BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Courting the over-65 set in retiree-rich southern Florida Friday, Vice President Joe Biden accused the GOP presidential ticket of planning to poach the Medicare and Social Security tax benefits of the middle class to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.
"If Governor Romney’s plan goes into effect, it could mean that everyone, everyone of you, would be paying more taxes on your Social Security," Biden told hundreds of retirees at the Century Village community in Boca Raton. "The average senior would have to pay $460 a year more in taxes for their Social Security."
The Obama campaign traces that math to the claim that Romney's tax policy would necessarily require the elimination of some middle-class tax deductions. Using data from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, they determine that Romney would have to cut tax benefits for those earning under $200,000 by 58 percent. Spreading those cuts evenly across all benefits would work out to an average of $460 per year per senior.
But Team Romney counters that those numbers are based on a third party's assessment that's riddled with uncertainties and assumptions rather than Romney's actual plan, which the campaign promises on its website "will not raise [Social Security] taxes and will not affect today's seniors or those nearing retirement."
Republicans also point out that Biden himself voted for a 1993 measure that expanded the taxable portion of Social Security benefits for many low-income seniors.
In Florida Friday, Biden said Romney's tax plan was not "moral" because of what he claims would be unfair hikes on the middle class.
"How can you justify a middle class that has been clobbered by the policies that brought on this great recession, adding taxes to them and drastically cutting taxes for the very wealthy," he told a group made up mostly of seniors in Tamarac. "It's not right, I don't even think it's moral, and beyond that it will not help the economy, it will hurt the economy."
In slamming the GOP ticket, Biden also joked that he can't determine if Romney would actually roll back the Obama-backed health care plan after Romney's on-again off-again embrace of some of its core tenets.
"He said 'well, we’re going to maybe ... do that, but I’d like to keep a lot of the good stuff,' and then his campaign says, 'no no no, he didn’t mean that,' " Biden said.
The vice president, who also won laughs from the elderly crowds for jokes about his age and a Lawrence Welk shout-out that would have sailed over the heads of a younger audience, was warmly received at his campaign events. But he did face persistent questioning on the Obama administration's health care plan when he stopped at Nestor's, a Jewish deli in Boca Raton.
Steve Grossman, a 39-year-old who said he worked in the financial services industry, approached Biden as he sat down to order a tuna salad platter and began asking about health insurance costs. The vice president initially seemed reluctant to answer, cutting Grossman off to order his food and to chat with another patron's husband on the phone, but he ended up offering a description of state-based health care exchanges more fitting for a think tank roundtable than a deli specializing in "the mother of all Pastrami sandwiches."
"You can get more benefits for less money," he told Grossman in between slurps of chicken soup. "You get to choose among those insurance companies that are competing as part of the exchanges."

Romney-Ryan to take back America from the Progressives and the RADICALS.
VP Biden is going to blow the little worm Ryan away with the debate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And yet Joe Biden is much better respected than either Romney or Ryan. Go figure!
Obama/Biden 2012
Romney and Ryan don't need a debate to look like a Fool, they are Fools !!!!!!!
Yep, Mr. Obama has done so well with his "transparent" International policies that the "movie" will continue to be the prime source for this administration regarding the ME protests.
Can't wait to hear the spin from Mr. Obama and his surrogates on Syria moving their chemical weapons. Wait a minute.....Mr. Obama drew "a red line" saying they better not move their chemical weapons or ELSE. Maybe he can blame his response on Mr. Bush.
Guess we all know where the "fools" are located.
I know the way the world is going I will never see social security in 20 years. People like Romney are like cockroaches and multiply to spread the disease of ultra wealthy who pay no taxes. Then they want to tax single moms and grandma more to keep their offshore bank accounts full.
I though Romney's visit to FL seniors they showed on TV was awesome. It looked like my Grandma ready to open a can of whip @ss on him. The goofball pair Romney/Ryan have no prayer. Fold up you snake oil tent boys.........
Where is all the concern over the Libia cover up??

Both Romney & Ryan are a little out there. There is something so strange about both of them. Very very very strange.
And now Ann has just confirmed what many of us have thought privately. He's weak minded.
And Ryan is a calculating jerk.
Nixon/Agnew. Bush/Cheney.
Romney/Ryan, hands down, among the worst tickets we've ever had.
Pat,
What we're witnessing is the arrogant, entitlement phenomenon!
Those two are so out of touch, it's a wonder their are on the touch the floor!
Here I thought they would never be able to top the McCain/Palin debacle...
It's MediScare by the GOP
There is always enough money to bail out banks, never enough to help the poor.
There has always been corporate socialism - government subsidies and bailouts to corporations, but never any money to help the poor.
Those who don't need money from government - corporations - actually got tons of money from government. The Government has to help the poor but decide to cut services, throwing grandma under the bus.
Bull, we are going to fight to see you receive social security. The best way to do that is to get out and VOTE!
4 more 4 44
Bush was the first to start the process of destroying medicare when he signed Medicare prescription drug benefits law in 2003, giving corporations billions of dollars of subsidies tht corporations don't need, rasing costs of drugs, weakening this government program (Medicare).
Since the government - the largest drug buyer in the world - can't negotiate prescription drug prices, this law added billions of dollars to deficits each year, also has made MediCare not-so-competitive, raising drug costs.
And Obummercare is just the ticket to put granny from under the bus and into the grave. Watch when the IRS start banging on doors looking for their $750 fines imposed on poor people with no insurance. I'm gonna sit back and laugh.
onermailliw..........Your ignorance is showing. Poor people are not involved in Obamacare, they get Medicaide and no Obama did not start Medicaide, it was around for decades before. The only fines will be on people who can afford Medical Insurance but prefer to heap their bills on the rest of us by not getting coverage and ending up in hospitals where the rest of us end up paying their tab because they were too greedy to buy insurance that they could afford. No poor people will be fined for failure to buy medical coverage, they already have coverage for free. Not sure we can afford to do that either, but it has nothing to do with Obama, so get your facts straight before you make uninformed comments.
the insurance companies already do that.
they deny treatment to raise their bottom line.
LYING Ryan’s top-down budget plan is a sham!
Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney both support trillions in budget-busting tax cuts for millionaires that will result in tax hikes on the middle class and deep cuts in education and other investments we need to grow. Ryan’s extreme budget plan, which Mitt Romney has embraced, would make deep spending cuts now to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy, which would weaken the recovery and cost the eco nomy jobs. based on Mitt Romney’s own projections on the impact of deep spending cuts on the economy, Paul Ryan’s budget plan could cost the U.S. more than 1 Million jobs.
Paul Ryan’s plan would raise taxes on the middle class and cut taxes for the wealthy
Ryan’s extreme budget plan would benefit the wealthy while raising taxes on middle-class families, slowing our economic recovery and hurting seniors and the middle class.
Deep tax giveaways for the wealthy:
Paul Ryan’s extreme budget includes a tax “reform” plan that would make the
Bush tax cuts for the wealthy permanent, and give millionaires an additional
tax cut worth over $250,000 a year. Paying for these tax cuts for the most
fortunate families would require higher taxes on the middle class, gutting
investments in our future, and ending Medicare as we know it.
