Subscribe to RSSCHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Returning to the home city of the Democratic National Convention, Vice President Joe Biden said that the two men on the GOP ticket have their wires crossed on whether or not the Obama administration has raised taxes.
"Even Romney had what we Catholics call an epiphany," Biden said of the GOP nominee's recent message slip on taxes. "Romney came out and ... said, 'they have not raised taxes on the middle class.' But apparently Paul Ryan has not gotten the memo!"
As the presidential candidates prepare for Wednesday's debate, Vice President Joe Biden spoke about the "buried" middle class, prompting the Romney campaign to suggest the President's policies are to blame. NBC's Peter Alexander reports.
Romney said last week at a campaign stop in Ohio that Obama intends to raise taxes, something the president "did not do in his first four years."
While Obama has not raised tax rates, he has signed legislation -- particularly his health care law -- that Republicans argue would yield major penalties for many middle class families.
Biden argued that the GOP, in contrast, would raise taxes on a middle class that has "been buried over the last four years."
That comment earned a scathing response from Republicans, who called it "a stunning admission" about the White House's economic policies.
"Vice President Biden made a stunning admission today and we couldn’t agree more: the middle class has been ‘buried’ under the last four years of this President’s policies," the Romney campaign wrote in a press release.
Biden, who acknowledged that riders on Air Force Two had "queasy stomachs" after a bumpy ride to North Carolina, kept the crowd of about 1000 waiting for an hour due to the inclement weather upon arrival.
His plane aborted one landing attempt In Charlotte because of storms in the area and was forced to circle the airport for about a half hour before landing without further incident.

He may not be raised taxes, but ObamaCare has done it's job against the people. We are retired. Our Medicare supplement has gone up twice this year. The company my husband worked for has done away with our insurance. They said they were following suit from other companies. This is not a small company, so large companies are doing away with their insurance for their employees, not just small companies. Any one that votes for Obama this time is asking to get their insurance done away with. He is against Christians and for Muslems. I don't see how anyone that is a Christian or profess to be one can vote for him.

My mom's suppliment has gone up too. $60 a month since the beginning of the year. And, she can't re-do her insurance until next year.....Obamacare is wonderful...NOT.

And, what is Obama's plan? I've listened to his speeches, most of the time he starts out....."I've inherited the worse economy since the great depression." Then he goes into...."I want..." to do this or that....here is an example:
"I want to balance our budget, I want to reduce our deficit, deal with our debt, but I want to do it in a balanced, responsible way."
Where are Obama's details? Ever heard the saying, "Want in one hand......and S#!T in the other and see which one fills up faster?"

Springs- For profit Insurance is just that, for profit. Our premiums have been steadily going up for the last 10years, was that Bush's fault?
Many Co's are either dropping Insurance coverage or getting the cheapest they can why, for more profit!

I do believe that they need to start teaching civics class in school again. Congress is in charge of the fiscal matters of this country, and always has been. This also includes taxation. So if taxes are raised on anyone in this country, it will be congress that does it, not the president.
But the president sets the agenda and legislation passed by congress can be vetoed by the president. Unless there is a 2/3 majority vote of congress, it won't become law.
So what would Joe say otherwise? Oh, the middle class has THRIVED over the last 4 years - the BANKERS apologized for screwing around with everyone's money and they just flat fixed the mortgage problem. Yup, paid for it out of their own pockets - of course, they would do that instead of filling up their coffers with federal tax dollars, giving themselves a great big bonus, and letting people get foreclosed on right and left for the last four years! And, of course, the middle class THRIVED over the last 4 years, because the day after President Obama's inauguration the Republicans in Congress committed themselve to doing anything and everything to help their country - of course they did that rather than block, obstruct, villify, spew venom over everything that President Obama tried to bring the country back to life and get the economy moving again! And of course, the middle class has THRIVED because corporations also decided that the humanitarian thing to do was to quit squeezing every last drop, ounce, second, iota of work out of their employees and hire more employees to spread the money around and infuse the economy with spending - of course they did that rather than sit on trillions of dollars, stretching their workers as far as they could, and stalling the economy in the secret hope that they would obfuscate President Obama's efforts and get him unelected so that the Republican's would once again de-regulate everything again - just like it was when everything was so rosey back in 2008!

There have been jobs - there could have been more. There have been tax cuts for the Middle Class IN SPITE OF the Republican who supposedly love tax cuts - oh, yeah! That's only when it's for the wealthy! There have been some jobs saved and created with the stimulus and the economy has turned around generally - IN SPITE OF the Republicans blocking every jobs bill and the Job Creators sitting on every dollar they've stowed away!

And if you want to see what redistribution of wealth pays for........watch the "obamaphone lady" video. Im middle class, have a job, and no one(including Obama) offers to pay my cell phone bill. The plan was to build the base by having the working poor identify with welfare recipients rather than the middle class. He wants them to think they need, want and are entitled to government help. He has achieved his goal and it is frightening. He has successfully brainwashed people into relying on government rather than themselves. More and more Americans are looking for handouts selling their freedom and independence. Is it any wonder why the economy is still so poor? He wants to keep it from recovering so he and his party can add lore and more people to dependency.
When Bush tax cuts expire.....median income households($40K-$60K) will see their tax obligation go up $1000 to $2000............and thats just Federal tax......not HCR hit coming later down the road..
