Peace in the Middle East -- probably not going to happen, and it’s Palestinians’ fault, according to Mitt Romney.
That was the sentiment from the Republican nominee for president at a closed-door fundraiser, according to released excerpts of video from the left-leaning magazine Mother Jones. Romney painted Palestinians as “having no interest” in peace and “committed to the destruction of Israel.”
“I'm torn by two perspectives in this regard,” Romney said when asked how he thinks the “Palestinian problem can be solved.” “One is the one that I've had for some time which is that the Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish.”
This contradicts public comments from Romney that he believes in a "two-state solution." “I believe in a two-state solution which suggests there will be two states, including a Jewish state," he told the newspaper Haaretz.
Romney talks about the difficulty in establishing borders for an independent Palestine that would allow Israelis to thwart the flow of weapons from Iran to the region.
“We have got to keep the Iranians from bringing weaponry into the West Bank,” Romney said.

He adds: “These are problems that are very hard to solve. And I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes -- committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel. I just say there is no way, and so, what you do is you move things along the best way you can and hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize this is going to remain an unsolved problem.
Former Gov. John Sununu talks Mitt Romney's remarks saying his comments were "in response to a president who has decided to run a campaign on class warfare."
“The idea of pushing on the Israelis to give something up, to give the Palestinians to act is the worst thing in the world. We have done that time and time again. It does not work. The only answer is to show strength again, American strength, American resolve and the Palestinians someday reach a point where they want peace or that we are trying to force peace on them. That is worth having a discussion. But until then it's just a political thing.”

Romney has been sharply critical of President Obama's handling of the Israeli-Palestinian relationship -- in particular, President Obama's urging Israel to halt settlement expansion.
American presidents have struggled for decades to broker peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Though the United States has provided Israel with military support and arms, it has traditionally maintained a role of neutrality when it comes to discussing the peace process.
This is not the first time Romney has found himself in the midst of controversy when it comes to Israeli-Palestinian issues.
Back in July, at a fundraiser during his overseas trip, Romney implied Palestinian “culture” was to blame for lower gross-domestic product in areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority versus Israel.
“Culture makes all the difference,” Romney said. “Culture makes all the difference.”
The Romney campaign did not immediately respond to an email request for response.
A full transcript of the exchange is below:
QUESTION: You were in Jerusalem. And we appreciate you being there. How do you think that the Palestinian problem can be solved? What are you going to do about it?
ROMNEY: “I'm torn by two perspectives in this regard. One is the one that I've had for some time which is that the Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish. Now why do I say that? Some might say because the Palestinians have West Bank and have security and have set up a separate nation for the Palestinians. And then come a couple of thorny questions. I don't have a map here to look at the geography. But the border between Israel and the West Bank is obviously right there right next to Tel Aviv, which is the financial capital the industrial capital of Israel the center of Israel.
It's what the border would be seven miles from Tel Aviv to what would the West Bank. Nine miles, okay I came close. Nine miles. The challenge is the other side of the West Bank, the other side of what would be this new Palestinian state would be Syria at one point or Jordan. Of course the Iranians would want to do through the West Bank exactly what they did to Lebanon what they did in Gaza, which is the Iranians would want to bring missile and armament into West bank and potentially threaten Israel.
So Israel of course would have to say that can't happen; we have got to keep the Iranians from bringing weaponry into the West Bank. Well that means who, the Israelis would patrol the border between Jordan, Syria, and this new Palestinian nation. Well the Palestinians would say no way we are an independent nation, you can't guard our border with other Arab nations. How about the airport? How about flying into this Palestinian nation? Are we going to allow military aircraft to come in and weaponry to come in, if not who is going to keep it from coming in? Well the Israelis. The Palestinians are going to say well we are not an independent nation if Israel is able to come in and tell us what to land in our airport.
These are problems that are very hard to solve. And I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, for political purposes. Committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel. [inaudible] I just say there is no way and so what you do is you move things along the best way you can and hope for some degree of stability but you recognize this is going to remain an unsolved problem.
The idea of pushing on the Israelis to give something up, to give the Palestinians to act is the worst thing in the world we have done that time and time again. It does not work. The only answer is to show strength again, American strength, American resolve and the Palestinians someday reach a point where they want peace or that we are trying to force peace on them. That is worth having a discussion. But until then it's just a political thing.

Tell us how you really feel...Willard!
At least we now know, if Willard somehow manages to steal this election, we will be facing WWIII...
Amazing how he's all about strength while neither he or his 5 sons have ever served a day in the military!
Much easier to send other peoples kids into the meat grinder!
Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace,
Hey Myth,
Neither do you right wing nut jobs plan on peace in America. Just look at all the lunatic fringe groups you brown nose who talk about violence. How about you calling on a little civility to them?
I need to also mention asking the saber rattlers in your campaign like John BOLT-ON who thinks the only solution to anything in the middle East is to bomb it; along with the other saber rattling war profiteers.
Just as it was the Native American's fault too, right Mitt. If you lived 4 centuries ago, you would've made a fine Conquistidor.
Step 1: Tie pooch on roof of car [x]
Step 2: Screw the pooch [x]
this is beyond Mitt, Peace in the Middle East has been a theme for quite some time. Quit rooting for the enemy Left of Castro crowd.
HOW DID OBAMA GET A PEACE PRIZE?
So, Mitt, care to explain how much "interest" the Israelis have in achieving a peaceful solution when Netanyahu keeps building settlements on disputed land. It takes both Israel and Palestine together to achieve an agreement.
"Palestine" was a creation of the British when they took over the region from the Ottomans after the First World War. The "Palestinians" in the West bank are Jordanians (another invention of the British), and those in Gaza are Egyptians. I don't see anyone clamoring for Jordan or Egypt to take back their citizens.
Mr. Romney can't even get his history of the region straight. Jordan and Egypt should be direct participants in the peace process. Unfortunately Mr. Romney is too much of an ideologue to understand the process.
Demographics are NOT on the side of the Israelis in the long term.
Do we Americans want to place our trust in this guys' foreign policy creds?
neither can you.
there will be no peace between the Israel and displaced Arabs, ever; unless Israel gives up its quest to make Jerusalem its capital, and the Palestinians get their own nation; and then it will be at best a fragile peace.
Mitt Romney's mouth is going to get people killed if he's not careful.
History you say then how about this:
The "Palestinian" cause predates the 1967 war, even prior to the annexation of Gaza and the West Bank by Israel. The Arabs want Israel gone; the Palestinian's plight is simply a convenient excuse. There has been a Jewish presence in Israel for 3500 years- the Muslims haven't been around for half that long:
1. The Romans took Israel from the Jews.
2. the Byzantines (Western Romans) inherited it.
3. The Caliphate Arabs took it from them when they waged Jihad across the Middle East and Northern Africa in the 8th century).
4. The Seljuk Turks, and then the Ottomans took it from them.
5. And finally, the British took it after WWI, splitting the area into 2 parts- Palestine, and Transjordan, with Palestine further divided by the UN partition into the Jewish state of Israel, and the West Bank (which became part of Jordan, along with Transjordan.
