President Barack Obama took a fresh swipe at Mitt Romney Thursday over the leaked video that shows the Republican nominee dismissing 47 percent of Americans, saying the comments suggest Romney probably hasn’t “gotten around a lot.”
Obama made the remarks during an interview in Miami with Univision, the Spanish language network, a day after Romney had given an interview to the same network.
On Wednesday, moderator Jorge Ramos asked Romney to clarify what he meant on the tape. “Well, first of all this is a campaign about the 100 percent,” Romney said. “And over the last several years, you’ve seen greater and greater divisiveness in this country. We had hoped to come back together but instead you've seen us pulled apart. And politics has driven us apart in some respects. So, my campaign is about the 100 percent in America.”
While courting Hispanic voters on Univision, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney delivered a new message after saying he stood by his beliefs about the "47 percent." NBC's Chuck Todd reports.
On Thursday, Ramos asked the president: “For you, which is the true Mitt Romney?”
The president seized the opportunity to slam his opponent: “When you express an attitude that half the country considers itself victims that somehow they want to be dependent on government, my thinking is maybe you haven't gotten around a lot.”
The president then argued that he has a better understanding of the country. “I travel around the country all the time and the American people are the hardest-working people there are. And their problem is not that they're not working hard enough or they don't want to work or they're being taxed too little or they just want to loaf around and gather government checks.”
Romney has been playing defense since the liberal magazine Mother Jones publicized remarks that were secretly videotaped at a Florida fundraiser in May. The video shows Romney telling an audience of wealthy donors that he isn’t concerned about getting the support of nearly half the country because they’re already Obama supporters who are dependent on the government and view themselves as victims.
For the most part, Romney has stood by his remarks, arguing that they highlight the difference between his economic views and the president’s. Romney has tried to paint the president as a big-government liberal; he recently pointed to a videotape from 1998 which shows then-state Senator Obama saying he supports a “redistribution” of wealth. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney suggested the Romney campaign was “desperate” for highlighting a 14-year-old video.

Romney's always been dismissive of lower-income Americans. He said before he "wasn't worried about the poor - they have a safety net. If it needs fixing, we'll fix it."
Unfortunately, Romney's idea of fixing the safety net is more akin to making it go away altogether. So his comments in May about 47% 'victims' could be prophetic.
I think it's Romney who is looking for a safety net these days. He just can run from the stupid things he says. His campaign managers need to gag him and throw him into the trunk of one of his wife's Cadillacs. Mitt is his own worst enemy.
Ursula Willard's safety net"wasn't worried about the poor - they have a safety net. If it needs fixing, we'll fix it." It is more like in China where they build safety net around dorm factory buildings to catch jumpers.
Obama/Biden like your life depended on it.
Romney has a skewed view point. He thinks the middle class is $200K and up in income. No wonder he has only contempt for the normal middle class working people that make an average income. To him we are peons that are getting out of line and need to be smacked down.
I am insulted that he thinks only non working people support the President. I have worked and paid into the IRS, social security and medicare for 40 years. I am one of those evil college educated career women as well as a wife and mother. I oppose the Romney/Ryan/Teabagger philosophy. I am a secular humanist so I oppose all efforts to impose Christian Sharia on me.
If that makes me part of Romney's 47% so be it. His 47% is the 99%.
God Bless you President Obama for protecting us Freedom Loving Americans from Domestic Terrorists, Extreme right-wing, crazy-wacko Teabaggers, and the GOP Republican Party.
All Hail Obama!
Ruler, Master, and Overlord of all you crazy-wacko Teabaggers, and hideous-horrific Republicans for the next Four (yes! 4) very long years!
Let's all us Federal employees, Florida Retirees, and Undecided Voters, send Mitt Romney and his GOP Republican Masters,
"Back to the Political Dung Heap of History"
where they all belong, to begin with.
It will be Fun, and it's the Right thing to do.
Vote a straight Democratic ticket come this November 2012.
You'll be Glad you did.
ps. Is this a Great post, or what?
you know even if people forget about this whole thing (which i doubt that anyone will) I am pretty sure Romney will come up with something even dumber and shoot his foot once again.
as long as Romney is allowed to open his mouth without anyone babysitting him Obama will win
i mean how dense can a person be to make it this easy to win an election
I work in banking - specifically mortgage loans. I reviewed a loan today of a single mother who made less than $25,000/year; worked two jobs as a server; had perfect credit; had managed to save a little money; took the standard deduction on her tax return - as well as the deduction for earned income credit and child credit and ended up getting some money back. This woman is obviously one of the 47% that Romney was referring to but I defy any of you Right-Wing haters to call this woman a victim or to accuse her of looking for free food, shelter or other entitlements. She was trying to buy a house. I see situations like this every day. Are there lazy people looking for handouts and is there abuse of the system? You bet, however, everyone that Romney lumped into the 47% box does not deserve his dismissal and his criticism. He can, quite frankly, kiss my Ass.
Obama is right, Free money pls, I refuse to work and pay tax's anymore !
RepublicansforObama: "is this a great post or what?.... it's "or what".
The night shift at Arby's is going to miss you, I'm sure.
Okay, all you GOP supporters. Not one of you has been willing to answer this so far.
Tell me why Ryan's House of Representatives passed this bill?:
Americans should know that one of the few bills the GOP has passed in the House of Representatives eliminates the caps on skilled foreign workers coming into this country.
It is now in the Senate. We need to speak up NOW and put a stop to this garbage! These are American jobs!
117,460 American jobs were given to foreigners here on these H1B visas in 2010. Can you tell me why, with our unemployment rate so high, Americans weren't hired instead? Or why the GOP wants to give MORE jobs away?
From MSNBC:
As well as 60% of American corporations.
And here is the anti-outsourcing bill that the GOP just killed in the Senate (S. 3364). The House version is in committee - call your Congressman!
H.R. 5542: Bring Jobs Home Act
112th Congress, 2011–2012
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to encourage domestic insourcing and discourage foreign outsourcing.
RealAmericansFirst, unreal huh... if it weren't a fact, it would be hard to believe at best. But these Republican Tea-Party wackos are in-your-face with disdain for the ordinary, average American. What is really hard to believe is that many of those people will actually vote for them!
Not so Ursula, he was stating a fact that Obama has been the absolute extreme of the Democrat practice of buying votes with hand outs to keep people dependent on them. Some of us have too much pride to be beholden to anyone much less the government. If others help us, we help them back when we are able, we don't go begging for more and expecting someone to hand it out of what they have simply because they have more than we do. We each earn our own way and help each other when its needed when we can. That is the mind set that built this country. Our great country started going down hill when the politicians started giving people something for nothing. That isn't true of Medicare of Social Security, we were force to accept and pay for those, the hand outs with no cost is the problem. Some households now have 6 - 8 cell phones free with our tax dollars paying for the phone and the minutes. Why? People have lived without them for all of man's history until the last decade or two but suddenly when Democrats need votes, they became a life necessity. That kind of crap, along with welfare without requirements for work, foreign aid and Obama creating jobs in foreign countries and importing foreigners with work visas to take what few jobs are left (guess how many from the middle east) is exactly what we have to stop. Romney has done more for charity in his lifetime than Obama ever thought of doing. Taking money from one to hand out to another for your own personal gain is what Community Organizers do. We don't need that kind of BS.
