NBC/WSJ poll: Optimism in Obama presidency increases

The percentage of voters believing that the country is better off since Barack Obama became president jumped seven points after the two political conventions, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Thirty-eight percent of registered voters now say the nation is better off, which is up from 31 percent in the August NBC/WSJ poll conducted before the conventions.

Still, a plurality of voters -- 41 percent -- believe the country is worse off, while 21 percent think it's in the same place.

"Are you better off than you were four years ago?" has been a question that Republicans raised right before the Democratic convention began earlier this month. And top officials and surrogates from the Obama campaign had a difficult time, initially, answering the question.

The release of a surreptitiously taped Romney fundraiser yesterday added to a tough few weeks for Mitt Romney that included Clint Eastwood's appearance at the RNC and President Obama's post-convention bump in the polls. As NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro discuss, with 49 days until Election Day, Romney's destiny may be out of his control.

But in his convention address the day before Obama's acceptance speech, former President Bill Clinton answered the question affirmatively. “No president -- not me or any of my predecessors -- could have repaired all the damage in just four years. But conditions are improving, and if you'll renew the president's contract you will feel it.”

And the Obama campaign followed up with a new TV ad -- on the fourth anniversary of Lehman Brothers' collapse -- also making the case that the country is better off.

The new NBC/WSJ poll asks a separate question: Which candidate -- Obama or Mitt Romney -- is better prepared to lead the country four years from now? On this question, 47 percent of voters pick the president, while 36 percent choose Romney.

The full NBC/WSJ poll -- which was taken of 900 registered voters (270 by cell phone) from Sept. 12-16 and which has an overall margin of error of plus-minus 3.3 percentage points -- will be released at 6:30 pm ET.

That release will include the poll's initial look at the presidential contest among likely voters.

This is the bottom line. Mitt Romney believes working people don't pay enough taxes. What he said on that tape is how he governed here in MA. What he said on that tape is how he felt about us here in MA.

And now we see he feels that way about half the country. The questioner was asking: how can we get more money out of the working classes and poor.

Raise fees and taxes from people who can least afford it.

The person asking the question didn't ask Mitt where HIS tax returns were. The person asking the question didn't ask Mitt where he hid his money. The person asking the question wanted to know how to handle the free loaders. In other words, the retirees, those on social security, those with minimum wage jobs, veterans, etc.

Gee looking at a % that is only 38% think we are better now is not a majority. However, 2 people can look at the same statistics and come up with answers that are 180 degrees opposite each other. I do not see 38% as a number that scores high in that category because if we are better now than 4 years ago, I am missing the rationale.

A 38% score on any test does not rate as a passing grade. Too bad NBC is calling this good.

Yes you white male with high school degree, yes you stay at home mom, yes you senior on social security, yes you military service member...

Optimism in Obama Presidency Increases-

Who would have thought Romney and the 1% would have declared class warfare on the 99%???

Nothing so stupid has been said since Marie Antoinette said, "The peasants have no bread? Let them eat cake".

THE “ELEGANTLY STATED” VERSION OF Mitt “R-money’s” REMARKS:

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the President Obama no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, 1.5 million who are the deadbeat families of active duty military and pay no federal income taxes, 62 million who are Social Security recipients that have worked their whole life, and now want a “free ride” in retirement, 14 million with disabilities who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are somehow victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for their pathetic disabled lives, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. That's an entitlement. And they foolishly hope that people should in some way, help them. And they will vote for Obama no matter what.”

Romney added: "My job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their shiftless, worthless, lives. What I have to do is convince the 5-10 percent of people who are wealthy like me, that are also selfish, that look at voting one way or the other depending upon, in some cases, emotion, whether they like Mitt Romney or not. Getting those emotional voters to vote GOP, getting them scared and selfish, is what this campaign is about."

“I happen to believe instead in a corporate welfare society, where my contributors, pursuing their insatiable greed, are able to employ others at Chinese labor rates of .33/day, hide their wealth overseas, and make themselves fabulously rich so that they can continue to contribute to my campaign."

** Who are the 47% Romney was talking about?**

"The New York Times’ David Brooks may very well have the best take on the Romney video from yesterday.

In a column entitled “Thurston Howell Romney,” Brooks writes, “The people who receive the disproportionate share of government spending are not big-government lovers.

They are Republicans. They are senior citizens. They are white men with high school degrees. As Bill Galston of the Brookings Institution has noted, the people who have benefited from the entitlements explosion are middle-class workers, more so than the dependent poor.” Brooks concludes with this biting line, “Personally, I think he’s a kind, decent man who says stupid things because he is pretending to be something he is not — some sort of cartoonish government-hater. But it scarcely matters.

He’s running a depressingly inept presidential campaign.” Indeed, while nearly 47% of the country doesn’t pay federal income taxes, many of these folks DO pay payroll, state, and local taxes. What’s more, a lot of them are seniors, and most of them would never describe themselves as dependent on government even if they were"

“No president -- not me or any of my predecessors -- could have repaired all the damage in just four years.

True, but this is the worst recovery since the Great Depression - "any" and all of Clinton's predecessors did better than Barry (eh .... except one, Carter was probably as inept as Obama).

But conditions are improving,

Really?

After 3 1/2 years and $5 trillion of new debt, has unemployment improved below the point that the Obama team said it would not reach?

Hasn't the middle class lost 38% of its wealth under Obama?

Hasn't the median middle class income dropped $4,000 a year under Obama .... a drop more than the actual recession?

Aren't there more on government assistance ... record number on food stamps ... record number moved to ranks of the poor?

and if you'll renew the president's contract you will feel it.”

Yeah Billy, we'll feel it ... and as you told Brodrick ... we'll need to "put ice on that."

Jack in Jax - First off this isn't a test??? This is what is great about numbers - see (41%) less than half the country thinks we are worse off than 4 years ago. (52%) or more than half say we are either the same or better off than 4 years ago. This pretty much falls along party lines. Republicans are trying to scare people into think that the country is worse off when it is actually doing better. (Stock Market and 401K's Increasing, 30 consecutive months of continued Job Growth.)

Notice I said country on individuals. For Individuals to be doing better we need the Congress to get off their butts and get back to work passing the Jobs bill that President Obama sent to them over a year ago and make the necessary budget decisions including raising taxes on the top 1% and reducing spending at the same time. Lets get back to work Congress -

38% are so uninformed as to say we are better off? 43 straight months of 8+% unemployment. Worst economic recovery after a recession in U.S. history. Now 1 in 7 on Food Stamps (highest percent since the program was started), 1 in 6 in Poverty (highest percent since the "war on poverty" was started during the Johnson administration), lowest labor participation rate since the 80's, most unemployed for 6 months or more since the Great Depression, AND almost $6 Trillion in new debt.

Clearly not "better off" and and least 62% of country are intelligent enough to see that. Boy, if the LAST 4 years are "better off" I really worry what the NEXT 4 years will look like if Obama is elected.........

When posed with the choice between a sitting president who has been turning the huge ship of state into a safer, more productive direction and a selfish, wealthy dim bulb who is contemptuous of the American people, it isn't too surprising that the polls are going to reflect the rational decision of the voters to support our president.

"(Obama) says we need more fireman, more policemen, more teachers. Did he not get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It's time for us to cut back on government and help the American people!" —Mitt Romney at a campaign event in Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 8, 2012

"Well, there are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government..." —Mitt Romney, in leaked comments from a fundraiser in May 2012

President Obama in November! He is clearly our only rational choice!

Seven weeks is an eternity in a presidential campaign and President Obama's reelection is far from guaranteed. However I wonder what the elected republicans will do in that eventuality? Will they once again convene on January 20, 2013 to re-up their strategy of opposing absolutely everything Mr. Obama proposes or supports? Perhaps this is their implied threat to the electorate. Is their fierce ideology more important than their facade of love of country?

Grover: Before you get the "thrill up your leg" like Chris Matthews just a couple points to remember. First, polls are only as good as the companies providing. Second, we are still almost two months away from the election so polls right now are irrelevant. I believe John McCain was up by 8 points at this time in 2008 against Obama and we see how THAT turned out. Third, we have not even had ONE debate yet.

You can continue to get all excited but let's even assume the current polls are valid (and for the most part I agree they are) for an incumbent president to be up by less that 3% is pitiful. An incumbent should be up a minimum of 6% and closer to 10% before the first debate. For Obama to be up only 2.9% on average should scare the beejeejus out of Democrats.

I was hoping just prior to the first debate that Mitt would be within 6% to 8%. Mitt being within the margin of error and Obama only holding a 2.9% average lead really energizes the Republicans. We couldn't have HOPED for a better position going into the first debate. This is going to be a very interesting election..............

See since Romney made his money VIA dividends he really bypassed working for his money. Daddy gave it to him. Remember the silver spoon GAFF. Now he calls the middle class. 47% both Republicans and Democrats Freeloaders and lazy wanting to pay no taxes and entitled?

And some still support this Guy. He is not even close to being a true Republican. He showed on Video what he thinks of 47% of Americans who would vote for Obama. And also shows he thinks that nearly HALF of our Citizens are lazy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Insurance_Contributions_Act_tax

And he stated that all he needs to do is convince the ten percent that are thinking people. So does that mean the other 33%. Of our citizens DON'T THINK? Or just that 33% cant think? Because we are beneath him?

Any way we slice it He just dissed a huge chunk of our Nations citizens as either stupid. Lazy or that they feel entitled. Ron Paul would have been a better choice for the republican party. This guy makes G.W. look like a rocket Scientist. You cant think so lowly of 90% of America and think that 10% of thinking people will vote for you.

