Ryan gets in fall spirit before VP debate

KENOSHA, Wis. – Four days before the vice presidential debate -- arguably one of the most important political moments of his life so far – Paul Ryan spent the day with his family preparing for Halloween.

Ryan, his wife Janna and their three children, Liza, Charlie and Sam, stopped at Apple Holler, a family farm in Sturtevant, Wis., to pick pumpkins – a Ryan family tradition.

The seven-term Wisconsin congressman noted that his family enjoys carving their pumpkins -- but likely wouldn’t do that until next week -- and said they "love" to scoop out the seeds and toast them.

After Ryan hauled a wagon nearly 50 yards to the pumpkin patch, the family carefully selected four of the largest pumpkins they could find. The winning pumpkins weighed in at 49 pounds, 37 pounds, 35 pounds, and 34 pounds.

The presidential race heated up as Mitt Romney continued his assault of President Obama's record in Florida, saying that a 7.8 percent unemployment rate is nothing to celebrate. NBC's Ron Mott reports.

Two weeks ago in New London, N.H., Vice President Joe Biden visited a pumpkin patch where he bought a 36.75-pound pumpkin.

Asked about the upcoming Oct. 11th debate with the vice president, Ryan maintained a jovial spirit.

"What debate?" he joked. "Oh, yeah – I'd better get ready for that."

Asked how his debate prep was going – he did just spend four days preparing in Virginia -- Ryan laughed: "You know I'd better get started. You just reminded me. No, it’s going well."

After the trip to the local farm, Ryan stopped at Tenuta's Deli here -- his favorite shop to buy spices for venison sausage. He wrapped up the long Sunday -- which he typically takes off to spend in Janesville with his family – speaking at the Annual Columbus Day Dinner hosted by the Italian American Society of Kenosha. He has missed the event only once during his time as a congressman.

"In 14 years – we were just reciting this – I missed this dinner once and it was because of our final Lamaze class in 2001. And my boss made me go to Lamaze," Ryan said at the dinner, referring to his wife.

Monday, the VP nominee will hold two events in Ohio and Michigan, which will likely be the last times Ryan will appear in public before the only vice presidential debate of the campaign cycle.

Poor Lyin' is definitely a rising star in the GOP...

..

But the deciding factor in the election is the man on top of the ticket. Mitt agrees with Poor Lyin..and wants to vulturize MediCare, making more profits for his fellow 1%, destroying the 47% - but Mitt, 47% - that's a lot of lives to destroy.

He won't have to be. Ryan will sweep the floor with him and then give him a minor point or two to soften the blow so Joe doesn't go cardiac and drop.

JohnRN...

Mitt is the main character in a ongoing horror movie...

Politics is showbiz for ugly people, as one saying goes...but the movie Mitt is starring is darn scary...

1. he is going to destroy the bottom 47%, eating them alive...

2. He is going to vulturize MediCare, destroying seniors.

3. As a vulture, he is going to eat the liver of Prometheus who brought fire to civilize humans.

...

the list can go on for a while.

Even FOX NEWS calls RYAN A LIAR

Deceiving

On the other hand, to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to facts, Ryan’s speech was an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies and misrepresentations slipped into a single political speech. On this measure, while it was Romney who ran the Olympics, Ryan earned the gold.

It is evident the main objective of the Tea Party and GOP is to benefit, and protect, the special interests of the wealthy and big corporations, with tax credits and loopholes, while hurting everyone else. They have failed to pass any legislation that would help the economy or promote jobs, a national Tea Party group posted a pledge online asking small business owners to stop creating jobs and sink our economy even further.

Vote all Republicans out of office.

War on women,
War on fuel,
War on America,
What are we to do?

Fast and Furious,
And Benghazi too.
Several are dead,
Because of you.

Splitting the country,
In more ways than one.
You won't be happy,
Until you have won.

Wasted tax dollars,
Right down the drain
.And you want more,
You are inflicting such pain.

On November the sixth,
I will cast my vote.
And I hope and pray,
This is far as it goes.

