Fact check: This apparently measures from January 2009, when manufacturing workers made up 1,255,200 workers in the U.S. In August, the latest month for which there is data, that stood at 1,197,000 – a net reduction of 582,000 manufacturing jobs. Of course, there is always an argument about which month of a presidency a president should begin to be blamed for jobs losses. The share of manufacturing workers hit its lowest point a year into Obama’s presidency, January 2010 – 1,1458,000. Compared to then, there are 512,000 more manufacturing workers, according to preliminary August data.
That’s a claim Obama made during his Charlotte acceptance speech and was rated “True” by Politifact. He claimed a gain of “over half a million manufacturing jobs” since January 2010.
AP’s Peoples: “With protests at U.S. embassies and four Americans dead, Mitt Romney is suddenly facing a presidential election focused on a foreign policy crisis he gambled wouldn’t happen. It did — and at a bad time for the GOP hopeful. … It’s unclear how long this round of Middle East unrest will last, and Romney’s aides concede the former businessman may struggle to gain a political advantage should anti-American violence continue deep into the fall.”
James Kitfield: “In two recent instances, Romney doubled down on positions that place him well to the right of the Obama administration, and firmly in the mold crafted by hawks and neoconservatives in the first term of President George W. Bush.” He adds: “If the Romney foreign-policy narrative and critique of the Obama administration sound familiar, they should. The key precepts were lifted from the never-have-to-say-you’re-sorry foreign policy fashioned by Bush hawks and neoconservatives in the aftermath of 9/11.”
More: “Despite the fact that the primary is over and you would expect Romney to move towards the ideological center, he continues to adhere to a very stark, black-and-white view of the world,” said Charles Kupchan of the Council on Foreign Relations. “That suggests to me that he really believes what he says, and that Romney is most comfortable philosophically with a neoconservative worldview.”

USA Today: “Mitt Romney took a softer tone on foreign policy at a rally in Northern Virginia on Thursday, telling the crowd the world needs strong American leadership but avoiding any references to Wednesday's argument about the president apologizing for America.”
“Mitt Romney and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan, ‘will begin receiving regular intelligence briefings next week from national security officials in the Obama administration,’ the Washington Post reports,” Political Wire reports.

Romney's "Jobs plan" is to start world war III, then draft everyone without jobs to do the fighting while his 5 sons go do missionary work in France.

Not to rush judgment, could it be that he is just overly modest? In his campagn in New Hampshire last week to told a Vietnam vet that he too spent "couple of years after college....... as a missionary in France". Refraining from bragging about his sacrifice, he avoided saying that he spent more than a couple of years as sort of a rear guard a mere 6,266 miles east of the Ho Chi Min Trail. He pulled a full five year stint, as tough as it was. Yes, he toughed it out until Nixon ordered that the draft be stopped, before he came back to the USA.

and now, at a time when our embassies are being attacked, and before he had all the facts or knew that our Ambassador had been killed, he tried to make political hay on 9-11, a day of mourning in our country, by attacking diplomats in Egypt and the President of the United States.
Nothing about this man that says "Presidential material"….in fact nothing about Mitt says “common sense”, or “compassion “, or “ethics”, or “values”.

Someone has to help me with the numbers ....Jan.'09 there were 1,255,200 mfg. jobs, Aug '12 there were 1,197,000 for a net reduction of 58,200 ..... NOT 582,000. Also, compared to Jan. '10 when the President took office there were 1,145,800 or an increase of 51,200 NOT 512,000. Am I missing something here???

The Gross Domestic Product for the previous quarter was 3.5%
From that day until Obama was elected, GDP growth turns negative. The gross domestic product declined at an annual rate of 0.5 percent in the third quarter of 2008—the largest decline since the third quarter of 2001.(ALL Democrat doing)
(Bush was seated in January 20, 2001, he was president for less than ONE YEAR & turned it around!)

Checking the BLS data, the minuend and subtrahend are both off by a factor of 10. The remainder is correct. Where are the fact-checkers for this article?
If you want some real fun, go to the BLS site and see how many manufacturing jobs were lost in the eight years prior to Obama taking office.
In January 2001, there were 17,112,000. Which means that between Jan. 2001 and Jan 2009, the US lost 4,650,000 manufacturing jobs, or an average of 570,000 each year.
And we're supposed to freak out over 582,000 in 3 1/2 years to the point where we elect someone who wants to re-establish Bush's failed policies?
Sorry doppich, the last term is difference. The quotient is what you get when you divide. But you are right in that the first two figures are off by a factor of 10.
Also, anyone with a brain knows it takes a few months for any job-related policy in a country this large to take effect.

He still stands for his belief in his ability to get America back on a stable course. Without adding trillions of dollars more to the national debt, and continued entitlement to programs that have been misused, and gutted of funds from previous administrations long before Bush.
Those of you who have no Moral, Ethical, and Compassionate Character of their own, would be
hard pressed to gain just an inkling of who this man is.

okay...when Obama took office in January 2009 Manufacturing Jobs were the following:
JAN 2009 12,552,000
JAN 2010 11,458,000 this is a net loss of 1,094,000 jobs in the first year of his presidency
This is an 8% loss from the original level of employment when he first took office....Jan 2010 was the all time low
AUG 2012 11,970,000 this is a net gain of 512,000 jobs since January 2010......this is a growth of 46%
however we're still 582,000 short of the original 1,094,000 jobs lost in the end of his first term.....
But I guess you're going to give his entire first year in office a pass.....
I put 100.00 in a mutual fund, in it's first year I lost 8% of my money....I had 92.00 at the end of the year
3 years and 8 months later I gained back 46% of the 8.00 I originally lost....3.46 92.00+3.46 = 95.46.....I still lost 4.54 GRAND TOTAL...IN 3 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS!!!!! ------- I'M TAKING MY MONEY AND PUTTING IT IN A DIFFERENT MUTUAL FUND!!!!!

I belief there is another math mistake, or just a typo that lead to wrong math.. What was the number 1,1145,800 ? It was probably 1,145,800. Please double check , because this leads to the mistake of making it ten times more in the number, and there is no such thing as 1,1145,800.
What is an " Unbroken promise " (someone wrote this in his/her comment)? A promise not broken is suppose to be good. Isn't it ?
