Another victory for Ohio voters

(10/05/2012) A unanimous panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit affirmed a lower court’s decision striking down Ohio’s recent law limiting early voting. Although the panel divided on its reasoning, all three judges concluded that the law has serious constitutional deficiencies.

Joe's a fighter. Joe has the values of the middle class in his heart. He's overcome personal tragedy and is not bitter about it. He's a good guy and is a lot smarter than people give him credit for.

I still think his Iraq and Afghanistan strategies were among the most insightful I've ever heard.

Paul Ryan, disciple of Ayn Rand, has a distorted vision of the American worker. 30% want America to take care of them. I don't know any people like that. People like to be in charge of their own life from what I've seen. Ryan talks freedom, yet cares little for women's rights. His future gets cloudier by the moment.

The debate will be very interesting and we shall see how it turns out.

Probably the same genius who thought it would be "good optics" for him to go on Hannity and now claim that his 47% insult was "completely wrong".

Oh, wait - according to this, as Mitt himself says, laughing all the way, "That's not the campaign, that was me, right?"

Reasons to fear Willard Romney. Williard believes when he dies, because he is a baptised Morman he will become a God! So no matter what he does or says he will simply have to say he is sorry to God
when he dies to become a God.

He Believs Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers and we were all born as siblings in heaven to them both, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163).

God used to be a man on another planet, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321)"God himself was once
as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!!!

God resides near a star called Kolob, (Pearl of Great Price, p. 34-35; Mormon Doctrine, p. 428)

After you become a good Mormon, you have the potential of becoming a god, (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 345-347, 354.)Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them," (D&C 132:20).

There are many gods, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163).

God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit children.(Mormon Doctrine, p. 516).

Jesus' sacrifice was not able to cleanse us from all our sins, (murder and repeated adultery are exceptions), (Journal of Discourses, vol. 3, 1856, p. 247).

"ChristNot Begotten of Holy Ghost ...Christ was begotten of God. He was not born without the aid of Man, and that Man was God!" (Doctrines of Salvation, by Joseph Smith, 1954, 1:18).

If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation (Mormon Doctrine, p. 670).

"One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God;(Miracle of Forgiveness p. 206).

Jesus' sacrifice was not able to cleanse us from all our sins, (murder and repeated adultery are exceptions), (Journal of Discourses, vol. 3, 1856, p. 247).

There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p. 188

"As these sins are the result of individual acts it is just that forgiveness for them should be conditioned on individual compliance with prescribed requirements 'obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel,'" (Articles of Faith, p.79). Another words Man forgives you.

"Many men say there is one God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are only one God. I say that is a strange God [anyhow]--three in one and one in three. . .It is curious organization… All are crammed into one God according to sectarianism (Christian faith). It would make the biggest God in all the world. He would be a wonderfully big God--he would be a giant or a monster," (Joseph Smith, Teachings, p. 372).

Do want a person who believes he is God to be President.

shaak:

(About Biden): He's overcome personal tragedy and is not bitter about it.

He also outed SEAL Team 6 on the bin Laden raid and 20 of America's very best were dead 4 months later.

Do you wonder if those 20 families are bitter about this idiot forgetting / ignoring strict orders regarding their identity and what they did?

I still think his Iraq and Afghanistan strategies were among the most insightful I've ever heard.

Yeah, he's really brilliant .... the only guy in America that was against the bin Laden raid?

And speaking of bin Laden, what does it say when the worst terrorist in history, a man that had no hesitation in killing thousands of innocent men, women and children around the world .... thinks Biden is such a knucklehead that he is not worth even killing - that he is such an idiot, he would do more damage by being alive.

Sheesh

Paul Ryan, disciple of Ayn Rand, has a distorted vision of the American worker. 30% want America to take care of them. I don't know any people like that. People like to be in charge of their own life from what I've seen.

Really? Yet libs like you think people need the government to tell them they can't buy happy meals with toys ... they are too stupid to not be governed as to how big a soft drink they can buy ...

Ryan talks freedom, yet cares little for women's rights.

