Ryan readies for 3-day debate camp

ON THE CAMPAIGN CHARTER HEADING TO OHIO -- The same day as the first presidential debate of the 2012 election, Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will begin a three-day debate camp.

Campaign spokesman Brendan Buck told reporters aboard the Ryan press charter Saturday afternoon Rep. Ryan will head to the battleground state of Virginia on Wednesday for an extended debate prep session, commonly referred to as ‘debate camp.’

No reason for selecting Virginia was given, however, advisers in the past have said the camp would likely be in a battleground state, likely in the Eastern time zone, and “somewhere where there aren’t distractions.”

Mitt Romney, who will be debating President Barack Obama in Denver on Wednesday, held his own debate camp in Vermont in early September.

Portman joins Romney for debate prep in Vermont

Ryan’s first formal debate prep day was Sept. 9 in Oregon with his most recent formal debate practice session held this past Sunday in a hotel in Janesville, Wis. Ted Olson, the former solicitor general under President George W. Bush, has been playing the part of Vice President Joe Biden during practice sessions and is expected to be in the Old Dominion state next week as well.

Paul Ryan holes up for debate

Ryan and Biden will debate just once during this election in Danville, Ky., on Oct. 11 – exactly two months after Ryan was tapped as Romney’s running mate, also in Virginia where debate camp will occur.

The campaign told the traveling press a few weeks ago that the seven-term Wisconsin congressman has been going through large white binders -- “organized by issue areas” -- of policy information, research, and news of the day since the Republican National Convention ended at the end of August.

While there has not been much discussion regarding the VP debate in terms of debate expectations -- as most eyes are on the first presidential debate in four days -- two Ryan advisers appeared to downplay expectations for the House Budget Chairman when they spoke to the traveling press in Reno, Nev., in early September.

“Vice President Joe Biden served over 30 years in the United States Senate, he has run for president twice and has severed as vice president for the past four years. He is one of the most experienced debaters in American political life and we definitely don’t take the challenge lightly,” an adviser said.

Ryan focuses heavily on raising money Sunday and Monday -- holding fundraisers throughout Connecticut and New York City – before heading to the key state of Iowa for four campaign events. He will then turn his focus to debate prep leading up to the final weekend before the debate in Kentucky.

The tweeter sites have provided awesome opportunities to anyone who loves debate.

We, tweeters, have debated anything or almost everything, from aerospace, food, politics, and crimes, to entertainment, economy, health care . . . all across the news online, whichever it is online.

May God bless all debate practices; do not leave their consciences at home.

Not sure who is really running this county any more all I can see is President Obama joining the Late Night show ,The View on TV and the Hollywood crowd. My son graduated from University last year and still looking for a full time job. His younger brother will be finishing his high school next year and undecided what to do next seeing his elder brother struggle with unemployment. Right now it is the ordinary people who are suffering I hope who ever got elected to be the next President can focus on "Job Creation" and give us some hope in this once great country.

Well maroubra don't count on Obama for any help with your sons situations!!! Got four young adults that are either underemployed and working plus going to school to better that, or without a job and still searching. Yet if they were ex cons there are assistance programs that send them to school, help them get drivers licenses, places to live, foodstamps, medical etc.. Guess crime does pay and honest, hardworkers get screwed in the current Obamanation!!!!

The problem with obama is that there is no plan, nothing and the econmy is still going backward, unemployment is going up and gas has more then doubled.ect.ect.

We need a proven leader and job creator like Gov. Romney to change the cousre of the country for the better not for the worse which is what that obama is doing.

I think it is real funny that they are already making excuses for obama not doing good in his debate with Romney... This is just so Funny.....

Team Obama is laying it on heavy that the president may be the less-prepared candidate because of the demands of his office.

“The President will have a little bit of time to review and practice before the debates, but he has had to balance the management of world events, governing, (They forgot to add, The View, Fund Raisers, Partying with j-z and Golf) time out campaigning and will have less time than we anticipated to sharpen and cut down his tendency to give long, substantive answers,” Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki told ABC News.

