Subscribe to RSSLAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A plane carrying Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, was forced to make an emergency landing in Denver Friday after smoke began to fill the plane midflight.
Campaign aides said the plane landed safely at Denver International Airport, and there were no reports of any injuries. An electrical fire was the suspected cause of the smoke.

Mrs. Romney was en route from Omaha, Neb., to Santa Monica, Calif., on a chartered Canadair Challenger 601 when the smoke forced an emergency landing. She spoke with Gov. Romney, who was campaigning in Las Vegas at the time, by phone shortly after landing.
An earlier version of this post referred to the plane Mrs. Romney was on as a regional jet. The Federal Aviation Administration advises it is not considered a regional jet.

Why do they have a Canadian plane? Mitt is supposed to be for America but he promotes outsources which takes away from Americans that need jobs. Anne and Mitt live in a lifestyle that none of us will ever see. Can you imagine Anne down on the ground growing veggies?? I don't think she would. She would use her MS as an excuse. Hers is not life threatening. It has been confirmed but now they are going to use her "horrible" esperience on the plane. Buy American. And keep the jobs in America. You know, I was always taught, that if you cannot say something nice, dont say anything at all. I dont usually adhere to that when it comes to the Republican Party or the offshoot Teaparty. In this situation, I will not type the comment that I would really like to, I would probably be thrown off of this site. I am sure that a lot of you are in the same train of thought.
Actually, I applaud you. One of the most repulsive things about fighting with idiots is having to talk in such a way as to reach them without the ambiguity caused by the vocabulary you'd like to use- but can't if you want them to get it. The only thing I thought is that I'm glad everyone is alright wascigarman. And I'm as proud a Democrat as anyone. It had nothing to do with being punished by the site,it's simply about decorum and,to use a somewhat outdated term,breeding. Two things that people who are on the side of the Limbaugh's,Hannity's and Beck's of the world do not have.
That said whilst I will not wish ill will towards Anne Romney or any of Mitt Romney's family or supporters I think it's our duty to challenge and call them out for their pathetic behavior at every turn. @ LULU - ok your right that is an excessive estate tax and its not ok with me. However, it is far less wrong in my mind than the Romney/Ryan plan to cut seven hundred billion and change from medicare and medicaid and give an almost identical figure in tax cuts to the portion of the country that is already so rich that the only difference they will see is the higher number in their account balance because they could never spend the money they have in a lifetime unless they purchase a hope diamond weekly.

It's good that everyone is OK. On the other hand her husband-Willard Mittens Rmoney's , his ship is sinking at an even mor rapid pace. Fire crews removed a smoldering pair of Paul Ryan's pants from the luggage compartment.
That was the smoke they were transporting to Mitt, so that he could blow more of it up our collective asses.
The cause of the fire was apparently a pair of pants - Liar Liar Pants on Fire is apparently a real thing !

That is scary! I am glad Ms. Romney is safe, and so are all candidates and their families in this tight race. Some of the planes used on these campaign trails tend to be rented out (at a discounted rate), or lent by multi-millionaires (as part of the campaign contribution). This means that many may not be in good condition, or it might not receive the maintenance that it deserves. Some modern planes are better equipped with weather or smoke detection and correction system. Glad the plane landed safely and Ms. Romney (a very nice lady, and Mitt is lucky to have her in his life) is safe. Best wishes to them. And that joke about "Lesson to all Republicans and Democrats, 'Don't leave Nebraska!' " - whoever made it - was funny, but all the other comments are crude, cruel and uncalled for!
I am not a Republican...but I wish the Romney family well and all safety in this race. So too to the Obamas and all other candidates...who are all part of a great democracy.