The emails, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act requestand published by The Daily Caller, often show department public affairs chief Tracy Schmaler communicating with Media Matters bloggers. Sometimes, the emails were in response to inquiries. Other times, Schmaler was pitching ideas, according to the Caller.

Wow is the Obama administration manipulating the media with tax payer money?

Pat Boston, M.A.-

Lets see. If there are 50,000,000 workers who pay no Federal Income taxes, then raising their tax $100 each produces $5,000,000,000 (or $5 billion)in additional tax revenue. If there are 2,000,000 rich, then we would need to raise each of their tax bills by $2,500 each to raise the same amount. Lets do both. That way we would actually raise $10 billions which will keep the government running for another DAY! Whoa, perhaps we simply spend too much (much of it going to the welfare state). But tax the rich all you want while leaving those who pay nothing. It will not make enough of a difference to matter. Tax the rich an additional $250,000 each annually which will produce a mere $500,000,000,000 (or 1/2 a trillion). We still sink another $1 trillion into debt each year. Of course if the "rich" are defined as those making over $250,000 a year, we have an "arithmetic" problem as Bill Clinton would say. We certainly do. It is impossible to not expect something from the 50 percent that pay no Federal income tax.

Simple arithmetic.

Let me see if I get this straight:

Less than 4 out of 10 Americans believe that their respective living situation is better today than it was 4-years ago, and somehow that is an endorsement of the job President Obama has done to date?

I guess I need to get out my college economics and algebra textbooks on this one - because I must have missed something when I studied back in the late 70's!!!

Most of the "reliable" polls that I see have Obama and Romney within 3-points with a margin of error of +3-points, which as I understand it means that they are basically in a "dead-heat". How can an incumbent POTUS feel comfortable being in a "dead-heat" at this point in the campaign? If his policies were working, wouldn't / shouldn't his numbers be +10-14-points or better???

Want "Hope" & "Change"? Change your believe in the two-party cesspool system and Hope that honest Americans begins to consider "REAL" Independent LEADERSHIP soon!!!

pay no attention to sally Irish, that same speech was nothing but Government made it happen with one little blurb at the end that mentions in passing individualism.

Sally is also the same person that thinks that since Obama's father fought in Kenya against the british that Obama is a decendant of great Patriots.

These posters on the hard left want you to explain why you would vote for Romney, but I challenge them to tell me why they would vote for Obama based on his record.

Great speeches are nice but empty words are empty words.

What did Obama get a Peace Prize for again?

That improvement and the Romney "foot in mouth" comment that he doesn't care about half the American population says Obama Nov. 7th. My mom is in her 90's and in a nursing home. She pays no taxes and after working 50years at her job I guess she can be swept under the rug by the B-word Romney.

I agree we need a third party that could actually stand up to the other two. And make some sweeping changes. But for at least this election campaign we have to choose from the lesser of two evils. I think it is Obama. Mitt R. Was a very bad choice for the Republican party. Ron Paul would have been better. And might have got my vote over Obama. But not Mitt.

WOW! Here we have what Mittens and the GOP think of working-class America. This man is talking about working class American, single WORKING Moms with children who after credits and deductions pay no federal taxes -- never mind every other form of tax they pay. I think it's safe to say the GOP have totally lost their minds and Romney is perhaps of less intelligence than any presidential candidate in recent memory. He is wrong here on so many levels that it defies credibility. And don't forget, middle-class is 200K to 250K per year in his world. The GOP continue to argue wiht an empty chair absent facts or logic...

Am I better off now than 4 years ago? Absolutely!

Four years ago the economy was in free fall and we could not see the ground. We have now had 30 months of growth in spite of the extortion and filibusters of the party over country republicons.

Four years ago the value of both my house and 401 had dropped by over half. Both have recovered.

OBL is dead. Mission Accomplished.

Why did this happen? Because there is a Democrat in the White House.

Gotta hand it to you stupid progressive/communists your organized. Sad fact is this country will never submit to progressive/communist ideals. Progressives/communists were stamped out for many years because people realized what a train wreck it is. They had to hijack the name Liberal from Libertrarians to be somewhat accepted. Now its back to prgogressive because everyone that knew better back then has died. When that became a bad word they were forced to change again. Time to bring back McCarthy and J. Hey Grover - why is it that liberals like YOU conviently forget that Obama's greatest supporter is GE and they paid no corporate taxes either and shipped jobs overseas? Why is it that you guys always throw stones from your glass houses? At least Romney, when he was with Bain, did what he was HIRED to do. Not something that can be said for the current sitting president. And, if Obama keeps letting Bernacke provide more stimulus to the ecomony, which is clearly NOT helping with the employment numbers, we'll all be paying over $5 a gallon for gas and $5 for a loaf of bread. Do you think the middle class, seniors, unemployed, etc. are being helped by this sitting President? If you do then it's time to get your head out of your a$$.

If Romney currently lives off capitol gains income, then I bet he is better off today than he was 4 years ago. That's probably one of the reasons why he won't show his taxes. He doesn't want us to see how his portfollio has doubled since Obama took office. Also, he doesn't want the mormon church to know how he has been stiffing them of their full 10% of his income.

“I didn’t leave the Republican Party – it left me,” Mr.
Crist told the Democratic faithful gathered at the convention Thursday night.
“Then again, as my friend Jeb Bush recently noted that, Reagan himself would
have been too moderate and too reasonable for today’s GOP.”

In his remarks, the party-switching former Florida
governor lauded Mr. Obama for his swift response to the financial crisis and
accused the Republican nominee Mitt Romney and his running mate
Rep. Paul Ryan of practicing an unyielding brand of partisan
politics that would make it impossible to revive the economy.

“They’re beholden to ‘my way or the highway’ bullies,
indebted to billionaires who bankroll ads and allergic to the idea of
compromise,” Mr. Crist said. “Ronald Reagan would not have stood for that.
Barack Obama does not stand for that. You and I won’t stand for
that.”

38% are so uninformed as to say we are better off?

The question asked was "Are you better off" so you are telling me you know the lives of those 38%, better than they do?

I can definitely say I am better off, I was under employed working two jobs, my husband's company had just shut down. We were on the verge of losing everything. So yeah, working 1 job for twice the amount as both of the other jobs put together, and my husband has had steady employment for 2 years, definitely puts in the the better off category.

Read into it what you want. Its amazing how some of you twist his words around. He is not saying he doesn't care. He was saying he can't convince them. That is much different than saying I don't care. We can go tit for tat on some of the other stuff that Obama has said and done to us already.

We are over 16 trillion in debt, 23 million people plus unemployed, more people than ever are on some sort of govt. program because of this economy. Yes we need help and that help won't be sustained by the government giving to us. I might recommend to you to study what the Mormon belief is. Then you will understand his comment.

For we believe in self government. That is we govern our selves and take personal responsibility for our selves our actions. We are responsible for our own living through the gifts endowed to us by our creator. We don't rely on man to take care of us other than we believe in the words of the Lord to take care of poor, the orphan, and the strangers within your gates. That means to take care of those around you. How is that suppose to be.

Well by the giving beyond your own tithes to the Church to help in human service to all mankind. We do not run down another belief nor come against those who believe different. It is not in the Spirit of the Lord to argue. That is why you don't see a man who comes out and is loud and proud. He walks with a humble spirit.

Yet many of you rail against a man you know nothing about. You only know what the Liberal, Middle, Conservative Press tells you to think and believe. You might want to walk in a Mormon's shoes or get to know one before you pass judgement on one. Coming from one who persecuted the Mormon believers in my own state for many years. Till one day the LORD used a young Mormon man to save my life and get me back on track to a better life and cleaner life without all the stuff from the old.

Yes I am a Jew by blood, I followed for many years the supposed Christian ways and saw stuff that dismayed me. Then I met people who really do care and not just because they have to or should. Because they want to and love to help people out.

I know in my heart that Romney will make this Nation a better place for all. He led the most liberal State in the Union and worked with all people in his state. Why? Because be believes he is a servant to all the citizens of this nation. Yes he can't convince all to take there role to self govern their lives. Yet he can be an example of how to become.

What bugs you about them , because he has never used a drug, drank, or cheated on his wife of 40 years, or that he has stayed the course through all trials of life and blessings. Believe what you want. He's right many of you he won't convince to vote for him. Well I know he will turn this nation around and it will be that Shining Light on the Hill for all to see from afar away.

Twenty Seven "Forward" and "Betting on America" reasons Progressives will vote to re-elect Mr. Obama (domestic issues only):

1. Had the most transparent administration in history (most notable: ObamaCare, "Fast and Furious", and White House visitor logs).

2. Ensured all legislation was put on CSPAN for 5 days prior to signing.

3. Cut the National deficit in half his 1st year in office.

4. Signed legislation to implement the Simpson-Bowles (Obama's deficit commission) Deficit Plan which will cut $ 4,000,000,000,000 from the deficit over the next ten years.

5. Ensured the "National Deficit Super Committee" made the right choice by not compromising which resulted in NO ACTION but required budget cuts to all government agencies across the board with emphasis on gutting the DOD.

6. Vetoed ALL legislation which had pork barrel spending embedded.

7. Consolidated, or combined, duplicate Federal Agencies and eliminated Fraud, Waste, and Abuse in ALL government agencies (except for White House staff, GSA, IRS, DHS, DOE, HUD, Agriculture, Commerce, Interior, and Labor).

8. Did not receive any campaign funds from any special interest groups.

9. Did not appointment any Ex-Wall Street "Fat Cats" to his administration.

10. Signed comprehensive Immigration Reform legislation during his 2nd year in office.

11. Signed comprehensive Health Care "Tax" Reform legislation during his 2nd year in office.

12. Stimulated the economy with his Stimulus Package by keeping unemployment at or below 8% and subsequently reduced to 5% during his 3rd year in office.

