CINCINNATI, OH -- Paul Ryan, an ardent Green Bay Packers fan, blasted NFL replacement referees for their questionable call last night that cost the Packers the game against the Seattle Seahawks.
“I got to start off on something that was really troubling that occurred last night," said the Wisconsin congressman and Republican vice-presidential nominee at the top of his town hall here. "Did you guys watch that Packer game last night? I mean, give me a break. It is time to get the real refs."
But he didn't stop there. Ryan actually tried to draw a line between the replacement refs and President Obama.
"And you know what, it reminds me of President Obama and the economy," he contended. "If you can’t get it right, it is time to get out. I half think these refs work part-time for the Obama administration in the Budget Office. They see the national debt clock staring them in the face. They see a debt crisis, and they just ignore and pretend it didn’t even happen. They are trying to pick the winners and losers, and they don’t even do that very well.”
*** UPDATE *** President Obama tweeted with the personal "BO" signature, meaning it came from him: "NFL fans on both sides of the aisle hope the refs' lockout is settled soon. -bo"
The Obama campaign then also tweeted out that Obama already called for the real refs to come back on a radio show last week.
On WTAM-AM in Cleveland, Obama said, "But one thing I got to say, though, is it just me or do we have to get our regular refs back? ... I can't get involved with it, but I'm just expressing my point of view as a sports fan."

Well thanks Paul spoken like a true moron.
I swear he is an idiot along with Mitt Romney! How about sticking to the issues and stop trying to drag the Obama Administration into everything, especially a football game. I bet if this was any other team, it wouldn't bother you one bit, thus pin pointing the facts of you and Romney--- if it affects you, then it's a problem, but if it affects the other 47%, you give the middle finger. If anything, these refs work for you!!! Stick to the real issues and get a life!!
I love da Packers but can not support Lyin Ryan
Rather than generalize regarding the "calls" others have made. It might suit Ryan to look at the calls he has already made... such as his time running a marathon...the service required to be VP is a marathon...maybe he has already shared how he would respond to that effort. All candidates would be more informative if each addressed their efforts and not cast stones at others. It gets boring and old. Ryan's record since joining the race is fraught with inaccuracies. Just own up and tone up. People would respect that more than looking for what is wrong with others.
When watching the game it clearly looked like an interception by the packers. The refs clearly missed the shove in the back from the seahawks receiver but a judgmental call can't be reversed. After seeing more footage and better angles I have to go with the refs and the NFL. Defensive backs are trained to knock the ball down in this scenario and the packers made a huge error in going for the catch and it cost them the game. And on the way down with the ball the receiver managed to get his hands on it. So tie goes to the runner. Plain and simple. The NFL got it right and the Packers are now a bunch of cry babies, including their fans.
@ justme50A you couldn't have said it better!!
Paul, because you're such a effen eejit, plant your arse on the bench with your moronic buddy Wrongney.
Okay, so now Ryan finds a union to get behind because his Packers lost? Perhaps the Packers should quit whining and pull themselves up by thier bootstraps and really ask themselves one question. If they are supposed to be one of the NFL's elite teams, how is it they only put up 12 points against Seattle? The typical Ryan answer would be lack of personal responsibility and not working hard enough. Too bad he has a different opinion when it comes to overpaid athletes and an organization that sells shares to thier fans that are not worth a dime.
I know how you feel Paul, just last night I looked in my stash jar of Dove dark chocolate bites and it was empty!! I know it wasn't because somebody passed me that funny cigarette at the Willie Nelson concert so it must be that evil Obama that ate my chocolate. I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore! Wheres my chocolate?!?
Did he say budget office?
Somehow I knew the President had to be associated with this. Thank you Mr. Ryan for pointing this out, now can you please associate the relationship between eating cheese and diarrhea.
AWOL gives herself or himself their very own thumbs up on this witticism. Te he he he :)
What can we expect, when the officials came from the Lingerie Football League. They were so excited about seeing those tight butts, that they got distracted from the real game! It looks like the Seattle players had the "tighter"pants! It's been said that Odumbo likes "tight " pants also, and Moochelle says it is hard to pry Odumbo's nose from the screen when they are bent over! He is one sick "puppy!
Ryan you are a jerk and keep talking you and Mittens are showing exactly how you both feel about working America, only the rich like them are allowed to expect a fair wage. The rest of us should bow down to them and be grateful for the few crumbs they throw us.
gramgigi - Mittens? That is so gay. As in carefree, happy, te he he he! smiley face for ya :) te he he he
Lyin Ryan should be run out of the United States. He is against UNIONS as a Republican, but because there was a possibility, that there was a bad call against his favorite football team, HE is crying to get the UNION Refs back on the field. Which is it Lyin Ryan, Unions or no Unions. Ryan is becoming a bigger flip flopper than Robme. Neither one of them are wort two cents to the American People.
So, wascigar you bigot. You think no one should have a right to work unless they belong to a Union?
Ryan believes in people having the right to work in a Union and outside of one.
Your point is moronic, false and a lie. Guess you been listening to Obama speeches lately?
President Obama is the proverbial empty suit. Wind him up and he gives a great speech.
In another time, in the distant past, he would be riding around the West in a covered wagon selling Granny's Elixir with Michelle.
All the while thinking there's a sucker born every minute.
rebel, there is a sucker born every minute, just look in the mirror...
AWOL - the suckers are those who believe Obama. I don't, you do. You, sir, and the minions of the same ilk, are the sucker and suckees.
One more thing rebel, if you don't make over 2.5 million a year Romney is not talking about you as you are the 47%. Now go and happily cast your vote.
Lyin Ryan wants a break. Since when has the republican party been so supportive of unionized labor workers? Obviously, because it sounds expedient to say it before his chosen supporters, one is led to believe the repubs are totally on the side of labor. Lyin is from Wisconsin, but how soon he has forgotten what his republican governor attempted to do to quash labor unions. As for give me a break, Lyin, no one could have said it better; give America a break from your Lyin republican behind.
Sorry Mr. Ryan. I don't see the comparison between the job of NFL referee and the President of the USA.
The referee is on the spotlight for about 3 hours, when the game ends, it is over.
The president is on the spotlight 24 hours a day , 7 days a week from complainers like you who have no better solutions to offer. You made policies that you are complaining about.
The only comparison between Odumbo and those lingerie football coaches is that they both are attracted to mens butts. Yes, seattle won because their pants were tighter! If your team wants to win , with these guys, The team needs to buy their uniforms a couple of sizes smaller. Moochelle even says he is a disgrace!