Looks to me like it's time to fire the "job creators".
Real American First
You really need to either get your facts straight or stop passing out BS. Here is the status of that bill:

Time to throw some losers out on both sides of the aisle before they put STEM visas in place to give what few good jobs there are to foreign college students many of whom got a free education in our University system.
Stop the partisen BS if you really care about AMerican jobs: Diversity Visa program meaning foreigners get visas to take you job here. Sponsered in the house by Lamar Smith and to be proposed in the Senate by Schumer. Stop sniping and pay attention both sides have sell outs.
The GOP-led House likely has the votes to pass the measure. On the Senate side, New York Democrat Charles Schumer, who heads the Senate Judiciary Immigration subcommittee, is expected to introduce his own STEM bill. Like Lofgren's bill, it's expected his bill would preserve the diversity visa program.
RealAMericanFirst
There you go again with the fake truths. It is H1b visas and President Clinton is the one that raised the number of such visas allowed from 80,000 per year to 200,000 per year and the numbers have climbed since. That first wave of H1b's took full advantage of access to our technology information and went back home to start competitive businesses to get our jobs outsourced. Those that stayed here worked their way up because of BS Diversity and once in hiring positions will only hire people from thier own culture. Wake up and stop the BS and learn the facts of what you are talking about.
Shaking my head-2479300
I see you skipped right over that request for an explanation of why your party passed HR 3012 (the "Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act").
Like to give it a shot? Or is there just really no excuse for such crap?
Pretty sad that that was one of only 61 bills they managed to pass this year.
And the Senate version of the Bring Jobs Home Act was S. 3364.
You really need to get YOUR facts straight.
S.3364
Latest Title: Bring Jobs Home Act

Related Bills: H.R.5542, H.R.6152, S.2884
Latest Major Action: 7/19/2012 Senate floor actions. Status: Cloture on the motion to proceed to the measure not invoked in Senate by Yea-Nay Vote. 56 - 42. Record Vote Number: 181.
(This means the GOP blocked the bill by their 60-votes-required cloture blackmail BS. Like everything else we need to get done.)
I see that Shaking my head doesn't want to give us a reason why the House Republicans are spending their time giving away American jobs instead of helping create them
Do we need any better reason to turn them out this November?
To shaking my head. Welfare act- was changed yrs ago. Get it right. Yeah by a Dem not you wackos. It's called welfare to work now. 2yrs on and then off. What hand outs do you talk about. Pleade tell me. I need to know where our Govt. got the money. HA HA yes from us. So no hand out -- just giving our money back. I tell you what Please let the govt. give all I put in back and I'll never ask for anything. At 48 yrs old I'll never collect what I put in to SS. Nor will I ever collect unemployment- why you ask --cause I am self employed. I have to pay in but no able to collect. You don't like our way -- well theres the door . Very easy to leave -just go. Believe me -we shall fill you spot and not miss. It's WE THE PEOPLE or did you not understand. Please read up on our history. If not history may come up to bite you. We need to stand for each other or this country shall fall apart. We are not 1 race but many with a common goal. For a better life.
Let's have a look at Romney's 47% comment in the light of two Americas.
Romney pays 13% of his income in federal income tax, even though the vast majority of his yearly income falls within the 34% tax bracket. He correctly states that, following the US tax laws and using deductions that he is entitled to, he is paying every penny that he is legally obligated to pay. That's fine, one has to agree on strict legal grounds at least.
Now, the thing about that 47% of the population that he loved to quote is that it is 47% of the population, by our current tax laws, and with their yearly income, owe no federal income tax. Again, that is completely legal and in complete accordance with US tax laws. By the same laws that give Romney the tax loopholes that he legally takes advantage of, this 47% legally owe zero in federal income tax. Many of them do owe and pay federal payroll taxes for SSI and Medicaire, which they do pay.
Considering the above reality of two groups following the law, how is it that Romney says of the poor who don't owe tax are freeloaders, leeches, and must feel like victims? Does Romney, taking advantage of the same laws, and making (and sheltering) a huge amount more in income, fell like a victim? Is he a freeloader? Is he calling himself one?
The 47% figure is only about the percentage that don't owe federal income tax at the end of the year. It does not mean they are on welfare, or getting free government health care or rent subsidies. The only fault of these people is they don't make as much money as Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney is immoral to criticize them for following the same laws that he uses to shelter his unearned income. And anyone defending him shares his immorality.
I need to also point out that Romney says of that 47% that they feel "entitled" to handouts from the government, even though that percentage is not about people who receive government benefits. Note, that he uses the same word, entitled, when referring to the tax shelters he uses. Again, I ask, who is the freeloader?
Good Post Jon, Thank You.
Much Love n Peace,
Da Pup
>:o):
It's always amazed me that if 47% can follow the law and owe no income tax, they can be denigrated and trashed by anyone in the other 53% who take advantage of every legal tax break (especailly when it's a Romney, a member of the highest sliver of the priveleged in this country), simply for following the same rules.
Romney is a poster boy for the "greed over all" attitude of the 1980s, and if we want to survive with any semblance of what our forefathers in 1776 meant, we need to reject that greed.
Real, in this country, the job goes to the BEST worker, the most qualified, and the one who does the best job. It's called free-market capitalism and seeking after excellence, not lazily, stupidly hiring someone because he's born here. Americans need to wake the ___— up.
"Gosh, I'd love to bring in more legal immigrants that have skills ... I'd like to staple a green card to every Ph.D. in the world and say, 'Come to America, we want you here,'" he said in the video.
Romney thinks this would be a great solution. Instead of educating our own citizens and fostering advancement for Americans, he wants to import Ph Ds. Instead of letting people born here grow and succeed, he just wants to buy ready made high skill workers. It is a lot of work to get your doctorate, and it takes a long time. His idea is just like every other stupid idea in his head, because he sees through a prism of money. Hey, let's just buy some! We can dangle the promise of coming to America. How many do we need?
His though processes are revealed here. This is the kind of person you can end up with when they sail through life with a fat wad of money in their pocket and never have to earn anything or struggle. You just buy it. Everything is for sale, including the White House and the American people. If they don't sell, you just get more capital. Bring in the billionaires. Everyone has their price.
Sorry, Mitt. My values don't have a red tag on them. Especially in this case. I'm not for sale.