And you were speaking of people not wanting America / government to take care of them .... yet 30 year old law students on a free ride have to have others pay for their birth control - they aren't responsible enough to come up with $9 a month for their own birth control or use a stupid condom?

You guys are so clueless.

Grimey, well said. Now if you could just convince the naybobs that new jobs is a good thing not something to create a conspiracy theory about, life would be sweeter for all. For 41 straight months, more Americans have been going back to work instead of headed to the unemployment lines.

I just caught Jack Welsh on Hardball. I find it pathetic and disheartening to hear someone like him accusing the White House and Chicago of manipulation and purposely putting them out after the debate. The numbers would have been released this week regardless. These numbers have been put together by the BLS practically forever, to suddenly question them because President Obama is in the White House shows a refusal to accept facts along with the one that Obama won in 2008 and is now the President. It's pretty sad to think that politics and good news makes an old man, a respected man, sound like his mind is going.

Seeking Sanity, amen to that. I'm not willing to reward obstructing government in the name of politics either!

I was dumbfounded watching Jack Welch double down on his appalling tweet. Chris gave him every opportunity to walk it back.....but no and the main reason he gave, said the Pres was telling lies about Romney at the debate. These old white rich republican titans really think they can just snap their fingers and everyone will hop to. He was really incensed and made it sound so personal.

As Chris said wonder why they are not happy with this good news? Wink Wink, it comes along with their not believing when the polls are not in their favor. And the Dow is at its highest since 2007, clearly nothing will please these entitled jackasses. Its hard for them to accept the fact that a Democrat in the WH made it happen, and OMG, he's a black guy. Give the man four more years and a Congress not working against us and watch the country grow.

there are more people working this month than last month and that's a good thing no matter which side of the aisle you are on.

Nice sentiment Frank, but sorry, there is a bigger issue - the honesty / integrity of our government and simply put America cannot afford this type of naivety.

The numbers are worse for September than August, which was worse than July .... yet the unemployment rate went down?

None of these months even covered the number of new workers entering the work force .... yet the unemployment rate went down ... went down an amount that would require 4-5% growth of GDP when we have 1.3%?

The unemployment rate drop is not based on the 114,000 number, it is now conveniently based on a completely contradictory poll - some BSLS household poll, a deceit, a manipulation to fit the president's re-election narrative.

The 23 million Americans suffering under the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression do not need false appearances, they deserve the truth.

Hey, guys, great video this week! Good to see that Andy's all over those "furry freeloaders" Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar. As for the fundraisers, oh gosh, decisions, decisions.... Bon Jovi, Earth Wind & Fire, Jennifer Hudson, Katy Perry, and Stevie Wonder? Or Dick Cheney and Ben Romney in Arlington? Please tell me there are still tickets available for that one!

As for the Biden/Ryan debate, well, I don't think you guys will be using the word "lackluster" at all next week.

Now, it's Friday afternoon, Tomas Grande is buying the first round of margaritas, and first up on the DDI jukebox today is this great classic going out to my good buddy Ron, Indiana, (he knows why), to all my Democrat friends who will be out canvassing this weekend and working to get out the vote, to my dear friend Independent Redneck and his beloved Nationals, to Grimey and his equally beloved Orioles, and to all the rest of you who (sigh) still have a team in the playoffs too:

Man it’s tough keeping up with you’ll. First you’ll don’t have TWA for about a month so’s I give the Bull Riding Bouncer the month off from Backhoe Duty to go take care of a sick Granny and then you bring it back and stir up enough stuff where the old Caretaker has to work overtime and nights and weekends cleaning up Yahoo poop that gets left just anywhere. We finally got back to full staff this week although from the grin on the Bouncer’s face I’m finding that Granny story a little bit suspect.
      Anyway let’s get to it.
First of all we must raise a glass or three to our old childhood friend Big Bird. Seems that ‘Ol Willard has been trying to get some traction with We the People for more years than we care to talk about (seems like he’s been running for something or other forever) and his followers finally hit on a last ditch effort so they bumped off Big Bird.
Only problem is that sacrificing the Big Guy only resulted in about a day and a half Bounce to the good. So now ‘Ol Willard and his Crack Team of Malcontents are in a feverish Debate. Do they Kidnap the rest of Sesame Street and hold them for Ransom till the rest of America comes around to their way of thinking or do they do away with them one at a time and hope that they can find enough of them to last till after Nov 7th?
So over at the Dew Drop Inn and down at the Comeback Inn we once again find ourselves in the position of sending groups of Revenuers off into the nether regions that we have around here to protect a bunch of Toons that aren’t here. I don’t want to let out any secrets but one of them is bright green and seems to be concerned with somebody he calls Miss Piggy. We got some blue ones and some that keep hollering about Cookies and wearing the Comeback Inn Bakers out. But don’t you worry over at the Dew Drop Inn we have gotten used to guests that aren’t there and keeping the Untouchables and the Unfathomables off their backs.
Grimy thanks for the shout out on my Natinals. They done good this year so far. Congratulations on your O’s.Looks like the postseason has returned to Baltimore for the first time in a long while.