13. Put America on the path for "Go Green" energy by providing taxpayer funding to Solyndra, Abound, Beacon, First Solar, Cash for Clunkers, Cash for Appliances, Weatherization Program, Electric Vehicle Finnish Company (Fisker), Ener1 Battery Company, and Geothermal Plant in Nevada.

14. Put America on the path for energy independence by giving billions of taxpayer dollars to Venezuela for off shore drilling, curtailing natural resource(s) extraction, and stalling the Keystone pipeline.

15. Stopped Climate Change dead in it's tracks by eliminating CO2 emissions through DOE Cap and Trade regulations, terminating most coal mine operations, and dismantling coal fired electrical plants.

16. Stopped the housing foreclosure crisis by providing homeowners with HAMP #1, #2, and #3 and directing Fannie and Freddie to "sell" their toxic assets to banks.

17. Prosecuted Wall Street "Fat Cats" for illegal financial manipulations (except for MF Global and Goldman Sachs).

18. Completely secured both borders from Illegal Alien (Immigrants) and potential terrorists entry.

19. Dramatically reduced the number of families on food stamps and doubled families' wealth.

20. Did not allow transferring captured terrorist suspects to GITMO (Hezbollah commander, Ali Mussa Daqduq) and closed GITMO.

21. Demanded no classified information be released by anyone in the administration which would put our military members or foreign intelligence contacts in jeopardy.

22. Signed comprehensive tax reform which will affect ALL American citizens....including Grandma, the poor, and the elderly.

23. Signed an Executive Order to ensure ONLY African Americans are placed "on the road to education
equality".

24. Signed an Executive Order to allow about 1,400,000 Illegal Alien (Immigrant) Illegal children to stay in the U.S. calling it a "work visa" and allowing them to obtain a SSN for use to get Social Benefits without going through Congressional procedures.

25. Protected the American dollar Standard and Poor's rating.

26. Continued throughout his administration to promote unity of the American people.

27. Set Presidential records for the number of rounds of golf, for the number of campaign tours/fund raisers, for the number of White House parties, and for the number of "First Lady dates" in other cities.

Romney-Ryan 2012 to take back America from radicals.

Did any of those other presidents have to deal with 2.1 million jobs disappearing into a communist country since 2001? To be fair, that's probably a major contributor to the recession/depression that started under GWB and continues under Obama. Thank you Mitt and all you other non-patriotic businessmen who value their bonus's over country then withhold taxes owed by hiding profits outside of the US.

Since when has moving jobs to China and withholding taxes become acceptable behaviour? Since when has it become acceptable to be rewarded for moving those jobs to China? Why did the repubs stop legislation to cease rewarding the flow of jobs to oversea sites and begin the process of rewarding the return of jobs to the US.

Why do repubs hate the US?

Grover Dork,

Still dodging the first question, What is Obamas plan?

Great, have Romney release those tax returns and at the same time have Obama release his. THe reason his birth certificate was an issue is because he is the only president where there was a question on where he was born because of his own writings. And if I recall correctly it was Hillary that started that. How many years did Obama release on his returns? And with Barry being the president he cant find a way to get his hands on those returns? Another thing, why does it concern you that Romney earned his money? It doesnt bother you that Barry is a millionaire? What about Reid or Pelosi? Thats right.....they are dems so its okay that they are loaded.

You know I would have alot more respect for you dems if you just said that you are voting for Obama because you are a life long democrat and you vote straight party. It is not that hard to understand. 4 years ago Obama split the Democratic party. He was not the favorite, Hilary was. Like Mitt today with the Republican party he is their man but not what they really want. I dont feel like Obama got good support from the DNC and was not as effective a president as he could have been. Many Dems feel the same way for different reasons and may feel a bit apathetic about this election or feel that the GOP doesnt have a chance so why vote. With as close as some recent elections have been not keeping the base involved and actively voting could cost someone reelection.

How can anyone be optimistic about Obama and his administration? After all, in his acceptance speach he readily admitted that he is incapable or perfforming the job he was elected to do. He gave the lame excuse of all losers just before they are fired, "you shouldn't have expected me to do the job because no one could do it.." Well, there are lots of people that can do the job, including Mitt Romney at the forefront. Obama's slogan, "Forward" is a joke, like he is capable of moving forward carrying the mess he has created.

The "Secret Weapon" for Obama/Biden 2012 is Nitt-Witt RoMONEY. Every single time he opens his mouth, out spews his ignorance.

Here's Nit-Wit Mitt's take on Gun Control in his words: "We need a president who will enforce "current" laws not create new one's that only serve to burden lawful gun owners. President Obama has not...I will." (What a bonehead statement.)

Then Mitt said: "We need a president who will stand up for the rights of hunters and sportsmen and those who seek to protect their homes and their families. President Obama has not." WTF?! (Two bonehead statements)!

And finally, RoMONEY said: "If we're gonna safeguard our 2nd Amendment it's time to elect a president who will defend the rights President Obama ignores or minimizes." Really Mitt? What? Now you think the President is secretly planning to make all firearms illegal and have them confiscated or something?

How about RoMONEY and Lyin' Ryan (AKA The Bobble-Heads) tell the family members who lost loved ones in the theater in Colorado, and everywhere else these past years? Heaven forbid tighter gun control measures be put in place and "burden" the lawful gun owners.

No one is trying to take away anyone's guns--just tighter gun control measures, which clearly, are needed.

RoMONEY is a "Corporate Tool." I think Clint Eastwood gave ol' Nit-Witt some acting pointers, because he sure has his lies...er..."lines" down pat.

Paradoxical Quote of The Day: "Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires

every citizen to prove they are insured...

but not everyone must prove they are a citizen."

Now add this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable,

to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance

paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance

because they are citizens."

Think about it when you vote in November !

BOZO HAS TO GO!!

Were the disenfranchised including newly homeless and students living back home in their mother's basement, the unemployed, the partially employed, every American earning a living who gets $4K a year less money than in 2009 part of the poll? Why would a political convention change a person's perception whether or not he is "better off now"?

These polls are very suspicious if you ask me. No poll foretold the mandate election of 2010. Come on Democrats, get this lack of jobs problem corrected, get rid of $6500 annual mandated health insurance payment to big insurance companies under ObamaCare, or expect the "mother of all election polls" come November.

Really, Beverly? Obama's only tactic is to vilify and stir up resentments and anger among different groups of Americans towards another. It obviously has worked on you. I don't have any optimism as far as he is concerned. Five TRILLION in new debt. Deficit spending through the roof and climbing when we need to be cutting back and getting out of this monstrous burden. Horrible things happening overseas and he goes out shopping for more money instead of standing up for the country he is supposed to lead. Gas prices doubled and still going up. Energy prices going up, food prices going up. I am not looking forward to spending my winter in a 60 degree house eating only beans and rice and potatoes because that's all I will be able to afford.

An MSNBC poll ? You might as well call it a MSDNC poll ! Funny how this comes out as FEDEX comes out with a downgraded, pessimistic projection of earnings. I guess they won't be hiring too many new faces. Our national debt is $16 trillion and Obama has never signed a budget. Obama wants to raise taxes ... that will not bring out a POSITIVE reply !!

But who cares right ? As long as the propaganda arms of the Obama administration are painting a picture as pretty as the yellow brick road, they hope no one will notice the national debt, the high unemployment rate and the despair that continues to grow.

Only in the parallel universe of the liberal media spin machine do people get attacked for telling the truth. Obama is a proven failure in every sense of the word, his ineptitude and lack of leadership are painfully obvious. We already knew that with regard to the economy, the national debt, jobs and healthcare but now its showing up on foreign policy where the middle east at large is spinning out of control and all the administration does is trot out their hacks to attribute blame to an obscure film trailer few muslims have even seen. No indignation on the left to the feeble explanations? This administration's only priority is self perpetuation by any means necessary. No answers, no plan, no accountability. Truly pathetic!

    edandbunny,

Very true. What I have said to this point. In the beginning I was all for Obama and his message back in 2008. In fact being of mixed races. I thought this would give America the chance to heal from its race issues from the early years up until now. Then when he said he would bring our infrastructure back up to speed. Then take us down an energy Independence road. I was all for his message. Then he said he would work with both sides.

Well he had control of the House and Senate in his first two years. I think the Democrats feel he spent too much time on the Heath Care Bill rather than other issues. This in my opinion is where he failed. Once he got to the President's office he realized he was going to have to play ball with some heavy duty Power Brokers. These people control both Parties.

I for one said Hillary/Powell would of been the Democratic Dream Ticket. IT would of brought the middle, middle conservatives, liberal conservatives, and Democrats all under one umbrella. I've said the GOP needs to widen its Umbrella. This is what people see that dismays them when they see these weirdo's dressed up in these red, white and blue clown suits in attendance and they ask themselves are we a part of this party. That is my read.

We need to take back our parties and bring them both back on track. More in line with the People of this Great Nation. I will close with this. Bill Clinton was the Democrat's Best Statesman ever. Therefore why Obama asked Clinton to give the pre acceptance speech. The Clintons know what their doing. 2016 is in their sights.

Of course some are quite excited about these polls. But the reality is that most of these polls have been oversampling Democrats by +11 over Republicans & Independents. So of course Obama will be up this large of margins.

I say bring it on, will just make it more likely to get more Republicans out to vote and Democrats less likely since the polls indicated Obama has such a large lead. All you have to do is read the post by Democrats. "I think Obama is going to win easily". Whereas Republicans "this is going to be a tight race".

Funny.....the damage started a year and 1/2 after the Democrats took over Congress in 2006 and we've been bleeding ever since to the tune of 23 million unemployed and trillions of debt along with 2 credit rating declines.