I am a proud veteran,
Who went to Viet Nam.
And I will not bury,
My head in the sand.

To "The Messiah" Obama,
You must go.
For the good of the country,
God please make it so.

I am surprised that Mitt is not hiding Ryan like he does his taxes and tax cut plans. What is Ryan going to say when Biden answers a question about accomplishments with this.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/25/robert-draper-anti-obama-campaign_n_1452899.html

It will be a good time to let the American public know what they did. Will Ryan really want to talk about the 716 billion he is stealing from Medicare? But others are correct, Ryan has a record to talk about and his boss seems to like his record on certain days, not so much on others just like most of the positions he takes.

Reasons to fear Willard Romney. Williard believes when he
dies, because he is a baptized Mormon he will become a God! So no matter what
he does or says he will simply have to say he is sorry to God when he dies to
become a God.

Willard Believes Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and we
were all born as siblings in heaven to them both, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163).

God used to be a man on another planet, (Mormon Doctrine, p.
321)"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits
enthroned in yonder heavens!!!

God resides near a star called Kolob, (Pearl of Great Price,
p. 34-35; Mormon Doctrine, p. 428)

After you become a good Mormon, you have the potential of
becoming a god, (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345-347, 354.)Then
shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject
unto them," (D&C 132:20).

There are many gods, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163).

God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit
children.(Mormon Doctrine, p. 516).

Jesus' sacrifice was not able to cleanse us from all our
sins, (murder and repeated adultery are exceptions), (Journal of Discourses,
vol. 3, 1856, p. 247).

"ChristNot Begotten of Holy Ghost ...Christ was
begotten of God. He was not born without the aid of Man, and that Man was God!"
(Doctrines of Salvation, by Joseph Smith, 1954, 1:18).

If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration,
there would be no salvation (Mormon Doctrine, p. 670).

"One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by
Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of
God;(Miracle of Forgiveness p. 206).

Jesus' sacrifice was not able to cleanse us from all our
sins, (murder and repeated adultery are exceptions), (Journal of Discourses,
vol. 3, 1856, p. 247).

There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a
prophet of God (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p. 188

"As these sins are the result of individual acts it is
just that forgiveness for them should be conditioned on individual compliance
with prescribed requirements 'obedience to the laws and ordinances of the
Gospel,'" (Articles of Faith, p.79). Another words Man forgives you.

"Many men say there is one God; the Father, the Son and
the Holy Ghost are only one God. I say that is a strange God [anyhow]--three in
one and one in three. . .It is curious organization… All are crammed into one
God according to sectarianism (Christian faith). It would make the biggest God
in all the world. He would be a wonderfully big God--he would be a giant or a
monster," (Joseph Smith, Teachings, p. 372).

Do want a person who believes he is God to be President.

@Michael,

More unfounded "Obama is a Muslim" crap? Oh I forgot, the GOP takes facts and burns them. If the GOP had any real evidence that Obama is not a national there would have already been an impeachment hearing. Since there has not been one I can safely say that you have no bleeding evidence except the same old stupid conspiracy theory Birther nonsense that would not hold up to a ten second inspection.

@Brian

Better to be able to talk to yourself and answer yourself than not be able to. If you can answer your own questions it means you have the answers; I think we all agree that is the correct position to be in that situation. As they say, sometimes: genius and madness are often two sides of the same coin.

How's Ryan going to explain this? Paul Ryan's voting history speaks for itself. He has been against every piece of legislation to help homeowners, job growth, unemployment, small businesses. He voted "yea" to a taxation plan that would raise taxes on the middle class, remove certain deductions for families & allow more deductions for job outsourcing & foreign business endeavors. He DISAGREED with Obama Oil lease plan that would allow more drilling in areas that aren't as sensitive to spills, and he voted yea to increasing drilling by large fishing towns in Alaska & Mass. Ryan has done everything he said he would against Obama since the night of his inauguration, with his dishonest group of cronies. We don't need anyone to tell us to vote Obama/Biden 2012. Ryan's partisan legislation & his anti-middle class voting history speaks for itself.