Listen to the whole 47% speach you bunch of F@#%&*G democrate a$$holes. If you listen to the first part of the recording you hear Romney say 47% of the people THAT are going to vote for the president. So if you guys can get you head out of your ass the 47% is not in referance to the American population as whole. So stop pulling out just what you what to hear sound bites.
I don't know what economic classes Romney has taken but when 1/3 of the wealth is held by 1% of the population (and you want to increase that wealth gap) that tends to be a staple of any third world country.
We should strive to have the richest middle class in the world and as an aside the richest poverty class in the world. After all when the middle class and the poor get money they spend it and businesses need customers to buy their products. That's healthy economics. There will always be rich people and people will always prefer to be rich but do we need rich people with enough wealth that they can produce generations and generations of off-spring that never have to work for anything in their lives.
Hey pissed off guy, the 47% Romney talks about and that he states he is clearly talking about is the 47% of people who pay no federal taxes. It's in the tape. He labels these people as Obama supporters but in reality most of the 47% live in red states, who I can only guess vote against their own interests because they are as misinformed as you are.
Pissed, actually you are wrong. Romney is simply stating that he believes that the 47% of the American population that does not pay federal income taxes are freeloaders, lazy and are the bulk of the Obama supporters. His assumption is both ridiculously stupid and flawed to say the least. Even though I am a member of the military, my wife & I end up paying yearly due to not having any children, but many members of the military do not make enough to have to pay federal taxes and will get back all that they input throughout the year. So in essence, Romney is calling the men & women who VOLUNTEER to serve our great nation FREELOADERS and LAZY. I don't know about you Pissed, but it is incredibly rude and callous to make such a charge when you are a coward who ran from the draft by attending "Missionary retreats" abroad to avoid having to serve your nation. Couple that with his classic line regarding whether his sons have or will serve in the military "My sons are serving their nation by helping me to get elected". He is a gigantic POS whose selfish nature and complete disconnect from reality has been exposed and he will ultimately lose his bid to unseat the President. The more gratifying prospect will be that alot of republicans that have staked their political futures to Mitt getting elected have ostracized many Americans along the way will also lose their jobs in Congress. Perhaps with a decent turnover in Congress, we may actually get an opportunity to put people there who genuinely want to help the nation, not just enrich themselves and their corporate masters.
Obama and the Democrats know what they are doing. Example:
Federal Student loans = Economic growth of the government leading to increase in government dependency concluding with an increase in likely Democrats' voter base, forever.
And, the loss of your economic freedom.
Politicians are smiling all the way to the bank, though.
When viewed through the prism of 'wealth redistribution', the Democrats economic view is more easily understood, IMO.
Tax Cut = Politician's cut in pay
Debt = Politician's paycheck that corporations / taxpayers must make good (federal student loans, federal housing loans ... people will be indebted, forever, to politicians).
Economic growth = growth of the government (food stamps helps economic growth).
Tax Increase = Politician's increase in pay.
Job Creation = Decrease in Democrats' voter base.
Lower Class = Democrats' likely voter base ... the bigger the better in Democrats' eyes.
Romney's comments were and are all about an increasingly growing segment of society that thinks they're entitled to all kinds of free stuff and are comfortable with being taken care of by a large and overbearing government.
This truth is what Obama seeks to mock because it is he that shares the same large and overbearing government vision as the freeloader segment of society, except that he's the one in charge.
Even a SNL skit mocks Romney over his comments, the progressive strategy being; if it's the truth and can't be refuted, mock it, society's idiots will never know the difference.
Republicons use bigotry and fear tactics through their corporate media bullhorns to get ignorant masses to support them.
They pander to the religious right on all of the hot-button topics to get out their vote, but there is nothing truly religious about those who "took over the party" except perhaps their worshiping at the altar of greed and power.
Thing is...the conservative brain is easy pickin's for the corporatist propaganda methods. They're wired to see the negative, fear change, avoid the unknown. They look for problems rather than solutions. I don't think they can help it. They're born that way.
So, they've always been here. The difference now is the far more prevalent corporatist influence of negativity, hate and fear on the fragile conservative brain than ever before due to corporate TV, political talk radio.
That 47% is about people who, following the same rules that Romney follows, owe no federal income tax because their income is too low. It has nothing to do with government handouts of any kind, hence they are no in any way expecting "entitlements" from government. Those of you who, like Romney, are trying to make that false equation are simply being immoral as well as completely idiotic. If you want to talk about people who receive federal assistance, use numbers of the people on federal assistance, not numbers of people whose income is too low to pay federal income tax according to the current income tax laws that allow Romney, who makes more money each day of the year than these people do in two years.
Also, Romney mistakenly says these 47% will not vote for him. That is wrong, these people are seniors on SSI and working poor, who overwhelmingly live in the south and are Romney supporters. When one makes these kinds of false equivalencies, one is bound to lose the debate and reveal oneself to be an imbecile.
Ursala, (loved that name since George of the Jungle) your comment about 'taking away the safety net' made me laugh because I recalled an old 'Bugs Bunny' where Bruno the bear volunteered to leap from high up onto a block of cement on his head (yet). I don't think our seniors envisioned their safety net to look like a block of cement when they got old. Not really funny is it.
Fortunately, I'm currently not among the 47% Mitt pissed on - but that sure as hell doesn't mean I'm going to vote for him, oh no no. Just because he promises to "wobble it around"? Trickle down from Mitt - I say that's no way to run a RailRoad!
I think Romney is making a glowing impression on Latinos with his new spray tan. He also won't give any specifics on how he'll run the country if elected. Has he been chosen by God to be president? Is that why?
Yeah, I didn't want to ask - but what's with the make-up? Horrible. Is it Halloween already?
Romney will never ever give specifics. He doesn't have any.
Isn't it funny how Mitt is using the 100% stuff? You know he stole that from President Obama, who said the same thing the night he was elected. Which we all made a point to point out.
And now he's stolen it. haha
this guy can change on you at the drop of a Penny;cause he's not worth his swiss bank account.now he is 4 100% instead of 47% of people; he's no Obama that has shown what he stands 4.Romney is 4 the rich, now all house&senate Candide's are running away from him; they know they'er the same. he tried 2 use wife Ann 2win over women when she's the one 2 start the "You people" phrase.we know their kind and they think we wan something4nothing.
Do we have to guess what the most popular Halloween mask will be this year?
Ahhh! ROMBOT!
Yeah, Pat - it's like the ones plagiarizing "End of an error".
Back in 2008, it was funny - since that's how Bush said "error".
Not an original thought in the bunch!
It is simple. The other night, the Commander-in-Chief said the President has to work for all the people. Romney knows his boss is right, and he is following his lead.
The spray tan is just the first step. The afro is next.
Sam drucker says: " Mit Romney has at least provided jobs for 10's of thousands of them. "
Yeah, the trouble is with his outsourcing, those jobs were created in China.