If you are talking about the economy, the damage started with George W. Bush taking office. We had budget surpluses then and the national debt was actually going DOWN as some of that surplus was going to pay the debt.

8 years of corporate tax cuts and tax cuts for the wealthy, along with more lax regulation of industry (the banking industry in particular) and 2 wars is what got us here.

It's funny how short republican's memories are.

I must say people must be getting dumber if I were to believe this tall story. Romney sp[oke the truth and people did not like it. So what! NBC and all the other liberal stations made something out of nothing. Let me get this straight though so I can be sure what people are happy with Obama about:

    1. We just got another debt downgrade with more on the way because os Obamas out of control spending sprees.

    2. Unemployment is still above 8% with real unemployment above 14.7% which before anyone yeps these are numbers from the Obama adminstration. Which most likely means they are higher.

    3. We have the highest number of population on welfare and food stamps than at anytime in our history. Again these are numbers from Obamas own people.

    4. Obamas answer is to do the same and spend yet another trillion dollars.

    5. Obamas own policies have created uncertainty and fewer jobs.

So here is the list why people are so happy? Romney tells the truth and he gets lamb blasted by the liberal media and Obama lies and he gets the key to America. Sounds like a lot of stupid people to me or many too dependent on the government.

How many consecutive mouths of growth have we had since electing Obama? How many jobs were we losing when Bush left office...750,000/mo?

Here's the deal, you may not like Romney. You may hate his guts. You may think he is a liar and a cheat and maybe he is.

But he can create wealth. He has a proven track record. This election is about economy, it's not about social issues as much as the DNC wanted to paint it that way. We can wait 4 years to get a visa or get married. We cannot wait 4 years to pay bills and feed families. Social issues fix themselves when the country is fat and happy. Right now we are operating lean and everyone's pissed at everyone else.

On election day, the only question you have to ask is: Who's done a good job making money?

    The answer is astonishingly clear.

...the numbers for Bush's last three months. Between October and November, 597,000 jobs were lost; between November and December, 681,000 were lost; and between December and January, 741,000 were lost.

April 2012 marks the 26th straight month of gains in private-sector employment, for a total of 4.2 million private-sector jobs.

    DJIA Dec 26, 2008 8515
    DJIA sep 17, 2012 13564

Dec 29, 2008 (Bloomberg) U.S. corporate earnings fell for a sixth-straight quarter, the longest streak in at least 20 years, as consumer spending on automobiles, homes and retailers collapsed.

May 11, 2012 Fortune magazine released its ranking of the 500 biggest US corporations Monday, which showed that they received a record-breaking $824 billion in combined profits in 2011, up 16 percent from 2010.

Here is Mr. Obama's PLAN IF, and that is a big IF, he is re-elected:

    1. The re-creation of a 21st-century version of FDR's Works Progress Administration program within the Department of Labor that would oversee a massive new bureaucracy and millions of new federal jobs;
    2. An additional government-funded jobs program that provides "good jobs" capable of supporting a family with a "decent standard of living."
    3. A new government mandate to force businesses to provide twelve weeks of paid benefits to employees who need time off to care for a new child, a sick family member, or their own illness. Plus, a higher, required minimum wage that would raise the floor for all employees.
    4. An expansive, de facto amnesty program for illegal aliens via both executive order and interagency directives linked with a reduction in the capabilities of the U.S. Border Patrol.
    5. Plans to bring in untold numbers of new immigrants with the removal of caps on H-1B visas and green cards.
    6. Government-funded, neighborhood-based programs to better integrate the newly amnestied immigrants into society, including education centers and health care centers. A "federal solution" to ensure that the amnestied immigrants are treated "equitably" across the United States.
    7. A National Infrastructure Bank that would evaluate and finance infrastructure projects of substantial regional and national importance" and would finance "transportation infrastructure, housing, energy, telecommunications, drinking water, wastewater, and other infrastructures."
    8. The wresting of control of the military budget from Congress by placing an "independent panel" in charge of military spending while slashing the defense budget.
    9. Spreading the vastly reduced resources of the U.S. Armed Forces even thinner by using them to combat "global warming," fight global poverty, remedy "injustice," bolster the United Nations and step up use of "peacekeeping" deployments;
    10. A new "green" stimulus program and the founding of a federal "green" bank or "Energy
Independence Trust," which would borrow from the federal treasury to provide low-cost financing to private-sector investments in "clean energy. "
    11. A "green Manufacturing" revolving loan fund to create 680,000 manufacturing jobs and 1,972,000 additional jobs over five years
    12. Detailed plans to enact single-payer health care legislation controlled by the federal government.

Source: Aaron Klein's book: "Fool Me Twice: Obama's Shocking Plans for the Next Four Years Exposed."

Bottom line: MORE spending, MORE government control, reduction of our military forces (and what is left turn into BLUE Helmets for the U.N.), OPEN borders, and Amnesty FOR ALL.

Just keep hoping. Just remember this - for an incumbent to be tied or marginally ahead even BEFORE the debates start is a very bad sign. Even Jimmy Carter was up by 2 points 10 days before the election in 1980 and Reagan won by a landslide. I was expecting Mitt to be down 6% to 8% prior to the first debate. If Mitt can stay tied or below by 3% or less just prior to the first debate then Mitt is in an EXCELLENT position to win this election.

I wouldn't be so giddy with still almost two months to go. Not looking good for Obama and you don't want to be known as the person so "confident" about 60 days out and then get possibly "spanked" in the election. I would tone down the excitement for just a little while to reduce your increased embarrassment later. An incumbent tied or marginally up by just a couple is a very very bad sign for the incumbent.

yep, you can just never tell by those polls. Besides, there's a lot of things that can happen in the interim between now and Nov 6. A mixed bag of tricks can make President Obama shine, even look sublime depending on how he handles things. And by the same token, there is plenty of time for Mittwitt to say more wistful, incredibly predictable and repulsive things... none of which are going to win him votes. Let's look forward to the debates. I'm rather certain both Romney and Ryan are in for an asswhoopin'. Barack is no easy take in that arena and I think ol' Joe was pretty easy on Palin in '08. He knew she would step off in it without him having to be intentionally mean. But, I do remember the Watergate Hearings where Joe was a young and tough mo'fo'... rather instrumental in Nixon deciding to resign before he faced that bunch. You see, Joe's been at this political game for a very long time. Ryan is really still a newbie and one who has proven to blab off brazen lies. Yes, it oughta be some mighty good debates! Prime time entertainment I would guess.

You gotta love these Tea Baggers dressed up as Republicans! Who else could come up with such an idiot as Willard Mutt Romney?! The man is incredible. Every week its some new stupid, insensitive comment he's made. Well, you should now be able to tell why he would tie his dog to the roof of his car. His campaign knew months ago they couldn't sell him to the American public, so they are banking on Fat Cat Super Pacs and rigging elections. They know how close the election was in 2000 when the Supreme Court decided for us. They are hoping for the same thing again. JUST VOTE - PLEASE!

And dont give me the crap that he got osama bin laden, becaues he didnt, the Navey Seals did,he hesitated on giving the order three times.Romney wasnt my choice, but at least come 2016 we will still have the right to vote him out.If ovomit gets it you can kiss the rest of your freedoms by by,because he will gut the constitution the rest of the way by them.Wake the hell up!

FACTS YOU'LL NEVER HEAR ON FOX
        NEWS:
FACT: Roger Ailes is president of Fox News Channel, chairman of the Fox
Television Stations Group. Ailes was a media consultant for Republican
presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush.

JOBS -- Under Obama, 4.5 Million private sector jobs have been
created in just the past 3 years - this after Bush losing 750K per month at the
end of his term. Labor Force Statistics from the Current
Population Survey (Source: BLS Rpt. LNU02000000)

        GOP MISLEAD WITH:
"LESS PEOPLE WORKING NOW THAN 2009" - These job losses occurred during Obama's
first year. It took time to turn things around after Bush's 750K jobs lost per
month. If you read the graph at bottom you can clearly see that under Obama job
        losses were turned around.

DEBT - - per Congressional Budget
Office -- BUSH LEFT Obama $1.2 Trillion DEFICIT, and 3 Trillion in DEBT
projected into Obama's term. Add to this the worst economic crisis in 80
years. GOP 2006 Senate, 49/49/2. Who's to blame for our
        debt?

STOCK MARKET- Under Bush, DOW closed at around 8000. Under
Obama, we're now at 13000! Obama's policies have benefited "ALL our retirements
and 401K" with stock market recovery!

        ECONOMIC GROWTH - Positive Growth
now AFTER BEING HANDED Negative by Bush.

TARP - with the threat of
further regulation, most of TARP has been paid back w/ interest! Under Bush,
this $$$ was loaned unconditionally amounting to corporate
        welfare.

TAXES, taxes are lower for all but the richest, despite GOP
obstruction! GOP recently fought tooth-and-nail to increase the burden on the
middle class via the payroll tax. Thank You Mr. Obama. Furthermore, Tax Policy
Center -- taking a close look at Romney's proposed tax and economic plan ---
concluded that it would cut taxes for the richest Americans and actually raise
        them on the poor.

OBAMACARE: Nixon, McCain, Romney and Gingrich, all FOR
mandate before they were against it! Romney implemented the ORIGINAL Obamacare
and mandate was originally a GOP idea!

        TERRORISM - under Obama's
leadership and renewed focus he promised during the 2008 election - we got
        Bin!!!

AMERICAN LIVES - Egypt and Libya uprising - NO AMERICAN
        DEATHS!!!

*** All of these things and more with NOTHING but GOP
        Obstruction and fingerprinting!

        IN TRUTH, IT TAKES A

I find it amazing that Caesar and his minion of fellow cretins don't have much to say about the recent tape that was leaked. You can bet you A$$ that they are part of the 47% that Romney is dismissing and referring to as "those people". Why would you vote for someone who has so little respect for them.?