What a loser. No wonder the American people are turning away from the GOP's failed agenda.

Yet any time you and I question the schemes of the do-gooders, we're denounced as being opposed to their humanitarian goals. It seems impossible to legitimately debate their solutions with the assumption that all of us share the desire to help the less fortunate. They tell us we're always "against," never "for" anything.

Ronald Reagan Address to the Nation, October 27, 1964

In the 19th century, the great French libertarian philosopher Frederic Bastiat who influenced many Americans nailed liberals like yourself in his book, the Law

Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all.
We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting persons to eat because we do not want the state to raise grain.”

Sailcat,

You have posted a lot of data, but no information.

Obama's debate showing reminded me of Joaquin Phoenix's "appearance" on David Letterman, the one Letterman concluded with "Joaquin, I am sorry you could not be with us tonight."

Biden will be what Texans refer to as "big hat, no cattle" except in Biden's case it will be "big hat, no head."

I am really looking forward to Thursday evening. Maybe as President pro-tem of the Senate, Biden can discuss some of the roughly two dozen jobs bills the house passed but Harry Reid refused to bring to the Senate floor. On the other hand, maybe he can discuss why the Senate hasn't passed a budget. LOL

What information can I provide from which you will not run away? The drop in unemployment to a level not seen since the failed administration of George Bush? Poll numbers that suggest the American people are more comfortable with the political ideology of President Obama than the GOP? The electoral college maps that clearly show President Obama is well ahead of your failed candidate in winning November's election? What data are you interested in that you do not fear to such and extent that you will deny it or pretend it is not relevant to your hallucinatory world view?

Juanita, re-watch the 2008 debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin. It's easy to find on youtube.

Joe handed Palin her ass on a velvet pillow, but he won't be wearing kid gloves when he takes on Lyin' Ryan.

Tell us, GOPers, what you ever saw in Sarah Palin again? Ryan is Palin in a striped suit and tie.

Go Joe! Make mincemeat out of that monkeyfaced poser!

GOP version of a recent Joe Biden gaffe - in the last 4 years, the Middle Class was buried...

But it's taken out of context -

the context is...Biden has criticized the Bush Tax cut For The Rich... which ...Biden claimed..correctly, of course...has buried the Middle Class.

Dangerous Minds

August and September's jobs numbers were 142,000 and 114,000 jobs respectively. The 4th and 5th worst jobs months of this year. Back in January and February when the jobs numbers were 275,000 and 259,000 the unemployment rate stayed steady at 8.3%, One month before the election it suddenly drops to 7.8% on an anemic 114,000 new jobs report. The numbers don't add up. Just like the drop from 8.3% to 8.1% on the August 142,000 jobs report. Basically in 2 months we go from 8.3% unemployment to 7.8% unemployment on less jobs created (256,000) than were created in January alone (275,000). And you wonder why we are skeptical?

Even FOX NEWS calls RYAN A LIAR

Distracting

And then there’s what Ryan didn’t talk about.

Ryan didn’t mention his extremist stance on banning all abortions with no exception for rape or incest, a stance that is out of touch with 75% of American voters.

Ryan didn’t mention his previous plan to hand over Social Security to Wall Street.

Ryan didn’t mention his numerous votes to raise spending and balloon the deficit when George W. Bush was president.

Ryan didn’t mention how his budget would eviscerate programs that help the poor and raise taxes on 95% of Americans in order to cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires even further and increase — yes, increase —the deficit.