Raise taxes on the middle class:
Just like Mitt Romney’s tax plan, middle-class families could pay thousands of
dollars more a year in taxes to help fund tax cuts for millionaires. Ryan would
cut or eliminate middle-class tax deductions like mortgage interest, charitable
contributions, and health premiums.
Paul Ryan’s plan would gut middle-class investments
To pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest, Paul Ryan would gut investments critical to middle-class security.
This includes cutting Pell Grant scholarships for nearly 10 million students, cutting clean energy investments by 19%, and slowing scientific and medical research by eliminating tens of thousands of grants.
Paul Ryan’s plan would end Medicare as we know it
Paul Ryan’s extreme budget would end Medicare as we know it, turning it into a voucher program which would increase seniors’ health costs by $6,350 a year. Ryan has also proposed a plan that would have privatized Social Security, subjecting seniors’ retirement security to the whims of the stock market.
Paul Ryan is severely conservative
Like Mitt Romney, Ryan’s severely conservative positions are out of touch with most Americans’ values. He would take us backward on women’s health and equal rights.
Paul Ryan would take us backward on women’s health:
Ryan cosponsored a bill that could ban in-vitro fertilization, as well as many
common forms of birth control, including the pill. It could also ban all abortions, even in cases of rape or incest. He supported letting states prosecute women who have abortions and doctors who perform them.
Paul Ryan would take us backward on equal rights:
Ryan voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which helps women fight
for equal pay for equal work. He voted against repealing the discriminatory
policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and supports writing discrimination into the
Constitution by amending it to ban gay marriage.
I'm still waiting for one of these nitwits to tell us how many ER's treat chronic illness's like; cancer, MS, diabetes, etc...?
Speaking of insurance companies;
Can you tell us what these @!$%#s do to deserve this kind of compensation?
Other than playing the ultimate judge and jury to pad their pockets...
It's INCREDIBLE that you will be so blind that you think that the Republicans are NOT RADICALS.
What do you call ADKINS, BACHMAN and PERRY? They all are part of the GOP machine, and Mitt Romney is telling everybody yes" and coming short with the 47% Americans. PRESIDENT Obama is the only President in HISTORY that is doing something about the health of the natioin, other than just profitiing from it.!!!
IT WAS MITT ROMNEY, NOT OBAMA THE PERSON WHO TRASEHD THE 47% 'victims' You obviously BELONG TO THAT GROUP, AND YET, YOU KEEP ON ADORING HIM.
GET A grip!!!!
The greatest threat to Romney/Ryan is the TRUTH and VOTER TURNOUT.
I wonder why Ryan is simultaneously trying to keep his seat?
The only thing Obama has to repeat - over and over again.
What are you hiding in our tax Returns Romney? What are you hiding?

onermailliw...It's been a couple of days, so I'm sure you have forgotten. Romneycare is proof that Miss Mittsy has "empathy" for the American people...Spoken by your stooge.
Have you still not noticed that you were stabbed in the back, or are you just having trouble coordinating your lies with Mittsy's?
You are either completely clueless or you support a back-stabbing liar. Which one is it?
Republicans say they are patriotic. NOT!
Check this out.
1. They blocked the Veterans jobs bill that the Democrats submitted. The Veterans Job Corps Act would have allocated $1 billion to help veterans find jobs. Currently the rate of unemployment for veterans is over 11%, 30% higher than for the general public. The rate of suicides among veterans is spiraling, and one reason is the dismal jobs prospect outside of the military.
The GOP say the reason they blocked the bill was that it would violate a budget restriction established during last year's budget battle. However, they do not consider that the bill would pay for itself in several years when people are able to find work, get off unemployment benefits and welfare, and generate income from which taxes would be collected.
2. The Cost of Living Allowance increase for the Dept. Veterans Affairs Benefits, which usually passes each year without opposition, was this year held up because of AN ANONYMOUS Senate REPUBLICAN put a hold on the Allowance. The hold wasn't released until just before Congress left for recess, thus ensuring that it cannot be acted upon until after the election.
Has Joe explained how he got to be worth millions on a public servant's salary. It's not like he married into money.
Biden's a liar same as Obama. I suspect that's why he was picked.
Chad...
Veterans COLA is tied to SS COLA. These raises have been blocked 2 of the 3 years Obama has been POTUS. Republicans in congress have nothing to do with it.
Obama's first 2 years were accompanied by a democrat house and senate. COLA was only allowed after Republicans took control of the house.
Obama and democrats are no friend of Vets or Social Security
Another sign of their lack of patriotism is that law they passed that gives a big tax cut to corporations that export American jobs.
More proof that the republicons are un American is the fact that when the Democrats tried to repeal that anti American law the republicons filibustered them, not once but twice! First in 2010 and again just last July.
"When Fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a bible." Sinclair Lewis
With every passing day the possibility of a manipulated vote is growing. The whole world is starting to watch. Do not allow this to happen America, you will lose standing in the minds of democracy loving people throughout the world. Do not do this to yourselves.
The GOP's agenda is immoral. The party's political platform is based on a "top-down" economic policy, which have proved to be a failure. For the past 32 years, the right wing has had the opportunity to prove that its financial ideology is beneficial to all classes of Americans.
What has happened to America?
The GOP's Ayn Rand based greed has catapulted the rich into the financial heavens and has dumped the middle class and poor into powerless economic swamps.
By issuing inadequate Medicare vouchers, the GOP will destroy Medicare.
By tossing the Social Security trust fund onto Wall Street's casino tables, Social Security will evaporate for our seniors.
The choice is clear.
Romney/Ryan, for an elitists and failed America.
Obama/Biden, for a fair and prosperous America.
As I've said before....There's something mentally wrong with Willard!
On another issue...The voter registration fraud occuring in Florida is criminal and surely True The Vote is involved as are the Koch Billionaires who fund them....seems like a conspiracy to commit!
Charge them all!
25Walker, the voucher plan for Medicare is the same payout you would get without implementing that option. How does that destroy Medicare??? And if you are 54 and under you can opt to stay in the same system OR enter the voucher program. Have you even read the proposals? Obviously not because you are spitting out false information.
Do you realize the proposal gives the same options that congress has now to shop different plans? So instead of having options of shopping around different plans as Congress does now you want a single plan forced on you by the government?
So 25Walker, what is your take on Obama shuffling over 700 Billion out of Medicare to fund Obamacare? It will decimate Medicare Advantage. My moms doctor of 25 years has already told her he will stop taking Medicare Advantage at the end of this year as a result of Obamacare. Now seniors, like my mom, will have to get more expensive Medigap type insurance. Over 90% of seniors have supplemental.
(Some ... actually, fewer and fewer) people make fun of Joe Biden, but in spite of the occasional gaffe, he looks the average American in the eye and tell them the truth - good or bad. He doesn't always tell you what you want to hear, but he does tell you what you need to know and I respect that. And people that press him, like the gentlemen in the article, often find out that he's a lot more savy than he is portrayed in the media.
The debate between Biden and Ryan promises to be very interesting because they're both smart guys and even better politicians. The Romney - Obama debates will be drama fests with each playing it save and trying not to mess up, but I think we'll hear more passion and policy with Biden - Ryan.
We love Joe Biden here in Delaware!