ROMNEY USES COAL MINERS IN AD – ATTENDANCE AT EVENT WAS MANDATORY AND UNPAID
Hey Romney, is this the 100% you're talking about? Seems like whenever the real workers in this country and Romney meet up, it's bad. For Romney. Always bad.
DailyKos:
Romney ad features miners forced to lose pay during mandatory attendance at Romney event
Mitt Romney must have really liked his campaign event using coal miners as a backdrop after their employer, Murray Energy, made attendance mandatory and unpaid, though they lost paid work time to attend. Romney liked it so much, in fact, that his new ad attacking President Barack Obama for supposedly being anti-coal uses images of Romney standing in front of those miners as they lose pay to be forced to listen to him.
*************
And Romney, when you talk about divisiveness, you're talking about you and Boehner and McConnell and Cantor, etc.
You're lying. You always lie. And you exploit hard working Americans.
Of course Obummers taking another stab at Romney. You don't think he is gonna campaign on his own record, do you?
HYSTERICAL, not a chance
Hey oner,
Have you not been paying attention?
onermailliw - oh darlin - you've got nothing in Romney. Even the Republican party is running from him now. He's become just a distasteful joke.
Watched Joe Scarborough lask night on Leno. He just shook his head when asked about Romney - and the Republican party as a whole. Said they are unrecognizable and he wouldn't even be able to run as a Republican today - not far right enough.
Accept the facts - the Republican party is long gone and has been replaced by a group so radical no one of any intelligence or integrity can align themselves with this group. And Romney? He's just a bad joke - getting worse each day!
Obama/Biden 2012
Do you have short term memory problems? Why wouldn't you take a stab at him? What planet are you from? Have you ever seen politics before?
Hahahaha! Well, here's the problem... Romney will run on his record of what he has said! Pretty bad!
As for Obama's record:
...the numbers for Bush's last three months. Between October and November, 597,000 jobs were lost; between November and December, 681,000 were lost; and between December and January, 741,000 were lost.
April 2012 marks the 26th straight month of gains in private-sector employment, for a total of 4.2 million private-sector jobs.
DJIA Dec 26, 2008 8515
DJIA Sep 20, 2012 13596
Dec 29, 2008 (Bloomberg) U.S. corporate earnings fell for a sixth-straight quarter, the longest streak in at least 20 years, as consumer spending on automobiles, homes and retailers collapsed.
May 11, 2012 Fortune magazine released its ranking of the 500 biggest US corporations Monday, which showed that they received a record-breaking $824 billion in combined profits in 2011, up 16 percent from 2010.
Now, tell me, why shouldn't he run on that record?
well heck, if I were the President I wouldn't worry about it either... just sit back, make a few jokes and smart assed comments while Mittsy beats himself, every time he opens his stupid mouth. All the polls have Obama leading, even the most conservative Rassmussen had him up 2+. We won't even bring up the projected Electoral College votes. hahahahaha!
..."Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R-PA), told KDKA Radio Wednesday morning that his law will only disenfranchise “lazy” people, like the ones Mitt Romney was talking about.... When asked about the voter ID law’s disenfranchisement of the 750,000 Pennsylvanians who cannot get IDs, Metcalfe cited Romney’s offhand dismissal of the 47% of the country who will never “take personal responsibility and care for their lives” as proof that those people don’t deserve the right to vote".... CBS Pittsburg has story, plus others.
The GOP will try another tact - try to bar voters.

Wow,hope he's up for election soon.Maybe the DOJ should into this as a violation of the voting rights act.
Has Romney ever held a position he hasn't changed 180 degrees?
BRAD...................................NO !
Brad: How many times.
You just don't see the genius of this. If you flip 180 on an issue, then flip another 180 on an issue, you're back where you started. Now you can pander, which is a nice word for a$$ kiss, flip, pander some more, flip back, claim you never changed!
Seriously, Romney will say whatever it takes to be elected. He was pro-global warming when answering a science questionnaire, then tells the base he doesn't believe it. Two positions at the same time.
Yes. He has always maintained that he is a Severely Moderate Conservative.
I'm all for a candidate that is flexible in his/her views as new evidence comes to light, but not a well oiled weather vane (and pander machine) that follows the political wind day after day.
Sorry Romney, it's not going to happen.
Might be a good idea for Obama to quit harping about Romney's 47% remark and tell us what he plans to do in his 2d term if he is lucky enough to win again. Maybe Obama should explain to the American people why the U.S. was so unprepared for what happened in Libya to our Ambassador and other Americans. Why did it take so long to final admit what happened was in fact a TERRORIST ATTACK and not a spontaneous riot?
When is Obama going to try and run on his foreign and domestic policies, could it be because he has none, except "I killed OBL", and supported the Muslim Brotherhood take over in Egypt. Oh yea, I helped overthrow Qaddafi and the Libyans repaid us by killing our Ambassador and 3 other Americans while sacking and burning our Consulate.
sfcret, I can see you are an expert on Foreign Affairs, that is perhaps based on watching the news for 15 minuets and forming a policy based on a 3 port cruise ship experience. Can you find Libya on a map, or see it from your porch?
Milo9 - Nice response which shows your stupidity. Now if you want to say something intelligent to add to the conversation please feel free to do so, if not STFU, you are wasting space.
BTW, I forgot more about foreign affairs than you will ever know. Now big shot tell me why Obama didn't know this was a TERRORIST ATTACK but his intelligence people did? Maybe Obama should read some of his intelligence memos instead of campaigning and fund raising all over the country.
Obama took the time to get all the facts, and to talk to his political advisors before addressing the issue to not only America but other interested foreign intrest groups.
Much better action to take, rather then Mitt's approach of shooting first and aiming later.. While getting all the facts wrong, making a serious matter into political fodder.. As well as flinging a message to the foreigners who were rebeling a message of "Our freedom of speech is much more important than your religious beliefs.."
Both may have said the acts will not be tolerated. But the President highlighted our country as being one of religious tolerance. Your canidate only said "To hell with you, we will do what we want when we want to"..
Maybe taking time to put out a well informed, well thought out message is well worth the wait.
sfcret,
If you support Romney, you have forgotten a WHOLE LOT MORE than just foreign policy....
Apparently, you have forgotten what a decent human being thinks and talks like when speaking about his fellow Americans.
Moosetracker - You mean the Commander-in-Chief never took time to get the facts as he was to busy campaigning and going to fund raisers. Why did our intelligence agency testify before Congress that this was a terrorist attack which the WH was still debating if it was or wasn't. Even the leader of Libya said it was a planned terrorist attack, yet Obama says will lets see what the FBI says. Obama does not want to admit that these terrorist attacks are taking place on his watch after saying we have gained so much respect from foreign countries since he became President.