Obama campaign officials are even putting a spin on the debates as a potential "reset” moment for the race, claiming they won’t be surprised if Romney gets a bounce “just by being on the same stage as the incumbent.”

One official, lowering the expectations bar even further for Obama, went so far as to note to ABC News that five out of the last six presidential challengers were judged to have won the first debate.

“The idea a president who is known for his world class oratory, is a world-class debater who laid waste to Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and John McCain, will be unprepared debates is absurd,” she said in a statement to ABC News. “The only handicap he has are his policies that have failed Americans that past four years.”

Yeah, the demands of not being at briefings, refusing to answer hard questions, and having everyone else in your cabinet do all the hard work and make all the decisions. Obama does very little since he is incompetent and truly disengaged. But he can pander to silly women on the View and drink beer.

This gonna be a fun set of debates. Arrogance and fake smiling dishonesty against clear-eyed facts and logic. What Joe is going to find is chronic lying and depending upon snotty asides won't work when honest trains of thought, facts and reason are required. leave it to him to instead slander and try to change the subject with weird and dishonest accusations. i know that is obama's strategy. the cult of personality mixed with the say anything lies is the only thing this administration has to go on.

If you represent the obama supporters you definitely illustrate my point as to people being shmoozed by the cult of personality rather than truth and reasoned solutions that actually work. You choose failure over success and lies over truth. You are the poster boy for the brave new third world obama wants to usher in with his arrogant failure.

After reading 'Most' of obamaCare "2000+ Pages' and Romney/Ryans plans I taked to AARP and they lady I spoke to got snotty at me and told me That Obama's Plan was GREAT for me. I told her I disagreed and she hung up on me.

I called back and asked to speak to her again and when she got on the line I told her I was canxing my membership, and that I was sending a letter to her supervisor and telling them why, I also told them my wife will being getting a hold of them to canx her's also, and that I would be talking to all of my friends.

She tried to tell me I 'Mis-Understood' What she was saying (damn if I haven't heard that before) so I asked her how I could 'Mis-Understand' her hanging up on me... Then she told me she had been "Accidentaly' cut-off. I said, "They have Taught you well" then said Have a Great Day... Good bye

              Quick History lesson:

During the 1910s, the movement picked up momentum again. In 1914, Clara Ueland organized a parade through Minneapolis of over 2000 suffrage supporters. Ueland would become MWSA president in 1915. This event gave the movement renewed attention. During this period, the MWSA had to contend with a rival organization, a Minnesota branch of the National Women's Party (NWP). The NWP was more radical than the MWSA. It was much more likely to take direct action, such as hunger strikes, than the MWSA. Even though they disagreed on tactics, the two organizations often worked together.

By 1919, 30,000 women across the state officially belonged to local suffrage associations. They joined the MWSA, the NWP, and other organizations. Their numbers and continued activities convinced lawmakers to act. In 1919, the Minnesota legislature recognized women's right to vote in presidential elections. The same year, the legislature ratified the Nineteenth Amendment. It did not take effect until 1920, however, when the required two-thirds of the states approved it. With their right to vote secured, the MWSA became the Minnesota League of Women of Voters. On the lawn of the Minnesota State Capitol is a memorial to the MWSA.

Ive never HEARD of a VP candidate devoting this much time to one single debate!! It's like he thinks he's the main attraction.

But, he's just Lyin Ryan, who wants to handover all the SS and Medicare money to the same people who crashed the economy!! So, while he complains that it's so necessary because of the spending and debt, let the record show that he VOTED FOR all of the SPENDING AND DEBT under Bush!

The choice of Lyin Ryan as VP candidate doomed the GOP campaign. His stubborn stance regarding SS and Medicare, as well as his lies and hypocrisy, may well result in the political destruction of the GOP as we know it! That would be extremely good for the country since most of the disasters we now face are their creation! They are in fact a clear and present danger to the United States as we know it!