Ryan is clamoring to issue Medicare vouchers to our seniors to eliminate the program. .
His goal is to have our seniors pay more money, to receive less medical care.
Because you dare to believe that Ryan is telling the truth, you ask the above question. Here is the Ryan's plan: He will issue vouchers whose amounts are far less than the cost of the annual Medicare premiums. Many seniors will be unable to bridge the monetary gap. Thus, the aged and the infirmed will be left uninsured.
The above statement is another GOP/Ryan lie.
When the political winds were favorably blowing in the right-wing's direction, the GOP first tried to eliminate from Medicare's rolls, Medicare beneficiaries who were age 55 and under.
The GOP has spoken loudly and much has been written and read about the party's "proposals."
The above party's Medicare plan is heartless.
The right will not allow any effective health care plan for aged to legislated.
Obama's ACA is aimed at giving all of our citizens health care. Conservative Supreme Court judge, John Roberts, was the key vote in deciding that Obama's health care plan is constitutional.
You are free to state the facts, more so the GOP's actions.
Ryan's boss, Romney, states that the uninsured should go to local hospital emergency rooms to treat their [chronic] illnesses.
The GOP will never allow our seniors, who may be less healthy than those that are younger, to continue to receive adequate Medicare benefits.
A single payer plan will allow all Americans to have access to health care.
President Obama has forward vision. In the long run, his health care plan will realize significant savings.
Obama's plan will give Medicare beneficiaries equitable choices.
Because of rising health care costs and the fraud of the wealthy, Medicare has reduced its reimbursement amounts to physicians. However, Medicare still effectively and cost efficiently delivers medical care to many seniors. The program is a "model" for private plans.
Your mother's doctor may chose to accept only patients that are wealthy.
However, since the rich are "the few for the few, your mother's doctor will soon go out of business.
Obama/Biden 2012!
correction:
The right will not allow any effective health care plan for the aged to be legislated.
The Rep.T.P.have and continue to show that they have only the welfare of the rich in mind and action.Do any of us have to wonder who benefits from the tax proposals that they not only continue to push for but have actually promised,in writing to make permanent.? Please don't tell me that that act benefits me.or anyone ,excluding the super rich ,who get more than enough aids to over protecting their wealth. The two R's have always shown that they are exclusively of and for the rich so you who attempt to convince me that I would like the rape that I would receive from them, accept your bribes ,but it is for nothing!.
old fat head apparently your memory about veterans care is short bush let walter reed fall apart after he had the balls to send our military on a witch hunt in iraq, republicans have no conscience when it comes to sending other people's kids to die and get maimed for corporations let thier souls rot in hell.
The GOP use our kids blood so the 1% get a lavish life style !!!!!!!
First off, Joe Biden was one of the least wealthy members of the Senate with an adjusted gross income of approx. $330,000 per year. In addition to his salary, in the past he has received royalties from the sale of his memoir, speaking engagements, as well as a Law class that he taught at Widener University.
It's all in his tax returns...it's amazing how much you can learn from candidates when they release them.
As far as being worth millions, when you make $300k annually for several years, it's not impossible that through savings and investments you can actually be worth millions.
old fat guy-1144960
al Qaeda has been alive for decades. As a matter of fact, Afghanistanis & Bin Laden (which resulted in al Qaeda) was not only trained but also funded by the Reagan Administration. So here is another example of a 30 year-old pile of sh*t left by the Republicans who expected Obama to clean it up in 4 years.

"What we're witnessing is the arrogant, entitlement phenomenon!"
we have been witnessing that for decades , it is called the democrat party , there may be hope for you yet
Elizabeth Warren , now that's something funny , I wonder if she nows how to grow maze
Biden talking about seniors and medicare , that's laughable , Joe and Barry and Nancy and Harry are the only peeps stealing money from medicare , to the tune of 700 or 800 hundred billion
vinnie
"savings and investments" , that's how most evil "rich" people got to be millionaires , is that ok with you?
"There is always enough money to bail out banks, never enough to help the poor."
Barry bailed out the banks , remember? , he tells us that continually
the poor and not enough money? the poverty rate when Johnson's "war (scam) on poverty" started was around 19 percent , 2010 rate of 15.1 , 15 trillion dollars spent on the "scam on the poverty excuse" and nothing to show for it , barely budged and you are crying fo more money , I may not what the whole answer is but throwing money at it obviously isn't it, so another failed liberal tax money laundering program is exposed. The Cato Institute report may help you come up to date on the folly of failed experiment.
I for one, would like to know eactlly is..not what he claims. So far..he has not defined anything he talks about..and then to say...trust me...not likely. Under the republicans before, Bush, this nation lost tons of jobs per month...using the very same ideas Romney boast about today..why would this nation want to revisit those days of more jobs lost ?
The link below shows Romney bragging about his healthcare bill showing he has empathy in an interview and then 10 minutes later being against ObamaCare at a campaign rally.

I believe that you will find most people, progressives, moderates, and conservatives, find nothing evil or sinister with people that make their money legally and improve their station in life.
That is the embodiment of the American Dream, and when those people pay their equal share in taxes, then they can help others improve their station in life as well.
Where I do take issue is when the ultra-rich try to use their power and influence to buy elections in order to further alter the playing field in their advantage, particularly through more tax cuts for the wealthiest at this disadvantage of the working class, and then lie to the American people about how necessary the tax cuts are when in reality the tax cuts do little to help grow our economy.
"Romney's Massachusetts health care bill" , what misnomer the Mass legislature created the health care legislation ,
"In Fall 2005, the House and Senate each passed health care insurance reform bills. The legislature made a number of changes to Governor Romney's original proposal, including expanding MassHealth (Medicaid and SCHIP) coverage to low-income children and restoring funding for public health programs. The most controversial change was the addition of a provision which requires firms with 11 or more workers that do not provide "fair and reasonable" health coverage to their workers to pay an annual penalty. This contribution, initially $295 annually per worker, is intended to equalize the free care pool charges imposed on employers who do and do not cover their workers.
On April 12, 2006, Governor Mitt Romney signed the health legislation. Romney vetoed eight sections of the health care legislation, including the controversial employer assessment. Romney also vetoed provisions providing dental benefits to poor residents on the Medicaid program, and providing health coverage to senior and disabled legal immigrants not eligible for federal Medicaid. The legislature promptly overrode six of the eight gubernatorial section vetoes, on May 4, 2006, and by mid-June 2006 had overridden the remaining two"
so , the penalty for business and the free entitlement crap came from the Mass legislature , Romney simply "compromised" and sign it.
