NEW YORK, N.Y. – In a pre-taped interview for ABC’s The View, President Barack Obama declined to call the lethal attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Libya terrorism despite his administration’s assertion that it was.
Asked by co-host Barbara Walters whether the attack was terrorism, the president responded, "There's no doubt that the kind of weapons that were used, the ongoing assault, that it wasn't just a mob action."
He added that there are "extremist strains" in the Middle Eastern countries adapting to new governments in the wake of their dictators being overthrown. But, he said, "the overwhelming majority of Muslims, they want the same things families here want."
During the interview, which he taped with his wife Michelle at ABC’s studios in New York City, the president also divulged that his toughest moment in office thus far was overseeing, at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, the dignified transfer of the remains of 30 soldiers killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
"It's very raw in those moments. It reminds you that freedom's not free," he said.
The interview also had some lighter moments, as when Michelle Obama joked that she is one of the few people who can anger her husband.
"By being thoroughly unreasonable," her husband added, smiling.
And when asked what they would like to do in five years, Mrs. Obama said she would like to take a long vacation, including retracing the honeymoon road trip she and her husband took 20 years ago from San Francisco to Los Angeles along Highway 1.
Her husband said he would think about those plans after the election.
"First things first here. We do have an election ahead," he said.
Of life after the White House, Obama said, "The thing I think I would enjoy the most is spending time, working with kids. Just giving young people the sense of possibility, of opportunity."

Can you believe that Romney REFUSED TO CLAIM millions of dollars tithed to his church in 2011 simply to float upward his 'effective tax rate' from the actual 9% up to a more publicly palatable 14.1%?
And when he loses in November, he'll likely refile the very next day to claim the church deduction.

Hardly, I'd say the 4500 troops that draft dodgers Dubya and Cheney sent to their deaths on a fool's errand in Iraq takes the cake. Oh, and let's not forget the 25,000 wounded, many of them hideously disfigured, not to mention a doubling of the suicide rate as well as huge problems with drugs and alcohol for returning troops. Were that not enough, how about the several HUNDRED THOUSAND innocent Iraqi civilians killed in this completely unnecessary war? But I guess they don't count, they're Iraqis.
Do me a favor you, drop me a line when you find all those WMD's that we supposedly went over there for. When you do find them, then you can lecture me about the unfortunate deaths of 4 Americans. It pales into insignificance compared to the debacle that Bush created in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention destroying our economy. Must be nice to live your entire life in denial.

They actually found out that Hussein lied about the WMD's and put out false intel so that Iran would fear him and Iran would not be a threat to Iraq... the problem was that it brought the Bush eye on him and gave Little Bush the excuse he needed to finish daddy's job. I still am not sure how Bush's mistake alleviates Obama of the disgraceful way he handled the ambassador's death..
According to your line of thinking.. one bad presidential decision..(Bush taking us into Iraq and all the deaths and injuries from that) then wipes out Obama being an idiot on this ambassador situation? Just disrespects all the losses of life instead of holding both of these leaders accountable...I mean really a woman's talk show instead of a formal press conference to discuss the death's of an ambassador and 3 brave souls..? I can't believe how these dems want to down play the loss of American lives. And not call it for what it is. But I guess if you are of the demo party, who's platform believes in the killing of children and denial of God and proud of it, guess this is whats expected of them.

To disrespect 4 American lives that were lose during an organized assault on sovereign soil of the US Embassy that resulted in the torture rape and murder of our ambassador and three brave Americans who tried to protect him. That's almost $2,000 apiece for every man, woman, and child in the country!
In the past, when governments have printed fiat money to cover their own expenses, there has been a short-term economic bump, but then inflation is always the ultimate result. To us, personally, that means that, if Obama is reelected, the buying power of our savings and income will be severely reduced within about 18 months. Think about what you will need to do in order to survive inflation - other than "blame Bush" - it will happen.
Romney, by contrast, is a proponent of fiscal conservatism. That is, he recognizes the ill effects of deficit spending.
Under Romney, inflation may be relatively mild; under Obama it will be brutal. If you are lucky enough to still have a job, your salary will not go down, but it will buy a lot less gas and groceries.

If Obama is allowed to continue his policies of reckless spending and printing funny money to cover it, inflation will accelerate at an exponential rate. Think Weimar Republic kind of inflation.