The Arabs response to the partition, 20 years before the West Bank and Gaza were issues, was an attempt at annihilation of the Jewish state- and so far, 63 years later, only Egypt and Jordan, the 2 countries who lost the territory disputed by the Palestinians (only Syria gripes about the Golan), are the only ones who have normal diplomatic relations with Israel and recognize Israel's right to exist. Odd, no?
The land of Israel was and will always be the homeland of the Jews. We don't see Israeli Jews who were thrown out of Iraq, Iran, Syria asking for their land, (right of return) homes, businesses, etc back (about 800,000 of them). Perhaps those countries should give the Jews former properties to the "Palestinians", and call it square?
Many believe that the oppressed have become the oppressors'. Can you blame them given the history of the region, the Churches' and Islams' treatment of them over the last five hundred years and their legitimate security concerns after seeing their loved ones blown up by suicide bombers. Context is everything since Israel is a small country. The loss of 30 people there is the equivalent to a 9-11 here.
The sad fact is that other faiths would not have had any access to their shrines if they were under control of the Palestinians. You have only to look at desecration of your holy places throughout the Muslim world for the answer to that question.
Perhaps the bright bulbs on the right can sort it all out for us. After all look at their record!
These people have been fighting since the origin of recorded history. Even in the Old Testiment of the Bible. What makes anyone think that we can get them to make peace now? The only path to peace is for one side to totally wipe out the other side. Then there can be peace. If you want peace then you better pick out which side you want to back.
The Iraq and Afghanistan wars are barely "over" and he's already instigation another war? Unless he's willing to send his 5 sons to the front lines, Romney shouldn't be delivering war rhetoric.
Mitt, SHUT UP Already! Get your butt back on the porch and cork it. We really don't need a war right now and you seem to think that starting one is going to get you elected!
Does Romney have anyone on his staff who can check his unscripted remarks before he says them? Or has he just given up on the election and has decided to go for broke by saying every idiotic thing that pops up in his empty head?
Such as:
"I saw my father march with Martin Luther King!" —GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, bragging in 2007 about his family's record on civil rights. Romney later admitted he didn't technically see his father march with King, nor did his father ever march with the civil rights leader on the same day or in the same city.
except the Byzantine Empire was East, nice try. If you're going to plagerize another website make sure they're accurate
I think you can go back farther than that. but dont let me stop you. But the Jews still lived in Israel and for the most part worshiped in autonmy (depending on the era of histroy)
only in certain regions. The Hagia Sophia in modern day Turkey still has portions in use for christian orthodoxy despite it being turned into a mosque.

WRONG, they got along for centuries
Revenge of the Carter's !!!!!
No president will ever solve that problem. How can they? They can at best stop the two sides from annihilating each other.
I don't really understand why the Palestinians insist on living there in that contested area. It sounds so unpleasant. Why don't they choose as individuals to move to a neighboring country where they can live more normal lives. I don't see that stupid piece of real estate as anything worth fighting over.
Dan the only time they have had peace is when one side wipes out the other. How do you make peace with someone who wants your total inhalation? You don't.

Last time I checked Orthodox Christians were not permitted to worship there. For all practical purposes it is a museum. Is that the only region?
Strange how you don't address the rest of the post which is not unlike you to pick and chose and then regurgitate out of context much like your candidate.
Everything in my post was factual!
Once upon a time, a widely circulated Jewish document described
Islam as "an act of God's Mercy".
Also, Jews in the near East, north Africa and Spain threw their
support behind advancing Muslim Arab armies.
No, these aren't fairy tales or propaganda. The relationship
between Muslims and Jews really was that cooperative and marked by peaceful
coexistence.
Just ask Khalid Siddiqi of the Islamic Education and Information
Center in San Jose, California where he also teaches Islamic Studies and Arabic
at Chabot College and Ohlone College.
Siddiqi notes that the first quote above is from S. D. Goitein's
book Jews and Arabs. The second is from Merlin Swartz's 'The Position of Jews in
Arab lands following the rise of Islam' (reprinted from The Muslim World.
Hartford Seminary Foundation LXI1970).
Swartz also says the Muslim Arab conquest marked the dawn of a
new era. Those forces that had led to the progressive isolation and disruption
of Jewish life were not only checked they were dramatically reversed.
In an interview with Sound Vision, Siddiqi gave numerous
examples of Jews flourishing under Muslim rule in places like Spain, Morocco,
North African in general and various parts of the Middle East.
Siddiqi points out that Islam as a religion has given specific
guidelines for the followers of Islam to base their relationship with any
non-Muslim. These include People of Scripture, like the Jews, people who belong
to other religions, and even atheists. Non-Muslims must be treated on the basis
of Birr (kindness) and Qist (justice), as referred to Surah 60 verse 8 of the
Quran.
It started at the time of the Prophet Mohammad
(peace and blessings be upon him)
The peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Jews began at the time
of the Prophet.
Siddiqi notes that the Jews welcomed the Prophet when he arrived
in Madinah at the time of Hijrah (migration), along with the rest of the city's
inhabitants.
But the Prophet had begun the step towards good relations with
Jewish and other communities in Madinah even before getting there.
After receiving an invitation to Madinah from one of the city's
tribes that had accepted Islam, the Prophet signed treaties with the city's
Jewish, Christian and polytheist tribes before he arrived there.
These treaties clearly laid out responsibilities of each of the
parties. It was based on these that the Prophet established the Mithaq al
Madinah, the constitution of
Madinah.
Siddiqi says this was the first constitution of the world and
one of the greatest political documents ever prepared by any human being. It is
the oldest surviving constitution of any state.
Under this constitution, any Jew who followed the Muslims was
entitled to their assistance and the same rights as anyone of them without any
injustice or partisanship.
It said the Jews are an Ummah (community of believers) alongside
the Muslims. The Jews have their religion and the Muslims theirs. As well, it
noted that each will assist one another against any violation of this covenant.
Jews during the Muslim era
Despite this early breach of contract, there are still numerous
examples from Muslim history of Muslim-Jewish cooperation and coexistence.
Siddiqi gave examples of how Muslim Spain, which was a "golden
era" of creativity and advancement for Muslims was also one for Jews.
While Europe was in its Dark Ages and Jews were reviled there,
Muslims in Spain during the same period worked side by side with Jews in
developing literature, science and art

In order to understand what the relations are, you must understand the history...
The reason the Arab world turned on the Jews is the european/white people.....
Not until then did was relationship between the two disrupted....

Three quotes that prove Mitt Romney is not deserving of the Presidency...
"...the Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish.” Mitt Romney

then you're just a geographical fool. if you are going to call Byzantines western show me where. In fact i'll start with a hint, look up the tetrarchy and Diocletian. while youre at it name the person who coined Byzantine Empire.
Let me know when you straighten it out.
Your original post claimed the British invented Palestine (british/Franco). The history is far deeper but the indeginious people weren't palestinians as they are now. the rest of your second post wasnt worth the time and i didnt see any obvious inaccuracies. As for regurgitating out of context, do tell what i regurgitated out of context
perhaps i was a bit wrong, i wasnt specific on its use. I did say a portion was used for religious services, no to the public. I said christian orthodoxy as that is likely the practising christian religion, it was of the byzantines.. see great schism
that was the one that popped into my head first. Egypt has coptic christians. maybe Iraq somewhere (doubtful)
[CA...If you're going to accuse me of plagiarizing then cite the webpage!]
