Obama hits Romney on China: 'I like to walk the walk, not just talk the talk'

Al Behrman / AP

President Barack Obama speaks during a campaign event, Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Seasongood Pavilion in Cincinnati.

CINCINNATI, OH - President Barack Obama touted his administration's new trade complaint against China here in swing state Ohio on Monday, characterizing GOP rival Mitt Romney’s vow to get tough on China as mere lip service.

Recommended: Under increasing scrutiny, Romney campaign turns to details

Obama played up his administration’s new World Trade Organization complaint, which accuses the Chinese government of illegally subsidizing its auto parts industry so as to make products more competitive in the American market. The complaint has particular resonance in states like Ohio, where the auto industry makes up a large share of the economy.

“These are subsidies that directly harm working men and women on the assembly lines in Ohio and Michigan and across the Midwest,” Obama told a crowd of 4,500 at Eden Park in Cincinnati. “It’s not right; it’s against the rules; and we will not let it stand.”

Jim VandeHei shares details from a Politico article, which suggests infighting within the Romney campaign and details the role of top strategist Stuart Stevens in the campaign.

Romney, the Republican presidential nominee, has promised to take a tougher stand toward China if he were elected. That commitment, Obama argued, can’t be taken seriously given Romney’s record at Bain Capital, in which companies acquired by Bain sometimes outsourced jobs to other countries.

Obama accused Romney of having a mixed record on China, claiming that while Romney is “running around Ohio claiming he’s going to roll up his sleeves and take the fight to China,:

“Ohio, you can’t stand up to China when all you’ve done is send them our jobs,” Obama said. “You can talk a good game, but I like to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.”

President Obama talks about his plan to encourage jobs creation in the U.S. to a crowd of supporters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ohio, where one in every eight people has ties to the auto industry, is an ideal host for Obama’s attack on China’s auto industry practices, especially as both campaigns are vying fiercely over the state’s 18 electoral votes. Obama seemed to be widening his lead here slightly as of the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist University poll which showed him leading Romney 50 percent to 43 percent.

This was the second auto-focused WTO complaint Obama launched against China while speaking in Ohio. Back in July, he announced a citation against the country’s imposition of tariffs on American automobile imports while in Maumee, Ohio – right outside the auto-manufacturing hub of Toledo.

The Romney campaign pre-butted to Obama by releasing a statement from the candidate that new complaint was “too little, too late,” calling it a “campaign season trade case.”

“I will not wait until the last months of my presidency to stand up to China, or do so only when votes are at stake,” Romney said in the statement.

But today the White House insisted the complaint was not politically motivated.

“It's clear that this is a long and consistent part of the president's record,” deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said of the many WTO cases Obama has brought against China, during a gaggle with reporters on Air Force One en route to Cincinnati. He added that this trade complaint had been “months in the making.”

Obama continues his Ohio swing with a stop in Columbus later Monday afternoon.

Romney, and his bluff-all-the-way-to-the-election strategy...

Do you really believe after all these years, that Romney would do a 360 on Trade?

After Bain Capital sent jobs to China all those years, Romney tells us he's getting the boxing gloves out now?

The truth is before this election - as today - Romney took full advantage of unfair trade practices with China.

So the President says "I like to walk the walk not just talk the talk". Filing a complaint is one thing, accomplishing a result is another. Ok Mr. President, what about your promise to cut the deficit?

The President went on and on as to how bad deficit spending was. Without conditions of any kind to include any act of congress, the President vowed to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. Well, this is the end of his first term. To keep the President's promise the federal deficit for this year, 2012, cannot exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet the President's own White House is predicting that the deficit will exceed 1.2 trillion dollars. The President also promised transparency. I want the President to explain what magic he is going to perform between now and the end of the fiscal year in order to keep his promise to the American people. Remember that the 2012 federal fiscal year ends at the end of the month.

With the federal government now more than 16 trillion dollars in debt, I estimate that the money the federal government is borrowing today will end up costing the tax payers more than 10 times the amount borrowed to repay over the next 180 years. That is just my estimate. I want the President to present a plan for repaying all of the money that it owes. The tax payers have a right to know how much all this federal borrowing is going to end up costing them.

The President needs to be reminded of some words of wisdom that were spoken back in March of 2006. The words are as true today as they were then.

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.

And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on.

Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America’s priorities. Instead, interest payments are a significant tax on all Americans–a debt tax that Washington doesn’t want to talk about. If Washington were serious about honest tax relief in this country, we would see an effort to reduce our national debt by returning to responsible fiscal policies.

Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

~ Senator B. H. Obama, March 2006

Obama does not like to "Talk the Talk" ? Someone please keep me from hysterically laughing all over this website. ROTFLMAO ! That is all Obama DOES .... talk, talk, talk .... pander for votes, attend a couple of fundraisers and talk, talk, talk some more !! If we could harness all the hot air coming from his pie-hole, why we would have a new energy source and reduce our dependency on fossil fuels !

Obama said he would cut the federal deficit in half during his first term .... totally HOT AIR as he has increased it over $5 trillion and has yet to have a budget.

Obama promised to close Gitmo ... only to realize that he had no where to send the prisoners.

Obama promised the Stimulus was there to supply funding for all those "shovel-ready" jobs ... only to later laugh about them not being so shovel-ready.

Obama talks about pulling jobs back from China ... but again, it is ALL TALK and no action.

Jody, I'm sorry but the current President, Obama surrounds himself with rap artists and DJ's. The guy is more worried about his FB status than running a country. He may seem confident, but his abilities and solutions are dismal. The debt increased $5 trillion - NOT the deficit !!

Since I have corrected you statement before … I think it would serve you well to stay away from any discussions on the debt and deficit until you become better informed on the difference because it is a big difference.

Joe in Albany - regarding Ms. Fiesty''s avatar, put two and two together.

Ms PhinePhancy died the other day. She was a woman with a gentle soul and courage to speak her mind in a way that many on both sides of the discussion board appreciated. She used humor to make her points. She was a sports fan who enjoyed talking about her teams with anyone. She used a pink flamingo in her avatar.

There are currently several avatars that have been changed to include pink flamingos. I suspect that several of the ladies on this site that Ms Phancy was close to have changed their avatars to include pink flamingos to both honor and to mourn her. It's a gift to show those that were close to her that they still stand with her.

I think it's great.

Republicans blaming President Obama for the deficit and the debt is a conundrum. Who quadrupled the debt? Reagan and Bush 41. Who turned this country from a creditor nation to a debtor nation? Reagan. Who doubled the debt again? Bush 43....and guess what, Paul Ryan voted YEA on every single deficit and debt-busting UNFUNDED piece of legislation from 2001-2008. Where were all the conservative deficit and debt hawks during those years? Sleeping under a rock no doubt. I sure didn't read or hear a single republican legislator complain nor did I read any conservative FR posters complaints about it until after Jan 20, 2009.

Obama, hypocrit in chief. Outsourced $2 Billion in electric car money to Finland (result = no American jobs, no electric cars, and an additional $2 Billion in US debt), and now wants to Give Egypt $1 Billion US tax dollars to purchase (outsource) German UBoats.

Egypt doesn't need German UBoats anyway. Egypt may need California dune buggies, however. They may be purchased right here from Cal's Dune Buggy Shoppe. No tax dollars. No trade deficits. One pound of dune buggy should be worth about 5 pounds of Egyptian fig bars, buyer pays freight. No government subsidies or middlemen.

That's probably why Obama is not trying very hard to help California workers, because the last thing they need is more of Obama's help.

Mr. President just keep yakkin' over there but please stay out of the way of business.

This is another "first day" promise in office that's not going to come to fruition,

Considering the number of 1st day promises most of the country is choosing to ignore with the current administration, I'm not sure why it matters what is said now. They can say anything they want, half say yeah, half boo, yet neither is giving any solutions that will fix the current mess.

Many of the comments are apparently a testament to how inadequate our education system is. Statistically many of these comments come from people who have attended and actually graduated from college. Therefore, they either skipped a whole lot of government classes or actually know better and are blinded by their partisan ideology.

In our system the "president proposes and the congress disposes." President Obama has no authority to spend $1 unless the congress grants the president that authority. All debt and all deficits were approved by both the House of Representatives and by the Senate. If you are unhappy with this you only have your three members of congress to blame -- and quite frankly yourself for voting for those three people in the first place.

There is one thing, regarding the debt/deficit I'm curious about: Back in early 2009, right after President Obama took office, what would you have done? Propose, lobby for and sign the stimulus package or stand by and do nothing? It seems to me that a recovery (albeit slow) trumps depression. But that's just my point of view.

