NBC/WSJ poll: Obama's approval on foreign policy drops

After last week's political firestorm over attacks on U.S. embassies in Egypt and Libya, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that President Obama's approval rating on foreign policy has dropped five points since August.

In the poll, 49 percent approve of the president's job in handling foreign policy, versus 46 percent who disapprove.

Last month, 54 percent said they approved of his foreign-policy handling.

Much of that drop can be attributed to increased political polarization just seven weeks until Election Day.

Indeed, 86 percent of Democrats approve of Obama on foreign policy, compared with just 10 percent of Republicans. Yet in August, nearly twice as many Republicans -- 19 percent -- approved.

Still, in the current NBC/WSJ poll, only 41 percent of independents approve of Obama's foreign-policy handling, versus 53 percent who did so last month.

The full NBC/WSJ poll -- which was conducted Sept. 12-16 of 900 registered voters (including 270 by cell phone) and which has an overall margin of error of plus-minus 3.3 percentage points -- will be released at 6:30 pm ET.

Hope Romney is right, and he probably is. He will have a hard time getting any of that 47% because

they are primarily democrats and so far Romney has not provided them with any real ideas of how he

will get them a job that makes enough money to have to pay taxes. Doubt that he will or could if he

become president.

In a way they are victims. Victims of a capitalistic society and socialistic government that continually

clash through our political system to gain power and control of our society. Sadly this clash is

ruining our social and economic system. Remember another 47% of the population will vote republican.

It is the other 6% that we spend billions of dollars on to buy their votes. The 94% is pretty cheap.

Our next President and Congress had better find a way to work together to bring back the basic concept

this country was built on, democracy and cooperation. We are far short of that now.

So many haters, on both sides, sad! Everyone is talking about Romney's taxes and the 47% that do not pay tax. The tax laws have been in place for years, yet Congress, yes Congress will not make them fair for all.

My concern about Mitt Romney is the bailout that he took from the government for Bain Capital, then failed to pay back the taxpayers the full amount of his loan, which amounted to millions. Google Bain Capital Bailout and get the story. This speaks more of his integrity than anything else. My vote will go to another candidate on the ballot, not Obama or Romney. Both suck!!!!!!!

If you vote for "other" you are really wasting your time. No one cares about the protest voter. Educate youself on the issues. One must stand up for the marginal differences and vote for a viable candidate, or don't bother posting or complaining when the things you care about, (if anything), don't happen. Once you pick, even the lessor of two evils, make sure you register, have proper ID and vote. Some are counting on stealing your vote. It's like saying, "That guy is going to rob me, but I'll show him, I will let him".

Just what this country needs,Romney, an inarticulate reframing and flip flopping president to act as the leader of the free world. Or, how to accidentally start WW 3 by a dumb remark.

@maxx power, of course your going to blame all 16trillion on the President, thats what faux news has brainwashed you into believing. The truth is our debt was over 10trillion when Obama took office,we were still paying for both wars, which made our debt increase even more,if your only argument is too claim that all 16trillion was created by obama then you are on the, "we don't believe in facts" bandwagon.

let's be brave now people, let's elect a leader who will really fix this mess, wether he is a liar, flip-flop, kenyan,

dog lover, dog eater, drug user, dems or repubs. 4 years of blamos, stonewalling, hypocrisy and factual records

should be enough for you to vote against this president that you adore. the next generation who will pay

for the huge debt are citizens, not dems or repubs. the bank that might foreclose your homes will not care

if you are democrat or republican. i know some of you can not stand romney, but do you think most of us can

stand an arrogant failed president like this president, mocking about anything? if you really love this president, send him back to his home that his friend, rezko, help him to acquire w/ the best deal in town, and enjoy what he really wanted to do, it's tee time!!!!

this huge debt, we won't know if they will be republicans or democrats. the banks who will foreclose our homes

will not care if we are dems or repubs i know it's a challenge to some people to vote against their party, but this country needs brave people to set aside the party they belong to. i know you can not stand romney but do you think most people can stand obama?

Could it be that obama is & was missing in action last week again after 4 Americans were killed, an American Embassy was attacked, American flags were burned, photos of obama were stepped on and burned, on US soil. Where was our great leader? attending a fun raiser in Vegas, then the white house blames the terrorist attacks on a film that hardly any body sees. Excuses and deferments, every time something happens that would involve leadership, or a decision, obama is missing in action or leading from behind. And it is getting old quick even by some democrats who are finally waking up to the fact that obama is not a leader or a representative of the free world. Obama is a devout Muslim who has the Muslim brotherhood as his primary concern, and not the United States if America, if he did he would act that way as a president of the United States should. His background as a radical, his acquaintances (the persons he paled around with) his own admittance that he could never befriend a rev. wright. on & on the history is not buried that deep, obama is a disgrace to America no matter how you look at him he's not good for America.