Little Seizure doesn't know the definition of the word plagiarism...just like he has no idea what "debate" means...
You're good to go, Torp...pay no attention to the little man who carries his ass around in a sack.
Poor Mittens!!!!
The Etch-A-Sketch is working double time this week.
Gotta give 'em credit though. Very rarely have you seen a politician that is soooooo consistant with sticking BOTH feet in his mouth at the same time. WTG, Mitt!!!!!!!
But Mitt visited the Weeping Wall in Jerusalem, doesn't that make him an expert? :)
Two statements that changed history.......
1) Romney's 1% Declares Class Warfare on the 99%! (Don't pick on a group that is larger than you, especially if you need at least half of their votes)
2) Marie Antoinette says "The peasants have no bread? Let them eat cake!" (Funny how that worked out...)
And finally, not more than one Romney foot in mouth statement per day, please. Even stupid remarks need time to be savored and enjoyed.
I took a class in college back in the 80's called the "Arab-Israeli Conflict" and the professor made an interesting comment. He said there will always be conflict and the reason is simple: Both Israel and the Palestinians believe the land is critical to their religious beliefs. So there is no "split" that is feasible and acceptable. The Palestinians have made it clear the only acceptable solution is for Jews to leave their land. And Israel understands that as you give more and more territory to the Palestinians you don't appease them - you get them confident their ultimate solution to run Jews out of Israel is possible.
Mitt simply confirms he understands the Arab-Israeli conflict. Unfortunately the current Obama administration doesn't even know Islamic Terrorists hate us and blames the uprising on a YouTube video. There is your difference: A president like Mitt Romney that knows what is going on and how to approach problems - and then there is the rodeo clown Obama who simply tries to distract with no plan or ideas.

Sailman,
Cut the man some slack. When you've campaigned for the Presidency for 6 YEARS, as Mitt has, you're bound to make some distrotions. You know, like, one a day, or so. At least you can't call him a liar like george bush/dick cheney.
A person who cannot imagine peace ought not be give the task of trying to achieve it.
"Forced peace"? The newest oxymoron.
A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for perpetual war.
No doubt Caesar Augustus approves this message.
"That was the one that popped into my head first. Egypt has coptic christians. maybe Iraq somewhere (doubtful)."
Right CA! And of course we all know how well the Copts are doing in Egypt! They are barely hanging on!
Oh and while we're at it. The word Palestine is a bastardization of the the word Philistine. But you knew that didn't you.
It certainly will come true, if Romney become the President.
Why would the Palestinians behave like that? Could it be because they are seeing Israelis encroaching on what little land they have left after the formation of the state of Israel? Could it be because the West has always treated them like dirt?
Could Romney be itiching for a war to appease the military industrial complex, you know the very same military industrial complex President and 5 star General Dwight Eisenhower warned against?
Great strides defusing unrest between Israel and her neighbors have been made. The Camp David Accords went a long way to defusing tension in the region.
Under the Administrations of Presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter a lot of work culminated in a treaty between Israel and Egypt that is still in effect today. Yassir Arafat of the Palestinians worked with Menachem Began to stop the building of Kabutzes in the region but with Began gone they are doing more building than ever in the lands that are not part of Israel.
With all Israel has been through she needs our support but we must uderstand that we are not her poodle and that her neighbors rights and considerations must also be addressed. Diplomacy works. Despite the occasional missile across a border or car burning, riot or shelling of a village or three we aren't yet seeing Armaggedon. Maybe that is what the extremists all want but the devistation on all sides would be terrible and not worth all the slaughter. Like everything else in foreign policy Romney and Ryan don't have a clue.
You do know, of course, that the person responsible for the video calls himself a Coptic Christian.

But hey, no religious intolerance in THIS country. Oh, no.
That's just a figment of the liberal imagination.
A quote for Mitt Romney from one of my favorite Presidents, Ronald Reagan: "There you go again..."
Mitt would be running a great campaign if it wasn't for his mouth constantly screwing things up for him.
Speaking of Russia,

Mitt Romney Clarifies Remarks made to contributors!!!! What he meant to say:
1) "I only want to be a partial President. I can't handle the whole damn country."
2) "If Mideast peace is too hard, I'll just give up."
3) "I've had more flip flops than the shoe check girl at a Baghdad mosque."
4) "Well, someone had to run against this guy. Thanks for your electoral votes, Utah!"
5) "Ann told me to remind the GOP, "When things go bad, don't blame the messenger, blame the message."

Either that "professor" was an idiot, or you simply didnt pay attention...
THE FACT IS that Israel VIOLATED the border agreement and is EVEN NOW taking more and more land from the Palistinians
These "settlements" are proof of that..
ILLEGAL land grabs
Obama sounds like that too
Libya? Egypt? Obama ushering in Peace World Wide.
Who names their kid Mickey anyways? Stupid parents
Here is my story from when I lived in Israel. I did not live in a Palestinian family as I had my own family, but literally next to Palestinians: I lived in Tel Aviv, and Jaffo - which is a part of Tel Aviv, if you wish, or blended with it - is a home to a Palestinian majority. And before I became an American citizen, I was an Israeli citizen.
For one, you cannot tell Palestinians and Jews apart; two: they both are called Israelis: Israeli Palestinians and Israeli Jews. Three, best seafood restaurants are in Jaffo - you sit right on the dock and order your fish that has just been brought in by a Palestinian fisherman 15 min ago, right in front of your eyes. Yes, on the dock, with fishnets, fishing boats, etc they carve out a space for a few tables with starched white tablecloths and crystal and silver and fine china - and there you get to eat your fish that was caught just an hour ago, and watch the Sun setting into the Mediterranean Sea.
And if you feel like walking off some of that rich meal you just ate, you go out of the restaurant from the other, land side, and walk a few steps to the most recent excavation of some ancient ruin - Philistine, Jewish, or Roman - go underground with candles that are helpfully sold to you right there at the entrance, check it out, and when you come out - have some sweet tea British or Bedouin style, and some yummy Palestinian treat or a Jewish Sufghania-like pastry - heaven!
That's the Palestinians and Israelis that I know and love. Mitt thinks these people are not capable of peace?! They are not capable of WAR! They've been living there side-by-side since before Jesus was born, and with God's help, they will continue to live that way forever!
The American War Machine is the MAIN obstacle in the way of Peace. Let me repeat this: if it was not for America funding extremists in Israel - that most Israeli's try to stay away from - Peace would've been achieved 50 years ago. American subsidies are a private joke in Israel: when we were talking to one another thinking nobody was listening, we were making fun of silly rich Americans who bankroll the entire country of Israel at a drop of a hat: "just tell them Israel must defend herself, wink-wink, ha-ha-ha".
THAT is the Monster America created. Obama sees that monster, and wants to tame it. Mittney is an Oblivious Bubble Boy, who thinks bankrolling Israel will get him a front-row seat in Heaven.
This is your foreign policy framework. Now, tell me again how we need to "show American Strength", LOL.