Sorry Obama, but that's all you do is just talk. Radical extremists break into a US Embassy and tear up the US Flag and replace it with an AQ flag. What does Obama do? Nothing. He doesn't even mention the incident.

I bet AQ laughed like crazy after the incident. Can you imagine how proud they must be? These guys got into an embassy representing the most powerful country in the world and the President of that country says nothing.

Then this same President has the nerve to stand at a podium and say that he is all action. Obama, tell that to AQ.

Nope. I just wish Obama would have at least mention the incident. He was too afraid to even do that.

God knows...America has spare Trillions of dollars just lying around...to fortify 100s of US consulates and Embassies all over the world!!!

We don't have trillions of dollars lying around. We're broke because of Obama's spending habits and we are getting more into debt everyday!

Today because of Obama the US takes one step forward and then 3 steps back. We are fighting a losing battle. One job created and then losing 3 jobs will get us nowhere.

Romney has no vision, no core values (except to win) and no plans that he is sharing with voters (execpt not to release how his taxes might be affected by what he is not telling us).

However, Obama's response to Romney's charge of pulling a "campaing season trade case" - that this World Trade Commission complaint by Obama has been months in the making - is lame. I mean how long does it take to draft a complaint?

Nice spin but it's not going to work. The recent Middle East fiasco is important and Obama should talk about all of it instead of picking and choosing.

Obama has already spoke about the Egyptian Embassy several times...did he need to mention the Islamic Flag....gosh....the American flag was replaced the next day!!!

He should have spoken about the Embassy in Egypt right after it happened.

Too bad so many people hate the United States. What is ironic is that during the 2008 campaign Obama criticized Bush so many times about people hating us. He blamed it on Bush. Well, what can Obama say now? More people hate us now than four years ago.

"I will not wait until the last months of my presidency to stand up to China, or do so only when votes are at stake," Romney said in the statement.

More Republican lies!

NY Times, Sep 11, 2009
In a break with the trade policies of his predecessor, President Obama announced on Friday night that he would impose a 35 percent tariff on automobile and light-truck tires imported from China.

China.org.cn, Dec 30, 2009
The US Commerce Department said on Tuesday that it has set preliminary anti-dumping duties (AD) on imports of steel grating from China...The Commerce Department said it set a preliminary anti-dumping duty of 14.36 percent on four Chinese producers or exporters in the steel grating investigations.

Washington Post, Apr 10, 2010
The Commerce Department imposed penalties Friday of up to 99 percent on imports of oil field pipe from China, the latest in a growing list of duties slapped on Chinese products found to be unfairly priced.

Reuters, Apr 28, 2011
A U.S. trade panel gave final approval on Thursday to duties ranging up to more than 400 percent on around $500 million of aluminum products from China

Reuters, May 20, 2011
The U.S. Commerce Department on Friday said it had slapped preliminary anti-dumping duties ranging up to nearly 83 percent on over $100 million of wood flooring from China to offset unfair pricing practices.

LA Times, May 18, 2012:
The Obama administration ordered tariffs of 31% and higher on solar panels imported from China, escalating a simmering trade dispute with China over a case that has sharply divided American interests in the growing clean-energy industry.

There are other examples. These took about 5 minutes of googling.

C'mon, Romney! You and Bain are just too heavily invested in China to stand up to them. Your only conscious is your wallet!

"On his first day on the job, Romney is not going to put himself on the immediate defensive with the world's second largest economy," said one top financial industry executive who strongly supports Romney. "It is unclear what China's initial reaction would be [to Romney's proposed actions]. But none of the scenarios are positive," the executive added. "Will they ban some of our exports? Maybe. Will there be crippling tariffs? Maybe. It would set into motion a very unpredictable and possibly very damaging series of events."

What do you suppose would happen to their economy if, say, we yanked Most Favored Nation trade status from them? Hint- it wouldn't be good.

What would happen? Corporations like Wal-Mart that make a ton of money off things manufactured in China would not be too happy, and neither would the stock market.

China and other countries would retaliate with off-setting tariffs that would hurt our exports.

American companies that have invested heavily in opening up the Chinese markets would lose their investments.

To make the claim that Romney is some kind of business guru based on his years as a equity capitalist is specious at best. Romney specialized in using leveraged debt to acquire undervalued companies, which he would then load up with debt in order to extract hefty management fees.

While this was highly profitable to Romney and his shareholders, it doesn't require great leadership or a keen sense of how business works. Romney never had to develop long-term growth strategies, resolve labor issues, deal with changes in the market, or satisfy stockholders.