Now Obama and Hillary are spending 60 thousand taxpayer dollars to run an apology on Pakistani TV, and still blaming a 14 minute video that has been on line for over 4 months.
Randy - Since you are apparently an Obama supporter and you must think you are some kind of polite policeman, maybe you can answer the question of why Obama didn't admit this was a terrorist attack and why the Libyan government knew it and our intelligence community knew it, so why didn't Obama?
Just as soon as Romney details his plan! I suspect this will all come out in the debates. Given Romney's penchant for putting his foot in his mouth, how do you think that will turn out for him?
Hahahahahahahaha!
Moosetracker posted:" Obama took the time to get all the facts, and to talk to his political advisors before addressing the issue to not only America but other interested foreign intrest groups." Maybe he should have talked to his intelligence people instead of his political advisers. But then he was more worried about what might happen to his campaign when the truth came out.
Obama what a joke. Hahahahahahaha!
Did it ever occur to some of you lame brains that their were in fact two separate incidents that occurred at the same time?
There was an attack planned by one group who came prepared with grenade launchers and automatic rifles, simultaneous reactions to a video posted that was extremely inflammatory occurred at the same time. It was a convenient cover for the planned attack. I would not put it past Karl Rove to be behind the financing of the video. Puzzle pieces fit for me.
As far as I am concerned, President Obama has every right and should run on his record. It would summarize something like: Undaunted by treasonous efforts to derail constructive legislation, President Obama has led unflinching efforts to stop the free fall of our economy brought about by avaricious and greedy organizations seeking to disrupt government, sabotage the peace and profit egregious and copious dollars which they hide away in the Cayman Islands and in Swiss bank accounts. He has stopped the catastrophic job loss and now struggles valiantly to right these terrible wrongs wrought by traitors in our own government as he aids the job creators with incentive, hope and the promise of returning to a time where the people can once again prosper. He has promoted food aid to those who are starving due to job loss and outsourcing by some of those same traitors who would rather profit from dividends paid them by their foreign corporate cronies than promote productivity in our own nation. He stands behind the efforts to give our people hope and a future where education is key to developing the skills we will need to return to our status as a global leader.
I could go on and on but the gist of the message is that President Obama stands with this nation, not his Swiss bankers. Romney thinks no price is too high to pay for his success, not the lives of our citizens, not the welfare of our senior citizens, and not the responsibility of our soldiers of whom many gave their all.
Supporting Romney makes you an American Traitor and I see you as a domestic terrorist threat to the stability and future of this great nation.
Obama/Biden 2012
" Give em' HELL Barry" Send that Rommunist back to Mass. where he belongs. He doesn't have a clue on how to get this nation back on it's feet. President Obama has done a hellof a job without the Republican'ts and things are improving slowly but surely. That is except for Rmoney and his Rommunist followers. They will be disappointed come election night when ole Willard has to concede the election. We will continue the recovery when # 44 gets 4 more more. See You later Wiilard ,it will sure be hard to see you fail [like hell it will] and you can take Lyin' Ryan with you and don't let the door hit you in the ass........
I don't think they want him back.
Last I heard Obama had a 20% lead on Romney in MA.. They were not impressed with his Governing style at all.. The polls prove they don't want him.
I think Romney may need to find a new home down South. Maybe Texas or Kansas will take him.
NOOOOOO!! We don't want Romney's stupid ass here in Texas. We already have George W. Bush and Rick Perry. We're up to our quota of idiots!!
Send Romney's dumb ass back to France or Mexico, maybe to the Cayman islands, where his money is hiding from the tax man.
We don't want Romney in Kansas either. But I know he would be a perfect fit with the Teabagger governor Sam Brownback that we have now. What a disgrace!
being a Texan... I soooo agree with Randy on that one!
Maybe we can get Romney to self-deport.
RealAmericansFirst... I dunno about that but I bet we can sure watch him self-destruct!
oh which reminds me... today I saw a most hilarious cartoon, wish I could post it here. Rep. Todd Akin (legitimate rape dufuss) calls up Mitt Romney and asks him to resign! lmao Pretty much surmises the GOP at this time!
Romney already bought a mansion in La Jolla, in San Diego. After losing the 2012 bid, he'll then try to run for governor of CA. I won't vote for him then, either.
Please don't send him to Arizona either. We already have Jan (death panel) Brewer, and sheriff(let e'm wear pink).
Thank You,
Much Love n Peace,
Da Pup
>:o):
The Great State of Georgia politely declines to be Rmoney's seventh home state.
Finally, this Repubican "Candidate" has shown, to his own "kind", behind closed doors, how he really feels about anybody that's not rich, and now that his true felings have been shoew to the public, he's trying to etch-his-sketch by saying "It's really about the 100% percent" Right, Mittens, keep swishing that etc-a-sketch, dude, try again...
He should stick to being a CEO, he has NO CLUE what being the President is all about... Anybody that votes for this guy really needs to have their head examined. Hopefully, he's lost 47% of the republican voters that are in the very same 47% he was talking about.
well, he may need to stick to being a CEO but not of a real company that provides jobs to Americans. As the CEO of Bain he never hired, only fired, sucking the company dry and then outsourcing jobs. He doesn't have any idea how to run a legit company let alone the US. Down with King Romney and Queen Annie
katinseatt: your comments indicate your lack of knowledge of venture capital.
katinseatt
Buying companies IS hiring them to do work for HIM.
79% of the businesses Romney bought are still going, profitable, and have at least as many employees today as when he invested in them. MOST have more employees. To have more employees means that they have to hire more than they fire. Get "it"!
yeah sure that's your words juanita, and based on them I'm thinking your knowledge is pretty zilch, whereas talking about Mitt Romney's idea of "venture capital", so do yourself a big favor and try reading yourself:
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/greed-and-debt-the-true-story-of-mitt-romney-and-bain-capital-20120829
oh, by the way... it's written by an award winning, investigative journalist Matt Taibbi. Step away from the Faux News channel DB Akron, you are just spreading their lies for 'em. They're using you simpleton
In the latest episode of the film chronicling Wrongme's illustrious vulture capital career, he goes after the biggest fish of all - The United States of America. He didn't have enough money of his own, so he assembles the biggest Vulture Capital backers ever, in a hostile takeover of the White House. He's got the money. He has the spray tan. He has the Latino jokes. His lawn is neatly mowed. His bosses are ready to install him as CEO. Ready for your close up?
Aw, crap. He tried to go off script. 47%?? What the hell?? Cut, cut!!!!
I doubt even the most extreme right will pretend Romney's goal at anytime was more than to make the most money while paying the least. Rpmney's greatest success is Staples a company with non management starting wages of $8.15 an hour with few benefits comparable to Walmart and McDonalds.
