3. A FOIA request was required to obtain the White House visitors log after the White House's refusal to release the information. Special "visitor" on numerous occasions was SEIU Trumpka whose "Agenda was Obama's agenda". And, this administration is still fighting in court against rulings that would grant the public a legal right to such data.
4. To counter FOIA requests, the DHS has ordered, since July 2009, "career employees to provide political staffers with information about the people who asked for records — such as where they lived and whether they were private citizens or reporters — and about the organizations where they worked".
5. Yep, Mr. Obama fulfilled his promise of a Transparent administration.

ObamaCare.

1. During his presidential campaign, Obama indicated that his mother died of cancer after being denied coverage for a pre-existing condition. Her image was used in a campaign ad, repeated the claim in debates, and used the same rhetoric as President when selling ObamaCare to the American people. However, it has been reported that Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, had health insurance through her employer and was only denied disability insurance. And, Mrs. Obama claimed that Mr. Obama's mother was discriminated against at a bank in Hawaii when in fact, she was the first female to be selected to a top banking position.
2. Obama pledged during his campaign and throughout his presidency not to raise taxes on families making less than $250,000. ObamaCare's mandate (TAX) will be on all Americans not having health insurance coverage. And the TAX will be administered by the IRS which routinely gives out BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars to Illegal Aliens (Immigrants).
3. Mr. Obama repeatedly pledged that under his health care measure, Americans would be able to keep their doctors. However, many employers will cut their health care plans and force workers into the state health care exchanges. A survey indicated that more than 30% of companies will discontinue coverage for their workers. Further, about 3,000,000 individuals will not be covered under ObamaCare. when ObamaCare's target was health care for ALL Americans.
4. Cut Medicare/Medicare Advantage by $ 714,000,000,000 to use that money to support ObamaCare. How is that working for you, Liberal Medicare (Senior) Advantage subscribers ?
5. Yep, ObamaCare is going to do wonders for American's healthcare.

Stimulus.

1. $ 787,000,000,000 (CBO revised to $ 814,000,000,00) stimulus package for shovel-ready construction jobs and keep the unemployment at or below 8%. Mr. Obama later admitted that "There's no such thing as shovel-ready projects." while Mr. Biden later stated that the Stimulus was a failure. Most "Stimulus Go Green" payback programs failed and the companies went BANKRUPT.
2. Total cost for ALL Stimulus/Bail-Out initiatives: $ 2,800,000,000,000 and the economy remains stagnant and the unemployment rate is outrageous.
3. Yep, Mr. Obama's Stimulus worked and saved the World from a depression.

Government Motors.

1. The American taxpayers still own about 28% of GM stock. The Secretary of the Treasury indicated recently that $25,000,000,000 still owed to the American taxpayers will be LOST. Approximately 800,000 Illegal Aliens (Immigrants) children allowed to remain in the U.S. for two years. Compliments of a "new" DHS regulation bypassing Congressional procedures and hits on "unconstitutional". Expect the White House to increase this number prior to the election.
2. Yep, Mr. Obama's "I don't need Congress to get my agenda pushed through" is really working.

1. Disclosed details of the Navy SEAL team that killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and collaborating sensitive information with Bollywood to produce a movie of the attack.
2. Disclosed U.S. cyber warfare against Iran' nuclear facility.
3. Disclosed procedures and "hit list" for targeting militants for drone attacks.
4. Disclosed existence of a double agent who penetrated a militant group in Yemen.
5. Disclosed airfield to be used by Israel for possible Iran nuclear facility attack.

But the July 30 decision by the Iraqi central criminal court, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, ordered Daqduq be freed immediately. It also makes it clear that Iraq believes the legal case against him is over.

Well, Jim, while we are touting what "is not the American way," let us not give in to the distraction. You know what I find "not the American way?" The references from Republicans about freeloaders. My 88 year old father is dying of heart failure. When my mother died of ALS two years ago, it took a huge financial toll on a lifetime of savings and investing, badly injured by Enron and the economic issues of the last few years impacting their investments. He just sold his modest home of 54 years to pay for the 24 hour care he needs and survives on a small pension, Social Security, and Medicare, which he paid into all his adult life. He does these things without a single complaint, despite the pain of leaving the home where his memories of my mother are most poignant.

This is a man who volunteered in WWII to go overseas and fight, where he was wounded. After he left active military, he went to work for the military as a civilian, until he retired. Life-long Republicans, gave 10% of all earnings to church and charity, worked hard, active in the community, honest as the day is long, lived frugally and saved like crazy, the moral model of responsibility ... that was my parents.

