Look, the current positions have Israel looking like a pitbull on a leash held by the United States. If the U.S. let's go, Iran would be toast. If the U.S. joins in, Iran would be toast.

This is exactly the SMART play on Iran. It is obvious to anyone paying attention that Netanyahu understands that the relationship portrayed by the two of them is the most effective... with Obama indicating "Look, I can't hold this guy back much longer!"

And Romney plays his simple games without one ounce of understanding of "strategy"... or if he does understand, even worse, he's putting politics above the appearance of unity.

Translated: Israel will need a partner after November, and Mitt is not going to be it.

If Israel wants peace it needs to elect someone that has a plan for peace with the Palestinians. When Israel can settle its problems with them, a lot of their problems will go away. It won't be easy as both sides will have to give up more than they want. However, it must be done for both sides sake.

A good relationship with the Palestinians is a win-win for Israel. Unfortunately, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not that person.

Gregory Is a little lame when it comes to holding these folks accountable, and bringing the truth out in his interviews. I won't say he's always bad, but sometimes he really pisses me off, especially when talking to a right wing nut.

Bibi is a dangerous man but he's not stupid. he knows it is unlikely that Romney will ever be president and he must keep what appears to be a solid relationship with president Obama.

Whatever it means on the world stage, there is something we need to know and hopefully understand. That is, Iran has no nukes and Israel has many.

While some in Iran may be willing to go on suicide missions for "the cause", most do not wish to perish in a mushroom cloud.

Also, and most important to know, the Iranian people have shown many times they are into being more westernized. This was again made clear in a recent demonstartion during which some Iranians were killed by their government.

I think it best we do not make some preemptive move as we have done in Iraq.

Bibi's view is that if the U.S. doesn't jump when Israel says it should jump, then the U.S. is not a true friend. He's brought this issue up before, and I doubt the Obama administration is unaware of what's going on in Iran. But Americans have heard this nuclear saber rattling in the past, which is the reason we ostensibly went to war in Iraq...because Hussein had purchased yellowcake in Niger and was close to producing a nuclear weapon.

It's no coincidence that Bibi is pushing his agenda during election season. I'm pleased that we have a president who's unwilling to mobilize the troops and pack the bombs when somebody gets skeered.

Obama is the blame for the unrest in the Middle East? The Middle East has been a powder keg since the birth of the modern Isreal State. From the attacks on U.S. Naval vessels, to the Pollard spy incident, and now with Netanyahu interjecting Isreal's policy goals into the American Presidential campaign, the Isrealis have shown a very untrustwothiness in their relationship with us.

Liberals don't understand Netanyahu, nor do they care to. Netanyahu has to play the middle because Israel is dependent upon the strength of the US to back them up. He knows that US elections can turn a tide, or not. If you notice, he also said nothing negative of Romney... that's politics. While the liberals don't care what they say about Romney, world leaders know that Romney might be the next POTUS, so they don't rock the apple cart. Of course Netanyahu will not say anything negative about Obama due to the same reason. It's not an endorsement like the liberals so strongly misinterpret.

In other words: Netanyahu knows that Romney is loosing, and it is in his best interests to make sure that he is on the same page as the President of the United States.

I rather like that we have a president who is so adroit in handling foreign leaders. This is not the first time Netanyahu has tried to publicly goad Obama into making stupid decisions. Remember earlier in the year, when he said the Iranian situation was an 'emergency' and that Israel was going to have to bomb them? Instead of escalating the situation by scrambling to pander to the Jewish vote, as was obviously the intent, Obama just said - also publicly - that nothing had changed in the situation to constitute an emergency , and all the bellicose talk of war was not helpful in the diplomatic activity taking place. Done. Situation defused.

Nice to have a leader in the White House for a change. If we had someone who was more worried about politics than about doing the right thing, we'd already be in a war with Iran. Something to keep in mind when you vote this November.