I can see how Repoublicans would admire his business accomplishments - Romney was an expert at borrowing massive amounts of money that someone else had to pay back. In fact, Romney built his fortune by using a favorable federal tax code to subsidize his company's debt.

You really don't understand at all, do you?

If MFN was yanked from China, there would be a short period of dislocation- and then, goods from India, Sri Lanka, and South America would fill the gaps. Worse, however, would be the economic dislocation that would occur in China- with millions out of work, and a tinderbox ready to explode.

In China's history, revolutions occur immediately on the heels of economic slowdowns. You may be unaware of that history- but their leadership is not.

Obama seems also to be completely unaware of said history- therefore, completely inept at handling trade negotiations with them.

It is obvious from your simplistic response that if there is anything you know less about than politics it is economics.

You are advocating replacing one unfair trade partner with many others, therefore wiping out all the political and economic capital that we have invested in China and increasing the complexity of the situation.

Oh, and just ignore the human suffering that would result from this "economic dislocation" and the subsequent revolution. Also ignore that in response the Chinese government would be driven further away from the path to democracy, and be turned into a true military foe.

That's exactly what we need, a well-armed pissed off country with nuclear capability and millions of people who blame America for their economic problems.

no joe: you assume that President Obama is not aware of the history of China. On the contrary, he is very aware of it. That is why he is working through the WTO instead of just imposing punitive tariffs (as China has done.)

China is also fully aware that the House is ruled by the Tea Party, which does not allow any kind of increase in taxes. Since import tariffs are taxes the Tea Party will not allow them to be raised for any reason.

Romney's plan to get business hiring again. Free Trade Agreements. Most of the time, those same Free Trade Agreements are designed to outsource good paying jobs from the US to other countries. It was a really nice try of you to get rhetoric in that has no factual basis. What has Obama done in his 4 years? He has helped the Private Sector save or create over 24 million jobs. What has Romney ever done? He created a company that bought bad companies, then tore those companies apart and renamed them, finally putting the costs of buying those companies back into the company, of which many eventually have filed bankruptcy over.

You failed to answer the question as to how Romney's speech about Olympic athletes is any different from President Obama's speech.

The speech did not discuss just roads and bridges, but the American principles that help people achieve their dreams and goals:

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.” - Pres. Barack Obama (emphasis added)

Off the top of my head, here are three claims Romney has made that turned out not to be true:

    1. Romney said Obama removed the work requirement for welfare - turned out that was false. Factcheckers gave it a "pants on fire" rating.
    2. Romney said Obama "stole" 700 billion from Medicare to pay for Obamacare - not only was that not true, but the Ryan budget relied on those same cuts, which did not effect benefits and were cost cutting measures only, to reduce the deficit.
    3. Romney said his own tax plan would cut taxes on the middleclass as well as on the wealthiest - but the non-partisan Tax Policy Center examined his proposals and determined that those making under $200,000 a year would actually see their taxes rise by $2000.00 a year.

You've almost topped that total in one post!

    1) The ad was NOT approved by President Obama. It was developed by a PAC, not the Obama Campaign.

    2) The ad did NOT say Romney killed the steelworker's wife - it merely pointed out they lost their insurance, and that later she died of cancer.

How many times has Romney attacked Obama with statements that later turned out not to be true?

And how many times has Romney attacked Obama and then Obama turns around and does the very thing Romney attacked him for a few days later. Case in point, Today, Obama announced an inquiry into China's trade practices. Once again, lead from behind. And Mitt was the one to stir it up. Do I detect a little, just a smidgeon of anxiety in the Obama camp?

Why does Obama pander to Muslim extremists and why did our embassy apologize for a film that has conveniently been deemed the cause of the riots ? Funny how this just happens to occur on 9/11 after Obama continues to spike the football over "we got Bin Laden" !

At the end of the day, Romney was correct ... the U.S. had no business apologizing ! That is all Obama knows how to do ... to lead from behind !

    jim -

Please point out to me where any statement from either the US Embassy in Egypt or the Obama Administration contained any words of apology:

The very definition of "Apology" is an expression of remorse or regret, an admission of guilt, or asking for forgiveness. I fail to see where any of that occured.

If "condemn" equals "apologize" then why did Mitt Romney apologize for Todd Akin's Rape comments?

I am disgusted that while our US Embassy was still under physical attack by a mob of angry Egyptians they were verbally attacked by Mitt Romney.