Now, suddenly, this wonderful man is declared a Freeloader by his own party because he isn't currently paying federal income tax???? THAT is UN-American. My dad is one of the 47%... and I am incredibly proud of him. A million Mitts wouldn't be sufficient to equal one of a man of my father's great character. 1. I watched Fox News and MSNBC side by side. While I pretty much hate both stations it was very appearant Fox at least was more unbiased which for once was refreshing. (Most times they are anything but unbiased). Perhaps we should dig into MSNBC a bit. So your arguement about Fox while may be true MSNBC is in bed with Obama for sure.

2. Job: He actually created 4.5 million although Ben Brernanke says he created 2.3 million of those through his policies. If you have noticed the real unemployment rate has ticked down only .3 % and the number on unemployment have ticked down much more. The reason being is peoples unemployment have run out and some have just given up. The numbers you have given also do not take into consideration that companies had over unemployeed people in a panic and many were rehired because of that. It is just like the stock market, when it goes into apanic whether it be a stock or a market you always see a bounce back. Thats human nature at work. So did Obama really create all those jobs. No would be the correct answer.

3. Look at 2. There are more people still unemployeed according to the department of labor and Obama. So what part of that are you arguing about?

4. The debt question. You are again wrong. You see things you want to see that have nothing to do with reality. We are now at 16 trillion in debt. Obama has added more to debt than the last several presidents combined. And the real recepients were Unions. Look at what percentage of contracts went to union based organizations. Many of them no bid. How much additional debt, waste and fraud do you think that racked up. According to government oversight committees the numbers are in the high billions.

5. Stock market: You ever hear of the phrase you can't fight the fed. Thats why the markets are high. What do you think is going to happen to those retirement accounts when the feds take away the punch bowl. The market is artificially inflated because of the fed. What do you think will happen when we see a downgrade to junk status of our debt. Thats the path we are on right now. Your retirement account will be worthless to say the least.

6. Economic growth: Our growth would be much higher and much faster if Obama knew what he was doing. He has added so much regulation and cost to business that they are running very lean on labor and will stay that way in order to make their profits. Profits are up but revenue is actually down. That pretty much says it all.

7.Tarp: You obviously forgot about AIG and money still owed by the auto makers. I cannot say all tarp was bad though. We did make some money off the program but AIG is certainly not one of them. Also not all of that was done under Bush. I also have read some news clippings from that period that said Bush consulted with Obama on all of these items and Obama was for it. So on this you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

8. Taxes: Policy tax center. Not exactly a shining example of evidence given their past. Obama basically has helped to redistribute wealth and create a welfare nation. Thats not what this country is about or should be about. Most number of people on welfare and foodstamps. Most number of people not paying taxes. Obama and Romney both have bad ideas regarding taxes. Obama says just raise taxes on the rich. Romney says cut everyones taxes. Both are wrong and both know it. The math is not their to simply raise the taxes on the rich. You have to broaden the bases in a huge way to get additional revenue to balance the budget and bring down debt. Cutting taxes on everyone decreases revenue and increases debt. By the way Obamas plan to raise taxes on just the rich actually increases our debt. The reason is his spending plan far out strips his new revenue. If he gets re-elected this would be his last term. My guess is he will end up raising taxes on all becuase he will have no choice. Same for Romney.

9.Terrorism: Sorry but you have no legs to stand on here. Obama even said thanks to Bushes policies he was able to get Laden.Under Obama we now face even bigger threats than before and we are less secure. Sorry but Obamas polices have made the middle east even worse.

I made the comment some time ago that Democrats like to get as many people as possible dependent on government assistance by promising ever increasing 'free benefits', and then using that 'hook' as a campaign issue by saying "Republicans want to take away your benefits", this creating a base of support for Democrats - at taxpayer expense.

Now that we have about 47% of families in that category, they appear to be within striking distance of their goal of "A majority voting themselves raises by electing politicians that will keep promising more and more 'freebies', and forcing someone else to pay the tab".

It is obvious that at some time there will no longer be any wealth to give to the bottom 50%, but by then it will be too late! If one does not learn from history we will be bound to repeat it! We need to remember that we have the greatest country on earth and we can overcome the first four years of Obama's rule, but, I really do not think that we can survive another four.

The rich have been redistributing wealth for years. As increased productivity over the last 30 years has increased profits , the business owners have chosen to pay themselves (on average) an increasingly larger amount of the productivity increase and the workers a smaller share of their productivity gains. This has redistributed more wealth to the owners and less to the workers than prior to this period. It is a business owner's right to do this. Labor unions used to help keep the worker's share of productivity increases, but their power is waning.