One of Bains "failures" was KB toys. They acquired it putting up 18 million and bringing in investors for the rest. After acquiring it they borrowed the maximum they could on KB's assets 65 million and paid the entire amount as a special dividend solely to the Bain partners netting an instant 47 million profit. After the minimum time they could file bankruptcy without having the special dividend clawed back by the judge they filed bankruptcy citing excessive debt as the cause. 3700+ lost jobs and benefits owed by KB. KB's suppliers and the other investors lost most of what they were owed.
One of Bains "successes" was Burger King. Did their firing 1000's of employee's and looting 100's of millions benefit the company or just themselves. Read the following article and decide.
I am so disgusted with this guy, coal miners in an ad...that's because he wants to keep the coal industry afloat rather than invest in alternate forms of energy. The heck with the planet. He has not held one firm stance on anything since he began his whole campaign. The most incredulous thing I've seen is that he is standing by what was captured on video to contrast the differences in his campaign and the Presidents and to top it off is now taking credit for the MA health care likening it to Obamacare which he had 'no comment' about 2 months ago. WOW
Witches
Romney's policy is an all of the above, not one of picking winners and losers. The appropriate winners will rise to the top. Government should keep it's role to grants for research and tax credits to those who promote alternate forms. Investing needs to be left to venture capitalists.
How could DB Akron possibly know Romney's policies when Romney himself doesn't know them? It's all a secret. He has only come out and made vague promises because when he gets specific and says stuff like this:
"I will preserve and protect a woman's right to choose, and I am devoted and dedicated to honoring my word in that regard."
– Televised debate while running for Massachusetts Governor in 2002.
it comes back to haunt him. Do you see how valuable his word is? It is worthless. That's how much devotion and dedication this guy has. Not just a political stance. He is promising to keep a core value, and he didn't. He never will know what convictions are. (unless he releases his tax forms and forgot his white out)
Luckily the 1% don't own 99% of the votes!
The 1% own about 45% of the votes. They spend insane amounts of money to brainwash the average American into believing the GoP are for the middle class. Look at the "trickle-down economy" propaganda they started in the early 80s. What a joke.
Katonix - I am not for sale at any price, nor are my values. Let them spend. Think of it as a stimulus program administered by idiots.
They are pumping millions into the economy. This is wonderful! That huge mountain of money turns out to be worthless. It is very ironic, and a good moral lesson for us all. Money doesn't buy happiness, integrity, love, faith, the White House, or the American people.
Epic fail.
Finally, we get to see what this guy is really thinking. And now that he's been "outed", he's trying to etch-his-sketch by saying "It's really about the one 100%" WTF? Come on, Mittens, shake that etch-a-sketch again, buddy, that line doesn't work... Maybe now 47% of the republicans in that very same group he was deriding will decide to stay home and not vote for him... Anybody that votes for this guy seriously needs to stop drinking that kool aid and have their head examined... No wonder the Repubs are here in force trying to spread their wingnut mantra, they're freakin'n out because their guy is imploding!! LOL
This guy's a real joke. He has NO CLUE what being president is all about. Here's some advice, Mittey, go back to Bain, move your a** to the Caymans, and keep an eye on your money, ok buddy? Leave the Presidency to Obama, he's doing a damn good job considering how badly the Repubs have been stonewalling him on everything. "Fuggetaboutit"
Romney is for 100% of Mormons and 100% of Country Club members from Wall Street and Texas Oil.
Nah, he's lost 47% of the Mormon vote as well. He doesn't even have 100% of the Country Club vote, a few of them are smart enough to realize that Mitt's economic policies are warmed-over Bush Jr. economic policies, and they're bad for the US economy. A short term boost in their after-tax pay can't fully compensate for the long-term losses in the economy.
Seeing his fellow republicans turning on him, and even Pawlenty jumping ship (his campaign co-chairman!) at a critical time in his campaign tells me that they all are experiencing buyer's remorse.
That video will be remembered as the turning point where it was all downhill from there, much like his father's campaign was killed when George Romney came back from Vietnam and said, "I'd just had the greatest brainwashing that anybody can get."
Then, just like Mitt, Romney completely switched positions on the war. Instead of his earlier stated belief that the war was "morally right and necessary", he then said, "I no longer believe that it was necessary for us to get involved in South Vietnam to stop Communist aggression in Southeast Asia,".
Even the wording is revelatory. First it is necessary, then it is not necessary. Mitt first said London was not prepared, then he said they are 100% prepared.
Let's play Romney: "This guy is not ridiculous." "This guy is ridiculous." You tell me which position I am take.
The president doesn't have to say a word about Thurston Howell III Romney, that silver foot in Romneys mouth is non retractable of late.
Romney never knew an American job he couldn't outsource.
Not quite, he couldn't figure out how to offshore retail jobs. That's one reason why Staples managed to survive being Bained, while so many other companies were Bained into bankruptcy.
Right, same with Burger King. I won't eat there anymore. I'm boycotting all of Bain's acquisitions.
I already was boycotting Clear Channel (home of the Rush, Hannity, and O'Reilly shows - not surprisingly owned by BAIN CAPITAL) because they only broadcast stupidity.
If Romney was Obama, he would turn white.
Republicans find democracy and the Constitution a nuisance. The Party is the thing. Germany, Italy, and Russia revisited.
Now that's not entirely true. Republicans remember the constitution when their guns are threatened. Not so much on other issues.
President Obama is a President with respect in full for all citizens, and he represents all citizens with pride. The President is a fighter for the Middle Class, the Working Poor, the elderly, and the disabled. President Obama is honest with himself, and he will always be honest with all citizens. The President is a very intellectual individual that was handed the worse economy since 1929. He has had to deal with the GOP/RNC "Hoodlum's On The Hill" that said NO to every bill the Presient has presented. The President has had to deal with the "Treasonous" statement of "Mickey Mouse Mitch McConnell." The only goal of the GOP/RNC is to destroy an American President at all costs. President Obama has had to deal with the "Bonehead Birther's" lead by "Trampy Trump" the "Chump On The Stump." President Obama has been unfairly attacked as a terrorist, and as not a Christian. By ignorant and paranoid "Tea Beggers." The President knows it is time to debate and politically destroy the "Traitor" known as the GOP/RNC "Speculator and Chief."
Obama looks after himself and himself only. History will be written and the person with the bigest smile in America these days is Jimmy Carter. (He knows that he is no longer considered the most inept). Hide and watch.
backlund,
Obviously you haven't read history or know anything but YOUR OPINION. Jimmy Carter has never been considered the most inept President and he is considered up there with Lincoln and Washington when it comes to honesty. Actually he is seen as more competent than several other Presidents. Those would include James Buchanan, Franklin Pierce, U S Grant, William H. Harrison, Zachary Taylor, Andrew Johnson and the worst of them all George W. Bush. The trouble with Bush is that, not only was he incompetent but corrupt as well. The others were less corrupt or not corrupt at all.
