Subscribe to RSSThe Obama campaign has released two new Spanish-language TV ads -- one targeted to Floridians of Puerto Rican descent that hits Mitt Romney for opposing Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
"My name is Nydia," a female attorney of Puerto Rican descent says to the camera(translated to English). "I want to talk to you about Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. When she was nominated by President Obama, we all celebrated -- Puerto Ricans and all Hispanics."
She continues, "But Mitt Romney was opposed to Sotomayor. He offended me when he stated he would have voted against her nomination."
The other ad -- to air in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia -- features Cristina Saralegui, who's considered the Latina Oprah. Saralegui spoke at the Democratic convention.
"When President Obama took office our economy was on the verge of disaster," Saralegui says (translated to English). "Hundreds of thousands of Americans lost their jobs every month. The policies of the last Republican President were disastrous."
"Obama stopped the crisis and we are recovering. And now Romney and Ryan ask us to return to the policies that CAUSED the crisis. Back to the future? No way. Forward…. with Obama!"

By the way the ads that will be talking about women's health, family issues and HCR will be broadcasting in Colorado, Nevada and Florida. It's not Hispanics who ask for free stuff - it's the wealthy 1% who don't want to pay their fair share of taxes to support and defend the greatest country on earth. Romney wants to increase spending on the military, while decreasing taxes on the weathiest, it's in his platform.
Just curious as to what "their fair share" is....?
If Romney paid 13% of 100 million dollars it would be $13 MILLION.
That's a hell of a lot of money, and it's millions more than what you or I pay.
So, how much is enough? Do you tax the wealthy, until they aren't wealthy anymore, in the hopes that it will make YOUR life better?

Zman - your point is - you have no point. No one is asking Romney to pay 52% of his income in taxes. However, 13% is very low and not comparable to the money he makes. The dollar amount is not the issue - it's the percentage. If you can't see that you definitely need a better education - or at least an education of some kind.

Ms. Saralegui has the most succinct and accurate explanation of why the economy should NOT be a handicap to President Obama. It echoes the same things I've been saying for some time. In the economy, Obama didn't hurt us, he saved us from much worse. Oh yes, the economy could be much, much worse right now. If Romney gets elected, and returns us to the policies of the Bush era, you'll see how much worse.
Probably the one responsible for attacking the American Consulate in Libya, and killing four (4) U.S. citizens, and the one responsible for inciting riots outside of, and breaking into the US Embassy in Yemen.