Some believe it is the model for the Obama/Progressive/Leftist scheme , but there is no personal mandate in the Mass bill , and that is a vast difference.
the Cloward-Piven Strategy is in full use as well
"fair and equal share" ? , they should pay more in taxes for the same services you get , no more no less services? , I vote that your parents and grandparents should be paying double in taxes because they were the generations before you and they left you with all these problems , they did vote didn't they? , and the people they voted for got us here , what do you think?
you mean like George Soros? your last paragraph is left leaning rhetoric and talking points and is easily discounted , even with wikipedia , but thats ok age will bring new thinking and wisdom for you , all be cool with you anyway
oh , the tax on investments , capital gains , come in two levels , short term which is taxed at your REGULAR tax rate and long term which is currently 15%.
the short term rate is applied to gains on assets held for less than a year , thus taxing windfall profits at a normal (35%) tax rate so the rich can't steal from you
you know who else will get smacked down if Barry and Nancy and Harry get their way nad run capital gains taxes to 35 or 40% ? you got it , your grandparents and parents , because THEY make money on their retirement plans and investments from capital gains , sometimes the unseen downsides can taint the "feel good" intentions
Really? You're resorting to ad hominem arguments? Well, if you prefer corporate facism, then good luck with that. The Republican party is systematically destroying our democracy through voter suppression efforsts, unlimited Super PAC contributions, the Supreme Court's ruling for Citizen's United, etc... They are trying to reach a point where voting will be inconsequential, that their hand-picked rulers will be in control.
That is exactly what our forefathers fought against.
You have no idea what you are talking about. My parents, although eligible for Social Security, continue to work because they cannot afford to retire yet. I only have 1 surviving grandparent left, and she survives on SS and stocks from when she worked for the phone company...she is a staunch democrat and has no qualms about paying taxes, and at 92 years old is helping to making sure that Romney/Ryan do not voucherize Medicare.
However, do you know who tried to pass laws to encourage bringing companies back to the USA and discourage outsourcing of jobs? Do you know who tried to pass laws to create jobs for Veterans? Do you know who has tried to pass jobs bills over and over again? That's right, Obama and Pelosi.
Do you know who blocked those laws? That's right, Boehner, McConnell and the rest of the Republicans because they are unpatriotic and cannot stand seeing America successful under the leadership of the opposition.
"left leaning rhetoric" is an ad hominem attack , if you say so , Websters may be interpreted differently
you win
hahahaha , and your parents don't have any investments drawing capital gains taxes , have a talk with them , it may be enlightening
"Romney-Ryan to take back America from the Progressives and the RADICALS"
It’s so entertaining to listen to the right wing people whine, gripe and carry on about the reelection of President Obama. According to the, if that happens (and it will) the nation will be destroyed, we will be broke, our enemies will be at our doorstep, western civilizations we know it will no longer exist. Well right wingers --- you sang this tune before –back in 1996. You said the same things about Bill Clinton. What followed after the Clinton reelection was the largest economic expansion of all times combined with a decreasing crime rate, next to no inflation, an all time low unemployment rate and balanced federal budgets. Most of the economic gloom and doom the right predicted did happen --- 12 years later under George W. Bush.
Charlie, I could not have put it any better. You are spot on!
Where is your outrage for he "billions" of US Tax dollars paid out in bonuses to the likes of Goldman Sachs executives? People who are still gambling with our economy using US Tax dollars as their insurance policy.
Or is it just workers receiving a pathetic $1,000 that rates your ire.
You're as bad as the idiot you want to elect! Most of us don't have investments drawing capital gains taxes. Damn man...go back to the pool and wait for your check.
Did he know where he was? Did he try to scare the old folks into thinking the Republicans are going to put them back in chains? Did anyone hear; "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said.
Romney says health insurance premiums have gone up $2,500 under Obama. The actual increase has been $1,700, most of which was absorbed by employers and only a small part of which is attibutable to the health care law.
Romney said Obama "cut Medicare by $716 billion to pay for Obamacare," but these cuts into the future growth of spending prolong the life of the Medicare trust fund, stretching the program's finances out longer than they would last otherwise.
Romney said the health care law is "killing jobs in small business." But CBO says the law would have a "small" impact on jobs, mainly affecting the amount of labor workers choose to supply. Those getting subsidies, for instance, might work less hours since they're paying less for health care.
Romney said he would bring health care costs down by "finally dealing with malpractice costs," but experts say medical malpractice doesn't make much of a dent in health care spending.

Obama/Biden 2012
What that is saying is Romney is a Phony !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elise,
That "most of the $1700 increase borne by employers" you refer to is also the same "most of $1700" you'll never see in a pay raise because your employer has to pay more for your health insurance thanks to the Big O .
What that is saying is that Jumping Joe is rattling on again with his gaffes.
Some premiums here have more than doubled, making it unaffordable. It IS killing small businesses.
Common dude - I work for Republicans - we don't get any benefits - except one week vacation no matter how long you have worked for them.
I have my own health care insurance - husband self-employed so......
Just giving out the facts directly from factcheck.org - no political affiliation.
Obama/Biden 2012
Factcheck.org is the best libby joke there is for finding "Facts". According to Factcheck. org, Obama registered with Selective Service in 1980 and got a Social Security card in 1986. YOU DID NOT have to register for Selective Service from the late 70's until 1984, when it was made manditory. And if he had registered, he would have needed a Social Security card. So, check your "Facts at the door. I'm the same age as the president so you can't tell me anything other than the truth about registering.
OH NOES!
Can't defend the truth? Attack the source... lmao!
Oldest trick in the dirty GNOP playbook!
*yawn*
Elise, SF....I owned my own business for over 40 years and provided health insurance for my 50 employees. In every year health insurance premiums went up. This year the increase was considerably less than it has been every year for the last 10 years, so anyone who says that Obamacare has caused increases in premiums is plumb crazy. Don't take my word for it, look up what average medical premiums have increased for the last 10 years and the facts are right there, increase after Obamacare is a lot less than it has been in previous years. Don't take other peoples claims as facts, look them up for yourself before you buy into the propaganda !
( Actually Elise this comment not directed at you but is relative to your post ).
Yes, health insurance premiums are going up. They have been going up every year, starting long before the ACA was even proposed. That is what happens when private industry and unrestrained capitalism run the Health Care Industry.
That unrestrained greed by the private health industry is what is bankrupting our country. Covering health benefits for retirees is one of the main reasons the auto industry was failing. If you want to solve our problems, you have to tackle that one first. We don't have public health in this country, we have a system run by private industry, so don't try to make the argument that the marketplace will in any way help this. The marketplace has already led us to the brink.
Medicaire works. Don't throw it to the wolves of the private health care industry. They have time and again shown us they are only concerned with their private gain. Just ask Governor Scott down in Florida.
commonamerican1..........Do your research. Health insurance premiums have gone up less this year than they have for each of the previous 10 years, so how can you connect that to Obamacare ? If anything Obamacare has lowered the rate of increase in premiums !
George Soros, who just gave at least 1 million dollars to Obama'a campaign, funds Factcheck.org
1TruthSpeaker........go back and do the research and then tell us when the last year was that health insurance premiums went up AS LITTLE as they did last year ! Yes they are going up at a painful rate, but they have been for many years, and lasts year's increases were actually lower than they have been for years, so you sure can't blame the situation on Obamacare !
Top 5 Worst Things About Lying Ryan's Record
1. Paul Ryan authored budget proposals that would end Medicare as we know it. His budget proposal would repeal health care reform, sticking seniors with the bill and leaving their health care at risk. This is especially problematic for women, who make up fifty-six percent of Medicare beneficiaries.
2. Paul Ryan’s budget plan would have cut SNAP grants by 18%. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) grants, also known as food stamps, has kept 3.9 million Americans (equivalent to the entire population of Oregon), including 1.7 million children, out of poverty, and allowed them to keep their families from going hungry. This plan also would have drastically cut jobs, leaving 174,000 people out of work.