He just stated out loud what most people think, the Israel/Palestine situation seems hopeless, eventho I hope that one day there will be peace in that region. In fact the more I hear about his so-called "gaffes", the more I think the guy is as honest as a politician can be. Not very diplomatic, but sometimes brutally honest.
You are right. And good post.
Aww poor Pizza Pizza...can't think of ONE solid reason to vote for Romney...
Sad, really...ABO isn't an answer, nor is it a "debate"...
Seems Romney woke up with quite a hangover as well as a black eye this morning, and Ryan is just standing behind him banging on a pot in his ear.
But they're "ABO", right?
Keep on keepin' on my little friend. Hope you have that bag with you today...
AnotherNewVoter. Im sorry i just dont buy into it. The region has hardly been stable regardless of party controlling congress or president. To say Obama recogizes that monster is bogus and now he wants to tame it. quite convenient. The guy hasn't paid much attention to that region. Peace in the Middle East has been a long standing meme.
you clearly like to read through my posts, you go back and look. if it isnt to your standards. boo effing hoo.... figure out why you vote for Obama. Alls good in the world and US eh? PEACE PRIZE
'you're weak and a coward' says sandyklit. LOL what a fool believes..
Mickey what kind of name is that. Malt liquor?

me, i dont even like the ones we're in now.
..double post
When Romney's young relatives enlist in the military and are prepared to fight all the wars he is proposing, then he can have a pass on saber rattling.
Until then he should look at other alternatives. Or is Sheldon too deep in his war chest for him to think other wise.
The one who did the parody on George Orwell. Up with Eurasia. You know. That one.
So, did you think I didn't know this?
Warmongers so seldom actually cite George Orwell for that purpose.
They are much more subtle when they sell the same message because they mean it.
Remember though I come to NBC a.k.a the Ministry of Truth and Peace for all my info.
I don't think it's taking.
AnotherNewVoter-
Thank you so much for your insight (post 1.47). It is quite refreshing to see something here that is actually first-hand observation and experience. It is hard to argue from books.
Some of us here in the USA do understand how big a role our government has played and continues to play. Some do not. Unfortunately, most of us can't use our brains anymore due to the perpetual bombardment of marketing crap telling us what we will believe. Then we do.
Peace-
thetotas
That should make Romney very happy. After all, Russia is our #1 enemy according to Mitt.
But seriously, don't try pinning this one on Obama. It happened because Vladimir Putin has long complained about U.S. democracy and human rights promotion efforts.
Do you have a problem with democracy and human rights, thetotas?
Are you on Putin's side on this one?
OUwhine
it won't happen because according to Mitt, his sons are too busy "being patriotic" by trying to get their father elected. After all, it must be exhausting to fly in private jets, sleeping in 5 star hotels, and eating at 5 star restaurants...
Anna Molly
you say it like it's bad.
LoL Don't be too sure about that.
Aww...isn't that cute...PIZZA PIZZA can look things up on the internets...
So, "caesar"....Romney not to your liking huh...see, if you spent half your time defending your candidate as you did finding reasons to hate President Obama, you'd figure out why you can't support Romney. You simply can't find anything that the man touches to be of valid importance or benefit to this country. Or to you, for that matter. That is a sign of weakness, for you and for Romney. Seems he didn't make a very good CEO either. And he was the last of the Clowns to pile out of the Konservative Klown Kar. You ran the gamut of candidates, supporting each failure in turn until only Mittens was left, and you can't bring yourself to support him because you know he's toxic. He doesn't "represent" you. How could he...he thinks middle-class people make $250,000/yr...do you make $250,000/yr? Do you still have your job? You should be thankful if you do, not hateful...others aren't so lucky, yet you are blinded by disdain for the president.
If you simply aren't happy with your lot in life, do what Ryan/Romney said...change it. Sure, it's easy, right? As easy as snapping your fingers, right?
Sure it is...
So, when your team has nothing to run on, people like yourself attack President Obama. Nobody knows what you stand for "caesar", and it seems you have no idea what you stand for either.
But you're more concerned with "ABO". Huh...really.
This is why emotional and ideological decisions on the part of "conservatives" don't play out well in the real world. This is why the study concluded that conservatism is a mental illness. No thought process, only tunnel vision. The Epic Failure to see the "big picture". Knee-jerk reactions to the important issues. Only emotional and ideological decision-making on your part.
So, just how many times has Ryan/Romney put their collective feet in their mouths this week alone...sad to think about it, isn't it.
But you're all about "ABO", right?
You go right ahead and focus on Nobel Peace Prizes, college transcripts, and birth certificates while the rest of the country passes ingorants like you by.
And you still haven't come up with ONE VALID reason you support a Ryan/Romney ticket...why is that, taxman? Because you know, deep in your heart, that he has no chance at the White House. This election cycle has been an epic failure for the GOP, Conservatives, and teabaggers alike.
But Rah Rah for you, Little Seizure...Rah Rah. Carry that torch high.
And good luck, little man...you're going to need it as you're going to continue to be one unhappy camper.
And he wants to be our leader? Scary. He is ignorant on everything except destroying companies, outsourcing jobs, belittling the poor and just being a complete DA.
LOL what he said is true. The only chance for peace there is for the Jews to be annihilated and their land given to the Arabs or the Arabs and Persians annihilated and their land given to the Jews. Anything else is just wishful thinking.
funny Obama thinks that's what rich people are, are you rich Mickey?
nope just have gov do it for you right. Hey remember the USSR? Im sure you do, how bout Yugoslavia? Not everything is easy. But man up (or girl up). But that is for me to decide not you and your merry band of misfits.
let the incumbent defend his accomplishments. you know he touts those right.
right, so indecision and hangin back to see how things play out. Obama, the tall cool one. Thats the problem lefty, more worried about his Kardashian status. Hangin with Limp the pimp, Jay Z and Flo Rida.
YAWN. you bore me. I have, get off your azz since you spend a good deal of time stalking me and look through my posts. if not go away because your mindless chatter is boring!
the insignificant Peace Prize. Well the guy cant have peace within our politics. I think its pretty important. What a lemming you are. College transcripts and b/cs? Annes horse, tax returns. hypocrisies indeed mouse. The country burns while Obama Lyres. NBC = Animal Farm sheep boy
define valid. How many reasons have you thought of for voting O? Im sure they will all be Valid!
wear that badge proudly.
Mickey. YAWN.
Romney - the other white meat.
TorpedoYou "The first clear use of the term Palestine to refer to the entire area between Phoenicia and Egypt was in 5th century BC Ancient Greece. Herodotus wrote of a 'district of Syria, called Palaistinê' in The Histories, the first historical work clearly defining the region, which included the Judean mountains and the Jordan Rift Valley."
Need to learn something from actual books, ignorant.
Little Seizure, you know what the best line in my post is?
[Nobody knows what you stand for "caesar", and it seems you have no idea what you stand for either.]
And, after all that, everyone STILL doesn't have a clue where you stand...and apparently neither do you.
You had the grand opportunity to stake your claim...to stand your ground, and you blew it just like Romney.
Huh...and you've managed to deflect every one of your answers...why is that? Chock full (note correct spelling and usage of phrase) of emotional and ideological responses, but nothing more.