You folks voting for Obama are fools. We are facing a $222 TRILLION dollar fiscal gap that is going to make Medicare and Medicaid and Social security a mute point. In order to close this gap, we will have to raise taxes 60% while simultaneousely cutting benefits 45%. Paul Ryan's approach, while politically courageous, comes no where near to solving the problem. With all the debt the US now has, if interest rates rise to historical norms, the service on the debt will be $650 billion a year alone! You snipe at each other over PBS and Big Bird and SS, and Medicare. There will be NOTHING left. We are bankrupt as a country and you are all too ill informed to realize it. When these programs were implemented, people lived to between 67-70 years of age at the high end. Now people are living into their 80's and 90s and taking far more OUT of the system than they put in. The younger generation is shrinking and therefore there are less working people to pay for the current generation of retirees. Right now, there are about 79,000 people in the US over the age of 100. By 2050, there will be 610,000! THere is NO way we can sustain these programs as they are and anyone who tells you that if we just eliminated the Bush tax cuts on the rich will solve everything is a damn fool or a liar. Even if we confiscated all the wealth from the 1% (hell even the 5%) it would raise only about $4-5 trillion dollars, which is no where near what is needed. Will the last person out please shut the lights....

The partial health care system in the U.S. consumes 17% of the GDP. The universal health care systems in Europe consume an average of 10% of GDP.

A truly good businessman who sees his competitors producing more with less expense would emulate or improve upon the "best business practice". High health care costs are a huge competitive disadvantage for American business.

A step in the right direction ought to be taken because with other steps it will get you where you want to go. Some term rejection of the partial solution for no solution as "making the perfect the enemy of the good".

The economy does better under Democratic rule than under Republican rule based on data from the Truman administration through the second quarter of 2008 (American Institute for Economic Research, Research Reports, Vol.LXXV, No. 17, Oct. 6, 2008) in nine of ten categories. This empirical data trumps the simple-minded "supply-side" theory.

For example, GDP annual growth averages 4.3% under Democrats and 2.7% under Republicans. Annual growth in employment of 2.8% vs 1.3%, and average annual growth of per capita disposable income of 2.7% vs 1.9% are better under Democrats.

Average federal expenditures as a percentage of GDP are worse under Republicans 13.3% than under Democrats 12.8%. Debt as a percent of GDP grows slightly faster under Republicans at 38.9% compared with 37.3% under Democrats.

When you listen to the ideologue Paul Ryan, remember that ideologues are frequently wrong but never in doubt.

Ayn Rand was a novelist with pretensions as being an economist and philosopher. Atlas Shrugged and other of Rand's novels are entertaining. I have enjoyed them too. But It is incredibly sophomoric of Paul Ryan to base so much of his tax plan for the United States on works of fiction, while ignoring advice from contemporary Nobel laureates in economics.

If you are an investor, you should know that the S&P 500 averages an annual increase of 7.3% under Democrats and only 2.4 % under Republicans. After average annual inflation of 3.9% under Republicans and 3.8% under Democrats, investors in equities lose under Republicans but gain under Democrats. Many wealthy investors are Democrats and are wealthy because they know this.

I'm kinda wondering where all of the self- styled "religious" types are, and why they're not beating up on this shallow, duplicitous hypocrite, who, by his own admission, has chosen as his guiding light a former Jew who spent her life as an outspoken atheist, and bitter, sworn enemy of ALL religion (whew!)...

Previously, I've been watching slack- jawed as the so-called "Religious Right" have put aside their beliefs, their dogma, and their so- called principles, to unite in their mad hatred of the Islamist, Socialist, Kenyan, Fascist, blah, blah, blah... how is it possible that Evangelicals can fulminate and spew hatred and mistrust of the Catholic Church every freakin' day of their lives, but then turn around and get all kissy- face with that same alleged "Whore of Babylon" to advance a POLITICAL goal? I'm no expert on the Christian Gospels- real life is confusing enough for me, thank you very much- but don't they have to at least pretend to practice what they preach? How is it possible that a Mormon can accept the assistance and endorsements- to say nothing of the money!- of the Southern Baptists and Catholics?

Anybody who really thinks that this small- minded, wretched, dishonest swine actually deserves any sort of position of public trust should try to actually read the hate-soaked, venemous rantings of Ayn Rand (not that I'd wish that on anybody), and ask themselves if that kind of raw, cruel, power- worshipping garbage is how we want our great republic to be run in the future.