I CONDEMN this act of political opportunism and anyone who puts their political party ahead of their country.

Six months to a year for that verdict to come in (source CBS News with Scott Pelley tonight at 6:30). So wait for it. Speaking of fact checking, the video of Santorum declaring the GOPTP are all idiots was priceless. Then to boot, on Mitchell Reports, the self-admitted dumb-blond, Alice Stewart, repeated the non-intellectual claims of Obama being the 'appeasement/apology' president. Three times, Andrea told dumb-blond Stewart she was wrong, but the dumb-blond doubled down, tripled down, and quadrupled down, proving beyond a doubt, Santorum is right - the party is comprised of a bunch of IDIOTS.

A final thanks to Santorum, we can now say, without dispute, that Romney/Ryan are IDIOTS.

While the republicans do everything they can to protect the tax cuts for moving our jobs overseas, Romney promises to cut the taxes for money made overseas.

Yes Romney is going to be so tough.

Romney even outsources government call center jobs to India while governor. Not to mention he outsourced Olympic uniforms while saving the Olympics with tax payer money all by himself with no help from anyone.

Bain got rich outsourcing jobs overseas and now he wants you to believe he would turn on those that made him so rich as he campaigns for more tax cuts for the rich.

Just where are those tax returns that show what an honorable man Romney is? As if any of us have any doubt as to why he won't let the American people see just how he got so rich all by himself without any help from anyone, much less how the tax cuts and his overseas accounts have made him richer while increasing the deficit.

Funny, the very people that supposedly vote to support unions for civil service workers also bash a private enterprise company like Bain. But those very orginizations are invested in BAIN. GM is building cars there to SELL there. These jobs never existed in the US. This is not outsourcing where jobs are taken from the US and shipped overseas to make goods to sell back to the US

GM is still Detroit based and the US is profiting from these sales.

By the way, Romney was correct about weak security at the Olympics as their contractor for providing security services was unable to fulfill the total requested amount ! The Brits later realized this and brought in the troops.

In Egypt, Obama will not issue live ammo to their security detail ... he might OFFEND someone !

          Layton-3733410,

Romney, from what I am to understand, is supposed to be part of the AUB Denomination. (Apostolic United Brethren) If I'm not mistaken (and I shouldn't be as I have written a 200 page discourse on Mormonism itself), they believe in some Socialism for the betterment of their society, such as collectively "owning" property and other such things.

If Romney is a member of this sect, wouldn't it be fair to state that he is being hypocritical, at best? Since Romney's sect believes in the betterment of society through shared labour etc, and he touts that he doesn't think Socialism of any kind works, isn't that a smack in the face of Mormonism as a whole?

          b) The Mormon religion as pointed out by bettermsnbc is very much into socialism for themselves

By the way, Mitt Romney has addressed his faith and has used it as a source to try and make people believe he is somewhat of a human being. Your comment about the President is so old and stale ... try and come up with something relevant if possible.

Putin of Russia has even labeled the "Speculator and Chief" as ignorant, not Presidential, not caring, and has no clue of how far relations between the US and Russia have come. Putin obviously has NO respect for "Romulian Romney" and his still living in the Cold War World of "Alien" Foreign Policy. The GOP/RNC Tea Begger "Zombie" wants to spend even more on defense, and bomb Iran. Hey Romulian? How is our nation going to pay for your Foreign Policy of "Radioactive Puke??" Our nation still has to pay off the war "Bush Wars" in Iraq and Afganistan. Our nation still has to medically, mentally, and phsycally pay to injured military veterans coming back from the illegal "Bush Wars." The GOP/RNC "Speculator and Chief" wants to expand US military adventures in even more Middle East Nations! How would our nation pay for such a military expansion? What US Military "Boots On The Ground" would even be around? The US Miltiary Forces are too tired, too stretched, and too injured on many levels. Diplomatic negociations on all levels with our allies must come first. NOT LAST! According to Politifact Obama made 508 campaign pledges. He has kept 37 percent and has failed to keep 16 percent. The rest are still TBD. A 16% broken promise rate is nothing to brag about. After all a promise is a promise. If one cannot keep a promise then one should not make the promise in the first place. For example the President said that the White House dog would be a mutt. "like me", from a shelter yet the dog they got is a pure bread that has never set foot in a shelter. The President is suppose to be the most powerful man in the free world yet he cannot keep his word on something as trivial as the White House dog. Obama says that sound good at the time but in reality have little real meaning.