Congratulations Little Putz...you've jumped the shark AND become insignificant, all in one post. Now take your sack full of ass and high-tail it back to Fox Nation and The Blaze...your seat is getting cold. They LOVE you over there, don't they. So much rage, so little time to express it.
Outside of Fox "news", you are the typical useless hack, except to the GOP. They LOVE brainless twits like you.
Congratulations "caesar", you've won the Nobel Putz Prize...
PUTZ! PUTZ!
Couldn't have said it better myself!
It's time for a standing President to have the ball$ to say "Neither of you are getting Jerusalem, so just forget it!"
Considering the rise in population of Israel over the last 70 or so years it might be a pipe dream by now to negotiate the borders to what they were in the 1940s, but they should come pretty darn close to it at least. Then the ball is in Palestine's court. If they still refuse to agree then we are in the position to tell them "too bad, so sad. Your next offer won't be as nice".
The longer we coddle the Israelis the worse this will get for everyone. We need took take a firm hand and tell them that the more settlements they build the more people their leaders will have to displace later. But no one wants to lose the Jewish vote here in America.
Palestine is probably an area that should have been invaded BEFORE Iraq or Afghanistan. It is the epicenter of the Arab hatred towards the US. If I were a Palestinian who had Israeli soldiers stationed on my rooftops, pissing in my water supply and holding US arms I would probably hate the US too.
How come MSNBC is so biased lately ?
I'm beginning to think that the top people at MSNBC are pushing an agenda rather than reporting the news.
WHAT IS THIS, A NONSTOP POLITICAL AD FOR OBAMA ?
WE CAN'T TRUST YOU GUYS TO REPORT NEWS ANYMORE !
I studied the Palistinian- Israeli conflict for 30 years. I have read the Arabic side as well as the Israeli side. I am a jew with a Palistinian son-in-law. The lies now coming out of Israel are unbelievable. The latest is there never was a palistine and yet it's in the Torah.I have been Spit on and slapped in the face by an 85 year old zionist women because my daughter married this man. I could not have picked a better son-in-law myself. He worships the ground my daughter walks on. His father told me his best friends were Jewish in Jerusalem. He said the problems started when the Polish and Russian Jews came to Israel. He lost his hotel in 1967 when the IDF held guns to his and his wife's head and were told they had to leave. Jews own this hotel now and his father did not receive 1 penny in compensation. It's amazing because he still does not hate the Jews, he very much dislikes the Zionist. Peace to all of Gods children.
The Palestinians have their own nation. Since they have gotten sovereignty, there have been over 7,500 rocket and mortar attacks on Israelite citizens by Palestinian "citizens".
You mean bottle rockets. I have not seen any deaths or property damage from these bottle rockets. I have seen the IDF murder 1400 women and children in Gaza. Israel can only fight unarmed women and children. They got their butts kicked though by freedom fighters in Lebanon.
AnotherNewVoter....thank you for your honest comment. Romney has no sense to know when to shut his mouth. It's like that song..."ya got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" and he should fold already. I have many Palestinian friends that are like family to me, and I find them FAR from wanting war with anyone, so my last words for this post is GO PALESTINE....never give up!
I think Romney is correct on this one, at least for the foreseeable future. The ME is increasingly dominated by a fundamental, militaristic brand of Islam that has no tolerance for non-Muslims. Until this changes, the only viable solution I see is a 2 state solution...but even then, they will never like each other, and there will always be a level of conflict.
Islam isn't the problem...fundamental, militaristic Islam is the problem. Based on the democratically held elections the past several years - it appears most Arabs embrace this form of Islam - so I really don't see much hope for peace in the region. Also, although it's not mentioned much, there is a fundamentalist, militaristic brand of Judaism that is also a contributing factor.
Never were truer words spoken! There will NEVER be peace in the Middle East EVER. Do you know why, because their has NEVER been peace in the Middle East idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And what foreign policy creds did Obama have prior to his election?
Bang the war drum, slowly. Bang softly, then louder day by day, eh Mr. Romney?
Please do not vote for this guy. If you value the lives of your children, please do not vote for him.
We will be knee deep in the mire of the Middle East if he gets his wish.
A show of strength isn't a sign of war. "talk softly and carry a big stick". Quit flying the white flag, you'll be surprised where Obama might stand on this LOL. You had no problems with him supporting Egypt and Libya.
we already are/were. We're still in Afghanastan.
"We will be knee deep in the mire of the Middle East if he gets his wish."
Your phony messiah already has done the damage. Too late.
Caesar: Mitt is not talking about a show of strength. If peace is not possible, he is talking genocide.
Peace will not be easy, it will not happen quickly. However, either we work towards peace, or we work towards genocide ... there is no room between the two.
The President that had the most success? Jimmy Carter, who brokered a deal with Egypt and Israel. Nobody else since has taken the next step, and Romney is saying up front he won't even try.
Steve-2352647
is that because you're using your NBC Mitt Romney decoder ring? zero to ignorant in record time.
Revenge of the Carter's !!!!!
From the "when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail....department:
Perhaps Mitt should stick to insulting the British Olympic Organizing Committees and leave the real negotiations to someone that can at least envision a peaceful solution.
Willard reminds me of them cowboys that use Salsa made in New York city...them fake cowboys that install car alarms on their horses.
He needs to stop shootin blanks in the air and stick to what he's good at...only problem is, there aint nothin he's good at....
While I don't plan to vote for him, Romney is right. The Palestinians don't want peace; they want Israel gone, or at least Hamas does. There's no compromise with that position so long as they hold any power. They've already destroyed Gaza with their militancy.
CA and what "show of strength" would that be? In 500 words or less. Let's see some real specifics in your post! Would that be:
1. American assets on Israeli soil?
2. Boots on the ground in the region?
3. A unilateral American imposed no fly zone over Syria?
4. Boots on the ground in Syria?
5. Violating Tunisia' sovereignty and sending in Marines.
Just what are you and your candidate proposing?
Remember 500 words or less!
I've stated it but you cant dismiss the possibility of a war if necessary. NECESSARY and only under certain condtitions. Not Bush conditions. The world needs to help but we lead the way. I do not advocate boots on the ground. Start with harsher Sanctions but that is just posturing and does nothing as an end result, history shows that. Backing their enemies, even inside has proven more often than not to be egg on the face for the U.S. If necessary in Iran, a pre-emptive bombing. The implications of that would be greater tension with Russia. but again I think we would need most of Europe (Germany, France, UK). Nothing is easy Torp and you know that. its hard to give specifics because the only details we get are from the press. But just so they know we mean business might just be enough to deter any real conflict
don't worry i wont have 3000 pages of nothing
CA everything you have stated in your post is being done by the current administration. One thing I have noticed though is the absence of your support for John McCain's position of establishing a "no fly zone" over Syria.
Frankly I don't get the Russians position since they have a real problem in Chechnya and intermittent problems with Islamic terrorists in Moscow. But that is another discussion. I understand their issues in Syria since they don't want to lose an arms client there.