This country has never before been so divided ideologically since the civil war. I was stockpiling ammo and food in case the threat was from afar. Boy did I underestimate the ability to divide and conquer by it`s own govt from within. We need to admit we`ve been made pawns in their game.

Awe, that's the trouble with kids these days.... they've never been in a decent fight & when they get bruised they're outa there ! Too bad you missed McCarthy & Commanizm whew! your head would have exploded ! How many Governors have called out "the guard" & had them open fire on union strikers ? This stuff is girly games, wussie boo... acting ! We haven't even approached the "tear gas" point yet . Offhand, I'd observe that your faithlessness in "We THE People" is about as deep as your patriotism & your "stockpiling", while commendable, is more likely to be used for a natural disaster that any defense of your freedom . If the ideology here is divided it is for lack of education & or equality, ideology is a direct result of exposure to experience & understanding which IS education . When the Left has it's counterpart to Rush, & Beck then start worrying... just make sure that it's not another Colbert that's pulling your leg, you don't wanna be like Mitt & make the same mistake twice .

                  ....BTW...

In 1954, U.S. Senator Lester C. Hunt (D-WY) killed himself in his senate office after he was threatened by Republicans seeking office, using information provided by challenger Gaynor's staff, to publicly expose his son's homosexuality.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- More than one in seven Americans are on food stamps, but the federal government wants even more people to sign up for the safety net program.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has been running radio ads for the past four months encouraging those eligible to enroll. The campaign is targeted at the elderly, working poor, the unemployed and Hispanics.

                    Obama's economy

Here's a look at where the economy stood when the president took office in 2009, and what's changed since.

The department is spending between $2.5 million and $3 million on paid spots, and free public service announcements are also airing. The campaign can be heard in California, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, and the New York metro area.

Conservatives are right about the polls being wrong. Romney and his supporters paid almost a million dollars to have polling groups over report Obama lead. Romney wants to convince Dems. that Obama has won and they don't need to vote. This will suppress Dem. voters and the rep. turnout will elect Romney. Pretty slick move right?

Isn't it funny, when you talk about Bush and the economy the same stinking conservative (they all smell of greed) don't want to talk about it. But when it was Obama that actually did get Osama, then they want to give Bush the credit. HEY stupid, Bush didn't have anything to do with getting Osama, he has been reestablishing his position in Texas as the town drunk.

I wish the case was closed and your comments were not ignorant.

GM STILL OWES THE TAXPAYERS $42 BILLION. YOU ARE PROBABLY ONE OF THE 47% WHO THEY DO NOT OWE SINCE YOU DO NOT PAY TAXES AND ARE JUST A LEACH!

GM owes $27 billion on the nearly $50 billion it received from the auto bailout and Ally Bank, the company’s lending arm, owes $14.7 billion of the $17.2 billion taxpayer-funded bailout it received.

GM’s stock has plummeted in recent months after stagnant development in overseas markets. It hit a new low on Wednesday, falling to $18.80, a 52 percent drop from its January 2011 high of $38.90.

The rapid decline of the stock price has kept taxpayers on the hook for billions in unpaid bailout dollars. The stock would need to make a quick—and meteoric—turnaround for taxpayers to break even.

“In order to recoup its total investment in GM, Treasury will need to recover an additional $27 billion in proceeds. This translates to an average of $53.98 per share on its remaining common shares in New GM,” the IG report concluded.

They cause pain in working people lives. Every recession since I have been old enough to work was brought on by you sick S. O. B. with your lies and deception to get elected. It takes a democrat like Obama to fix the mess that Bush made. A ignorant azzholes like yourself want to put Romney in office to return us to 2008 and a giant crash. That touches a nerve.

This election was over before it started. If Romney really wants to be the Prez, he should throw in the towel now and go back to work to make jobs in the US. That way he may have a chance in 2016.