I'm not a wealthy man and don't ever expect to be one, but there have been many occasions in my life where I've encountered, or heard about, somebody who's a whole bunch worse off than I am, and if I really want to I can always scrape up a buck or three to help them out. The people who run our country now would think of me as a sucker, a chump, a loser. I don't care; I sleep OK at night, and am reasonably certain that when I die, I will not be going to the very warm place where to guy with horns and a pitchfork conducts his business.

Go Joe,sock it to the rich brat.

How many morons does it take to elect another moron? Here is our plan but I won't vote for it! Does that sound like a plan to you? Does that sound like a plan that will make it to the Presidents desk or should?

Give em a break folks, Unless something drastic happens there will no longer be a Republican Party
after 2014, The combined Minorities will be the Majority and a Republican will have a hard time being
          elected dogcatcher let alone President.

          Hmmmm...

No video or audio recording devices allowed at Ryan's fundraiser.

          Courious...wonder why...?

Maybe he needs to discuss how he and Mitty boy feel about half the nation.

The only thing that scares me more than those bozos clowns getting elected,

is the fact that some people in this country actually support them.

          Not the majority of delegates.

ues we can thank the hard working honest people for that, you know, at least 47%, and the rest that have realized they fall into that catagory. Which is the entire state of Massachusetts by the way.

          Mitt Romney’s great healthcare plan…LIE.

          Who is Jonathan Gruber…???

Jonathan Gruber, economics professor at MIT, was actually the designer of MA’s healthcare plan, not Mitt Romney.

Bigger lie…Actually Senator Kennedy was the muscle behind the MA healthcare plan, not Mitt Romney, and it could not have been achieved without his negotiations and influence.

          But wait, it gets better…

… it was a government bailout. It was a result of Mitt Romney’s failed healthcare plan.

It was funded by your federal dollars., and is still being funded by your federal dollars, via subsidiaries.

The only reason MA has the healthcare plan that it does, is because MA’s healthcare was in dire straights, under Mitt Romney’s leadership.

          Wait for it…

… it was paid for with 385 million dollars of federal money.

          That’s right, your money.

Then they insured absolutely anyone they could find, with Medicare. Why…?

Because the federal dollars would match Medicare. That’s right, your money.

But wait, it gets even better…

Right now, federal Medicaid dollars continue to pay for both children and adults, for up to 300% of the poverty line in MA.

Have you figured it out yet…?

Yes, the entire State of Massachusetts is on FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE…!!!

Just speculating here…I wonder if the entire state of MA knows it falls in that 47% area…?

But this will never work for the rest of the country…

          Here’s why…

He wants to provide insurance for the rest of the country another way.

He wants to cap the Medicaid dollars at whatever the state received last year, add 1%, and then let us on our own to fend for ourselves. Or in his own words “manage your poor the way you think best”.

You must understand people…that’s a cut to Medicaid to the tune of more than 600 billion dollars. This differs greatly from the generous deal that MA got.

He opposes giving money for healthcare at the federal level, and also refuses to give it at the state level.

That, on top of Romney’s reportable care act (Romney care) pushes Medicaid cuts to well above 1 trillion dollars.

          Why is this important…?

It means that the rest of the states will not have the generous benefits that Massachusetts had.

This means that he will be “pulling up the ladder” so no other state can achieve healthcare the way MA has.

Under Romney’s plan, there is no way to achieve universal healthcare.

Indeed, if Medicare is cut, even the current healthcare plan in Massachusetts will not survive.

The only reason Massachusetts healthcare plan has continued to survive, is from a generous waiver, first from the Bush administration, and yes, wait for it…

…then from the Obama administration, for billions and billions of dollars.

          Massachusetts…your own worst enemy…? Yes !

Mitt’s cut to Medicare will put the burden of healthcare solely on the state’s tax-payer dollars.

They can not afford that, and the healthcare plan will wither away.

Furthermore, the Romney care plan, will cut Medicaid by 700 billion dollars.

More facts…By the year 2022 ( only ten years down the road ), Obama care will have 33 million more people under health care coverage.

Romney care will have 18 million fewer Americans with health care coverage.

These are all facts contributed by Jonathan Gruber, the designer of Romney’s MA healthcare plan.