3. Paul Ryan is bad for women. He voted for a bill that would have effectively banned abortion coverage by insurers who received federal or taxpayer funding. This bill, which Ryan favored, would have allowed anyone involved to refuse to perform an abortion for any reason, even if the life of the woman needing the abortion was in danger.
4. Paul Ryan is extremely anti-choice. Paul Ryan voted for the Protect Life Act, which grants hospitals far-reaching powers to deny women abortion care, without any exception for emergency situations. US law currently requires hospitals receiving federal funds to provide emergency care to anyone in need up to the point at which they can be stabilized or transferred, if the original hospital is incapable of providing the care they need. "The misnamed Protect Life Act is about allowing women to die if
they need an emergency abortion," said Meghan Rhoad, women’s rights researcher at Human Rights Watch. "It is a vicious attack on women’s rights and on the most basic right to life.’”
5. Paul Ryan wants to defund Planned Parenthood. This ideological attack would only result in more women losing access to necessary and basic health care. One in five American women have used Planned Parenthood health services.
There you have it. While Mitt Romney parades Paul Ryan around as his pick to be first in the line of succession to the presidency, you now have the facts. Paul Ryan has a long history of voting against affordable health care and women’s health. His legislative priorities leave millions of people at risk of losing their health care and in medical and financial danger. Combined with Mitt Romney’s bad policies, it’s clear: the Romney/Ryan ticket is bad for women and families.
Yeah, mhrjhn...and the RNC is guilty of voter fraud in Florida and Mittsy is now embracing affordable health care to win votes. You've been screwed without any jelly and you didn't even notice.
I'll take the truth over your lying criminals.
Sucks to be you.
Romney is nuttier than a squirrel turd.
@Fiesty- sorry but I am 50 years old so I was there and you............................... factcheck has the president registering with Selective in 1980. SS card 1986. Look it up Oh the pain of the truth............
American health care costs were just a hair higher than average until around 1980, when the costs started going up. And up and up and up. For decades..........
Now we are paying almost twice as much as the French, who are complaining about the costs of their health care. And we are still around 37th in the world. The Dominican Republic and Costa Rico do better than America.
i would rather have the insurance t times.it can pay out more than the $1700. only a republican or somebody connected to the healthcare industry would complain like you.
You are poor excuse for a man... please tighten the chin-strap on your tin foil hat and wait for the short bus!
Please do tell... how it feels to be taking it up the ass? LMAO@U... fool!
Just in case you haven't noticed... I don't take fools lightly! ;o)
Feisty,
I see where factcheck.org and politifact.org are both saying the President's speech where he says he is only responsible for 10% of the deficit is completely false, do you agree with them on that?
Elise, whether it went up 1,700 or 2,500 the President told us if Obamacare was implemented our premiums would be 2,500 LOWER by the end of his first term.
He also said he would cut the deficit in half, but it is running 500% above that projection every year. Cutting it in half would have put it at about 230-240Billion. I'm sure somehow it's Bushs fault though.
Onermailliw ...... the only sure thing about having any conversation with feisty is that you will be called names. i.e. "poor excuse for a man" "fool" "take it up the @ss"
Feisty,
Can't defend the truth? Attack the person. Oldest Liberal trick in the book. See how that works? They asked you a question to look up something from a source you swear by and you lay down a personal attack. Very telling.
Elise, SF @2 Who cares who "absorbs" it. When a spung is wrung out; the water flows down hill. A hit on an employer is a blow to the economy and the employees as well. Go back to "Voodoo Economics 101".
As to Biden, his only asset is the ability to lie with a straight face. Cutting out deductions such as interest paid on a mortgage will not effect the seniors. Telling seniors that Romney is going to increase THEIR tax burden by $400.00+ is a LIE just like telling them that the proposed Republican Medicare plan would cost them more is a LIE (the proposal only effects those under 55)
Where did the concept of an honest election go? We are losing our Democracy as the founding fathers envisioned it. They were Honorable men who assumed that the generations to follow would be equality Honorable.
Alexander Hamilton lost his life defending his personal Honor. That sense of Honor no longer exists. I fear that I will die as the last Honorable man, one who believes in truth, integrity and honesty.
PS: To those who care, go back through my posts. I have never expressed an opinion based upon political preference. My opinions are based on the facts as I see them. I would like to know the source of recent comments implying that I am a Republican.
To those who are complaining,I am one of them, that our Health Care is too expensive and not equal to it's cost. The A.C.A. is to allow the government to make it affordable and also to improve it.We,individually are not powerful enough to dealwith the Insurance or Medical Industries. The fears of you ,who have been threatened by those industries, should not be alarmed. All of the countries that have a national health coverage went through that experience but when the national act is the only game in town the medical field accepts it.

John: There is substantial evidence that Feisty is an employee, a little propaganda girl, of First Read.
Agreed.
Some physicians do practice defensive medicine.
However, medical malpractice awards are not the major reason for skyrocketing medical costs. Medical care is a "non-negotiable" service. In their lifetime, most people will become sick. The medical industry is highly aware of this fact. Thus, above a reasonable profit margin for medical care, probably there is excessive pricing added.
Romney will weaken medical malpractice laws.
The GOP's goal to weaken medical malpractice laws will slam the doors on justifiable restitution, for the medically injured "little guy."
Obama/Biden 2012
Let's see; I believe Willard Romney pushed for and approved a health care system with a public mandate while governor of his state...isn't that true? Isn't he now constantly telling the American Public that proves he cares? Isn't the the same health care program he was running away from during the primaries?
Do you even know who your candidate is? ...no one else does.
A damn good portion of it is. Two unfunded wars, one of which was a war of choice, off the budget (emergency funding), Medicare Part D (unfunded), Bush Tax Cuts (unfunded).
The majority of the credit though goes to John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and every Republican in both houses who signed Grover Norquist's pledge not to raise taxes no matter what. That along with their willingness to watch the United States go down the tubes if it means they can regain power is exactly where the fault lies.
By the way, when Bush left office the debt to GDP ration was 10%...it's now about 7%.
Ol_Doc,
Spot on, good post!
BigATC types a lot of "analogies."
However, he never replies with a rebuttal or with any facts.
He just drops the GOP "lines" and takes off.
Team Romney always claims the numbers are skewered. If it wasn't for mathematics, republicans could've ruled the world!

Rumors that Ryan is going on Medical Pot for the debate !!!!
Rumors are that Mr. Obama has reverted to his "gotta try it (the white stuff)" college days and is smoking behind the curtains.
| Rumors that Ryan is going on Medical Pot for the debate !!!!
He always appeared to me as a frequent user.
Rumors are that Princess Ann and her prancing pony are pissed that they won't be redecorating the Oval Office on the taxpayer dime this winter. No wonder Mittens prefers the company of the Ayn Rand society. It's probably pretty frosty in Massachusetts...or California... or Utah.... or Michigan... or wherever they claim to live these days.
Ido - there in NO such rumor going around. That filthy lie is strictly yours.
Let's see, I can start one too. Anne Romney isn't the mother to all of Mitt's boys - his other wives had two of them! See how easy that is?
