompter so heavily to help him weave his lies !

All we heard from the DumocRATS and the LibTARDS is what a brilliant orator Obama is and how he would destroy Romney at the debate.

In reality, Obama was just a lazy clown who was unprepared and unable to function without a teleprompter !

Hats off to John Kerry for helping Obama out !

Obamites will still be in the stands long after their team has lost, packed it up and gone home, collecting little pieces of wet confetti and soggy bumper stickers.

This article makes Obama look like a beggar for votes. He all but admits he does not deserve it and has readily admitted he has done a poor job. Now if we could get the Liberals and media to just realize that.

The Democrat Party IS the new American Communist Party, and most of the Ultra Liberals readily
espouse that. If you do not agree with the Anti-God, Anti-Israel, overthrow the
wealthy and distribute their wealth to the Poor (including the deadbeats) Class
Warfare tactics, YOU DON'T BELONG IN THE MODERN DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

Do you really want to support the views of Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, vehemently shout down ALL religious faith, recklessly spend the economy into mega-more trillions of debt while pandering to every special interest group to get more votes