They sure do. Liars also make mistakes, and eventually get caught in their web of lies. When I was but a wee tyke, my grandmother wouldn't take my lies lying down. She'd grab a bar of soap and make me wash my mouth out with that caustic mixture of lye. I'll gladly offer up some lye for Romney and Lyin' Ryan's lies, it would be amusing to watch all those foaming bubbles form as they uttered their constant stream of lies.

The damage done in the State Of Wisconsin by "Richie Rich" Ryan, and is cohort in crime "Whacky Walker" has been horrific. "Fighting Joe" has alot of material to politically destroy "Richie Rich" Ryan, and the record of "Richie Rich" Ryan is very clear. On Soocial Issues "Richie Rich" Ryan has the mentality of a Confederate States of America Politician around 1860. I can see now how the VP debates will go:

Ryan will say something like, “In this generation, a defining responsibility of government is to steer our nation clear of a debt crisis while there is still time.”

Biden will say something like, “Yeah, well you're nothing but a poopy-head!”

The media will then say something like, “Biden simply destroyed Ryan with his superior intelligence and logic!”

Biden: Wow! I flew in and it took me a lot longer.

Biden should unleash attacks. Obama spent Wed. night trying to be reserved, presidential, overly genial. Biden should unleash attacks on Romney's tendency to say different things to different audiences (lying to some) and the GOP's historical distaste for medicare and its desire to kill the program (as best exemplified by Ryan).

Ok, It has taken me a while to digest the spectacle that was the debate the other night. My first thought was OMG what the heck is going on! But once I thought about it, here is my impression:

      1. The Myth campaign really shook the Etch-A-Sketch hard before the debate.
      2. Myth Romney changed his position on many points that he has been expounding over the past year.
      3. Myth Romney out and out lied about many points of his Talking Points for the night. (as pointed out by Fact Check.org)
      4. Either President Obama was so taken aback by Myth's blatant lies that he didn't want to appear so rude to point out these blatant untruths, or he was politically astute enough to allow Myth to put the lies on the record so that his campaign could use Myth's own words against him.
      5. I don't buy the elevation argument of Mr. Gore, but the President did appear tired.
      6. The GOPers are really desperate to keep any resemblance of sanity that their party may still hold.
      7. The GOPers are really desperate to win at any cost, even to be caught telling out and out lies, hoping the general electorate is truly uninformed.
      8. If the voting public is truly informed, they will realize that a vote for the GOP is a vote to move America back to the 19th century.
      9. I don't think the Obama/Biden campaign will be caught off guard in any more debates. They will be prepared. This was the last hurrah of the GOPer ticket.
      10. The remaining debates will show the Obama/Biden lead in the polls widen up to their ultimate victory on November 6, 2012!

      All the Best!

I, as a college educated American citizen feel insulted by the arrogance of the GOP party in their disregard of the electoral system to conduct a campaign such as this!

Biden is a facts wonk. Ryan is a liar. There will be a lively debate and Ryan's innate character will lose on the facts. The only thing he may win is the superficial debate score of making the most accusations, just as Mitt did. However, a real debate is judged on the basis of facts and logic instead of stridency, which is considered in political debates. Political debates are judged on the basis of "sound and fury, signifying nothing" many times, to quote Bill Shakespeare.