Obama/Biden 2012
SeekingSanity: Your joke lie is more believable than anything the Willard team ever dreams up.
Obama/Biden 2012
If I told you that I had a plan to fix the deficit, cut taxes and increase revenue and military spending all at the same time but refused to tell you how, would you trust me with the most important job in our country?
Not this shady character.
Ido has to become filthy scum to support filthy scum.
hey, mitt's grandfather was a polygamist. anything is possible with that family.
mormons believe in more than 1 wife.
Right. More health care for less cost. What a lie!
Ido,
Rumors?
I heard a few people say that the reason Romney beat up the gay kid in school was because the kid was going to tell everyone that they were lovers. That's why immediately after Rmoney graduated from high school his family sent him of to France on a mission for the church (try to pry the gay away). The church was forced to send him home because of the many gay affairs that he was having there. His family forced him to marry Ann or be cut out of his fathers will. He has stayed married to her because he found out that's it a great cover.
Lulu less is more that's the Republican Motto cant be any worse then it is now!

@Why?
"I heard a few people say..."
I heard a few people say the same thing about you , care to elaborate?
According to analyses by the Congressional Budget Office and the chief Medicare actuary, Obama’s health care overhaul will reduce future Medicare spending by between $400 billion and $600 billion in its first ten years. The Medicare provisions in the Affordable Care Act are designed to squeeze savings out of Medicare by pressing hospitals, hospices and other providers to become more efficient and by reducing spending on Medicare Advantage plans.
Ryan’s proposed Medicare reform would gradually increase the Medicare eligibility age to 67. The phased-in increase in the eligibility age would start in 2023. Ryan’s proposal would also do away with Medicare’s open-ended payments for those born in 1958 and later. The Ryan Medicare plan would not apply to those now receiving Medicare benefits.
Kannin, explaining how the Ryan medicare plan would not apply to those now receiving benefits is futile. It's like trying to teach people what an effective tax rate is. And yet, we still try. Carry on!
Romney/Ryan 2012 - A New Hope
Kannin - you forgot how much the Ryan proposed Medicare Reform would cost. I believe it is set at about $700 billion - plus!
President Obama's plan would hold the hospitals and providers to cut wasteful spending - like $17 for an aspirin (I swear that's what I was charged in the hospital).
Obama/Biden 2012
Mr. Obama's Obama(doesnot)Care will immediately be transformed into a SINGLE PAYER system IF, and that is a big IF, he is re-elected. And, there will be about 6,000,000 folks who will be WITHOUT health care under his plan.
Welcome to Obama"Nanny State".
Looks like Romney and Ryan are finish, don't let the door hit you in the A$$ on the way OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kannin - The link below provides you with some good medicare reading. Not the Romney/Ryan "medicare farce" from Bullsh!t Mountain.
http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/08/24/evidence-vs-ideology-in-the-medicare-debate/
Tom - Some interesting stuff but very highly biased in what it chooses to discuss, it mostly offers only opinion statements like "Representative Ryan has won praise from many deficit hawks for his advocacy of premium support, but this praise is unwarranted... whose primary goals are repealing health-care reform and cutting taxes for the wealthy"
Your "recommended reading" was like me telling you to go to an RNC site to learn the truth.
Give them an inch they'll take a mile. I don't trust them. If they get away with that than what would keep them from slipping in some rider on a bill that extends the vouchers and that other crap to current Medicare recipients. As one who is on Medicare I wouldn't like that. I simply dont trust Ryan and Romney.
I have three brothers younger than I am. Rack and Ruin say that they will not hurt me, but my brothers are toast. Hmmmm. I am voting for my family.
O and Joe 2012.
Kannin,
The CBO report you are quoting do you know when it is from? The reason I ask they have already had to make two changes to the revenue side of the plan.
The first was the 1099 fiasco where a business was going to have to give a 1099 to every customer who spent $600.00 in a year in a business no matter how. So if you went to the same gas station every week you have to get a 1099 from them, or if you ate frequently at the same restaurant, etc.
The second was the CLASS program where they expected young people to make monthly payments to cover their long term care but the problem was nobody joined. They were counting on this money to cover the short term deficits which now are not going to happel
Jerry you are correct the CLASS part was supposed to be a big part of Obamacare and the actuary and Sebellius both said it couldn't be funded and is toast. Imagine that, theoriticians thinking up the perfect plan and it didn't come close to being fundable.
Also...
- $206 Billion in Medicare Advantage cuts (CBO)
-Half of states child only policies reduced or eliminated.
-Met Life discontinuing long term care
-Principal group leaving health insurance
-Childrens hospitals don't get major discounts for rare drugs
-SEIU dropped 30,000 children from its Family Health Plus
- Cook medical in my state (IN) canceled 5 plants it had plans to build due to Obamacare and the new medical device tax
And all of this stuff is being written by unelected beurocrats. We have barely gotten started.
That's what Ryan and the Republican Party are telling us. They say in effect, listen to my words...don't believe the facts. With a combination of the Ryan plan and the repeal of the Affordable Health Care Act, the Medicare trust fund would go bankrupt between 2016-2017. While the Ryan plan "states" that current seniors would be unaffected...if the trust fund goes bankrupt the will most assuredly be affected.
Good Ol Joe.
Still shoveling 10 lbs into a 5 lb sack.
The elephant poo keeps piling up. Joe is trying to fill whatever he can to get it out of there but it keeps getting deeper and deeper, higher and higher.
The less Medicare reimbursement to doctors, the more Medicare fraud will occur. Doctors feel entitled to a fair fee for their services.
Single payer eliminates the big insurance company middleman, which is good for the people, but bankrupts the insurance companies. A phased in 10 year single payer system is the only answer to lower healthcare cost to the consumer.
lilDi - no one is suggesting less than fair fees for doctors. But it will cut the waste as I indicated above - no $17 aspirins.
Obama/Biden 2012
That $17 aspirin is to cover the cost of providing healthcare to the uninsured that don't pay their bill. The hospital has to recover their losses.
Nor a $2,500 increase in Health Care payments under Obama(doesnot)Care.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Romney-Ryan 2012 to take back America from the PROGRESSIVES and the RADICALS.
Instead of 17$ aspirin to cover the cost of providing healthcare to the uninsured that don't pay their bills, how about making people get health insurance?
Stage left ACA...
Recall Biden saying the surge wouldn't work and thought dividing Iraq into three differnet zones was a good idea?
And Obama holds this moron out as his foriegn policy expert. No wonder the Middle East is on fire.
Though you wouldn't know it from MessNBC...
straight to the trash barrel with this inflammatory nonsense.
Posted by someone with no memory of embarrassing Biden moments or just an outright liar. Which is it?
The Democrats dont want to drill locally, the Republicans want to hike taxes on the poor (even though there isn't much blood to be had from that turnip). Why don't we just drop a nuke on iran's testing facility, pull out of the middle east completely, make it impossible for terrorists to get into this country and call it a day.
After Obama cut $700 billion in waste, fraud, abuse, and unearned tribute payments (13% on top of every claim paid) to big insurance, Republicans began to wast our time with fraud and abuse of the facts, using money donated by big insurance. Corruption of Medicare is on a teeter-totter with the Republican Party. One goes down and the other goes up.