However, the macroeconomic impact of shifting these rates of distribution has resulted in an oversupply of capital and and shortage of consumer demand. This has been amplified by the extra large tax cuts given to the rich over the last 30 years. Essentially, we have an economy where consumers cannot afford all that our companies can produce.

There is a balance that needs to be maintained in an economy. When the rich have 24% of the income as they do now(only 10% in 1980), they have a surplus of money that they have no real use for (0% 10 year T-bill rate). Meanwhile, consumers (these companies' workers) don't have enough money to spend (70% of our economy is consumer sales). So, millions of workers remain unemployed until consumer sales go up and rich begin investing more again.

And there's the catch. What is going to make consumer sales go up? Pay raises from the ownership class? More consumer debt? Tax cuts for rich people? A balanced budget?

PAY RAISES WOULD HELP. EASIER CREDIT WOULD HELP. Tax cuts for rich people won't increase sales, they already are sitting on a pile of money. A balanced budget, Nope. The "fiscal cliff" budget would put our economy into recession (CBO) and cost 700,000 jobs and that's just a step towards a balanced budget.

We need to improve sales to have greater job growth. If the rich would pay their workers 10% more tomorrow, the economy would improve, sales would go up (all companies taken together), and companies would start hiring more. The economic engine would be running faster.

So, when the rich complain about redistributing wealth, they can help our economy by taking some of the money they are sitting on and use it to pay their workers more. (voluntary redistribution of income). And if they won't do this how do we increase consumer sales?

A tax increase on the rich and continued tax cuts for the working class would be a start. But that pay raise would be better, wouldn't it?

But those who were involved in the effort say Obama played a minor role in working the problem and never accomplished his goal. , along with asbestos testing by the Chicago Reporter, that got Chicago officials interested in the issue. Rush, who launched an inquiry into the situation when he was a member of the Chicago City Council, says he is “offended” that Obama did not mention Johnson in his account.

After three years working as an organizer, Obama could say he helped obtain grants for a jobs program and got asbestos removed from some pipes in the project. But as the Los Angeles Times has noted, the “large-scale change that was needed at the 1,998-unit project was beyond his reach.” To this day, most of the asbestos remains in the apartments.

Fruitless though his efforts were, Obama devoted more than 100 pages to his experiences at Altgeld Gardens and surrounding areas. Michelle Obama has said his work as a community organizer helped him decide “how he would impact the world,” assisting people to improve their lives. Yet, in a revealing passage in his book, Obama wrote, “When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly.”

After going to Harvard Law School, Obama returned to Chicago, where he briefly headed

a voter registration drive and then became a lawyer. While Obama’s campaign has touted him as a civil rights lawyer, “Over the nine years that Obama’s law license was active in Illinois, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers who drew up briefs and contracts in a variety of cases,” according to David Mendell’s “Obama: From Promise To Power.”

“A search of all the cases in Cook County Circuit Court in which Obama made an appearance since he graduated from Harvard in 1991 shows: zero,” the article said.

Instead, his practice was “confined mainly to federal court in Chicago, where he made formal appearances in only five district court cases and another five in cases before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — a total of 10 cases in his legal career,” the paper said.

If Obama had virtually no impact as either a community organizer or as a lawyer, he was even more invisible in the state Senate and later in the U.S. Senate.

In both bodies, Obama had a reputation for voting “present,” thus avoiding controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he has missed more than one in five votes.

Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator was enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

Raising the minimum wage affects only lower wage workers. It did help spending in the economy but not nearly enough to counter other negative forces at work in the economy then such as rising gas prices and the financial meltdown.

Now that the financial market is stable and the housing market is in recovery, pay raises will help economy grow faster. And I am talking about reducing rich's share of profit due to productivity increases to historic levels to pay workers more without raising prices.

That movie was produced by the RNC. We all know it because we know Republican tactics. They just kicked it up a notch.

you didn't happen to catch the interview with the producer of the film who stated that they entire thing was just an elaborate conspiracy theory that he outlined with no basis in fact? he just wanted to make a buck off the ABO crowd... There is your "truth".