If Romney currently lives off capitol gains income, then I bet he is better off today than he was 4 years ago. That's probably one of the reasons why he won't show his taxes. He doesn't want us to see how his portfollio has doubled since Obama took office. Also, he doesn't want the mormon church to know how he has been stiffing them of their full 10% of his income.

Obviously, a majority of wingers on this blog have not been listening to their own pundits and strategists. Check out last week's Values Summit and listen to the comments your own people are making about your clueless candidate. Don't take the word of people who can think rationally, hear what winger leaders are saying. They can't figure why, in such a bad economy, Romney isn't running away in the polls. That, in and of itself, is a scream, and tells you how little they listen to anyone except those who will fill that void above their shoulders with more right wing pablum.

I shouldn't do this, but I know they won't pay any attention to it so here's the answer to your clueless question: Republicans will lose in November because A) you have an EXCEPTIONALLY weak candidate, 2) you have an EXCEPTIONALLY weak message, and 3) you deliver that EXCEPTIONALLY weak message in a way that really, really pisses people off! There - now you know, so go fix your campaign strategy.

To StopTheLiesNOW -- Great post with FACTS YOU'LL NEVER HEAR ON FOX NEWS and right on every single thing in your list.

I didn't know until last night that at least 5 of the paid politcal pundits on Fox news are members of the Mitt Romney campaign which is probably very convient for his campaign:

Elaine Chao is a national chair of the Mitt Romney for president campaign

Walid Phares is an advisor on foreign policy and national security to the Mitt Romney campagn

Jay Sekulow is a Romney adviser

John R. Bolton is a campaign foreign policy adviser

They work for the Romney campaign while they work on Fox News.

Karl Rove, Fox News politcal analyst does not work for Romney's campaign but his most definitely a financial player in the 2012 election with his American Cross Roads super pac.

So basically, Fox ?News? is a subsidiary of the Romney campaign. Surprise, surprise.

Now why would you have an icon depicting Richard M. Nixon? Oh...I get it, you're a republican. For any incumbent to even be within striking distance with kind of economy Obama inherited is nearly unheard of. This is not a good harbinger for Willard. And Willard still has a couple of months to alienate the American people...even without the debates...and the debates will be the nails in his coffin.

The past decade has been bad for working Americans. (Been great for the wealthiest, however, whose incomes didn't go down even during the recession.) Bush's tax cuts did not create prosperity for all.

But what gets me, is that, when I was a teenager, I could only hope Mom and Dad would buy me a Walkman for Christmas. Today's teenagers are walking around with technology my teenage self would ascribe to characters on Star Trek. I see 18 year olds with iPhones, iPads, and iPods riding the public bus. Well, never mind, everyone just twists the "facts" into whatever shape they want to see.

Of course the economy is better off. It hit bottom and has been very slowly improving. The question is, could it have improved faster than it has, or would it have done worse if nothing was done? Back to twisting.

You do realize that Obama kept Bush's tax cuts in place, right? So if the tax cuts didn't help, then explain why the economy has improved under Obama?

Well, first of all, Obama was blackmailed into extending those tax cuts by Republicans in the House. They held the extension of unemployment benefits hostage to get Bush tax cuts extended.

Now, Republicans are crying over the increase in national debt under Obama. If they were sooo concerned over the growth of our national debt, then why did they insist on keeping revenues down by insisting on keeping the Bush tax cuts?

And, no, those tax cuts did not help the economy while Bush was president and they aren't helping now. Why is the economy improving? Can you spell "stimulus"?

          The Economist, Jun, 2012:

Here's the CBO's latest report on the now-waning effects of the stimulus. Previous reports showed it creating as many as 3.3m jobs in a quarter. It should be noted that even the CBO admits some uncertainty in its findings. So at the hearings Mr Elmendorf also cited a survey of a diverse group of economists which found that 80% of them thought the unemployment rate was lower at the end of 2010 as a result of the stimulus. I think deep down, many Republicans believe this too. This week I've received a flurry of emails from a conservative group touting the job-creating benefits of defence spending, suggesting suppressed Keynesian sympathies.

This spin is hysterical.... the title is "optimism increases"... but the bottom line is that more people think he's a failure than not.... and this is a liberal poll.... let me spin it the other way.... "62% think Obama's squandering $6 Trillion in borrowed money has done nothing to help"

So, if the TEA No Party would work with the President we'd be over the hump for sure but the "One term crowd" poisoned the well and it may backfire with Myth Romney.

During that time he made the mistake of trying to work with Republicans and after that Republicans in Congress used the filibuster more than it has ever been used in the history of the country. Next lie from you????

I have to double down on the comment above concerning the President having the house and senate. A president is not a dictator as we have learned very well watching him try and deal with the "Party of No" only to have nothing get done. When he had the slight majority he got quite a few things done that he wanted. Republicans decry the president of being ineffective because he hasn't done anything "they" wanted. But he has in fact done some things that we, "his voters" wanted. We are all happy the auto industry is saved. We are happy that people who couldn't get health insurance before, can get it now. We are happy that he wants to make sure the rich pay their fair share legally. Its not about how many entitlements we can give. We're giving out what we need to give out. There is a very robust fraud detection industry that works with social services departments everywhere and when people cheat they get in trouble just like white collor criminals like Bernie Madoff. No one is getting away scott free without the risk of getting caught. Its time for people to just wake up and realize that this is a nation of hard workers. Sure there are slackers in every race, and social status level. But most of us of every creed and color work hard and we are proud of what we have achieved. Let the fraud departments worry about the cheaters and lets get on with continuing to "create a more perfect union" for "everyone" in the Union. Our problem is that we refuse to ask questions and find out what the reality is for people. We call people slackers who are not slackers. We stereotype people who in reality don't fit the stereotype so we are acting on bad information. People who can afford to pay for every bill, expense, college, etc. because of inheritance or because of parental assistance are not frowned upon. But people who have never had wealth or inheritance handed down are frowned upon when they need assistance from the government. The government protects all of us in different ways. The rich get to keep their wealth and land because they are protected from foreign invasion by our government's military. The poor and elderly are protected from starvation, disease, lack of education but our governments social services programs. Everybody is getting one form of protection or another so its time to let go of the petty arguments and look at the bigger picture where everyone has an opportunity to be successful.

In 1996, both the Chinese and the Walton family (Walmart) contributed to Clinton's campaign. China entered the WTO after Clinton negotiated the trade agreement with the Chinese. This was followed by U.S. companies going under as manufacturing and jobs were shipped to China. Walmart was one of the single largest importers of Chinese goods. Yep, Bill Clinton really helped the U.S.

That doesn't take any communist propaganda. All Mitt has to do is open his mouth.

Besides, why in the hell would communists attack Romney. Romney/Bain has done more to improve Communist China's economy and undermine America's manufacturing base than ever before in American history. Just imagine what he can do if he gets elected as president. America may only survive as a Chinese colony! It is a Communist dream that Romney/Ryan get elected!

So, when Obama agreed to an extension of the Bush tax cuts, it was because he "was taken hostage and coerced" but when he could not get much else done, it's because he was blocked. Seems like the reality was that when he supported a good idea, people got on board and when he came up with non-sense, they declined to go along. For example, the Obama budgets did not get a single democrat vote in favor. And those nasty democratic obstructionists were led by another rich evil Mormon, Harry Reid. Maybe, Obama just can't accept responsibility for anything and is inept on top of that?

If they are lies, please show me proof they are not.

                One at a time:

23 million unemployed - that number comes from Clint Eastwood's speech. He's a better actor than a statistician:

                Huffington Post, 08/31./2012:

During his speech, Eastwood said he was crying for the 23 million unemployed Americans. The only problem: there are actually only 12.8 million unemployed Americans as of July, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, whose job it is to keep track of that sort of thing.

2 credit rating declines - who's counting? There has been one credit rating reduction under Obama. If you are talking GCI, who cares? That doesn't affect America's credit rating. Now, S&P (who is one of the agencies in charge of credit ratings whereas the WEF, publisher of the GCI, is NOT) did downgrade America's credit rating after the shameful debt ceiling debacle last year. The full text of their announcement makes the reason clear:

We have lowered our long-term sovereign credit rating on the United States of America to 'AA+' from 'AAA' and affirmed the 'A-1+' short-term rating.

The political brinksmanship of recent months highlights what we see as America's governance and policymaking becoming less stable, less effective, and less predictable than what we previously believed.

We have changed our assumption on this because the majority of Republicans in Congress continue to resist any measure that would raise revenues...

Republicans and Democrats have only been able to agree to relatively modest savings on discretionary spending while delegating to the Select Committee decisions on more comprehensive measures. It appears that for now, new revenues have dropped down on the menu of policy options.

Pretty damning for Republicans, isn't it? No wonder any Republican release of the "full text" excludes these remarks!

5 trillion more debt in less than 4 years - once again, who is counting? George W. Bush's last budget, which ended in Oct, 2009, left us with $11.9T in national debt. Current debt is $15.5T. Simple math will tell you that is only $3.6T that Obama is responsible for. The truth is out there, Google it, don't be an ass! All these assumptions of $5T start the clock at Jan , 2009 when Obama was sworn in. Here's the link that proves the lie:

                From the Mises Economic Blog:

The federal fiscal year lasts from October 1 to September 30 (It ended on June 30 prior to 1976). So, the 2009 fiscal year ended in September of 2009, eight months after Bush left office. When Obama was sworn into office, Bush had already submitted his 3.1 trillion dollar 2009 budget almost a year earlier.

skyrocket foreclosures continuing after a bank bailout - I give you the findings from the bipartisan Congressional report by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on the subprime mortgage crisis released in 2009 (summary here):

The Government Sponsored Enterprises led the way into the housing crisis: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were leaders in risky mortgage lending. According to an analysis presented to the Committee, between 2002 and 2007, Fannie and Freddie purchased $1.9 trillion of mortgages made to borrowers with credit scores below 660, one of the definitions of “subprime” used by federal banking regulators. This represents over 54% of all such mortgages purchased during those years. (p.24)

Those mortgages that failed had already been made, according to this report, from 2002 to 2007! Of course, they skyrocketed: shaky mortgages, the economy trashed by Bush, everybody bailed! How is that Obama's fault?