The "Richie Rich" Ryan Plan for Medicare and Medicaid is very simple. Turn it into a private "Vulture System" which will be run by all Private Insurance Corporations. It will be economically supported by the "Economic Speculators" from firms like Bain Capital. The "RIchie Rich" Plan is to financially drain/steal the Social Security Fund, and then sell it off to China. Just like with tires. The GOP/RNC "Bain Trained" Speculator will drive all wasteful Government Programs in bankruptcy, and then steal all their funds. Under the "Economic Evil" of the GOP/RNC "Romulian" has NO plan for a fair Tax Plan, no fair Jobs Bill, no plan to keep jobs in America. To the great citizens of Florida! "Romulian Romney" is not patriotic, not fair, not competent, and not able too tell the truth. That is fact!
Lets protect our Social Security, and Medicare. Lets move this country forward inspite of the Republican party of NO. All these lies keep coming from the Republican party and I keep spending my time going to fact check, or snoops and ask them for the truth and over and over again nothing but lies, lies from the Republican party. All it does is make me mad to be lied to all the time from them. We all need to send the Republican party, the party that has stopped the greatest country in the world from moving forward with all their NO, NO, NO's of what President Obama wants to do to move everyone forward. President Obama WILL protect Social Security and Medicare but we have to help him by supporting him. DUMP Romney/Ryan, the Republican Party in a big way November. I am voting straight Democratic ticket for the good of my country. OBAMA/BIDEN MOVING AMERICA FORWARD.
Our parents and grandparents and great grandparents fought the two world wars and the others after it through the last century to let all those we fought against and these we defended from certain destruction and then helped rebuild most of those countries after we could have let them fall apart just to have worse access to health care and decent retirement security they they have, because of REPUBS new Tea Party/Kochs/Billioinaires GREED??!! GOP = no safety net and let hundreds of millions be replaced by Mitt's Chinese slave labor folks he loved to see.
Great post and accurate.
You can have all the elements of Obamacare implemented and still have deteriorating health care. Take note of how many doctors have stated that they will either leave their practice or deny care to Medicare and Medicaid patients. If you have a choice of treating a patient who has decent medical insurance and another who can pay a fraction of that, guess who gets priority. Doctors are in business too. So what happens is that more Medicare and Medicaid patients will go to hospital ER's which are already overloaded. You will probably get seen, eventually, but will it be in time?
As to the official name "The Affordable Health Care Act", that's a joke. My medical premiums have gone up over a $1,000 since this stupid thing passed.
How much have your premiums gone up since you were able to get health insurance before Obama care
Rich - considering the AHCA hasn't been implemented yet, blame the increase in your medical premiums on something else.
Amazingly, mine have gone down!
Obama/Biden 2012
If Rich's cat ran away from home, he would blame that on Obama.
Like, oh, I don't know, Insurance company price gouging maybe? Or, maybe its their way of trying to get folks like you, Rich, to want AHCA repealed so that they can continue their lying, cheating, and despicable ways.
Rich, I don't know where you're from, but in my area the Doctors had petitions in their offices SUPPORTING the Affordable Care Act. If there are truly Dr's bailing because of it, where are they?

Give 'em hell, Joe!
Can't wait for the debates. Looking for a Benson v. Quayle "You're not Jack Kennedy" moment when Biden takes Ryan to the woodshed.
Obama/Biden 2012
Lyin' Ryan will underestimate Joe and overestimate himself. Lyin' Ryan has such an overinflated ego which will be carried into the debates where is arrogance will shine through. Joe Biden is a seasoned and well respected statesman. Ryan doesn't stand a chance against Joe. Joe will tell it like it is, while Lyin Ryan will do what he does best.......lie his way out of it.
O&Joe 2012
Give 'em Hell Joe!
Ryan is incapable of speaking "off the cuff". He's 100% scripted, down to his facial expressions. I'm almost too embarrassed for him to watch the debate--EXCEPT he has a little bit of arrogance that needs pounding. Joe Biden is just the guy to put him in his place.
Paul Ryan-Honey Boo Boo 2016 the go team
Who or what is a honey boo boo?
"Providing health care for all the people of Massachusetts proves I've got empathy for people! Now, DOWN WITH OBAMACARE!"
Obama/Biden 2012
President Obama is going to wipe the debate floor with the GOP/RNC "Speculator and Chief." That is fact! It is going to be entertaining to see the GOP/RNC "Romulian" being taken apart by the President. The President is going to be thorough in his political destruction of the GOP/RNC "Romulian."
"Dammit! (stamps feet) I have empathy!" Mitt Romney......Income tax evader.
Biden is going to get owned in the debates....haha.
Biden will OWN the debate.

Yeah we get it. Rah Rah Go Team! You LOVE the Giants; you HATE the Dolphins. You LOVE Chevys; you HATE Fords. You LOVE the Democrats; you HATE the Republicans.
Blind loyalty to a sports team is cute. Blind loyalty to a brand of automobile is unwise. Blind loyalty to a political party is dangerous.
This election isn't about your favorite team winning; it's about our future!
@Kannin,
There are those of us who LOVE this COUNTRY enough to not want it to fall into the hands of heartless opportunists.
Obama/Biden 2012
"heartless opportunists"? Really? Do you actually believe that?
@Kannin,
Yes, I do. These guys care nothing about People. They only care about profit.
I totally agree with Bali Bob. Romney and Ryan will set their corporate friends up quite nicely if they get in. The rest of us, and that includes you Kannin......not so much. They will make extreme cuts to everything that affects low and middle class incomes while barely putting a dent into anything that benefits the 1% and their corporate kingpins. Romney has moved so far to the right to try and appease the right wing tea party extremists(now that's a crazy and dangerous bunch). The new Republican party is a very real threat to this country. You may not like Obama, we all get that, but Obama, since some of you see it this way, I don't, is considered to be the lesser of two evils to the many moderate Republicans and I think that many of them will either stay home on voting day or they may very quietly vote for Obama.
And, yes, it is true that both candidates do have some big donors on their side, but Adelson and the Koch Brothers? The only reason that they have given gazillions of dollars to the Romney campaign is because they expect even bigger returns if Romney gets in. Romney will be their whipping boy. They probably can't stand Romney, but he is who they thought in their crowd had the best chance to go up against Obama, hence all the money they have dumped into his campaign.
AlaskaGirl-759554, Bali Bob - You two are probably fairly typical of this country's voters. Kinda sad. And it explains why Obama seems to be ahead in the polls.
It is said that "people tend to get the government that they deserve" My only complaint is that I don't deserve the government that you do, but I may still have to suffer with it.

@Kannin,
Thanks for the compliment. I like to believe that I'm "typical" of this country's voters, and that it's because of "typical" folks like myself that President Obama will be re-elected.
Kannin has a point. Bush's stupidity cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars and I did not vote for him. But I guess I did better than the millions who lost their jobs and homes. Or the 6,500+ soldiers who lost their lives.