@ Punjab: You are correct that it is "scary." You may not know but crowds stood up and applauded another piece of propaganda too in 1915 called "The Birth of a Nation." Crowds stood in the Southern states of The United States of America and applauded for hours a film that glorified and promoted racial hatred and the Ku Klux Klan. Your argument is lame that because people applaude propaganda it must be true. Obviously, if you accept the false words of patriotism from Rupert Murdoch, the richest Australian and Denesh D' Souza an India born hatemonger, who isn't the great grandson of John Phillip Sousa, neither Murdoch nor D'Souza have our Nation's best interest at heart and in fact Murdoch has gotten richer and richer as Australias economy has boomed while the United States was spending $4trillion for Fox/W. Bush/Neocon War on Terror depleted our Nation's ability to build our economy. What do both of these charlatans have to gain from severely naive and outwardly uninformed people? For months, Mitt Romney and his Republican allies have been falsely claiming that President Obama "made the economy worse." This week, Romney preposterously declared Obama "knowingly slowed down our recovery." And today in Missouri, the Republican nominee doubled-down, charging that the President "slowed the recovery and harmed our economy," a result Romney insisted constituted "a moral failure of tragic proportions."

As it turns out, Thursday would have been a good day for Mitt Romney to stop sniffing glue. Because just 24 hours earlier, the director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Officeblew the Republican slander out of the water.

As the Washington Post reported, the House Budget Committee heard testimony from CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf to answer simple question: did the $787 billion Obama stimulus work? Unfortunately for Republican propagandists, Elmendorf clearly refuted Mitt Romney's claim that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was "the largest one-time careless expenditure of government money in American history."

Under questioning from skeptical Republicans, the director of the nonpartisan (and widely respected) Congressional Budget Office was emphatic about the value of the 2009 stimulus. And, he said, the vast majority of economists agree.

In a survey conducted by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, 80 percent of economic experts agreed that, because of the stimulus, the U.S. unemployment rate was lower at the end of 2010 than it would have been otherwise.

"Only 4 percent disagreed or strongly disagreed," CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf told the House Budget Committee. "That," he added, "is a distinct minority."

Not content with that response, Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp tried again. "Where did Washington mess up?" Huelskamp demanded. "Because you're saying most economists think it should've worked. It didn't." As the Post's Lori Montgomery detailed, Elmendorf drove home the point:

Most economists not only think it should have worked; they think it did work, Elmendorf replied. CBO's own analysis found that the package added as many as 3.3 million jobs to the economy during the second quarter of 2010, and may have prevented the nation from lapsing back into recession.

Elmendorf's agency released its latest assessment of the stimulus just last week. And as the table below shows, at its peak in 2010 the ARRA added up to 3.3 million jobs, cut unemployment by as much as 1.8 percent and boosted GDP by up to 4.1 percent. (It's also worth noting that the CBO once again confirmed that aid to the states and purchases by the federal government delivers the biggest bang for the buck, while upper income tax cuts provide the least.)

Still, the Romney campaign remains determined to whitewash that message. As one Romney aide described President Obama's stimulus program, "He spent $800 billion of everybody's money. How'd it work out?"

As it turns out, it worked pretty well.

Sadly for the myth makers of Team Romney, the facts and the overwhelming consensus of economists - including John McCain's 2008 brain trust - prove otherwise. President Obama not only did not make the American economy worse; no thanks to obstructionist Republicans in Congress he saved the United States from "Great Depression 2.0" and put the nation on the path to recovery.

The proof starts, but certainly doesn't end with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Despite Republican mythmaking that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) "created zero jobs," in November the CBO reported that the stimulus added up to 2.4 million jobs and boosted GDP by as much as 1.9 points in the previous quarter. As The Hill explained, the CBO has found that "President Obama's 2009 stimulus package continues to benefit the struggling economy":

The agency said the measure raised gross domestic product by between 0.3 and 1.9 percent in the third quarter of 2011, which ended Sept. 30. The Commerce Department said Tuesday that GDP in that quarter was only 2 percent total...

By CBO's numbers, the $800 billion stimulus added up to 0.9 million jobs in 2009, 3.3 million jobs in 2010 and 2.6 million jobs in 2011.

In February, the New York Times assessed the impact of the Obama stimulus and rebutted its Republican critics who looked instead to the UK for inspiration:

By comparison, despite criticism of its size and composition by both the right and the left, the stimulus by the Obama administration did add to jobs and growth. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates it will have contributed at least 1.6 million jobs and perhaps as many as 8.4 million by 2013.

This month, the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago surveyed a panel of economic experts of different political persuasions about the impact of the president's stimulus package: eight out of 10 said it had contributed to lower unemployment by the end of 2010. There was less consensus on whether its benefits would exceed its long-term costs, including higher taxes to pay for the spending. Still, when asked if the policy was worth it, four times as many economists agreed as disagreed.