Progressive, Obama is always honest with us? Don't make me laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine those lazy, disabled veterans having the audacity to want a government handout! Those worthless leeches need to get a job says Romney. No legs or arms is a pathetic excuse! But yes I always support the military says Mitt, like i did during the Vietnam war which I spent in Socialist France in a villa with my staff. Boy the caviar and escargot were smashing!
I agree with you, except the part of "socialist France". So what if they have socialized medicine and one of the best health care systems in the world?
Do we have to knock every single country that doesn't tow the line with us? Give me a break. I have lived in France and I never thought that I was living in a "socialist" system.
Yes, I never understood the hate for France, but it is ironic that Mitt ducked the war there with 4 successive religious deferments until he had no more. By then, he was out of harm's way, as the draft was winding down. His number in the draft was over 300. My number that year was 18. They were taking up to 125 or so. I didn't even think about draft dodging, but Mitt the Chicken Hawk did!
We are the last major developed country to not have comprehensive medical care. How is it that our health care costs are astronomical compared to Canada, France, England, Germany, and every other country in the world?
Plus, if you remember your history, France came to our aid in the war of 1812, and our young country almost got taken back by King George. (no, not idiot boy)
Mitt Romney: too bad i wasn't born Mexican , I could deport myself and end this nightmare!
Mitt will be now using the dancing horse at his fund raisers to get more donations. ANN will do some pole and lap dancing too!
Thanks for the visual. I think you just cured my heterosexuality.
Since I am part of the 47% of the country that don't pay taxes, I don't work because I expect the government to support me.
I receive welfare checks and food stamps because it would be really taxing for me to leave my poolside and get a job, knowing that Mitt &Co. work hard to pay for my free medical care, my free lunches and my acting lessons to play my victim role more convincingly.
I hope that the corner restaurant that provides me with my free lunches, and they deliver, won't scratch my new Volvo in the driveway. You see, since I have never paid taxes I have money to change my car every two years. What a life!! Thank you Mitt, and the rest of the hard working people who make my life so easy!
Don't thank Mitt. Thank me. Mitt doesn't pay taxes. Why do you think he doesn't want to share his tax returns. No other reason than that he doesn't want the 47% to discover he's one of them.
And Ras, Ras... you are either a 15 year old boy living in mummy and daddy's basement, a shill for the Kochs or one of the dumbest humans to ever walk the earth.
If you'd actually ever tried to live on government assistance you would realize that many months there isn't enough to even pay the electric bill. But carry on with your delusion. It doesn't seem like your hurting anyone but yourself.
I think Ras was playing devil's advocate there in a sarcastic manner.
Point is, very few people work the system like Romney claims, and public assistance sure is not a smooth ride.
I found myself unemployed back in the good ol' days under Reagan (17% unemployment in Northern California). I wasn't eligible for anything but food stamps, and I had some beans, and a couple of cans of vegetables to my name. I applied, and got about $50 a month. It kept me going until I got a job. It was embarrassing buying food with the stamps. I tried to find a checkout counter with nobody in line so I wouldn't be seen. I was on assistance less than a year, and I found a job and no longer needed it. That's how the system is supposed to work. Romney and Ann will never know how we live.
Since then, I have been paying the system back. 45 straight years of paying FICA, SSI, federal, state and local taxes. I am one of the 47%, and I know Romney is Wrong. The system works.
Obama/Biden 2012 - Romney/Ryan 1040
Rasputin: The problem with the 47% number is that only about 17% of the population receives any government aid. To include the 30% who pay no taxes but receive nothing back from the government alienates a huge number of people including many that might have supported him. The fact that he and people like you continue to use the 47% number means neither is intelligent enough to change the claim. Four more years.
Given the current economic situation and world affairs, history shows that Obama can't win this time around. In the privacy of the ballot box, Americans seem to always get it right. The polarization of the electorate, just as in 2008, will spell doom for the incumbent. Just ask George Bush. The key independents, will oust the party in power due to the tendency of their being very critical of the current situation and holding the president to a higher standard than he is accustomed.
What a shame.
Welp, if you are correct we'd better really hunker down because it's going to be a horrible 10 years. I say 10 because it will probably take 6 to repair the damage from Mitt's 4.
We're still trying to fix Shurb's 8. Maybe this time they can completely blow out the world economy and hit a reset button. We'll start again herding sheep and growing gardens on land owned by the 1% or perhaps we can each work for a Chinese overlord.
Republicans don't have a very good track record my friend. The country has suffered mightily under them for the last 30 years. If Romney and Ryan are elected it may spell the end for the good ole, USA.
You get the government you deserve.
Idiocracy 2012
" Americans Always seem to get it right." Not really. Remember George W. Bush?
They will get it right this time, though. Obama will serve a second term. Your guy, who was born with a silver foot in his mouth will continue to help the President win another term.... Keep talking, Willard!
bbacklund is another dreamer republican, probably a tea-bagger. I say thank God if there really is one, because these lunatic republicans really know how to pick 'em. If the base weren't about the same intellect as their candidates, we might just be in trouble. But have no fear, they've gone completely over the cliff of the land of common sense.
Republicans like to jump on Obama's comment 14 years ago that some redistribution was needed but ignore every president whether republican or democrat agrees. The government handouts to rich gentlemen farmers paid not to grow crops is as much redistribution as food stamps and are available to the wealthy whether they pay taxes or not.
"Romney probably hasn’t “gotten around a lot.” He could get around some more if he had the free use of Watermelon One like Osama al-Barack bin-Hussein ebiz-Obama Mohammad and the first cow, Cheta do travelling around the world on the taxpayer and pissing away millions.
You are a disgusting pig.
His kkk hood is showing is all
DrBob, you could be the poster child for the racist, hate-filled, hollow sounding fakes the wingnuts have made of the once-respectable republican party. Got a pic of yourself you care to share with us?
First comment on this post in support of Romney And the trolls jump on it like hungry vermin... Just look at the vitriol from Larry Moe and Curly above... Excellent example of liberal toadies piling on the insults with no mention of the issues... pathetic fkng losers... ALL!
DrBob,
You are a disgusting individual. You really DO represent the teabagger/republican't party. Your bigotry is prevalent throughout the repub. party, and that is exactly why you Idiots won't win this election....
Same goes for Tony D. Clueless....
See what I mean....Randy A-whole just proved my point. Talk about clueless, disgusting, traitorous, elitist snobs with a communist ax to grind.... whew!
Oh, that's funny! I don't need to read the rest of your post!
congratualations Bob the racist! You just got reported at least once and probably much more that that remark. Enjoy your vacation! Oh and Tony you too... maybe you two losers can go fishing and drinking together. Don't fall outta your boat. The kinda people you guys are, neither one of you would try to save the other!