I really don't understand how anyone could actually vote for the Republican Party after the hugh mess they have created. Iraq for example, lies to everyone in the world and the costs are out of this world. The hugh debt we have all the while President Obama has spent his time in his first term try to put the brakes on an economy going down the toilet caused by the Republicans. Now how does Romney/Ryan want to lead?? Lets put more money into the millitary than they are asking for. Lets give tax breaks to the wealthy. Lets privitize Social Security and give out vouchers to people on Medicare. Oh, wait a minute that is only for people under 54 years of age or is that another lie and that will change to everyone once they get elected? I am sick of the Republicans and what they have done to our America and to our standing in the world. I don't want to ever see the likes of the Bush's, Romneys, Ryan's, Santorum's Cheney's and other Republicans ever to lead the United States again. Lets let President Obama continue to fix up the Republicans hugh mess. Obama/Biden 2012
The for profit Insurance Co's have been raising rates for over a decade, just because they can, they don't have to have a reason, and this excuse that it is Obamacare is just an excuse.
My husbands Co changed insurance Co's back in 2010, they used to offer a choice of at least two plans, one the employee premiums would be higher but better coverage, this time they only offered one plan, because it was cheapest for them, and it is 20/80 plan, when my husband broke his leg, surgery etc 1 day 1 night stay our portion was 7,000 dollars, we paid off early and saved 700 dollars. So 1,000 dollars premium raise doesn't sound so bad now does it.
O&JOE
I doubt many people will watch the Biden/Ryan debate. Especially if Romney does poorly on October 3rd.
I like to watch debates. And then it is good to watch the debate afterwards. We already know to begin with how important ratings and winners are to Fox News so everyone has to be prepared to give them a little slack. We can all write the script right now as to how Mitt won and how awful Obama was. Unless of course Mitt is really being himself. And then you might get a lot of people on Fox having to use the restroom or covering their faces and wringing their hands. If you just use the info from the last year of Romneys adventures there is no way in the world he is going to excell. I doubt that the questioner is going to just lob softball prepared questions at him. And then some have heard him say different things. First I guess he has to decide what side of an issue he will be on. And then probably with Mitt is that he won't know or remember what he is to say about what issue. I would simply love him to contradict himself several times right in the middle of the debate. You know like he does when he talks to two different audiences the same day. He likes healthcare but he doesn't.He is going to get rid of it and bring back some of the same parts?? (Why not just amend it?) He is going to save medicare but he is going to suggest vouchers.( So how is that saving it at all?) And best of all I love when he truly truly thinks that 47% really just need to get a job - that he shipped overseas. Now how is he going to explain away what he really thinks? He isn't. No way he can. We got the most info out of the Boca Raton video which I wish they could play at the debate for him to explain. Other than that he is using the blank slate technique. One which you can shake like an etch a sketch daily. Obama will win this debate big time no matter what Fox News says.
If only the camera were on the Romney advisors and the Fox "News" reporters during the debate, now that would be entertainment!
But Team Romney counters that those numbers are based on a third party's assessment that's riddled with uncertainties and assumptions rather than Romney's actual plan, which the campaign promises on its website "will not raise [Social Security] taxes and will not affect today's seniors or those nearing retirement."
So, this mythical plan actually exists????? I have not heard of anyone that has seen it.
Reading through these posts, you don't hear of many things none the less take an initiative to find information.
Bobble-head
Obama/Biden...mythbusters.
And Paul Ryan got into public service because he liked the principles of Ayn Rand, a russian athiest. And now he just likes her economic policies. Russian athiest economic policies. I think Obama is right when he says bring back economic patriotism. And Ryan that would be American patriotism not russian. One thing is for sure I have never see such a selfish duo as Romney and Ryan. They are we got it, our parents gave it to us, and if you want some get it from your parents too. And I am not kidding. That is the way these two think for real. It is called the spoiled boys club and they think the rest of us are going to go along with that college bunk.

You hit the nail onn the head. Mis-Fit Mitt and Lyin Ryan, are spoiled little rich boys who never had to do a honest day work. They would blow their brains out if they had too worry about paying the bills, working paycheck to paycheck. And yet we are suppose to believe that they really give a crap about us. They run all over the place telling people what they will do for them and they know they have no real game plan, they are just relying on the hatred of the President. We better wake up and see them for who they really are, or they will destroy this country as we know it.
Learn how to spell "atheist" you far left moron.
Romney actually let something slip out the other day, and I'm surprised nobody picked up on it...There's a cap on SS tax deduction from your pay, but no cap on medicare payroll tax. Romney mentioned that he might possibly make insurance benefits part of a person's pay for tax purposes if they're making over 200K a year. This would add more money to the medicare pot. He knows that, and it becomes more reasonable to surmise that he does want to save the program, and not just decimate it. That actually surprised me, until I remembered that Mitt is actually closer to center on issues than he's been portraying since the primaries began.
Respectfully how can you tell what Romney is closer to except counting his money. I have never seen anyone so obsessed with money and jealous that someone else might get a penny here or there that he doesn't. And from what I have seen, his parents weren't like that at all. Rebellious son? Or did he get upset because his dad and mom had to be on welfare at one time. I surprises me that he doesn't realize that he wouldn't be a rich man except for the US government. He could be one of those people who have to sneak across the border to even get here. And then he would speak spanish not french.
Vice President Biden has been a very good partner with President Obama. Before 2008 I didn't care for him as POTUS but if some WACKO-RIGHTY takes a pot-shot at Obama, which is one of my fears, I would be quite comfortable having him take the reins of the Government.
That's a great deal more than I could say about the DELUSIONAL R+R "team."
Trusting the POSTER BOY of AND for the GREEDY TOP 1% is One Foolish Idea!
By the way, one of the questions Obama should be asked is why he has decided to support the rioting Muslims by having the filmmaker arrested, pretty much ensuring they'll riot every time they're pisssed off at Americans.
Suzi, if you are going to make such an outlandish accusation you need to provide the proof of your accusation. Please provide the link showing the source or the article from a reputable news source that states that president Obama had the filmmaker arrested. Otherwise, stop with the ridiculous conspiracy theories. It only makes you look like a joke.
Suzi; The POTUS did NO SUCH THING! Just more LIES from the DESPERATE and SILLY CLOWN SHOW audience. Supporting the PARTY of AND for the GREEDY TOP 1% is certainly One Foolish Idea!
Suzi - you are going to have to do better than that if you want to get the Newsvine all time stupid statement award. The current leader is a republican who said that Obama violated bin Laden's constitutional rights when bin Laden was killed. Try again as that one is maybe top 10.
What part of respect don't you guys understand. Imagine a hornets nest. Obama goes up to it and says we either treat it with respect or get rid of it. ie Bin Laden and the many Al Queda leaders. Romney says oh just poke it. It won't hurt you. And then when the bees come out to sting them they blame the bees and Obama for not getting rid of the bees nest. Of course if he had got rid of the bees nest that wouldn't have been right either. Only we are not talking about bees. We are talking about other countries and people who last time I checked have the same right to be in this world as we do. I think some Christians have got off the track when they think I am Christian and only I have been created and have right to be here so you guys have to do it my way or else. I am hoping and praying the day never comes when we say God Bless America and God says why? We are not the chosen people after all. Israel is. Many of us just think we are.
God asked "Why?" long, long ago. Obama is God's judgement on America. The bees are also a judgement. And, by the way, there are no "reputable news sources" especially when it comes to Obama.
Quantum leap.I bet Romney wish he could do just that