Furthermore, if we attack Iran, Israel will suffer any consequence Iran can bring to bear on them, Iran has no forces of any kind that can reach the USA, anything we do to them, they will retaliate by striking at Israel. In the long run Israel must survive by diplomacy, it will never survive by war with other nations in the middle east, not even if we prosecute the war for them. They are in the middle of the zone, we would bear the cost, they would bear the pain of death and destruction. There are Islamic extremists who hate us. No American policy will placate them. However, most Mid East countries are governed by more moderate Muslims. We largely had their trust back during Desert Storm. When we invaded Iraq in 2003 without provocation, we alienated many of these moderate governments. Obama has been winning them back (ending the War in Iraq) and will continue to make progress here as he scales back the Afghanistan War.

Angry protests have not threatened to topple any governments in the Mid East in the past 8 days and consequently, the progress Obama has made in dealing with them, remains in place. It is easy to condemn hot-headed protesters of another faith. I understand that religious intolerance is the enemy of Americans and Muslims alike. This is the common ground that needs to be pursued to make the world a more peaceful place.

Hatred is the enemy of peace. Religious intolerance is the enemy of peace. Obama supports the peace process in the Middle East and the world. If we don't want to be always fighting wars, this is the way forward.

The sanctions are working, but won't totally slow down the development of nuclear weapons. They have severely reduced the number and type of centrifuges needed. They are only enriching to 20%, and would need to enrich to 90% to have a viable bomb.

I believe Israeli and U.S. intelligence knows where things are at. Israel won't wait to act. The U.S. can support that process, but shouldn't be the attack dog of Israel necessarily.

Romney has no clue, I'm sure after next week when he begins to get security briefings he'll be somewhat embarassed about his stances on foreign policy. That or he'll divulge something he shouldn't for political gain.

What people miss is that Iran does not have to develop an actual nuclear weapon.

1) Any reasonable smart high school graduate can create an "cannon" bomb such as "Little Boy" Hiroshima type with ease. All that is needed is enough fissile material, some lead, and some thick stainless steel pipe. A "Fat Man" bomb like the one that requires a little more knowledge of explosives, but far less fissile material. You have to remember that this technology is as much as 80 years old at this point --- literally childs' play.

2) 20% enriched uranium sounds like it has a long way to go to 90+%. In fact, it is about 82% of the way there. As the uranium is enriched it becomes easier to separate. A stockpile of 20% enriched uranium could be enriched to 90% in a matter of weeks using Iran's existing facilities. That is why they are concentrating on 20% instead.

3) For a "Fat Man" implosion bomb, the sophistication lies in getting a number of explosive charges to go off at precisely the same time. In the 1940's this was extremely challenging. Today the necessary technology cam be bought in any camera shop for pocket change. That is the aspect that the Iranians have been testing at the site they are currently cleaning up while denying access to UN inspectors.

4) For countries like Iran and North Korea, they can take an extra step to make warheads more "transportable" by simply eliminating most of the shielding (about 70+% of a bomb's weight and half its volume) and using fanatics (or people who can be sufficiently coerced) to suicidally set the warheads in place on missiles. It is an effect miniturization method that the US cannot use.

By putting all the pieces in place -- the plans, the explosives, the enriched uranium --- Iran can have about 80% of the threat of a nuclear arsenal for about 20% or less of the cost. It's not nearly as insane as it sounds.

His basic premis is that if you take everyone who voted for McCain, and subtract the percentage who told exit polls that the m,ain reason they voited for McCain was Obama's race, then Obama would have won the election by the largest landslide since George Washington ran unopposed.

I have never been unemployed, except for a few weeks of my own choosing to take care of personal family concerns. I recently started the most lucrative position I have ever held, I have never been on the public dole in my entire life, and I have always paid twice the tax rate that Mitt Romney pays. Romney is not worried about my tax rate, he is worried about his own tax rate, Republicans will never allow me to have the same tax rate as he does. David Gregory gives journalism a bad name. MTP with Tim Russert was informative and worthwhile, one of the few real news programs left on TV. Now Gregory has turned it into just another piece of cheap info-tainment, one more program that thrives on creating trumped-up controversy. His guests have zero credibility to discuss issues of national and international importance. Why put on the same old losers every week and throw them softballs?