If Romney believes that peace is unthinkable and it's the fault of one side alone then he is completely unqualified to manage America's foreign relations.
its laughable and you know it. Syrian Migs? posturing.
show me. Obama is pissing on an ally
Hardly pissing on an ally. He refuses to pander and wipe their asses every time they get into a scrape. The President is handling our relationship with Israel just fine, as far as I can see, but there's a limit to how much hand holding we'll do, and Israel knows it, so they push the limits as much as they can get away with.
Mr. Netanyahu has been sabre rattling for years, and he's happy knowing we'll back his sorry ass up when it gets rough.
We've never abandoned Israel and we never will.
Romney's idea of force guarantees continued conflict and a threat to any hope of peace in the region, and once again, he underestimates the Palestinian resolve, because he believes them to be culturally inferior.
Romney is bad for foreign policy, and bad for America.
Zeta, has anyone thought about the situation in Saudi Arabia? If we can't stop Israel from stealing land and we go into Syria and Iran as Israel wants us to, The Saudis will overthrow the 5,000 princes-es and oil will go through the ceiling. We will be paying $5.00 for a loaf of bread. This happened to Germany after WW1. You had to have a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread. History does repeat itself. The Jewish bankers had caused this and that is why the people looked the other way when Hitler started the holocaust. Also Germany wiped England out and they were ready to surrender until the Jewish congress promised England that they could get the US in the war and they would win. The Balfour declarations was given for the Jewish support which started bring Jews to Palestine. Read about the Jewish terror groups that killed the British leaders in Palestine. The stern gang and the ingrun. They blew up the King David Hotel killing innocent people. I am a proud Jew against Zionism. Peace to ALL Gods children.
Parkerjoe56, how dare you repeat libels like "The Jewish Bankers had caused this and that's why people looked the other way when Hitler started the Holocaust." You're trying to blame Jews for the Depression? Or are you blaming Jews for Germany's sad condition after the Treaty of Versailles? "Jewish Congress promised England they would get the US in the war..." which "Jewish Congress" would that be?
You call yourself a Jew and make these statements? You call yourself a Jew and can't even spell Irgun? I'm a callin' BULL@!$%#!!!!!!
Romney's "off-the-cuff" solution was to kick the ball down the field. Now isn't that a great foreign policy strategy!
Jody, I so wish his Dad were still alive to take his lying butt out to the woodshed and whoop some sense into him!
Revenge of the Carter's !!!!!
If Romney had any more Irish heritage he'd be a complete gob@!$%#e.
so the only reason they keep coming to the negotiations is for free food?
Sorry Mittenman, this is a very complicated and emotional process. This isn't one of your Bain takeovers where you can do it over lunch and have the place shuttered the next day. This will take time and cooler heads, and throwing gas on that fire is not productive.
Holy crap, could you imagine this guy in charge of our foreign policy?! Anyone who believes that something as complicated as the peace process is "unthinkable" clearly does not have the creativity or brainpower to take on the job.
I can't imagine you in charge of cleaning a toilet, even that requires thought.
Ouch Dave. I'm bet you heart EngEsq's feelings with that whit
Lol, I meant hurt. You have no heart.
Ok dave, you got me! Wow, I'm reeling from that one. /s
Simply put, Mitt is not someone I trust to deal in foreign policy.
We are between a rock and a hard place. We have Romney on one hand and Obama on the other. I don't think either one is worth spit. Why can't we get some better candidates to choose from? I want to vote but not with these two running.
Romney should be forced to live with a Palestinian family for a year, to share their challenges and see first hand how these people live. It's not that I am anti-Israeli - far from it, I appreciate Israel's security concerns, but I would expect a n American President to have more of a clue than Romney displays. He has such a black and white mind, he sees everything through ideology, he can't think outside the box, or inspire people to resolve problems peaceably.
Amy, since you've lived with a Palestinian family for a year, could you add to the conversation by letting us know how that could affect Romney's assessment of the Palestine/Isreal conflict?
Great idea, Amy, but unfortunately even living in the United States he's clueless of the population here!
Amy, the corollary is that the President should be forced to live with a Northern Israeli family under direct threat from a HAMAS rocket attack. 2 sides to a coin dontcha know! That said, our President needs to have a clearer Middle East Policy. The Republicans on the other hand can only sabre rattle. The President is the lesser of 2 evils in this instance given the turmoil in the region.
except thats not the case, we need to show strength. You dont have to put boots on the ground to show strength. Where were you guys on Libya? You defended Obama's decision there.
so defer to indecision. Where is Obama's stance or is he just hangin back waiting to see what happens? way to lead from the rear.
A lot of you lefties are anti semetic until election time when you pander for their votes but Isreal is our ally and probably the only real one they have. You'll support Libya though. They hated us then, they hate us now. Now that is Foreign policy.
yea i dont think the two will ever sort out a peace deal. Nothing mitt said was untrue and yea hes right even though it may not be politically acceptable to state the obvious.
@Dave and Caesar
I echo Amy's comments - and I did live in Israel. Not in a Palestinian family as I had my own family, but literally next to Palestinians: I lived in Tel Aviv, and Jaffo - which is a part of Tel Aviv, if you wish, or blended with it - is a home to a Palestinian majority.
Sorry, but all that writing and copying and phoney ID's just proves the opposite.
Those Palestinians who want coexistence have no representation on the West Bank and Gaza and little political influence. The PROBLEM is Hamas and it's alliance with Iran and Hezzbullah. They - with the guns and political control hate the US and democracy as much as they hate Israel.
Kebobs will not solve THAT problem.
"Obama sees that monster, and wants to tame it."
Right. That's why the Moslem Brotherhood now controls Egypt and the entire arab-muslim world is ablaze with violent hatred.Obama's doing a bang up job of "taming".
Meanwhile, despite your vast experience in the mid east you never noticed the phenominal amount of hate speech and programming pouring forth from the arab-muslim media 24/7-365.
Jeez, where's the programming from your peace loving felafel sellers?? LOL! They KNOW better.Anyone who takes on the violent, radical freaks who dominate their politics is risking death.
Mike are you a paid shill here spreading hasbara. Did you know that Israel spends 46 million a year to change public opinion on the net. Everyone please, please read " If Americans Only Knew" to get the truth about Israel. There's only 2% jews in the US but 35% of congress is Jewish. The state department is totally controlled by American Israeli citizens only loyal to Israel. Palestinians die everyday at the hands of the Israeli's and it's mostly women and children. Look on you tube to see these zionist spit on the priest or how the settlers hate Arabs with every bone in their body. I AM A JEW AGAINST ZIONISM. Stop these thieves and murders.
That amounts to a non response. In other words, you sound like a propagandist desperate to change the subject.
The arab and muslim media is over flowing with racist, hateful programming, articles, speeches, newspaper cartoons - every day - for decades.Just look up "arab cartoons" on the web and see the hate spill forth. And they are truly equal opportunity haters. Not just the US and Israel.Christian Copts,Bahai's,Kurds,Hindus,Bhuddists,Indian Siekhs...name it...they hate it...including their own people.Sunni hates Shiite and both hate Sufi's,considered heretics because they're tolerant and allow men and women to socialize and pray together.
And that's why the vast majority of political violence in the muslim world is perpetrated by other muslims.
And you will never find anything remotely similar in the western press, including the US and Israel.