These two losers are typical of the paid trolls the Koch Brothers are employing to spam the forums. Another treacherous attempt to portray our President in a bad light. They really want this takeover to succeed. Romney has an agreement with them. He signs whatever they put in front of them if they get him installed as CEO. Sorry, boys, it won't work.
"We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don’t need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate. Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become President of the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing the work with the president signing bills."
- Grover Norquist, one of Romney's three bosses.
Yes, the republican party has changed. Nixon, Goldwater, Eisenhower all would not recognize it. The teabaggers have completely replaced it with religious fanatics that can't do math.
Did not G.W. Bush do the same thing. During Katrina at that
Dr. Bob:Your comments show your reasons for hating Obama and it's merely because he isn't white. There's little reason for further comments from you when clearly any president who isn't white no matter how well he did would get no better from you. For the republicans who are offended when anyone suggests their hatred of Obama has anything to do with race I'd suggest you note how many obviously racist comments are made by republicans on these blogs.
We all know that Obama can't run on a platform of what he has done in the last four years--other then being on the Letterman show! When he was elected, Pres. Obama said that anyone that runs for president and does not have any success in his last four years will only will try to discredit his opponent by running a negative campaign----open your eyes--this is what he is doing.......He said that if he doesn't lower the dept by 50%---have unemployment under 5% he will be a one term President. I loved the great and respect actor, Clint Eastwood who stated the plain and simple truth---"If someone is not doing their job. you just have to let them go."
I love how you teapugs love the constitution but fail to recognize all domestic power resides in Congress and with the Party of No nothing gets done.
Imagine if Obama lowered unemployment to 6%. He would be hailed as one of the greatest Presidents. But if he is hailed as one of the greats you lose.
You thought 180+ and counting filibusters the highest total in US History was a coincidence?o
I need a paxil: gee, I guess we'll just have to "imagine" if Obama lowered unemployment to 6%...because with the policies that he has put into place, it's not going to happen with him in charge. Keep dreaming though if it makes you feel better.
Not to mention that the Republicans just KILLED a bill to put Military veterans to work in Police, Fire and EMS jobs. But they're about JOBS-JOBS-JOBS, right? Seems to me they're about making sure nobody HAS a job so that they can claim that Obama is a failure ... when THEY have been on record as being against jobs bills or loading them up with so much PORK that there's no WAY the bills can pass.
Oh, and the BI-PARTISAN deal to raise the debt ceiling (which the Republicans could have AVOIDED by BENDING A LITTLE instead of insisting on 100% of whatever THEY wanted) which has us facing BROKERED CUTS on January 1st is also being laid at Obama's door? When the REPUBLICANS refuse to COMPROMISE ONE TINY BIT? PUH-LEASE!
So let me get this straight, Richard... If, according to your post, ---"someone is not doing their job, you just have to let them go."
Then we should fire Boner and the rest of his tea bagger congress, right? After all, what job have they done to help this president fix the economy? Oh yeah! Filibuster, Obstruct, Block jobs legislation, f@#k up our credit rating, to name a few, just in the hopes of "making Obama a one term president", right? Who cares if the country suffers as a result of their actions? These republican morons had the gaul to sign a stupid pledge to Grover Norquist, instead of honoring their oath of office. Lets see... that sounds like - Oh yeah, TREASON!!!
Considering the s#*t sandwich Srhub handed Obama when he left office, and how much obstruction he has gotten from the party of NO, it's amazing how much he actually has accomplished... Not only do we need to re-elect Obama, we need to FIRE those tea bagger freshman representatives and replace them with independents who will vote for their country's benefit instead of backwards party idealogy! And Juanita, I just bet you that if these tea baggers had decided to work with the president instead of againt him, the unemployment rate would be below 7% OOHH "Fuggetaboutit"
That's a great quote. What about the rest of Eastwood's ramblings?
I know you were against the war in Iraq, and that's okay. But you thought the war in Afghanistan was OK.
You know, I mean -- you thought that was something worth doing. We didn't check with the Russians to see how did it -- they did there for 10 years.
(APPLAUSE)(apparently, nobody knew that Bush started that war)
But I just think that there is so much to be done, and I think that Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan are two guys that can come along. See, I never thought it was a good idea for attorneys to the president, anyway.
(APPLAUSE)(apparently, nobody knew that Romney is a lawyer. Clint rags on lawyers for another 5 minutes)
We don't have to be -- what I'm saying, we do not have to be metal (ph) masochists and vote for somebody that we don't really even want in office just because they seem to be nice guys or maybe not so nice guys, if you look at some of the recent ads going out there, I don't know.
(APPLAUSE)(apparently not realizing that he himself just insulted the President by putting foul words in his mouth)
Good role model for the modern republican party - old, white, uninformed, metal (mental) midgets that think we are all stupid like him.
A slow but recovering economy,I think he can
Richard Roth: The presidents record is available for all to see. Instead of bashing Obama for what he's failed to accomplish how about defending what Romney proposes. I'm sorry I forgot. You can't because he refuses to discuss details. No one can win the presidency without explaining not only what the other guy did that was wrong but what he'd do to fix it.
I am not sure Romney actually believes half of what he says. He just has a habit of pandering to his audience. That is the stuff they want to hear. Don't, believe it, just turn on Fox News, aka The Bulls**t Mountain Network.
Romney is consistently pandering to whomever he speaks to.
I'm not sure Romney even remembers what he says from one event to the next. Clearly this guy has a problem with consistency...er, make that 'integrity'.
Romney was stating a fact and I'm glad he stuck by it. Those 47% of Americans that are currently paying no income taxes or receiving more in their return than they paid in are probably not going to vote for Romney. It would be a useless strategy for him to spend his time on those 47% when most of them will never vote for him or even listen to his message. It's refreshing to see an honest, no-so-politically-correct comment these days. As opposed to Obama on Letterman saying a good president represents all people. Well he has never represented my values, ideals, or hope for the country's future. No president is going to successfully represent 100% of the American people, but lying about it and saying you do is unrealistic and arrogant.
That 'fact' has already been disproved. A "no-so-politically-correct comment"??? How about this: "Vote for me, and I'll throw those lazy freeloading parasites out into the street!"
Face it, he revealed what he thinks, and the overwhelming response was and is, negative. The idiot teabaggers are picking this up as their banner and running with it. Their ignorance is stunning. They actually think they can put a positive spin on this insult to Amercia.
Kudos on the Jon Stewart reference. "B.S. Mountain Network", ya gotta love it!
Replacing the "I built it." mantra already?
Doesn't OdumbO pander to the 47% by offering illegal immigration a path of no deportation, free food stamps/welfare, no work requirements for unemployment, interest free for tuition, If that's not buying the voters I don't know what is. The only thing he is not offfering to the 54% lower gas prices, creating more job, lowering the deficit what his really telling the 54% work harder to support the 47%.