Among those economists is Mark Zandi, who in 2008 served as an adviser to Republican John McCain. Federal intervention, he and Princeton economist Alan Blinder argued in August 2010, literally saved the United States from a second Great Depression. In "How the Great Recession Was Brought to an End," Blinder and Zandi's models confirmed the impact of the Obama recovery program and concluded that "laissez faire was not an option":

The effects of the fiscal stimulus alone appear very substantial, raising 2010 real GDP by about 3.4%, holding the unemployment rate about 1½ percentage points lower, and adding almost 2.7 million jobs to U.S. payrolls. These estimates of the fiscal impact are broadly consistent with those made by the CBO and the Obama administration.

But their modeling also suggests that the totality of federal efforts to rescue the banking system dating back to the fall of 2008 prevented a catastrophic collapse:

We find that its effects on real GDP, jobs, and inflation are huge, and probably averted what could have been called Great Depression 2.0. For example, we estimate that, without the government's response, GDP in 2010 would be about 11.5% lower, payroll employment would be less by some 8½ million jobs, and the nation would now be experiencing deflation.

Even Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former head of the CBO and chief economic adviser to John McCain during the 2008 election, acknowledged the impact of the stimulus. Certainly no fan of either Barack Obama or the design of the ARRA, Holtz-Eakin told Ezra Klein that:

"The argument that the stimulus had zero impact and we shouldn't have done it is intellectually dishonest or wrong. If you throw a trillion dollars at the economy it has an impact, and we needed to do something."

Lamentably, we still need to do something. As May's disappointing jobs numbers show, the slowdown in China and the deepening crisis in Europe are already having an impact in the U.S. But the same Senate Republicans who gave the February 2009 stimulus bill only three votesfilibustered President Obama's proposed $447 billion American Jobs Act last October. Nine days later, the GOP blocked $35 billion in aid to states to pay the salaries of teachers, firefighters and police. (Forecasters estimated the AJA stymied by the Republicans could have added up to 1.3 million jobs and 2 points to GDP this year. Nevertheless, Mitt Romney charged on Tuesday that Obama "hasn't put forth a plan to get us working again."

As it turns out, the 600,000 jobs shed by state and local governments since December 2008 not only added as much a full point to the unemployment rate, but meant "the current recovery is the only one that has seen public-sector losses over its first 31 months." Despite that "anti-stimulus," Mitt Romney pretended once again today that "President Obama has expanded government."

No, President Obama has not expanded government. He has not "made the economy worse." And as the CBO's Doug Elmendorf made very clear to disappointed House Republicans yesterday, the stimulus was not a failure.

Hey Newsgirl - What in the movie is untrue?? Who his parents were? Who their friends and mentors were? Who mentored Obama as a child? Who raised Obama.? Who his friends and associates are? How many half (or some part) brothers and sisters does he have? Did he not write Dreams of My Father? Why would anyone with his background understand capitalism and what made America great?

I keep waiting and waiting for some Obama spokesman to challenge the details of the documentary; non yet!

It is ironic that the bigots on the right actually buy into the propaganda sold to them buy a man from India, Denesh d' Souza.  He isn't John Phillip's great grandson I'll assure you. So when you cite a propaganda movie consider the source of who made the movie and exactly what it is they are trying to accomplish. Do you think d' Souza, as a man from India, really has the US's best interest at heart and that is why he is trying to "expose" President Obama just out of  the goodness of his heart? The naive people who even pay to see this movie are the same group of people who listen to and swallow hook, line and sinker the rubbish from Fox News and accept it on its face as true even though the source company is owned by Rupert Murdoch who is an Australian. Look at the state of the Australian economy during the American War on Terror that was bought hook, line and sinker by the naive Republicans who assumed that because they show some pretty faces and flash flags across the screen they must have the United State's best interest at heart. Is it coincidence that during the eight years of W. Bush's/Fox's War on Terror that the Australian economy has grown exponentially and the Australian Dollar has strengthened against every major currency and against gold? They don't you morons. Turn off Fox and let the space between your ears have a break trying to find out where President Obama was born.

Every election cycle Republican money rolls out another right wing fantasy thriller that just makes their nerve endings tingle. And every cycle they go on a blog binge yelling, "this time's it's really, really true"! And every cycle the same 12% believe everything the editing crew feeds them.

One of you just asked, "well, why doesn't the left dispute what the movie says"? Because we have better things to do with our time than waste it trying to talk sense to a winger. There's your answer in as simple terms as I can muster, the kind even a winger can digest. Feel free to get back to me with any other asinine questions you might have.
