On The View, questions for Obamas range from Libya to honeymoon

NEW YORK, N.Y. – In a pre-taped interview for ABC’s The View, President Barack Obama declined to call the lethal attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Libya terrorism despite his administration’s assertion that it was.

Asked by co-host Barbara Walters whether the attack was terrorism, the president responded, "There's no doubt that the kind of weapons that were used, the ongoing assault, that it wasn't just a mob action."

He added that there are "extremist strains" in the Middle Eastern countries adapting to new governments in the wake of their dictators being overthrown. But, he said, "the overwhelming majority of Muslims, they want the same things families here want."

During the interview, which he taped with his wife Michelle at ABC’s studios in New York City, the president also divulged that his toughest moment in office thus far was overseeing, at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, the dignified transfer of the remains of 30 soldiers killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

"It's very raw in those moments. It reminds you that freedom's not free," he said.

The interview also had some lighter moments, as when Michelle Obama joked that she is one of the few people who can anger her husband.

"By being thoroughly unreasonable," her husband added, smiling.

And when asked what they would like to do in five years, Mrs. Obama said she would like to take a long vacation, including retracing the honeymoon road trip she and her husband took 20 years ago from San Francisco to Los Angeles along Highway 1.

Her husband said he would think about those plans after the election.

"First things first here. We do have an election ahead," he said.

Of life after the White House, Obama said, "The thing I think I would enjoy the most is spending time, working with kids. Just giving young people the sense of possibility, of opportunity."

yup

lets help him to become a community organizer again, he admits he can't work with congress and that he didn't try.

Exactly whose side is Obama on??

On Saturday, a Pakistani government minister announced a $100,000 bounty for the killing of an American citizen.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the piece of filth who made that moronic film, is described as an "Egyptian-American Copt". I guess that means he is a US citizen (I truly hope I am wrong about that). If so though, I think that the President has to respond to this foreign threat against a US citizen, and soon. The longer he dithers, the worse it looks for US commitment to our individual liberties.

It's been two and a half days now. What is he waiting for? Is he hoping that if he ignores it long enough, people will just forget? We desperately need a President, like Mitt Romney, who has a clear idea of what this country stands for, and is willing to express it. Romney would never have let this much time go by without responding to a death threat against any US citizen.

He has put us in debt that our great grandchildren will never get out of. He take no person responsibility unless it will make him look good.

The terrorist are preaching the same hate that Obama learned from Rev. Wright and now Obama Promotes that same hate for America and Americans.

This guy must go. American's are getting killed around the world and he is on the view saying it's not terrorist. He calls it a few bumps in the road.

How many more American's will be killed before Obama is gone.

    Vote Romney/Ryan 2012.

Certainly Obamamamama didn't call the terrorist attacks (TERRORISM) because he was brought up in the Muslim faith where beheadings are common. Drawing and quartering our troops and dragging the corpses through the streets is something that just happens over there. Folks, we're in deep stuff and if this clown gets reelected we can kiss our butts goodbye.

You know Obama is in desperation mode and you can bet on it that his finger is still on the button and that Iran is still an option before the election. He will do anything. Even if it's putting American's at danger. It means nothing to Obama.

Obama lied again on Letterman when he said he didn't know what the debt was when he came in.

Obama America isn't that stupid. You know and we know.

Letterman knew it was 10 trillion and now after 4 years 16 trillion.

When Obama's lips are moving he's lying.

Updated polling averages from Real Clear Politics as of today, Monday:

Obama's lead widening in Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Florida, Iowa, and Colorado.

Swing states are swinging Left, because Right is just plain wrong.

Don't Romney and Ryan have some kind of connection to Michigan and Wisconsin?

Apparently the Obama Propaganda Machine has swayed a majority of the US electorate. It's a shame they are so gullible, but it doesn't change the basic truth: Obama can't run on his record, he can't run on his lies and empty promises. So how can he run? Attack, attack, attack ... That's all he has left. Sadly, that approach seems to be working for him.

Speaking of polls, the NBC Politics lead page on Friday had an interesting analysis: “A look at the candidates through social media” It shows that users of Facebook and Twitter intend to vote for Romney over Obama 36% to 32%, and express mostly negative feelings about Obama and mostly positive feelings about Romney.

All polls are skewed by the group of people they choose to sample from, of course, but I would think that these would be a relatively young bunch. What would make them so much more favorable to Romney?

The majority of likely voters in 32 of 50 states don't appear to care much what people like you think.

THAT'S why the lead is widening.

Romney only feels at ease around his own kind, you know millionaires that live in Boca and attend 50k plate dinner, then the truth comes out, 47% of the country are just moochers, that won't stand up and take responsibility for their lives. Texas is likely to become a Blue state as early as 2024, just about the time that Hillary closes out her second term.

Taken together with California, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, 270 electoral votes would be an additional two or three states away......Massachussetts, Vermont, Oregon, Washington or Hawaii anyone?

It took 11 days to get this right and this fool wants 4 more years.

This is just disgusting that he would address this issue on a talk show instead of calling a formal press conference and respecting the lives that were lost in this tragedy.

Just more pandering to the poles during an election instead of leadership...

To disrespect 4 American lives that were lose during an organized assault on sovereign soil of the US Embassy that resulted in the torture rape and murder of our ambassador and three brave Americans who tried to protect him. They deserve more than just a talking point on "The View". Coward and chief you should be ashamed.. This is disgusting. I don't care who you vote for.. This situation was handled all wrong.

Still needing someone else to provide for them instead of feeling like they have any pride left... Then they will be voting republican.. only time will tell..