I don't expect you to listen to facts, but you asked. There's the proof.

Some may think the country is bad off because republicans have control of the house and therefore nothing can be done except for our country to go down with them. If the dems get back in control and the teaparty is kicked out on their laurels the country may look better immediately. Unfortunately the questions asked aren't always as clear as they could be. They should ask do you think the country is in good hands with the GOP in control of the house. If they say no that would mean we are going in the wrong direction. With Paul Ryan in politics I think we have been going the wrong direction. That Randy guy is bad news for America as we have always known it.I hope his voting public have learned a thing or two about him that they didn't know. Like who his hero is still. ONly now it is just economics= which is the main problem in the first place.

Good points. And don't forget the results seen in states like Maine that are serving as petri dishes for the right wing agenda. Our Tea Party legislature and governor made changes to the law so that insurance companies could charge healthy and urban clients lower rates - while raising them on the more rural, senior populations. Republicans call this "insurance reform." The insurance companies love it - and the right-wing voters - not so much. It's ironic.

And this poll was taken BEFORE the "I don't care about 47% of this country" gaffe.

And we're still waiting on his tax releases? Don't think that issue will go away quietly.

Bring on the debates! R-money's knack for Mitt-the-Twit type of statements are becoming the norm, rather than the excaption.

The issue of the tax returns is up in less than three weeks. He promised to release his 2011 return when he files, and that is no later than October 15. The fool must not have realized the election was November 6. This will be fresh in everyone's minds, instead of being long forgotten.

You see how little strategy this guy has? He could have filed on time, released everything, and it all would have blown over. Instead, he postpones it until the very worst time. This, my friends, is why this guy is too dumb to lead our country.

Starterup and aworld of hurt - What we need to see is Mitt's 2009 tax return. That's the one that will tell us if Mitt took advantage of the IRS tax amnesty program that year. Because if he did, then he may have committed tax fraud and got amnesty for fessing up and paying the taxes. And I bet Obama would be very willing to produce his transcripts in exchange for Mitt's 2009 return.

a world of hurt - when has any President EVER had to show their college transcripts, or their birth certificate? NEVER - that's when. However, every Presidential candidate in modern history has shown at least five years of their tax returns - except Mitt. So, why is it okay for him to refuse to do what others did? Why doesn't he do what his father did and release 12 years of tax returns?

Let's see - what could he be hiding?????

Let's see ... Why are college transcripts important ?

We are $16 trillion in debt with $5 trillion coming under Obama's so-called "leadership". During this time, Obama has never signed a budget of any sort and his own budget proposals have been so bad ... he has not even received ONE SINGLE VOTE from within his own party ! It might be real important to know if "genius" Obama ever had even a basic course in accounting ... because he does not seem to know what a BUDGET IS !

Also, if Obama took a heavy course load in radical political science, Keynesian economics, marxism or Muslim studies ... it might tell us a great deal more about his values ... or lack thereof ! What's he hiding ?

Oh, and the BS about him being "editor" of Harvard law Review ... how did he accomplish that without ever having actually written an article for that very same Harvard Law Review. Face it, Obama's a fraud.

College transcripts - never asked for before and neither was a birth certificate. See how dumb the little righties get when they know they have no viable candidate and the candidate they are running is hiding his dishonesty by not releasing what EVERY Presidential candidate in modern time has? Pathetic that Mitt is the BEST the righties have!

Romney was right-- people do feel entitled. I can only hope the other 53% of Americans throw Obama out on his commie behind. The 47% may get what they wish for. They'll keep getting exactly what the government thinks they need, and nothing more if Obama and his father's dreams come to fruition. And forget about hoping or wishing for more. The government will control that, too.

we all know barak obama has communist leanings....he even says his mentor was frank marshall davis. it's well known he was nudged into running for office by bernadine dorn and bill ayers, admitted communists.

look, all of us have read his books.....obama does not throw these people under the bus....in fact he is quite open about his relationships with communists.

what i dont understand is.....where is the outrage ? ...democrats used to be anti-communist...but they dont care, they embrace van jones...even after he said "yeah, i am a member of the communist party of america" (obama sacked him a few days afterward but democrats still love van jones to this day)

there are so many ways i think barak obama has committed treason just by having ties to communism....most us had a family member fight the cold war....but the democrats have no problem what so ever with this.

i dont feel good about america anymore.....i certainly dont address barak obama as "president"....because for half of us....barak obama is not our president.....we live under the obama rule, we have to sit and take whatever the obama regime says. ....we are an oppressed people, because obama only wants his side...his party members....his campaign donors....to have a say in what happens in america.

when obama started doing things....forcing obamacare down the throats of all americans. there was opposition....but that opposition did not count. i heard "shut up, you lost" repeated time and time again.

the america we all once knew is long gone.....this is "obamas america".

Marla - I assume that you will not be participating in Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid when you retire. That if god for bid you or a family member losses there job that you will not seek unemployment. That you plan on being totally self sufficient. Your own policeman, fireman, emergency response personnel. That you will pay for your children education and build your own roads and transportation systems and not use the ones provided to you by this communist government.

Seriously seems a little silly that you are that brainwashed and paranoid about President Obama. While I am pretty sure he doesn't have a clue what his father's views would be today - I sure he know what his Grandfather fought for in WWII and his Grandmother help build as well. It's OK to be scared by the unknown, until you actually do some research and thinking on your own and then you might see that he is actually trying to make this a better country and that he is not the big bad buggy man that you make him out to be.

So stop the Hatitude - come on over and vote for Obama we won't tell your friends. It's OK

Layton, I absolutely replied to your question: I said Romney wasn't a commie. I would vote for Bo, the dog before I'd support Obama. Take time and read his own words in his own books, people-- he has as his mentors socialists and communists, and is proud of it.

I have one vote, so will cast it for anybody who has a chance to win against him.... Whether Romney wins is out of my hands.

Marla, if Obama really were a communist, you wouldn't own your own tooth brush, let alone your own house.

Maybe you mean "socialist", because Obama has nationalized all the important institutions -- the banks, the airlines, the supermarkets, the mining and timber industries. I don't know if I'd blame Obama for all that. After all, Benjamin Franklin was our first Postmaster General. You know the postal service -- that big, government-run monopoly?

But -- "socialist". Yes, that must be what you mean.

Marla - Nine children! I am afraid - for them. By the way, I don't have and iPod and I have read Obama's book. So much for you stupid assumptions. Robert Maxwell above is correct so perhaps you should pay attention to what he said. Read some current books. Being a Communist is not the same thing as being a Socialist. But of course you and your little buddy Keck knew that, right? Calling someone a Communist is a little outdated.

                  keck.......

You have rarely (maybe never) sounded so forlorn. Perhaps it is because only those, who so admire a defeated Nazi as to choose him for his avatar, are still so fanatically obsessed with the "communist menace".

Don't be such an anachronism. Are you not aware that one of our largest trading partners (China) is a communist nation and they seem to be doing quite well fiscally. Really, you would do better with the "Obama is an Islamic terrorist" ruse.

Perhaps when you realize that what makes this country great isn't an economic system (i.e. capitalism, socialism, communism, etc.) but a political system (democracy), you will comprehend that our nation is strong and remains defiant to your insidious forces of fascism. But then, you are keck. So, that's not likely.

                  Truth always bears repeating:

                  Benito Mussolini Quote....
"il corporativismo è la pietra angolare dello Stato fascista, anzi lo Stato fascista o è corporativo o non è fascista"
                  Translation:
"corporatism is the corner stone of the Fascist nation, or better still, the Fascist nation is corporative or it is not fascist".....EndQuote

Franklin Delano Roosevelt Quote....."The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. " .....EndQuote

Theodore Roosevelt Quote......The great corporations which we have grown to speak of rather loosely as trusts are the creatures of the State, and the State not only has the right to control them, but it is duty bound to control them wherever the need of such control is shown......EndQuote

Thomas Jefferson Quote.....I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country......EndQuote

Our government is the only effective non-violent counter to corporate fascism. That is why you folks wish to make it (government) weaker.

BTW---You are the perfect provocation for the fascist warnings from the past. Thanks for that.

Even his health care plan left thieving insurance companies running medicine and stealing people blind. Even though he is a disappointment, Romney makes Obama look great.

The 47% may get what they wish for.

You know, you have to look closely at what that 47% number really means. Before Bush implemented his tax cuts in 2001 and 2003, the number was 30%. After Bush tax cuts, the number jumped to 47%. Who was responsible for the people who don't pay taxes? Democrats? I don't think so!

In fact, Republicans, from 2001 to 2004, were responsible for exactly what they accuse Democrats of - buying votes!

Everyone knows Obama is a socialist, his foreign policy has failed, he has no economic agenda but failure, gas prices have doubled since he took office, and he found partying with Jay Z and Beyonce more important than handling the Libya murders! He is the only president that has never gone to Israel and the dumbacratic party wants to take God out of everything. You have no idea what the myth of Sisyphus is about. Go read a book instead of the cliff notes, you might learn something. The only hill Romney is pushing a rock up is the liberal media -- who no one listens to except losers who learn a new word and think they can use it intelligently.