Mitt Romney is exactly right in his assessments, both in how political campaign resources have to be spent relative to his positions as a candidate, as well as the issues in the Middle East. Nothing but facts are being used to support the former, and his relationship with the Israeli Prime Minister reinforce the latter. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who cannot think for themselves, and I've read enough trashy comments here to support that view, too.
Sucks to be you Dave. Having to live in a blue state and all.
Why? The Red States are the ones with all the "leeches". Haven't you heard?
Cuz Dave longs to be red.
Dave, you people in western NY need to get yourselves to a Mormon church and get some magic underwear.
Earnest, the red/blue state thing isn't an interest of mine, but if Obama were a potato and Romney an unclaimed winning Powerball ticket, New York would still vote for Obama. I know a lot of people who are hard working, or who want to work and cannot, or who are retired, and if I disagree with them politically, as long as they present a good, respectful argument, I'll listen and try to learn something - try to see it from their point of view. This "secret tape" thing, though, is campaign trash at its worst, because I understand what Romney is saying and the forum in which he's saying it and it just isn't what it is purported to be in the "media". Thanks for your replies.
Dave, Karl Rove would never do anything like that now would he?
Besides, doesn't Robme want the voters to see his personal side?
Why do I feel like Spanky all of a sudden?
With foreign and domestic policies securely in place, the increasingly popular challenger moves confidently ahead...
You post some incredibly funny one-liners dangerfield! :)
No wonder Netanyahu wants us all to vote for Romney....this is the scariest, saddest thing I've ever heard.
Gee, Sue, Netanyahu is lucky indeed to have a staff mind-reader like you. From everything I have heard him say, he is in communication and coopration with Obama.
However, it is certainly true that many Palestinians and other Arabs have called for Israel's complete destruction, just as Romney said.
Netanyahu wants to be kept out of the U.S. election.
Actually, it's the Arab extremists that want us to vote for Romney. In order to keep things stirred up over there, they need this kind of idiotic, unsure, fatalistic, knee jerk Republican president in office. They're missing George W. Bush already.......the terrorists felt safe with Bush in charge of the "Great Satan". Romney has already proved he'll be an even bigger pushover...
Yes,that explains it all.And the fact that Obama has done to Egypt precisely what Carter did with Iran - producing almost identical results - that's all a wild coincidence.
Maybe, just maybe Obama could have stood up for free speech instead of apologizing for it.
And maybe demonstrate the good sense and backbone to point out the phenominal amount of hate speech and programming pouring forth from the arab-muslim media 24/7-365.It's been going on for decades.Obviously,THAT is the problem, not american policy and certainly not that cheeseball video.
So every presidential candidate since 1952 have supported some kind of a peace there but now the reichwing has dropped any notion of being peacemakers...I'll be damned if my grnadsons are going to be killed defending any theocracy and that is what Israel is...a fundamentalist jewish theocracy...
Aye Rick, I mean where is thier "personal responsibility".
And we have the Christian Taliban here trying to make the US a theocracy.
@Rick - News Flash!!! ALL the Arab states and Iran are Fundamentalist Theocracies. ( But since that's not Juish/Christian, that's just fine, right?)
@Darthdon - WTF are you trying to say?
Thank you Rick. Can't everyone on here see the Israeli shills telling lie after lie to try and change public opinion? Cassandra Is your typical Israeli shill on here trying to make Israel the victim. My God they have over 200 nuclear weapons. Look at the maps of Israel in 1949 and the maps of it today. They have stolen all their land against international law and the Geneva convention. Wake up Americans, Israel owns you. Why do you think Netanyhoo wants Rommney so bad?
Those who are scaring us with Israel "owning us" , call Israel a theocracy and talk about conservatives turning USA into a theocracy as if it's realistic, all while they are perfectly in peace with dozens of Islamic theocracies out there, have to be one of three things: islamist, antisemitic or extremely stupid. Those are the only explanations available.
Romney is just showing--AGAIN--what a shallow, disingenuous fraud he is. If the Palestinians get their state, I very much doubt that they or anyone associated with them will want weapons from Iran. To do what? You don't spend decades scratching to get a state and then turn around and start hostilities again. That's cynical, absurd anti-Palestinian bias. More to the point, Romney made these comments at a fundraiser, so I assume that he was telling some wealthy pro-Israel hawks what they want to heae--which is what he's been doing for months to get Jews like Adelson--that fat casino mogul---to pony up a few million for him. Don't tell people that the Palestinians don't want peace: They want it a helluva lot more than Netanyahu, who hates Arabs and simply wants to steal all the Palestinian land that hasn't yet been stolen--systematically--by Israel. The reason we don't have a peace treat is because all the christians and conservative saps are lapdogs for the Israel far right and too stupid to realize how beneficial to America a peace settlement would be. A Palestinian state would defuse MOST of the long-simmering tension in the Middle and defuse a lot of the anti-American bias--but conservative idiots in Congress and christian blockheads like to pretend the Palestinians are the problem. The United States should have forced a settlement on both side a long time ago. Had we, the twin towers would probably still be standing.
"you doubt".
Based on total ignorance obviously.Hamas and Hezzbullah are CLIENTS of Iran. They are armed by them and take orders from them. That's the world as it is rather than the world as you imagine it.
Try studying the world as it is for a while. It'll improve the quality of your imagination.
Here's the whole video...
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/watch-full-secret-video-private-romney-fundraiser
Mittens is following the advice of that fanatical Zionist policy maker Nuttyyahoo, who is totally against giving the Palestinians any voice or choice or chance of change in the Middle East. Nuttyyahoo is content to keep the Palestinians under Zionist oppression and terror as long as possible, all with the complete blessing of Mittens.
Romney, unfit and unworthy of the Presidency of the United States. Beating the war drums, no Americans fitted for body bags.
Obama 2012
The real reason Palestinian don't want peace is because they have nothing to lose at this point by going all out against Israel, but everything to gain by decimating Israel. You give them a state they can hang on to, prosper and live within then they'll think twice about hell-bent on destroying another country that will mean their ends as well. Right now they are thinking that being martyred by Israeli is their only legacy, then that will be the only course.
Romney is right, but he can't think deep enough beyond empowering the business contracts he want to make the military to do to destroy Palestine.
And Mittens steps in it AGAIN! EPIC FAIL! LOL
Behind every truth, there is a lie. How I am interpreting his views, thus far in this 'Romney-gate' situation, is really dangerous for our country. Talking about '...forcing peace upon them." C'mon, seriously. I do not want that type of garbage in the WH, and not for nothing, he still HAS NOT LAID OUT A JOBS PLAN, but he's ready go to war, over what? I get the point re Iran and the clerics (not just the president over there) creating a nuclear bomb, which is clear since George W. was in office. But Romney is NOT what we need as POTUS; he will be the one that will put us in the Great Depression.
Romney's the one to create a revolution in our OWN country or a civil war IF he wins. Maybe it's time for the people to FINALLY show the politicians who they REALLY work for and should defend! And it ain't big money, overseas jobs, and it damn sure ain't Israel!
That's it. He forgot the perspective #2.
