Subscribe to RSSWith the Obama campaign's $6 million ad buy today, the total for ad spending is just a Crossroads buy short of $600 million.
The new grand total is $597.7 million, according to NBC/SMG Delta.
Crossroads is currently making buys and data is expected later on where and how much.
Here's how the total breaks down:
Team Romney: $313.6 million
Team Obama: $284.1 million
And here are the state totals:
Florida: $121 million
Ohio: $116.4 million
Virginia: $89.1 million
North Carolina is clinging to third with $57.7 million, but with no Obama money on this buy, Colorado is creeping up, now at $56.6 million.
Those states are followed by:
Iowa: $48.2 million
Nevada: $38.4 million
New Hampshire: $28 million
Pennsylvania is seeing little activity and is stuck at $19.3 million.
Wisconsin, with the president's and Romney campaign's buys, is now up to $11.8 million. Wisconsin may be seeing a real battle, as the president will campaign their next week. NBC has maintained Wisconsin as a toss-up state, but neither campaign had been advertising there until this week.

Still, I don't know why you're complaining and blaming President Obama. When Republicans had the White House AND both feet in Iraq, the 2nd largest oil producing nation on the planet, 2nd only to Saudi Arabia, we should have been getting our oil and gas FREE for all of the money it cost us to be there, but instead Republicans raised the cost of gas and took ALL the money out of EVERYBODY's pockets!

Someone's getting rich, but when all is said and done. I doubt if it'll make a difference for Mitt. They can carpet bomb all the want to, it is only effective if few have made up their minds and that is not so. It is too bad the people who have money to burn, cant spend it making a difference in a more meaningful way. But I dont think they see the need......really sad.

Oh please! Romney has released his tax returns … to the most critical, ruthless, greedy bureaucracy ever devised … the IRS! If they can't find anything wrong with his returns, I seriously doubt that you could.
Kannin - no actually - he hasn't. He has said he won't release them until he files on 10/15/2012. And, just so you know, he is no better than anyone else who has run for President so he should be held to the same standard - at least 5 years of returns release.
Please don't play stupid - the IRS doesn't audit EVERY return and there is no reason to believe they have EVER audited Romney's - although I feel pretty sure they will this year!

We are not saying he has done anything illegal that the IRS would go after him....just saying he probably has done some unethical stuff, even though it is legal. Maybe even took the amnesty offered for those with off-shore accounts but not paying full taxes on it.
It has to be something pretty bad for Romney to not show his tax returns.....slapping his father in the face since his father was the one who set the precedent for releasing several years of tax returns and said Americans should be able to see them.
Romney is so shallow and dishonest he disrepects his own father just so he can grab some power.

In their prediction they left an out … they said they would update their map a couple week before the election.
What makes them appear to be sooo very wrong already is the fact that the Romney campaign and the Super PAC’s that support him have pulled ads in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
As of yesterday, just 7½ weeks out, the Electoral Map looks like this:
RCP (Average of polls) as of 9/14/2012 After Conventions, before the 1st Debate
9 Tossup States: Tied in two (VA=13, IA= 6), Obama leads in 6, Romney leads in 1.
Delegates: Obama = Solid(142)+Likely(30)+Lean(65) = 237 +Tossup(76) = 313
Delegates: Romney = Solid(76)+Likely(58)+Lean(57) = 191 +Tossup(15) = 206
Total Delegates: [313+206+19 = 538] Win = 270
That's a nice little stimulus that we could be using to create jobs and I'm talking about both parties. As far as oil prices there's nothing the President can do about that when the FED just keeps wanting to defacing the dollar to create a different kind of tax cut for business's then income tax cut that Mr. Romney is proposing so over the next three weeks I suspect gas prices are going to be over 4.00 a gallon. It's supposed to spur growth so we'll see.

600 million just in ads. You know the campaigns are spending probably that much again on personnel, mailings, and the ground game. In California, we don't see any ads. If a state like Iowa has 48 million dollars in ads at this juncture, it is hard to imagine anything playing on television in Des Moines other than political ads. Perhaps, the electorate can be convinced in the future that the campaigns that saturate with advertising have a very poor product. Both sides are convinced now that they must keep up the pressure. But 48 million in Iowa and 38 million in Nevada makes one wonder how there are enough broadcast hours in the day. The SuperPacs not only tell lies, they are a damn nuisance - noise pollution. It will eventually suppress the vote (through sheer monotony and irritation). Perhaps that is the real strategy behind the Koch Brothers. We must shorten the campaign season and amend the constitution to put in spending limits. Those that vote against spending limits should be attacked as pawns of the special interests. Those that run campaign commercials before November of the year before the election should be executed. (And normally I oppose the death penalty!)
In my state ask me how many ads I have seen.....maybe one and that was sdouza or whatever his name was about the Obama climb to power movie. Some @!$%# about you dont know who Obama really is........and it was cheesy as hell.

The good thing about the lies about Obama is that when they have lied about everything what is there to be new? Most people have the heard the old lies and if the new lies don't match they might have dueling lies going around in their heads. And one great thing is that months ago many Fox News watchers have commented to me that they just do not like people being torn down all the time. In other words Fox News is defeating itself. And so are the people who do nothing but lie about Obama. I wonder don't they have a conscience. What good would Elmer Fudd be for a president. Have they thought that far? Seriously. And the odds are now 3 to1 for Obama. Come on other third wake up. Why don't we make it 10 to 0 for Obama. At least you know what he stands for, what his taxes look like, and even if you don't like his policies you know what they are. I saw where McCAin got ticked off at Hannity for making things up. McCAin has an ace in the hole. He has seen Romneys taxes for a decade. Hopefully the maverick will get patriotic come October. So tick him off Fox News. Just give a reason to squeal!

Since Ryan is a professed athiest at least for 22 yrs I would hope they are supporting he and Romney. If they aren't you know they don't mind lying to get votes. The thing about the communists is that they use our freedom against us and that includes a free press. But we have one thing they don't use. Our brains. If someone lies about their marathon, several times in the convention speeches, to seniors about medicare and that is only in one weeks time I don't care what they say they are. I know what they are. Unfit to lead anything let alone our country. What I would like to know is their long term goal. Do they have one. And is it to make the poor slave to the rich or what? After you have so much money and so many house what are you going to do with the money? Start a moon colony so you can rule there? I would kind a like that. We could send a republican delegation of Romney, Ryan, Palin, Gingrich, Hannity, Huckabee, Limbaugh, Beck, the Koch bros., Adelman, Bachmann, Boehner and anyone else who wanted to go. Just think how much better off our country would be. But that poor moon colony!