Romney is doing just fine. His last three weeks have been just fine. Only the liberal media thinks he had a bad 3 weeks. Who had a bad 3 weeks -- uh can you say middle east blowing up, can you say jewish vote shifting to pubs, can you sat Romney up 7 points with women, can you say obama tailing on Romney's Egyptian Embassy commentary and China, etc, etc etc.

Dream on, Romney has this locked up, period.

This election is about Jobs, not social activism. Democrats love social activism, but they don't know how to pay for it. Democrats should ask a Republican how to pay for it, and then maybe it will work. Everyone cannot win in this world, but Obama insists that it must be fair, so why should any one try harder then they have to if Obama will make it fair for you. This is the start of communism - always sounds good at the start but then reality shows that it cannot work. This election is about JOBS, not social activism. Gasoline is up 108% since Obama has been in office. People are dropping out of the work force. We need JOBS. If I lose my white collar non-union job, then the dry cleaners, food market, car wash, bars, McDonalds, etc, all lose in the neighborhood. We need JOBS, not lip service. Obama will not be happy until we are all living in Section 8 Housing. This election is about JOBS, so why would anyone vote for Obama. I know why Black will vote for him, but do White people feel that badly about themselves that they feel they have to punish themselves for all the wrongdoing on Blacks?

                      Good Call Casey

Seems the Chicago Group follow Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals rather faithfully. Alinsky was the professor sociologist that taught Obama in the left wing philosophy/vernacular - basically tear it down but have other people pay to rebuild the "expected Utopia" of the left. What happens when you run out of "other peoples" money? When all else fails the # 1 Rule for Radicals is "Can't attack the message, then attack the messenger". The only platform I see from Obama is another 4 years of same old failures, nothing new.

Casey - this is about so much more than just jobs. But lets start there - how many jobs bill has this Congress passed? How many times did they try and repeal ACA???? That was time well spent - not! Seriously start yelling at your own party about their lack of Jobs before you go blaming one Man.

What about jobs? Is 30 months of job growth bad news to you?

What have you done for America?

In 400 days you republicons have created zero jobs and voted to kill 7.4 million jobs.

In the over 400 days since Republicans took control of the House, the GOP hasn’t passed a single job creation bill, but has passed bills that would kill 7.4 million jobs.

House Democrats has proposed 31 different bills to create jobs since Republicans have taken over, and all of them have been defeated.

Here is a partial list of some of the job creation bills that the GOP has said no to (via: Democratic Leader Pelosi):

An American jobs effort to end government contracts rewarding corporations that ship American jobs overseas. [Vote 19]

                      A measure to discourage outsourcing
by denying the bill’s pro-corporation election rules for companies that ship American jobs overseas and leveling the playing field for workers in union elections. [Vote 868]

A measure that places a priority on keeping jobs in America, protecting the authority of the National Labor Relations Board to order an employer to maintain or restore jobs in the U.S. that would be otherwise outsourced to a foreign country. [Vote 710]

Build America Bonds to Create Jobs Now Act – leveraging public dollars to strengthen the private sector, growing our economy by rebuilding America’s schools, hospitals, and transit projects, supported by American businesses, the construction industry, mayors and governors. [Vote 38, Vote 30, Vote 189]

American Jobs Matter Act – to give preference in federal contracts to U.S. manufacturers that create jobs here at home. [Vote 257]

                      National Manufacturing Strategy Act
, to demand a clear plan to help manufacturers compete, invest in innovation, and put Americans back to work, which passed the House in 2010 with overwhelming bipartisan support. [Vote 279, Vote 721]

A measure to promote jobs and innovation at home,
by prioritizing patent applications from entities that pledge to develop or manufacture their products and technologies in the United States. [Vote 490]

Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing Technology Act to help ensure the cars of the future are built here in the U.S., by investing in a broad range of near-term and long-term vehicle technologies to improve fuel efficiency, support domestic research and manufacturing, and lead to greater consumer choice of vehicle technologies and fuels. [Vote 310]

A measure to support American Manufacturers by giving priority to any company that uses materials made in America for the construction and renovation of school facilities. [Vote 693]

A measure to protect at least 10,000 American manufacturing jobs and provide disaster relief to families and business owners: approving bipartisan disaster aid passed by the Senate without slashing Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing loans that put people to work producing cleaner cars and investing in innovation. [Vote 715]

Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act
to provide our government with effective tools to address unfair currency manipulation by countries like China, which could help create 1 million American manufacturing jobs by leveling the international playing field for American workers and businesses. [Vote 9, Vote 199, Vote 780, Vote 821, Vote 854] This bipartisan bill has 230 co-sponsors including 63 Republicans, yet the Republican leadership has blocked it. Democrats have launched a process to force consideration of the measure; that petition has 178 of the 218 signatures needed.

A measure to ensure that American materials, rather than those imported from abroad, are used in the construction of new or existing structures for coal ash storage. [Vote 792]

A Make It In America measure that prohibits the Coast Guard from purchasing textiles or apparel that are not grown, reprocessed, reused, or produced in the United States. [Vote 829]

A measure for middle class families, directing the Joint Committee on Deficit Reduction to eliminate subsidies for the five largest oil and gas companies and corporate jet owners, before gutting education initiatives that create jobs, spur growth, and invest in our future. [Vote 676]

A measure to protect jobs for returning veterans by preventing incentives for small businesses to hire returning veterans from being swept away by GOP deregulatory efforts. [Vote 879]

A measure to allow Congress to make job-creating investments
, instead of automatically freezing funding for Pell Grants and education programs for students, job benefits for veterans and job training for all Americans, and life-saving health research. [Vote 31]

The Republicans refusal to create jobs is just one side of the story. John Boehner and company are also on a mission to reverse the course of the recovery and deepen the recession. House Democrats estimate that the GOP has killed 2 million jobs since they have taken over, and an analysis by Political Correction finds that the House GOP has tried to kill 7.4 million jobs in 400+ days. The House GOP’s ambitious plan would kill double the jobs in the Obama administration has created in the last 23 months by 2016.

One of the first acts of the Republican controlled House was to pass a bill to kill Obamacare. If this bill became law, it would kill 250,000-400,000 jobs a year. House Republicans passed a bill that would disband and defund the IRS, which would kill more than 107,000 jobs. The House passed the Cut, Cap and Balance Act which would kill 700,000 jobs. The House also passed a bill to 285,000 federal government jobs, but the biggest job killer of all is the Ryan Budget, which would kill 2-3 million jobs over 5 years.

The House Republicans claim that they have passed 27 bills that would create jobs, but are stalled in the Senate. However, a quick look at the list of “job creation” bills reveals that the legislation is nothing more than extreme budget cuts and an attack on all regulations, specifically environmental regulations. Interestingly, the House GOP also claims that their opposition to net neutrality will create jobs. There is not a single dollar spent in any of the Republican passed bills on direct job creation.

At the 300 day mark, House Republican had voted to kill 4.2 million jobs. If Republicans would have supported even part of the Democrats job creation agenda, millions of jobs would have been created. The American Jobs Act alone would have created an additional 1.9 million jobs and reduced unemployment by a full point. If the American Jobs Act would have become law, we could have anticipated an unemployment rate falling towards 7.3%, with no other economic growth included.

Despite their best efforts to prolong this recession the economy is recovering and growing again, but this list demonstrates that House Republicans are going to do everything in their power to derail our economic recovery before the presidential election in November.

If House Republicans continue on this path they’ll get their wish, but the jobs they kill will be their own.

Another outright group of lies by the progressives on this blog.

The economy has lost a net loss of 4.8 million jobs since 2008. 43 months of 8.1% or higher unemployment, 23 million unemployed citizens, 12 million illegal immigrants who take money and benefits away from citizens who need it, the highest debt in 4 years of any President in history, and the beat goes on. The progressives can read but not add, subtract, or comprehend. Source of information for jobs www.bls.gov.

Obama is an abysmal failure. Now the Muslims are burning Obama effigies. They have no respect for him and neither do the leaders of most other countries. He ruined our economy and now he's compromising our security in the world. But at least he has time to party with his celebrity pals.

Right, the internals indicate 60% lean left.

No one except the Obama faithful believe these slanted polls or that the country is any better off.

                            inflation across the board

                            historically high unemployment

high energy costs projected to get even higher

                            weak housing market

"fiscal cliff" looming and across the board tax increase coming in January

more tax increases coming in 2014 thanks to Obamacare. Not to mention the expected job loss and work reduction for the people who can least afford it

cuts to the military when our disasterously amateurish foreign policy has made the world less safe

1 million fewer jobs in the labor market since he was coronated

a little over 1% growth, which is essentially no growth

Better off? Those people are fools.

What is Obama's plan? Has the lapdog media gotten that out of him yet.

He has but one, demonize Romney.

The single most important thing in this election and you want to debate who is more clueless? By the way just when do you think we should start paying attention to the $16 trillion deficit? When do we pay attention to 23 million unemployed and 12 million illegal immigrants? Just when do we want to pay attention to 43 weeks of unemployment about 8.1%? You would rather talk about abortion, contraception and same sex marriage right? That is what I thought.

                              No comprehension again.

I now understand why Governor Romney refused to run for a second term as governor. I now understand why, near the end of his term, he had an approval rating of just 38 percent, second lowest of all 50 governors at the time. I understand why his lieutenant governor was beaten by a 20 point margin. Romney is simply a disaster. Everything he touches turns to crud.

Uh, I hate to break the news to you but there's 23 million unemployed (and counting) who have the same opinion about Obama. And if he wasn't African American, his approval rating would be about as high as Carter's!