Either you want free trade Agreements, or you want to take a tougher stance on them. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Free Trade agreements don't work like that. I, for one, don't think Free Trade agreements help with the US economy at all. As a matter of fact, tariffs actually made the US products more competitive here in the US as it allowed for higher wages within the US.Without those vital tariffs, the working class must not make up the revenue with increased taxes, or the government must shrink itself to reapportion the revenue collected. The latter won't work, because too many politicians aren't wanting to cut the right things. Taxes won't work because those same politicians won't raise taxes to readjust for the decreased revenue from Free Trade Agreements. What to do? The easiest thing in the US is to mandate a New Constitutional Amendment that repeals free trade agreements which would allow for the better paying jobs to either return, or we have to find new innovative ideas.

"But today the White House insisted the complaint was not politically motivated."

LOL....of course, the Journ-O-Listers at First Read dont add to this statement ...they take the word of their favored candidate, that is the end of the story

Romney's positions, by contrast, are routinely challenged in First Read news articles...

            Bob,

FR is the least of Romney's worries. If you ask most people on the street they would even be able to tell what First Read is. FR is for us politcal junkies. Let's face it Romney is Romney's problem.

They can't answer laker Steve, because they don't know ... libbies are satill buying into the vagueness of "Hope and Change". Obama's menu of plans for his next term is like warmed-over hash that did not work the first time. Meanwhile, the national debt keeps soaring.

Since China’s Government illegally subsidize their auto parts Industry, to out-bet the competition in the United States, Republican nominee, Mitt Romney feels he can get along with China better. That is because he and Bain Capital have been doing the same of being subsidized by our Government to keep their companies open. He and Bain Capital made a lot of money for their selves on Corporate Welfare, at the expense of later having close down or sell the companies burden with debts.

Obama: "It’s not right; it’s against the rules; and we will not let it stand.” Right. As though he's done ANYTHING punative to ANY foreign government. I'd love to see him do one tiny thing to oppose China, but there's no time for him to do it, and he wouldn't if there were. I mean he's had 4 years to reach the goals he promised us he'd reach, and he's still blaming Bush. L-O-S-E-R.

Romney visited a factory in China that has the workers living in barracks surrounded by barbed wire and watchtowers.

He praised the factory managers on running such a good operation.

This is Rmoney's vision for America.

Obozo talks more BS on top of walking through his own BS. The morons who announed the time line for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan now see our troops getting shot in the back by these radical islamic nuts! We trained these imbeciles so they can kill our troops! Obama is to blame for this blunder as well as many of his giant stupid moves. Get our troops the hell out of this miserable piece of wasteland and let these morons protect themselves!

If they don't have enough training, tough let them get overran by the scum Taliban! Stop all foreign aid to Karzai and the other islamic extremists idiots and save the taxpayers here some money. We are going to need every cent because of the idiot-in-chiefs massive spending!

Get Obozo and crew out of office in Nov along with his stupid left wing demorats! Tell Iran we are going to wipe them off the map if they do not stop their BS nuclear program.

We will need every red cent for our military and our defense because we need to show the world we are going to be the toughest dog in the fight and they better stop their support of terrorist acts against our country.

Tell Israel we will be with them all the way!! If the liberal morons in this country do not like it, tough, move to Yemen!! For the lousy athiests out there this country was founded on our belief in God, if you do not like this, move to Iran!! Shut up and support this country and its foundation, freedom of religion, and constitution! For those who do not believe in GOD that is your right but we don't want to hear your BS about those who do!!

walks the walk... interesting statement, and looking at data from jobs and economy suggest what walk exactly? not a good one imo. Another thing occurred to me while talking with some folks about politics... All this rich corporation talk, and outsourcing talk the dems and libs like to toss around - I really hope none of them use an Apple product like an iPhone or iPad that was made by one of the most capitalist corporations in history and outsources the assembly of 350+ million devices...or you risk being a hypocrite.

Calling total BS Washington Post BS on that one HC12 . . . .

              http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/09/is-president-obama-skipping-intelligence-briefings/

While his predecessor might have preferred an oral daily briefing, Obama religiously reads a written version of the same prepared material, often on a secure iPad (as seen in this official White House PHOTO). He often receives an in-person briefing in addition, aides note, as well as real-time national security updates during the day, both in the office and on the road.

Thank GOD the President doesn't want to emulate GW!