There are two kinds of people in this world - those that can't count.
that is funny
Just listening to his little speech, apparently his "2nd perspective" is to have a separate Palestinian state, which he promptly disparaged as unworkable and unsafe, and therefore unacceptable to him.
No wonder he has no interest in achieving peace in the middle east. Mitt's plan is to do nothing but verbally support Israel (verbally, he'll probably cut foreign aid) and boost spending on military contractors.
When one looks at the Nobel Peace prizes awarded for incremental peace efforts in the Middle East, one realizes just how arduous and hopeless the situation is. It is as if the Middle East exists solely for the purpose of perpetual peace plans and negotiations.
I have a better US plan for the Middle East: disengagement by the US. Close our embassies in the middle eastern countries where the governments can't or won't protect them, and in return close their embassies in the US. No more visas for people from those countries, no more foreign aid, and no more access to US markets for their goods and services. Wait 10 years before even thinking about re-establishing contact. Repeat as necessary.
And China and Russia will step in to fill the void we leave....that will help!
Mitt, if it's too hard a job for you to even try to do...why are you running for president....besides to help the millionaires to become billionaires.
Nobody but hardline Jews cares about biblical claims to Palestine. It is myth and nonsense. Perhaps we should give America back to the Indians or whoever was here before the Indians. The Palestinians were on the land taken for Israel. The rational way to defuse conflict in the Middle East is to create a fair state for Palestinians. If right-wing Israelis and Jews don't want to do that, then they can figure on fighting terrorism and hostility from Arabs for many decades to come--and they can figure on being criticized for running an Apartheid regime in the West Bank and Gaza, which is what they are.
Mormons believe American Indians are decendents of the 10 lost tribes of Israel so Mitt must also believe it to be true. So I guess that would be giving America to Israel, them being the predecessors of Indians...according to Mitt.
War profiteers are all about the profit regardless of who all dies or is afflicted by war. There are men, if we can call them that, out there that are all about themselves, their close friends and relatives and anything beyond that short scope is merely part of doing business.
There was some guy selling night vision goggles to the military whom was quoted as saying "He was hanging with the wrong crowd" after he was told by one of his employees that his kin had been shot. Then when the employee clarified how his brother was shot and under what circumstances meaning he's a US Army soldier whom was shot by a sniper in Iraq while fighting for our country, this jackass of a man replied yet again "He was hanging with the wrong crowd", both times laughingly joking about it. Anyone, I say again, anyone who has family and friends or who is a real patriot would balk at such remarks. But for a person such as that employee, having to hear this from his war profiteering boss was just too much, he let them know what he thought and told them where to shove their job.
I suspect that Romney is the same type of 'man', I quote the word man because I'm actually straining on the idea of calling this fellow a man of any state nor stature. Same thing with the war profiteer who said an Army soldier shot while actively answering the call-of-duty was simply "Hanging with the wrong crowd". It really is sickening to see that many heavy hitters in our country are so ignorant and asinine when it comes to life and reality as it portrays to our country and our way of life.
Any idiot can make money, but it takes a certain type of character and man to create wealth and keep his morals in check while doing it.
Dave Rhomberg @ US Night Vision is that man with the sickening comments in case you'd like to know. And yes, he can totally come a knocking with slander lawsuits, I am so ready to publicly shame him in the court of law for all to see. I think about this everyday, I cannot fathom how this can be, it has had a terribly negative impact upon my life, mentality, career and overall physche. Would it not do you the same to hear such insolent comments coming from someone you thought so highly of? It makes my stomach churn. Now if you value your country and freedom I'd say tell everyone and their mothers that dealing with US Night Vision or David (Dave) Rhomberg is anti-American. For we all know we don't want our soldiers to die "Hanging with the wrong crowd" and in this case, US Night Vision being the wrong crowd especially since its profits are being shared with the coward David (Dave) Rhomberg.
Um, do you think Israelis know that Mormon's believe that Native Americans are decendents of the 10 lost tribes of Israel? This is fact - I am not making this up. It is in the Book of Mormon. Do Native Americans know that Mitt Romney believes they are jews? This is what the Book of Mormon teaches.
Seriously, people need to look into what Mormon's believe. It isn't Christianity. Not that Christianity is sane either, but Mormonism was invented in the mid-19th century by a pedophile egomaniac snake oil salesman. Look it up people.
they are a cult , a friendly cult but a cult none the less . still you must remember that one mans religion is another mans belly laugh . and also as religions go theirs is no where near the worst .
Another interesting Mormon doctrine is that they will someday build a Mormon Temple in Jerusalem, and that is where Jesus will return to. I don't know if Netanyaho knows about that, but if he does you can be sure he'd use it in the event of a Romney Presidency, dangle the lure of a building permit to get favors.
As a registered republican I am sick to my stomach with Romney and his running mate!
I would gladly pay you to have a camera on and filming, and puke on both of them after you say that to their faces!! OBAMA 2012!!!! And thanks for bein' a Republican with some common sense!!!
all of the presidents have wanted to have in their legacy " peace in the middle east " , how many have achieved it ? maybe that creepy little peanut farmer from georgia sort of got a concession or two , that is all . that is probably going to stand as a record . even if the muslim horde were to wipe israel from the face of the earth there would still not be peace because shia still would be killed by sunni and the wahhabi would still foment hatred and war against the west or anyone else . does anyone really think that iran would not use homegrown or purchased nuclear weapons against america ? a sword in one hand and the koran in the other .
First of all, Carter was and is a gentleman, not "creepy" and not "little", a perjorative term, just like your "creepy". The rest of your analysis is "creepy". No, I don't believe in anything you said, so as "anyone", I don't believe or trust the "judgment" you don't have.
By the way, as a "mercenary" by definition you are venal and corrupt.
No,I'll agree with "creep".Carter was a weak knee'd,mealy-mouthed President who blamed the american people for his own failures while making nice to the Ayatollah Khomeini - with great results.Today he is an apologist for those who hate america and is silent in the face of the phenominal hatred spread through the arab-muslim media - 24/7-365.For him the Israeli Democracy is the real problem.
He is respected niether by his adversaries nor his allies who view him as nothing more than a useful idiot........
Mercenary, you are so full of it. Carter would have had peace if it weren't for the radical zionist that assasinated Rabin. They named a street after that assasin in Tel Aviv.I for the life of me can't understand how the CIA, the Mossad and many other agency's say Iran is not building a bomb. How are you so educated on Islam because everything you said is a total lie. GOD hates liars.
The guys who killed Rabin is in jail, and no one is naming streets after him.
What was that about G-d hating liars?
There is hardly anything admirable about Mormon doctrine and actions. Extremely racist, clickish, sexist, secretive cultish "religion". It more resembles a corporation in practice. BTW, I live in western mormon country. It is difficult to be fond of them and their brand of persecution and shunning and better-than-thou goodness. Oh, and their money grubbing greed...can't forget that one!
The President ("Prophet") of the LDS Church will be the real ruler of the nation if this clown is elected. Mo Mo theology teaches that the "King" must answer to the "Prophet." Imagine that.
Mo Mo's: This is where you defend your cult with more lies, half-truths, and other all-too-predictable distortions of the facts about your cult.
I had rather have the LDS run things than Muslims (which is what we get if Obologona is reelected).