A lot of people are understanding this wrong. Before you analyze the 47 percent comment, think about this. Most American voters are "low information." This means, they will vote with their gut! Okay, now that you have that information let us move on to the next phase. Of the 47 percent that pay little or no taxes, what is the share of votes? Okay, let's get this straight, about half will vote for Romney come rain or sun shine! About half will vote for Obama. The only difference is where they live. The half that will vote for Romney resides in the rural areas (Appalachia and so forth) the half that will vote for Obama is mainly from the inner city. So what is the score on this 47 percent? 50/50. Okay, wait... let's get this straight... What Romney meant is that those who are poor, choose to be poor. They do not find themselves in those circumstances. A lot of kids in this country, live in poor households due to no fault of their own. Okay, their parents may have made bad decisions, but hey, these are kids. Welfare economists tell us that without welfare, poverty rates would go up. It is not as easy as "I teach you how to fish today and tomorrow you will have fish on your table" nope! That is not true. Poverty is a state of the mind. It will take years to win people off welfare and it is not going to be a strategy that is going to easy. I think the best approach is the democratic one. First of all, the democrats, despite the fact that they only get half of the 47 percent, they still are committed to the causes of the entire 47 percent. The Republicans, do not care about the 47 percent. They think that we should have lesser welfare recipients in this country which is right but how are you going to do it? By creating higher poverty rates among our children? Remember, poverty breeds more poverty. This is not a winning strategy. What Romney does not realize is that he is starting a class warfare. He does not care how and whether Americans take care of one another. Statements like that, will make people start to resent one another, believing that they are paying more in taxes than others. What is not being said is that poor people actually pay more in non-income taxes proportionally. Of this non-payroll taxes, these individuals pay more than the rich. Why do the rich say that they do not pay anything at all, it is to lie to these individuals so that they believe that they are worthless and non-contributors to society which is not true. So, when you go out to buy anything, you pay about 10 percent taxes on what you are buying. As a proportion of your income that amounts to a higher percentage of tax than Romney's 13 percent. Romney does not care about you, all he cares about is starting a class warfare while he lives in his mansion and the poor kids in Appalachia or the inner city suffer. Poverty or welfare in America does not have a skin color. It is ugly and it affects us all. We need a president that understands that. Plus, let us get away from the myth that Obama grew up poor. He did not! Having a banker grandmum and a mother who was a prefessor does not seem poor to me. But at least he understands, thanks to the fact that he is more intuitive than the other guy!

Obama has already started the class warfare, and he is winning. There is so much division in Obama's speeches. I wish he could have worked it out these last 4 years, but clearly the economy is not turning around. Intuition does not create jobs.

                              Kazembe;

This is this same argument that one can make about Obama's claim that the "rich don't pay their fair share".

All we here about is that Romney ONLY paid 14% of his income in Federal IRS taxes on his $20 million. 14% of $20 million is $2.8million dollars of Income Taxes!!! Does he use more of the highways? Do more US Military protect his butt than mine? Does he use more of the Public Teachers time? Does he use more of Washington's time and attention? How many average Americans does it take to amount to $2.8 Million of Income Taxes? I have NO idea but I'm sure it's a pretty BIG number and I would bet that they use more of the things the Federal Government is supposed to be providing to the Republic via the US Constitution than ol Mittens and his family!!!

"ALL we ask is that the wealthy pay their fair share."

                              We ALL know that the:

Top 1% pay 36.73% of the TOTAL Tax Revenues collected by the IRS
                              TOP 5% pay 58.66%
                              TOP 10% pay 70.47%
                              TOP 25% pay 87.30%
                              TOP 50% pay 97.75%

                              The BOTTOM 50% pay 2.25%

                              (According to IRS figures)

"All we ask is that the wealthy simply pay their fair share." - Isn't this class warfare, pitting one group against the other?????????? Or am I missing something here??????????????

"All we ask is that they wealthy pay their fair share."

If 97.75% IS NOT FAIR, please advise what percentage then is FAIR???????????????????????????

If you tax too much you get less revenue. How much is too much? Let's say that we tax 1%, 2%, 3% etc. we get proportionately higher revenue at each step. But what if we taxed 100%? Then no one would work, because all their earnings would be taken away. So what percentage is the hump? At what point does revenue from taxes start to decline because the tax rate it too much? Does anyone care to guess?

I wouldn't care to guess. It would vary too much with the particular population and the proposition is based on a questionable assumption -- that people work only for money. It disregards, self esteem, voluntary work, pride, self expression, a desire to improve the community, etc.

It may be that income -- all by itself -- determines how much work you do, but that's arguable.

I like your comments and for the most part they are true but one of the most important thing that is left out of the equation--now that we are esentially talking about American prosperity--and that is the old adage that simply says, "It's not what you know, it's who you know!" There's a lot of people who are locked into what is a cast system that is not being talked about by any of the media. The most salient and relevant point about the present economy is this fact--the global multi-transnational corporate economy is not really concerned with the economic well-being of 312 million Americans when the "ball-park" estimates of global population are 7.— billion people, many of which live in houses without toilets (India, Africa) let alone running water, and these corporations have virtually no other responsibility other than making a profit. What we are witnessing in the 21st century is the rise of the robotic corporate business organization. Without trade tariffs or protectionism in some form (Mitt Romney is opposed to it in any form) the corporations that are "persons" with first amendment rights, legally have only one prime responsibility, making a profit. They are living heart donors. They have billions of dollars to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay lobbyists, who buy politicians in congress, donate heavily to the likes of The United States Chamber of Congress and so-called think tanks like the Heritage Foundation (the author of the mandate section of Obama's Affordable Healthcare bill, by the way). Here are their goals: (1) to avail themselves of the global labor force which has put American workers in direct competition with at least 3 billion more workers making (2) decimate small business' economies world wide through trade agreements (3) mathematically reduce labor ratio to task to a minimum in the name of efficiency (4) fight any tax reform that negatively impacts the bottom line ( corporations pay only 8% of the taxes in U.S.) (5) run active well-funded propaganda programs that oppose environmental concerns over increased profitability (ads. such as clean coal of which there is no such thing or energy independence through fracking tar sands) (6) privatize every function of the government thereby eliminating government and (7) achieve their goal of making profits where the goal is not just profits but more profis. Corporations are actually the only real employers that an American worker can still get paid a "living wage" and in order to get there--no amount of education will get you there-- without knowing someone. When there are 26 million Americans out of work, who you know is more important than what you know.

If there was a Republican in office and the country is in the shape it's in now, it would be the Republicans fault 100%. I'm an independent and just by the lies that they spin, I'm voting for Romney. BTW, Feisty is a libtard. I'm in Afghanistan right now, working 14-16 hour days, go back to my tent and look at the BS flowing from her mouth. She must be one of the 47% getting freebies because she's always on here spewing hate. FIESTY...GET A JOB...OH, that's right, your precious Obama is supporting you.

Tell me he did not lie when he said Unemployment would be under 6% when he was in office. HE LIED. Tell me that he did not say there were shovel ready jobs....HE LIED. Tell me he did not say that he would close GITMO...HE LIED. Give me your libtard excuses just from those three. You're an idiot ladyhawke!

Living in the swing state of Florida and love President Obama. Isn't Mitt the one on welfare by paying on 13% income tax? You are welcome, Mitt, because you (and your corporations) are sucking off the rest of us.

kc : I also live in the lovely state with a crook for a governer . But I think Florida has been bought and paid for so Romney will carry it. The Big money bags has too much money invested too lose so our votes won'tbe counted as they weren't in the 2000 election.

Make sure you don't go to Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Apple, Microsoft, GM, etc etc etc for any of your goods or services.

I mean, since they're robbing you to begin with......

You might want to try China or Mexico if you don't like it here.......

Corporate welfare is where the majority of American's tax dollars are re-distibuted to the wealthy to buy Tea Party candidates who will serve the 1% to oppress the 99%.

Don't believe the biased liberal media. This election is far from over. They are neck and neck and for an incumbent president that is not good news. I'm voting for Romey/Ryan. Now that's change I can believe in

Ladyhawke, what a blindly ignorant statement to make. First, with regard to wealthy donors, Democrats receive more money from corporations and rich people than Republicans do. By a margn of 7 to1, according to Factcheck. Mitt Romney has worked harder than you or anyone you know. Start with his school days where he graduated with multiple degrees always at the top of his class. (we don't know about Obama because he knows if he releases his college records it will prove him a non-citizen or a tuition thief) In the Corporate World, no one scores the type of success Romney did without a ton of work. All the while he was faithful to his Church and more improtantly his friends. Massachusetts High School Senios in the top 25% of their class get free college thank to Mitt. Name something similar to that, Obama has as a legacy.

Tonight, Obama will do his 9th appearance on the Letterman show. The last time he was there, he said the job situation would turn around in a year...That was three years ago. Obama misses his Intelligence Briefings, puts off meetings with the Prime Minister of Israel while Iran's Centrifuges whirl away making bomb grade material, and Obama doesn't meet with his Jobs Council or members of Congress. He doesn't return phone calls, but he has time for Letterman and partying with Hollywoods Elite. If he had attended his daily Intelligence Briefings Ambassador Stephens would be alive along with other embassy personel who were murdered. But Obama couldn't be troubled. Up to the day of the raid in Libya, Obama's last Intelligence Briefing was on September 5th. Libyan Security people warned of an organized Al Queada attack poised to take place on 9/11...Obama couldn't be bothered.

Voting for Romney/Ryan! Obama had his chance and failed miserably!! Those who say things are better have their head buried deep in the sand. Failed foreign policies, no jobs, the American people still losing their homes, and the country almost bankrupt! Those who vote for Obama don't care about what he's doing to America!
